Alpha-17 and Obi-Wan being friends (derogatory) on 17's part and friends (threatening) on Obi-Wan's part is such an underrated dynamic

They could be so funny and terrifying, like Obi-Wan went through a soul shredding experience with Alpha-17 as his only company. They're friends because what else are you gonna be after you witness each other at absolute rock bottom from torture.

It's like 'dog put in cage of cheetah who's threatening to go crazy', except the dog is a grizzly bear and also threatening to go crazy.

Emotional support trooper except the trooper in question has never done any sort of supporting in his life and is actively an emotional distress trooper to a great number of the CC batch.

I want them texting everyday, I want Obi-Wan mailing handmade BFF bracelets to Alpha and Alpha sending pics back of him flipping off the camera but still wearing them, I want Alpha using Obi-Wan to keep track of and occasionally terrorize his cadets, I want 17 ending problems in the GAR (like Krell) before they begin because Obi-Wan has him shipped out on a personal transport at the first opportunity, decked out with slug-throwers Obi-Wan got him for his decant-day.

Natborn officers think this is all just an odd indulgence of General Kenobi, the Vode, however, correctly identify it as a goddamn threat and their danger assessment of Obi-Wan ticks up significantly.

When Alpha arrives on Kamino, Shaak Ti presses a shiny new comm into his hand. It has the Jedi Order symbol painted onto it alongside a smiley face sticker, and it pings immediately with a new message: Hello! I hope you're settling in well!

Alpha stares at the message, stares at the singular contact named 'OWK' and then stares Shaak Ti in the eye as he pitches the comm straight into the ocean. Shaak Ti's serene smile only grows larger as she calmly reaches into her robes and pulls out an identical comm, only this one has a frowny face sticker, and presses it into his hand. It lights up: I'm afraid we've bonded, Alpha :). Alpha shuts it off and pockets it with resignation.

Cody arrives on Alpha-17's personal recommendation.

A-17: He's the most difficult little bastard I have. You're perfect for each other. OWK: Thank you, he's very handsome :3 A-17: No. Stop.

The first thing he asks once he gets comfortable is who his general is texting so much that has him swinging his legs and twirling his hair. Cody assumes it's Anakin, given they seem joint at the hip anyway, but little does he know Obi-Wan's ability to consistently have the Weirdest Relationships Ever.

"Oh, it's Alpha-17, I understand you're familiar with each other?" Hmm. OK. Cody.exe is experiencing a processing error, please hold. He exits the room instead of answering. The next day he peeks over the General's shoulder when he's texting and sees walls of rambling messages from Obi-Wan. Alpha-17 replies every hour with a single text: Lose this number. Obi-Wan giggles. "He's so funny." he says.

When Obi-Wan meets the rest of the CC batch, Cody makes sure to stand perfectly angled so that he can record the reactions when his general cuts off their introductions with "Oh, no need, Alpha-17's told me all about you." It's always immediate FEAR.JPG followed by a slow spiral of What The Fuck.

What do you mean by that General. What does that mean Cody. What do you mean they text. No. Cody. What the fuck is happening, Cody. Alpha-17 doesn't have friends he has enemies and enemies he tolerates enough not to shoot on sight.

OWK: Wolffe reached for his vambrace? when I mentioned you A-17: That's where he keeps his spare knife. OWK: Hm that does explain the way he eyed me up, ambitious. A-17: Clearly not enough, he should have followed through. I taught them better.

All ages share the same extensive swatch; recolors can be either standalone or repo'd to AF. Everyone has a fat morph, teens and adults have preg morphs. All required meshes are in the archive, including a default replacement mesh for afbodydressmedieval that adds the preg morph (see details under the cut). Polycounts are low, ranging from 2,214 to 2,276.

The swatch

Everyone gets the same recolors but the children don't have necklaces. For non-AF recolors, don't forget to choose either standalone or repo'd.

I included all files even the ones made by the creators credited (mainly for AF) because I edited them in the following ways: • disabled EF on the AF recolors (since EF now have their own mesh and recolors), enabled them for YF when needed, • fixed shoe sounds when needed, • fixed small texture flaws when needed, • edited file names for clarity and consistency, • changed sortindex numbers so that all sets appear tidily one after the other in CAS, • all recolors are now categorized as everyday & formal and 10 of them are also enabled as outerwear (I'll specify which ones as we get to them).

1. Maxis

For all age groups, these 3 recolors will appear in the Nightlife section of the CAS catalog, as if they had shipped with the game (no cc star).

