The picture drama begins with Cecile making a report about a battle which happened between Britannia and the E.U. army which ended up with a britannian victory, despite a strong defense from the opponents, thanks to the strenght of Suzaku Kururugi; As she keeps on insisting about Suzaku's achievements, the hero of the day interrupt her, concerned about her excessive flattering; This doesn't stop Cecile who keeps going on, talking about his new status as a Knight of the emperor and how it still didn't changed who he was. As Suzaku tried to lower his doing, Anya and Gino interrupts, supporting that he indeed achieved a lot and how excessive modesty can sound quite sarcasm; Suza ku insist that it wasn't his goal but that he just doesn't like excessive praising. Cecile then muses about how he must feel guilty about his achievements as, on the other side he is names things like "the traitor knight" or the killer of his own peopleAs Gino mocks Suzaku and says he himself enjoys being praised, to which Anya says they noticed, Suzaku hears something; He runs away as he mentions he heard a girl's voice; Searching through rumble he managed to take out a little girl from under a pile of stones; The little girl is weak, she was hidden while waiting for the sound of battle to stop. Suzaku wants her to get help, as she might be hurt, but she is looking for her dad; Suzaku tells her they'll search for him latter and ask Cecicle for a way to give her medical attention; As Suzaku talks about using the Lancelot to bring the girl to medical care, she reacts in fear;
She eventually begins to scream at Suzaku he is a murdrer who killed her dad, her brother and her uncle, who were all nice and fighting to protect their country; She calls him a devil, to which Suzaku silently listen without trying to snap back. As she keeps going on she suddently fall limp, having been shot by a tranquilizor Anya admonished her. Gino then comments with a smile about the strong surviving and the weak dying and how that is the law of the battlefield. Suzaku interrupts and say the strong should protect, or else he wouldn't be different from Zero: Gino comments about how weird of a guy he is and both him and Anya ask him if he became a soldier because of power or money ; They are interrupted by the emperor soldiers who have come to pick up Suzaku because the emperor wants to celebrate the achievements as a kishin (ogre). Gino thinks it doesn't fit Suzaku but Suzaku says it does, because he killedand betrayed; Cecile tries to counter but Suzaku is decided. Eventually he asks her to take care of the girl and conclude with the fact he has to keep going on his path.

It starts with C.C. and Kallen who are staying in a safe house as roomates and are currently laying on their beds. C.C. notices that Kallen is roaming through pictures of Lelouch, to which Kallen claims she does for surveillance purposes leading C.C. to suggest otherwise anyway, calling her a "peeping tom". C.C. decides to change the subject and asks Kallen what they are going to do for food tonight leading Kallen to wonder how C.C. can still be looking for food right now; She then mentions how the two are staying in this safe house under the guise of C.C. as a frail, older sister and Kallen as her supportive, cute, hard-working younger sister and thinks C.C. should try to act her part, to which C.C. replies that she needs nourishment in order to get better. Kallen eventually tells her to just reheat the pot and eat it. C.C. however, complains that she has to eat curry and rice again for the second day in a row. She then straightens up and asks Kallen when Urabe will arrive. Kallen knows that C.C. is not waiting for him, but for the provisions that he brings for them; C.C. mentions how the food Urabe brought the week before was a work of art and that the miso soup was handmade, but she also states that he has no sense of taste; As she mocks Kallen for her cooking, Kallen snaps back and tells her she isn't even able to make a bowl of rice; C.C. tells her that when she really wants to, she can do anything.
Kallen tells C.C. that she could then try to to clean up the room as it is filthy, but C.C. responds that she will when she becomes tired of it and ultimately pushes the blame back to Kallen who refuses to listen; After that Kallen comes to show some picture of Lelouch to C.C., noticing how he plays piano and does various things ; C.C. knows most of it and teases Kallen when she notices her reacting weirdly to that; They keep on sorting Lelouch's pictures, noticing him gambling, or commenting on Shirley self inserting when Lelouch helps Rivalz for his homsework; Kallen mentions to C.C. that she has to see Lelouch again to confirm something when they suddenly get a call from Urabe, informing her that preparations for the airship are complete; After that C.C. muses about how she’ll make Lelouch’s halted time move ahead again while Kallen on the other hand feels that Lelouch has to become Zero again, or else…

The picture drama begins as Lelouch narrates, wondering about what shape happiness would take if it could be seen In deep thought, he remarks that a kinder, gentler world must indeed exist. He then reminisces about a happy memory from his time at Ashford Academy. Kallen shrieks in discomfort as Shirley tries to tighten an unfinished dress around Kallen's body in the student council room; as Nina and Milly comments about how ecchi this sounded, Shirley apologizes for touching Kallen; While Shirley keeps on working on the dress, Milly comments that although Shirley might not look like it, she is at least capable at sewing; Shirley is annoyed by the patronizing. Nunnally and Milly then reveal that the girls of the Student Council are preparing for the upcoming Handmade Dress Party. The dresses are handmade so the party wont become a contest of girls comparing brand-names and price tags. As they keep on talking about the party, Milly questions Kallen on who will be her escort to which Kallen replies that she has not decided yet. Shirley cautiously asks if it will be Lelouch, causing Kallen to turn flustered. The girls take her reaction as an evidence she thought about picking him, to which Kallen quickly insists that this is a misunderstanding and that arrogant guys like Lelouch are not her type. They then persist and ask whether Suzaku or Rivalz might be the one, drawing a stronger denial from Kallen. While the girls keeps on talking, Lelouch, Suzaku, and Rivalz are carrying supplies down the hall when they all mysteriously begin to sneeze in succession. Rivalz suggests that this is the kind of sneezing that people get when others are talking about them and gleefully wonders if the girls are thinking about them. Lelouch brings up the topic of the escorts and says the girls must be talking about who will be going with who to the party. He then says that he will be escorting Nunnally as he always does; When Suzaku suggests that he could escort Nunnally instead, Lelouch reacts with nervousness and apprehension; While he says he trusts Suzaku, Lelouch brings up various excuses for why he must be the one to escort Nunnally. Rivalz takes the chance to tease Lelouch about his obsessive over-protectiveness, commenting on Lelouch's "heartwarming" love for his younger sister.
Lelouch, Suzaku, and Rivalz enters the Student Council room as Milly presents an embarrassed Kallen in her new dress. The boys are stunned by the sight and begin to stare and compliment her. As a flustered Lelouch suggests that the dress indeed makes the woman, Nunnally scolds her brother, saying he shouldn't say that, even as a joke since he will be the one escorting Kallen. Lelouch is utterly shocked. Nunnally then happily reveals that she will be going with Suzaku because "she pulled his name". All the girls apparently used Nina's "3D Hyper Miracle Lottery" game to decide who their escorts would be. Shirley pulled Rivalz name, to which both react with disappointment and disgust. Upset over the results, Lelouch loudly denounces the lottery and sternly rejects the pairings. Kallen takes offence to this, asking Lelouch if she isn't good enough for him. Lelouch reluctantly tries to deny he said, that giving Nunnally the opportunity to affirm the issue is then settled, to which Lelouch reventually gives in. As the council begins to cheer for the upcoming party, Arthur, who has been strangely attracted to Kallen during the whole thing, begins to run around her feet, causing Kallen to panic, much to Shirley's distress as the dress isn't finished; As the dress fall under Kallen's very undignified shriek, the last panel shows Lelouch's blushing face over seeing *you own imagination there* Lelouch eventually narrates the present again. He remarks how, one year ago, every day was just like this childish episode. With a tinge of sadness, he closes by saying how he did not realize then how precious every little happy moment of that time would mean to him later on.

