Hello, Xia!
Today I upgraded my Linux Mint desktop from Wilma (version 22) to Xia (version 22.1). The upgrade itself went very smoothly. After it was done, however, I decided to rename the mount point for my home directory ... because the old (autogenerated) name was ridiculously long and awkward.
The rename didn't go smoothly. I broke the Xia install so badly that I couldn't log in. Luckily I still have a bootable partition with Virginia (version 21.3) installed. I booted Virginia and used it to repair my mistake.
According to Wikipedia, "Xia" is a surname and the name of several dynasties. Unlike all the other Linux Mint codenames, it doesn't seem to be a feminine given name. I guess the release manager goofed!

Bluenix lets out a small huff of amusement.
My universe has Agent Tanuki; No machinery is safe from them picking it apart, so no backlog. But as far as I know, protocol is still protocol.
The Late Night Embers
After an attack by a Zoraxis operative and a breakdown, Agent Bluenix (@brain-is-a-toaster) deals with Agent 13-12's stay in the recovery wing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Smitten, what happened?"
Agent Smitten turned to Typhoon as he sat on the chairs outside.
"It was brown. Her blood is brown, Typhoon."
The younger agent's fist clenched, choosing to sit down beside him. "How did they... How did that happen?"
"Candlelight happened." He took a few breaths, staring out into the hallway.
Typhoon remained silent, staring at the older agent's heavy sighs.
"I was gone for a mission and this happened. It's... I don't know anymore. How's everyone?"
"Not good, if I'll be honest. I'm not going to see 13. Last time was rough. Too much."
He nodded, staring at the closed door, which soon opened to reveal Dr. Marcel. Some medical jargon was exchanged before Smitten was allowed inside.
"Flor... Are you in pain?" He sat beside her in the bed, passing a keychain with three buttons. The yellow light lit up after a few seconds. "I suppose you're in distress."
He refuses to look at them, trying not to remember the incident. "Here. Trevor sent a letter."
The envelope was soon opened and passed to him with TK. "They're too busy. But hey. At least you can threaten them with a hug cage when you get better." He chuckled, handing a basket to them. "From them. They seemed really worried about you."
The green light lit up immediately.
Agent Smitten chuckled, but turned his back on them like Orpheus leaving the underworld.
They reached out their hand, him accepting so their hands intertwined.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hello? Bluenix? Are you still here?" Smitten knocked on the door of the bathroom after visiting hours passed. "Bluenix? Would you like to visit Flor tomorrow morning?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Agent Typhoon was carrying the report, choosing to bring them to Handler Blue (@blueorchid-95) tomorrow. She's currently preoccupied with her agent (@agent--shadow). His handler had been informed, now currently trying to stop a certain Crane from heading over in worry.
He's so exhausted, not only from his assignments in college or even the missions but emotionally. His friend fellow agent (@agentwraith) was just injured and now his universe's Agent Phoenix?
What's next? He'd rather not think about that right now.
His feet soon wandered to a the bundle of boxes as he looked for the oh so familiar white.
#introducing Agent Tanuki; a nonbinary tech goblin who got their codename from the fake Tanuki tail they always wear#They will steal your coffee machine just to upgrade it#only for the upgrade to be the machine making beep boop noises
Hey hi hello!! I’ve been ready your work and it’s amazing!! I actually have a funny request for the jojos/joestars (platonic). What if they had a little sister who, after gaining a stand/hamon/spin or whatever power system you choose, becomes a masked vigilante fighting crime at night and looking cool doing it. And once the jojos find out their sister puts on the deep voice like, “AHEM—I’m afraid I don’t know you! Oh look at that, I must go my people need me!!” And just try to escape and continue to be badass without getting grounded.
hi hi hiii, thank you so much, it means a lot that you like my work <3 and lol totally, i hope you enjoy and thank you for requesting! <33
Jonathan Joestar
At first, he’s just confused by the reports of a mysterious hero helping civilians at night. Then he spots his beloved little sister dropkicking a mugger while wearing a makeshift mask.
“Wait a moment… is that…?”
You freeze mid-roundhouse, look him dead in the eyes and go:
“AH-HEM- citizen, I don’t know you. I must go now. My people need me!”
Jonathan chases after you in full big brother mode.
He’s way too pure-hearted to stay mad, but you are absolutely getting a full gentleman’s lecture about putting yourself in danger.
He secretly thinks you’re very brave and cool, though.
Joseph Joestar
The second he finds out there's some sort of masked hero in town, he’s immediately obsessed with figuring out their identity. Cue spy gear, fake mustaches, and wild traps.
When he finally catches you after a late-night rooftop mission:
“HAH! I knew it was you! You’ve got Granny Erina’s nose!”
You dramatically bow and mutter, “I don’t know this man. He is clearly delusional. Goodbye.”
You try to backflip away. You land in a dumpster.
Joseph laughs so hard he can’t breathe. He helps you back up and says, “Okay, okay- one condition: let me be your sidekick.”
Jotaro Kujo
You’re sure you’ve been so sneaky. Cool mask? Check. Dark cloak? Check. Deep voice? Double check.
But Jotaro? He knew on night one.
“Tch… you really thought I wouldn’t recognize you?”
He corners you one night while you’re sneaking back in through the window. You spin, dramatically point a finger, and declare:
“I don’t know who you are sir, but I’m just a humble hero. Farewell!”
You try to zipline away. The rope breaks. Jotaro catches you by the scruff like a kitten.
He lets you keep doing it… but insists on upgrading your gear so you don’t get obliterated in the process.
Josuke Higashikata
He finds out by accident. One night he sees you suplexing a purse-snatcher and screams, “IS THAT MY SISTER?!?”
You immediately spin around and go:
“You are mistaken, my pompadoured friend. I must vanish!”
You toss a smoke bomb. It’s actually a bath bomb. There's a strong lavender smell.
Josuke is horrified, confused, and impressed. He rushes over yelling:
“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING OUT HERE YOU’RE GONNA GET KILLED- also that suplex was sick, teach me later??”
He threatens to tell Mom unless you agree to let him tag along sometimes. You now have a sparkly partner-in-crime-fighting.
Giorno Giovanna
Giorno hears about the vigilante through Passione’s grapevine and instantly suspects you. There’s only one person he knows who would dramatically yell “JUSTICE SHALL BE SERVED!” while riding a stolen Vespa.
He sets a trap. You fall for it. When he catches you mid-vigilante monologue, you point at him and go:
“I do not know this mafia man. Good day!”
You sprint away. Giorno has a stand. He catches up to you immediately.
He’s not mad. He just sighs and says, “Fine. But if you’re going to do this, you’re getting a proper costume, training, and a codename.”
You now have a manager.
Jolyne Cujoh
You thought you could get away with it. You really did. But you forgot Jolyne has been you- dramatic, rebellious, and extra.
She figures it out after you leave glitter footprints at the crime scene and says, “There’s no way a normal person is that dramatic.”
When she corners you during your rooftop getaway:
“I don’t know who you are, but tell my sister she has my love.”
Jolyne: “Do you seriously think that works on me?”
She grabs you with Stone Free and ties you to a chair for a lecture. She’s not mad though. She trains you herself. “If you’re gonna be a vigilante, at least do it right.”
Johnny Joestar
Johnny is the most confused of all. Who is this mysterious masked figure riding through town on horseback at night? Why do they yell “EVIL BEGONE!” like that?
Then one night he spots you riding a pony in full costume and he’s like-
“...Oh my god. It’s her. That’s my sister.”
He calls out. You screech to a halt and shout:
“I AM THE NIGHT- I DO NOT KNOW YOU- FAREWELL.”
You try to ride off, fall into a bush, and vanish with an awkward “woosh”.
Johnny just sits there staring into the distance like, “…I need help.”
But he supports you. Reluctantly. He even lets you hide gear in the stables. But he draws the line at you trying to fight actual outlaws. “You’re not allowed to die until you’re 30. I said so.”
Josuke Higashikata (Gappy)
Gappy’s like, “Huh. Weird. Someone’s fighting crime at night and yelling catchphrases…”
Then you come home with a black eye and glitter on your shirt.
He squints. “You wouldn’t happen to know anything about this ‘Midnight Angel of Justice,’ would you?”
You dramatically turn your back and declare:
“You are mistaken, dear stranger. I am but a shadow in the wind.”
You climb out the window. And immediately fall.
Gappy stares at the ceiling like, “I’m not telling. I just wanna see how far this goes.”
He ends up being your unofficial support team- sewing up your outfit, giving you pocket money for gadgets, and occasionally pretending not to see you sneak out again.
What do you see the kids doing in the future?
Great ask.
I feel like Huey belongs in the science field. Working at McDuck Labs, first as an intern, then as a scientist. He would have a PhD. He would eventually become the head of the lab. The Junior Woodchucks are an important part of Huey; I don't see him leaving that part of his life behind. Like Launchpad, Huey would be in charge of the Duckburg troop, guiding the new talents.
Dewey wants to do everything and try everything. He's a singer, an actor, a semi-professional golfer, a professional wrestler, a professional pilot, and an adventurer. He goes where he feels he needs to go.
Part of my headcanon is that Louie paints, and it's an important part of his life. Let's go a little outside the box with him and say he made it his profession. A famous, established, and millionaire painter. Perfect for him. Still, he makes time to run a profitable business, which we'll talk about later.
Webby is an adventurer, you can't take her out of her element. She explores the world and discovers its secrets. Sometimes alone, sometimes with the company of her family and friends. She's also a S.H.U.S.H. field agent.
