The new version of the Set Blueprint Archive is now live. Covering set blueprints, CGI models, LCARS, concept art, panoramas, my reverse engineered blueprints and the physical models.

The big new addition is the Physical Models section - various ships, stations, figures, and miniature sets.
The history of the Archive can be read here - https://www.tumblr.com/startreksetplans/708365341243424768/the-set-blueprint-archive?source=share
Oh man I'm just exploring some clip art cds from Internet Archive, found a real gem this time. Its 3DColorClipArt, it has a bunch of weird old early 3d art I thought I would share! There also seems to be some 3d model programs on here but I would have to try a VM to get them to work I think
@chiaranonino @mathieustern “Once, The great Chinese Emperor Qianlong became fascinated by the art of photography. He was particularly enamored with the intricacies of the cameras and the beautiful images they produced. The Emperor was so taken with photography that he ordered his finest artisans to create a camera made entirely of porcelain.
The artisans worked tirelessly to create a masterpiece that would please the Emperor. They carefully crafted each piece of the camera by hand, using the finest kaolin clay and the most delicate of designs. When the camera was finished, it was a thing of beauty. The blue and white porcelain shimmered in the light, and the intricate designs and details were truly breathtaking.
The Emperor was delighted with the camera, and he immediately ordered his court photographer to use it to take portraits of him and his court. The resulting images were stunning, and the Emperor was so pleased with the camera that he ordered several more to be made for his court photographers. The porcelain cameras became a symbol of the Emperor's love for photography and his admiration for the artisans who had created them.”

I run a site called the Set Blueprint Archive. Its aim is to archive and make available the blueprints used to create the various sets of Star Trek shows and movies.
There is also an RSS feed to be notified of additions to the archive - http://archive.frogland.co.uk/plugins/rss/
It started back in 2014, I had found that several websites that once had images of set plans were returning "Error 404" - website dead. So I placed all the ones I had saved in archive and reached out to the TrekBSS community. They shared their images and the archive grew.
Since then, myself and many members of TrekBBS have sought out auction photos, book scans, and images from websites. Some of us have been fortunate to acquire original set blueprints and scan them for the archive.
Recently our efforts to preserve have widened the scope and added images of the CGI models and photos of the LCARS.
As extensive as the archive is, there are still large gaps. So I work on reverse engineering the sets using the blueprints as a start. These projects (Runabout Project, Voyager Project, and Galaxy Project) are released incrementally, with each PDF file under a creative commons licence.
Hopefully these resources can help with others with their own projects - fan art, fan films etc.
Hello! I'm very proud to bring this update to you all after too long of not updating the website. Basically, I decided to go back to using Blender after a two year hiatus when I found that Blender 4.0 got released with some exciting new features!
With this I go over my process for two of the three 3d artworks I made in Blender over the past few weeks and my reasoning behind what I did to deliver the final artworks. I kinda aimed it toward other 3d artists to see how I go about something like this, but if you're also just a fan of people talking about their hobbies you might get a kick out of this too.
epsilons halloween costume is projecting a sheet over his hologram and being like, haha low effort ghost costume. but in reality it’s an INCREDIBLE amount of effort to model and project a piece of fabric over his armor and be constantly calculating the physics of rendering it. it would literally be less effort to just design a completely new look.