The picture drama begins with C.C. and Kallen doing an oriental dance show for chinese men in a garrison in the Chinese Federation. As the dance comes to an end, both are complimented by the men for their performances; C.C. and Kallen both thank the Chief for allowing them to entertain them; Kallen then mentions that they heard about the wedding ceremony of Prince Odysseus eu Britannia and Empress Tianzi. The Chief states that they can quit their careers as traveling dancers and can stay with him. C.C. responds that they would, but if their elder sister can come as well, surprising Kallen. C.C. reconfirms with Kallen that they do have an elder sister to which Kallen, understanding, eventually agrees, while mentioning that their elder sister is more beautiful than they are, has an amazing voice and is also a much better dancer. The Chief becomes interested in this "elder sister" and asks for her to be brought in; As supposed,The elder sister turns out to be Lelouch in disguise. As "she" approaches the men, they compliments her on her beauty. C.C. then asks Lelouch to perform a dance while Kallen asks him to sing for the men of this garrison. As Lelouch does neither, the Chief wonders aboyt his silence; Lelouch decides to speak and reveals the fact that he is indeed a man, with a manly voice. The Chief decides to question on his origins to which Lelouch replied with Japan, not "Area 11" as it's commonly called, shocking all the men in the room. Lelouch then mentions that the Chinese Federation has two weapons that he needs in order to defeat "that man". The first is battle potential and the second is the roots of Geass. Lelouch reveals that the Chief and his men care for nothing except craving for power and imposes heavy taxes to the people in order to fatten his wallet. For punishment, Lelouch uses his Geass ordering the Chief and his men to be pigs.
Kallen states that now the path to Vermillion city is opened and C.C. mentions that Tohdoh and the others will be wondering how they managed to open the door from the inside. As she brags about her plan going out smoothly Lelouch shuts her up, asking how she dared to turn him into their older sister and complaining about how they exxagerated his traits; Kallen snaps at him that she had to dress as a bunny girl to save him, while C.C. add she ate a lot if pizza. Kallen then begins to complain for she wanted to see Lelouch's embarrasing dance moves but Lelouch says that unfortunately for her, he was taught how to dance during his time in Britannia as a young boy and he knows every dance; He then says he'll never crossdress ever again, to which C.C sights that she wanted to try it at least once, stuff like cross gender festival, or general student life things. Lelouch receives a phone call from a member of the Black Knights and is informed that a Knightmare has appeared a point 17. Lelouch tells him to initiate their warship systems and puts Diethard in command. He then orders Kallen to go in her Guren and help to which she obeys directly; As C.C. tells Lelouch that she will return to the Ikaruga. Lelouch tells her to wait and tell her that after this is over, they will have everything back and she'll even be able to be a sudent and enjoy it as she wants to. She then decides that she would be president of the Pizza Club and that Lelouch can be vice-president. Lelouch wonders why she would have a higher rank and the two then continue on arguing about pizza and age fraud and fun stuff like that.

Nunnally and Schneizel take some time off after the Chinese Federation's coup d'état at a newly opened casino designed by Clovis. They have a conversation about how the casino was built as a present for the late Clovis who was a man that loved to give presents. Cecile is seen with Guilford and Kanon explaining on how the slot machine was developed in Area 11 and how to play it. Guilford is surprised by the amount of knowledge that Cecile knows in gambling and she replies that it helps with her work stress. Kanon questions if it really works and then Cecile proposes the idea of all of them gambling sometime. He appears happy about it stating that it is good to get away from all of the royalty and the Knights of the Round who he is always stuck with. Meanwhile, Suzaku is with Gino playing the slot machines when it appears that Gino won the jackpot. Gino states that he is getting bored, while Suzaku says that the slots are probably slow because its the opening day (which in fact is due to their superhuman reflexes). The conversation goes back to the other three where Guilford questions on where Anya is, with Cecile replying that she is with Nunnally. Kanon comments that they must be really good friends.
It then moves onto Anya and Nunnally who are both tasting the food at the casino. After commmenting on how wonderful the food tastes, Anya suggests she tries some other kinds to which Nunnally accepts. Lloyd appears along with Cécile, Guilford, and Kanon who comments that Anya and Nunnally must be friends now. Kanon replies that it must be because of them being close in age. However, Schneizel appears and states that it must be their souls are being drawn together. But, Lloyd comments that a soul is unscientific. As Kanon looks at Schneizel and tells he never met someone so undetached with their feelings, they both remember a time at school when Schneizel was the perfect prefet, admired by everyone, and how he always thought that he was a model leader for everyone to follow. He then comments that even though Schneizel was nice, he wasn't afraid to use a whip to enforce rules. Schneizel replies stating that he never had to use a whip after making an example out of Kanon. Gino reappears with the rest of the group and asks Schneizel to gamble with him since he bested everyone else. After asking Kanon and Lloyd on whether he should gamble, Schneizel decides to and states that he will leave Gino completely defeated.
For the next R2 picture drama it's right there

