A good spread for when Calamaties hit! This spread is intended to be a good pep talk while giving you a nudge in the right direction. Use it to get messages from the Goddesses or with any spirit!

Jar of Malice

Preferably created on a Tuesday or Saturday, but a Mars or Saturn symbol on the jar will work just fine.

Ingredients:

Glue

Red and black paint

Thorns/Rusty nails/broken glass

Rotted/dead plants

Dead bugs

Hot sauce

Chili powder

A taglock of your target (name, hair, etc.)

(Optional) Clear quartz; does NOT go in the jar IF you plan on giving the target a chance to redeem themselves.

The clear quartz requires a bit of prep. Over the course of a few day charge it with all the anger you have for your target. Take it with you to work/school and every inconvenient thought, every annoyance, charge that quartz.

It acts as a piece of Ganondorf’s secret stone. To get the leaking hatred that is actual malice in the matter of a few days is impossible, but with the secret stone, it will at least be amplified enough to make your target feel it.

As you toss these ingredients together, feel free to monologue. Let them know that, try as they might, escape is futile and the malice will slowly drag them to the depths. If you plan on forgiving later, give them an ultimatum. Shake the jar violently afterwards.

Make sure to shake it every once and awhile, especially when you’re in a bad mood.

To make sure the glue doesn’t dry, sit the jar in hot (not boiling) water.

Here's a Calendar for TLoZ I Made Up

I'm not sure if I'll actually start showing dates in my "The Realm Walker" fanfic, but for internally keeping track of things, I figured it would help to make a calendar... So here you go!

To keep things simple, there's 30 days in each month, and 12 months in the year, so 360 days in a year. Each month ends in "gari" or "lini" which comes from what Google Translate tells me are the pronunciations of Greek words for moon (Fengari and Selini), while each day ends in "mera" (which again comes from what Google Translate tells me is the pronunciation for the Greek word for day (Imera).)

So here are the months:

Nagari (Nayru’s Moon)

Daltlini (Daltus’ Moon)

Dingari (Din’s Moon)

Falini (Farore’s Moon)

Malagari (Malanya’s Moon)

Hylini (Hylia’s Moon)

Gustgari (Gustaf’s Moon)

Daphlini (Daphnes’ Moon)

Valgari (Valoo’s Moon)

Jalini (Lord Jabu-Jabu’s Moon)

Undegari (Eleventh Moon)

Like the real world, it's a mix of rulers, deities, and numbers. Daltus being the king during The Minish Cap, Gustaf being an ancient king mentioned in The Minish Cap, and Daphnes being the king from Wind Waker. You can bet that the Rito and Zora had something to do with Valoo and Lord Jabu-Jabu getting months named in their honor. The last two months come from the Latin words for 11th and 12th.

Now for the days:

Since this is the Hyrulean Standard Calendar you can expect that some of the other peoples have different month/day names. In particular, I'm thinking the Gerudo day names would honor the Seven Heroines mentioned in BotW. Rito might switch out Dekumera for Valmera, likewise the Zora might switch out Dekumera for Jabumera...

And some seasonal information...

Spring: Dingari 1st – Malagari 30th | Spring Equinox: Dingari 19, 20, or 21st

Summer: Hylini 1st – Daphlini 30th | Summer Solstice: Hylini 20th

Autumn: Valgari 1st – Undegari 30th | Autumn Equinox: Valgari 20th

Winter: Duodeclini 1st – Daltlini 30th | Winter Solstice: Duodeclini 20 or 21st

Note that these dates are for the Northern Hemisphere. Considering the tropical state of Faron in BotW, it is either near or on the equator, which would make part of Hyrule be in the Southern Hemisphere.

Bonus: Since BotW released on March 3, 2017 (a Friday), the very first scene of "The Ballad of Kass" takes place Farmera, Dingari 3, 100 PC. (PC standing for Post-Calamity) Though I may do a nod to the Elder Scrolls series and use Eras instead (So, Dingari 3, 100 EotW (Era of the Wilds))...

Note: these are my personal correspondences based on my experiences and the games in the series I draw from. Some of these will almost definitely be different for you depending on your practice and the games you draw from!

Also yes I know Hylia isn't one of the golden goddesses but I didn't think the title through and now I'm four parts into this lol

Since I am having a lot of self-confidence problems, I am wondering about knotting a bracelet and enchant it to help. I am thinking about having it relate to the Zelda universe, and my first thought was maybe to have it relate to Revali ? because he has a lot of self confidence. but ? I am not sure about it ? I feel like maybe he might not be the best, since he does go into the "cocky" territory and I don't think that should be my objective. Any opinion, idea on who I could call upon for help on this / create a bracelet after, stuff like that ?

Cadence of Hyrule (2019)

Well, this is very different and pretty damn cool. Nintendo just announced that the people behind the excellent musical dungeon-crawling game Crypt of the NecroDancer are making a Zelda game called Cadence of Hyrule. It’s out this spring.