May works in fashion. She started as Daisy's apprentice, then developed her own style and is now a famous couturier. She also writes, having published a few horror and mystery books. They're not a global phenomenon, but she has a loyal fanbase. Of course, she also joined S.H.U.S.H., but she was later transferred to The Agency, where she conducts even more secret operations. The codename she inherited is Double Duck. Yes, she's her father's successor.
June is a mechanical engineer. She also works at McDuck Labs and sometimes argues with Huey over projects. And while she loves her job, her night shift motivates her even more, as she patrols the streets of Duckburg under the mask of Duck Avenger. That's right, she also inherited an alter ego from her father. Of course, Uno is her faithful ally.
Lena runs a magical creature control and enchantment business. If you're having trouble with harpies, if ghosts are keeping you awake, if you've fallen under a voodoo curse, Lena is the one to call. Her work takes her all over the world, where she also takes the opportunity to help homeless children. No one should have to go through what she went through. The business is run by Louie, and the two are happily married.
Violet is also a scientist, but unlike Huey, she can't do a deskjob. Violet joins Webby and Lena on their expeditions to investigate the secrets of the world, the biology of magical creatures, and other mysteries. She has several published works and won several awards. She is happily married to Huey.
B.O.Y.D. is another scientist, and also works for McDuck Labs. Technically Huey's second-in-command, the two best friends prefer to call themselves co-heads of the lab. Gyro has upgraded his body every year so he can grow alongside his friends. He supports Lena in her quest to improve the living conditions of homeless children. Happily married to May.
Gosalyn is a hero. The vigilante who watches over St. Canard under the mask of Quiverwing Quack. Unlike Darkwing, she has no problem teaming up with another hero, making the duo of Quiverwing Quack and Duck Avenger the most feared by criminals. Her day job is as a professional hockey player, because did we really think Gosalyn would do anything else? They aren't officially married, but she and Dewey might as well be.
Thanks for the ask @conman-17, hope you liked it.
Note: You have many code names. Many. Many of them are used by certain people. Like the devil. You have many names. Boomer, Opal, Crimson and Emerald are the main ones used to refer to you. As your real name is covered in layers of black ink and confidential files restricted to the higher-ups.
Note 2: The only defining factors, I will give you, are the following: Codename. As labelled. Height. You are not small. You are rather tall, at least six feet and four inches. Roughly the same height as Ghost. Your voice is also quite deep, for reasons you can come up with yourself. As no answer is wrong or right. Might make an oc version sometime.
Note 3: I suggest listening to Moon Shadow by Cat Stevens when you read this.
Summary: “I don’t see you the same way anymore. I don’t respect cheaters, no matter the reason you might have had. You ruined this home by yourself.”
Boomer grew up on a farm in the Australian outback. Her father is an Australian Commando. Thus, she didn't see him nearly as often as her mother, who happened to cheat on her father while he was deployed. Her excuse was the lack of affection making her cheat with his older brother, Marcus. The CEO of a tech company he started up in America.
“I don’t see you the same way anymore. I don’t respect cheaters, no matter the reason you might have had. You ruined this home by yourself.” Boomer told her mother once her father came back on leave. He was immediately told by her.
Boomer decided to stay with her father, even though the divorce, and she hadn’t spoken to her mother since the end of the divorce had taken place. Her father, even though heart broken about the affair and the eventual divorce, he tried to keep a positive attitude through it all. Boomer saw right through quite often.
Pulling things apart, fixing them regardless of what it was, became Boomer's silent mantra as she grew older, mirroring the tireless work ethic of her father.
The farm grew quiet without her mother's laughter, but it grew stronger with the echoes of her father's footsteps and the occasional clank of tools as he taught her the ropes of being a true Australian commando.
She took to the training like a natural, her determination fuelled by the anger she felt towards her mother's betrayal. Each push-up, each mile run, every target hit, was a declaration of her loyalty to the truth and the man who never abandoned her.
“I don’t want to become my mother and cheat on any potential spouse, man or woman.” Boomer, adamant in wanting to be reliable regardless of any circumstances she would encounter in her life.
Her father often came home to small things fixed like the broken tractor, a leaky sink, and even a few upgrades to the farm’s security system.
Even reading into carpentry DIY projects like the bee aviaries she built from scratch. Her dedication to self-reliance grew, and so did her skills, a silent promise to never become what her mother was.
Her aunt, Alyssa, came over a few times a month to keep the house from going up in flames. Boomer showed her all the DIY things she made, often wanting to rescue bees from abandoned areas, unwanted areas and sometimes even from people’s backyards.
Her father had a slight smirk on his face when she brought home her first queen bee, a rare breed she had found in the forest. He knew she had her mother’s charm and beauty, but he was proud she had chosen a path of honesty and reliability.
Alyssa’s work as a beekeeper rehoming bees from areas where they aren’t wanted became an unexpected bonding point for Boomer. Her aunt’s gentle nature with the creatures and the way she spoke about them as if they were soldiers in a grand army, protecting the future of the planet, sparked a fascination within Boomer.
She began to see the world through a different lens, one that valued every creature’s contribution, and the delicate balance that needed to be maintained.
Her father noticed the change in her, the way she had found peace in the buzzing of the bees and the precision of their movements. He knew this was something more than just a phase; it was a piece of her soul finding its place in the world.
The farm grew not only in crops but in life as well, with more bees thriving under Alyssa’s guidance and Boomer’s care. It became a sanctuary for those who needed a second chance, a reflection of Boomer’s own spirit.
Boomer took the bee’s safety and health seriously, researching how to take care of the bees better and what ways to keep them happy as well as healthy.
Setting up a mini lab to study the bees in their natural environment without disrupting them became a weekend routine. The bees had become more than just a hobby; they were her silent companions, a symbol of her resilience and unyielding spirit.
One thing her father noticed was the ebony wood varnish on the bee aviaries, making them look more like a piece of art rather than a simple shelter for bees.
He knew his daughter had a creative side to her, but he never knew it would be expressed in such a way. Her creations weren’t just functional, but aesthetically pleasing, a reflection of her respect and admiration for the bees.
Each aviary was named after a character from an X-Men comic she loved as a child. She had found solace in their stories, in their struggle for acceptance and fighting for what they believed in despite their differences.
Her favourite, the Wolverine aviary, housed the most aggressive bees, which she found quite fitting. Each name was engraved in a small brass plate at the entrance, adding a touch of whimsy to the otherwise utilitarian structures.
She would then sell the honey on the farmer’s market for her pocket money. As she grew older, her love for bees remained as she got more invested in the military. She enlisted at seventeen, she told her father she wanted to because it felt like it was the right thing to do.
“I’ll give it my best shot, I promise.” Boomer pinky swore, her eyes gleaming with excitement and determination as she held her father’s hand tightly. His calloused grip returned the gesture, a silent promise of support and belief in her.
Her expertise in heavy weaponry like heavy machine guns, grenade launchers, rocket launchers, miniguns, anti-material rifles, and even the rare use of the Predator drone grew from her time in the military. She had always been a good shot, something her father had noticed when they used to go hunting together back in the outback.
Boomer dove into electrical engineering, electrical technology, nanotechnology and even robotics. During her military training, it was an eye-opener to an even bigger world. A world she is more than a little keen on learning more about day by day. Even reading more about in her downtime.
Growing up, her pets were bees and the blue Merle Shetland Sheepdogs that her aunt brought with her, which grew into a small pack over the years. They became her loyal companions, protecting the farm and the bees from predators. The dogs had an uncanny sense of when Boomer was upset, and they’d often sit by her side, offering comfort with their soft, warm presence. Her father named her first dog, Blue, after her mother’s favourite colour, hoping it would bring some peace to their lives.
Other than beekeeping and pulling things apart. The extracurricular activities she got into before she turned seventeen were gymnastics and ice skating.
Gymnastics was a way to keep her body in tip-top shape, she was always a fast learner and had a knack for acrobatics. The strength and flexibility it gave her were surprisingly useful in the field, allowing her to navigate tight spaces and pull off stunts most wouldn’t dare.
Ice skating, on the other hand, was her escape. The cool rush of the wind against her face, the sound of the blades cutting through the ice, it was her silent battlefield where she faced and conquered her inner demons, pushing herself beyond her limits.
Boomer, at sixteen years old, rescued a nine-month-old blind cat on the way home from school once, her father saw her with it. She was determined to care for the blind cat and named her, Shadow. The cat's full name is Moon Shadow. Naming it after the song Moon Shadow by Cat Stevens.
One of her father’s favourite songs. Thus, it became one of her many favourite songs as well. A classic ‘60s song amongst the many she would listen to on repeat. She listened to it when she got ready for bed, even after he passed months after her 24th birthday.
Her father’s death was a blow she never saw coming. A heart attack in his sleep, the doctor’s said it was peaceful. But for Boomer, it was anything but peaceful.
Her entire world had crumbled around her. The one constant, the one person she had always relied on, was no longer there.
It took a while to mourn her father, taking on many short term to keep herself from going off into the deep end. A distraction to keep her moving, both in mind, body and soul.
The farm remained her sanctuary, but now it was filled with the echoes of her father’s laughter, her aunt’s gentle guidance, and the ever-present hum of the bees.
She continued her military service with renewed vigor, channeling her grief into her work, seeking solace in the structure and discipline it provided.
Most of her dead dad jokes were made to help her cope with her father’s death. If he were around to hear them. He would most likely face palm himself. Followed by an even darker one in return.
“I loved my father. He’s got a darker sense of humour than I did and possibly ever have.” Boomer told her therapist. “I have my pet cats and my dogs. But I live on my own on the farm now.”