As long as you have the Nightlife expansion, you already have these 3 for AF. However, you'll see I still included 3 Maxis files in the AF folder: they're optional and their function is to disable the Maxis recolors for elders so that they're only available for Y-AF, and to make the red dress (#3) available in CAS (it's hidden by default).

Still in the AF folder, you'll find 2 optional texture default replacements for the red dress: "NoShadow" removes the inter-boob shadow (that shadow doesn't exist on the other 2 recolors), while "NoShadowNoNecklace" is if you want no shadow and also no necklace.

Choose one of the two files at most, and note that if you pick "NoShadowNoNecklace" the necklace will also disappear from recolors 1 & 2.

Announcement regarding my Hermitcraft AU

hello fellas! I am happy to announce the start of the fic writing for my Hermitcraft AU, which is currently dubbed the merger au, but the name is subject to change

there is a public doc with the lore, species, and introductory stuff which can be found here

canon designs will be posted over the coming week(s), starting the day this is posted

i will try to be consistent with chapters and im planning for once every month or sooner if possible

this is also my first ever fic so it WILL have flaws

[The fic would follow the pov of Scar but may alternate sometimes. It is set in season 10 and Scar is still suffering the effects of Secret Life.]

 Since Scar never died in Secret Life, he was pulled out of the loop manually by the secret keeper and was almost coaxed into becoming one, but he escaped in time before any major damage was done. 

Except the secret keeper follows him.

When Scar fled the watchers' realm, he accidentally led the secret keeper to the Hermitcraft S10 world, giving them access to it and every other Hermitcraft world before it. In an attempt to communicate with Scar and bring him back to the watchers,the secret keeper uses this new “tool” to mess with reality and merge the different worlds. Some days, a random building from season 8 might show up in a crater, other days Larry may return because “the snails built him on the cart” (lie), and sometimes this even affects the hermits themselves, causing sudden wardrobe, personality, and motive changes.

 Like how Joel randomly grew a Tanooki tail when joining the server. 

Many people blamed the servers' already weird aspects in terms of species, but others suspected it was caused by the transition to becoming a “hermit.” Joel himself claimed it was caused by too much time around Etho and that it was because “Etho is so obsessed he used his mind to give me a tail so that we had something in common.” No one believed him.

And we can’t forget Etho somehow getting a glass monopoly, which was also pointed out by some when the permits were handed out, and is also not possible since every hermit only got 6 shopping permits. The keeper seemed to favor Etho in this way.

Maybe it was Magic Mountain’s looming presence and mystic powers, but Scar felt that many things were off this season. From the weird references to past seasons, Etho’s odd luck, Joel’s mutations or…..

…..was it the feeling of not being alone?

I've seen a lot of people over the past couple days discussing patreon early access and whether or not it's included under ea's new policy. Most seem to agree that exclusive/perma-paywall models are bad, and a lot of people seem okay with early access. So I thought I'd share just why I don't really approve of the early access model either.

1) Trusting patreon creators (in the sims community) with your private information is a risk. Unfortunately, it's been shown by exclusive and early access creators alike that it simply isn't safe to trust them with your info. Eacc creators (not just exclusive) have communicated with each other about those that have shared their content early, and the info they have can include usernames, email addresses, real names, and possibly even paypal information if you have it linked to your patreon account. Users have been doxxed and harassed over sims cc of all things. I, personally, don't feel I can pledge to anyone safely anymore, whether they're following the old 2-3 week early access model or not.

2) There is no quality control. There is no way to determine what you're going to get before you pay for it, and if it's not good quality, you're most likely not going to get a refund. Patreon doesn't make creators refund you, they have to decide to do it on their own. So you can have mods that don't work, ridiculous high poly meshes, no proper LODs, low quality textures, etc and you're stuck with that.

3) There are no standards. People on here argue a lot about what should be charged for and what shouldn't, because there's no consistent standard for what is acceptable or not. Should sims/tray files be early access? Recolors? Conversions? Only mesh edits? What about tiny mesh edits? Is it the time alone that matters? But if that's the case, how much time should a creator have to spend on something for it to be worth paying for? There's no agreement, and so what people will put behind a paywall gets more and more ridiculous over time.

4) New (and some old) accounts making patreons without interacting with the community in any other way besides making money off them. There's no standard for who should make an account and when, so a lot started out just with the sole intention of making money. Also, there are older creators that tapered off their interactions with the community to purely focus on patreon. Early access took over the community so completely because it was easy and anyone could do it, and so they did. This only furthered the problems with quality and standards of cc.

