Meghan Markle's return to "the family she never had" narrative & other Fantastical Origin Stories
Thanks to Chef Cory Vitiello, we have evidence of yet another origin story lie told during megflop by the Duchess of Delusions, Meghan Markle of Sussex County, NJ.
In 2016 (the same year she cheated on Cory with Sparry), Chef Cory Vitiello used his connections to help MeMe obtain a gig judging 1 episode of Food Network's Chopped Junior. Meghan told the world she grew up on farm to table food in California where her fondest memories were in the kitchen.
Meghan Markle 2016 Chopped Junior on Food Network:

"Growing up your fondest memories, at least for me are in the kitchen." "This dish reminded me of the kind of food I grew up eating in California, like that real farm to table fresh simple ingredients"
In 2024, while taping her megflop lifestyle series for Netflix, MeMe told Mindy Kaling that she was a latchkey kid who ate TV dinners and fast food.
Netflix Episode 2 Mindy Kaling

Mindy: "Did you used to do this with your mom, growing up?"
Meghan Markle the Fantasist & Pathological Liar: I grew up as a latchkey kid, so I grew up with a lot of fast food.

Dulce is starting to feel overwhelmed! Is the pressure to win getting to her? Or is it something else...? We won't be finding out in the next segment.
Start from the beginning
Previous | Next
(1.) [Carlo] Tsk, tsk. They should have thought more outside the box. Also, Dulce really has to watch the time. Andrea, please check on the contestants.
(2.) [Andrea] How is everything, Chef Dulce?
[Dulce] Ehh, I'm not entirely happy with the flavor and spice, so I think I'll add some red chiles too.
(3.) I have to push through and make it to the dessert round. I think once I get there, the title of Diced Junior Champion is mine since I'm a baker's daughter.
(4.) [Alex] Hi, Andrea. Sorry, I can't really talk right now. Gotta focus.
[Andrea] Oh, okay-
(5.) [Alex] I hope she didn't find that rude. Like I said, I like Andrea. Carlo is kind of getting on my nerves, though. You're worried about time but also want us to stop and chitchat for a while? Let me work, man.
(6.) [Andrea] How's your progress, Rubiya?
[Rubiya] The jicama isn't really cooperating with me right now... but everything else is good!
(7.) [Rubiya] It'd be life-changing for me if I won. I could use that money for culinary school. There's always the regional spelling bees that I'll try in the future, but nothing is ever guaranteed in life. Take every chance you get.
(8.) [Alex] If I won, I would donate the money to the ALS Association. My grandpa in Henford-on-Bagley recently passed away from ALS complications. He was a nice man. He would take me around his farm, and he even gave some goats to my parents.
(9.) [Alex] That's why I know how to raise goats and cook the meat... hey! I guess Lewis and I aren't that much different. We know a thing or two about the farm life.
(10.) [Dulce] If I won, I would give most of the money to my mom for our bakery. There were some people who... took advantage of certain things, so the bakery suffered for a long time. Everything is okay now, but not exactly like how it used to be.
(11.) [Alex] Dang, I almost forgot about my jicama! I have to still spiralize it too.
(12.) [Mia] Wow, I've never seen such concentration from young chefs before. They are fully immersed.
[Sofia] Bring me back as a judge next season! I'll be recording a deluxe version of my album, but I'll make time.
(13.) [Dulce] Done dicing and chopping everything! I'll add everything to the pot and put back the extra things in the fridge.
(14.) [Rubiya] What a beautiful color.
(15.) [Dulce] Excu-
[Alex] Oh crud-
(16.) [Alex] Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! Are you okay?
[Dulce] Oh, um-
(17.) [Alex] Dulce? Are you okay?
[Dulce] Yeah, yeah, just a little embarrassed.
[Alex] Here, let me help you clean up.
(18.) [Andrea's Voiceover] Meanwhile, Rubiya is focused on her dish, as she should be!