The therapist nodded, scribbling something down on her notepad. “How has that been for you?”
“Too quiet. I don’t particularly like the quiet as much as I used to. Maybe it was the fact I had other people around me?” Boomer answered, her voice filled with a tinge of sadness.
The therapist, Dr. Krovic, nodded thoughtfully. “It’s common to feel that way after a loss. The quiet can be deafening when you’re used to the noise of a loving home. Tell me, have you considered getting involved in any social activities? Maybe reconnecting with your mother?”
“If she wanted to, she would have made the effort ages ago.” Boomer replied.
The thought of her mother still brought a bitterness that lingered in the back of her throat. She knew the woman had moved on, living a life of luxury with her aunt’s husband, Marcus. It was a life that didn’t have room for her, not anymore.
Today, we're gonna continue on cars that shook the industry, broke all the rules of conventional racing, shocked everyone, even got a fearsome name itself and beat everyone it raced against and that's the "beast from Japan" aka Godzilla itself, the GTR but before we can begin, we'll have to talk about how the car came about since the very start and even discuss some of the missing "GTRs" that skipped the lines.
Pics from left to right, top to bottom in a zigzag pattern: PGC10 Skyline GTR -> KPGC10 -> KPGC110 "Kenmari" -> R30 RS -> Slight modified R31 RS -> BNR32 -> BNR33 -> BNR34 Nismo Z-Tune -> R35 GTR 2017 model
The Skyline model had been built by Prince Motor Company since the 1950s and was a successful passenger car but when the company was broke by 1966, Nissan bought down the company and merged it together with the main Nissan HQ. Nissan also wanted to race at the lower tier levels also instead of just the top flight. Just as they were planning it, Nissan had launched their now-Skyline line under the Nissan badge and they quickly began work to build a race-prepped model. By 1968, the work was done and the GTR name was thus born. Nissan would build a coupe 2dr variant with the code KPGC10 and the normal sedan variant, the PGC10 and both cars would be fitted with the same engine, the S20 2L inline-6 which makes 160hp. The car would eventually be nicknamed as "Hakosuka" where "Hako" means boxy in Japanese and "suka" is the abbreviation of "sukairain" which meant "skyline". Nissan would push the cars for racing and immediately, it was dominant across the early days of JGTC where it won 49 consecutive races it entered between 1968-1972 before its 50th streak was beaten by the introduction of the Mazda RX-3. Not only that, by 1972, the PGC10 had already raked a thousand wins in total which was very impressive and shocking at the same time.
Nissan would update the GTR lineup with the KPGC110 and now, would build the new GTR as a coupe only version and would sell it to the public in 1973. The engine is the same S20 unit of the Hakosuka but the car in general has some slight changes. Instead of the boxy coupe design, it now has a fastback look and the brakes also saw massive upgrades with disc brakes now on both front and back. The car was projected to do well and was even heavily advertised. The advert was soo famous that it featured a couple during it to Hokkaido for a holiday with the male named "Ken" and the woman named "Mary" thus the nickname for the KPGC110 being named as "Kenmari" came about. However, the car came at a very wrong time as just as it was being sold, the world was hit with the fuel crisis of 1973 and Nissan, for whatever reason, pulled the plug for the car's production very quickly which resulted in it only being produced for a year and only approx 130 units made, making it the rarest of rares for the GTRs.
Nissan would actually kill off the GTR name during the 70s and would not see light till the late 80s but then again, they would continue building sports models for the Skyline name. The 70s was a tumultuous time for the lineup as the model wasn't that great but things changed in the 80s with the R30. Nissan would make the R30 in 1981 and would launch the 2000GT model also but Nissan feeling that they needed to up the ante, they quickly made another new model under the codename as the RS and "DR30". The DR30 would have most of the unwanted stuff of the 2000GT removed but would use the very same engine, the 2L FJ20E inline-6 in the 2000GT which makes 160hp. Nissan felt that wasn't enough and immediately tossed a turbocharger onto the engine turning it into the FJ20ET which now makes 200hp in 1983. Nissan didn't see much victories for racing in Japan but it saw victories in Australia and would continuously win the Australian Touring Car Championship under the Group A rule from 1986-1988 and this became a spark that made Australians like the Skyline that much.
Nissan would once again update the R30 but not much to the R31 in 1985. What was different was that the R31 would be the birth of the now-legendary RB series engines starting with the RB20DE. Nissan would launch the GTS-R in 1986 with the RB20DET which is the turbo version of the NA RB20DE which now makes 220hp. Nissan would do better with the R31 in Japan this time, especially in the Super Taikyu series as the car in race trim now makes 425hp. Nissan would once again compete in Australia with it in the tail of the 1988 season where it would win its first race at the Sundown 500 and the whole championship in 1990.
Nissan would update the Skyline line to the R32 in 1989. This time, Nissan would bring back the GTR name from the grave and would build the car strictly for racing in mind and to dominate Group A racing. Initially, Nissan built the concept car with the stroked RB20DET from a 2L to 2.4L and adding another turbocharger which initially made 320hp. This move was made to maximize the powerband as Group A rule dictates that if a poweradder is added to the vehicle, it must multiply its displacement by 1.7x to compete in that class and that would put Nissan in at the 4L class. However, that would put the R32 on 10 inch tires and fearing that restriction would create grip issues, Nissan would decide to create a new AWD system for the car which was named as the ATTESA system. That would also pose as a problem as now, with the AWD system, the car was heavier by 100kg which would never be competitive thus to battle all the issues, Nissan would increase the final displacement to 2.6L to make the now-legendary RB26DETT which makes a "base" 280hp. Nissan would push the car straight into racing in 1990 and it immediately ate up everything it went against. It competed in the JGTC in Japan and swept the competition clean by winning all 29 races in the three years it competed in the JGTC series and would win 50 out of 50 races in the Super Taikyu series from 1992-1997. In Australia, the GTR was also dominating the ATCC and would dominate the toughest track of the calendar, the Barthurst 1000. It would dominate in the dry and most importantly, in the wets even on slicks which made it totally all too powerful. With 600hp to work with in race form, the car was totally unbeatable that the Australian motoring journalists would even coin the car as "Godzilla" as the car was way too broken to compete with that even with weight penalties imposed to slow the R32 down, it didn't do anything as it still ate up the competition and shamed other cars like the Porsche 911s and BMW E30 M3. The R32 was dominating soo bad that Group A touring car racing crumbled.
On the high of the R32, Nissan updated the GTR with the R33 in 1995 where the base recipe was the same but the chassis was lengthened to improve high speed stability and an update on the ATTESA system to improve grip and power delivery better. Despite being an improvement, many would instead complain about the car being heavier than it should be which was a fair point as the R32 weighs 1400kg whereas the R33 weighs 1550kg, 150kg more. Not only that, the extra weight and now the extra length have people complaining that it had became dull and lacked the cornering capability of the R32 which seem like a downgrade than an upgrade. Tuners, however, have a different view as they indeed find the car more stable with the longer wheelbase now and it became a staple car for tuners who wanna go fast on straights like people from the Midnight Club would favour the R33 more than any other domestic vehicles. Not only that, despite being heavier and longer, it proved that the capabilities on the corners are no slouch either as it broke the 8min mark on the Nurburgring with a 7min 58sec, a then record for production car in 1995. Nissan would also attempt to take the R33 to race in Le Mans after both their Group A and Group C efforts went up in smoke thus Nissan crammed a modified R33 as the R33 GTR LM to compete in the GT1 class. The car was boosted all the way to 400hp and increased its displacement to 2.8L to turn it to the RB28 unit and due to regulations, had the front diffs removed to make it into RWD thus keeping the car at a weight of 1100kg. Nissan would homologate the car and kept the only one road-going GTR LM at the factory museum. The car would go racing in 1995 but didn't perform particularly well and by 1996, Nissan decided to give up as others had discovered the loophole of the game and exploited it, especially Porsche with their 911 GT1.
Following that, Nissan would update the Skyline GTR again with the R34 now in place in 1999. With feedback from customers and also from journalists about the R33, Nissan would shorten the car yet again to the length nearer to the R32 and once again beef up the engine with newer turbo setup and an update of the ATTESA system yet again. A 6spd gearbox would also be the new standard and unlike the other two versions before the R34 which uses cluster gauges to display boost pressure and engine temp stuff, the R34 would be the first in its line to have a LCD center screen that would display the info. One thing special about the R34 was its trickery. During the 90s as production methods and tech kept improving, cars were getting faster and quicker. To combat each other in open markets by increasing horsepowers would destroy the Japanese car manufacturing business real quick thus all companies would soon have a mutual agreement which they called as the "gentleman's agreement" where they would keep their hp figures all at a "max 280hp". However, some companies would slyly breach the agreement by declaring it on paper as 280hp but actually having more with the actual car. One such vehicle was the A80 Mk 4 Toyota Supra and the R34 GTR. Thing is.. While the Supra was dynoed to make 320hp with the 2JZ-GTE at times, the R34 GTR when dynoed by customers often finding the R34 to produce 330-360hp when new. The car would perform well on the racetracks and not only that, it became a car that many people want due to their showings in early racing games like Gran Turismo, NFS Hot Pursuit and Underground. The car being a part of the Fast and Furious series also helped with the notoriety of the vehicle into cult and legendary status now. In 2002, at the end of its production life, Nissan decided to send it off with a bang. They got their in-house tuner, NISMO, to build a limited run unit from the R34 and what NISMO did was a straight beast. The 2.8L RB28DETT showed up again and this time it made 500hp, the highest hp vehicle during that period from any manufacturer. Nissan would call the car the Z-Tune package and with the RB28DETT, it would launch the car with a 0-62mph/0-100kmh time of 3.8sec and a top speed of 327kmh/203mph, making it the fastest production car Japan has produced at that time. Nissan would eventually build 19 of the Z-Tune R34 and the whole Skyline GTR line would also die out in 2003.
