Uno Reverse

The uno reverse card meme is, in essence, an upgraded version of the original "no u" meme. The gist of both is that a statement spoken by one person about someone else applies more accurately to the speaker than the person they were referring to. While initially sarcastic in nature, used in mocking contexts, it has outgrown that limitation in recent times and may be applied to compliments and other nice exchanges.

In terms of this challenge, this prompt refers to a situation someone was perpetrating being turned against them by the person they were perpetrating it against. If person A was planning to shoot person B, person B might shoot person A first. This can be as expectable or surprising as the author deems fit.

It could also relate to person A attempting to sacrifice themself for person B, only for person B to sacrifice themself to save person A, and so forth. There is no limit to how this prompt may be applied. Since it is originary from a meme, crack is also acceptable.

This is a short story/flash fiction submitted for a Penana competition ‘Tropes Reversed.’ My reversed tropes were ‘friends to strangers’ and ‘needing space.’

Brodie had to give it to the government official. This punishment was certainly a unique one, although he wasn’t sure that it was packing the punch they intended.

He and Nathaniel had built that bomb together, yes, and they had hidden it in the undercarriage of the governor’s car, and they had detonated it from afar. But the target was intended to be the governor himself, not the man’s twelve year old daughter. A small change of plans, a school cancellation due to weather, and a little girl with fatal shrapnel injuries had derailed all of their plans. They had been so sure that the public would welcome them as heroes after killing the man who had revoked so many civic rights after taking power. But even in the face of so many disappeared journalists, students, and intellectuals, the murder of a child did not win them public favor.

Brodie had expected execution by firing squad. But it turned out that the governor had been reading Satre when his daughter died and here they were.

Hell is other people.

Now he and Nathaniel were housed in a single room together. No amenities except a lamp, the most basic of facilities, and the occasional food delivery. No company except one another. No books, no beds, no sunlight. No distractions. They had taken the man’s beloved child from his life forever and in return, he had doomed them to a lifetime of never escaping one another.

Frankly, Brodie believed that the man had made a mistake. He and Nathaniel were like brothers. They had met in the revolutionary fervor of an underground student organization and connected right away. Their minds were of one and with time, their plans had grown far beyond the scope of the secret pamphlets and newspapers and protests on which the other students dedicated their time. No, they would make real change.

It hadn’t gone so well. But if Brodie was to be stuck with anyone, it should be Nathaniel, with whom this entire journey had begun. They had done nothing wrong and they could both rest with that knowledge.

Nathaniel had made a horrifying mistake. Caught up in all the rhetoric and enthusiasm, he had taken the life of a child. How was he any better than the soldiers who beat people in the streets? What had he become?

At the beginning of this crusade, he had been so sure of himself. Of course, they were on the right path. Of course, blood should be spilt in return for blood. But now, with nothing but the room and Brodie to remind him of his errors, this no longer rang true. Even if that little girl had not been the one in the car, Nathaniel would still have been responsible for the death of a human being. Even if that man were abominable, he was still a person. Nathaniel had lost sight of that. How many days had he agonized over the disappearance of his older sister? Wondered how the soldiers who had reportedly dragged her away in the night had failed to look her humanity in the face? And now, he had become what he so despised.

But what he despised more was Brodie.

“Why are you weeping, huh? I hope it’s for yourself and not that girl. She would have only grown up to be like her father. We did the country a favor even if we missed our original target. Maybe it will inspire others to action.”

“She was a child, Brodie! Don’t you recognize what we’ve done?”

“I know exactly what we’ve done and I defend it.”

Every waking moment, Nathaniel was forced to stare his sins in the face. And that face belonged to Brodie. Hatred grew like a creeping vine.

Brodie paced the room while Nathaniel stared at the wall in silence. After hours of arguing until their voices had gone hoarse, Nathaniel had stopped answering Brodie’s provocations.

How could Nathaniel betray him like this? Brodie had thought that they were ideological equals. Brothers. And now, Nathaniel thought him a murderer? Blamed him for everything that went wrong as though the other man had no agency of his own. Pathetic.

Brodie strode up to the lamp and turned it off, yanking hard on the cord. It swayed from the force, making a ringing sound against the floor. They were immersed in darkness.

“Turn the light on!” Nathaniel shouted.

“Why should I? I don’t want to see you, moping in that corner!”

Nathaniel stood up and returned the light to the room. They stared at each other. Nathaniel’s eyes were bloodshot.