Rolo over the years
28th September is when Turn 25 “Re;” first aired, and together with Lost Stories also wrapping up R2 in its latest update, I’ve been remembering just how I miss what Code Geass was like before the year 2012ish. Rolo has been, in my opinion, treated worse since then.
Apologies in advance, as I'm going to complain, but I want to share what I remember about a time which may be forgotten or unknown to younger fans:
Before Akito, Code Geass’ “canon” story was mainly the 50 episodes of the anime. Picture/Illust Dramas, season 1 Sound Episodes (R2 SEs mostly stopped being serious) and official publications here and there were also part of the canon, but beyond that, comics like Majiko’s, Nightmare of Nunnally, or videogames such as Lost Colors diverged sufficiently from the anime to be clearly treated as AU spin-offs. Code Geass ended with Lelouch dying, and despite plenty of “the cart driver is Lelouch” theories, the creators themselves stated that Lelouch was dead (can’t remember the source, but it’s probably well documented somewhere). I miss when Lelouch stayed dead, not just as a Rolo fan, but because that’s what made the story bittersweet. That’s what made Continued Story a song I personally couldn’t listen to. All the fanarts of the characters being happy together when you knew Lelouch never got to experience that… It was sad, but in a pretty way. And yet, I guess many viewers do like Lelouch resurrecting, considering that both Lost Stories and Rozé follow that canon. For me, watching L.L. do nothing but speak in cryptic messages with C.C. is sadder than accepting his death, and not the “pretty” kind this time, but the “Lelouch was forcibly turned into someone who isn’t him” kind of sad. As for Rolo, during R2, Lelouch lived for 5 more episodes after Rolo’s death. And in such a brief period, he remembered Rolo as many as 5 times: Turn 20 preview, when Rivalz asked in Turn 20, Turn 21 preview, Turn 24 when Lelouch recalls the people who sought happiness, Turn 25 when his life flashes before his eyes. Back around 2008~2010, believing Rolo had become important to Lelouch was easy. Hikari (summary) was canon. Kiseki no Tanjoubi most likely isn’t, but Lelouch and Rolo had the main roles and Lelouch worries when Rolo gets tired. New official illustrations were still being released. The Special Edition Zero Requiem was dedicated to Shirley and Rolo because they inspired Lelouch’s Zero Requiem plan. That’s a lot of Rolo attention coming not just from the staff, but Lelouch himself. Yet resurrected!Lelouch doesn't remember Rolo again! Except for maybe just once, when Rolo and Euphy were saving him… and unfortunately for me, he uses kimitachi, which implies he was addressing Euphy (he would have used omaetachi with Rolo)… 😭 I also gacha'd Emperor Lelouch a couple days ago, hoping to find ロロ in any of his lines, but nothing. Code Geass’s canon expanding after R2 mostly took good things away from Rolo, and added bad things: -Akito and Oz both did damage to Rolo and Lelouch’s meeting. When only R2 existed, we assumed that Rolo had met Lelouch very shortly after Charles’ Geass, and that Rolo and Lelouch spent a whole year together. Akito shortened their happy year because Lelouch now needed to be Julius first, and Oz introduced Clara, who, turns out, was actually the initial choice to replace Nunnally instead of Rolo?! And even though I don’t think she even got to meet Lelouch, I don’t like how Rolo was no longer *the* Nunnally replacement. Since Rolo mentions unmei in Arabesque, I think he would have preferred to believe Lelouch and him were destined” to meet -Couldn’t Benio and Savitri's stories be told without involving Rolo negatively? Did he need more sins? Ohgi and Nina have been redeemed in recent years, while Rolo… didn’t kill Shirley in the movies, but in the Fukkatsu manga and Lost Stories he did, so I still feel like he killed Shirley in the Fukkatsu canon -We don't talk about GeaGene -Mario/Maya ruining Rolo’s sacrifice There’s another piece of knowledge seemingly lost to time, which is that those pictures of Lelouch and Rolo aren't official. You know the ones. They were drawn by Yukie Sakou, who WAS an official animator/illustrator, but she released Anniversary & Memorial on her own. I've seen misinformed comments... Something else about Fukkatsu: I liked C.C. better when she wanted to live and be happy without depending on the protagonist for it. But if C.C. fans disagree, they certainly know her better than I do.

Random Rolo Ramblings 6: Kururugi and Canon

My intention was to write a few lines about the relationship between Rolo and Suzaku and post them around Suzaku's birthday. Well, it did not happen quite like that, but here they are. Admittedly, there is not really much to write about as far as the series canon goes, and here I would already like to digress a little: By '(series) canon' I mean everything that is officially part of the Code Geass story (people, places, events) as it unfolds in the TV series, not the recap films, which divert from the series canon and partly tell a different story. You can consider them a form of Code Geass elseworld or parallel universe/alternate timeline (apparently Genesic Re;CODE did that) or just see them as a separate movie canon which includes Lelouch of the Resurrection. (Correct, 'canon' is the second main topic of this article.)
As far as the Geass series canon goes, it certainly includes R1, R2 and also Akito the Exiled. I would also add the picture dramas, but that is a matter of debate and one could argue that their canonicity is not on the same level as that of the series' episodes. There are also the drama CDs, but, like I wrote before, these are just too far out there to be part of the official story. There may be official books that Sunrise considers canon, but my personal philosophy is that when we talk about films or TV shows, only what's on the screen is canon.
So what about Suzaku and Rolo? If we follow the show's internal chronology, they first meet in the final scene of Akito the Exiled. We get two reaction shots of Suzaku's face, first when Rolo enters the room, accompanied by the two Geass Order guards, then after he tells him that Charles has 'granted' 'Julius Kingsley' another audience. (By the way, look how tall he is in comparison to Suzaku. Must be the boots.) In both cases, Suzaku looks both quite angry and extremely wary. In the first case, Suzaku even makes a hard-to-define moaning sound that sounds both apprehensive and annoyed. In other words, he does not seem happy to see Rolo at all. He might be uncertain at first whether the rescue party are friend or foe, but even after Rolo has made it clear that they are on his side, he looks as happy as an employee who hates his boss and is told that he can go back to work now. This may have nothing to do with Rolo as a person, but with the unpleasantries that await Suzaku and Lelouch, but to me this look also says "Who's that creep they've sent to pick us up?"
Luckily, there are no hard feelings between Suzaku and Rolo in R2 despite this encounter, and this is obviously because R2 was produced before Akito. There is only one conversation between Suzaku and Rolo (and Villetta) in the OSI's secret control room, (which I have covered before, more than once, actually). While Rolo and Villetta have more or less always treated each other as equals, Suzaku clearly acts as the one in charge. Everyone is very polite, but Suzaku seems to be doubtful about the effectiveness of their surveillance, which triggers a response from Roll that makes him appear a little offendes, but secretly he is certainly worried that Suzaku might find out that Lelouch has regained his memories (and that he has changed sides). In a different world, to Star Trek, they may be friends, at least they don't hate each other, but in this situation, Rolo mostly regards Suzaku as a threat, which is why he even offers Lelouch to kill him. When Suzaku arranges a phone call with Nunnally to figure out whether Lelouch has regained his memory, Rolo thwarts his plans with his time-stopping powers. Apart from that, we see him giving Suzaku wary sideways glances, and that, to my knowledge, is about it. Not much, given the fact that older official artwork often shows Lelouch, Suzaku and Rolo as a kind of love-hate-whatever triangle.
What I would really like to know is what happened between the trio's journey home from Euro Britannia and Rolo's/Suzaku's arrival at Ashford. Didn't they have any conversation about 'Julius' resp. Lelouch? It would have made sense for Suzaku to brief Rolo about Lelouch's character traits so that he knows how to handle him and how to play the role of the little brother convincingly. Moreover, the Vincent's design is based on the Lancelot's, would Suzaku not be the perfect tutor for Rolo as a Knightmare Frame pilot? That would also explain Rolo's piloting skills. (Wouldn't it be fun if Lloyd was also involved? Maybe Rolo had a reason to call him "pervy four-eyes" in that infamous sound episode.)

Of couse there is that slightly weird scene in the second recap movie where Bismarck introduces Suzaku to Rolo (who is dressed like an accountant and looks as if he hadn't had any sleep for a week and not seen any daylight for a month, quite the contrast to his Akito outfit and posture) and Villetta. Here it is made more obvious than in R2 that Suzaku is in charge of the operation. In this scene it is also acknowledged that Suzaku and Rolo have met before, and maybe Suzaku's bad memories are the in-story explanation for Suzaku's so bluntly (and rudely) addressing Rolo's faulty Geass, which is one of the things I hated about this scene, the other one being Rolo's new alias ('Nebiros'/'Neblos'). Rolo's resentful look is more than understandable. I know why the writers made Suzaku say that: they needed a quick way to establish Rolo's weakness, but it still seems so out of character for someone like Suzaku. (I like Suzaku thanking Rolo for rescuing them better, even though he did not look particularly grateful when Rolo freed him and Lelouch from prison.) Villetta's defending Rolo and praising his skillfulness, on the other hand, is perfectly in character for her. Anyway, this scene does not contradict series canon, so I can potentially accept it as "this is what happened" to fill a gap in the story, I'm just not sure if I want to.
Which is why I am now turning to the readers. How do you personally deal with the canon problem, in Code Geass and otherwise? After all, reboots, recaps, remakes etc. are a pretty common phenomenon in the world of anime and elsewhere. Do you want to have a rigid canon or do you like to see alternate/new/fresh versions of the same story? What is your personal Code Geass canon, the two seasons of the TV show, Akito, the recap films, Lelouch of the Resurrection, the mobile games? Please let me know and thank you for reading all this, these articles are called "ramblings" for a reason.
P.S. Sorry for mostly using screencaps that I have used before.