With the death of the Skyline GTR, Nissan decided to build the new GTR on its separate platform and the engineers got to work. Nissan was also facing some form of financial issues by the end of the 90s and knowing that the Skyline GTR line was ending, the then-new CEO of Nissan, Carlos Ghosn would hedge all the bets on the "new GTR" to revive the company and as any betting man knows, to win a large bet, money had to be used for the bet and Nissan splurged all on R&B to make a car that can literally beat the world. The car would begin work in 2000. Thru the years of development, Nissan would bring in engineers from multiple countries to perfect the car. Supplies would be used from all over the world also instead of creating everything in-house from working with Bilstein to engineer the suspension system to getting Lotus to balance and taper the car for rigidity. Not only that, Nissan would develop the car with tons of new tech that were revolutionary to the car industry at that time with things like a launch control system and dual-clutch gearbox system which was at that point only seen being used by Porsche. To complement the tech, Nissan also decided to go all out that they'll build a special department on the plant floor to specially hand-build each engine and from the ideology, they designed the VR38DETT, a 3.8L V6 with twin-turbos. The ATTESA system would also be massively upgraded and the completed car would be sold to the public in 2007. The car would have a hp figure of 475hp from the factory and immediately, the car would prove what it could do and promised what it would deliver. During its test run at the Nurburgring in mid 2007, Nissan would pitch the car against the Porsche 997 Turbo S and journalists that was on the same ground would praise the GTR to be a better vehicle to drive daily than the Porsche and not only that, was extremely quick and fast on the straights and the corners but not scary to drive. Nissan would then do a demonstration lap and would claim the fastest production vehicle lap record with a 7min 58sec, a full unpresidented time that was never seen before and to send a slap to everyone's faces, it did that record in poor, damp conditions. The GTR would also do a 0-62mph time of 3.8sec. Not only was it quick, the GTR could also do it constantly. The GTR would also go on and beat almost every sports car and supercar built during that time that left Porsche, Ferrari and Lamborghini all scratching their heads. Unlike the Skyline GTR where it would see limited sales overseas and only focus mainly in Japan, the GTR would now see global sales and for the first time ever, sale in the US. Not only that, Nissan would once again give the other manufacturers the coupe de grace and that's the sale price of the Nissan GTR. When launched, Nissan would sell the car for 75-85,000 USD whereas a contemporary Lamborghini Gallardo costs approx 115,000 USD where the Nissan was fraction of the price, more reliable and cheaper per performance offered. Nissan would constantly upgrade the horsepower figure of the GTR till by the end of its production period in 2025 to a hp figure of 595hp.
Nissan, who was just a normal car manufacturing company in Japan would build a literal beast just to smash everyone's faces and they did it once but twice is incredible. The GTRs would be beast of all beasts when it comes to cars.
Sumire is my favorire character, whatever her metaverse costume to me always felt a leftover from when she was suppose the FEMC instead of her own character.
Weirdly enough, it fit her character, subconsciously copying Joker as much she is copying her sister, whatever, i *really* wished she had a design upgrade once she finds her real identity.
What i did here was to "remove" the Joker out of her costume but keep what makes Violet, well, Violet. I keept the leotard, mask and jacket, but changed it to give it a sort of princess/tutu shiluette but still allowing her to move her legs as much she needs without being costricted by a real skirt.
I also changed the palette to make both fit her codename and be more similar to Cendrillon's
What are your thoughts on squire? The second squire and current knight is my favorite superhero ever and it drives me crazy how often shes ignored especially by batman family specific articles and fictionalized retellings. I'd love to hear your thoughts on her and her knight, especially their time in the ultramarines, and their interactions with the larger superhero community, in britain and in other countries
I mean the opening line is the same whenever anyone asks me what I "think" of any superhero. I respect the hell out of anybody who puts themselves at risk for others in the way heroes do, I wish them nothing but luck and good health in their every endeavor and I proudly stand behind them and their legacy in particular and the additions they make to the superhero community in general.
ALSO I'm pretty sure that if I said about word about Knight and Squire I would be very roughly glassed the next time someone of English stock came across me and as I've said before I live in New York.
That being said!
(A photograph of the 2nd Knight and 3rd Squire published by the Sunday Times)
The Knight and Squire is not a story of two, but indeed of 3.
The original Knight actually got his start using the name Squire, inspired by a rescue at the hands of the Shining Knight the original Squire became a founding member of the Young Allies serving alongside his fellows across various fronts in the second World War. He took something of a leadership role in that ragtag group and marked himself out as someone truly special after the war when he graduated into the role of The Knight.
After the war, the Knight was one of the leading voices, alongside Dr Mist and his Young Allies comrades that called for an international organization to be founded to further hone and support superheroes as they appeared around the world. Tentatively named the "Club of Heroes" and operating under a initially secretive UN project called The Dome, the Knight helped to hone and forge what would become the Global Guardians joining as the team's first English member.
It would be later in his career he would take on an apprentice of his own, using his own former codename Squire. We do know from pretty extensive observation that the 2nd Squire was the Knight's son, biological or not is immaterial. The two of them would become the center of Britain's wide and deep heroic community facing off against criminals of every shape and size especially the duo's nemesis Spring-Heeled Jack.
It would be that demonic demagogue who would, in their final confrontation, claim the life of the first Knight. A massive explosion leaving the hero dead but his son and sidekick unharmed. One can only imagine that the chivalrous hero wouldn't have had it any other way.
The former Squire, now the 2nd Knight, despite and upgrade to a high tech suit of armor inspired by the Batman who was making waves across the pond did not start out his career on a good foot. Understandably traumatized by the death of his father, and hammered by an overwhelming sense of survivor's guilt the 2nd Knight fell into endless cyclical benders of drugs and alcohol leaving what had once been England's proudest champions as a sad, pitiable joke just waiting for one drink too many to be his last.
That was, until he stumbled upon a girl. We obviously don't know who, or how. But this sardonic redhead, like many sidekicks before her, anchored and uplifted the hero she was attached to and soon, despite the gripes of an incredulous public the Knight and Squire were back in top form not just as the heroes of their home nation either.
During the 2nd Knight's strung out period, the heroic title of England within the Global Guardians was handed to the now equally respected heroine Godiva. So instead the Knight and Squire joined a nascent group calling itself the Ultramarine Corps (the short lived team would require a story in themselves) but it just further showed the two working in full sync the world over. They were also recruited into the nebulous organization called "Batman Incorporated", a team of vigilantes inspired by or modelling from the Batman of Gotham.
It was during his work with this group that the 2nd Knight would ultimately lose his life in a knock down, drag out, multi hour battle against the masked terrorist known as The Heretic. The entirety of Batman Incorporated, doing their best to keep the Heretic away from the trigger of a powerful explosive device was beaten down one after another but, as stated by his comrades who were there, the Knight continued to rise. Again, and again and again he struck at The Heretic even as his armor was shattered off his body and he was left a bloody wreck.
Eventually, distracted by a seemingly fatal injury to his young Squire, the Knight resuscitated his sidekick and was caught off guard by his opponent. Leaving his ward with the final words "You made me believe I could do anything. Don't let them win." his neck was broken and the 2nd Knight was left dead at the scene. The Squire, taking advantage of the Heretic's exhaustion was able to put out his right eye with a single shot, a debilitating injury that eventually lead to the Heretic's final defeat.
It would be...and understatement to say the world, and England herself was left in a state of shock. Despite the quick turn around of the state funeral, only 4 days between the 2nd Knight's death and his burial. Hundreds of thousands lined the streets of London to see his armor carried to its final resting place by horse drawn carriage (the man's body, of course, was not buried publically but returned quietly to those that loved him behind the mask) Heroic comrades, heads of state, even former enemies made themselves visible not only to the live crowd but to the millions who watched the procession from around the world.
Heroes as diverse as Godiva, Dr. Mist and the Batman himself spoke at the Knight's funeral but the words spoken by his Squire rang out as both promise and warning to those who imagined for a moment that Blighty's streets might ever go undefended.
"They haven't beaten us yet."
Some weeks later the 3rd Knight appeared in full regalia, the 3rd Squire stepping not only into the legacy that her mentor left behind but also her birthright if anyone could be considered to have been progeny of the 2nd Knight. She has slotted directly into the shadow her mentor left behind, taking not only a role but seemingly a leadership position within Batman Inc.
Her career is yet young, however no one expects her to falter. Indeed England, Britain, the world are rooting for her to hold aloft Britain's banner for the whole world to see as any Knight might do.
3D2Y Where Law wants nothing more then to stay with Luffy but knows he has no reason too, until he is given one.
Luffy trains every day, he is determined to get stronger, to protect his friends no matter what. Taking out the pain of Ace's death on something he can control.
Law sees his determination and feels as though he is wasting time by just sitting there. He needs to do something. He needs to leave. Only Luffy's presence that he has gotten so accustomed to is making him hesitate. He has not been this comfortable with anyone outside his crew in a long time. The warmth of an enthusiastic hug. The feeling of Luffy's curls brushing over his cheeks as he towers over Law from behind, calloused hand resting on his shoulders.
Luffy taking the time in the few minutes Rayleigh gives him a break to always track down Law and check on him, even if his training is on the other side of the island. This only makes it harder to leave.
