"Who's that girl Dalton has been sneaking out with recently?" Richard asked, looking out of the window.
The boys were gathered in his and Charlie's room, doing homework. Well, they were supposed to be doing homework, but the books were abandoned after a few minutes when the boys started discussing the topic of Charlie Dalton. For the past few days he was seen walking away into the forest with a mysterious girl.
Charlie was just coming back from wherever he went with Y/n. Through the window, his friends could see him getting a quick peck on the cheek from Y/n, then the girl walked in the direction she came from and Charlie walked into the school's building.
What the boys couldn't see was Charlie stopping at the doors and turning around to catch a glimpse of Y/n walking away. The girl turned around as well and sent Charlie a smile. He weaved at her, but the girl didn't weave back, not wanting to catch unnecessary attention.
They weren't that noticable, actually they were pretty sneaky, but because of Richard's nosy personality, the little group of aspiring dead poets knew about them. Most of them would always say "don't act like it wasn't expected" or "it's not our business anyway" everytime Richard repeats the question, but eventually Neil spoke up about it.
"It's Y/n, she goes to Henley Hall," he sighed.
Neil wasn't very pleased about Charlie having interest in Y/n. Before Charlie met the girl, Neil thought of asking her out himself. The boys have been friends since childhood, which meant they were like brothers and as 'brothers' they had similar taste in women.
"Henley Hall?" A loud scoff escaped Cameron's mouth. "How did Dalton meet a girl from Henley Hall?"
"She plays Helena in Midsummer Night's Dream. Once Charlie came to watch our rehearsal and afterwards he introduced himself to her." Neil explained, not mentioning the fact that Charlie interrupted Neil's attempt to ask Y/n on a date.
"And now she willingly hangs out with him? How does Henley Hall allow that?"
"Henley Hall doesn't know about it," Charlie explained as he walked inside the room, "it's not their business anyway."
He walked into the room suddenly, in a quick pace. It was really fortunate that nobody stood by the door, because it would really hurt to get accidentally hit with it. Todd looked the most surprised and quite nervous, almost guilty for being there, although he didn't even care about Charlie's affair. He genuinely just came there to do homework and hoped that now that Charlie's back, everyone will get back to homework.
"Is she your girlfriend yet?" Knox asked, chuckling. The other boys' laughter sounded through the room like an echo.
Neil laughed along, pretending to not be bothered by Charlie liking the girl he liked as well. He told himself to pretend, as if it was just another role. Neil was a natural actor, so he could act the role of a guy who totally doesn't like the girl his best friend likes.
Charlie sat down on his bed and with a playful smile answered the question, "it's not that serious."
"What do you mean?" Neil's voice sounded almost offended. "What don't you like about Y/n?"
"It's just...we don't get to talk to many girls, do we? I mean, I wanna see different options, you know?"
Meeks, who was sitting next to Charlie, decided to chime in. "Well, dating doesn't necessarily mean you'll have to marry her."
"She's a girl, you know how girls are. Or maybe rather you don't, but I know that they take relationships very seriously."
"And what's wrong with that?"
"As I've just said, I wanna try out different options," with laughter, Charlie lightly nudged Meeks' side.
It felt ticklish, so Meeks tried to nudge Charlie away, which quickly turned into a bit of pushing and shoving each other. Others began to laugh, nobody seemed to care about homework anymore, not even Todd.
Besides one person.
"Let me remind you, we gathered here to do homework." Cameron reminded everyone.
"Let me remind you," Pitts mimicked him, "it was you who got invested in Charlie's love life."
«────── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ──────»
Even though Charlie kept insisting that whatever was between him and Y/n wasn't serious, the rest of dead poets wanted to meet her. And besides being his love interest, she also was Neil's friend, wasn't she?
So on the next day Pitts and Meeks convinced Charlie to tell Y/n about the Society. He phoned her, she seemed to be interested in becoming a part of it. On the next meeting the Dead Poets Society welcomed a new member - Y/n Y/l/n.
The girl enjoyed her first meeting, she loved the atmosphere of the cave, she loved the feeling growing inside of her when she listened to other members reading poetry. It felt so amazing, even magical.
Y/n felt as if she knew the boys for her whole life, she belonged among them and vice versa. The boys took a liking to Y/n quickly, she was like a missing puzzle in the Society.
"You're like an honorary member of the Dead Poets Society," Neil initiated a conversation with Y/n when the poets were exiting the cave, "the first girl in the Society's history. And you're not even a Welton student."
If it wasn't so dark, Neil would see a warm smile that formed on Y/n's face.
"I will want to attend the next meetings in the future. It's amazing that there are people who care about poetry and art. That moist cave really feels like home."
Both Y/n and Neil chuckled quietly. It was late autumn, but neither of them felt cold. Besides their jackets keeping them warm, there was a warm feeling the both of them felt coming from the inside.
"Whose idea was it?" Y/n continued. "You do seem like a person who could come up with it."
"Actually, the Dead Poets Society was founded by our current English teacher, back when he was a Welton student himself. But it was my idea to renew the Society."
Suddently Y/n flinched, scared by Charlie's arm unexpectedly appearing around her shoulders.
Luckily thanks to the darkness, nobody could see how quick the smile vanished from Neil's face.
"How did you like it?" The boy asked. "What did you think of my poem? I wrote it just for you."
"I figured, it was lovely. I'll bring my own piece for the next meeting too. I'm so glad you told me about the Society!"
"Do you need help with sneaking back into Henley Hall?"
"No, actually I bribed the security. There will be no problem."
"Aren't you scared? It's dark and you've got a long way to go. Maybe I could walk you back?"
"Thank you, Charlie, but I'll be okay, I have a bike. Left it just by the entrance to the forest, in some bushes."
Y/n was really pleased with the first Dead Poets Society meeting she attended. She wrote lots of poems for the next meetings, but also enjoyed reading out loud her favorite poems by famous writers.
Being the only girl in the Society wasn't a problem to Y/n and the boys weren't bothered by it either. They were actually happy about that and always made sure Y/n doesn't feel unwanted or misfitted.
«────── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ──────»
Everything was going well, only one day a problem occurred. The meeting of the Society had to start earlier than usually, because later on Y/n and Neil had a rehearsal.
It wasn't even dark outside yet. The sky way grey, but the sky wasn't even visible from inside the cave. The cave needed a fire, because there was no way for light to get inside, not even through the hole people went in.
"Ugh, I wish the fire was bigger," Y/n complained, rubbing her hands above the flame. It was a cold day.
"There wasn't anymore wood." Pitts explained. He moved some branches around, hoping for the fire to grow.
"What do you mean? We're in a forest. We're surrounded by wood."
"It rained yesterday, there was barely any dry wood."
"Can we start already?" Cameron was the next person to complain. "It's really cold here."
"We can't," Neil said, "we're waiting for Charlie."
If Charlie was there, he would have told Richard that no one asked him to come. But where was Charlie? Nobody knew.
"As we're waiting, I'll go and try to find some dry wood," Y/n stood up and walked out of the cave.
Everything on the ground seemed to be soaked by the recent rain. Y/n decided to steal a few branches from the trees, because they seemed to be a bit dried off.
Just as Y/n was about to go back to the cave, she noticed Charlie. To her surprise, he wasn't alone. It wasn't a good kind of surprise. He walked with two girls at his sides, having his arms around their shoulders.
"Hey, Y/n!" Charlie exclaimed. "Girls, this is Y/n, she was the first girl in our Society."
"Hi." Y/n murmured. She was certainly not happy with Charlie bringing here two other girls.
They didn't answer, they didn't even say anything. Each one of them eyed Y/n, which didn't feel nice. It made Y/n feel uncomfortable. She knew it's not gonna be a nice spent time.
The three girls and Charlie entered the cave. The new girls sat next to him, each one at his each side. Y/n frowned. She used to sit next to Charlie ever since she joined the Society.
Y/n didn't want to let others know she's upset, even if the boys seemed equally surprised. She tried to keep her voice as steady as possible and as harmonic as usual.
"I got some branches, should make the fire a bit bigger," she announced, throwing the branches into the flame.
Y/n gave a look to Neil, sitting next to him. He understood her without words, he wasn't happy with Charlie bringing two more girls as well. And he decided to speak up about it.
"Who's that?"
"That's Gloria," Charlie gestured to the blonde girl, "and that's..." he gestured to the brunette, but struggled to remember her name.
"Tina." The girl introduced herself.
"Yes, that's Tina."
There was some small conversation between the poets and the new girls, but Y/n didn't even pay attention to the words. She kept eyeing them and Charlie, not understanding what happened. Charlie was acting as if Y/n done something to him, as if he lost interest in her.
During the whole meeting Y/n wasn't herself and all the boys besides Charlie seemed to notice that. She felt like crying when he read a romantic poem and said he wrote it for Gloria. Then Charlie read another poem, not as romantic, but clearly targeted at a girl, and announced it was for Tina.
What hurt Y/n the most was the fact that she really thought things between her and Charlie are fine. She didn't love him, of course, but she felt attached, she liked him romantically and thought he feels the same about her. Why did he suddenly start ditching her? What did these girls have that Y/n didn't? What was wrong with her?
Y/n had enough, she couldn't stand another minute in that cave with these girls. She looked at her watch and pretended to be surprised at how fast the time had gone, although this meeting felt like an eternity.
"It's so late!" She exclaimed theatrically. "I don't wanna be late to the rehearsal, I'd better go."
The boys' eyes followed Y/n as she almost ran out of the cave. Nobody even managed to say anything.
Neil decided to follow Y/n. Before walking outside, he told others he's also going to the rehearsal, which wasn't really a lie as everyone knew. It was all just awkward.
"Y/n, wait! Wait for me, I wanna talk!" Neil called out.
Y/n was running, Neil's voice made her stop in her tracks. She didn't turn around, but the boy knew she was crying, because he noticed the unusual way her shoulders were quickly raising up and coming down.
Neil jogged up to Y/n and stood next to her. He could see the side of her face as she was looking forward. The girl definitely was crying.
Suddenly, Y/n turned her head to the side in the order to look at Neil. Tears were slowly rolling down her cheeks, the whites in her eyes now had a pink shade.
"Why did he do that?" A question left her mouth, her mouth that were a bit wet from those tears that instead of falling on the ground, found a way into the girl's mouth. "Am I not enough?"
She felt truly bad about herself. She was afraid those girls might be more interesting, prettier, funnier, just better than her. There must have been a factor that made Charlie choose them over her. It hurt so much to be just an option.
"You're more than enough, Y/n." Neil assured. "You're the sweetest girl I've ever met and if I were Charlie-"
He didn't manage to finish the sentence, when Y/n snapped at him aggressively.
"But you're not Charlie." Y/n paused. When she noticed how aggressively she's talking to Neil without a reason, she changed the tone of her voice. "You're Neil, you're kind and charming and you care about everyone and you're not as reckless as Charlie."
"See, I think you answered your own question right here. Why did he do that? Simply because he's reckless. That's Charlie."
"So there's nothing wrong with me?"
When Y/n looked Neil deeply in his eyes, she wasn't crying anymore. There were still signs of crying, but the tears had dried, the girl was calm.
"Nothing at all," Neil smiled lightly at her, "you're perfect the way you are."
That comment made Y/n blush and as a way of trying to hide it, the girl looked down at her shoes. Neil chuckled at that action and put his hand lightly on Y/n's jawline to make her look back at him.
"I've liked you ever since I met you," he confessed, "I was planning on asking you out before Charlie interrupted us, the day you met him."
Y/n was speechless because of Neil's confession. He was standing really close, there was barely any space between them. Instead of talking, Y/n let Neil kiss her. Y/n's lips tasted a bit salty from the dried tears, but it didn't bother Neil.
