Description: A safe place for me to openly gush about my favorite classic rock bands and pieces of fantasy fiction that I love, and hopefully be a safe place for others who share my interests as well.

Content: Fanfiction blog. My masterlist is pinned. My favourite band changes every couple of years. I started out focusing on Iron Maiden (especially Dave and Janick ❤), but then watched "The Song Remains the Same" 9 months ago, and Led Zeppelin took over my heart, mind, and life practically overnight. I write Robert Plant fanfic for the most part in that fandom because he is just an absolutely gorgeous human being inside and out. I am also a massive Legend of Zelda nerd and will endlessly ramble on about how much those games mean to me, even if I don't currently have the console to play certain games. I also write fanfic about them.

I'm 23 and am from Texas. Aside from writing, I also play bass, acoustic guitar, and sing (I do covers on my YouTube channel.) Most recently, I've taken up crochet again and find it to be a very relaxing hobby even if my patterns are simple.

URL meaning: I came up with this name a few years back because it sounded pretty. I am fascinated by space and celestial bodies, and as well as dragons because of the high fantasy geek that I am, so I just combined those two to sound feminine. I have tried changing it something more fandom-related, but that changes too frequently and everyone has come to know me by this in all fanfic spaces so I'm just embracing it at this point.

Thoughts from my Classic Who watch, season 17.

Thank god for Douglas Adams. Doctor 4 and Romana 2 were my favourite Tardis team when I watched the series for the first time as a youngun because of the way they were on the same wavelength, joking their way through the universe. From what I understand Douglas Adams as script editor was a large part of creating that characterisation, especially in Destiny of the Daleks which is filled with that sort of attitude and which Adams apparently did large rewrites for. Without the humour I really wouldn't care much for the story, but with it there's a lot of moments to enjoy. I say "Oh look! Rocks!" a lot.

City of Death was the story my brother and I watched the most as kids because we kept borrowing the DVD from our town's library. I hadn't watched it in years and years, and for this watchthrough I saw it with friends! Which was a lot of fun. I forgot just how much of it was shots of the cast running around Paris, they really wanted to show off their location filming. And hey, it was pretty location filming, so I can't blame them. I also love Scaroth's design, he's great. The Count and Countess Scarlioni are just fantastically enjoyable villains in general, between Pirate Planet and this Adams must be the best villain writer in Doctor Who. Oh and I always laugh at "Duggan!! ...I think that was possibly the most important punch in history."

The first episode of The Creature From The Pit is definitely one of the most episodes of all time. The Doctor gets attacked by tumbleweeds. K9 suddenly has a wildly different and upsetting voice. Romana avoids getting killed by just acting like she can order people around and it works. The Doctor knocks out some guards with a sneeze. It's called The Creature From The Pit. The rest of the story has it's ups and downs. All the astrology talk was fun. The way Romana was sometimes written as a generic companion who panics and needs the Doctor for everything was not (some writers just really didn't get her). K9 gets used as a bazooka sometimes which is hilarious. The way Erato's translator used people's larynx to communicate was cool as heck. And it's interesting how the final episode wraps up the villain of the story 5 minutes in, and introduces a different problem for the climax.

Nightmare of Eden had some cool ideas in it, but I'm not sure how well it communicated them. I don't know if I just wasn't paying enough attention, but I couldn't get a grasp of what and who was on which of the two ships. I guessed that the professor man was the villain of the story, but I didn't predict the other starship pilot was as well. It kind of made sense though. I think. Maybe I should rewatch this one 😂 not soon though, I wasn't That invested in it. The Doctor vanishing because he was pulled onto the wrong ship in the separation was good use of cliffhanger in the plot. But the way he got back to the right ship was hiding right behind one of the bad guys in a tiny tiny shuttle, which was hilarious. Video game guard levels of peripheral vision.

The Horns of Nimon is great actually. The hilariously bad/over the top acting is so much fun to watch. Soldeed steals the show obviously; his death scene is iconic but he acts that way in Every Single One of his scenes, it's magnificent. Romana is finally written like she's at the same level of competency as the Doctor again, even her own sonic screwdriver, and I think her outfit in this one might be my favourite Romana outfit (which says a LOT when you're talking about Romana's outfits). It's a shame Shada didn't get made because more Douglas Adams is never a bad thing, but this was still a nice note to leave the season on. (By the way, I didn't end up watching Shada as part of this watchthrough. Any of them.)