Law sighs as he watches Luffy leave for the next round. It's almost lunchtime, if Luffy doesn't fail in today's exercise, he will drag Law to have some food. It will only make Law come up with more reasons to stay another day. He gets up before he starts thinking about those reasons. "Time to go, kikoku"
It seems to vibrate as it senses that they will be back to drawing blood soon. The pain that comes with her curse thrums under his skin, a familiar dull ache that reminds him of his goals. That pain always helps remind him that he is still alive and has to keep going.
"Leaving now is foolish, Trafalgar Law."
Shakky, the previous queen of Amazon Lily. The one who made their safety and Luffy's training possible taps her cigarette, sending ashes dropping down into the sand.
"I have wasted enough time here," he rests Kikoku on his back. "I have a goal that can't wait."
"Strawhat will leave you behind"
Law tenses. He knows that she means in terms of power. That once this training is done, he will be a force most can't defeat. Law never cared about that. What made him tense is that Luffy would leave him behind as a person, that he would never feel his warm touch ever again.
Shakky smirks, immediately more interested in his reactions, glancing over at her husband instructing the boy. She remembers when Rayleigh first came to train on Amazon Lily's adjacent islands as a young man. She looked at him much the same way as Law is looking at Luffy now. "Do you have a plan?" Shakky takes a puff of her thin pipe. "How much do you know about the web of Doflamingo's influence?"
Law bites his bottom lip. He never told anyone his goal. Her information network could rival Doffy's. With the family's love for codenames. Law avoided anyone discovering his past. Yet here she is, knowing seemingly everything with that confident look in her eyes that hints at decades of experience beyond what Law can even fathom.
"Stay, train with the boy." Shakky nods towards Luffy, who is sprawled out on the ground, trying to catch his breath before the next attack that will come too soon. "It will only help you"
Law can't deny she is right. Training with the generation that once achieved everything they strived for will only make them stronger, but Law is a doctor first. That is how his power works. The skills that Rayleigh can teach him are not what he needs.
Shakky senses his hesitation. "The Kuja have a history of medicine, poison, and poultice that can kill or paralyze a man." She can see that is enough to catch his attention. "Thousands of texts in the studies of blood and the mortal body." She takes a step closer, leaning in to whisper in his ear. "They do not allow men, but I could make an exception for you, kid."
Law takes a deep breath. This is access to texts he has never read. It could even have info on his fruit. The discoveries he could make would easily upgrade his power. If he refuses, he will not get another chance. Yet it also means he is wasting two years of his life, the time he could be using to go after Doflamingo. His thirst for knowledge wins out as it does every time. "Fine, I'll stay" he sighs, hoping that he will not regret those words.
"Really?!" Luffy jumps up from his sprawled position. "Traffy, that's great --- ow!"
"Great use of observation haki," Rayleigh chuckles, tapping the stick on his shoulders. "Next time, use it on not getting hit"
"Didn't have to hit me that hard," Luffy rubs at the sore spot. He turns back towards Law with a wide grin. "Let's train really hard together, Traffy! Shishishi"
Law feels a blush on his cheeks. He can't deny that a large part of him is staying for Luffy and the hope of seeing that smile every day for the next two years
-end-
Aka how Law goes from a skinny little gremlin that has never had a good meal ever to getting enough to bulk from just being near Luffy who shares everything he hunts with Law while he has his nose in a book 24/7 and slowly they fall in love with each other in new domestic ways.
Shakky and Rayleigh gossip about the young love that is blooming before their eyes as they train their respective boi xd
so, I haven't started GFL2, never played Project Neural Cloud, and fell way behind on the actual story of GFL1. seeing Wa with a name surprised me just now. is there an in-universe reason for the girls having actual names now?
T-Dolls, standing for "Tactical Dolls", are, by definition, AI piloted androids with an incredibly complex Neural Cloud on board. This is important to note because "Doll" in modern times in the setting imply the existence of said Neural Cloud, whereas simpler machines are designated universally as just droids, automatons, robots, etc. The T part is also important to note, as the Tactical implies the presence of a fire control core, which is what lets them use firearms proficiently.
Now, why am I explaining this? Because a lot of T-Dolls were just C-Dolls (or Civilian Dolls) or otherwise non-combat purpose Dolls, repurposed for combat via installation of the fire control system. For example, MDR's actual name is Kuro, and she was a streamer Doll manufactured by a multimedia agency to break into the streaming business. Eventually, she's repurposed into a T-Doll and officially assigned the name MDR as per her weapon in Griffin & Kryuger, but that's more akin to a codename than her actual name. She has always had the name "Kuro" first and foremost. An opposite case is Mosin-Nagant, whose name IS straight up just Mosin-Nagant, that's what her identity is.
So, it really depends on the Doll in question. Some military-purpose dolls like M4A1 are just straight up named M4A1, some of them undertake new names, the way UMP45 assumed the name Lenna, some had civilian names before having their weapon codenames, and so on, but, the point is, GFL2 makes a point of speaking of the freedom Dolls have, which for a lot of them means going by name and not codename/weapon name any longer; Mosin-Nagant is a special case because her Neural Upgrade story in GFL1 is about how much she lowkey disliked her eponymous weapon, and learning to find pride in it, and after finding it, there's really no going back for her, it's quite literally tied to her identity as a person by now.
Neural Cloud (the game) in particular lets you see a lot of Dolls -- male and female -- before becoming T-Dolls, such as Kuro (MDR) and Florence (PA-15), going by their name as they naturally haven't 'become' their weapon yet, as the game is a prequel of sorts.
Regular Army and Division 6 Machines
The SV-000 is a gunmetal grey tankette, serving as a prototype version of the SV-001, which briefly saw action during the Arms Deal Barrage. It was the first Slug to be successfully constructed from salvaged Tuatha Dé Danann technology, a design approach that would later become a hallmark of other Slugs, including the Slug Gunner, Drill Slug, and Astro Slug. It also set the precedent for all Slugs that it can perform a highly damaging suicide attack called a Frontal Attack, which involves the driver jumping out of the vehicle, and it subsequently exploding upon impact with the enemy. However, it was quickly discontinued due to a critical design flaw: the hatch became extremely difficult to exit when the unit sustained sufficient damage to trigger self-destruction.
The remaining SV-000 units were either destroyed and repurposed for the development of the SV-001 or had their source code stolen by the Amadeus Syndicate, who stored it in their secure cyberspace vault. Only one SV-000 is confirmed to still exist and remain operational, and it's currently in the possession of Red Eye. Notably, unlike its successor, the SV-000 could rapidly change direction with minimal delay.
The SV-001 Metal Slug is a silver tankette and the first fully functional Super Vehicle developed by the Regular Army, following the discontinuation of the SV-000. They were swiftly mass produced after the sudden Rebel Army attack on President Marx's defence facility, stockpiling the advanced tanks in their caches with hopes to launch a massive assault against the mysterious Rebels once the time came. During the Great Morden War, the Rebel Army launched a massive global assault on the Regular Army. Despite prior warnings from the Intelligence Agency, corrupt higher-ups within the Regular Army's chain of command ignored the alerts, leaving their forces vulnerable to the Rebel Army's superior numbers and advanced technologies.
In response, the Regular Army planned a massive counterattack, deploying advanced tanks codenamed “Metal Slug”. These tanks were originally designed to support regular army soldiers and special forces operatives, particularly in high-intensity combat situations. However, Rebel spies discovered the project, and many SV-001s were captured during a crushing attack. With many government and military powers in disarray, the surviving members of the Regular Army high command and Lieutenant Marco Rossi assembled a team consisting of Tarma Roving, Tequila, Gimlet, Red Eye, and scattered Regular troops they could muster to launch a desperate counterattack. Their mission was to retrieve the stolen Metal Slugs, destroying them if necessary to prevent the Rebel Army from utilising them. Fortunately, enough tanks were recovered for use in the final assault, ultimately leading to the end of the Great Morden War.
The SV-001 continued to serve the Regular Army in various major conflicts, including the White Baby Crisis and the Martian Takeover. While the tank boasts impressive technical details, its design has two significant flaws: its height and top-heavy weight distribution, which can cause it to tip over, especially when firing the 127mm low-pressure rifled main cannon. Additionally, the tank's high radar cross-section makes it vulnerable to high-speed guided missiles. Rumours suggest that some individuals received SV-001s with a faulty hatch mechanism. This defect reportedly made it challenging for operators to exit the vehicle quickly after initiating its suicide attack mode, commonly referred to as a "Frontal Attack". It relies on gas to remain operational and is capable of firing two types of ammunition: high-velocity Armor Piercer (AP) shells that travel in a straight line, and standard Gnome Bullets, which are low-velocity, arcing shells.
The SV-001 Type-R is an upgraded version of the SV-001, boasting faster movement and higher jumping capabilities than its predecessor. It retains the unique capabilities of the SV-000 and draws design inspiration from the elusive SV-002 project, which was scrapped by the Regular Army engineers and higher-ups. The SV-001 Type-R is often mistaken for the SV-002 because it's considered the closest successor to the original SV-001 that the Regular Army is willing to invest time and resources into.
It features a pair of gun pods, replacing the original 12.6mm Vulcans. Each pod is equipped with a high-speed machine gun and a rocket launcher. The machine guns support various ammunition types, including standard rounds, Shotgun shells, and Flame Shot fuel. Additionally, the main cannon has a smaller bore, allowing for extended range and increased accuracy. The shells fired from the SV-001 Type-R's cannon travel farther and with greater precision than the 127mm high-explosive shells used in the original. However, these advanced features come at a higher production cost, making the SV-001 Type-R a rare sight compared to standard tanks.