It was neither a long nor short kiss, it was just perfectly timed. A calm, not hungry kiss, so different from kisses Y/n received from Charlie. Charlie always kissed as if the world was going to end, he did it rapidly and often rough, it felt as if he was in a rush. Neil on the other hand kissed as if he knew the world was ending, but he didn't care about it. The world could be ending, but he was calm, because he was with the person he adored. He was dominating, his lips were telling Y/n's lips what to do, but not in a rough way.
"What will Charlie say when he finds out?" Y/n asked when she and Neil parted from each other.
"Love, I think he'll be alright," Neil chuckled, "he's Charlie, he's always alright."
Not waiting for Y/n to say anything more, Neil pecked the girl's lips once again, but this time it was quick.
"Come on, let's go now," he grabbed her hand, "don't wanna be late to the rehearsal, do we?"

Fireworks - Charlie Dalton
Tumblr media
Hey! This is my first post ever so i hope you like it <3
This idea came to me while watching some fireworks with my friends @nogoandbees <3
Summary: you watch the fireworks with Charlie Dalton and he focuses more on you than the view in front of him.
Warning: none.
Pairing: Charlie Dalton x gn! reader
One shot is below the line, thank u for reading!
The boys were pretty excited about going to the end-of-summer fair, however, you weren´t as thrilled. Loud noises and big crowds were not your thing, but Neil literally begged you to go with them.
The reason?
Charlie Dalton.
He had spent the whole week calling the Perry´s House to the point where Mrs. Perry stopped picking up the phone because she already knew who was calling.
Of course, the poets knew why he was so persistent about you going with them to the fair. His plan was to kiss you on the top of the Fair Ferris Wheel, as cheese as it sounded. That was all he could think of for the last weeks of August until the day finally came.
You spent almost half an hour deciding what to wear, while Neil waited in the hallway just outside your door reading a book. Putting chapstick on your lips you finally came out of your room, and of course, your big brother had to make a comment about how much time you took to get ready.
"Dressing up for someone?"
"Never" Even though you were lying to yourself.
You both started walking towards Meeks´s place since it was near the fair. You kept trying to calm yourself down, you haven´t seen Charlie since the school year ended and it seemed that every time you saw him he just keep getting more handsome than last time.
You were meeting Knox and Chris directly at the entrance and you were suddenly missing the female support she gave to you, she just seemed to understand you and your little crush better.
After what appeared to be forever, they all entered the precinct and started pointing out everything that they liked, from the cotton candy to the big roller coaster.
When the sun was starting to set, Pitts recommended seeing the view from the top of the Ferris Wheel. Charlie got mentally prepared to ask you out and he finally spoke.
"Hey, I was wondering, well, if you wanted ..."
Just as he was going to finish his sentence, Chris snatched your arm,
"Y/n!! Sit with me on the Ferris Wheel, please!"
She looked really excited as she grabbed your hand and you couldn´t help but to say yes. You then turned around to face Charlie.
"What were you saying?"
"Nothing important"
Just as he said that he turned and joined Neil and Todd in the queue.
You wondered what he was going to say but your turn to get on the ride was coming. You enjoyed your time with Chris on the wheel even if the ride wasn´t really long.
"So, Y/n, how´s your crush going? Still there?"
You wondered for a little while. You never knew what Charlie was feeling, he was always so extra and extroverted. But you could tell that was just a facade for how he truly was. The only thing you really knew was that he was extremely loyal to his friends, which honestly just made you like him even more.
"I don´t know, I really don´t know if he´s even interested in me"
Chris just smiled as if she knew something you didn´t.
"Why are you smiling?"
"It´s nothing really, you will see it for yourself later"
...
The sun was already set when all of you sat down at the stairs of the building next to the fair. Pitts had said something about watching the fireworks from there because it had the best view. They sat down in the blankets and had a few laughs while you kept thinking about what Chris said about you seeing it for yourself.
"Everything okay?" Neil asked sitting in front of you.
You pulled yourself out of your mental trip and answered.
"Yeah, you know how I feel about loud noises"
Knox was quick to enter the conversation "Oh yeah, I remember that time we tried to make a surprise for your birthday and when we came into your house shouting, you almost fell down the stairs."
Charlie added another story "Or when I accidentally blasted music through your speakers while you were reading almost had a heart attack"
"That could happen to everyone" You tried to defend yourself.
Just as you said that the first firework was shot through the sky and you covered your ears just in case. You felt an arm wrapped around your shoulders and turned to see Charlie looking at the fireworks like nothing happened.
You tried to ignore it like everyone else who were too focused on the display in front of them to even notice.
Charlie´s plans had gone to waste, so this was pretty much his only chance to kiss you. he leaned a bit closer as you looked up to find his gaze.
"Are you alright?" you asked.
"I just, can I try something?"
Confused by his question you slowly nodded. Right after you agreed, you felt his lips on yours. Surprised, you opened your eyes and completely froze.
He pulled away with a sad look on his face. "Sorry, I thought we liked each other and..."
You quickly put your hand on his cheek and kiss him again. It was a very soft kiss, not rushed, perfect for you. A few seconds passed and you were so happy that forgot the fireworks. Though a really loud noise brought you back to reality and surprised you, accidentally biting his lower lip.
He pulled away touching his lips in shock. His reaction was so pure that you couldn´t help but laugh. A lot.
"Oh my god, I´m so sorry, I didn´t mean to, Charlie."
But he didn´t look mad at all, he just smiled and snuggled closer.
"Is this payback for the speaker's situation?"
You just smiled like a fool in love.
"Maybe it is, Dalton."
"Damn me for falling in love with a Perry."
I´m sorry if this is cringy, I really tried my best :(
Hope you like it! <3

Heya! May I request smth with a male reader who’s like. The “secret-keeper” type? Like everybody tells him their secrets and he knows everything about everybody, even staff. He’s really quiet and a great listener. And he meets Charlie and Knox and befriends them and slowly gives them secrets as his way of affection? If you do polyamory, maybe all three get together? If not, though, that’s fine.
Secrets || Charlie/Knox/male!Reader (POLYAMORUS)
A/N: So this is my first time doing a poly couple one-shot so it’s not exactly the best but I did try! Any constructive criticism is more then welcome!
pronouns: he/him
TW/CW: underage drinking, mentions of weed, mentions of abuse (not detailed), gay slur (not f slur)
(Y/n) roamed the halls, his friend Markus had spilled the biggest secret last night.
Flashback
"Knox and Charlie are secretly dating," Markus whispered to (Y/n). Yeah, he was a tad but tipsy but he must've seen something.
"How do you know?" (Y/n) whispered back as his roommate and only friend laid down on his bed.
"I saw 'em... Kissing each other..." He whispered as he doze off to sleep.
"You probably were imagining things, you are tipsy..." (Y/n) whispered back as his roommate slowly fell to sleep:
End of Flashback
It was the next morning now and he wasn't able to rid himself of that confession.
Yeah, he has been told worse, people seem to over talk around him and spill lots of small and big secrets.
Once in his third year there someone confessed to being in love with his best friends sister. Another year someone confessed to "knocking someone up" as they said.
That's when everything started, suddenly he knew everyone secrets, even some of the staff. He had so much dirt on Mr. Nolan, like how if you give him the right amount of money he'll let anyone in the school. Apparently even the greatest have a price.
Charlie and Knox walked past him, his stomach dropped as he watched them.
He had to admit that he had thoughts like theirs before. That's something he swore to take to the grave. But he wasn't alone, almost the entire school had thoughts like that.
"Hey Knox!" (Y/n) shouted nervously causing him to stop.
"Oh, hey (Y/n), what's up?" Knox smiled.
"Can we talk privately?" (Y/n) asked again a little less nervous this time.
"Oh, sure..? You can go without me Charlie, I'll catch up." Knox smiled before running towards the nervous boy in front of him.
"I know your secret," (Y/n) immediately confessed. Knox gave him a questioning look, but he wasn't convincing enough.
"What secret?" Knox asked, (Y/n) could tell that he was nervous.
"Come off it Knox, you know exactly what I mean!" (Y/n) whisper-shouted.
"Fine, what do you want? Money?" Knox asked.
"No! No!" (Y/n) shook his head. "Please, my roommate confessed it yesterday and I won't lie, I'm scared for you."
"Is he going to tell anyone? If he does I swear I'll fight him!" Knox said anxiously.
"I have too much dirt on him for him to do something like that Knox," (Y/n) said but he didn't even believe it. He nervously sighed as he could tell Knox was afraid.
"Thanks for telling me, I'll see you around..." Knox walked away, he was worried and (Y/n) could tell.
"Knox! Look, Markus' dad paid Mr Nolan for him to be accepted here, he isn't here because he is smart." (Y/n) confessed. "He told me himself..."
"He paid to get in here?" Knox said surprised.
"Yeah, and— and— Caleb his dad's business is crashing," (Y/n) wasn't able to keep quiet anymore. "I know lots of things about people and I promise no one will know about yours."
"Thanks," Knox smiled. "Follow me."
Knox lead him outside and towards the woods, (Y/n) was unfamiliar with the setting.
"If you know so much about everyone you must know about this," Knox smiled.
"I heard when you guys were talking to Mr. Keating, something about a secret club?" (Y/n) confessed. "Sorry, I should keep my nose out of other business but it's almost impossible."
"It's impossible for you, how come people go to you for their deepest secrets?" Knox asked as they neared the cave.
"I'm not sure, I guess they think I won't tell because I don't have many friends?" (Y/n) said with a hint of sadness and confusion.
They arrived at the cave, they heard whispering and laughter before entering.
Knox entered before (Y/n) entered, he was nervous. He was never a part of a big group and never a big group of guys.
"Who is that?" Cameron asked, as if he hadn't dumped a load of secrets on him before. Once he confessed to burning one of his fathers notebooks for his business.
Charlie stood up with a grin, Charlie confessed to having smoked the devils lettuce once or twice with a girl from Henley Hall.
"It's the very famous (Y/n) (M/n) (L/n)," he said walking up to him.
"Oh! I've heard lots about you," Neil Perry. He heard from one of the staff members that his father was abusive.
Todd Anderson, now Todd was a quiet kid and thats why he knew just so much about him. He heard things from other students and staff. Nothing bad, you can't be bad if you're an anxious kid.
"Why did you bring him here Knox?" Steven Meeks asked, Meeks confessed that a straight A student paid him to do his Latin and trig homework. He also heard from staff that his dad was mean and demanding.
"He knows everything," Knox shrugged sitting down next to Pitts.
(Y/n) was told by a girl from Henley Hall just how terrible of a kisser he is. Pitts confessed to being allergic to fish.
"I can go," (Y/n) said softly, the room felt small.
"No, please, stay," Neil said, he was smiling.
"Don't feel forced to let me stay, I won't tell anyone anything." (Y/n) said, he was unsure, no one really wanted him around they were more afraid of him.
"Nonsense, please. Sit." Neil said reassuringly.
Cameron gave him an evil side eye, but he didn't seem to notice. The rest of the group quickly welcomed him to the friend group, except Cameron.
The rest of them were worried he'd tell the school their secrets but at the same time that didn't matter so much.
Knox, Charlie and (Y/n) all walked to their dorm rooms. It wasn't night for once so they had could walk to their rooms and not have to sped it there.
Markus, (Y/n)'s roommate stepped outside of the dorm room. He made eye contact with Knox and Charlie and then (Y/n).
"Queers," he whispered before making eye contact with (Y/n) again.
"Markus, quit it. I have more dirt on you then anyone else in this school. Their secret comes out then everyone will know that your mommy is your daddy's mistress," (Y/n) whispered. Markus backed down and glared at him.
"Fine. Protect them," Markus walked away.
"What did you tell him?" Knox asked and he shook his head.