Hello everyone! This blog will primarily be devoted to reblogging stuff I like, posting my random thoughts and shitposts, and occasionally actual content related to some of my interests. I moved over here from a different website that shut down its social functions, so I'll mostly use tumblr to fill the space I used to use that site for (screaming into the void). Some of my previous interests that have been dulled by my depression and antidepressants but I would like to get back into include:

music, I'll listen to pretty much anything and like at least one song from pretty much every genre but my favorites include classic rock and alt rock

writing, I used to write religiously and my dream is to be a published novelist. I write a lot of different genres from poetry to fantasy, mystery to teen fiction, but I've never actually finished any of my writing over 10 pages. I was raised on Harry Potter (I do not stand with jkr, I actively stand against her) and still occasionally write queer HP fanfics (the Deamus and Wolfstar ships have my heart and soul, I have entire AUs dedicated to them in my head)

reading, until covid hit I would devour ebooks whenever I had a free moment but since then I've consumed less than 10 books total, most of which were audiobooks on long road trips

The dates on fan-produced music from that era are kinda hard to come by, seeing as how the only way to spread your stuff was via Bulletin Board Systems, shareware disks, or CD compilations on magazines. So This Week… Not ALL of those covers are this good, but this is a pretty good modernized perk-me-up tune just ready for you to wake up in the morning for. It’s better than their cover of “Rosanna” by Toto, so keep that in mind.

We know you better than that. 

Virgo

Honestly without the video as reference framework it’s just a dated piece of pop-culture nostalgia. So This Week… it’s OK to let some parts of your past go. Just so we’re clear here, this is the song title and nothing more, ok? “I Wanna Be Loved By You” sung by Helen Kane. You might not recognize the song by title or the performer, but what if we told you it was Betty Boop’s signature song? Now you remember it, right? Amazing how that works, right? Bet there are long-passed family members that had songs they used to sing for you when you were a kid. So This Week… Try to remember what those songs were and enjoy some wonderful memories from when Yoo-Hoo was a food group for you.

Looks like that whole “Watch A Movie” idea finally caught up with us. You’re getting the Techno song “Rinzler” by Daft Punk from TRON Legacy. We’re not likely to get a finale to the TRON movie franchise, a second season of the TRON cartoon won’t happen, so you need the trifecta of series disappointment. The part that some never realize is that the announcer at the very beginning is ALSO Rob. So there’s, literally, nobody but him in that song. And that typifies your normal personality. (*Small Pause*) That isn’t a compliment. So This Week… You don’t have to handle everything in your life. It’s OK to ask for help. Just try to do it before you get overwhelmed, Hmm?

Pisces  

You’re not exactly a fan of Old School Rap, but here we are. Your song is “Peter Piper” by Run-D.M.C. and the opening is killer! They’re trading off words with perfect timing to recite parts of nursery rhyme parts before they finally do actual “proper” rap performing. They were SO GOOD at what they did back in the day. Brief Background: Growing up with his twin brother Tucker and his younger sister Heather, Chase has a very strong sense of familial loyalty and is fiercely protective over both his siblings. He was named after his maternal uncle.

The three had a relatively quiet childhood, save for a few schoolhouse scuffles Chase was involved with, usually because he was keeping Tucker out of trouble or looking after Heather.

Chase was studious in school, got good grades, played on the varsity football team, and was in the ROTC program in high school. Both Chase and Tucker had aspirations of joining the military and did so, with both of them enrolling in the army. During his military contract, Chase was deployed to Iraq, along with his brother. After Tucker’s death, Chase was given the opportunity to come home, which he, at first, declined until his sister begged him to come home, and he relented.

After Tucker’s funeral, Chase ended up moving to Florida, wanting to just get away from all the memories, and due to a dream Tucker mentioned to Chase during their deployment, about opening up a video game bar and going to Disney World with the two of them and Heather. He became much more solemn after Tucker’s death, retreated into himself--until one night, Heather called him up, crying.

He immediately drove up, got her away from her husband, and took her back down to Gibsonton, where they now share an apartment, including Heather’s puppy Oreo. Chase currently works as a bouncer for a popular nightclub in downtown Tampa.

Personality: Sarcastic, a bit reserved when around strangers or in a professional setting, but he loosens up around family and close friends. He is very loyal, protective, likes to plan, has strong paternal instincts.

After both Chase and Tucker finished their contracts with the army, they were offered to become S.H.I.E.LD. agents, moving up to New York for the opportunity, taking their younger sister with them. Originally approved as a field agent, he was assigned as a case officer, given his knack for planning and attention to detail. -He is aware of Heather's stalker ex-boyfriend, keeps tabs on him to make sure he is far away from her.

PACIFIC RIM VERSE

Chase and Tucker enrolled in the jaeger program after being in the U.S. army. They were co-pilots until one brutal attack left Tucker critically injured. They both survived, but Tucker had to retire from being a pilot. Since then, Chase has stayed on at the Shatterdome as an instructor alongside his twin and their younger sister working as a medic. -He had a serious girlfriend named Ariel, however, when Tucker and Chase were accepted into the Jaeger program, Ariel did not want to move to Hong Kong, and the two broke up.