The SVW-001 Slug Gunner represents the ultimate evolution of the SV-001. Developed by Regular Army engineers, its design was influenced by the Rebel Army's LV Armor blueprints, which were stolen during the White Baby Crisis, as well as firsthand observations of the Ptolemaic Army's Units during the Martian Takeover. It boasts a unique transformative capability, switching between mech and tank forms. Its arsenal includes a massive 180mm cannon, a 60mm 7-barrel minigun, and a jet booster that enables high jumps and double jumps. Additionally, The Slug Gunner features a pile bunker for close-quarters combat, utilising a revolver-like mechanism with six cartridges to amplify its blows.
While it excels in firepower, its mobility is hindered by a cumbersome design. In mech mode, it moves at an extremely slow pace, although crawling slightly improves its speed. The minigun's range of motion is also limited, restricting it to firing in the direction the Slug Gunner is facing or directly above. However, the minigun can spread its shots to partially compensate for its inability to fire diagonally.
The SVX-15D Slugnoid is a bipedal mechanized Super Vehicle designed for combat in challenging terrain, developed by Regular Army engineers. Equipped with rocket boosters, it can jump to exceptional heights. Its primary armament consists of two 12.6mm Vulcans attached to each side, capable of rotating 360° and firing in different directions simultaneously, although mastering this capability requires practice. The secondary weapon is an incendiary shell fired from its frontal 120mm cannon, located in the pelvic area, which excels at decimating enemy troops. However, the Slugnoid is slow, cumbersome, and loses control whenever one of its Vulcan cannons gets hit.
As secondary ammunition, most Slugnoids carry alternate versions of the iron lizard bombs, humorously nicknamed "fat lizards". These devices resemble bipedal, white cartoon bombs with legs and charge towards enemies, occasionally pausing to "catch their breath" before resuming their attack. They may also randomly trip and explode prematurely.
There are several Slugnoid variants: Slugnoid Type-CS, Slugnoid Type-R, and Slugnoid Type-B. The Slugnoid Type-CS is a bronze-painted version with weak armour, used exclusively for Combat School training to teach cadets and recruits how to operate the Slugnoid with minimal damage. The Slugnoid Type-R is a red-painted version with a reverse-functioning Vulcan, equipped only with fat lizard bombs. The Slugnoid Type-B is a blue-painted version with enhanced jumping capabilities compared to the standard model.
The Slug Trolley, also referred to as the Slug Truck, is a specialised vehicle developed by the Regular Army for rail-based operations. Essentially a customised mine cart, it is equipped with a Vulcan gun for defensive purposes. One of its notable features is the ability to attach additional wagons, which are capable of firing cannon rounds that travel in an arc. However, these wagons have weaker armour compared to the main cart, making them more vulnerable to enemy fire. The main cart has an open, windowless compartment that allows the operator to observe their surroundings. Operators must remain vigilant because the open design makes them susceptible to enemy attacks, particularly from snipers.
The Metal Claw, also known as the Metal Crow, is a light tank destroyer vehicle that resembles the T-2B Melty Honey but is painted a deep metallic blue. The pilot controls the vehicle from within but doesn't have the option to be exposed. It's designed to move alongside other tanks and provide supporting fire. It features the same spiked plate for protection and missile launcher as the Melty Honey, along with the Vulcan cannons from the Metal Slug. Additionally, the missile launcher has the capability to fire shotgun shells. It was created by the Amadeus Syndicate shortly after their newly formed alliance with the Regular Army, serving as a gift to symbolise their newfound allegiance. The Rebel Army later used the Metal Claw as design inspiration for the T-2B Melty Honey, enhancing its armour since the original had relatively weak protection.
The SV-Camel is an animal-based vehicle that offers its rider some protection in the form of a fruit-filled basket. It's also the first known vehicle in the “Animal Ride" series of Slugs. Developed by Regular Army engineers following the Great Modern War, its purpose was to reduce dependence on the SV-001. From their perspective, utilising animals provided a stealth advantage on the battlefield. The dromedary camel boasts impressive speed and is equipped with two 14mm Vulcan cannons. The SV-Camel is primarily deployed in desert environments.
The Elephant Slug is an animal-based vehicle and the second known animal used in the “Animal Ride" series of Slugs. Although it's very slow and can only jump to a very short height, it provides its rider with a high profile, offering some protection. It's equipped with a pair of 16mm Vulcans, but its genetic modification for combat enables it to access additional firepower. By consuming chili peppers or a car battery, the African elephant gains the ability to breathe fire or shoot lightning from its proboscis. The Elephant Slug is primarily deployed in cold and tropical environments.
The Ostrich Slug is an animal-based vehicle that lacks visible protection. It's the second known vehicle in the “Animal Ride" series of Slugs, closely tied to the Donkey Slug. It's a genetically modified common ostrich with enhanced speed and jumping capabilities, allowing it to effortlessly clear large chasms. It comes equipped with a pair of 12.6mm Vulcans, which have a limited firing arc of 180°.
The Donkey Slug is an animal-based vehicle with a lack of visible protection. Essentially a miniature donkey with 13mm Vulcan cannons attached to its sides, it's characterised by its slow movement and weak jump. A wooden carriage with a cannon mounted on top can be hitched to the Vulcan cannons. This cannon functions similarly to those on an SV-001. The Donkey Slug is primarily used in underdeveloped countries, particularly those relying on donkeys for transportation and agricultural purposes.
The SVX-22UG Drill Slug is a specialised drilling machine designed for tunnel excavation, developed shortly after the successful deployment of the Slug Digger during the Invader Conquest. For defence, the drill is equipped with 12.6mm Vulcans for long-range engagements. In close combat, an expendable 400mm heavy-duty bore drill on the chassis automatically activates when contacted. Although it's relatively slow and unable to jump, its ability to elevate the cockpit provides a higher profile and helps evade incoming fire from below. However, operators must remain cautious because the Drill Slug remains vulnerable to certain attacks, such as acid and explosives.
The Protogunner is a prototype of the Slug Gunner, developed for testing purposes and briefly deployed during the Invader Conquest before being swiftly discontinued. Regular Army engineers created the Protogunner using the Rebel Army's LV Armor schematics as a starting point for designing a new Super Vehicle. This prototype would eventually evolve into the Slug Gunner before the events of the Ptolemaic Emergence. Initially designated as the SVW-001 Slug Gunner Prototype, its lengthy name led many to adopt the simplified codename "Protogunner" for convenience.
Due to its prototype status, it offers limited protection to its operator, leaving them vulnerable to attacks from above and the sides. Additionally, it lacks a melee attack, relying solely on its ranged weaponry. However, the Protogunner boasts superior speed and maneuverability compared to the finalised Slug Gunner's mech mode. It's equipped with the Slug Gunner's 180mm multiple cannon on its front, supplemented by a pair of 10mm Vulcan cannons on its sides. Although its body has partial invincibility, it remains susceptible to destruction by anti-tank ammunition and explosions. A notable feature of this Super Vehicle is its ability to perform an automatic Vulcan Fix, locking its side-mounted Vulcans in place. This allows the operator to move the Protogunner while continuously firing without adjusting the Vulcans.
The Slug Digger is a versatile, multi-purpose vehicle that serves as both a subterranean digger and a helicopter. Rapidly developed by the Regular Army and Rebel Army, its primary objective was to infiltrate the Invaders' underground hive. The Slug Digger features retractable drills on its left, right, and bottom sides, enabling it to excavate the earth. Additionally, it's equipped with two 16mm Vulcan cannons that can fire bullets capable of tearing through dirt. Notably, its cannon shots deploy mines that remain in place until triggered by enemy contact or subsequent gunfire.
The Walking Machine is a crawling Slug designed for exploration purposes, originally derived from a haunted amusement park animatronic resembling a humanoid, quadruped zombie. It was redesigned to mimic the appearance of the Mutated Soldier, but with distinct features such as a rotating light on top of its head, a muscular build, and an exposed battery on its back. The operator rides astride the Walking Machine, holding onto reins connected to its cheeks. Its lower profile provides some degree of evasion, and it can jump higher than most Slugs.
There are two variants of the Walking Machine: the Special Walking Machine and Walk Machine Type-B. The Special Walking Machine is a sleeker variant with a different head design and horns serving as handles. Notably, its pair of 14mm Vulcans has been replaced by a Gatling gun inside its mouth. The Walk Machine Type-B is an unmanned, red version of the Special Walking Machine, designed for underground exploration. Although heavily armoured, it relies on a Mobile Satellite deployed from a hatch on its back and a flamethrower inside its mouth. Additionally, it boasts an impressive jumping ability, surpassing that of its predecessors.
The RA-TTT (Regular Army Troop Transport Truck), also referred to as the Regular Army Truck, is a transport vehicle utilised by the Regular Army for deploying troops to the battlefield. Initially, the vehicle featured a simple rifle green colour scheme, but it was later updated with a camouflage woodland pattern prior to the events of the Martian Takeover.
The TIAF600 Slug Mobile, also known as the Wagon Slug and Metal Express, is a modified version of the TIAF 660, a popular civilian vehicle renowned for its compact design. During the conflict in Gerhardt City, the Rebel Army utilised numerous TIAF 660s as road barriers due to their widespread availability. The Regular Army soon took notice and salvaged several TIAF 660s shortly after capturing General Morden to revamp the model for their own purposes. Initially, engineers aimed to transform the TIAF 600s into a heavily armoured transport vehicle with advanced weaponry. However, they were instructed to retain the original design and instead equip it with 14mm Vulcans on the sides and an RPG. Due to time constraints, the engineers had to work quickly, and the resulting vehicle was codenamed the "Slug Mobile".