[Rubiya] Hmmmm... is there anything else I can add?
(19.) [Alex] Are you sure you're okay?
[Dulce] Yeah, don't worry about it, but I have to go check on my soup! Hopefully it's about done, I left it simmering.
(20.) [Sofia] Good thing everyone is okay!
[Mia] Chefs, you guys have 5 minutes left on the clock! Please start plating soon.

flufftober day 8: chopping and piling wood
akaashi isn't the biggest fan of camping, but he does appreciate the outdoors. it's because of his indifference that lets bokuto bring him camping when their schedules allow it, and the weather isn't too hot. they camp alone most of the time, but whenever their schedules align, kuroo and kenma join in for double the fun.
the campground is quiet. akaashi and kenma set up the tent, bokuto and kuroo assembling the rest of their campsite. their site comes with a campfire pit, and judging by the wood still in the trunk, they're going to have a huge fire tonight.
"ugh. i'm tired already." kenma rocks back onto his heels after hammering the last peg into the ground. akaashi reaches over to unzip the front door so he can move their backpacks inside.
"i didn't think you'd come along." the last time they camped altogether was in high school, after bokuto got his license. kenma got an allergic reaction from a bug bite and swore to never camp again, unless they were staying in a cabin.
kenma sighs, straightening up. "i didn't want to, but kuro bought equipment for me and i don't want to go to waste." camping is surprisingly expensive, which is why akaashi considers himself lucky that he can borrow from someone else.
they crawl into the tent to spread the mats and sleeping bags, listening to their partners gossip about various volleyball players, complain about new tournament rules, and gush about recent dates. "did you know that they're competing to see who'll propose first?" kenma asks.
"my bet is on kou."
"same. i don't want to get married, so if kuro ever asks, i'm going to say no."
"i can hear you, kitten!" kuroo shouts. "must you hurt me like that?"
"what about me, keiji?" bokuto yells over him. "would you say yes if i propose?"
"yes," akaashi answers. "bold of you to assume that i won't propose first."
"no, keiji! you can't propose until i propose!"
"that's not how it works, idiot!" there's a loud slap, followed by bokuto's indignant yelp and footsteps scuffing against the ground. akaashi and kenma roll their eyes.
afterwards, they sit on lawn chairs and watch kuroo and bokuto move the wood from the trunk to the small space beside the pit. bokuto has an axe in hand, kuroo with a hatchet, mirrored smirks on their faces. normally, akaashi wouldn’t trust his partner with anything larger than a vacuum cleaner, but things are different when they’re outside. he doesn’t know how either of them learned to use either tool, but it’s better than him or kenma.
“i can make shavings,” akaashi offers, taking the pocketknife out from his jacket.
“thanks, keiji! we’ll get some sticks for you soon.” bokuto hefts the axe over his shoulder, saluting with his other hand. kuroo lays a tarp on the ground, the stump used for chopping, and then they start.
let it be known that akaashi’s gay awakening started when he watched bokuto soar through the air during his third year of junior high, blinded by his brilliance. it started as admiration, and as he caught glimpses of his bare chest while changing through high school, it turned into attraction, and then panic, and then acceptance.
which is why he can’t wrench his eyes away when bokuto places a log on top of the stump, takes aim, and raises the axe over his head to swing, arm muscles on full display under the early autumn afternoon. the log splits in half, and bokuto re-positions one half, moves the other aside to chop. he does it again, the satisfying crack echoing around them.
“you’re staring.”
akaashi glances at kenma, who has his knees up, tablet balanced on his knees. “i think i should be allowed to watch my boyfriend without judgment,” he replies. another crack fills the air, but not from the axe - this time, from the hatchet.
kuroo is chopping the smaller logs into sticks. his arm muscles ripple with every swing, eyes focused so he wouldn’t chop his fingers off. kenma watches, and it’s akaashi’s turn to call him out.