5) Early access creators becoming exclusive over time after they built a following. Also, other shady methods to make more money I've discussed in other posts, such as: making super tiny edits look more enticing by lumping them together in "add-on packs", linking their "free" content through link shorteners/simsfinds/tsr, steadily raising tier prices in order to access all of their content, releasing a piece of cc for early access then coverting the same piece of cc to another frame and putting it under early access again, increasing the early access time period or "forgetting" to unlock things on time, and more. All of this just shows me that many early access creators aren't much better than the exclusive creators. They're toeing the line to stay in the public favor, and perhaps avoid legal consequences, and nothing more.

6) Shifting the focus in the community from creativity to monetary gain. Modding communities (such as those for the Sims, TES, Fallout, Dragon Age, Stardew Valley, and many many more) are built upon learning from one another and working together to enhance the gaming experience. In other words, to have fun! Modders have done amazing things without having the goal of making money off of it, and while it's nice to have that as an option, the sims community shows that it winds up hurting more than it helps when it consumes to this extent. I've talked about this before so I won't go into it too much, but creators are burned out and tired, and other simmers are frustrated and bored. It changed the community as a whole and it shows.

As a concept, early access is fine, but in practice... when everyone is doing it, in so many different ways, with no sense of standards... it becomes a problem.

Sorry my demons so a bunch of stuff happens on the island bla bla bla  but the important thing is that all the eggs get kidnapped and no one (not even the evil federation that runs the island) knows where they are and the parents are told to get on a train to be relocated to some random island until the federation deals with the missing eggs but the train is hijacked and the players are now in purgatory this event was hell

this fucking event was hell on earth. Not only for us, the viewers, but also for the ccs The rules are these: Islanders are separated into 3 different teams Red (aka BOLAS?!?!? -thats their actul name ), Green (aka team green ninjas), and Blue (aka team soulfire)

there is a big evil guy and he is the one that kidnapped the eggs and he runs this event all the teams have tasks that need to be done in a day and the team with the highest score is the winner of that day

The 'ultimate winner' is the team who has won the most days across the two-week period. The winning team gets to choose some of the eggs to come back home with them

then the hell begins im gonna talk about team bolas here cause they are the ones i watched the most but team green ninjas and team soulfire were also very fun  team bolas consists of:

at fistr team bolas tried to talk to the other teams, they didn't start fighting right away because why would they! these people were their friends! the people that helped them and that they made a community with, why would they mindlessly start killing each other? so team bolas tried to talk and the other teams respond by killing them over and over

and over again they kept killing team bolas even tho they only wanted to talk| at the end of the first day team bolas was fucking depressed as fuck they also went insane yk jaiden, jaiden animation ? if you don't she is an animator and is generally kid-friendly and doesn't swear super much im saying this because one of the most popular clips from the purgatory even was her screaming “kill yourself” from the top of her lungs i don't have the clip saved but if i find it ill send it to you is so funny anyway, so yeah team bolas went insane they all started wearing these gas masks and it looks so fucking cool 

oh and the ccs wore actual gas masks irl look

also everyone (but especially baghera and cellbit) got super attached to phil and started calling him dad, an now baghera has trauma and is super clingy to phil cause she sees him as a father figure 

also everyone on team bolas HATES bbh i hope he dies and burns and is tortured eternally <33

(bbh was fucking ruthless and was a notorious spawn killer and gave everyone but especially charlie trauma)

but after the disaster that were the first couple of days team bolas made an insane comeback and manage to fucking win the event!!!

so in conclusion bolas forever <3

there are a lot of more fun moments from the purgatory event (like charlie terrorizing quackity, everyone going insane when carre logged in, that one time charlie pretended to be wilbur) but these were the basics of team bolas

I hate all my loser sims I guess I have a sweet spot for a child sim I made back when I was a child. She lived in a trailer, had big droopy eyes like Brittany Spears, and was named Miami.

You're getting more Maya (although there's probably gonna be a Cat run soon, probably gonna roll her up, get off the nautiloid, then truck on her save once I'm done with Maya's since I'm solidly into act 3 with her. I should work on my other saves too but whatever.)

As far as dealer's choice, I'm gonna limit myself to 5 because I will be here for hours otherwise.

1) Tell us about your Tav! Name, class and subclass, race, pronouns, etc. Do you have a headcanon where they're from? Their family? Are they a Dark Urge? Did you choose an original character or an Origin Character? Was it an easy decision?