✨🎯🌂 💚🍎🍩 for Beatrice Lacrimae, Lavinia Sparda-Amata, None, K and... I can see you have Kingdom Hearts on your OC page, but nobody is listed. :<
Oh, and Emiri Satou and Anemone from your non-fandom OCs!
(I'll include my KH ocs for you ;) )
OC Ask Game
✨- How did you come up with the OC’s name?
Beatrice Lacrimae was just me looking for characters in Dante's Inferno/Divine Comedy but I didn't realize that Trish was literally Beatrice ahgufddgusdf. But I got attached to Beatrice so pfpf. Lacrimae I believe was latin for tears and I thought that it was #deep.
Lavinia Amata was also a Dante's Inferno situation :)! Lavinia is the daughter of Amata, Latinus' queen, and uhhhh. uhh it sounded pretty LMAO.
None was 100% me making a mistake during the character creation screen where I.. forgot to put in a name. So when she was introducing characters in the game she came up as just "None" and I thought it was really funny gshdf. Then I thought she could have an actual name but goes by None to represent her mental state; Nunally is a Code Geass character I like and Wenonah is a native american name meaning First-daughter.
K was me picking a letter that wasn't used (at the time...) in Death Note that was close to L. She originally was going to use the codename "Kami" because I was really silly as a 12 year old learning broken Japanese. I picked the name Katherine Kilgore as an adult because I thought it sounded nice!
Kitana, one of my KH OCs, was the name of my cousin that I really liked. I used her first and last name originally but changed her last name to Garrison when reuploading the story to AO3 as an adult.
Nerissa just sounded nice and kingdom hearts-y hehe.
Emiri was the name of a Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya character I liked despite her small appearance. Satou is a common Japanese name!
Anemone was an aquatic flower that fits the floral themeing of my magical girl group hehe.
🎯 -What do they do best?
Beatrice is probably best at showing off her #sick and #elite sharpshooter skills and scythe. Though, outside of that she's a sewing pro and made a lot of the over the top "lolita-esque" outfits herself. She also makes a rly mean stirfry noodle according to Kyrie :}
Lavinia is prolly best at singing; she can go from operatic sopranos that can shatter glass to deep scary metal growls. She's also really good at like vocal impressiosn too? It's fucking weird lol.
None, if you asked her, would say she's best at sexual stuff due to her past. She doesn't like to talk about it too much though, or rather, think about it too deeply. She's good at small weapons and diplomacy.
K is supposedly a mathematical genius but I, the creator, am terrible at math so please just believe me.
Kitana was supposedly TEH KEYBLADE MASTERESS so take that as you will, haha.
Nerissa likes playing struggle and soccer but isn't sure if she's actually the best at it.
Emiri is best at child rearing and being a cheerleader. She's also amazing at organization and team management, its how she can manage to volunteer so often.
Anemone is pretty good at gymnastics and acrobatics.
🌂 - What genre do they belong in?
Beatrice: Comedic Romance, Action
Lavinia: Comedy, Dramedy
None: Post-apocalyptic drama, erotica, tragedy
K: "Crime thriller", romance, tragedy
Kitana: Romantic comedy, emphasis on the comedy
Nerissa: Slice of life, romantic comedy
Emiri: Slice of Life, NTR/Cheating, Erotica
Anemone: Erotica, action-adventure, romance, magical girl
💚 - What is your OC’s gender identity and sexuality?
Beatrice: Cis fem, bisexual
Lavinia: Feminine (demi-girl?), pansexual
None: Cis fem, bisexual with male-lean
K: Cis fem, demisexual
Kitana: Cis fem, straight
Nerissa: Cis fem, bisexual with fem lean
Emiri: Cis fem, bisexual with male lean
Anemone: Trans fem, pansexual
🍎 - What is the OC’s relationship w/their parents like?
Beatrice doesn't know her father who was supposedly a demon and her mother was ill and very distant for her. Its... not the best. Not hostile but not good.
Lavinia thinks that her father is Sparda and that he's complete scum for abandoning her mother. She never met the demon but has a difficult relationship with the concept of him. How could someone who saved the world be so selfish and vile? She was also manipulated by her "angelic" mother, Amata, who taught her to hate Sparda and his sons. She loves her mother but is the one who ultimately ends her life.
None thinks she loves her parents. They did their best to raise her but didn't protect her and outright enabled bad people without realizing. It's incredibly distant even before she's sent out to the Wasteland.
K is an orphan with little to no memory of her birth parents and was not adopted as Whammy's House found her too valuable to be adopted out. She treasures her relationship with Whammy/Watari though.
Kitana was close to her parents. Standard parent-child relationship where its strained due to teenage hormones and not feeling like she's truly understood. She's closer to her mom than her step-dad though. She doesn't realize how hard her family is looking for her when she's stuck in the Kingdom Hearts world though.
Nerissa is in a similar scenario as Kitana. They're close and love each other very much, they butt heads but at the end of the day... it's all good.
Emiri is close to her father, Eitaro. MAYBE A LIL TOO CLOSE-- Her relationship with her mother is fine. They all love another.
Anemone is an orphan unfortunately :(. She doesn't remember her parents and had to take care of herself.
🍩 -Who is your OC’s arch-nemesis or rival?
Beatrice: At first, she thinks its Kyrie but ultimately falls for her just like she did Nero lol. She has a friendly 'rivalry' with Nero whenever they're on missions together though.
Lavinia: Her momther, ultimately, after she learns the truth about Sparda.