"Nothing of importance,” (Y/n) smiled. “He won’t say anything.”
(Y/n) said good bye before entering his dorm room.
• Small time skip •
Knox and (Y/n) had gotten closer through out the few months they’ve been friends. That cane with a lot of small cups of tea they shared. Occasionally Charlie would join on their tea time.
They enjoyed picnic together and dipping their bare feet on the small river near the woods they frequented.
(Y/n) hated to admit it but he was falling in love, and he was falling fast. It felt so wrong yet so right. He couldn’t confess the feelings since Knox and Charlie were basically a couple.
“Did you know that Valentina Harpet’s older brother dropped out of Welton when he was 16 and fled to France to marry a girl he was pen pals with?” (Y/n) told Charlie who was listening. Knox was in the river making rocks jump.
“I always wondered what happened to him, did they actually get married?” Charlie asked.
“No, apparently it was a façade, he is actually living with a guy in Amsterdam.” (Y/n) shrugged.
“That’s… interesting, so they built a story like that?” Charlie laughed.
“Actually, his parents said he got into a military school and then went on to be a lawyer.” Charlie nodded not surprised at all.
“I love our talks. There’s so much people are hiding.” Knox looked over at them.
“Yeah, Mr. Nolan loves money, I know at least 10 kids in our year that had their parents bribe Mr. Nolan to let them in here.” Knox didn’t seem so surprised.
“I have my suspicion on who those kids might be. You can imagine, Maybe William, you know the one who seems to always slack off? Or how about your roommate Markus, he seems like the type.” Knox laughed.
“Actually maybe there is more than 10 now that I think about it,” (Y/n) pondered a bit. “A girl at Henley Hall had her father bribe Welton to let her in to Welton.”
“That’s devastating,” Charlie mumbled, “considering the girls school isn’t as good as Welton.”
“Yeah, Betty T. the one with the curled blonde hair.” (Y/n) nodded, “she’s an only child.”
“Oh, I’ve heard things about her,” Charlie frowned, “her life has been tragedy after tragedy.”
“On a lighter note, (Y/n) we brought you here to discuss something kind of important.” Knox sat next to Charlie with a smile.
“Oh, what’s up?” (Y/n) nervously fidgeted with his fingers.
“So, you know me and Charlie are like together… romantically…” Knox began, (Y/n) nodded.
“Well, Knox and I really like you too, like we like you lots.” Charlie winked. “We were wondering if maybe you’d want to be apart of our relationship?”
“What?” (Y/n)’s tone was that of shock, was there such a thing?
“Yeah, like it can be all three of us in a romantic relationship, with healthy boundaries,” Knox nodded.
“That exists?” (Y/n) mumbled confusedly.
“What do you say? Of course you don’t have to, don’t feel forced. We just thought of asking.” Charlie smiled.
“I didn’t know something like this could exist! But yeah! I would love to be in a romantic relationship with you two!” (Y/n) excitedly exclaimed hugging them both.
“That’s great! We like you so much and since we met you and became your friend we instantly clicked,” Charlie confessed.
“How will we tell the others?” (Y/n) asked.
“We can think about that later, we can always do it when you’re more comfortable and ready.” Knox held (Y/n)’s hand before kissing them.

A whole bunch of random extremely specific headcanons I have been thinking about forever for dating all the different dead poets~~~
Charlie
Tumblr media
Hear me out
He’s the ‘tough’ one of the group
This is terrible but I think the dead poets made him tell Todd about Neil because no one else could bring themselves to. (I wanna write a fic about this so bad)
Charlie aggressively cares for all his friends
He needs someone to aggressively care for him
So when you guys are alone it takes time for him to lose his tough guy facade
But when he does he’s kind of a baby
Clinging to you
Wanting attention
Having someone to care for him is so foreign but he loves it and tries to care for you the same way.
You guys when you aren’t being all lovey and adorable are like partners.

Your smile brightened when you felt the ocean breeze caressing your face. “Neil!” you said enthusiastically as you pointed at the white sand displayed in front of you.
Behind you, Neil let out a chuckle before walking to your level, holding the picnic basket. “Shall we?” he smirked, taking your hand in his. You nodded eagerly, excited to spend the afternoon at the beach with your boyfriend.
You found a spot where you weren’t surrounded by people before settling everything down. When you were done you laid down on your beach towel and sighed contently. Neil joined you quickly, both of you admiring the lightly clouded sky.
When the weather started to get brighter, you felt Neil shifting next to you “What are you doing?”
“Sunscreen,” he said, pulling out the tube from the bag. You whined a bit, you hated the feeling of the cream on your epiderm. “You need it, love. Don’t want your skin to burn.” Unwillingly, you took off your shirt, finding yourself in your bathing suit only. You showed your back to Neil and let him apply the sunscreen. He was gentle with you, taking his time to cover each parcel of your body. He finished by pressing a soft kiss to your shoulder.
“Thank you,” you said, “Do you need help?” Neil nodded and you did the same as he did with you. Just as gently and just as softly.
Neil got up and held out his hand for you to take. You stood up and both of you started to run towards the sea, letting it engulf you. The salty water carried you slowly and you held each other hands. Your laughs melted with the sound of the waves hitting the shore as you messed around.
You looked at Neil, with his wet hair falling before his eyes and his smile capable of lightening an entire room, you found him more beautiful than ever. With a laugh, he tilted his head down before kissing the corner of your lips. “You’re so pretty, love,” he said as if his own words mirrored your thoughts.
“You’re more.”
“You think I’m pretty?”
“Mmh,” you hummed. You let a wave carry you closer to your boyfriend and you snaked your arms around his neck, your lips brushing his “Very pretty…,” you said before leaning in and kissing him tenderly.
Amused but seduced, he kissed you back with a laugh. At some point, you finally pulled away only to find the sky above you had turned grey “No…” you whined, hiding your face in the crook of his shoulder.
“Let’s get back there.” You both swam to the froth and headed to your towels. With a sigh, you laid down. You curled up by Neil’s side, resting your head on his chest “I’m so happy to be with you, my love,” he said as he kissed your temple.
You smiled into his chest “Me too,” you whispered. You relax in his arms, appreciating the feeling of his hands tangled in your hair. Without even trying to stop yourself, you fell asleep in Neil’s arms, lulled by the sound of his heartbeat and the waves.
Neil watched you with a smile on his lips. You were so perfect even when sleeping. Each day he felt more and more in love with you, you didn’t even need to do anything, your presence was enough for him to melt.
“You’re so pretty, my love.”

Letter for the dead
Tumblr media
Warning/s: a little bit of angst, slight mentions of grief, homophobia, death.
Word count: 849
A/N: happy one year for this account!! i finally had the motivation to write something. requests are open! enjoy :)
December 15th
Dear Neil,
I didn’t even get to say goodbye. I regret not having the chance to hold you for the first time and describe to you the things I was nervous about. My consciousness bears millions of regrets with me, this one will haunt me evermore.
I used to overhear people say they want to repeat the day before an incident, over again. Their feelings were unknown to me. I was vain, indifferent. Now, destiny showed me what they went through. The Universe would bless me if a genie would come to me one day to grant me a wish. I'd say I’d love to have one more day with you, only the two of us. We deserved one.
I should’ve asked before. The guilt I express currently would be more tolerable. You think you have the whole time on your hands. Then something shifts in the wind. It alters the timeline. How cruel can the minutes be? They pass, even though we implore them to stop, so we can linger the moments we experience. I did want to spend more time with you. I promise you that. My words couldn’t aid me.
I fear I will forget your gentle voice, your radiant face. The picture of the way you used to laugh and light the room more than candles will wither. A lack will be that of how you used to recite poems to me every night before bed. All the memories owned with you will fade. It’s my worst thought when I lay in bed. I rather stay awake, reliving my moments with you than going to sleep. Even there you appear in my dreams. It's the only way I can still hear you call my name. Remember when I had nightmares. You welcomed me in your bed and made me feel safe. I live my nightmare, and you are nowhere to calm my restlessness. Do you recognize the times when I cried in the middle of the night and you were there to wipe the tears on my face? My handkerchief dries them off instead, because your hands are somewhere unreachable. I will not be able to recall the images, yet my brain will deep-bury the evidence that you existed. My biggest concern will show itself. I will grow old. The things we did will burn out. None of us will tell the story we had to write. I wish I could at least have a piece of your something to help me see that, even if you aren’t here, your soul lives. I’m sorry if I do forget you.
The world is a beast. A survival of such an act would be a scandal and you would have hurt yourself more. It wouldn’t have allowed you to heal from the wounds, nor would it have let me speak. I accept the fact you’re gone, I can’t do anything about it, but here, on paper, I can confess and pretend you’re reading it. I love you, Neil. I always have. After the play, I planned on showing you who my heart beats for. I wanted to bring you to the cave, read you the poem I wrote for you. Your father was an obstacle. He took you away. I ensured myself to do it the next day. It was the worst idea I have ever had. So much love in my veins only for it to evaporate. Where we live, my darling, they would have executed our love. I couldn't care less. I would have risked my life for you to squeeze me in your arms. My life would have not been worthy if you didn't kiss the rivers my eyes drained. We would have run away, far, far away, where you wanted. I didn't believe the myth of first sight love. My unbelief cursed me. The things we had together sank me in forever longing. It's not the time to love a ghost, nor the remains. You're a photograph. You are the wind hitting my window. You're the snow I bury myself into. You're the missing piece I need. You're the flock of clouds hugging my street. I regret not telling you sooner... I fall in love every day with the objects of reality that embrace you. They also stab me as I remind myself I can't tell you the three holy words. You left for a place where you can be the actor you desire to be. I am surrounded by the sorrow of your passing, but at least I am happy you can have what you merit - peace.
Though you will not write back, wait for me instead! The day where we will hold each other without shame will come! We will enjoy our home there... I hope you rest well until then. When I become ashes, stand by the nearest pond. You will see me have a bouquet of forget-me-nots in my hands. It will be for you. I meant every word in this letter. I love you.
Yours,
Todd

I Swear I Don't Know Who That Man Is
Pairing: Peter Parker x Reader
Genre: fluff/angst
Word Count: 5K
Summary: you got wasted and called peter to pick you up, you also don't realize it's him right away.
Peter Parker hates parties.
But, he loves you. That’s why he’s currently allowing his eardrums to burst apart and have his shoulders constantly being checked from the other bodies surrounding him. It’s giving him the type of overstimulation where he wants to throw everyone to the side and scream at everybody to shut the fuck up. Instead he pushes through the crowd and tries his best to find you as quickly as he could.
“Yo Parker! Is that you?”
Peter wants to roll his eyes, how is Tarrent going to look directly at him, use his name even and then follow it up with asking if it is in fact, who he thought. Peter thinks about ignoring him until Tarrents hand claps him on the shoulder and digs his fingers in as he drags him to the kitchen island.
“Parker’s here, pour 'em up!” Tarrent waves his hand at his friend with the bottle, he shrugs and follows instructions. Peter is busy looking around for you.
“Thought you weren’t the party type, Parker.”
Peter grabs the shot from Dalton, the one with the bottle, who poured them at the request of his frat president.
“I’m not really, I’m on boyfriend duty right now.”
Tarrent rips a nearly empty beer can from his lips, foam spilling out and his fingers slightly dented the can in his hold. “Where’s she at? Should I get D to pour a shot?” Peter’s always been confused by Tarrent, he was kind of a dick. Not the intentional type of dick, but the overall stupid dick. He’s always been a fan of Peters, he never let anyone pick on him and always was his buddy when he was in the room.
Peter eyes the shot in his hand, he doesn’t want to do this.
He doesn’t get drunk, unless he drinks an abnormal amount. Instead he just gets to taste all the burn with none of the fun side effects.