Maya Cutter, Vengeance Paladin, Duergar (headcanon is her mother was a Duergar and her father was a Gold Dwarf and that's why the grey complexion only shows as a vague ashy cast and as hyperpigmentation in her scars, and why her hair was lightly shot through with silver all her life.) She is indeed a Dark Urge, so there's some stuff I've adjusted in the backstory to fit with what we learn in act 3 regarding that, but for the most part it remains unchanged. Mainly that her mother was not exactly a good Duergar down in the Underdark and her father wasn't exactly a willing part of the household. Briefly had her own family, but Vengeance Paladin things happened that set her on a very bad path, so the memory loss was a nice hard reboot. Lot of tragedy, lots of death, because if you're gonna pick the edgelord background, might as well lean into it. Plus, I'm bad at letting the coping mechanism characters have a good time.

It was definitely an easy choice for OC playthrough every time, and definitely easy preexisting OC choices for both TDU saves; Maya for the "actually I hate this" and Felicity for Full Murder Hobo. I've got like 8 more not-TDU OCs waiting in the wings at this point and I'm only considering an Origin because I want Karlach and Wyll to smooch.

2) Was there something about the character creator that just couldn't capture your character? Please tell us about their hair, tattoos, piercings, disabilities, their trans or intersex body, or anything else you feel comfortable sharing!

A few things, yeah. First and foremost, Maya is a Tough Old Broad, but physically the cc only allowed for Tough. She's old and fat and happy with that, and while she's got a decent amount of muscle, she's not nearly as buff as the Dwarf character model. (That said, if female dwarves can have beards they should also get body hair. Unshave her.) Woman's built like a dumpling and, outside of the battle scars and edgelord coat of paint, looks more like she should be a cookbook mascot.

Another big one is a consistent thing for her between every au is she has a prosthetic arm. Right arm specifically, starting just below the shoulder, always lost in a fight against something significantly bigger and nastier than her because she put herself between it and someone who couldn't put up a fight. Probably skeletal in this case, reinforced with infernal iron, but it's kinda vague in my head.

Last bit is she's more heavily scarred all over (some of it so severe it looks like pieces of her had to be stitched back onto her body) and with some different stuff written on her face now that I know Larian used the actual Infernal alphabet. Probably slightly luminous scarring rather than just lurid orange face paint, across the face as seen here, as well as around the amputation site on her arm.

...I should dig out my tablet.

19) Did your character spend a night with a companion either the night of the party or earlier? Is it someone they have continued interest in?

Yes and no? She chatted everyone up and about half the party was sad to be shot down, save Lae'zel (already got shot down day fucking one after getting off the nautiloid), Wyll (having his introspective time that she left him to), and Astarion. Astarion immediately headed off any interest (that wasn't actually there, I misclicked) with the "it's not you, it's me. I have standards." line, which (headcanon) got a really good laugh out of her and a "careful there, prettyboy, keep that up and I might actually start to like your skinny ass." She likes a friend she can argue and be catty with.

As far as actually spending the night, she and Karlach did a lot of flirting and then uh. Thinking about each other after working themselves up without having a chance to properly fix the whole Too Hot, Hot Damn issue. Karlach has continued to be Maya's romance, but it is a tragedy she couldn't be poly with her and Wyll. (That said, if I were to replay another Maya save, TDU or not, I'd probably lean less into my own preference and more into Maya being an old slut before sticking with one of the Act 3 companions who's a little closer to her age.)

Aside from any TDU stuff, Maya was very conflicted about how she handled Mayrina's stuff after the Hag. Found the wand, regretted not snapping it. Instead, she used it, felt bad about it, passed it off to Mayrina, felt weird about it, and basically kept wondering on and off during quiet moments "was that...... was that the right call?" well into act 3.

i’ve used him as a model a few times but have rarely taken any solo pics of him.

i made him to be the protagonist of a royal simblr story i had thought of, but then i ran into some obstacles such as: major writer’s block, distracted by cc-making, the fact that the dronningslund world lags like hell on my computer, etc.

i was heavily inspired by the royal simblrs i follow on here.

some random plot points i thought of:

he is consistently ranked at the top of the “hottest royals” lists in tabloids. at the start, his public image is perfect and he is adored by the media. young, stylish, progressive, and movie-star handsome, he is the perfect bachelor and “the people’s prince” or at least that’s what his PR team wants you to believe. however, his presence in pop culture makes some people not take him seriously as a political figure and leader.

he has a younger brother who is the ~wild one~ of the family. since matthias is the crown prince, he faces strong pressure to keep up the facade of perfection, and he envies the freedom and relative lack of scrutiny his younger brother has. black sheep/golden child family dynamic. however they are still close and are each other’s confidantes since they have no one else who “gets it”.