“Of all the people to be stuck with! I would rather have faced the firing squad!” Nathaniel shrieked, face turning puce with rage, “Every time I look at you, it makes me want to claw my eyes out!”

Brodie laughed bitterly.

“Well, you haven’t a knife to do it with! You ensured that by failing to follow the car’s driver like I told you to!”

“I was only a pawn to you, wasn’t I? Just an impressionable little lackey!”

Brodie had never so desperately wished for solitude. Nathaniel returned to the white wall on his half of the room and began to scratch at the surface. The count of days on the wall continued to increase.

After three weeks of spats, the occasional fist fight, and an aching, desperation-inducing need to rid themselves of the other, an unusual food delivery arrived. Nathaniel glanced back at Brodie who was eating as usual. He discreetly opened the note that had been hidden in his tray.

‘Dear comrade,

During the trial, I could see that you felt genuine remorse for what happened to my little girl. As such, I would like to offer you a pardon. If you remain the only man living in the room, I will open the door and return your freedom.

Signed,

This mourning father and dedicated governor’

Nathaniel slipped the note into his mouth and ate it. Was it really possible? Escape from this place? From Brodie? But what if he wasn’t the only one who had received the note? If that was the case, time was ticking. His self-serving former friend would surely act sooner rather than later.

Could he really kill Brodie? He had spent weeks agonizing over his choices, convinced that taking any life was wrong. But it was Brodie who had led him to that choice in the first place. Maybe this act would finally balance the scales.

Brodie was positive that Nathaniel had received a similar note in his meal. The man was acting too suspicious to believe otherwise.

‘Dear comrade,

Due to occupancy limits, we will be downsizing to solitary cells. Since we cannot fit both of you, please decide as you see fit who should receive such a cell. The other will be sent as a dissection specimen to the nearby medical school in service to the country’s students as a gesture of my benevolence.

Could he really kill Nathaniel? They had been like brothers once. But now his presence made Brodie’s skin crawl. He wanted nothing more than that solitary cell to himself. Nathaniel wanted atonement, yes? Maybe death was the answer that Brodie could provide.

The governor had lied. No one ever came to retrieve Nathaniel. Nor had they come to retrieve Brodie’s body. Now he was finally alone. And he would never be free of Brodie, stuck in the same room, forever...

listen. i want to tell ye that i have infinite reasons for making this. that i've been designing this for weeks, months even. but i can't. this happened because i saw one (1) meme and aligned that with two (2) cups of coffee. either way besties, you're all getting a strangely detailed list of reasons to drop your muse into another muse's lap. you wanna switch the roles? add a [ REVERSE ] if you want your muse to be the lap that's being sat in! don't add to this list, don't claim it as your own, i'll curse all your potatoes to be soapy and sad to consume.

[ SHAVE ]: sender sits in the receiver's lap so they can carefully shave the last of the receiver's stubble from their face.

[ MAKE-UP ]: sender sits in the receiver's lap in order to get a better vantage point to apply makeup to their face.

[ SNIP-SNIP ]: sender sits in the receiver's lap whilst giving them a haircut.

[ HAIR ]: sender sits in the receiver's lap so that the receiver can style or just play with their hair in peace.

[ CAR ]: sender ends up sitting in the receiver's lap whilst in a very crowded car together.

[ STRADDLE ]: sender sits in the receiver's lap with one leg on either side of their legs, straddling them effectively.

[ EMBRACE ]: sender settles in the receiver's lap to give them a long, well-deserved hug in comfort.

[ CARRY ]: sender, having been carried by the receiver for other reasons, winds up sitting in their lap once they sit down.

[ MOVIE ]: while watching a movie together (and possibly being so distracted by the film that they don't realize what they're doing) the sender settles back into the receiver's lap.

[ CHAIR ]: the distinct lack of available chairs in a room results in the sender having no choice but to sit in the receiver's lap.

[ CLOSENESS ]: after having been apart for a considerable length of time, the sender sits into the receiver's lap just to be close to them.

[ PRETEND ]: in a bid to persuade others that they're in a relationship (even though they're probably not) the sender climbs into the receiver's lap to convince the on-lookers of their legitimacy.

[ LEARN ]: sender sits in the receiver's lap so they can teach them a particular practical skill (e.g. pottery, knot-tying etc.)

[ ACCIDENT ]: the sender, unaware that the seat they're trying to claim is occupied, drops into the receiver's lap without realizing it.