Beta Reader Info - BETA REQUESTS OPEN
Please read until the end before contacting me.
** = Important bits
If you’d like a beta for one of your works, please consider me. I can do all of the following:
- Proofreading (grammar and punctuation)
- Plot, pacing and continuity
- Characterization
- General style
- In-text comments
-Suggestions/sounding board
- Inspiration and encouragement (Always included!
**Please note that I work in American English. Let me know if you are writing in another dialect, like British. If none is specified, I’ll give it my best guess.
I usually do full edits, where I go over every sentence. Full edits are what you will want if you want me to check for grammar, pacing, and flow.
I can also do overall comments, where I read the piece/chapter and only give comments at the end. These comments are typically more general and I am much quicker at getting the piece back to you.
I will beta any rating and any genre. The only thing I’d be hesitant to beta would be A/B/O dynamics, simply because I have zero knowledge of it.
I prefer to use Word and its “Track Changes” function to do my edits. Google Docs also works. While I am your beta, we can keep in touch in any way and however often you’d like. E-mail, tumblr, and Discord are all good ways we can keep in touch if you have any questions about my edits.
**I do not beta read original full-length novels with the intent to publish.
Turnaround Time
For shorter pieces (less than 8k words) I will usually get those back to you within a week from the date you send me your piece. If I take longer than that, feel free to ask for an update. The same turnaround applies to longer pieces that are sent one chapter/section at a time if they are under the 8k limit.
For longer pieces (8k+), time will vary depending on the length and the level of edits/comments you would like. I probably won’t be able to give you an exact timetable.
If you have a time restraint, then consider asking for overall comments and provide targeted questions for me to answer. You can ask for details about this when you contact me.
After You’ve Received Your Feedback
When you get your piece back with my comments and suggestions, it is completely up to you to decide if you want to keep any of them. However, if you have any questions about my edits or if you want me to take a second look at a particular section then feel free to contact me again. I encourage you to start up a conversation about your piece because that way you will get the best beta experience I can provide. I especially encourage it if you have submitted a long piece because with those I am bound to miss some things. I promise, if you want to send me a list of 20+ questions, I will not be annoyed, so please go for it! However, this is completely optional.
About Me
My fandoms include Marvel (specifically MCU with my main ship being stony), Harry Potter, Disney/Pixar, and Batman.
For anime, my favorites are Full Metal Alchemist, Yu Yu Hakusho, Inuyasha, Code Geass, My Hero Academia, Yuri on Ice, and Junjo Romantica.
My favorite TV shows are The Vampire Diaries and its spin-offs, Supernatural, Jane the Virgin, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Helluva Boss, BBC Sherlock, Our Flag Means Death, Good Omens, What We Do in the Shadows, and Once Upon a Time, to name a few. I’m very big on dramas and angst.
Not so much for video games, I’m afraid. I played Fire Emblem Heroes and know a lot about Fire Emblem Awakening. I’ve also played the first Kingdom Hearts and Stardew Valley.
This isn’t the whole of it, I am open to more! Contact me. :)
**If you contact me and it turns out that I am not familiar with your fandom, then it’s really up to you whether or not you’d like me to beta your work. If you want someone who is familiar with it, then I’m sorry, I don’t think I can help. But if all you need is some proofreading then it won’t matter whether or not I’m familiar with it. It’s up to your preferences and needs.

Forgot to mention period dramas and historical fantasy/fiction like Saiunkoku Monogatari, The Ancient Magus Bride, and My Happy Marriage, as well as beautiful yet tragic things like Ghost in the Shell and Wolf's Rain.
I also liked Number 6, pretty much every Ghibli and Makoto Shinkai movie out there, Pretear, and I did like Attack on Titan pretty much up until he beats the piss out of Annie as the following season made me actively dislike the show instead (and probably wasn't helped by the creator's nonsense, though Kenshin is also not free from that complaint either). I also liked Death Note until L's death at which point it became very boring but that I think is more a favorite character syndrome problem.
I DO NOT like mech shows with very few exceptions (enjoyed Full Metal Panic and Fumufu, and Zoids, and Transformers, and Escaflowne, but actively hated Gundam and Evangelion and Code Geass), I also don't like anything with too much fan service in regards to upskirt shots and minors acting sexually towards adults.
I LOVED Record of the Lodoss War and Utawarerumono. I am not the world's biggest fan of science fiction as I'm more a fantasy guy but did like Black Cat and Trigun (OG not remake) well enough. Vampire Hunter D and Trinity Blood are other sci-fi exceptions (as is Wolf's Rain and GitS lbr) but I found Lain and Madlax to be irritating at best. Cowboy Bebop and One Piece also grate on me, and despite really wanting to get into Bleach because it sounded right up my ally, I am pretty sure I only got to maybe the middle of the second season before I was fed up with it. Watched Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood in its entirety and definitely understood the hype. Had an ex try really hard to get me into Sword Art Online and the premise was interesting but the execution left me once again bored and annoyed so I didn't continue once we broke up. Buso Renken was OK but D.Grayman was fucking amazing from what I can recall.
I did not like Ranma 1/2 when I first read it because I found it to be mean-spirited towards various queer demographics but tumblr is trying pretty hard to convince me to read it for what it was. I did, however, love Ouran and Fruits Basket (OG, not remake). Soul Eater and its spinoff Fire Force also tried hard to convince me as once again the genre is an exact match but I kind of hate the art style so the interest is very low.
I am unfortunately very uninterested in Delicious in Dungeon. Sorry folks, Senshi alone is not enough of a draw for me to want to investigate especially because he's drawn kind of doofy and I prefer fan drawings of him, but rest assured that Senshi himself tried very hard to interest me with his bear-like ways. Who do you think I am? I witness a big fat hairy bearded man and I am immediately investigating, come on.
I AM interested in Dororo but concerned about my pain trigger, Dandadan but will be watching it with the bestie, Apothecary Diaries for the similarity to Saiunkoku, and Sugar Plum Fairy Tale for intriguing me with a clip that came up in my suggested with the dark haired guy who I think is the love interest. I tend to really like anime based off light novels it seems?
I'm sure this list is probably very dated as the most recent Has Watched And Liked title here is I think JJK and most of the others are from back when I was in high school or even earlier since my anime and manga consumption dropped off dramatically when I entered college in 2010. Which is why I'm collecting these suggestions! Keep em coming folks!
Hey weebs that follow me, I've been out of anime and manga circles for some time and outside of a few titles I'm starting to run low on things to try. If I give examples of what I've liked in the past, can you give suggestions on other things that are out there?
What I've liked over the years seems to be:
Samurai genre (Kenshin, Kurogane, Sword of the Stranger)
Supernatural/Horror-lite (Descendants of Darkness, Noragami, Beyond the Boundary, Inuyasha, Yu Yu Hakusho, xxxHolic, Jujutsu Kaisen, Shaman King, Shounen Omnyouji) (preferred genre I love this shit)
Fun Shounen Things (My Hero Academy, Pokémon, Hikaru no Go)
Cute Shoujo slice of life things (His and Her Circumstances, Free!, Super Gals!, Land of the Blindfolded)

EAH VA/Seiyuus
You know where this is going. For @sayuricorner's TW x EAH AU.
So, this was inspired by these two videos:
Can Twisted Wonderland Character VAs Sing? Part 1
Can Twisted Wonderland Character VAs Sing? Part 2
And that got the gears in my head turning and I just went with it, so here it is!
A few key things:
There are three VA/Seiyuus per character because I didn't want to overwhelm myself.
Some of the characters will have the same VAs because I thought the voice suited more than one character as well as to get a feel for their characters and because I was lazy about looking at every single VAs filmography.
I also included some of the roles those actors played so that there's some sort of building block for them.
I won't be including their English or Latin America VAs because you can find those on the EAH wikia, but I'll include a link.
(It's looooong so it's under the cut.)
Enjoy my usual insanity.