“Not sure, she was supposed to get a ride home with Linzey, but then she called me up here.”
Tarrent nods, “Linzey with the tits? They’re honkin dude, you should see ‘em.”
Peter blinks at him, “Yeah, she has boobs alright.”
Tarrent raises his shot glass, “To tits!”
Peter raises his own shot glass, “To tits!” He tries to forget that you would pinch his arm if you heard him say that. Then taps the glass on the counter twice in unison with his friend before throwing it back.
His nose wrinkles slightly, warm vodka was absolutely terrible.
“So, Parker. Wanna play a round of pong?”
Peter thinks he doesn’t know his first name, he’s never once called him it.
“I would but I’ve never played and I have a girlfriend to find.”
Tarrent claps his hands, “Tell you what, you play a round with me and I’ll send D to get your girl. Sound good?”
Peter thinks about it, he really, really doesn’t want to be here but he’s feeling slightly pressured. Not to mention Tarrent’s done a lot for Peter, he’s pulled a lot of cards for him. He’s helped him get into the library after hours, and he even let Peter use his car for a date.
Peter sighs, “Just one round?”
Tarrent waves Dalton off and raises his fists and shakes them, “This is gonna be so lit dude, something tells me you’re gonna win us this round.”
Peter laughs, “I’ve never played.”
Tarrent punches his shoulder, “Beginners luck, man.”
Peter watches Tarrent push away a kid on the cups, even in the middle of a game they both stopped just because Tarrent wanted to play. “Rerack ‘em, Charlie. Parker’s gonna kick ass.”
Tarrent explains the game to Peter quickly, “You shoot a ball and I do, you wanna get them in the cup. You get it in the cup, they drink it and remove it from the triangle. If we both get one in then we get balls back and can reshoot, if we land it in the same cup then they take an extra cup off. You can’t have your elbow go over the edge of the table, however you can bounce the ball and if it lands they’ll take an extra cup, but they can also swat it off the table. If they land a cup and the ball swirls around the cup you can ‘finger it out’, basically how you do your chick, last rule is a redemption, if we win they get an extra shot. If they miss, they lose, if they hit it, our win is canceled out but the game isn’t over.”
Peter nods slowly, “So I just make it in the cup?”
Tarrent smiles, “Exactly, Parker.”
Charlie finishes the rerack, both sides have ten, red plastic cups lined up in a triangle. He looks up to see his opponents, Tom and Terry, twins in Tarrent’s frat. Tarrent holds out his hands, a fist in one palm, Tom copies his move and they start slamming their fists down. “Rock, paper, scissors. Let’s fuckin go, Parker! Watch me.” Tarrent cheers when he wins the game, picking up the white ball he blows on it for good luck and shoots it, it hits in the middle and bounces around the rim before falling off.
“Fuck! You got this, Parker. Win it for your lady!” Tarrent slaps Peter’s chest, the force knocking him off balance for a second.
Peter can’t think of one thing you’d be less impressed with.
Tarrent is a good guy, dumb and sexist and misogynistic but a good guy. He didn’t realize what he was saying was wrong and usually when Peter gently corrected him he took note immediately and changed his language.
Peter decides he’ll give the win to Tarrent. He can easily win this game, no matter how good his opponents are, they don’t have Spidey skills.
He clears his throat and picks up a ball, he focuses on the first one and shoots. It’s a perfect shot.
Tarrent jumps up and howls, “That’s my fuckin guy! Fuck you Tom! Fuck you Terry!”
The game goes back and forth for a minute, Peter choosing to miss some shots to slow the game a little. Otherwise it would be finished in five minutes. Halfway through the pressure gets to Terry, “You can’t hit this, Parker. Just like your girlfriend, you know you always leave her begging for more.”
Peter blinks and tilts his head, “Is that supposed to be trash talk?” He sails the ball into a cup, Tom slaps his brother's head and chugs the now lukewarm beer. Terry’s words made him think, where were you? Dalton was sent to search almost fifteen minutes ago.
Dalton comes running up panting, “So I’m looking all around for you man and I gotta be honest, I have no fucking clue what she looks like. I tried asking every girl if Parker was their boyfriend but there’s too many.”
Peter looks over to Tarrent, he’s heard his pledge and made pleading eyes at Peter.
“C’mon, man. You can’t bolt now, we’re about to win!”
He’s right. With a sigh Peter unlocks his phone and shows Dalton your picture. He examines and nods, “Be right back!” Then turns to break into a half jog, he stops to turn a girl around, that looks absolutely nothing like you, before shaking his head and running back into the house.
He has very little hope.
They won the game with very little surprise on Peter’s end. He nearly got talked into a second game but he was more desperate to find you so he could get midnight mcdonalds and a cuddle. “You sure you can’t do one more?” Peter winces, “Sorry, dude. I gotta find Y/N, she’s probably pissed by now.” Tarrent nods gulping down a beer, “I know how chicks are, I’ll see you Tuesday, Parker.”
Peter smiled and nods his head, “Good game, man. Glad I could get you that win.”
Tarrent gives him a grin back, he’s a little sloshed for sure. He hooks an arm around Peter’s neck, his beer splashed on his sweater on the shoulder. “You know, I really do consider you a good friend, Parker. You’re a good guy.” Peter taps his arm, “Thanks, man. You too.”
Tarrent shoves him away and slaps his ass, “Go find your chick, I’m sure she’s missing you.”
Peter now realizes why it’s taken Dalton so long to find you, he’s not looking.
He estimates Dalton made it three steps in when he spotted a wasted blonde and was busy chatting her up, he made eye contact with Peter and his eyes widened, “Listen man, I’m sorry, okay? I just saw the prettiest girl in my life and I had to talk with her. Also can you please not tell Tarrent? He’ll knock me back four points and Franklin can’t beat me, I have a thousand bucks I don’t have on pledging.”
Peter watches the girl swing her head back and hit the wall, she giggles and sips her drink. He just points at her and looks at Dalton, “She’s wasted. Get her a water and get her home safely. I promise she’ll call you, do the right thing.” Dalton grins and shows Peter his phone, an Uber already ordered. “Like Tarrent says, rule three of Alpha Beta Delta, W.W.P.D. What would Parker Do?”
“Tarrent has a rule dedicated to me?”
“Dude he has a whole fucking powerpoint on it.”
Peter nods his head impressed, turns out he can make an impact outside of the suit.
He pulls out his phone to check the time and sees two missed calls and seven texts, each one getting progressively sadder when you ask where he was. Peter looks up at Dalton and motions to his phone, he understands and waves him off. Peter’s quick to send you a text.
‘I’m here, where are you?’
You read it, your chat bubble appears, then disappears, and then sends nothing.
Peter doesn’t know if you’re in trouble or just mad he was an hour late to get you and ghosted you.
‘baby please tell me where you are, i want to go home.’
You have the same pattern, then a text appears.
‘So did I. An hour ago.’
Peter groans, no one could ever prepare him for a not only drunk, but a pissed off, drunk girlfriend.
‘:(‘
He tries to think of where you might’ve gone. Peter checks the upstairs bathrooms first, then Tarrents room. When he comes up empty he tries outside, both the front and back. Nothing, he’s worried you might’ve left him as a punishment. When he circled the living room for the third time he was hopeless and texted you with no response, he was about to scream until he saw Lindzey. He nearly bolted to her, “Where’s my girlfriend?”
She narrowed her eyes then smiled when she recognized him, “The basement. She’s pretty gone, she said Jarred was giving her the creeps so I came to get her some water.”
“Where is she now?”
Lindzey looks at him funny, “The basement?”
“You left my girlfriend, your friend, alone in a basement with a guy that was giving her the creeps while she’s inebriated?” Peter decided he would never trust her around you again.
She tried to speak but Peter held up a hand and passed by her, quick to get down the stairs, he didn’t even know there was a basement. He was able to breathe easier when he saw you sitting in a chair in the corner swirling a straw in your cup, your feet tapping to the beat of the song.
You looked drop dead gorgeous.
Peter approached you, you didn’t look up at him. You sucked on your straw and chewed at the end, he smiled down on you.
“Hey, trouble.”
In a swift movement you moved to hit the side of your shoe against his, “Out.” You spoke around your straw and kept staring at a poster on the wall. “Huh?” Peter was confused, did you want him out of the room, or the house?
You sighed and kicked again, “I said out!”
Peter couldn’t help but laugh, you were trashed. “Out of where, baby?”
You ripped the straw from your mouth, the ice danced in the cup, at last you snapped your head to look at his face “Listen here, prick.” Your voice was venom, Peter’s eyes widened, he looked around for a second and shuffled closer. In turn you threw yourself back in your chair, “Out means out. Out of my way, out of my space, out of my fucking life.”
You’ve never been this harsh before, he didn’t realize you were this pissed.
He sighs, “Trouble, I’m sorry I-”
You cut him off quickly, “Don’t call me that, ever. My boyfriend calls me that, that’s his word for me. Not yours.”
He can’t help but grin in relief, you didn’t know it was him.
“I don’t see a boyfriend.”
You scoff, “Yeah well if you don’t see a bear shit in the woods doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. He’s on his way, he’s picking me up.”
“How about I take you home sweetheart?”
As serious as you could muster at the moment. You looked dead in his eyes and threatened him, “My boyfriend is gonna beat the absolute shit out of you.” Peter raised his eyebrows, “Oh is he now?” You nod fiercely, “If I ask, he’s so whipped for me he would do anything I want.”
Peter’s offended. He knows it’s true, but damn.
“He’s whipped but left you here alone?”
You nearly clawed his eyes out, “I have no fucking idea why you’re acting like you know anything about him. He’s my boyfriend and he’s picking me up, and I promise you don’t want to be here when he does.”
Peter feels a sense of pride that you’re dropping his name, he made you feel so safe and comfortable that you knew he would drop kick anyone you deemed deserving.
“Okay, sweetheart. Want me to bring you to your boyfriend?”
You scoff and sip your drink, “I don’t think he would want me to leave my spot.”
He wants to give you an atta girl, he’s trained you well enough that when you’re drinking and waiting on him you hunker down until he finds you. He will be looking forever if you’re constantly moving around.
“What if I told you I was told to come get you?”
You look him over with shifty eyes, you don’t trust this man.
“What’s his name then?”
He ignores your question and reaches for the cup you're drinking from, he thinks it’s time you stop. You slap his hand, hard, “Don’t, ever, touch something I’m drinking, okay? Mommy never taught you to keep your hands to yourself, huh?”
Peter rubs at his red hand, “I-“
You dryly laugh in his face, “How fucking entitled to you think you are? I mean really, not to mention you have no fucking clue how to read a room. I’m not interested, you dolt, I have a boyfriend that is gonna come grab me at any second.”
Peter squats so he’s more eye level. He notices the issue, you couldn’t see him. He was backed against the wall and it was shadowed, the second he bent down the window lit up his face.
“Hey, trouble. I am your boyfriend, wanna get home?”
Your eyes lit up with recognition, the moment you saw who you were berating your lower lip trembles. Fat tears pooling in your eyes had Peter panicking, did you still not understand who he was? Has he scared you?
“You’re okay, baby. It’s just me.” He smiles to be non threatening, it doesn’t work. You blink and tears fall, Peter frowns and reaches forward to cup your face, you shrink back further into the seat. The drink clutched to your chest spilled out over your shirt, you ignored it and looked at Peter, shaking your bottom lip at him to hold off sobs.
Peter starts to look around, before placing a palm on your chest trying to sop up the extra liquid into his sweater. You shove his hand back quickly, then raise your knees to hide your chest, wrapping your hands around your legs and cry into your knees.
He’s at a loss for words, he really doesn’t know what’s going on. Are you truly lost and think he’s taking advantage of you? It seemed like you recognized him the second you saw his face. He puts his hand on a knee, you move your leg so his hand falls off, he’s lost.
