Something about the way Ariel’s siren song saved Eric.

Something about the way Eric fell in love with her siren song first.

Something about the way that when Ariel gave up her song, Eric was finally given the chance to love her for her.

(And boy, did he fall hard.)

Something about the way that Eric’s love was finally made whole when Ariel herself became whole.

Something about the way Ariel was able to love him with her whole self after reconciling with her past with her father.

there’s something nice about the fact that the lyric “the only thing I haven’t done yet is died” from the first song off Infinity on High kinda lines up with “nowhere left for us to go but heaven” from Love From the Other Side. the first track we hear from so much (for) starlight. my brain likes that so much. ahving thoughts and feelings ough

mike flannagan essentially saying that greed and capitalism and the hunger for money (not borne out of a need for safety and contentment, but for power and the urge for more) is death to an artist. that poetry and truth and art cannot live in tandem with greed. that they are anathema to the duplicitous, treasonous and covetous nature of the wealthy and gluttonous.
