Its so funny to me that the Azul was the one being bullied bc of his apparance while the tweel's merforms are very cool and even good looking. In real life, eels are literally one fat noodle with a strange dorsal fin. I love eels from the bottom of my heart but they are very not ikemen fish

I love how for years, since the 2nd Edition of "Fire & Blood", GRRM has been leaning toward the Blacks - especially when he started doing development deals and getting that corporate money. Abandoning all the years he put into Criston and Daeron's development as characters and basically making Canon in the books that the Greens are considered the good guys of the Dance - believed even among Rhaenyra and Daemon's own descendants.
But now that HOTD has fucked the symmetry and skewed way to one side, now GRRM is has swung back around.
GRRM literally said ...
FUCK YO'SELF-INSTERT!
FUCK RHAENYRA!
AEGON II TARGARYEN, KING OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS!
JUSTICE FOR HELAENA! THE QUEEN OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS! THE ONLY QUEEN MOTHER'FUCKERS!
His such a petty old contrarian. I usually can't stand that dude and his ignorant political takes and shitty taste in American Football teams, but I've been loving his "Let's Burn this Motha'fucka down!" energy on HOTD.
What a sight it is indeed! I'm enjoying this, much as I'm hurting at this butchering of great story.
HOTD is now officially confirmed to be Rhaenyra revisionism and there's worse to come that I just don't want to even imagine.
Clever of that old man to come out, essentially denounce the show and then dip, doing much deserved damage to Ryan and Sara's stupid sand castle of a show.
I'll only be watching this show to support the actors and make fun of the writers' dry and uncreative writing. They really thought they were 'better' than GRRM, and that tells us all we need to know about how crazy and egotistic they are!!!

stupid orthography ideas: use <ë> and <ä> for /ə/ and /ɐ/ respectively, where the double dot is essentially saying, "this vowel but the neutral tone one"
( and yes I know [ə] & [e] and [a] and [ɐ] are different heights. realistically it's probably more like /ə ~ ɘ/ for <ë> at the very least while /ɐ/ is just any open central-ish vowel. shh. its fine. I built this three-way a-ɐ-ɑ distinction and I'm NOT changing it even if it'll make the orthography easier. fuck you, me )

The fact that nobody literally cares for b&c not even Helaena (all she did was offering her necklace lmao) it's seems it's only Aegon who cared the fact he is going to be the only good parent is so wild😭 codal&co what have you done😭
seems like in order for me to have good & compelling writing and an actual canon-compliant character arc for aegon all that had to happen was to completely sacrifice and assassinate all of the other greens.............

Fae Courts of the New World
Why is it that whenever fae courts show up in urban fantasy stories, they always seem to take directly from the classic European depictions. Where are the fae courts that have adapted to the Americas, and not even like in a modern sense. Here’s a few possibilities:
Court of Dogwoods and Liberty: One of the original fae courts formed in the new world, the Court of Dogwoods and Liberty (CODAL for short) consists of fae who dress in colonial style and follow the guidelines of their founders: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all (and they do mean “all”, none of that “special snowflake” crap).
Court of Pinstripes and Absinthe: A fae court enamored with the Roaring 20’s, COPAA consists of fae who party in style and class: nice suits, flapper girls, and high quality hooch (just be careful not to drink too much at one of their parties).
Court of Lawns and Suburbs: A surprisingly wide spread fae court, COLAS has several branches across America, bonding with different neighborhoods and act as supernatural HOAs (you do not want to mess with them).
Court of Phasers and UFOs: One of the more futuristic fae courts, COPAU model themselves after sci-fi culture, having a variety of advanced technologies such as scanners, laser guns, and spaceships (which, ironically, lead to them being mistaken for aliens and being the source behind several UFO sightings).

I'm being trans and nonbinary and being pre-op/idk-if-I-want-op
and thinking about Codal, the foster-father of Ériu, the embodiment of Ireland. Codal the Prominent Breasted, who nursed Ériu until she reached her height
thinking about breasts and how they were so important to kingship, as symbolic of the fertility of the land and the ability of a king to provide for his people, that when a king was disgraced and sacrificed his nipples would be mutilated to strip him of that ability
thinking about the way that in a lot of European mythology, the First Being is androgynous and is both mother and father to the world
just, thinking