Peter thinks he needs to find Lindzey, he doesn’t like the idea of leaving you here alone upset, but he can’t seem to figure you out. If you can see your friend and have her willingly say that you are safe and this is your boyfriend then everything should be fine, right?
You have your face hidden from him, he had taken your cup away when it landed all over your front. Peter rests the plastic on the ground, the remnants of ice click. With a sigh he stands, he turns to look up the stairs hoping Lindzey would be coming down any second, if he has a guess though, she’s in Tarrents room watching the ceiling fan.
Peter takes one step and you grab his wrist tightly.
“You’re not leaving me right?”
“Hey!” He gives you a warm smile, like the kind of greeting you get from coming out of your room after a few hours. “What’s got you crying?”
You repeat your words, “You’re not leaving me, right?” You emphasize the right, because you don’t think Peter would do that but you’re not too sure the way you’ve been talking to him.
“I was gonna find Lindzey, are you-“
You jump up instantly using the hand you have on Peter for stability. You’re so close to Peter you almost step on his toes, he’s quick to back up. You take in his movements and start to cry, you shake your head quickly.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, please don’t leave me. I’m sorry, I’ll never do it again, I promise. Don’t break up with me, don’t leave me.”
Peter’s face scrunches in confusion, you take it as rejection. You cry harder, you sob so hard people are starting to turn and look. “Hey, c’mere.” He wraps an arm around your shoulder to pull you out of the basement but you stick your feet to the ground and shake your head violently. “No! Don’t do this, Peter. I’m sorry! Please don’t!”
He really wants to get you the fuck out of here. It’s dark, cold, loud and crowded. You’re also a nervous wreck that’s not only sobbing but also screaming at him stuck to his side but refusing him to touch you back. You’re also making it sound like he’s about to take you out back and teach you a lesson, he’s trying to think of the nicest way possible to get you to shut the fuck up.
You sniffle and take a deep inhale, then pout at Peter who takes your silence as an opportunity and leans in to talk directly in your ear.
“Calm down, Y/N. Follow me, understand?”
You nod but when he tries to move you stay attached to the ground again, “I said I was sorry, I didn’t mean to, I promise.”
Peter can’t think of a time you’ve been more hammered.
He needs to get you out of here, he tries one last time before he’d be forced to throw you over his shoulder. Peter leans to talk into your ear once more, not mean but stern. “I’m not mad, but I will be if you don’t follow me.” You wipe away any extra tears that had fallen before nodding slowly, you’re trying to not make him mad. He doesn’t know why you think he’s so upset at you.
Peter tries to grab your hand but you cross your arms and sniffle as you follow him up the stairs, he keeps turning every few seconds to make sure you’re still with him. He knows the second he’s able to get you away from the house you’d be able to explain why you were so upset. He’s just so tired and is more than ready to get home so he could sleep next to you, and he’s been so patient with you so far.
It’s rare you make him aggravated. So when you bolt from behind him to hide behind Tarrent he has to take a few deep breaths before he follows you. He doesn’t know why you’re scared of him, he doesn’t know why you were crying, he doesn’t know why you want to hide behind Tarrent. He does know he wants to get the fuck out of here. Peter takes a second for his annoyance to leave, he’s half tempted to pull your arm like a toddler out the door. Kicking and screaming and all.
When Peter finally walks over he’s blocked by Tarrent’s hand.
“What’s going on, Parker?” His tone is accusatory, his side chosen with the teary eyed sniffling girl.
Peter sighs, “Honestly, no fucking clue.” When he looked over at you, you immediately threw your head down to look at your shoes. He leaned in a little closer to Tarrent to speak softly, trying not to set you off again,  “I tried to get her to leave but she started crying and freaking out.”
“She doesn’t want to leave with you.”
Peter blinked. Tarrent was supposed to be his friend, why was he taking your side out of nowhere.
“She had me spooked too. I promise everything is okay.” He smiled and went to move around Tarrent to grab his girlfriend, this time Tarrent was more aggressive. “She said she doesn’t want to leave with you, Parker. I won’t make a lady do anything they don’t want.”
Peter is so ready to say fuck it to everything.
He pinches the bridge of his nose. “Okay, great. Are you going to be getting my girlfriend home safely or will one of your pledges that can barely tie their own shoes be instructed to do so?” Tarrent’s face hardens, “Why don’t you go take a walk, Parker?”
He throws his hands in the air, “Awesome.” He points to Tarrent, “You can take care of it from here.” Then Peter stands near you, you still haven’t said a word or moved an inch. “Have a goodnight, Y/N. I’ll talk to you whenever.”
Finally you speak, it’s a worried tone.
“You’re leaving?”
Peter can’t help himself, he gives a laugh, like he’s the crazy one. Exasperated, he looks at you, “Yeah, baby, I am.” You look him up and down, “Why?” He takes a second to look around the room, he’s expecting cameras to come out.
He doesn’t want to fight but his tone said otherwise.
“Because, Y/N. You called me here to pick you up, then you were mad I was late. Then you wouldn’t tell me where you were because you thought a game of hide and seek would be cute, then when I found you, you started crying and screaming at me. Now you’re hiding behind my friend and he’s telling me you want me to leave. You want me to leave but you want me to stay, which is it?”
Tarrent looks like he’s ready to break up the fight at any second.
You go back to blinking at your shoes, he nods his head with a mumbled ‘fucking awesome’ and started to walk away. Your quivered voice made him stop, you were panicked and upset. He didn’t get why until now.
“So you’re breaking up with me?”
Tarrent looks at him like ‘well, are you?’
Peter can’t stop himself, the confusion spills out.
“Huh?”
“You’re breaking up with me?”
When he walks closer Tarrent spreads out slowly, he’s trying to let Peter have a chance to talk to you.
“Baby, why would I break up with you?”
You look at him and he sees how sad you look, you can’t help the bubbling cry that pulls through.
“Because I was mean to you.”
Oh.
Oh.
You thought he was mad because of what you said to him in the basement. You thought you had fucked it up by hitting and berating him. You thought he was trying to get you out of the house so he could swiftly dump your ass and leave with a nicer, prettier girl.
“Oh shit.” He breathes out the words and in an instant Tarrent knows this isn’t as accurate as you claimed it was, even if you were plastered he was ready to have your side first. And not that he even really knows you, but he considers Parker a good friend and if there was a chance he was about to fuck up and end it with you he had to middleman it. Tarrent knows Parker deserves you.
He slowly pushed himself away until he was no longer in between you two. Peter appreciated the space and pushed his toes into yours, he was going nowhere.
“I’m not mad about that! You didn’t know it was me!”
Peter is so happy this was about nothing.
You won’t hear it, you’re drunk and extremely apologetic.
You hiccup, “No, cause I was so fucking mean to you, Petey. I should’ve never said that, I was so so mean. I wasn’t being a good girlfriend.”
He wants to laugh but he thinks it would upset you more.
“Baby, really. It’s okay, you didn’t know it was me. I’m not mad at all, I promise.”
You shake your head, “I was so mean to you though. I called you like, so many bad names.” You gasp when you remember what else you had done, you grab his hand to look at it. Peter tries to pull it away before it causes you to spiral more but you somehow have an iron grip on his wrist.
“And I hit you! Oh my god, Petey. I am so sorry, I didn’t mean it I swear.”
Peter places his free hand against your cheek, “I know you didn’t.” You place a soft kiss to the red mark, he knows you feel insanely guilty.
‘Hey,” He taps your cheek with a finger to get you to look at him. “You trust me, right?” You nod. “Good, now believe me when I say I’m not mad. You stuck up for yourself, trouble. You didn’t see it was me and I realized that, okay?”
You sniffle. “So you’re not mad at me?”
He laughs, “No, trouble. I’m not mad at you.”
You look at his hand and frown, you kiss it again. “And you won’t break up with me?”
Peter smiles sadly, “Don’t think you can get rid of me that easy, sorry.”
“Kiss?”
He looks at you, then the room, “Here?”
“If you’re not breaking up with me then prove it.”
Peter wants to tell you he could kiss you then dump you but you wouldn’t get that he was joking and it would collapse everything.
He follows your wish and pulls you in, he’s not much for outstanding PDA but he thinks you deserve a little more than a peck tonight. You did just gaslight yourself into thinking he was breaking up with you.
Peter pulled back and watched you grumpily blink your eyes open.
“Why stop?”
“Are you asking for another?”
You nod quickly and look over his shoulder, “Now! Before Casey Shauna sees you and tries to come over.” Before he can say a word you fly up to meet his mouth, it was sloppy and you basically headbutted him with your mouth so his teeth hurt. He gently pushes you away and rubs his upper lip.
Your eyes widened, “Oh no, I did it again. I hurt you, right?”
Peter was not about to fall back into this rabbit hole, not when he just found his way out of it.
“Not at all, trouble. Had some lip gloss, that’s all.”
You pout and shake your head solemnly, “I’m not wearing lip gloss.”
“How bout this, I get you home and I’ll give you all the kisses you want. How’s that sound?”
Like a puppy you’ve forgotten why you were upset, excited you hold on tight to his arm as he guides you through the crowded room until you reach the front door. You ask him how firm he is on the kisses offer, he gives you three the second you exit the house.
“I also want sex.”
Peter laughs, “That’s funny, cause I want a mcchicken.”
You ‘oo’ at him and slap his arm in excited agreement. “I want one too, but with cheese. And maybe some fries. Oh, Peter! I want a super large coke too, they have the best coke!”
By the time you’ve hit up Mcdonald’s and had Peter’s wallet buy you whatever you wanted, (even when you asked him for another mcchicken and a refill,) you were too tired to do anything but pass out on the couch.
Peter humphs at you while he watches you snore with the TV playing in the background.
“The sex to Mcdonalds pipeline never fails.”

“secret admirer” - dead poets society (final)
summary: y/n confronts their poet (lightly inspired by this post)
pairing: (not-so) anonymous!dead poet x reader

Tumblr media
Y/N felt like they were having an out of body experience—maybe they were dreaming? That seemed like the most reasonable explanation for a night like that.
They kept waiting for the moment where they shot awake in their dorm room, but it had yet to come.
No, this was real, and it was more beautiful than they ever could have imagined.
It was also over much faster than they would have liked. Y/N and Charlie bounced glances back and forth all throughout Neil’s monologue and the following final words from the poets. They were the last two to exit the cave.
Y/N spoke up once there was some distance between them and the rest of the poets, “So it was you this entire time?”
“That it was,” Charlie grinned as he shoved his hands in his pockets.
“God, you’re so annoying.”
“What?” Charlie laughed out.
“It’s such a you move to be waxing poetic to me in secret while being an absolute terror in person.”
“Well, I had to get through to you somehow.”
Y/N was having a difficult time being annoyed at the grinning boy.
“You could have tried talking to me like a normal person—you know, the old-fashioned way of doing things.”
“I thought this was the old-fashioned way?” the grin still hadn’t left Charlie’s face, and the light look in his eyes made Y/N’s stomach flutter, “Besides, you wouldn’t have had any of it.”
“Who said I’m having any of it now?”
“Well, you’re here, and you’re actually having a conversation with me without trying to run in the opposite direction,” he stopped walking and faced Y/N, “I’d say that’s a start.”
“Maybe so,” Y/N shrugged and couldn’t help the smile spreading across their face.
Charlie’s features softened, “I liked your poem, by the way…not as good as mine, but it’s the thought that counts.”
“You’re insufferable,” Y/N laughed.
“But you’re suffering me anyway.”
The pair stood in silence for a beat, exchanging soft smiles and savoring the moment.
“So, where do we go from here,” Y/N inquired, “what’s your master plan, Romeo?”
“We go out on a couple dates, get married, grow old together—you know, the usual.”