he starts a controversial relationship with a simerican pop star after a visit to simerica for a fancy event. the relationship gets serious fast as they are both infatuated with each other, but it also becomes toxic the more serious it gets. the uneven power dynamic of the relationship brings out the worst in him as he struggles to cope with the pressure of having this highly publicized, polarizing, “forbidden” relationship and the uncertainty of what his future life would look like with her in it since she is an outsider to his high-society social circle.

at some point he ends up having this homoerotic enemies-to-lovers thing with a childhood rival that confuses both of them. a part of matthias is secretly pleased to discover this fact about himself, that he might not be 100% straight after all. he knows it would piss a lot of people off if they knew. another fuck-you to their narrow-minded expectations of who he ought to be. the icing on the cake: their steamy secret encounter shuts his rival’s slick mouth up. not sure where in the timeline i would include this but i really want it to happen lol

the story is really more about the pop star’s journey through fame. she goes from an unknown singer stuck with a shitty music label to a worldwide sensation overnight due to her new relationship with matthias. she thinks she’s been rescued from her troubles, but really she has just traded one gilded cage for another. the story would be told from both of their perspectives. how she realizes that she is still trapped by the people around her. how the fame feels hollow because it is only due to her relationship, not because of her music which nobody seems to care about. how she eventually gathers the courage to say no to this crown prince who everyone thinks is perfect, and reject the fairytale life of royalty so many women would kill to have. how matthias struggles with his conflicting feelings about his future that has been decided for him since birth. how the relationship makes him realize his own flaws and bitterness and cynicism and desperate need to feel in control. how their relationship makes him question what he really wants out of life. how he grows into the next version of who he needs to be. how they both have to find their own ways forward after their whirlwind romance and messy breakup.

i need to create this pop star character!! i already have her name picked out i just need a face claim. 😩 

as i create the rest of the supporting cast i think i’ll have more ideas for how to stir up drama and shape the plot.

I have 5 lots left to build in Willow Creek 🫣

I wanted this world to feel like home. To me willow creek’s map layout reminded me of the areas I saw as a kid. I grew up in a town that was in the middle of nowhere, in the woods, hardly any stores other than mama and papa shops + that one McDonald’s across from my highschool. There were definitely suburban areas depending on where you were but I lived near the more rural parts. The houses were dated, falling apart, or needed TLC is some shape or form. I can’t say that this world mirrors where I grew up perfectly but I wanted to tie aspects I know & love with things I wish I had around me while still keeping that small town feeling.

Foundry Cove: this section of willow creek has been revamped by a home developer named Richard Dick (lol) his goal is to renovate Willow creek to be modern & full of apartments! He wants the towns people to move away from old values, and get with the times. Bigger is better! (We hate him okay)

Courtyard Lane: Homes are decorated with over grown gardens and trees that seem to landscape the entire neighborhood. Despite a few blemishes on the architecture, these homes are loved by residents who take pride in their community.

Pendula View: (not done yet) I was thinking of keeping the gothic mansions theme, I’m just learning how to better my buildings skills and so far I haven’t been able to perfect that worn Victorian home look yet BUT I want this area of willow creek to be mysterious but also welcoming. To be filled with very interesting characters as well- I may have to insert the goth family although all the sims in this save file are original, I just have to incorporate them in some way- even if it’s my own perspective of them.

Sage Estates: This area holds Willow Creek’s National Park; Oakstead Park, and the Cypress forest. This is an area for families to connect with nature, eachother & build skills outside!

Crawdad Quarter: The ‘center’ of town. Here we have the arcade, the family owned pizza parlor, small spa and local bar, The ‘Cozy Corner’ which is a building consisting of a book store, thrift shop & flower shop, and the last lot on this street is pending. Finally in the middle we have ‘Willow’s Heart’ recreational center.

Somethings I’ve learned / thought while starting this project & remaking the worlds into my own completely, is 1. Really challenging myself to learn how to build from scratch- I’ve always downloaded houses from the gallery because mine look like Minecraft houses lmao.

2. To decorate without cc when I’ve only ever had it in my game (it made me focus more on color pallets with limited pieces, even ones I don’t like)HOWEVER, once I finish remaking this save file I’m making a copy so I can add build cc because… this is not for the weak.

3. I feel more satisfied & creative in my gameplay/builds because I am now molding the worlds to the story lines I have. Every detail feels more intimate/ real/ intentional … and I love that for me!

