Logan smiled when the front door opened to the warm aroma of vanilla, nutmeg, and peanut butter. “Pat?” he called, toeing off his shoes and arranging them in the shoe rack. Patton’s left shoe sat next to the rack, the other behind the door, and he scooped them up and placed them alongside his own with a little chuckle.

“Pat? I’m home~”

His voice cut off in another laugh when Patton stepped out from the hall and wrapped both arms around him. “You are home!” he cheered, then tugged Logan toward the kitchen. “And just in time… I’ve been making sweets for my Sweet.” With a wink, Patton tapped Logan’s lips with a still-warm peanut butter oatmeal cookie and he took a bite.

“Hmm, these are quite good,” he hummed, taking another bite when prompted. While he chewed, Patton finished the cookie with a grin. “Shall we make a proper dinner, as well?” he asked, glancing around the kitchen for evidence of actual food.

“Already done!” Patton opened the refrigerator and pulled out a caprese salad and cold roast salmon. “There’s bread, too, but the cookies overpower the yeasty yumminess.” Hands full with the feast he’d prepared, he smiled at Logan. “Set the table for us?” he murmured. “Then you can tell me your news.”

“You remembered.” Logan looked over his shoulder, half-way to the cabinet. “I barely mentioned it this morning…”

“Oh, Lo,” Patton set down the food and cradled Logan’s face between his hands. “Of course I remembered. Now, let’s get everything on the table because I want to hear everything!”

Patton bumped against his hip, gently almost a brush, really, as he hurried off to gather drinks. He flashed another grin at Logan once he’d arranged the plates and utensils. “Nicely done, Lo,” he nodded and Logan’s cheeks warmed. “Thank you.”

“You’re very welcome, Pat,” he looked at the floor, happy bubbles bursting in his chest. “This is the least I can do after you’ve prepared dinner for us.”

“I had a half day,” he shrugged, fingers dancing over Logan’s shoulder as he slid past and sat down. Patton inclined his head toward Logan’s chair and he quickly sat, as well. “So, Lo, tell me everything!”

“Well, Mr. Wolf called me into his office and…” He smoothed down his tie and sweater vest, an unpleasant twinge in his stomach at the memory of his nervousness. “He wasn’t smiling. He told me he’d hired Gordon for the head librarian role and I feared…” Logan looked up when Patton reached across the little table and took his hand. Bright blue eyes stared back at him, stared right past his nervousness as though they could see right to his core. He smiled. “I feared the worst, that he’d not only decided I wasn’t good enough for the role but had…”

Patton’s eyebrows raised at ‘good enough’ and he visibly held back a reminder of what he thought about that. Logan squeezed his hand back and continued. “But instead… he offered me the Assistant Directorship.”

“Lo!” Patton cried, jumping out of his seat and pulling him along. He wrapped Logan in a bear hug. “Lo, you did it! I’m so proud of you!!”

Cheeks aflame, Logan buried his face in the crook of Patton’s neck and hugged back. “W-why, thank you, Pat,” he mumbled.

He squeezed Logan a little tighter, large, warm hands rubbing over his shoulders and his back. “Nothing to thank, Lo! You earned this! You more than earned this! You deserve to finally get some credit for the amazing work you do!”

Bathed in the warmth of Patton’s praise, Logan melted in his embrace. His lips curled into a dopey smile, grateful he hid his face against Patton’s shoulder. “You deserve more than a little credit yourself, Pat. I couldn’t’ve done this without you.”

Patton pulled back, still smiling, but eyes stern. “Yes, you could. And you would have. Your hard work is yours, Lo, and the library is lucky to have you and so is Mr. Wolf.” His fingers drummed against Logan’s shoulders, hands firm but gentle. “I’m proud of you and I hope you can find a bit of space inside your overthinking mind to be proud, too.”

He drew him close again and Logan sank into his arms. “You’re incredible, Lo,” he murmured, holding him tight enough Logan felt their hearts syncopating. “And I’ll tell you that everyday ‘til it seeps in.”

“Thanks, Pat,” Logan whispered. “I…”

“Hmm,” Patton hummed. “Me too, Lo.”

luffy trying to free himself even if it meant ripping his own hands, from the book prison on the whole cake island - really gave off the same energy as zoro trying to cut his legs off to free himself from being made into a candle statue on the little garden island, all those arcs before

(whole cake island, ch 850-852)

(little garden, ch 121-122)

and poor nami had to be there both times to see those idiots do this to themselves askjsd

(and fortunately, both times they were saved before they managed to actually cut the limbs)

(the zoro on little garden when luffy asks about the danger and he asnwers "no, no problem here." is kind of similar to the thriller bark's "nothing happened." ;-; something something strength for luffy, no weaknesses shown huh.. i wonder if there will ever be a follow up or consequences about this type of behavior sometime maybe even more later.. )

this part about both luffy and zoro acting in such similar way when captured that they would rather sever their limbs than to stay in that place - even if they were nowhere near each other at the moment, but have this type of same thinking woven into their being -

it reminded me of the time on fishman island when nami was also the only one present both times when luffy and zoro (separately) talked about how they didn't want to be heroes, because heroes had to share food/booze:

they really share the same braincell!!