[ EXHAUSTION ]: the sender, surrounded by nothing but uncomfortable places to rest in, finds a solution by sitting in the receiver's lap in order to rest and possibly sleep.

[ CHILLED ]: the sender and receiver find themselves in a particularly cold room, leading the sender to sit in the receiver's lap in order to share body heat.

[ KISS ]: the sender lowers themselves into the receiver's lap in order to kiss them properly.

[ FLIRT ]: the sender, only just beginning to explore the romantic side of a relationship with the receiver, sits in their lap in order to express their feelings clearly.

[ ROMANCE ]: the sender, in a well-established romantic relationship with the receiver, sits in their lap just because they can.

[ THRONE ]: having found the receiver sitting in their throne, the sender sits in their lap in order to symbolically and physically share the seat.

Jason Todd Week 2025 will run January 6th - 12th this January!

There will be two aspects to this event:

The main part is the prompt challenges. There are three prompts per day. The first is a word prompt, the second is a general trope, and the last is a fandom-specific prompt. You can use one, two, or three of them—it's up to you! Each prompt also has a song corresponding to it in the playlist. A playlist guide will be out shortly so that you can know what songs there are if you don't use Spotify.

If you post on Tumblr, you can use the tag #jasontoddweek2025. There's also an AO3 collection (Jason_Todd_Week_2025).

For your filtering, this blog will tag reblogs with #reblogs, the day, the prompt(s), media type, any non-Jason characters, any romantic or sexual ships (with full character name/full character name), and any warnings. Anything explicit will be tagged #explicit. Example: #reblogs #day 6 #scars #enemy to caretaker #fic #tim drake #gun violence. Please filter out tags you don’t want to see.

Because I am not able to read/see every work posted (due to time constraints and personal boundaries), some warnings or characters may be untagged if they are not in the original post’s tags.

The secondary aspect is another opportunity to participate if you don't feel comfortable creating art, writing, or other media. Gloryholes - A person inserting their sexual organ through a hole in the wall with the intention to be pleasured from the other side.

Anonymous sex - Here's an idea: masquerade balls.

Orgasm Control - Can include Edging, Forced Orgasms, Orgasm denial.

Make up sex - Sex after an argument.

Mirror sex - Sex in front of a mirror.

Sensory Deprivation - Blocking stimuli from one or more of the senses. Example - Blindfolds.

Dacryphilia - Being turned on by your partner crying during sex.

Sexual Fantasy - Sharing/being made to share about a sexual fantasy, masturbating to a sexual fantasy, or helping your partner live out a sexual fantasy.

Role reversal - Swapping the giving and receiving role during intercourse.

Voyeurism - secretly watching someone participate in sexual activities or do something private and intimate like taking off their clothes.

BG3 2025 Creative Challenge!

Baldur's Gate 3 Fandom Artists, Writers, and Creatives!

I would like to invite you to a year of prompts to create whatever you would like! SFW, NSFW, whatever medium you would like to create in, the choice is yours! The idea is that we have on prompt per month so it should be easier to follow along without becoming overloaded. You don't have to create something specifically for the event either - if you have a WIP or other work you're publishing that month that fits the description you are more than welcome to add that in! I'll make a new post at the start of each month with the details of that month's challenge prompt, but this will be our masterpost to start the year off with a bang. Details below the cut!

The Year Of Prompts

January - New Year New You Pick a new character, trope, or pairing. Something you haven’t tried before. Make it a challenge to do something new and different! February - Romance Novels Go for something romantic, or if romance isn’t your cup of tea try something around the Necromancy of Thay instead! March - Marching Forwards March to your goal to finish a WIP or LongFic, or March into a new world by making something in an AU! April - Fools Rush In Make something humorous, something fun, whether it’s based on a meme or a joke pairing or just something with a bit more whimsy and some laughs~ May - Maybe? What If? Reverse a trope or reimagine a part of the canon - what if things were different? 

June - June Bugs Create something centred around a game glitch or exploit, past or present! July - Why Would July To Me? A piece around lies, deceptions, and other ways the truth can be twisted or obscured. August - When In Rome… A piece themed around the customs of specific races, backgrounds, regions, or Guilds. Are they followed or broken? That’s up to you! September - Seven Deadly Sins Pick one, or more, of the classic “seven deadly sins” and see how that can relate to one or more characters or tropes. October - Days of the Dead Create something around a character death, a memorial, a lingering ghost, or find a way a character might cheat their death or be brought back from it~ 

November - Gnomevember Either create something centred on Gnome characters from the game, or the other story points around them (Steel Watch, Iron Throne, Runepowder, etc) December - Season of Giving Create a surprise gift for someone in fandom, or write a piece around a gift being given by or to a character or characters!