30 day seiyuu challenge Week 2
Hello~ This post is for the 2nd week of the ongoing seiyuu challenge (or should I say Seiyuu appreciation?)
Due to the nature of questions, there might be a bunch of minor spoilers here (in GIF or video form) for various anime (like Robotics;Notes, Nanbaka, Assassination Classroom, Danshi Koukouse no Nichijou, Psycho-pass 3, Kuroko no Basuke, Tada-kun wa Koi Wo Shinai, etc). If you absolutely hate spoilers, you may want to skip or proceed with caution.
If you don't particularly care about minor spoilers and have nothing better to do, you are most welcome to take a plunge in this long post filled with my opinions and fangirling.
8. Seiyuu with most impressive range (character types)
Fukuyama Jun
I was debating whether I should swap my answers for number 7 and 8. Ishida Akira and Fukuyama Jun both have impressive ranges in terms of pitch and character types. I just decided to go with my original answers.
You can tell that he is an experienced voice actor.^^ He has a variety of characters that'll make you go: "Wait, that was HIM?" "How can these two characters have the same voice actor?!"
I remember laughing so hard when I learned that Kazuma's(Noragami) seiyuu is the same as Lelouch's(Code Geass)…and then I saw Assassination Classroom.
Now I don't get too shocked. My reactions are more on the lines of…"Oh? Cool! As expected of Fukuyama Jun.”
9. Seiyuu with best character singing voice
Toyonaga Toshiyuki
Toyonaga Toshiyuki already has a nice singing voice. It is even more amazing that he can sing in different voices.
It's no surprise if a seiyuu can sing well. Sometimes, though, in character songs, I tend to hear the seiyuu rather than the character. [Hmm…I can't find the right words to explain this…It is like…Say for example I listened to Seiyuu A's character songs from various anime, it would sound like it came from the same person--which is understandable, since it is much harder to voice act while singing (Don't get me wrong please, I'm not trying to criticizes other seiyuus. I'm just trying to show better what I admire about Toyonaga-san. I'm also no authority on voice acting/singing.)]
What makes Toyonaga Toshiyuki's singing special is that even when singing, his characters sound different from each other. Other seiyuus are able to do this too, but I think that Toyonaga Toshiyuki's range is much wider.
Note: I do have a video compilation of Toyonaga Toshiyuki's character songs, but it might take me a while to post it. Stay tuned~
In the meantime, here is a nice compilation I found on Youtube:
youtube
Can we admire how he can change his tone & voice quality and still sound good?
10. Seiyuu with best inside voice
I couldn't think of the right word then, but what I meant was inner monologue.
Sugita Tomokazu
Need I explain this?
THIS IS just one of the reasons WHY:
youtube
This is just a fraction of his voice acting prowess. But I just love the contrast between the character's inside voice and speaking voice.
11. Seiyuu with best drama/ crying
Nakamura Yuuchi
When his character cries, you'll want to cry to. Personally, I don’t react much when watching anime (I usually watch with someone else). But Nakamura Yuuchi's powers are too strong. And it's not even the strong emotional outbursts/bawling yet.
Maybe the reason why it's so effective is because he usually gets casted as a tough character. So when his character cries, you know that it’s really serious.
How can he express so much sadness with minimal crying noises?
12. Seiyuu with best laugh
I know some seiyuu are known for their unique, contagious laughter (like Shimono Hiro). I decided to focus on voice acting laughter^^
I never gave much thought to how much information about a character’s personality is communicated just by the way he laughs. Seiyuus are amazing.
Kakihara Tetsuya
His character laughs are just lighthearted, pleasant to listen to AND contagious. even when it’s supposed to be annoying
He also does great creepy evil laughs.
Special mention: Nakamura Yuuchi
His laughs sound different for each character, and they never sound awkward.
13. Seiyuu with best scream
Kimura Ryohei
Similar to Okamoto Nobuhiko, Kimura Ryohei's screams sound controlled and real. Plus, he also delivers the necessary emotions.
Can we please appreciate how Kimura Ryohei delivered this scream of shock and anguish? (in Robotics;Notes)
I like how “carefully measured” his screams/shouts/miscellaneous noises sound. No matter how loud/emotional, it doesn't hurt my eardrums. He is so good in controlling the intensity of his voice.
PS. His voice sounds really good when you listen through headphones.
Special mention: Uemura Yuuto
Impressive performance as Yuliy Jirov, Jyugo, and Atsushi Nakajima. (He is really good with calm characters that are part beast :P)
14. Seiyuu with best English
Miyano Mamoru
It is expected that seiyuus who spent years outside Japan would have much better English pronunciation (seiyuus like Ayumu Murase, Hino Satoshi, Wataru Komada etc). But I chose Miyano Mamoru for biased other reasons.
For a non-native English speaker, Mamo-chan's English is pretty good. It's not perfect, but it does sound that much effort was put behind it. Have you heard him speak English as Asano Gakushu (in Ansatsu Kyoushitsu, the sports festival episode)? That really got my attention.
Or as Rin Matsuoka in Free! Eternal Summer?
youtube
Please appreciate his clear pronunciations and proper pauses.
And he also knows enough English that he can intentionally sound bad at it.

Pitch Me your thing!
HELLO HELLO MY SUNBEAMS. For most every category, there was an impressive turn-out for pitches, so I thought we’d utilize the weirdness of this year’s GIFTENING to give something new a try. The popular vote winner for each category will happen on the first day, but on the second, the winner will be chosen from YOUR PITCHES. Mostly those pitches will be to me. The exception is in Miscellaneous, where you’ll be pitching to my family, because what I want to do and what is most entertaining isn’t necessarily the same thing.
So! How will we do this thing? GLAD YOU ASKED. I’ll link you to a form in a minute with space for one pitch. Once you fill it out, you’ll be asked if you want to do another. There’s no limit to the number of pitches you can send in! But remember that if you submit multiple entries for the same category, you’ll basically be competing against yourself.
NOW WE’VE GOT SOME RULES FOR DOING THIS (which I mostly stole from Holligay, because I have no creativity this year). Please read them carefully! I’ll toss pitches that break any of these, and I’d rather your hard work not go to waste.
Pitch Me is open for your submissions from RIGHT NOW (22 December) through the very last day of this hellyear (31 December) at 11:59pm MT.
The thing you pitch must have come from what was nominated for THE GIFTENING 2020. (Full list of those nominations in every category below the cut on this post.)

For More information about the Sound Drama, check the post for the First Sound episode of season 1 over there

