Finally yeeting together a rough sketch of this month's bird OC(s). I wound up using a pair of identical twins for this one.

Phobos and Deimos Avadat are the youngest children of two high-ranking Talons named Cepheus (deceased) and Cassieopeia Avadat. They've got three older sibilngs: Hamlet (deceased), Monsoon and Andromeda (deceased). By the time the show starts, both of them are in their 40s.

Phobos was a commander of Cyclonia's cavalry division, often at the frontlines riding a pegasus into the thick of battle. Until a skirmish with the Rebel Ducks went seriously wrong and left him scarred and disabled (the picture above is pre-injury as I'm trying to pin down his base appeareance) about a year or two before the return of the Storm Hawks. Instead of retiring outright, he applied to transfer to the beastkeeper division, and now spends his time caring for the pegasus ranks and Cyclonia's other bestial numbers (occucrows, trackbeasts, etc.). It's allowed for him to be able to spend more time with his partner and children, but has severely disappointed his mother. He no longer cares, and some part of him blames her and the pressure she put on him to excel in the Talon ranks on his previous inability to bond with his children.

Deimos is just as, if not more successful than his twin. He's the leader of one of Cyclonia's specialist squadrons, the Fog Howlers. They're a strike team and one of the major players in the invasion and subsequent takeover of Merbia. He's still going strong and working to rise even further up the ranks of the Talon army. Far less laid-back than Phobos, he is of the opinion that Cyclonia's royal family has run its course, and the Empire is due for a change in leadership chosen by the people. He's not the only person with this opinion, and this insurrectionist group is known as the Disciples. Their choice in new ruler? Dark Ace. Phobos and Deimos's nephew.

Been busy, but just in case one was quite curious about some of the pieces of the Puzzle regarding some pieces of Religious History and other pieces on Rebellion areas. Anyway, decided today’s page was going to be on dead things and their history in terms of Religious History and their place in the Rebellions. That being said, there’s not much else to really say about certain aspects in terms of their placements and all, but there’s very much enough to go on in regards to tracing history towards a Rebellion era even for many of the churches as far back as their discoveries in the Books and other aspects of their own culture. However it’s still quite complex and some aspects are controversial to the point of some of their people chose to leave as they found that they would be forced to leave if they were found out as a Dishonorable and Disgraceful person. That being said they were aware things were changing so people left as early as 1863. That bringing them to look for themselves again, during a rough patch of the Churches so they stayed home and sought after their personal life.

Aaaah he looks great!! I've loved watching you put this AU together and now we have DAD!

@far-side-skies He's here hehe Dmitry Downwood. Captain of Cyclonia's squadron the Thunder Vipers, respected for his skills in battle. He's also the father of Aerrow Strike. I know, I know. Confusing, right? Well, I created an AU that I've only really talked about with a few friends on discord which I call the Red Sparrow AU. An AU in which Aerrow is not the son of Lightning Strike, but instead his nephew, and that his father is actually Cyclonian. His mother, Lana (another character I created for this AU. Lightning's stubborn thrill-seeker twin sister), and the Cyclonian meet by getting trapped on a Terra together and have to work together to survive. A true enemies to lovers story. The story is mainly focused on Aerrow and his journey of self discovery and accepting his heritage, so I haven't really gotten a chance to develop his parents more. But I'm working on it! Designing Dmitry was fun and I'm very proud about how his uniform came out.

Rook Joins the Book Club - Mod

As one of the many people sad that Rook wasn't included in the Book Club, I set out to fix it by editing the codex entries in the game :)

Ryder!!! He looks so good, and I love the little patterns on his sleeves 💜🩵💜

This month's challenge character for @far-side-skies is Ryder Dieder, the Talon Austry's younger brother.

He is 14, and yes, looks a lot like Aerrow.

Ryder lives in rural Cyclonia with his parents and twin sister, Chi. At first, he had no interest in the war and wanted to grow up to be a racer.

However, after an incident where he and Austry are captured by Atmosian forces and left to the chief interrogator, Ryder decided he wanted to fight. He never wants anyone to suffer the way he and his brother did.

Austry and his mother don't think he should fight. So, to compromise, they let him join the the storm hawks reserve team.

I'm sure that sounds a bit odd, but the reserve team is largely full of double agents, lead by Lynn.

THE LIVING MUSEUM: CHAPTER 1

As luck would have it, the detective had a case that had just been given to her by the Chief Constable Barton (talk about a high order!) I watched as she leafed through the folders on her desk before slipping out a small stack of papers and bringing them over to me. Clearing her throat, Detective Layton ran over the details…

“At approximately 2:00pm, a fire alarm in the Natural History Museum sounded. Around 5 minutes later, visitors in the museum reported that they witnessed several exhibits, and I quote, ‘come to life before their eyes.’ There were visitors who told officials that the suits of armour on display had started to move and raise their weapons, visitors who reported that paintings on the walls started to melt and blink, and visitors who said that the dinosaur skeleton exhibits had opened their mouths and moved their heads. But the most damning of all seemed to be the Tyrannosaurus rex exhibit, who not just moved but assumed a lunging stance with its full body, as well as somehow roared.”

“Right, that’s odd. And?”

“Well, since the officials were only able to question the visitors outside of the museum due to everyone having been evacuated because of the fire alarm, naturally they went inside to check the exhibits themselves.”

“And they found…?”

“Nothing. They did a whole sweep of the area, but they found nothing out of place. All exhibits were in their normal places, the paintings were just fine, and everything was untouched.”

“Wow…”

“I assume the reason that Barton held onto what information they had on it and handed it to me was due to the witnesses. Despite the fact that the Yard found no obvious signs of tampering, everyone swears up and down the walls that the museum had seemingly come to life at that moment.”

“...That is a proper mystery. And these files are all we have on the matter?”

“Well, in a sense, yes. These are all the files we have,” Detective Layton muses as she taps the bottom of the stack on the coffee table. Then, getting up, she drops the stack back in their folder. “...Which is why I was thinking of heading over to the museum myself to do a bit of personal investigation.”

“As expected of the great Professor Layton,” I say cheekily as I stand and follow her to the front door, grabbing my jacket off the hanger in the process. The detective sighs lightly as she places her hat on her head, pulling the brim over her eyes in mock disappointment. “Please, Ms. Altava. It's just Detective.”

Now lifting the brim, she smiles brightly as she grabs her umbrella.

“So, Ms. Altava… let’s go investigate this living museum with our own two eyes, shall we?”

And with that, our adventure into the peculiar museum begi-

“Ah, but before that, I have here the directions to the museum written for me by Barton, and it seems to be a puzzle of some sort. As you’re now my assistant, why don’t you give it a shot? Think of it as a warm-up of things to come.”

…Right. She’s Layton’s daughter, after all. How could I have forgotten? …And are we sure they're not really related by blood…?