HotD vs GoT (season 1) ?
I've seen many comparisons between the two and according to some critics (quite a lot of them tbh) HotD is superior or has a potential to be because... reasons. Now, while I do believe that, while comparisons are always odious they sometimes make, but this one is really weird and unjust because a lot of people are still disappointed with how GoT ended (personally, I wasn't happy with how some things played out either, especially in the last two seasons, but I am definitely not that upset four years later and actually remember the show as a whole more or less fondly) and this disappointment together with anti D&D discourse probably clouds the judgement. However, they seem to ignore that GoT had 8 seasons and was mostly well liked and praised until the last two, while HOTD has barely begun and already has many problems writing-wise imho. Will those same people, after HOTD ends (and there is no way that everyone will be satisfied with the ending) retrospectively start to hate everything they are praising right now, I wonder? I do sincerely hope that HotD will improve and that every new season will be better then the previous one, but based strictly on the first seasons (I recently rewatched GoT s1) it's GoT >> HotD.
What do you think?
I didn't like GOT. I didn't watch it properly. I tuned in to see how they did some of the bigger moments like Red Wedding and Purple Wedding, and I watched the last two seasons just for asoiaf closure, and honestly, I liked the GOT ending, more or less.
Not Dany being killed by Jon, or Arya vs Night King, or King Bran, but Dany burning the whole place down. Her arc's sort of going there in the books imo. I'm a simple woman—I'm in this for the dragons and for Drogon burning things. I wanted to see Stoneheart and Young Griff and those storylines, but I will take Drogon burning things.
I truly don't get the pretense that HOTD is better than GOT or that Codal & co are in any way better than D&D. I'm giving them less points actually because they saw how GOT unraveled and they've made zero improvements. D&D at least have an excuse—Martin promised to have the books finished when they started. They signed on to adapt, not finish asoiaf on their own strengths. It's a complicated thing that even the creator is struggling with after a decade. They tried, at least.
Codal and co are already floundering in S1. They've already lost narrative coherence. Even the characters aren't coherent. And yes, you can use a time skip to just wave a "People change" flag at all the inconsistencies but come on.
In their defence tho, "And then all the hyper-intelligent special rare sentient magic dragons killed each other in the stupidest ways ever for no real reason" is not an easy story to tell without an extreme amount of hand-waving.
I don't think F&B should exist. I think Martin should have looked it over a couple of times like "Hot six-year-old? Jumping from one dragon to another? WTF is this? This ain't it. Nope."
Honestly, I think HBO just has a bunch of media people on the payroll hyping them up so they can use the emmys for free advertising. Brian Cox is up for a lead actor Emmy with a grand total of three episodes? It's not TV, just HBO living by HBO rules. If they say it's better then it's better. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Law School Journey Part 4: How to handle easy and worst recitation in class.
Handling Socratic method-style recitations in law school can indeed be a challenging task, and here some valuable advice for law students looking to navigate this often intense and demanding experience. Here's a recap of the key tips for effective participation in Socratic method recitations:
Understand the Question: Before providing an answer, make sure you fully understand what is being asked. Avoid overanalyzing or going off-topic, and focus on addressing the specific question posed by your professor.
Answer Only What Is Asked: Be concise and directly respond to the question. Avoid adding extra information or discussing unrelated topics. Professors appreciate clear and focused responses.
Discuss Additional Topics When Necessary: If your professor prompts you to provide more information or explore related topics, feel free to do so. However, avoid volunteering extra details unless they are directly relevant to the question at hand.
Answer in the Correct Order: Follow a structured approach when answering. Start with the relevant codal provision, case doctrine, or legal principle, then proceed to its application, and finally, offer an analysis. This organization helps maintain clarity and coherence in your response.
Spot the Issue: Pay attention to your professor's reactions and follow-up questions. If they appear unsatisfied with your initial response, try to identify the specific issue they want you to address. Be attentive to hints or cues from the professor to guide your follow-up answers.
Participating in Socratic method-style recitations can be demanding, but it's an essential skill for aspiring lawyers. The ability to think critically, respond effectively, and adapt to dynamic situations is crucial for success in the legal profession. By following these tips, law students can better navigate this challenging aspect of their education and build valuable analytical and oral communication skills. Good luck to all aspiring lawyers on their journey through law school!

Your advice to first year law students? And what are the lessons that can keep us grounded all throughout the law school journey?
Enrolling in law school is already a big step. It may be just the beginning, but it's a BIG decision that will change the next few years of your life, so, let me say that I'm proud of you.
Advice to first year law students:
To my mind, the first year is the hardest. It's your "adjustment period". This is where you'll be culture shocked— law school is an entirely new domain than college. You'll have to learn the materials by yourself, and the professors are just there to check whether you understood the books and cases that you have read. They are not there to teach. They are there to test you.
The first year is the hardest because it's the part where you'll have to figure out the study style and schedule that will best work for you. Some law students learn the law by reading the codal provisions first, then reading the cases after, then supplement it with the book (this is what worked best with me), and some other law students learn by reading the books right away. Some would learn the best by hand writing notes, some learn by using flash cards, and some learn by just downloading reviewers online. There's nothing wrong about how you study, it's a matter of finding out what works the best for you.
Lessons that will keep you grounded throughout your law school journey:
Never ever get intoxicated with your achievements in law school. You might be the highest in class, or you might have a shining moment during recitations, but don't let it get to your head. Always enter the room with the mindset that you know nothing. Law school is there to humble you—to make you realize that there are still a lot of things that you don't know about.
There will be bad days. There will be days that you might not feel like studying, and that's normal. But what matters most is you show up anyway. But if everything feels heavy and you could not take the burnout anymore, take some few classes off (as long as it isn't detrimental to your class standing) and get some needed rest, then bounce back again.
Family and friends is everything. Make the most out of the moments you spend with them. Your time will be limited and scarce because of how demanding law school is, but if you will be given the opportunity to spend time with the people that mattered the most to you, cherish it.
These are all for now, but if you want to ask more advice, feel free to reach out. I'll answer whenever I can.
Thank you for the anon ask. I enjoyed answering this.

Mock bar in Political Law today. A question goes like this:
“Spouses contributed greatly in Sulu.
Congress enacted a law conferring them the titles of Prince and Princess.
Is the law constitutional?”
Question was short; 1 sentence each par. 3 pars. total. Simple, yet putangina.
Windang sok. Buhat2 dayon ug tubag. “Congress’ police power is plenary. They can enact law as long as not under the Consti limitations.”
Turns out, it’s answered by a simple, but usually neglected, provision at the end of Art. VI, Consti.
Moral of this long post: Sa kadaghan na nimo’g nabasa, naa pa gyud diay kag na-miss. 4th year na, pero nakalimot gihapon. Law school will really humble you. Also, read your codal first gaddamit!
Now nearing the bar, words of SAJ Leonen hits harder. His point: make peace with every thing. Not sure where I read that though. But same thought.
Basta. In this review, will be making peace of every possibility that this will result in. Bahala na, basta I did my best—my mantra during exams, and will be my mantra this bar szn.
Kebs sa result; that was it. Para no ragregts. Lol.
