Headcanon: when the older Clarke kids were young, the Lambert house wasn't a historical preservation, it was just that really old dilapidated house nearby that the kids used to play in (because irresponsible midcentury parents gonna be irresponsible midcentury parents. James probably gave the walls a few kicks and declared it safe). They used to catch fireflies in the yard.