The game appears to bring Cadence, the protagonist from Brace Yourself Games’ hit indie, to Link’s world. A trailer shows Link and Zelda fighting enemies throughout a game world that seems inspired by the Super Nintendo game The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

It looks rad.

A press release provided more details:

"As Link or Princess Zelda, players explore randomly generated overworld and dungeons on a quest to save Hyrule, and every beat of the 25 remixed Legend of Zelda tunes is a chance to move, attack, defend and more. From modern-looking Lynels to the Hyrulean Soldiers of old, players must master the instinctive movements of each pixel-art enemy and strategically outstep them in rhythmic combat using an arsenal of iconic items from The Legend of Zelda, as well as the spells and weapons from Crypt of the NecroDancer."

Crypt of the NecroDancer came out for PC in 2015 and was eventually ported to numerous devices, including the Nintendo Switch in 2018. In it, players move a character through a dungeon, one grid square at a time, as enemies also move each turn based on their own rules. The magic of the game is its music, as playing effectively requires you to make your moves in accordance with the rhythm.

This will be the first of two Zelda games slated for Switch this year, the other being the recently announced remake of Game Boy classic The Legend Of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.

Surprising as it is to see Nintendo offering two Zelda games in one year, it’s an even bigger shock to see Nintendo let an indie studio work with one of its biggest franchises. Sure, we’ve seen Capcom make Zelda games and Sega make an F-Zero entry (that actually happened, right?), but a Vancouver team that made a Steam indie hit getting to make something Zelda-related—that’s something else.

Fun fact: The official name of the game is Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer feat. The Legend of Zelda.

Light of Blessing, Spirit Orb, and Stamina Vessel/Heart Container Ritual

Each of the orbs serve a different purpose, and it's best not to try and do all of these rituals at once. The orbs can be made of anything (crystal, metal, wood, rubber, cat toy w/e. I used marbles I found in the yard). It's a good idea to cleanse your item before you do the ritual. Doing this ritual will program this item to act as the blessing, orb, or vessel, so make sure you don't use it for unrelated rituals.

Light of Blessings are to purify and cleanse yourself of negative, unusable, and unwanted energy. Good to do as part of a routine.

Spirit Orbs are tokens of Hylia's grace used to imbue you with courage. Good to do after a huge defeat or before a challenging task. This is a transaction of power, so be prepared with an offering.

Stamina Vessels and Heart Containers are to restore your energy, especially if there is a specific issue draining you. Good for when you've lost motivation. Also a transaction of power but the source is more universal than straight from the Goddess. You will get what you put in! Good to do as part of a routine as well.

You will need:

Orb/Object you can hold in your hands

Shrine/Designated area for orb (bowl, pedestal, stand, bag)

Offering (candle, incense, food, etc)

Prep:

This is going to be a mainly meditation-based ritual so make sure you have a non-distracting area to do this. For a more ceremonial feel, wear white loose-fitting clothing. for the MOST ceremonial feel, wear a head covering.

Ritual:

Light your candles and incense if that is your offering. Set out any food or objects for offering in front of you. Sit or stand in a comfortable position. Close your eyes and take deep breaths, keeping your body loose but not limp.

Once you feel you have found a steady breathing rhythm, take your orb and fold your hands around it, close to your chest and pray.

[FOR LIGHT BLESSING

Light of Blessing, holy relic that imprisons and purifies ancient evil, may you shine upon me so I may be cleansed.

Take your orb and rub it in circles around your chest, imagining the negative energy being released from your body and absorbed into the orb. Feel free to cry, sing, stomp, jump, etc, whatever your body does to release energy.

Once you are ready, hold the orb in both of your hands. Take a deep breath and SLOWLY pull your hands away from your chest, still holding the orb. Imagine the negative energy being pulled away from your body. When your arms are fully outstretched, open your hands and offer the orb to its designated spot.

End the ritual by saying 'May you grant the strength I seek'.

LEAVE the orb until the next day/night change, so if you do this in the morning, wait for the sun to go down, if you do this at night, wait for the sun to come up, or however long you feel it takes for the orb to purify your energy. After that, you are now free to meditate with the orb, carrying it around, etc etc, but don't forget to repeat the process when it starts to feel heavy or your energy is wack.]

[FOR SPIRIT ORB

Goddess Hylia, I bring these offerings so you may grant me the courage to face the adversities ahead.

Meditate with the orb, tell her of the challenge you are going to face and what your best case scenario would be. Courage comes in many forms, it may be the courage to stand up for yourself, the courage to fail and learn, or the courage to walk away.

Once you are ready, open your palms to cradle the orb. Take a deep breath and slowly raise it up as high as you are comfortable holding. Imagine Her light pouring into the orb.

Once you are ready, slowly lower your hands back down, placing the orb against your chest.

End the ritual by saying 'May you smile upon me in my time of need'

You are now free to take this orb with you, meditate etc. Dispose of your offerings properly (burning,burying, eating, garbage can, etc)]

[FOR STAMINA VESSEL/HEART CONTAINER

Goddess Hylia, please bless me with the vitality to endure so that I may continue my quest for peace and balance.