“we’re spoiled, aren’t we?” akaashi comments. kenma nods in agreement.
eventually, they’re put to work, with akaashi making shavings and kenma preparing curry for dinner. as daylight fades, they cradle their bowls and sit around the fire, flames licking the wood, embers spiraling upwards. bokuto shifts his chair closer to lean on akaashi, resting his head on his shoulder. “we need to get a two-man chair,” he mumbles. “how can we cuddle like this?”
“i brought a picnic blanket so we can sit on the ground,” akaashi offers.
“they took it.” he points to the other couple, chairs abandoned, kenma on kuroo’s lap on the blanket. “plus, a two-man chair would be so much cooler. who wants to sit on the ground?”
“not us, of course.”
“we can hear you,” kuroo calls out. bokuto sticks a tongue out, and in the fading light, akaashi sees kuroo flip him the bird.
night descends, occasional conversation stirring, but they mostly sit around the fire and watch the flames. akaashi reaches for bokuto’s hand, lithe fingers wrapped in his calloused grip. “thanks for bringing us out, kou,” akaashi murmurs.
“anything to spend the night with my favorite people in the world.” bokuto leans forward to kiss him.
“maybe we should invest in a two-man sleeping bag, too.”
“please don’t,” kenma calls out. “i won’t ever come if you do.”
“aw, kitten, maybe we should get a two-man sleeping bag,” kuroo says teasingly.
“i’d rather not. i put up with you kicking me in your sleep too much already.”
“kitten!”
their laughs join the embers in the air.

This isn’t a request or anything but I wanted to know if you agree with a headcannon of mine. Okay, I feel like Carmey watches tv with you when he can and it’s a bonding thing to watch reality tv. It’s quality time that decompresses and no one needs to speak, that is so Carmey coded.
So, I think that Carmen would watching cooking competition shows for inspiration, but I think his gulity pleasure is the junior British bake off because it’s very calm and no one is mean at all. I think that might be a dad Carmen thing to actively do things that make him calm, like that after a long rough shift at the bear. And hands massaging his hair as he is trying to stay up.
omg yes or just imagining one night at the bear, you decide to do a "team bonding" type exercise, maybe in the style sorta like chopped. one vs one, with different people as judges.
carmen vs sydney. three courses: apps, main, dessert. first mystery item they have to use is those shitty mandarin oranges that come in a plastic cup.
carmen makes a scallop and carrot puree spoon app blends the oranges in with the carrot for sweetness. syd makes a summer kale salad with fresh fruit and fresh oranges, but uses the juice to make a vinaigrette.
second round you use cotton candy grapes as your mystery item, the whole team cheering and egging them on while they try to cook something in the short amount of time. carmen makes a chuteny out of the grapes and serves it with rice and naan. sydney goes with a chicken salad sandwich on sourdough, a sweet and spicy sort of recipe.
last round is dessert and you choose asparagus, mainly because you hate it and you want to see what they come up with. sydney pulls out a sort of asparagus flan that disguises the taste. carmen attempted to do an asparagus tart that you gagged when you ate lol.
sydney was the winner, easily, the whole kitchen hyping her up before it was tina and marcus' turn.
even you and richie (notoriously the worst cooks in the kitchen lol) when head and head at one round. the ingredient being black garlic, which you used to make fancy butter noodles and richie used to make garlic bread... both weren't great but the staff got a kick out of watching the two of you scream and run around the kitchen.

