Not to be too dramatic about it, but yes, the animator’s and character designers based Treasure Planet Jim on James Dean, and yes, they did a good job.
I mean, look at the eye-mask effect and the line under the eye along the cheekbone:
That hand-drawn, animated Jim Hawkins could be channeling James Dean’s ghost
Anyone else just loves that they're sticking to the infinite darkness face design for Leon in death island? Like id leon has the prettiest face design (after the remakes)
"People say that with time and experience, the challenges will get easier to overcome. It'll come like a second nature to you...
But they forget to tell you that sometimes, the challenges are also better preparing themselves against you."
Everyday I lie back and stare at the ceiling in awe thinking about how André Peña learned how to do the lighter tricks with his hand just so he could do them as Luis
Forget the Disney Live Action Remakes. They should just record the Broadway Shows and make them available for purchase or on Disney Plus. Who’s with me?
I'm so tired of shows that absolutely ignore the source material and feel like they straight up don't understand what's important about it, just make a different show why even bother at this point.
listen the avatar netflix remake isn't as bad as the Shyamalan, but like. The dialogue is so bad. No one on the writing team had any sense of nuance - literally pointed to the screen 3 separate times and said: "exposition dump" like, really, Gran-Gran??? We've heard that a few times already!
Also I thought starting with Sozin's comet was a cool idea, but, like. The audience lost the sense of surprise when the Gaang showed up and everyone was dead. Like, we knew that, we saw that. The payoff wasn't there with Aang going almost avatar state, because we saw Gyatso die already - we already felt that pain when Sozin burned him to death on camera, ya can't wring it out twice!
ALSO - having all the airbenders gather at the Southern Air Temple instead of the systemic plan of wiping the airbenders out one temple at a time kinda...removes some of the seriousness and impact from the Fire Nation's assault. Like, these people are supposed to be expert planners, revolutionizing war machinery, and...*checks notes* flying hundreds of feet up with their fire powers?? Wtf??