Y/N rolled their eyes as their cheeks flushed, “would it kill you to be serious for five seconds?”
“Maybe,” Charlie grinned as he entwined his hand in Y/N’s, “I’d really like to kiss you.”
“Then kiss me, Dalton.”
And so he did, and it was perfect.
That is, until the cheering and wolf whistles began from up ahead.
Y/N was impossibly red as Charlie pulled them along with him back to the poets, a mixture of pride and adoration on his face as he looked at them.
“Really, Dalton? We leave you alone with an individual for one minute and you’re already putting the moves on them?” Knox teased the boy.
“Long con, boys,” Charlie wrapped his arm around Y/N’s shoulders, “works every time.”
“Have I mentioned that you’re insufferable?”
Charlie just smirked and leaned in for another short kiss. Sounds of mock disgust fell upon deaf ears.
Meeks was right, Y/N thought, this night really did wonders for my spirit.
~~~
a/n: keeping it short and sweet for the finale—thanks for all the love on this story <3
I haven't watched Dead Poets Society in a long time and I'm suffering. I love analyzing film and cinematography. Here's what I found on my rewatch.
During the scene when Charlie plays the saxophone Neil isn't even watching. He is literally playing with the lamp the entire time.
During meetings, whenever Todd isn't sure what's happening or there's a problem, every single time he looks at Neil with a "please help" look.
This one I've been thinking about for a while but I think I have proof. During the "No <3." Scene, Neil is wearing his blanket around his shoulders. The blanket is green with a red outline. In the "Neil's dead." Scene, Todd was sleeping with the red seamed blanket. "Oh but Joseph! Weren't the blankets all the same? They wouldn't add that detail. :(." NAY I SAY. When Todd looks out his window after Charlie's expulsion, his blanket is completely green! They took Neil's blanket after he died! There is no red seam! They were gay your honor! Todd tried to steal Neil's blanket I declare.
Mr. Keating has a map of the U.K. in his classroom with a red dot of where I assume he lived.
(This one is just a theory. A CHARLIE THEORY). When Neil is driving away from Henley Hall, someone in the background says "We'll be home at 11:30." I can only assume Neil got home no earlier than 12, because his parents go to bed immediately. There are a lot of shots of Neil just contemplating what to do, so I assume that took a while. Say an hour. When Neil is in the study, it's starting to get a bit lighter outside. It's very early in the morning when Neil dies. Seriously, watch it and look out the window. My guess is Neil died at about 3 am. The next scene with Todd starts in his room and it's still dark outside. So it's safe to assume it took place at about 5:30. That means Charlie found out almost immediately. I'm guessing he must have overheard a teacher or a student. But the point is he overheard it. That means he was awake. My conclusion is that Mr. Charlie Dalton was scared out of his mind of something bad happening to his best friend, so he couldn't sleep.
When Keating walks in the room the final time, Cameron literally doesn't move his head. He looks compleatly unphased.
The only 2 people who say "O Captain My Captain." Are Todd and Knox because Charlie and Neil were everything to them.
During Neil's assembly, Knox is singing the loudest.
Getting Red
Pairing: Charlie Dalton x FemReader
Warnings: shared trauma, fluff, swearing
Summary: You and the Dead Poets attend your ten year reunion, surprised by some of the faces that show up, you all agree spending the night catching up in the old Indian cave is the best way to remember Welton and it’s glory days. In the midst of it you reconnect with an old crush.
1971
“I can’t believe I let you talk me into this” you spoke, fixing your hair in the visors mirror. Knox let out a chuckle beside you as he shook his head.
“You graduated from here too, whether you like it or not. Plus my wife couldn’t come and I didn’t want to go alone” Knox said pushing the visor up so you would stop fiddling with your hair.
“I only graduated from here because my parents forced me. I can assure you Nolan and the teachers weren’t fond of it” you said, the nerves swirling in your stomach. It felt like going to school here all over again, a piece of meat in a wolf den.
“Look I hated Welton too but I wouldn’t trade it for the world because I had you, the Dead Poets, Keating, and Chris. None of that would’ve happened without Welton” your heart softened towards the boy, understanding where he came from.
“You think they came?” you found yourself asking, hoping and praying that the boys had it in them to come back to this place because even though it held so many good memories it held bad ones too.
“Hard to say, but I hope they did” Knox, always the dreamer. Smiling over at your best friend since freshman year you sighed and pushed the door open.
“Fine, let’s get this over with” Knox smiled and hurried out the car himself. You brushed out any wrinkles on the skirt of your red dress as you waited for Knox to escort you into the building.
“You think Nolan will make an appearance?” Knox asked as you pushed through the doors, the action giving you an eerie feeling.
“Doubt it, I heard he retired a few years ago and he hated our class” Knox replied as you both made your way to where the reunion was being held. The minute you stepped foot in the room eyes turned towards you. The feeling in the air made it clear many people had been uncomfortable but your class was the one that dealt with tragedy. “I’m gonna go get us some drinks”
“Okay” you nodded as Knox helped you slip off the shawl and he moved to hang your coats and find some alcohol to ease the tension.
“Damn Y/N, you still look good as ever” looking up you rolled your eyes slightly and crossed your arms over your chest where his eyes were practically glued.
“Just cause you haven’t seen me in ten years Hopkins doesn’t mean anything has changed” you told him and he chuckled slightly.
“You’re right, but ten years later it was still worth a shot” he flashed a wink and you chuckled when suddenly he froze as he looked at something behind you.
“You okay?” you asked slowly turning around and suddenly your breath hitched. In all his glory, black suit, shaggy chestnut hair, and dopey smile stood Charlie Dalton who had been expelled before he could even graduate from the school.
“Of course Dalton would have the nerve to show up to something like this” Hopkins huffed from behind you but Charlie’s eyes locked on yours and he flashed a quick smirk as he strutted further into the room.
“Y/N my dear, you look surprised” he spoke once he was close and you tried to collect your thoughts quickly. It may have been ten years but you still wouldn’t let Charlie Dalton know he had any kind of effect on you at all.
“Well Charles, considering you didn’t graduate from this school I’m curious as to how you got an invite” you quipped back, knowing he hated being called Charles. Yet Charlie didn’t falter as looked back at you.
“Oh sweet innocent Y/N, you of all people should know Meeks still tells me everything” he gestured to a table where you had spotted the old red headed friend who had Pitts and Todd by his sides. They all offered you a small wave and you quickly waved and smiled back.
“Of course he does, only you could get kicked out of Welton and still have your henchman be so loyal” Knox now walked up behind you, a glass of wine in his hand for you when a smile grew across his face.
“Charlie!” he quickly handed you the drinks and he rushed to embrace the boy in a quick hug.
“Hey Knoxie, how’s Chris? Still hot?” Knox gave him a light shove but nonetheless the two boys laughed as they rejoiced.
“She’s great, the kids too. I see you and Y/N here already fell into your old ways” Knox could tell your annoyance immediately but the presence of Charlie just did that to people.
“Come on, let’s go see the others” Charlie moved to wrap his arm around your shoulders but you quickly knocked him away as Knox helped you with the drinks.
“Looks like I’m still losing out to Dalton” you heard Hopkins say once the boys started towards the table. Slowly you turned, knowing he was right because no guy in Welton ever did compare to Charlie.
“It was good to see you” you told him with a soft smile. He smiled back and you gave his arm a squeeze before you moved to the table where you belonged. You hadn’t spotted Cameron but that was more than likely a good thing considering what he had done to the group and Keating.
“Charlie Dalton, of course you’d show up to the reunion of a school you got kicked out of” Todd stood and shook the man’s hand, pulling him into a hug. He had really come out of his shell the last ten years but it really started after Neil had passed.
“I couldn’t help myself, to bad Nolan is an antique because I would’ve really enjoyed seeing his face when I came through those doors” Charlie told the group as you said your quiet hellos to Meeks and Pitts.
“And Y/N you look beautiful as ever” Todd said as you and the group all filled the seats around the table. Crazy how quickly you could fall into old habits.
“Thank you Todd, how’s your latest book coming along?” you asked. You had kept in touch over the years and Todd had been doing extremely well for himself. He had published two books and that was all thanks to Keating. Too bad he wasn’t here to tell him that.
“Slowly but that’s the process” he smiled and you nodded before taking a long sip from the drink Knox had gotten you.
“So, how bad is it?” Knox whispered to the boys who had been there a bit longer than them.
“Well all these assholes have graduated from ivy leagues and are richer than God. What a surprise, I know” Meeks spoke, sarcasm lacing his tongue to which the rest of the group snickered.
“They even set up this memorial for Neil. It’s ten years later and they still want us to blame anyone other than this school and his father” Pitts said and the group turned and sure enough at the end of one of the tables was a picture of Neil surrounded by stuff from his time here.
“Makes me sick” you spoke, your stomach clenching as you closed your eyes. It never hurt any less losing a friend like that.
“He would’ve loved to come to this. See everyone ten years later. He probably would’ve dragged all of our asses into going” Charlie said because he came here for the same reason everyone else did. If Neil had never died none of them would’ve cared to come back to this school but because he did coming back was as close as they could get to seeing him again.
“He would’ve been happy about it too” Todd said and the group all smiled sadly at each other. You often wondered if any of you would’ve stayed in touch if Neil had never passed because sometimes it felt like you all did for him.
“Hey, here’s to Neil and sucking all the marrow out of life” Charlie held his glass up and the rest of you followed suit as you clinked glasses and all took a drink. The conversation was obviously sad but you all had grown used to the feeling.
“As long as you don’t choke on the bone” you winked at the boy beside you and Charlie smiled, surprised you had remembered. Yet how could you forget when the stunt he pulled nearly got you kicked out of the school.
“Well I’ve had about enough of this reunion, how about you guys? Perhaps we can have a reunion of our own” Charlie rose his eyebrows and grins danced across each of the boys faces as they eagerly nodded.
“I’ll steal a bottle of champagne” Knox said and without any spoken agreement everyone moved to collect their coats and leave the stuffy room full of boys who have no idea what life could really feel like.
“This is so fun, I feel so free knowing we’re doing this and we don’t have to worry about getting caught” Knox said as you all made your way through the woods, the route to the old Indian cave still clear as day.
“This feels like the first time we came out here” Todd said as they started to pick up their pace. Before you knew it the boys were all fairly ahead of you, unable to keep up in your footwear.
“Need a lift?” Charlie appeared at your side as you unstuck your heel from the grass. Laughing lightly you looked at him.
“If you could?” you weren’t usually one to say yes to Charlie but at this rate you’d be left alone in the woods and that terrified you.
“Alright princess, hop on” he squatted down in front of you and you were surprised your first reaction wasn’t to be annoyed that he called you princess. It was actually quite nice hearing him say it for the first time in a decade. You swiftly hopped onto his back and his arms locked underneath your knees as he started walking towards the boys. “You didn’t yell at me for the pet name”
“Contrary to your belief Charlie but I missed you and even though I don’t really prefer you belittling me with pet names like princess it was still nice to hear” you spoke, your hot breath hitting his neck and he smiled.
“Wow, you admitted you missed me and it was followed by more nice words. I’m in shock” Charlie said and you laughed, your chest bumping into his back with each laugh.
“It’s been a while, I figure we can’t spend all of our time bickering even though that is our favorite past time” you said as you rested you chin on his shoulder, thankful he offered to carry you through the woods.
“How’s that fiancé of yours, what’s his name? Marion?” you rolled your eyes at Charlie’s bash towards the man’s name.
“Martin and I’m assuming fine considering we broke off the engagement” Charlie’s eyes widened at this, surprised you of all people were still on the market.
“Oh. I’m sorry” Charlie told you but you shook your head on his shoulder.