Rules

The rules are very simple!

Create your piece in 2025, preferably within the prompt month but if you post a little early or late that's fine too!

All pieces must be your creations or a collaboration - No AI or chatbot content

You are free to work in whatever medium you like for each and every prompt!

Set your own goal - you can do a short 100-500 word minific, some simple sketches, or write a whole 10k word one shot epic, or draw a full page comic. What matters is that it's a goal YOU want to achieve!

There will be options to submit prompts and fill prompts in the AO3 collections - this is entirely your choice! You can take a prompt if you like, work on something you had already started, or create something entirely new!

The Goal

The aim really is simple - to set some targets, and work on at least 12 things this year so at this time next year you can look back on your progress and celebrate your achievements. If you miss a month or turn in late, that's fine! Do what works for you!

AO3 Collections

For those of you that would like to, there will be a parent collection for the year event as a whole and some sub-collections for each month to allow us to keep everything nice and organised. It's completely optional if you would like to put your work on AO3 or not - you're more than welcome to just keep it on Tumblr or wherever you usually share your works!

This event is for you to use however you feel best, to inspire creativity, working towards manageable goals, and trying something different.

The Fandom Fallout wiki is still dominated by white supremacists and child abusers. It is a textbook high-control group. Nukapedia is a racist institution of abuse. It is not safe. Any marginalized person who joins that community will be bullied into defending the alt-right power structure, or they will be hatestalked, silenced, and defamed. They will warp reality to paint you as a monster and then dehumanize you. They will follow you offsite and anonymously harass you. They ignore all proof that does not serve alt-right domination.

They dehumanize anyone who calls out their racism, 'because it's unjustifiable to call us racist,' but they obsessively police people of color for making white people uncomfortable, and incessantly call them "racist against white people" or even "reverse racist." They say 'there is no discrimination at NP' because 'the trolls who were prejudiced against white people were already banned.'

They overwhelmingly favor alt-right users who have never contributed over progressive wiki contributors. Many influential in-group voices have never edited the wiki at all.

They punish anyone who calls another user alt-right, but they also explicitly allow alt-right rhetoric in the current linked server. Talk of addressing the alt-right problem prompts the in-group to start identifying "alt-left" users to punish. Any discussion pertaining to their abuses or biases will be immediately perverted into something they can use to further harm their victims and consolidate their power.

They lie and spread hate speech to provoke reactions and then use those reactions as an excuse to dehumanize people. They pretend "policy" forces them to abuse the people they target. Alt-right-adjacent users are immune to being banned at Nukapedia; any ban against an alt-right user will always be overturned by the head admin, even for non-contributing malicious vandals, and the banning staffer will be severely punished if they challenge the decision.

I cannot stress enough that over the past year they have purged nearly every person of color and queer person from the community. They are brutally unfair to marginalized editors, and they dehumanize and hunt them after they leave. They continue to harm and provoke them with lies under the pretense of "enforcing policy".

Their leadership abusively deny reality to protect eachother and harm their targets. They spread nazi propaganda. They harm children for fun. They engage in the degradation of women they hate, up to and including sexual degradation.

The community has died. The remaining members openly lament the sudden lack of activity. They have enabled anonymous editing because they crucified or scared off nearly every editor.

In 2023, Fallout IP personnel used to engage with Nukapedia. Now, nobody of repute involves themselves with Nukapedia, because it is a hate community.

They punish people who tell the truth. They will force you to affirm their lies to earn basic respect. They will harass and bully you if you refuse to validate their abuses, and when you push back, they will call you a bully, ban you, shit on your name for months and months, and send you anon hate offsite if possible.

The recent death of my cat was the most traumatic event of my life. They messaged me saying I deserved it.

In response to my posting this they will tell lies about me and argue that the admins need more power. They obsessively watch me and treat my acknowledgement of reality as persecution. They compare me to a demon and dehumanize anyone who admits they speak to me. Nukastaff have discussed suing me with the explicit goal of financial harassment. They want to intimidate me into silence so they can keep abusing people unchallenged.