4. It had made me think about what type of stories and environments am I seeing myself make? Am I seeing my personal values and passions show through building worlds entirely of my own perspectives? What are those things? Why? And how could I expand that perspective into something new and maybe even unfamiliar to me? I want my experience in creating, & building to be intentional.

I don’t know why I’m thinking so hard about a game but I am curious to how other people build their worlds, communities, relationships. What stands out most to them in their gameplay. I love seeing people who make and share save files because you can see a glimpse of their own little world. I probably won’t share my save though just because I am not that skilled at building and it’s more for my own enjoyment but if you have a save file I’d love to check it out. It inspires me in ways because I also see ways of building or being creative that maybe I wouldn’t have thought of on my own AH AH

No I don't really like to but I will confess that I have used the weight loss potion a grand total of twice a long time ago, once to see what it did and another time because I'd made it in the science career, however I hat using it and always regret it. The one male hair from Discover University (I gave it to Corey for the Strangerville round of the Globetrotter Challenge) because I love the texture of it so it's only gone to my two favorite sims pretty much. I also love the one Dream Home Decorator hair, the side parted one with the really defined part I don't know why I just love that one!

Favorite life stage? Young Adult! There's a lot to do during that life stage and it's fun to start over and stuff. I've really enjoyed doing Adult makeovers though since I've been working on realism so there's that.

Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? Gameplay! I'll build things when the inspiration strikes or I want something to be my own that I built but otherwise I stick to gameplay and CAS and enjoy everyone else's beautiful builds.

Wow it has changed so much since I started they used to look terrible I feel so bad for them 😭 They didn't look too bad but compared to how I make sims now it's pretty different. I used to lean a lot more into a cartoony style with bigger eyes and stuff, but honestly since my drawing style has changed I think my sims style changed to reflect that new style, going to more realistic eye sizes and experimenting with different body types, noses, etc. so I'd like to think it's a lot better now.

in the sims 2 and 3 i play with the expected chaotic households, consisting of at least one unhinged occult sim, sometimes a cuntified townie (looking at you, malcolm harris), always either a metalhead, goth, emo or punk. that is a must. if i post anything at all from these games it will be gameplay oriented

the sims 1 is the sims 1, there's really only one way to play it for me, and that's without mods, but with lots and lots of sleep deprevation.. so the most you will get is weirdly obscure reposts, or very cursed images of when things go horribly wrong.

mumbo jumbo: the man himself.  built a 128 x 128 block industrial district in both season 6 and 7 packed to the Brim with mechanical farms.  half the brain behind the masterpiece of engineering that was Sahara in season 6.  currently working on Pacific, the sequel to Sahara, in season 7.

iskall85: the other half of the brain behind Sahara and working on Pacific with mumbo in season 7.  also has an industrial district like mumbo’s in season 7.

xisuma: built an automatic potion brewer in the second half of season 7.  this thing churns out potions by the Shulker Box.  can also turn a shulker box full of potions into splash potions and extend duration all with a press of a button.

impulseSV: incredible example of form + function.  farms are scattered throughout his base.  he has a farm for nearly every farmable resource in vanilla minecraft.

etho: the pioneer of some of the most widely used redstone mechanisms to date.  content isn’t super redstone-focused.  mostly does compact modules that serve a specific function.

zedaph: makes strange contraptions.  he’s basically if grian knew how to redstone.  impeccable vibes and fairly underrated.

bdoubleo100: he occassionally does this segment called “redstone with bdubs” and it’s the only redstone i understand so that’s why he’s here.

what about roleplay?  and lore?

it generally comes in the form of self-contained storylines that involve most members on the server and take place over the course of several weeks in multiple videos.  it’s fairly light roleplay, if that’s not your thing.  but the plotlines also have a Massive Potential to be angsty and whatnot if you really look into it, which a lot of people also do.

Objective of our policy toward Black Africa is to prevent social upheavals which could radically change the political situation throughout the area. The success or failure of our policy in the region depends on the solution international and internal issues whose importance of the United States is on the increase.