“It’s okay, I broke it off. He wanted me to be a housewife and my degree from Harvard said otherwise” you told him and Charlie grinned at the fact you were still tough as nails, taking no shit from nobody as you navigated through life. Keating would be proud.
“Well, his loss” Charlie said as you approached the entrance of the cave. He slowly slipped you off his back, helping you to the ground before allowing you to enter first.
“There you are, we had to keep Todd from starting the meeting” Knox said as you both entered and you laughed as you climbed into the cave and took a seat, Charlie plopping next to you. Pitts finished starting the small fire and Todd stood up beside it.
“Go for it Todd” Charlie said and Todd smiled as he pulled the book from his coat.
“Keating left it in my dorm. I didn’t have the heart to ever get rid of it” he explained as he turned it over in his hands and opened the cover. “I went into the woods because I wanted to live deliberately-“
“To live deep and suck all the marrow out of life. To put to rout all that was not life and not when I came to die discover that I had not lived” the rest of you chimed in, the words never leaving your souls.
“Who wants to go first?” Todd asked and Charlie stood swiftly, Todd moving so he could take center stage. You took this time to look around the cave, your stomach tightening when you saw the God of the Cave still where Neil had left it, just worn down from the years.
“I actually came prepared” he said as he denied the book from Todd and pulled a piece of paper out of his suit jacket.
“Dark in the night, we felt free. Like taking flight, like birds in a tree. The moon our spotlight, the words so sweet. We loved with great might, and hurt so deep. Bonded in weather, our message forever, missing you together, the Dead Poets and me” a tear slipped from your eye and you quickly wiped it away as the boys applauded.
“Hey Charlie, that was great” Knox patted his back as he sat back down.
“I wanted to write a poem for tonight but no matter what I put down it ended up being about how I felt about this place” he said and the boys nodded, knowing what he had meant. Welton was never the same and they were changed forever.
“I’ll go next” Knox said and Todd handed him the book. Knox read and the rest of the boys followed, you all passing around the bottle of champagne. You stood as well, reading from the book, and trying to memorize the feeling of what it was like to read in the cave again. But once the meeting was over the rest of you still couldn’t find the heart to leave. If you could live in this moment forever you would.
“I’m gonna get some fresh air” Charlie perked up beside you and stepped out the cave. The boys watched as he moved out and you decided to follow after.
“Yes, fresh air indeed” you spoke sarcastically as you saw the now lit cigarette dangling from his lips.
“Needed a buzz doll, visiting the past can be a bit overwhelming” he spoke, the cigarette dancing across his lips, his hands shoved deeply in his pockets from the cold night air.
“Yeah, I get that” you said as you grabbed the cigarette from his lips, your fingers brushing softly against them as you pulled it away to take a long drag yourself. His breath hitched as you pulled it away, your red lipstick stained on the end, as you placed it back in his mouth.
“It’s a nice feeling, all of us together again. No Cameron is a perk too” he knocked you with his shoulder, never liking the boy long before he finked.
“Is it wrong I wish things were still like this?” you asked and Charlie chuckled. One thing you both had in common was you had romanticized this part of your life, and maybe now allowing anyone new into your life wouldn’t come close to feeling as good as this.
“No, at least I think so. I would do anything to get back those nights in the cave” you nodded along with him, holding your hand out, a sign to pass you the cigarette. He obeyed and passed it to you, both of you staring off into the darkness of the woods.
“Do you think we’re still single because people will never understand the things we’ve gone through?” you asked, because there wasn’t many woman your age that weren’t married yet and you were running out of single men.
“Yeah, but I have more reasons than that” Charlie spoke, taking the cigarette back to give it one final drag.
“Yeah, like what?” you asked as he stomped out the bud, the cigarette light no longer illuminating his face.
“Well for starters no girl I’ve met has ever come close to you” you gasped slightly at his admission, shocked to hear that all those years of bickering Charlie felt the same way about you that you did him.
“Why didn’t you ever reach out?” you nervously asked, trying to calm your breathing as he stepped closer.
“Well I didn’t think I deserved someone as amazing as you. After I got kicked out I felt like I deserved nothing” he said, you now both facing each other, chests only an inch apart.
“And now?” you whispered due to the close proximity and he smiled as he pushed some of your hair behind your ear.
“Now I know we all deserve to be happy. I also think it’s a sign both of us being single all these years later. So I want to give this a shot” Charlie spoke and you nervously swallowed, surprised grown Charlie had you as worked up as teenager Charlie would’ve.
“Okay” was all you could say and he grinned as he leaned down and pulled you mouth against his. His hands slid up into your hair and you didn’t care as you grabbed his hips, kissing back with everything you had in you.
“Shit, I’ve always wanted to do that” Charlie said, panting slightly as he pulled away, your red lipstick smeared across his face.
“Me too” you grinned before pulling him into another kiss. This time you wrapped your arms around his neck as he ran his down your back. The need to be against each other overtaking anything else.
“We should get back in before they get suspicious” Charlie pulled back and you smirked at his lipstick covered face and nodded, knowing he wasn’t aware you had made your mark. You nodded and allowed him to lead you back into the cave, snickers immediately coming from the others.
“Look at that, Nuwanda’s getting red bit worked” Todd spoke and the rest of the boys busted out laughing to which you sat back down, enjoying how embarrassed he was.
“You got a little something here buddy” Meeks told him and he pointed to his lips and Charlie tried to wipe away the lipstick but a lot of it stayed.
“Told you it drives girls crazy”
Headcanons: Charlie Dalton, Neil Perry and Todd Anderson Taking Care of Their Sick S/O
MASTERLIST | AO3 | KO-FI
Relationship(s): Charlie Dalton x sick!gn!reader (romantic), Neil Perry x sick!gn!reader , Todd Anderson x sick!gn!reader (romantic)
Warnings: The reader has a cold so... yeah. Also, since I'm sick myself, my brain isn't really working at it's normal level so apologies for any mistakes! (Let me know if I need to add any)
(A/N: Unfortunately I'm still sick (it's only been a few days). Fortunately, I'm still motivated to write headcanons to get me through this relatively mild illness (and I'm starting to feel better)! I've got a Todd one-shot draft that I started a year ago and never got around to finishing, so here's my first offering to the Dead Poets Society fandom. I'd love to write more for it, both reader-insert and not. I'm not sure if I'll end up writing any more sick fics (I've already written hcs for Yellowjackets and Abed Nadir and Annie Edison from Community) since I should be better soon, but if you're still interested check out my fandom list and requesting info and feel free to send an ask!)
Tumblr media
CHARLIE
Charlie will jokingly tell you that you’re disgusting.
If you’re not amused by that, he’ll awkwardly but sincerely apologise, his mortification thinly veiled.
He isn’t entirely sure what the hell to do to make you less sick.
(He'll have to consult his more medically knowledgeable friends for advice)
He will ask you if you want him to kiss it all better.
(And he will not hesitate to kiss you when you give him the go ahead)
Suffice it to say, he does not care all that much about getting sick himself.
(A small part of him hopes that he does get sick so you'll have to take care of him)
He will spend so much time with you, you’d think you were dying.
He will also get you anything you ask for (even if it has no clear use in making you physically better- he just wants to make you happy).
If his earlier attempt at joking doesn't work, he'll still persist in cracking jokes and making you laugh to make you feel better.
(If your laughter causes you to break out into a coughing fit, though, he will feel awful).
NEIL
Neil knows exactly what to do.
He may not like his dad's dream of him becoming a doctor, but damn he has such a knack for looking after you.
He makes sure you’re drinking enough fluids and taking any medicine you need to take.
No matter how disgusting you might get, Neil is completely unfazed the whole time.
If anything, he'll find it funny and try to keep you in as high spirits as possible.
If he does mind getting sick, he certainly doesn't show it.
For example, he doesn't hesitate when kissing you on the cheek or forehead.
He loves you so much that it really won’t matter to him if you can- or do- get him sick.
He’ll regularly ask you if there’s anything that you want or need, and if you’re comfortable, and if you’re too hot or cold.
It’s evident that he cares about you getting better.
He’ll sit at your bedside and try to take your mind off of how you’re feeling.
But, he will insist that you need to rest up, so when you’re asleep or trying to fall asleep he’ll be as quiet as humanly possible to make sure he doesn’t wake you up.
If he does end up waking you, he’ll feel terrible about it.
He’s so loving and caring anyway, but especially when you’re sick.
TODD
This guy is fucking terrified.
He assumes that anything he does will only make you sicker.
A small part of him is convinced you will die under his care.
So, he begs Neil for advice, and Neil humours him so that Todd doesn’t drive himself nuts.
Todd will regularly ask you if you need something, and he’ll repeatedly offer you whatever Neil advised him about.
He’s also completely torn between his innate desire not to get himself sick, and his deep love and affection for you.
So, please don’t get upset with him if he recoils almost every time you cough and sneeze, because he does spend as much time as he possibly can at your bedside.
Speaking of which, Todd sits at your bedside like a loyal golden retriever.
He’ll hold your hand (internally panicking about your high temperature, of course) and place the occasional kiss on the back of it.
He’ll also read some of his poems, works in progress and completed, out to you, and he’ll make sure to pick plenty that are about you specifically.
Sure, he’s nervous, but you love his poetry and all he wants to do is reduce how terrible you feel.
Hi! I looooove your writing!!!! If it’s no problem, could you right about the boys (specifically Meeks, but I saw that you write for all of them too, so whichever you prefer doing) having a huge crush on keating’s daughter and maybe asking her out?
Mr Keating’s Daughter | [Steven Meeks/fem!Reader]
"I don't know why you read that, you aren't going to follow it anyways," you muttered. You saw a smile rise as he put the book down.
"It keeps me occupied before classes start," he winked and you rolled your eyes. "Shouldn't you be heading over to your school?"
You scoffed, "Why can't I just go here? It would be so much easier for the both of us," you complained. He only shook his head.
"For you to be surrounded by cute boys to distract you? Now, hurry along or you'll be late for your classes."
You groaned before getting off and heading out. You began walking, you looked around the school and admired the building. The walls adorned by ancient photographs of past alumni. You smiled at all of it.
"Hello?" You heard a boys voice say, it snapped you from your fantasy world.
"Hello?" You said back staring in front of you.
"Do you go here?" He asked and you shook your head.
"I'm a teachers daughter. Just heading to school..." You said approaching him. You noticed him and really took in his features.
Curly ginger hair, brown eyes, and big glasses that took up most of his face. You saw his cheeks turn a rose shade of pink and you smiled.
"Sorry, you must not get a lot of girls around here," you smiled and extended your hand for him to shake.
"No, not really..." He mumbled shaking your hand.
"Well, I really should get going. Another tardy and it's a detention for me," you winked before walking away. He watched as you walked away, still in a trance he didn't notice Mr. Keating behind him.
[POV switch]
"I like you very much Mr. Meeks," he said startling him. "Keep your hands away from my daughter, okay?"
Meeks turned around and nodded nervously. Mr Keating walked away as he stood there frozen. No way that beautiful girl is Mr. Keating’s daughter. He shook the feeling away and continued his walk back to his dorm.
He had forgotten his tie, which wasn’t the first time he did that. He walked it, grabbed it, and walked back to the dinning room. The fuzzy feeling resurfaced, the thought of the girl came back.
He sat by his friends still awestruck.
“Meeks?!” Charlie shouted finally throwing a paper ball at him.
“What?” Meeks said startled, he looked at Charlie who had a smirk.
“Who are you thinking about?” Charlie asked mocking Meeks’ lovestruck look.
“None of your business,” he mumbled moving his food from one side to the other.
“It is so my business,” Charlie scoffed offendedly, “If there’s a girl I have to know!”
“Just leave him alone, he must really like this girl if he is keeping it from us,” Neil defended. The bell rang, saving Meeks from Charlie’s interrogation.
