Seras(CV): If you try to make a candle with food coloring, the food coloring will just sink to the bottom of the glass, and when the flame eventually reaches the bottom all the coloring will catch fire and become one giant tall flame that you cannot possibly blow out and the glass will start to crack and then you’ll throw your blood bead on it in a panic and then the extremely hot food coloring will boil and sizzle horribly and then the glass will shatter.

Jack, pinching the bridge of his nose: five minutes...I left you alone for five minutes.

I think it actually would make some sense for Bonesaw to have studied SPECIFICALLY the field of parahuman medicine, with the rest of her knowledge having come from her shard. It's clearly a field of interest for her, but it would make sense for it not to be one she could get intuitively. After all, we know that the shards do have a tendency to block out any information about themselves; they erase the trigger visions from people's minds, and Lisa almost figures out how the Cycle works three or four times. She doesn't ACTUALLY figure it out until Charlotte and Aidan FORCE her to, and then she describes her powers allowing her to get a sense of what was blocked by feeling out the edges of what she can't intuit.

Bonesaw's power could be interacting with the knowledge of parahuman medicine in a similar way; she does describe herself being much better than average at figuring out where and how the Corona Pollentia will be situated:

“I’m really good at figuring out where the Corona and the Gemma are.  I can even guess most of the time, if I know what powers the person has."

However, the knowledge of the Corona and Gemma's existence itself could be information she's integrated from outside research. (We know that tinkers CAN integrate outside information into their tinkering and still end up better at it than a normal person who learned about it would be; we see this most commonly with them using another tinker's work in theirs, such as Kid Win reusing Armsmaster's lie detection program to give to Legend, or Defiant being able to competently alter Dragon's code.) When she talks about her knowledge on passengers and the Corona Pollentia, she states that she learned most of it from observation and study:

"I’ve taken twenty or thirty people apart to figure out how their power works so I can put them back together again the way I want them. I’ve learned almost everything about powers. I’ve induced stress of all kinds on people until they had a trigger event, while I had them on my table and wired to computers, so I could record all the details and study their brains and bodies as the powers took hold."

"You might give me a clue about the passenger. See, I think it’s something that’s hooked into your brain. It was alive up until your powers kicked in, it helped form the Corona, then it broke down. I’ve seen it at work when I’ve provoked and recorded trigger events, seen it die after."

This is in contrast to her standard medical knowledge, which is shown entering her brain unbidden with no study required:

Her mind leaped into action, reaching for knowledge she hadn’t had earlier in the night, knowledge of how to fix people. She took in details, grasped everything from the amount of blood her mommy had to heart rate and the amount of air she was breathing, just from the clues in how fast the blood flowed and the color of the skin. She knew the order she’d have to fix things. Ideas fired through her mind, telling her how to close the wounds, to draw the blood out of the carpet and clean it, or even making something that would do the same thing blood did, out of water and some junk from the kitchen, all with the exact right amount of electricity, to fill the veins and carry a low amount of air throughout the body, staving off the shut down of her brain long enough for Riley to figure out something else.