(one more comparison- there's something similar about the cutting their own limb to protect something precious to them, to free themselves, just like kyros did in dressrosa flashbacks when he went up against doflamingo, ch 742, 776,. when even though he sacrificed the leg- it allowed him to fight even without it later on.)

(and last point - there's also something about this theme of losing limbs to protect something - when sanji had the handcuffs threatening to explode if he left the whole cake island, but i'm not at the end of that arc yet, so I'm not sure if it comes up again except his sister telling him they were fake, but still even before - he was trully terrified to risk it - both for his hands bc they cook for luffy(!!his captain) and for strawhats, but all the other threats he had to think about! truly what an intense and complicated arc!)

You can see Kyros’s speech pattern changing over the course of his flashback- he starts out speaking very aggressively and rudely to everyone, including King Riku, using ore and omae, and swearing a lot. Basically talking the same as the vast majority of the thugs and pirates in One Piece, including most of our main characters.

After he becomes a commander, though, he starts addressing the royal family much more respectfully, calling Riku 王様/ou-sama and the princesses あなた方/anata-gata. He also switches to the more polite 私/watashi here for his ‘I’ pronoun. And later still, he starts using the familiar キミ/kimi for Rebecca and Scarlett.

So you basically see how he eventually ends up in the pattern he’s been using through the whole arc as the toy soldier- watashi for himself and kimi for most everybody else.

In order to quell the feuds and schemes (and synthesization) from Administrator, they bake cake---as means of a peace offering & distraction/spying.

32/33 was part of Reki’s mini drabbles (material edition 28 and 29) but later extended/branched out to it’s own comphrehensive series. It’s distributed in 3 chapters: IF YOU WERE HERE, IF YOU WISH IT and IF WE COULD WALK TOGETHER.

I'm not a big artist at all (I'm hardly an artistontumblr in particular) but I do REBLOG a lot of art, and I just want to say bc I've gotten a massive influx of new followers...

Don't tag beautiful art with character-critical stuff. More than one person in my notes is doing this.

If a beautiful piece makes you feel regret because "I wish I liked this character but they're a pig"... Don't put it in the tags. The artist sees tags, sees someone criticizing this character who they clearly might like, considering they put effort and talent and care into a piece of art about them.

Your tags are telling the artist "wow, it's a shame that YOU, this gorgeous artist, like this TRASH CHARACTER." It is not the solely-character-critical tag you think it is.

Even if it was, even if the artist agreed with you about the flaws of a character, it still sucks as an artist to think that that's the emotion that garners a response about their art... a response that's not based on their art at all.

Fandom could all be just a little bit nicer if you make a separate post about character critical opinions and tag that appropriately. Fandom would retain more artists if they weren't made to feel shitty for their passions, and underappreciated for their work. It contributes to their mass exodus to twitter, or the closing of their commissions, or worse, leaving the internet all together.

Fandom would be a better place if we were a little bit more thoughtful about how our engagement with material is tied to engagement with the fans who like and create based on that material.

❝Sheikh-ul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said that this DOES NOT mean in any way that Allāh is in the midst of, or surrounded by the heavens, as none of the righteous predecessors of this Ummah (community) or its Imams ever stated that ; rather they AGREED that Allāh is established on His Throne above the heavens and is distinguished from His creation with no similarity whatsoever between Him and His creation in terms of His Attributes, Names, or Power.❞

Week 6 Day 1: Slaying my Dragons

Breakfast:

Lunch: Vegetable Lasagna = 480 calories

Dinner: Kielbasa, green beans and potatoes = 406 calories

Snack: grapes, thin mint almonds, peppermint cheesecake, chocolate milk = 742 calories

Total: 1628 calories || 2000 goal

End of the Day Thoughts:

If you’ve noticed my absence, unlikely though that may be, then you might be curious as to where I disappeared to. It’s the nature of these sorts of online communities that we all sort of agree to accept that sometimes people just disappear. Hopefully temporarily, as in my case.

I dealt with a lot of mental health issues. A type of perfectionism that kept me awake late into the night because I wasn’t good at anything. I’m not digging for compliments. It is just hard for me to be here around people who are doing so well on their journeys and feeling like I’m constantly starting over, tripping, picking myself off and dusting myself off. But you never get all the dust off and I was starting to look a little dirty.

I wish I could finish this with a little paragraph about something I learned. A cute analogy about cleaning myself off and looking all shiny and new. I didn’t learn anything like that. I didn’t learn anything at all. I’m still dirty, still tripping, still dusting myself off. I didn’t fix my head or my motivation or discipline. I just spent a little time on the floor and, when I was ready, I got back up again.