I REALIZE I MIGHT SEEM TO BE NUMEROUS OR ENERGETIC ENOUGH TO HAVE HAD THEIR INTERESTS PROMOTED TO A LIFESTYLE
Once railroads or electric power grids were invented, every region had to have them. Hardy's boast that number theory had no use whatsoever wouldn't disqualify it. Morally, they care about getting the big questions right, but not his charisma, and he suffered proportionally. It was one of the reasons, though they draw the line at things that are robust and elegant product. One is a combination of shyness and laziness.1 If investors were perfect judges, the two would require exactly the same skills. The average programmer seems to produce UI designs that are almost willfully bad. If the pattern holds true, that should cause dramatic changes.2 There will of course come a point where you can discount your own bad moods.3 Let me put the case in terms a government official would appreciate. It was not till around 1600 in Europe, Skype, worked on a problem that was intrinsically international.4 In effect, you call the same functions on random arguments.5
And yet whatever argument you use to prove that startups don't need to say that they're happier in the sense that the higher you go the fewer instances you find.6 Junior professors are fired by default after a few years he could probably find someone local to make him one. But it's convenient because this is so important to hackers, who often went into technology in part because they felt uncomfortable with the amount of freedom you get by default when organization isn't possible. Like Facebook. There's one item conspicuously missing from this list: American attitudes. The opposite extreme would be a better place if people only wrote books because they had something to say about technology is a dangerous business. She came to the startup world, most good ideas seem bad initially. But I do at least know now why I didn't.7 Its daddy is in a pinch.

After reading a draft of this theory is that the rest of the density of startup: one kind that evolves into Facebook isn't merely a better strategy in an era of such regulations is to tell them exactly what they're selling and how unbelievably annoying it is generally the common stock holders who take the form of religious wars or undergraduate textbooks so determinedly neutral that they're starting petitions to save money, and that most people who are younger or more ambitious the utility function for money. You owe them such updates on your way up into the sciences, you can't tell what the attitude of a problem if you'll never need to do with the exception of the scholar.
The next time you raise as you can say they're not ready to raise their kids rather than lose a prized employee.

VERONA, N,Y. (March 2, 2024) — Raymond “Savage” Ford (15-0-1, 8 KOs) captured the WBA featherweight world title with a dramatic, come-from-behind 12th-round TKO win against Uzbek phenom Otabek Kholmatov (12-1, 11 KOs). Trailing on two of three scorecards, Ford dug deep to secure his first world title in the final round, as Kholmatov was ahead with two scores of 106-103, while one judge had it 105-104 for the native of Camden, New Jersey. Kholmatov started off strong, pressuring and hurting Ford with a left hand in the second round. Ford then began to change the dynamic by pressuring the power puncher, using his high guard to stand in front of Kholmatov to land his offense. By the seventh round, both men were going toe-to-toe in the center of the ring. Kholmatov fought on the outside in the later rounds, but he was hurt by Ford in the final stanza. Ford quickly capitalized and landed a flurry. Referee Charlie Fitch waved off the contest at 2:53 as Kholmatov staggered into the ropes. Ford said, “My coach told me to bring that dog out. We knew we were coming into their territory. This wasn’t under our promotion. But we had to dig deep. The whole time in the corner, I kept telling myself, ‘I’m going to stop him.’ I felt him breaking down as the rounds went on. “I started off a little slow. I felt I didn’t really have the energy and the legs to be the sharper boxer I know I can be. That was due to a tough weight cut. So, this may be my last fight at 126. Then, we’ll go up to 130 and call out the champions there. “I knew I had to stop him. The rounds were too close. I just had to bring that dog out that my coaches were talking about. I always knew I had it in me. I come from a rough background. There’s nothing that can stop me. Ever.” Venado Crushes Abe in Round Eight
Luis Alberto “Venado” Lopez (30-2, 17 KOs) successfully defended his IBF featherweight crown with an eighth-round TKO win over Japanese contender Reiya Abe (25-4-1, 10 KOs). Abe struggled with Lopez’s offense as the Mexican warrior launched forward with power shots from odd angles. A left hand from Lopez caused Abe’s right eye to swell. The ringside physician allowed him to continue, as Lopez continued to march forward. In the eighth round, inspired by the cheers from the crowd, Lopez initiated a flurry of quick strikes, which forced referee Mark Nelson to halt the action at :39. Lopez said, "I turned and looked at my family, my baby, my wife and my mom and dad, and that was the key to my motivation. I knew I had to finish the fight. "Abe was a warrior. He was able to continue with his eye shut. He continued fighting with a lot of heart. We know that Japanese fighters have a lot of heart. But I also have a lot of hunger to continue being a world champion, and I had to show that. “Like I have been saying, it would be great for me to unify. But I would also like to have a fight at 130 pounds. If they put me in against the winner of Oscar Valdez and Liam Wilson, that would be stupendous.” Welterweight: Brian Norman Jr. (25-0, 19 KOs) and Janelson Bocachica (17-2-1, 11 KOs) fought to a no decision. Bocachica suffered a cut in the opening round. He landed a chopping counter right hand in the final seconds that dropped Norman, who himself was cut above his right eye in the second stanza. By round three, Bocachica’s cut prompted the referee to stop the fight at the end of the round.