It boasts impressive speed and jumping capabilities, performing well on roads but struggling with off-road handling. Its Vulcan cannons provide effective defence against aircraft, while the guided RPG under the front hood offers some anti-armour defence. However, the hastily implemented upgrades, particularly the Vulcan's ammo and boosting system, have increased the vehicle's risk of catching fire.
The SVF-07V Slug Flyer is a Super Vehicle designed for aerial combat, developed by Regular Army engineers. Its VTOL capabilities provide excellent maneuverability. However, its H-AV-5963 Revision Vulcans have limited range with restricted firing angles. The aircraft is also equipped with short-range air-to-air AIM-9A missiles, which, although powerful, require time to accelerate after deployment. When dismounting from an airborne Slug Flyer, operators can descend via parachute or utilise Regular Army Jetpack Gear.
Initially, prior to and during the Arms Deal Barrage, the aircraft lacked Vulcans, restricting its firepower to horizontal forward shooting. Its secondary weapons were limited to drop bombs and homing missiles. In response to pilot and technician feedback, the Slug Flyer underwent upgrades, incorporating Vulcans and enhanced secondary weaponry.
The SVH-03 Slug Copter, also known as the Slug Chopper, is an attack helicopter Super Vehicle developed by the Regular Army shortly after the Arms Deal Barrage. Key features of the Slug Copter include dual H-AV-5963 Revision Vulcan cannons with 360° rotation capability and high-damage bombs effective against ground targets, but ineffective against aerial targets. Notably, there have been reports of pilots accidentally colliding with the rotor blades when entering or exiting the vehicle, resulting in minor injuries. Fortunately, no fatal incidents have occurred to date.
The Astro Slug is a single-seat spaceship developed jointly by the Rebel Army and Amadeus Syndicate three months after the Invader Conquest. This sudden development was sparked by General Morden's growing paranoia about a potential alien invasion and the need to engage hostile extraterrestrial forces in outer space. The Pipovulaj's swift termination of their alliance with the Rebel Army after winning the war against the Invaders and returning to Mars further fueled this paranoia.
The Regular Army's acquisition of the Astro Slug remains unclear, but a popular theory suggests that they played a role in its development. This collaboration allegedly involved incorporating Martian and Invader technological debris. Interestingly, General Morden allowed the Regular Army to possess half of the produced Astro Slugs. Although this rumour seems unusual, it's considered plausible, especially given the relatively peaceful relations between the Regular Army, Rebel Army, Ptolemaic Army, and Amadeus Syndicate during that period.
The Astro Slug features a semi-automatic cannon on top, but its true potential lies in its ability to equip various weapons during flight. These weapons include Heavy Machine Guns, Laser Guns, Shotguns, and Rocket Launchers, which are mounted on two weapon pods on each side of the spacecraft. Additionally, it's equipped with limited, powerful, unguided missiles for firepower support. Some variants of the Astro Slug are also equipped with two 16mm Vulcan units that move in reverse of the spaceship's movement.
The Golden Slug, also known as the Golden Slug Phoenix, is a flight-based vehicle and the first known Slug to exist. Believed to be a creation of the Tuatha Dé Danann, it was discovered during a joint investigation by the Regular Army and Amadeus Syndicate at Ultima Thule. A team of soldiers and scientists stumbled upon a surprisingly half-functional phoenix war machine while searching for precious materials to utilise for weapons and machine manufacturing.
The origins of the Golden Slug are shrouded in mystery, but rumours suggest that it may have served as the guardian of Atlantis and Ultima Thule. It’s believed to have powered down and crashed into a crystal-filled, snowy cave after the destruction of Atlantis and the disappearance of the Tuatha Dé Danann. Due to its unpredictable behaviour, it has only been witnessed by a select few. Its last deployment was during the artillery bombardment of the Serapion Fellowship's fortress in Arms Deal Barrage, where it nearly went rogue, threatening to kill both friendly and enemy forces. Fortunately, Hyakutaro Ichimonji swiftly dismantled it, preventing a catastrophic outcome.
It's primarily an unmanned machine controlled by advanced AI, but it can also be operated by a single pilot. Unlike the Slug Flyer and Slug Copter, the Golden Slug mimics the flight pattern of a bird, flapping its wings to maintain flight and emitting loud squawks. It has a barrage of heat-seeking missiles located between its "feathers". Additionally, a laser beam is located inside its mouth, which can be switched between a Gatling gun, flamethrower, and poison gas dispenser during its 5-minute recharge period. Furthermore, it contains the Final Giga Blaster, a special weapon housed in its chest cavity. When activated, a camera shutter-like hatch opens, and a Denturion cannon-shaped launcher emerges, producing a large electrical, fiery nuclear energy sphere that causes a massive explosion upon impact.
The SVX-17M Slug Mariner is a Regular Army Super Vehicle designed as a single-crew minisub. Produced as an upgraded version of the Slug Sub before the events of the Extraterrestrial Alliance Clash, it boasts faster movement speed and a sleeker design. Similar to the Slug Flyer and Slug Copter, the Slug Mariner contains specialised gear, Scuba Gear, for operators. This gear is useful if the operator needs to exit the vehicle after it entered suicide attack mode or if the Slug Mariner is destroyed and enters self-destruct mode. The Slug Mariner is equipped with two 10mm Vulcan cannons, which fire incendiary ammunition that sinks after being shot, allowing it to effectively target enemies below. Additionally, it can launch powerful torpedoes that create a large shockwave upon impact, making it extremely useful against larger underwater enemies.
The Slug Sub is a small submarine that lacks a Vulcan, instead relying on torpedoes. When it resurfaces, it can fire homing rockets, which are replaced with depth charges when it submerges. The submarine is equipped with an Emergency Boat, a backup transport featuring a river paddle that's deployed whenever the submarine is destroyed. Due to the rising popularity of the Slug Mariner, the Slug Sub has become less prominent and is often utilised for reconnaissance missions, particularly by the Intelligence Agency.
The Borobune Slug serves as both a freighter and fishing boat for the Regular Army. Initially, it functioned as a construction unit, transporting materials and goods while secretly carrying a single metal container. This container could hold either a ground vehicle or submarine, depending on the mission requirements. The Borobune Slug was exclusively deployed on Pallas Island during the Regular Army's nuclear testing and experimental shipbuilding operations. However, after mutated crustaceans appeared, nuclear testing was halted, and the Regular Army unit fled the island with a single, heavily damaged Borobune Slug, which had barely survived an attack by an Enormous Moray. This surviving unit inspired the Regular Army to produce more Borobune Slugs, which were intentionally designed with a run-down appearance for stealth purposes.
The Middle-Son 1986 is an old U-Boat, originally designed as a submarine, still in use by the Regular Army. Although more advanced variants have been developed, it remains in frequent service despite its outdated design. The submarine has a substantial arsenal, carrying a range of weapons including missiles, torpedoes, and even transporting troops across the ocean. Each vessel is equipped with an anti-aerial machine-gun turret, known as the AA Machine Gun, mounted on its hull. Notably, the Middle-Son 1986 boasts remarkable durability, which surpasses that of the Slug Sub and Slug Mariner. It can withstand damage from repeated bombing runs and continues to operate with minimal damage.
The Middle-Son 1999 is a submarine developed by the Regular Army for reconnaissance and offensive operations in water areas. Originally, only one unit was produced, but it sank after a severe storm in Asian waters damaged the submarine, causing it to crash against a rocky shoreline. Unfortunately, all crew members on board lost their lives. Its wreckage was later discovered in a dried-up riverbed in the Villeneuve Mt. System during the Great Morden War. At that time, the Rebel Army was utilising the wreckage as a makeshift shelter and interceptor. Following the Great Morden War, the Regular Army salvaged the remains of the Middle-Son 1999. This enabled engineers to analyse the materials used in its construction, ultimately leading to the production of additional units. Although there are more Middle-Son 1999 submarines than its predecessor, they have slightly weaker durability and lack an AA Machine Gun.
The PA33-21 Boat is a transport vessel designed to carry Regular Army personnel to privately owned islands and seaside areas. It features strong armour for protection, but has a vulnerability to aircraft-deployed bombs. For defence, it's equipped with three AA Machine Guns, providing powerful force against airborne threats. The boat has a capacity to carry up to 25 passengers, along with additional storage for a handful of weapon crates and barrels of food.
The Augensterm is a Slug designed to operate on both floors and ceilings. Developed by the Regular Army in a secret underground laboratory, this four-legged Slug was created using harvested scraps from destroyed Rebel Army tanks and Regular Army Super Vehicles found on the old battlefield of the P.F. Squad training island. The laboratory itself was repurposed after being abandoned by the Amadeus Syndicate. Rumours suggest that the Augensterm was built shortly after the Invader Conquest, but its deployment has been delayed due to extensive testing phases. However, the reasons behind its lack of deployment remain classified, known only to high-ranking officials and engineers.
The pilot is positioned higher than in other Slugs, making it more challenging for enemies to score a hit. Its dual 12.6mm Vulcans operate similarly to the Slugnoid, firing at either the same target or in opposite directions. Additionally, the Augensterm is equipped with a harpoon capable of piercing enemy vehicles with ease. A special setting allows the harpoon to generate electricity when attacking. Furthermore, the harpoon can be replaced with an extendable drill designed for close-quarters combat rather than burrowing. However, its relatively slow movement makes it vulnerable to bullet and rocket attacks if the operator is not cautious.