(One of my favorite Takahiro Kimura artwork, Shirley is so cute there.)
Track List :
1 - CLEAR SKIES AFTER THE SUMMER RAIN (Shirley's character song) 2 - Short Drama STAGE 11.351 " The girl in the straightjacket" 3 - Short Drama STAGE STAGE 15.447 "playing strangers" 4 - Continuous Drama Stage 0.518: The Song of the Secret Base 5 - CLEAR SKIES AFTER THE SUMMER RAIN (Instrumental)
Clear skies after the summer rain, Shirley's character song, sung by Fumiko Orikasa
youtube
Audio Drama Stage 11.351 " The girl in the straightjacket" (Happens right after the Narita battle, before C.C. sports her loely lolita outfit) You can listen to the drama in english dub right here
It begins as Lelouch walks home with C.C. welcoming him shortly after she has finished repairing her white straightjacket that had been damaged due to the Battle of Narita; As Lelouch question her motivation to wear that, C.C. blames him for not congratulating him on her household abilities. Lelouch then pressures her to use his money to buy more clothes or else he'll make sure no pizza deliveries come around anymore; C.C. blames him for trying to pressure her as she ate too many pizza and can't possibly go buy new clothes after that; She doesn't really want to do so, but Lelouch says that if someone walked in and saw her in his room wearing a straightjacket they might think he was keeping her prisoner.
Just as they are discussing how he could explain keeping a girl in his room at all, Nunnally comes in. ; C.C. greets Nunnally who is happy to meet her again and wants to take tea together but C.C. then mentions she and Lelouch are having an intimate discussion so Nunnally chose to go to her room to leave them some intimacy before biding C.C. goodbye;
After Nunnally leaves, C.C. notices how she seems to have the wrong idea about them, something Lelouch blame her as she encourages that; Lelouch questions C.C. as to why she continues to wear those clothes, making guesses as maybe she keevs those as a charm or maybe she just like weird stuff like that; She responds by saying it is a symbol of her captivity as she believes that she is a prisoner in this world. Lelouch then proceeds to go online and order her new clothes. He doesn't care about her taste, and he reminds her that is she isn't free she just has to fight for her freedom or nothing will change; They talk some more and C.C. realizes that Lelouch is in a sense a prisoner to the Ashford family and of the Kururugi family before that.. He vows to one day break out of the birdcage that holds him down. ; C.C. then thoughtfully remarks how Lelouch can be so weak at one moment and then so strong the next. Lelouch finishes the purchase online and C.C. seems to like the clothes that he has picked out for her, telling him he should get those as it's a great joy for a man to see a girl wearing clothes he bough; Lelouch give a deep sigh, and questions why she always has to act like that to which C.C. replies her signature reply "Because i'm C.C."
Audio Drama Stage 15.447 "Playing Strangers" (Takes place after Lelouch used his Geass on Shirley and removed her memories of him.)
The drama happens at Ashford Academy, as Shirley is talking to Lelouch and assigning him a few tasks before she heads out of the place; Since they are still playing pretend they don't know each other for everyone, Milly intervenes and encourages Lelouch to go and make up as but this lead him to get up and leave as well.
Rivalz then comments that they are really into the playing strangers thing, and that it must be a pretty serious argument for them to act this way. He then manage to suggest Milly and him should try and play pretend as well to see if that's fun; After some hesitance, Milly joins in; As they pretend to meet and get to know each other for the first time, Milly mentions her favorite color is rainbow so that she isn't confined to just one color and can love them all; Rivalz, who is totally into the game, compliment her on how much of a natural she is playing this game;
Because of this, Rivalz get bolder and as he is about to confess his love to Milly... Kallen bursts in to feed Arthur. After that, Kallen feigns being sick so that she can leave while avoiding questions and Rivalz tries another time to confess when... Suzaku bursts in as well. To feed the cat just like Kallen did before. As Suzaku eventually leaves, it is revealed that Nina has been there the whole time, unnoticed. Two more failed attempts latter, the game is done and Rivalz didn't managed to tell Milly how he feels. Milly thanks Rivalz for the fun and the memories and back to her job as president, she begins assigning him a bunch of work to do.
Audio Drama Stage 0.518: The Song of the Secret Base ( Takes place shortly after Nunnally goes missing during Lelouch's childhood, before the beginning of the show) You can listen to the drama in english dub right here
Suzaku vehemently declares that he will do what he wants to do and save who he wants to save with or without anyone's permission. Lelouch vi Britannia argues that it is his duty and right to look for and after Nunnally and refuses help from anyone. Suzaku calls him arrogant and bolts off into the forest to look for Nunnally as Lelouch muses about how he should be thankful to him anyway;
As Lelouch searches and searches for Nunally, he thinks she couldn't have gotten too far given her legs are weak but his desperation grows as he continues his own search through the forest. Eventually he stumbles upon a womandressed in a sunflower kimino, sitting with her back facing him. It's C.C.. He doesn't get a good look at her face but asks her if she has seen Nunnally; C.C. dryly informs him that such a girl has not come through this part of the forest. As Lelouch starts to wonder who this woman really is as she isn't from the temple and could be anything from a lost sould to an assassin, C.C. informs him that she is not his enemy and is just here as she was asked to keep an eye on things. Lelouch doesn't understand and asks her who she is but it begins to rain, leaing Lelouch to freak out at the thought Nunally will end up soaked, so he has to be fast; As he returnes his attention to the woman, he notices she vanished, in just a short moment.
Off in the distance Lelouch hears Nunnally's voice and he sprints off after her. He hears her laughing, noticing how she hadn't laughed since her mother died and runs harder to find her with Suzaku in some kind of underground fort that Suzaku had created. It turns out that Nunnally had fallen into the hole and gotten knocked out. Fortunately Suzaku keeps this hidden base of his stocked with food and weapons. As Lelouch questions Nunnally's laugh she says it's because of Suzaku, and Suzaku takes his chance to tell Lelouch he is too serious and he never laughs, leading the prince to realize he also stopped laughing. Nunnally then invites Lelouch to enter the base while he realizes that Suzaku has beaten him, as he found Nunnally before him and even made her laugh. Suzaku suddenly begins to apologizes to Lelouch for hitting him when they first met and explain how wrong he was about Lelouch and how strong he empathizes about everything he went trhough with his family and how admirable he is for taking care of Nunnally. Of course Suzaku starts crying claming how amazing lelouh is even through he isn't a prince anymore, to which Nunnally fully agrees. Suzaku then drags Lelouch into the base and they spend the rest of the day huddled in the base and away from the rain outside. Lelouch then ponders how it was the beginning of something happy for the three of them and how they didn't even noticed the rain stopped, as they were all hidding in that secret base.
That's about it for the 3rd Sound episode CD. I added the summary for the tracks even though they were available in english in case video get taken down and also because there are always some shifting between english and japanese version.

Rolo’s scary tale (R2 SE3)
R2′s 3rd Sound Episode has a track called Geass Hyakumonogatari (uploaded by someone on niconico), where Milly, Rivalz, Shirley, Suzaku, Anya, Lelouch and Rolo are together telling each other “scary” stories. The Britannians aren’t used to hyakumonogatari, so everyone except Suzaku narrates something that doesn’t really qualify as a scary story, such as Anya talking about how her phone’s data once got corrupted and she lost all her contacts, bookmarks, photos, etc. and she didn’t have a backup. After Anya’s sad-rather-than-scary story, Rolo decides to tell his own (5:50 if you check the niconico link above). (By the way, he speaks in formal Japanese, as he’s addressing everyone and not just Lelouch. Also, R2′s Sound Episodes are all [mostly] lighthearted and parodic, as you’ll soon notice:) Rolo: Could I tell my story? Milly: Oh! Rolo, you’re unusually assertive! Rolo: Yes. I got the feeling that if I stayed quiet among these many characters, I would be forgotten in no time. Lelouch: Very good, Rolo. You were able to notice that. Rolo: Thank you, Brother. (←he seems happy that Lelouch praised him, but Lelouch was probably reaffirming that Rolo is easy to forget) Well then... In the middle of the night, when I’m sleeping, sometimes I wake up from my chest hurting. Suzaku: This one might actually be good! (←because Suzaku had been complaining that all the stories so far weren’t appropriate for hyakumonogatari) Rolo: I wake up and my whole body is covered in cold sweat, as if somebody had been gripping my heart tightly. Milly: W-why would that happen...? Rolo: Yeah, I had no idea either... I wondered if it might be that “sleep paralysis” that people talk about. However, not long ago I finally understood the reason. Lelouch: What was it? Rolo: Actually, it’s a secret... but I have a power called “Geass” with which I can stop time for everyone around me, but as I do, my heart stops as well. And it seems that sometimes I use it even while I’m sleeping! Rivalz: Er... It’s a secret, but you stop your own heart when you are half-asleep...? Rolo: Yes! It’s a secret, though. But yeah, no wonder it was painful! Hahahaha. Everyone: ... Rolo: Um, what’s wrong, everyone? You are looking at me as if I were a poor little puppy... Lelouch: It’s fine, Rolo. It’s fine. ---- If you won’t listen to the track for Rolo, at least do for Lelouch’s extremely softly pronounced line at the end. I’m so glad Rolo’s pitiful story made Lelouch speak to him in such a kind sounding voice (whether he truly wants to comfort Rolo or is simply feeling sorry for him).