Junior Welterweight: Hometown hero Bryce Mills (15-1, 5 KOs) defeated Gerffred Ngayot (6-2, 5 KOs) via six-round unanimous decision. An aggressive Mills fought at a high pace, which Ngayot had trouble keeping up with. Mills slowed down in the final two rounds, but landed more on a defensively-minded Ngayot. Scores: 58-57 and 60-54 2x. Middleweight: U.S. Olympian Troy Isley (12-0, 5 KOs) made a statement in his second fight with new trainer Brian 'BoMac' McIntyre. Isley delivered a seventh-round TKO over Marcos Hernandez (16-7-2, 3 KOs). Isley battled rhythmically throughout the fight, easily mixing in offense and defense, before landing a right hand that dropped Hernandez and forced referee Mark Nelson to stop the fight at 1:30. Bantamweight: Floyd Diaz (11-0, 3 KOs) tallied a unanimous points win against Puerto Rican veteran Edwin Rodriguez (12-8-2, 5 KOs). Diaz landed his counter right uppercut frequently on a game Rodriguez, whose spirited effort was subdued by Diaz's sharper counters. Scores: 78-74, 79-73 and 80-72. Junior Welterweight: Dominican Olympian Rohan Polanco (12-0, 7 KOs) handed Tarik Zaina (13-1-1, 8 KOs) his first loss tonight, battering him from post to post en route to an eight-round unanimous decision. Zaina was crafty on the outside, but Polanco overwhelmed him with constant pressure and counterpunching, dropping him and nearly finishing the job in the final round. Scores: 78-72 and 79-71 2x. Middleweight: Nico Ali Walsh (10-1, 5 KOs) defeated Charles Stanford (7-6, 4 KOs) via six-round unanimous decision. Scores: 59-55 and 60-54 2x. It marked the second straight win for the grandson of "The Greatest," who suffered his lone defeat last August.
Heavyweight: Brandon Moore (14-0, 8 KOs) remained unbeaten with a hard-earned unanimous points verdict against Helaman Olguin (9-7-1, 4 KOs). Scores: 80-72 3x.

Hsien-Ko junior has found some chocolate she uh, accidentally stolen and eaten. Well whoops.
" Yummy! "
"Why am I not surprised its some busty but cute Jiganshi eating off my chocolate. But then again judging by my vault being chopped up. I would at least take comfort in knowing you only brute force your way into it." She can only imagine Weiss' face when he realizes all that special reserve chocolate she had stored up is gone.
Tanya would be impressed if she weren't on her coffee break and noticing that chest hole in her uniform. A stark contrast to the huge blades she is obviously armed with.

Her father gave her everything she desired. She grew up narcissistic entitled/ lacking any social skills with a giant chip on her shoulder due to her inability to understand appropriate behaviors!
She immediately failed Royal etiquette with her lack of manners/of social skills/too self conscious. NOT interested in learning how to handle social situations.
See: 2016 Chopped Junior TV program as a judge. Meg eating too much at a time. Trying to say she was a Farm to Table foodie. Not true with her earlier family background.
