Got the latest actor/character reveal for "Rings of Power" season 2 today thanks to Fellowship of Fans!!! :D We now know who Kevin Eldon is playing.
We knew the dwarf Narvi was coming from one of FOF's earlier scoops but now they're revealing that Kevin Eldon is playing him. I actually know Kevin from a lot of my other shows and movies, most recently as the quirky vicar on "Sanditon" and from appearing in "Shadow and Bone". He's played a lot of comedic roles and that could fit with how they're going to portray Narvi and him working with Celebrimbor and making the Doors of Durin. FOF also seems to think the show will show his and Celebrimbor's work relationship to contrast with that of Celebrimbor and Halbrand/Sauron/Annatar (or whatever the show will call that version of Sauron) too. Still some wondering if he could be part of the 7 dwarves who get a ring too.

The Rings of Power Review –
Hmmm, we are now five episodes in and after last week’s Eldest and this week’s outing, it is clear that some fracture lines are appearing this season. On the one hand, we have story…

Ball turret gunner Sgt Benedict Borostowski at his station on B-17F “Invasion II”. The plane would go down over Oldenburg, Germany after taking flak and having its number 2 engine shot off by Luftwaffe fighters.
17 April 1943, Target: Bremen, Aircraft Plant
While over the target “Invasion 2nd” took flak hits and was attacked by German fighters. Three fighters came in head-on at 1200 O’clock level and shot off the front of the No. 2 engine. Cpt. O’Neill rang the bail-out bell and called out over the intercom for the crew to leave the aircraft.
The ball turret gunner, T/Sgt Benedict B. Borostowski, came up into the fuselage and went to the partly open waist door. The door was jammed and would not open further. The waist gunners, S/Sgts William B. King, left waist, and Eldon R. Lapp, right waist, were sitting in front of the door, unable to squeeze out. Sgt Borostowski stepped up and one at a time put a foot between their shoulders, and in turn, pushed both gunners through the narrow opening. The others in the rear of the aircraft had already left. The tail gunner, S/Sgt Aaron S. Youell, dropped through the tail escape hatch. The radio operator, S/Sgt Charles J. Melchiondo, and the flight engineer, T/Sgt Harry Goldstein, went out through the bomb bay. There was no one left to push Sgt Borostowski out. So, he went to the tail escape hatch and dropped out. The rest of the crew, including Cpt O’Neill and the copilot, 1Lt Robert W. Freihofer, bailed out through the nose hatch. The bombardier, Cpt Edwin R. Bush, detached the Norden bombsight and tossed it out the escape hatch before following the navigator, Cpt Edwin M. Carmichael, through the opening. All crewmen survived to become POWs.

Today in Great Lakes shipping history. June 5th.
1891: in heavy fog, the NORTHERN QUEEN (steel propeller freighter, 299 foot, 2,476 gross tons, built in 1889, at Cleveland, Ohio) struck the schooner FAYETTE BROWN (wooden schooner, 178 foot, 553 gross tons, built in 1868, at Cleveland, Ohio) about ten miles off Dummy Light on Lake Erie. The BROWN, which was loaded with stone blocks, quickly sank in over 60 feet of water. One of the schooner’s crewmen climbed aboard the QUEEN while the others barely had time to scramble up the schooner’s masts. Accounts of the accident differ. The schooner’s skipper claimed that the NORTHERN QUEEN continued on her journey while the schooner’s crew clung to the masts while the skipper of the NORTHERN QUEEN claimed that he tried to find survivors, but lost the wreck in the fog and reluctantly continued on his journey, figuring that there were no survivors. Nevertheless, about an hour after the disaster, the steamer ROBERT MILLS (wooden propeller freighter, 256 foot, 1,790 gross tons, built in 1888, at Buffalo, New York) came along, heard the cries of the unfortunate seamen clinging to the masts and rescued them. No lives were lost.
1947: the Canada Steamship Lines steamer EMPEROR, loaded with ore and bound for Ashtabula, hit the rocks off Isle Royale at 4:10 a.m. The vessel sank within minutes but the crew was able to launch 2 lifeboats. Captain Eldon Walkinshaw, First Mate D. Moray, and 10 other crew members drowned when one of the lifeboats overturned. Twenty-one other survivors were rescued by the U.S.C.G. cutter KIMBALL.
1961: Over the winter of 1960 – 1961, CHARLES M. SCHWAB was rebuilt by joining the forward end of the original SCHWAB with the after end of the former oil tanker GULFPORT. On this date in 1961 Captain Raphael “Dewey” Marsden conducted sea trials with the vessel on Lake Erie between Lorain and Cleveland.
1972: The PARKER EVANS was in collision with the upbound Erie Sand steamer SIDNEY E. SMITH JR just below the Blue Water Bridge, at Port Huron, Michigan. The SMITH sank in 20 minutes with no loss of life. The EVANS, with bow damage, proceeded to Port Weller Dry Docks for extensive repairs. As a result of this accident, on October 5, 1972, alternate one-way traffic between the Black River Buoy and Buoys One and Two in Lake Huron was agreed upon by the shipping companies. Also a call-in system was initiated to monitor traffic between the Detroit River Light and Buoys 7 and 8 in Lake Huron by the newly established Sarnia Traffic.
1979: while carrying corn on Lake Superior, CARTIERCLIFFE HALL (steel propeller bulk freighter, 730 foot, 18,531 gross tons, built in 1960, in Germany as a.) RUHR ORE) caught fire 10 miles north of Copper Harbor, Michigan. Her crew abandoned ship in two life rafts and one lifeboat. Six died in this tragedy while five were injured; four (including Captain Raymond Boudreault) were injured seriously enough to be flown to the University of Michigan Burn Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. U. S. Steel’s THOMAS W. LAMONT rescued 17 at 4:52 a.m. while CSL’s LOUIS R. DESMARAIS rescued two more. The CARTIERCLIFFE HALL was towed to Thunder Bay by the tug PENINSULA the following day.

16th February 2022
Her Majesty The Queen held her first face-to-face engagement since Prince Charles tested positive for COVID.
The Queen received the new Defence Services Secretary Major General Eldon Millar, and his predecessor Rear Admiral James Macleod in the Oak Room at Windsor Castle.
When asked how she was, The Queen quipped, “As you can see, I can’t move!”, as she supported herself on a walking cane.
Apart from that, Her Majesty looked well and seemed in good spirits.

*shakes you by the shoulders* It is a statement!! It is a statement!! I have no idea what it states exactly yet since we know pretty much nothing for now, but he has named the new queer character CARLOS which is the Spanish equivalent of CHARLES and CHUCK is short for Charles, and CHARLIE is short for Charles.
Carlos is a bisexual hippie kind of guy who plays the guitar and Robbie’s last episode for the show established Chuck as a bisexual sort-of-hippie kind of guy who plays the guitar.
Also this is just a feeling yet, because the connection between the names Chuck and Charlie, while a lot of spec has been written about it (bring it out guys! We have a new Charles to speculate about!), is based on pretty flimsy ground, but I do feel that there is something there, aka there is a connection between the names Chuck and Charlie (the scene where Eldon Styne mocks her by calling her “Chuckie” was written by Dabb, not Robbie, but the Stynes were created by Robbie, but I do realize this sounds like a stretch, but man I do devote too many of my thoughts to the alternate universe where Robbie was in full control of the Stynes arc until the end, not just the beginning. But, as usual, I’m getting overexcited and digressing!).
Anyway, Robbie likes his Charles queer characters, and the name Carlos is definitely a statement, and I absolutely want to hear the entire statement.