Meeks and Pitts walked besides each other.
“You have to tell me who this girl is,” Pitts said looking at Meeks who was much shorter then him.
“I don’t have to do anything,” Meeks mumbled.
“At least tell me if she’s pretty!” Pitts begged.
“She is very pretty,” Meeks blushed.
“You have go introduce me to her! It’s not everyday that we see girls!” Pitts pleaded.
“Obviously not. Besides she doesn’t go here…” Meeks sighed devastated. Pitts and him entered the classroom, they sat at the back of the classroom. Todd and Neil were in the same class but sat in the front, and Charlie and Cameron were by the windows.
Meeks had trouble concentrating in his classes, the girl was still on his mind.
English rolled around and they all walked together to Mr. Keating’s classroom.
“Good evening gentlemen,” Mr. Keating said smiling at the boys entering. “Good evening Mr. Meeks.”
“Good evening Mr. Keating,” they smiled walking to their assigned seats.
Class went on as usual, until the girl from before interrupted the classroom.
“(Y/n)?” Mr. Keating said as she waved to him.
“Last class was canceled so I decided to come… early.” She whispered walking to him.
“That’s okay, go on to the back and do some homework,” Mr. Keating smiled and patted her shoulder.
“(Y/n),” Meeks whispered.
“Sorry gentlemen, that was my daughter,” Mr. Keating announced. He resumed class without another mention of her.
Class was over as everyone packed up for their final class of the day. It was a short Study Hall class. Yet no one was talking about school or homework or how hard the Latin test was. The only thing people were talking about how beautiful Mr. Keating’s daughter was.
“I so call dibs on her!” Charlie announced.
“You can’t dibs a girl, Charlie!” Neil scolded.
“I so can and I so did,” Charlie smirked. Meeks rolled his eyes at Charlie.
They entered the classroom and split into a group of three. Cameron, Meeks, Pitts and Charlie, Neil, Todd.
“That must be your mystery girl,” Pitts whispered to Meeks who blushed.
“Can you two stop talking about girls? It’s Mr. Keating’s daughter have some respect!” Cameron scolded.
Pitts rolled his eyes at him and continued to talk about her with Meeks.
“Cameron is right, that’s Keating’s daughter. We should be respectful and not talk about her like she’s an object.” Meeks whispered to Pitts.
“Tell that to Charlie, he is going around announcing that she’s going to be his girlfriend.” Pitts whispered back.
“Charlie is starting to piss me off,” Meeks whispered.
Class ended and everyone walked to their assigned dorms. Meeks decided to make a detour to the restroom. Deep down he was hoping to bump into her.
He sighed as he climbed up the stairs with no sign of the young girl.
“Meeks?” He heard a feminine voice say from behind him. He quickly turned around to see her at the end of the stairs.
“Yes?” He responded.
She climbed up the steps and smiled at him, “I was starting to feel like you were avoiding me.”
“Avoiding? Why would I ever do that?” He laughed nervously.
“Doesn’t matter, want to walk with me? I forgot something at school and really should get it,” she smiled and Meeks nodded.
[POV Switch]
You walked besides the nervous boy and began telling him about your day.
“Janine is such a bitch,” you told him. “She’s cheer captain and is so taking my spotlight. I voted for Amelia to be captain but everyone always picks the cheerful two faced girl to be cheer captain.” You laughed.
An awkward silence began. You enjoyed the leaves crunching on the floor.
“So… tell me about your friends, how is Welton like?” You smiled and he shrugged.
“Not as interesting as your school. Being in a school full of boys is kind of lame. We take everything seriously and really aren’t allowed to enjoy ourselves.” Meeks complained.
“I bet, for the tuition your parents pay I would think the staff would be awfully strict. Where I go no one takes anything seriously.” You smiled.
“Must be nice,” Meeks smiled.
You shook your head, “In all honesty… I don’t think I’m being used to my full potential. I take advanced classes yet those feel so unchallenging. I’ve been begging my dad to enroll me at Welton or at the very least Henley Hall! I mean I think I could really use the challenge!” You laughed and he laughed with you.
You entered the school with Meeks following behind. You opened up your locker and took out your math and science textbooks.
The walk back was more quiet then the walk there. You could feel your heart beating quickly as your face reddened.
“So, call me crazy but I really like you,” you smiled at him.
“W-what?” He stuttered.
“Yeah! Although you aren’t very talkative I don’t mind! I can talk for the both of us,” you laughed. “I know my dad probably told you to back off, but I would really like to go out. There’s this really cool library cafe combo Downtown if you’re free on Saturday.”
“I’m very free on Saturday,” Meeks smiled.
“Cool. I’ll see you then,” you smiled at him.
You parted ways from Meeks to go to your dad’s classroom.
[POV Switch]
Meeks walked to his dorm his face red like a tomato. His heart was racing and it felt like he could collapse from a heart attack at any point. He entered his dorm and with a giddy expression.
“What happened? You were gone for like hours,” Pitts asked.
“Well, let’s just say I have a date on Saturday,” he smiled.
“Seriously?! With who? Keating’s daughter?!” Pitts exclaimed and Meeks nodded happily. “That’s amazing! Charlie is going to be so angry!” Pitts laughed.
“To hell with Charlie! I have a date with the prettiest girl ever!” Meeks smiled and flopped on his bed.
Hey everyone! So I finally wrote a thing!! I’m pretty sure is absolute garbage but 🥰 I’m here! Attempting to replenish the lack of DPS fan fiction!! So here it is (also I forgot how to add a Keep Reading bar on mobile help)
Tumblr media
Summary: you’re new at Welton and your cousin Charlie’s friends take you in! Neil Perry x female reader x Platonic! Charlie Dalton
“She’s off limits, thanks.” A blunt voice sounds from behind me. It’s my cousin Charlie only naturally. I’ve just transferred to Welton Academy, now that they’ve begun accepting girls. The only downside of this is that my over protective older cousin Charlie won’t give it a rest. Of course there were ups and downs to the whole thing. Charlie had introduced me to his friends initially so I knew someone in most classes, but they were mostly boys, who flirt a lot, or act like they’ve never seen a woman before.
“I’ll decide if I’m limited!” I angrily turned to whisper yell at him, after giving a polite smile to Pitts who I was just speaking to. This obscure comment makes Charlie roll his eyes.
“Are you coming to the meeting tonight?” He asks casually as we all stand on the campus outside.
“Uh yeah If I still can.” I respond hoping the so-called “Dead Poets Society” meeting was still open to me. “Yeah you can!” Neil cuts in from looking at his book. He stands up from the brick wall he was leaning on.
For some reason this assurance makes me grin. I suppose if Neil says I can… I then turn back to Charlie. “I’ll come get you at.. let’s say 9?” He says in a hushed tone and walks away pointing to his watch.
I will admit. I’m appreciative to have a somewhat big brother on campus. Charlie and I spent most of our childhood when he wasn’t here, together anyway, so we really are family, cousins, and friends.
At 9 I’m waiting in my dorm. I’m in some comfortable slacks and a large coat when I hear a tap on my window. I open it expecting the boyish grin from my cousins. I open the drapes revealing a Neil Perry. I open the window curiously. “Hey- it’s you?” I ask. “Yeah! Charlie’s down there but Cameron forgot something so they went back they’ll meet us- hi..” he says with his typical smile and laid back demeanor whining with excitement. His brown hair is a mess from the hostile weather outside.
Later I sit in the cave. A mere observer for now since I wouldn’t have anything to share my first time here. I smile and shake my head as Charlie continues this Nawanda act. Neil who stands in the middle of us all looks toward me with a smile “I forgot to ask- Y/N would you like to share anything?” He asks with a warm inviting expression. Like he truly would love for me to get up there. I smile appreciatively and shake my head. “Not this time Neil thank you..!”
After the meeting we sneak back. To ensure I got back safely Charlie offers to be the one to sneak to the girls dorms with me.
“I’ll come too..?” Neil suggests softly. Charlie nods and quietly ushers us in.
“Goodnight guys!” I wave a bit as I quietly try to enter into my dorm which is extremely difficult with decades old door hinges.
As Charlie and Neil walk back, they enter a quiet hallway where Charlie mumbles grinning to Neil. “So you like her..?”
“What?” Neil asks with fake confusion. He figured he could pull it off because he’s never been much of a lady chaser.
“What?” Charlie mocks. “You like her! Y/N!”
Neil blushes knowing only Charlie knows him like that. They stop in the hallway by their dorm rooms.
“She’s a very lovely girl-“ Neil starts, attempting to be indirect. Charlie just chuckles and says. “Alright I know… it’s fine” he waves off “although…you should ask her about theater or whatever.. she’s into that..” Charlie says playfully but also with thought. It’s a bit funny Neil is the only person Charlie would even consider trusting in such a situation. They both say good nights and enter their dorms on opposite sides.
It didn’t matter how many times you’d done this, you were always nervous. You were able to play in front of a full theatre but reciting lines in front of your boyfriend was intimidating.
“These are the forgeries of jealousy: and never, since the middle summer’s spring, met we on hill, in dale, forest or mead-” you stopped, forgetting what was next when you met Steven’s eyes.
“What?” you asked with a smile. Meeks was looking at you softly, your text between his hands.
He let out a chuckle “Nothing, go on, Y/n.” His lips were tugged up, amused but you chose to ignore it, you had to learn your lines as quickly as possible.
“Met we on hill, in dale, forest or mead,” you continued, “by paved fountain or by rushy brook, or in the beached margent of the sea, to dance our ringlets to the whistling wind, but with thy brawls thou hast disturb’d our sport.”
You tried your best to put feelings and intonations into it, making Shakespeare’s words real for a second and Meeks was watching you, amazed by the way you let your emotions get you.
But it only took you a glance at the ginger boy to break character, an annoyed smile finding your lips “Steven!”
“I didn’t do anything!”
“Yes, you did! You keep staring at me!”
Meeks let out a chuckle “Well yeah, why would I look away?”
You groaned before trying to continue your lines “Therefore the winds, piping to us in vain, as in revenge, have suck’d up from the sea, contagious fogs; which falling in the land have every pelting river made so proud that they have overborne their continents.”
You went on and on, sometimes stuttering or forgetting some words that Meeks would remind you of. When you were done, you let out a long sigh “It was good!” Meeks said enthusiastically but you couldn’t agree.
“No…”
“For a first try, it was!” Meeks was always encouraging and supporting you. No matter what you were doing, he was there cheering you.
You pouted your lips and Meeks could only get off your bed to come by your side “You were good, honey,” he said, wrapping his arms around you.
You let your head rest against his shoulder “I’m scared I’ll fail. This audition is important for me, what if I mess this up?”
“You won’t mess this up. You’ll do great… as always!” he smiled at you before gently kissing your lips “We’ll work on this together and you'll pass this audition.”
You laugh at his enthusiasm, feeling already a little reassured. You settled your head in the crook of neck “Thank you Steven,” you whispered, your hand playing with the hair on his nape.
He hummed contently in the embrace, kissing the crown of your head. You both stayed in each other’s arms as comfortable silence settle in your dorm, the only sound existing being the muffled song of the birds outside.
After a few minutes you decided to go back to learning your lines. With the help of your boyfriend, you were able to recite your lines more and more fluidly, putting more and more emotion into them. When you decided you were done for today, you laid down on your bed, Meeks joining you quickly, his head resting on your chest, you fingers playing with his red curls.
You let yourself relax under the weight of his body, closing your eyes. The stress of your upcoming audition left your mind for an instant. By Meeks’ side you never had to worry.
“Thank you for helping me,” you murmured.
Meeks lifted his head, looking into your eyes dreamily “Your welcome, darling,” he said before pressing your lips against yours “You’ll do great, I know it.”