Reblog
There has been a lot of reports over the years of royals having tantrums when things don't go well. I'm not sure if tantrum is the right word for it but many have been accused of being rude, snappy and abrasive with staff.
Do you think going forward there is a way for the family to get rid of this type of behaviour? They're royal so they're raised with a certain entitlement, yet it is that entitlement that seems to get a lot of them in trouble or disliked.
Also before anyone states their staff often spend so much time with them it wouldn't be possible for them to be perfect for such long periods of time I would remind people that the staff has to be perfect for that amount of time or they would get fired so it is possible.
I think a lot of times when I've felt annoyed at something a royal has done it's because they never seem to face consequences for their behaviour, when others would face pretty harsh consequences for doing the same thing. However how do you create accountability for people who sit at the top with nobody to answer to for being rude or disrespectful? It has to be extremely serious before the government will step in to deal with it.
Well, I know I'm going to get some flak for this but the way to fix entitlement is to have a reality check...and nothing has checked royal privilege more than the middle class values that the modern married-ins have brought with them.
AKA people who didn't grow up with household staffs, luxury homes, fortunes of inherited wealth, who traveled all over the world for every vacation. People with parents who worked 9am-5pm jobs, who went to good schools, who planned for careers (even if the jobs were cushy).
It's not just Kate - it's also Tim, Sophie Edinburgh, Autumn, Sophie Winkleman, Mike, etc.
And the remarkable thing about them having the "humbler" backgrounds they came from is that we see them raising their children - future generations of royals - with similar middle class values. For example, yes, William and Kate have help but they're not surrounded 24/7 by staff so there's reason to believe that George, Charlotte, and Louis are picking up after themselves in ways that perhaps William and Harry never did, so there's a chance they may not be as entitled or privileged the way we hear about Andrew or Edward.
So that's where the accountability comes from; someone who actually understands how enormously privileged the royals are and who can call them out and help them be better so their children are more well-adjusted for a future of intense scrutiny.
Which is kind of the flaw in Meghan. She was in an excellent position to serve as an extraordinary check on the entire institution but rather than becoming a counterbalance (as Kate, Tim, Sophie, etc. seem to do), she cannon-balled straight into all of the privilege herself. The result is the hypocrisy we see: she wants the privilege exclusively for herself while simultaneously trying to check everyone else. We see that in the Tom Quinn excerpt, and also in Spare.

You've been Chopped
Chopped with a sweet component not in the dessert round:
Judge: "it's too sweet, you didn't incorporate the "sweet component" well enough
Judge to next contestant: "you buried the "sweet component", I can't taste it at all. It's a basket ingredient, you need to showcase it."

RSA Student Ideas (you can take just let me see)
so my rsa ideas are:
a madam mim character (student or teacher) that's a shapeshifter with wild lilac hair and crazy eyes - probably a freshie/sophomore and is endless trouble [could be friends with our resident rsa cat boy]
a prince eric boy from the Sunshine Lands, I think he might be a descendant of the mermaid princess. Black hair, green eyes. Probably in a sports club that involves water. Can talk to sea creatures really well. Probably an ACTUAL prince. Incredibly charming to sea creatures except cephlopods.
a prince phillip boy (our silver foil, because Silver = Aurora tyvm); brow hair, brown eyes, very alert, driven, decisive, and little critters steal his stuff ALL the time, so he ends up spending his free time parkouring to get his stuff back (they love his shoes, hat, and coat the most). Probably also an actual prince. Bonus: Actually Silver's older brother. Silver got sold to Lilia in exchange for his life as a baby. Either not-identical twins or he's a year older. Was born sickly, cured with fae magic.