How Rolo Rolls Special 5: Keeping up with Big Brother (The Rolo Apocrypha Part 1)
The stories of the Code Geass Knight anthology series (labeled 'for girls', but don't let that deter you, boys) are mostly humorous and do not provide a lot of new insight into the Code Geass characters. However, there is a story in vol. 5 called Little Brother (by an artist named Nokiya) which deals with Rolo's first days at Ashford and has a little more depth. It is not canon, but still official, a bit like the sound episodes, so I would like to discuss it as a plausible depiction of what Rolo's starting days might have been like.
The story begins with your stereotypical transfer-student-introduction scene. Rolo probably intended to keep a low profile to avoid arousing unwelcome interest, but for someone allegedly being the younger brother of the school's most popular boy, that is easier said than done.

(Did you spot the typo?)
Both students and teachers, who probably know Lelouch better at this point than Rolo does, start comparing the two, and the result is not very flattering for Rolo.

The sad thing is Lelouch most likely did not even put a lot of effort into achieving all these things, he is just a natural. Rolo on the other hand, not so much (at least in this story, and probably not in canon either, I remember a picture of Lelouch tutoring Rolo). It is a bit surprising that he cares about his fellow students' opinion, but this may be because he cares about his mission, which requires him to be a convincing little brother (apparently his missions were the only thing that gave his life some sort of meaning before he met Lelouch, and he takes a lot of pride in always successfully completing them). Rolo then tries to impress everyone by excelling in sports.

But that does not please them either because they expect him to be just like his big brother “who has no stamina at all“.
Not being up to the task frustrates Rolo, but then he comes home and Lelouch (erroneously) shows him the unconditional love which he reserves for the people he considers family.

So much kindness from the enemy is very embarrassing for Rolo, but it actually spurs him on to keep up with Big Brother. (So much for the serious part, in the second epilogue he uses his Geass to cheat, but this is meant to be comical and not a likely thing for him to do, given that the existence of Geass is such a huge secret.)
All in all, this feels like a realistic scenario to me (all the younger siblings out there who attended the same school as their elder brothers or sisters can probably empathise one way or another), even though I hope his fellow students would be a bit more subtle about making these comparisons. One can imagine that these were not the only problems Rolo had to cope with at that point. (Like nosy questions about Lelouch and their - non-existent - parents. I would like to believe that Rolo asked Villetta for advice, too. I'm not sure if he did, but I think she did her best to help him anyway.) At any rate, thanks to Big Brother's tutoring, Rolo's grade's will be 'above average' later on, so at school will work out for him eventually.
What I also like about this story is the fact that, like the Last Moratorium picture drama, it touches upon the subject of Rolo's 'secret' (by which I mean untold) regular school life, which I find myself thinking about a lot, as it would be a great topic for fanfiction etc. (In fact, I made some humble attempts in the past, but there is potential for more and better things). So my questions to you, dear readers, are: Does the Rolo of this story act like canonical Rolo? How do you think Rolo behaves when in class or in the company of his classmates? Does he spend some of his freetime with them or does he devote it entirely to Lelouch (for surveillance, you know)? What would your school life fanfiction be about? Have you written one already, maybe? What else comes to your mind? Please comment or flood my ask box.

i'm a little confused with Lelouch's new code; as confirmed by the under the sea picture drama he's immortal, but is he still able to be affected by the geasses of other people anyway? in the movie he gave CC his plans to ensure his own mind wouldn't be read, and in the picture drama the shark pirate could still detect that he was lying. But then again, the shark had a sygil as opposed to a geass in his eye, and shamna had a code of her own too, so were their geasses different from normal?
- PD just confirms he doesn’t age, or at least his appearance doesn’t.
- Galonzo couldn’t detect any lies from him because he was saying the truth; he said he has a weapon, and it’s true, his ‘weapon’ was his geass.
- In Resurrection BD release/Lelouch birthday event, staff mentioned when Lelouch and Shamna activate their geass, the sound effect is different from when Kujapat (normal geass user) casts geass. Taniguchi explained that this is because both Shamna and Lelouch are the “failed ones” (なりそこない), and there’s no other existence like them in the whole world. I think this refers to them having incomplete code/failed to become code bearer, which was caused by Lelouch messing with C’s World.
- So Lelouch’s state of being is probably closer to Shamna’s than to C.C.’s. Can use geass, geass can still work on him, can access C’s World, can die, but can return to life through methods.
- Galonzo’s geass certainly is different from the ones we know in the past, from how he got it, where it was located and how he used it. But then again I’m not sure if this is a setting the production team has decided on or something they’re just experimenting on. After all, it’s just a picture drama.
Sorry for the late reply, not really eager to analyze too deep into codes and geass when there’s a sea of grey areas about the laws and mechanics.

Code Geass, if you could please and thank you.
Favorite character: Rolo Lamperouge My son I love him with all my heart.
Second favorite character: Cornelia Li Britannia She is my Goddess
Least favorite characters: Well since there are only two characters I hate in the entire franchise I’ll just list them both Ougi Kaname and Shirley Fenette. That’s it lol.
Yeah I know I’m weird cause most people would put down Nina or Lelouch’s parents on this part, but I actually love Charles and Marianne and Nina I am neutral on she get better near the end of R2 and the sequel movie plus she is rather interesting and I find her infamy among the fandom entertaining also I got a kick out of her memes the past 10 years. Like how can I hate her after all that? I just can’t~ xD
The character I’m most like: Well my favorite Co-worker calls me a sassy little shit and the only sass master is our girl CC.
Favorite pairings: Rolo x Nunnally ever since the Kiseki no Birthday PD I MEAN JUST LOOK AT THIS CUTENESS DOES IT JUST MAKE YOUR HEART MELT? MY OTP FOR THIS SERIES

I also really REALLY love Suzaeuphie,Lelouch x CC, Kalleuphy, and Suzalulu!
Least favorite pairings: Lelouch x Shirley or Shirley with anyone honestly,Lelouch x Rolo, and Ougi x Villetta that is it for this section
Favorite moment: That time Lelouch freaked out when Arthur came out with his Zero helmet stuck on his head. Priceless lol. Not from the anime, but in a sound drama Lelouch and Suzaku were eating pocky and they kissed and Rolo was like NIIIIIIIII-SAAAANNNNNN. I laughed my ass off.
Rating out of 10: First season 9/10, Second season 5/10, Akito the Exiled 8/10, all the various one shot PDs pretty much I gave them all 8/10 as well, The Trilogy movies I would say a 5/10 and Resurrection 5/10.

Have you seen hi score girl the first episode was pretty boring to me because it talked about old fashion games I couldn’t really understand about but after watching a few more episodes I got into it. Because it has drama and action, even romance in it. It’s also on Netflix, literally the only anime show I’ve been rewatching is code geass on there. I would definitely recommend watching it.
Hi! Oh i haven't heard of this one yet, from what you say it sounds interesting, so i'll add it to my list and check it. thanks for the rec!:D💖