II. A. U.S. INTERESTS IN BLACK AFRICA

A multiplicity of interests influences the U.S. attitude toward black Africa. The most important of these interests can be summarized as follows:

1. POLITICAL

If black African states assume attitudes hostile to the U.S. national interest, our policy toward the white regimes; which is a key element in our relations with the black states, may be subjected by the latter to great  pressure for fundamental change. Thus the West may face a real danger of being deprived of access to the enormous raw material resources of southern Africa which are vital for our defense needs as well as losing control over the Cape sea routes by which approximately 65% of Middle Eastern oil is supplied to Western Europe. Moreover, such a development may bring about internal political difficulties by intensifying the activity of the black movement in the United States itself. It should also be borne in mind that black Africa is an integral part of a continent where tribal and regional discord, economic backwardness, inadequate infrastructures, drought, and famine, are constant features of the scene. In conjunction with the artificial borders imposed by the former colonial powers, guerilla warfare in Rhodesia and widespread indignation against apartheid in South Africa, the above factors provide the communist states with ample opportunities for furthering their aims. This must necessarily redound to the detriment of U.S. political interests.

2. ECONOMIC

Black Africa is increasingly becoming an outlet for U.S. exports and investment. The mineral resources of the area continue to be of great value for the normal functioning of industry in the United States and allied countries. In 1977, U.S. direct investment in black Africa totaled about $1.8 billion and exports $2.2 billion. New prospect of substantial profits would continue to develop in the countries concerned.

IV. BLACK AFRICA AND THE U.S. BLACK MOVEMENT

Apart from the above-mentioned factors adverse to U.S. strategic interests, the nationalist liberation movement in black Africa can act as a catalyst with far reaching effects on the American black community by stimulating its organizational consolidation and by inducing radical actions. Such a result would be likely as Zaire went the way of Angola and Mozambique. An occurrence of the events of 1967-68 would do grievous harm to U.S. prestige, especially in view of the concern of the present Administration with human rights issues. Moreover, the Administration would have to take specific steps to stabilize the situation. Such steps might be misunderstood both inside and outside the United States.

In order to prevent such a trend and protect U.S. national security interests, it would appear essential to elaborate and carry out effective countermeasures.

1. Possibility of Joint Action By U.S. Black and African Nationalist Movement.

In elaborating U.S. policy toward black Africa, due weight must be given to the fact that there are 25 millions American blacks whose roots are African and who consciously or subconsciously sympathies with African nationalism. The living conditions of the black population should also be taken into account. Immense advances in the field are accompanied by a long-lasting high rate of unemployment, especially among the youth and by poverty and dissatisfaction with government social welfare standards. These factors taken together may provide a basis for joint actions of a concrete nature by the African nationalist movement and the U.S. black community. Basically, actions would take the form of demonstrations and public protests, but the likelihood of violence cannot be excluded. There would also be attempts to coordinate their political activity both locally and in international organizations.

Inside the United States these actions could include protest demonstrations against our policy toward South Africa accompanied by demand for boycotting corporations and banks which maintain links with that country; attempts to establish a permanent black lobby in Congress including activist leftist radical groups and black legislators; the reemergence of Pan-African ideals; resumption of protest marches recalling the days of Martin Luther King; renewal of the extremist idea national idea of establishing an "African Republic" on American soil. Finally, leftist radical elements of the black community could resume extremist actions in the style of the defunct Black Panther Party.

Internationally, damage could be done to the United States by coordinated activity of African states designed to condemn U.S. policy toward South Africa, and initiate discussions on the U.S. racial issue at the United Nations where the African representation constitutes a powerful bloc with about one third of all the votes.

A menace to U.S. economic interests, though not a critical one, could be posed by a boycott by Black African states against American companies which maintain contact with South Africa and Rhodesia. If the idea of economic assistance to black Americans shared by some African regimes could be realized by their placing orders in the United States mainly with companies owned by blacks, they could gain a limited influence on the U.S. black  community.

In the above context, we must envisage the possibility, however remote, that black Americans interested in African affairs may refocus their attention on the Arab-Israeli conflict. Taking into account; the African descent of American blacks it is reasonable to anticipate that their sympathies would lie with the Arabs who are closer to them in spirit and in some case related to them by blood. Black involvement in lobbying to support the Arabs may lead to serious dissention between American black and Jews. The likelihood of extremist actions by either side is negligible, but the discord may bring about tension in the internal political climate of the United States.

3. Political options

In the context of long-term strategy, the United States can not afford a radical change in the fundamentals of its African policy, which is designed for maximum protection of national security. In the present case, emphasis is laid on the importance of Black Africa for U.S. political, economic and military interests.

RECOMMENDATIONS

In weighing the range of U.S. interests in Black Africa, basic recommendations arranged without intent to imply priority are:

1. Specific steps should be taken with the help of appropriate government agencies to inhibit coordinated activity of the Black Movement in the United States.