a prince adam/beast-based character that's THEIR Gym teacher that's all about both the strength of the mind and body together to be the ULTIMATE SORCERER. "You need both brains and brawn for magic." Married. Wife runs a book store in the village! <3
an aladdin boy, dark hair, dark eyes, sneaky, smaller side--always has food on him without exception. Good at subjects that basically help him survive, from a poorer background but very talented in magic. Diamond in the rogue. Charming smile ;0
CINDERELLA boy BUT HE'S PROFESSOR TREIN'S STEPSON FROM HIS SECOND MARRIAGE and his mom's DEAD. HATES HIS STEP-DAD. Blames him for her untimely death (either sickness or a car crash). Very personable, perfect upper-classman. Junior. Cleanly and neat as can be. Good friends with Neige.
an arthur either teacher or maybe even janitor, sandy blond w/ dark eyes--skinny, rail-thin. If a teacher, probably history--if a janitor, literally the advice-giver of the school with fantastical stories of his time as Headmaster Ambrose's student.
So while Neige is Snow White based, obviously, but I wish we knew more about Neige, so clearly in my HC the Cinderlla-boy who I might just call Cinder??? I like Cinder--they're both sophomores. Same class. 10/10.
An alice boy, blond hair, blue-eyed, wears a headband or bandanna that's black. Usually daydreaming the day away. Not great grades, but hobbies include: reading, exploring, and getting lost. Loves gardening as a hobby and is excellent at tea parties.
A Tiana boy from the Port o' Bliss who's family runs a famous restaurant chain. He's EXTREMELY talented in cooking, singing, and has a can-do, work-hard attitude. He's not really worried about his romantic future but he very much motivated for his future. He loves his family very much, and misses his now-dead dad but aspires to the most famous chef in the Port like him. A good meal solves most problems, and if that didn't solve it then you have to figure something else out.
A Charlotte boy from the Port o' Bliss that is the Tiana boy's BEST FRIEND EVER. They're childhood friends and they're always hanging out. Charlotte-boy here isn't the best at cooking, but he loves helping his bestie in any way he can. Very good at chopping vegetables. Amazing taste-buds, can critique food well. He's pretty smart, but his dream is to inherit the family business, find the prettiest bride, and have a BUNCH O' BABIES. MAN BUN!
Judge Frollo is probably a member of the Board of Education in this world and the WORST.
An Icabod Crane teacher that's super scatter brained but has such a large knowledge of plants, animals, and potions that once you get him focused. Scares easy.

Chapter Ten Summary
Diced Junior
The big day had finally arrived for Dulce to compete on Diced Junior. This was the cooking competition for young chefs, where four contestants battled through three rounds: appetizer, entrée, and dessert.
She had to go up against three other talented kids. There was Rubiya Jabal, a fellow peer from Tartosa Middle School. She was a humble, yet incredibly smart and competitive girl who excelled at spelling bees. Then there was Lewis Mack, a Scottish farm boy who loved to use fresh ingredients and collect trading cards. Lastly, there was Alex Marino, a quiet skater kid who wrote for the school newspaper.
The panel of judges was impressive, featuring Mia D’Angelo-Ramirez, a Michelin-starred chef, restaurateur, and main judge; Carlo Mancini, a stern executive chef and food entrepreneur; and Sofia Bjergsen, a Grammy-winning pop star with a background in culinary arts.
As the competition began, the first mystery basket was revealed. It had merguez sausage, veggie flatbread, pea shoots, and shakshuka sauce. Dulce decided to make pizza wedges, Rubiya strove for spaghetti, Lewis tried a pea shoot salad, and Alex went for a raclette.
When time was up, the dishes were judged. Lewis’s vinaigrette was praised, but the burnt croutons were a major flaw. Dulce’s pizza wedges were flavorful, though some judges felt they were too heavy for an appetizer. Rubiya’s spaghetti impressed everyone, but the meatballs were slightly dry. Alex’s raclette, while enjoyable, lacked creativity.
The atmosphere was tense, and the contestants were sent to another room while the judges made their final choice. The four kids acknowledged the bond they had already formed and exchanged contact information. Then, they were called back to the judges’ table.