Take your orb and rub it in between your hands, meditating on drawing in energy to you. If it helps, imagine hearts being added to your health meter and more rings added to your stamina wheel. Rub the orb as fast or as slow as you feel necessary.

Once you are ready/hands are tired, hold the orb still against your chest. Take a few deep breaths.

End the ritual by saying 'I shall go forth and bring peace to the land'.

You are now free to take this orb with you, leave it on an altar, etc. ]

Papercrafts!

One of the blessings of pop culture magic is the merch doubles as devotional pieces! However, as we all know, figures do not come cheap! And what if you want to add your own sigils, colours, markings, etc but don't want to ruin a 300 dollar figure? Most of these are Zelda/Nintendo based but there are also some Kingdom Hearts, Star Wars, Star Trek, and other patterns as well!

The official Nintendo crafts sections has some very beginner friendly stuff!

Really good for dioramas, lots of buildings and vehicles!!!

Updated Hylian Sigils sheet!

The font for the hylian script is like super fancy, so I tried to mimic more of what it would look like written with a pen instead of scribed by a sheikah monk. So essentially hylian comic sans font lol

Hello there, how do you get into the trance state? As I want to go into a trance to connect with spirit.

Also, how is your relationship with Hylia like to you?

Hello! I learned everything about how to do trances from Doors to Past Lives & Future Lives: Practical Applications of Self-Hypnosis by Joe H. Slate. I read this book once and was able to put myself and multiple others under trances. I'll cut to the chase and share the method I started out with which is a very typical hypnosis procedure of moving your eyes and counting backwards called EM/RC (Eye Movement/Reverse Counting). It is also very similar to the sleepover game Doors to the Mind.

I used this method when I was trying to get my most in-depth results but I don't find it necessary for every trance. The above book is specifically about doing a trance where you go to a corridor and each door is a past life, but I think that's a little much for connecting with spirits. It's a good method for practicing letting your mind wander. The feeling you are looking for is similar to daydreaming. Any time you've spaced out is technically a hypnosis/trance! If you are having trouble I suggest trying out some guided trances/meditations on youtube to practice going under. I'm also not going to legally suggest using the aid of alcohol or drugs like marijuana, but I use them in moderation and it helps. just be conscious enough that you can still focus on the spirit and don't just fall asleep or get sick.

My method nowadays is pretty typical of most meditations. I lay down or sit usually with my head tilted back or forward, listen to music and focus on my intention (usually I want to talk to xyz). Highly suggest Weightless by Marconi Union, Inside the Deku Tree, or Awen by Mind Orchestra ). I recommend making a 'safe place', basically where you want to meet these spirits. Most of the time people choose forests or the book talks about oceans, any sort of calming scenery. It's best to keep an open mind because most times you aren't going to see what you expect! Many spirits will talk in the forms of animals, other people, fire, water, or have no form at all. When I first started I was doing hour long meditations talking to spirits and now my visits are about 20-35 minutes long now. It's better to do many short trances than long ones.

I like to think my relationship with Hylia started when I was a kid, but I didn't OFFICIALLY meet her/commit spiritually to her until March of this year (2022). I have always felt a very intense spiritual connection to the Zelda series and it was a big part of my childhood. I had a lot of dreams about being in the world, specifically, I had a very jarring dream as a kid of the Shadow Link encounter in Ocarina of Time. Later in my 20s I had another dream about Twilight Princess Kakariko Village that I wrote a poem about it for class. Even as a kid I believed that the songs had power and would sing the Song of Healing and Song of Time in spells (I've been doing magic since I was in middle school). I did a trance to ask my main spirit guide to help me figure out what the connection between me and the Zelda series was. My guide then took me to a giant golden owl and when I asked her who she was she said 'Hylia' so suffice to say I was shocked!! She looked like this (except she did NOT have a purple triangle on her forehead)

She sounded like Fi from Skyward Sword, Like there was three people speaking at once and once of them was a robot. She grabbed my shoulders with her claws and we flew into a TV screen to Hyrule Field from Ocarina. The entire time I was absolutely TRANSFIXED by her piercing glowing eyes. She said that she was very close to my main spirit guide and I just haven't really questioned it since.

I treat her as I do any of the other deities I work with and she fits in well with the spirits in my house. A lot of my wedding ceremony was also based on Zelda stuff (the Couples mask, my ring is the Zora Sapphire) I have an altar for her, I also have a master sword tattoo that I see as our 'bond'. To me, she is a light spirit. The closest I can think of in similarity is Apollo (light, music, prophecy are all things associated with both).I charge her tarot deck with sunlight and feel her presence most when outside in nature. She uses bird imagery a lot in her signs. She also doesn't mind using technology to communicate and loves music. She seems to be a bringer of hope and creativity! She talks to me most when I'm trying to fall asleep and likes jokes. I have not yet FULLY sworn myself to her but she has told me the means by which to do so, which I will be sharing once I am ready!