2. Special clandestine operations should be launched by the CIA to generate mistrust and hostility in American and world opinion against joint activity of the two forces, and to cause division among Black African radical national groups and their leaders.

3. U.S. embassies to Black African countries specially interested in southern Africa must be highly circumspect in view of the activity of certain political circles and influential individuals opposing the objectives and methods of U.S. policy toward South Africa. It must be kept in mind that the failure of U.S. strategy in South Africa would adversely affect American standing throughout the world. In addition, this would mean a significant diminution of U.S. influence in Africa and the emergence of new difficulties in our internal situation due to worsening economic prospects.

4. The FBI should mount surveillance operations against Black African representatives and collect sensitive information on those, especially at the U.N., who oppose U.S. policy toward South Africa. The information should include facts on their links with the leaders of the Black movement in the United States, thus making possible at least partial neutralization of the adverse effects of their activity.

V. TRENDS IN THE AMERICAN BLACK MOVEMENT

In connection with our African policy, it is highly important to evaluate correctly the present state of the Black movement in the Untied States and basing ourselves on all available information, to try to devise a course for its future development. Such an approach is strongly suggested by our perception of the fact that American Blacks form a single ethnic group potentially capable of causing extreme instability in our strategy toward South Africa. This may lead to critical differences between the United States and Black Africa in particular. It would also encourage the Soviet Union to step up its interference in the region. Finally, it would pose a serious threat to the delicate structure of race relations within the United States. All the above considerations give rise to concern for the future security of the United States.

Since the mid-1960s, when legislation on the human rights was passed and Martin Luther King murdered, federal and local measures to improve black welfare have been taken, as a result of which the U.S. black movement has undergone considerable changes.

The principle changes are as follows:

*Social and economic issues have supplanted political aims as the main preoccupations of the movement. and actions formerly planned on a nationwide scale are now being organized locally.

*Fragmentation and a lack of organizational unity within the movement.

*Sharp social stratification of the Black population and lack of policy options which could reunite them.

*Want of a national leader of standing comparable to Martin Luther King.

B. THE RANGE OF POLICY OPTIONS

The concern for the future security of the United States makes necessary the range of policy options. Arranged without intent imply priority they are:

(a) to enlarge programs, within the framework of the present budget, for the improvement of the social and economic welfare of American Blacks in order to ensure continuing development of present trends in the Black movement;

(b) to elaborate and bring into effect a special program designed to perpetuate division in the Black movement and neutralize the most active groups of leftist radical organizations representing different social strata of the Black community: to encourage division in Black circles;

(c) to preserve the present climate which inhibits the emergence from within the Black leadership of a person capable of exerting nationwide appeal;

(d) to work out and realize preventive operations in order to impede durable ties between U.S Black organizations and radical groups in African states;

(e) to support actions designed to sharpen social stratification in the Black community which would lead to the widening and perpetuation of the gap between successful educated Blacks and the poor, giving rise to growing antagonism between different Black groups and a weakening of the movement as a whole.

(f) to facilitate the greatest possible expansion of Black business by granting government contracts and loans with favorable terms to Black businessmen;

(g) to take every possible means through the AFL-CIO leaders to counteract the increasing influence of Black labor organizations which function in all major unions and in particular, the National Coalition of Black Trade Union and its leadership including the creation of real preference for adverse and hostile reaction among White trade unionists to demands for improvement of social and economic welfare of the Blacks;

(h) to support the nomination at federal and local levels of loyal Black public figures to elective offices, to government agencies and the Court.

This would promote the achievement of a twofold purpose: first, it would be easier to control the activity of loyal black representatives within existing institution; second, the idea of an independent black political party now under discussion within black leadership circles would soon lose all support.

One more thing. I was on a program in Illinois recently with Senator Paul Douglas, a so-called liberal, so-called democrat, so-called white man, at which time he told me that our African Brothers were not interested in us in Africa. He said, the Africans are not interested in the American Negro. I knew he was lying, but, during the next two or three weeks, it is my intention and plan to make a tour of our African homeland, and I hope that when I come back, I’ll be able to come back and let you know how our African brothers and sisters feel towards us. And I know before I go there, that they love us. We’re one, we’re the same. The same man who has colonized them all these years colonized you and me too all these years, and all we have to do now is wake up and work in unity and harmony and the battle will be over -Malcolm X

And the reason this tendency exists, the strategy of the white man has always been divide and conquer. He keeps us divided in order to conquer us. He tells you, I’m for separation and you for integration, and keep us fighting with each other. No, I’m not for separation and you’re not for integration, what you and I are for is freedom.