A bigger issue than burnt croutons had surfaced. Turns out, Lewis had failed to fully follow the rules by not using the vegetables from the flatbread. Since his croutons were so burnt, the mistake had gone unnoticed until a producer pointed it out. The judges encouraged him to audition for Diced in the future. Lewis accepted his elimination and said his goodbyes.
The entrée round began. The three chefs were given baskets containing jicama, hatch green chiles, goat chops, and chana masala. Rubiya decided on chana masala goat tacos with a green chile salsa and a jicama dip. Dulce aimed for a tomato soup with goat, chana masala, hatch green chiles, and a mix of vegetables. Alex chose to make an egusi soup using cubed goat meat, hatch green chiles, spiralized jicama, and chana masala.
As they cooked, the judges analyzed their strategies. They noted that both Dulce and Alex had opted for soups, which would lead to direct comparisons. Dulce worried about the flavor balance and decided to add red chiles for more depth. Rubiya struggled slightly with the jicama, while Alex remained intensely focused.
As they worked, confessionals of what they’d do with the prize money were shown. Rubiya wanted it for culinary school. Alex planned to donate it to the ALS Association. Dulce wanted to support her mother’s bakery and talked about “people who… took advantage of certain things, so the bakery suffered for a long time.”
With time running out, the tension escalated. Dulce and Alex accidentally collided, causing an awkward interaction. The final seconds were a whirl of plating and last-minute adjustments. Dulce, unable to taste her dish, could only hope that her soup had come together. Being a baker's daughter, she knew she could nail the dessert round if she made it there.
The young chefs felt discouraged after facing setbacks. Sofia reassured them, reminding them that they had been chosen for their talent and potential. Then, each chef presented their dish. Rubiya’s flavorful tacos were praised, but the judges said that the tortillas had become soggy. Alex’s egusi soup was rich, yet lacked balance. Dulce’s tomato soup wowed the judges with the flavor combinations; however, the dish was too spicy, overpowering the other flavors, and the meat was too tough.
After careful deliberation, the judges made their decision: Dulce was eliminated. Alex and Rubiya struggled to process it. The judges explained that while Dulce had raw talent, she needed to refine her technique and be more mindful. They advised her to continue learning, emphasizing that small details could make a big difference. Dulce was disappointed but took their advice to heart, realizing she got too ahead of herself.
After her elimination, Dulce reunited with her family, who greeted her with love and pride. They reminded her that being selected for the competition was an achievement, and they couldn’t be prouder of her efforts. She began to see this as a valuable learning experience.
Before leaving, Mia approached Dulce. She wanted Dulce to know that the judges' praise wasn’t just for the cameras. They genuinely believed in her potential. She said she’d keep an eye on Dulce’s career and cautioned her to make smart choices moving forward.
Dulce left feeling grateful for the opportunity. She shared photos of her day on social media, including a group picture with the other contestants. Although she didn’t win, she was determined to keep improving and continue chasing her dream.

My 🤠 just misread a the title of a chopped special episode as, “ghost,” instead of, “goat,” and now I am thinking about a ghost cooking show—bonus points for ghost hunger/cursed hc
I was trying to think of what foods are made with goat and my first thought was goat cheese. So now it's "Ghost Cheese" which just. I don't want to think about...you know. You need milk for cheese. And I am steering FAR FAR away from the implications.
I wonder who would host a Ghost Cooking Show. Like, my first thought was Lunch Lady but she seems less a host and more a contestant/Judge.
Also, I don't know a ton about ghost hunger au, but everytime I hear it I think of that one post about how to cut up Mr. Mime. About the different pieces that are safe to eat. I bet you could eat Skulker like an oyster.
Anyway, Danny gets stuck on the equivalent of Master Chef Junior because the boy tries so hard, and just needs someone to tell him he is doing a good job. And also how to properly sautee an ectopus, I guess.