The Slug Gigant is a monstrous walker emblazoned with the Regular Army insignia, currently holding the title of the largest Slug. Its design drew heavy inspiration from stolen Rebel Gigant blueprints, acquired by Intelligence Agency agents during the White Baby Crisis. Unlike the Rebel Gigant, which is primarily used for combat, the Slug Gigant serves a dual purpose as both a war machine and a giant snowplow. It is equipped with a 16mm Vulcan at the front, two movable arms, and a plasma beam attack capable of unleashing explosive force.
The Slug Gigant comes in two variants: a single-pilot model and a dual-pilot model. The primary difference between these variants lies in the cockpit design and the distribution of controls. In the single-pilot Slug Gigant, the lone pilot controls all aspects of the machine from a single cockpit. In contrast, the dual-pilot model features two separate cockpits. The pilot in the forward cockpit controls movement, the forward-facing Vulcan, and the claw-blaster cannon, while the pilot in the rear cockpit operates the shoulder-mounted Vulcan cannons.
The Black Hound was initially a part of the Ptolemaic Army's arsenal, but its software and design blueprints were stolen by Intelligence Agency agents and S.P.A.R.R.O.W.S. operatives during a raid on the Osaka compound in the midst of the Ptolemaic Emergence.
Originally, it was an experimental, unmanned war machine developed using stolen data disc information. However, the Regular Army, with the assistance of Trevor Spacey, modified the design to accommodate a single operator, replacing its remote-controlled AI technology. The initial version of the Regular Army's Black Hound lacked a functional laser cannon mounted on a mechanical arm. However, this oversight was eventually addressed by Tarma, who successfully integrated the laser cannon shortly after the revolt against the Regular Army.
The Iron Nokana is a repurposed Rebel Army large, multi-purpose armoured combat vehicle. It has been repainted blue and its size has been reduced by half compared to the original. Notably, the Girida-0 mounted on the back has been replaced with a bronze SV-001. The vehicle has undergone significant upgrades, including the addition of durable armour that provides immunity to electric shocks and freezing due to its resistance to electricity and icy cold temperatures. Many Regular Army personnel jokingly refer to it as the Steel Norcana.
The Type-2 Di-Cokka is a Rebel Army tank repurposed by Trevor, utilising stolen software he obtained during the White Baby Crisis. The tank's exterior has been painted blue with a golden iridescence, and the Regular Army insignia is emblazoned on its left side. It has been upgraded to include two short-barreled 155mm H-Cannons, which fire single shots that cover twice the range of the original. Notably, unlike its Rebel variants, which collapse when damaged, this Di-Cokka is rigged to explode into enemy positions when critically damaged.
The LV Slug Armor, also known as Heavy Armor, is an advanced variant of the Rebel Army's LV Armor. During the White Baby Crisis, the Intelligence Agency stole the data disc containing the LV Armor's design blueprints and computer software. The Intelligence Agency then handed this data over to the Regular Army for repurposing. Trevor was tasked with reworking the original LV Armor software for Regular Army use. He integrated an anti-virus program to prevent hacking and reduce the risk of system malfunction. Regular Army engineers subsequently developed a new version with enhanced armour, capable of withstanding heavier firepower.
The upgraded Slug Armor features a 60mm MTS-S/A chain gun integrated into its arm as well as a 100mm cannon mounted on its back. However, unlike its predecessor, it cannot swap weapons. Additionally, the weight of its new armaments prevents it from double-jumping. It boasts high, resilient armour and is equipped with a Vulcan gun and a rear-mounted cannon. It moves much faster on foot, and while crouching, it can use its hover pack to perform a sliding charge, running over enemies. Originally, it didn't have any insignia emblazoned on it, but when the Rebels stole crucial blueprints from the Regular Army a couple of weeks before the Garbage Heap Escapade, they built a version featuring their logo. This prompted the Regular Army to produce versions displaying their own insignia to avoid public confusion.
It excels in combat against large enemies, thanks to its ability to fire diagonally, similar to the Slug Gunner's minigun and heavy machine gun. This capability significantly enhances its line of fire. In terms of mobility, the Slug Armor moves faster on foot and can use its hover pack to perform a sliding charge while crouching, potentially running over enemies. Although it can move freely and fire its weapons while crouched, it cannot jump or attack upwards until it stands upright again.
The Landseek is a Rebel Army transport half-track vehicle repurposed by the Regular Army, who seized scraps and a partially damaged unit during their investigation of remaining Arabian Infantry troops in Riyadh during the Extraterrestrial Alliance Clash. The cyan-coloured vehicle is utilised to transport friendly forces over long distances across enemy lines. Compared to the original, the Landseek's most notable upgrade is its significantly strengthened armour, enabling it to withstand anti-tank weaponry. However, its glass and fabric components remain vulnerable to damage.
The M-15A Bradley is a Rebel Army missile tank repurposed by the Regular Army, who dispatched Intelligence Agency agents to steal data on this tank during the Extraterrestrial Alliance Clash. Regular Army personnel commonly refer to it as Brad. The tank has been modified to feature a lighter green color, and several upgrades have been implemented. These upgrades include the addition of a Vulcan cannon mounted on the side and modified missile launchers capable of firing at twice the range of its original counterpart. Furthermore, it has gained the ability to propel itself using rocket boosters.
The Hi-Do is a repurposed Rebel Army tandem rotor helicopter that the Regular Army obtained shortly after the capture of General Morden, acquiring the original aircraft and using it as a basis for their own modified version. Renamed to the Regular Army Helicopter, it's utilised for transporting personnel and Slugs. Similar to the Rebel Army's Hi-Do, it features a homing missile compartment within its nose. However, it lacks the Gatling gun mounted underneath, instead sporting a hatch that opens to deploy a hoist for lifting soldiers. This hatch is also equipped with a powerful magnet capable of carrying large metal crates. Notably, the helicopter has undergone a significant design overhaul, bearing a striking resemblance to the Regular Army Transport Helicopter in Metal Slug 3D.
The Type 95 Ha-Gō is a tankette bearing the Division 6 insignia, frequently utilised by Division 6 special forces operatives and soldiers. Despite being a Type 95 Ha-Gō, its design bears a striking resemblance to the Japonese Tank Soldier in Metal Slug 3. It's capable of firing five cannons simultaneously and launching anti-tank missiles at close range. Initially, only four of these tanks remained before Division 6 joined the Regular Army, after which they were mass-produced specifically for them to use. Many Regular Army and Division 6 personnel commonly refer to it as the Tank Soldier.
The Null Fighter is a single-seat fighter aircraft bearing the Division 6 insignia, featuring a unique design that combines elements of the Mitsubishi A5M carrier-based fighter (cockpit and fuselage) and the Aichi D3A dive bomber (tail). It's equipped with wing-mounted machine guns, capable of unleashing a continuous barrage of bullets. Similar to the Type 95 Ha-Go, there were a handful of Null Fighters available to Division 6, but after their alliance with the Regular Army, mass production began for their use only.
The Crusty Legs is a massive pilot-operated tank developed by the Regular Army and Division 6, designed to pulverize its enemies with its large legs. Only one unit has been produced, and it has been created from the use of Rebel Army tank scraps and salvaged Tuatha Dé Danann technology. When it spots an enemy, it fires two salvos of rolling cannonballs and 7.62mm ammunition rounds. It can power up its special attack, called the Flame Tornado Quadruped, by levitating in mid-air while the base of its feet ignite and generate flames, before charging towards the enemy to burn them. This attack lasts about 10 minutes or stops if the Crusty Legs has taken too much damage.
While the flamethrowers are active, the Crusty Legs replaces its special attack by firing a flaming shot from all three of its cannons. Despite its bulky appearance and slow movement, it’s quite mobile, possessing the ability to evade enemy attacks.
Mobile Suit Gundam Gquuuuuux, episode 3: Machu in Clan Battle
(source, episode 3 screencap)
So we are back to real time with this one, and honestly I may be saying this a lot, but I am a big fan.
This section is going to be a lot shorter than usual cuz I just want to get to the spoilers but I'll still yap some here.
As always the animation is stunning, and as always the artstyle bangs, plus getting some exposition in an actual proper way is nice.
And I really enjoy what this episode is setting up.
Thanks for reading, as always spoilers below cut:
So bby girl got sucked into the Red Gundam right? I mean we know that very much can happen and if anything the Zeknova might literately be a Psycommune missfire on the level of the Axis drop. Plus this is Anno we are talking about and knowing what I know about Evangelion I wouldn't be surprised at all. But then that leaves a question whether someone is in the Gqux.
Actual confirmation that the Gqux is a codename instead of the actual name, my bet is on it being Gundam Quantum and it gets to don the name after it goes through a mid-season upgrade. But speaking of that, Nabu calls out that the Gqux has teeth, I wonder whether this is going to just be a reference or if it comes back later down the line.
Seeing Machu have an actual present mom is nice (especially cuz of Eva) but also I wonder if she's going to play a bigger role or whether it's going to be something closer to Amuro's mom in 0079.
Girlfailure Nyann, my heart goes out to you.
I love how they just have the Gundam fandom wiki canon in the Ggux timeline.
So Machu is definitely a powerful newtype and Shuji probably is too.
Speaking of, we finally get to see Shuji and to the surprise of actually no one, he's the pilot of the Red Gundam, so my question is how did this actual sopping wet racoon of a guy get it, and what his relationship with bby girl is, especially since he seems to be "talking" with the Gundam.
Shoutout to Challia just driving the ship into side 6 to get Xavier, shows he cares. His whole interaction with Xavier seems great and I really hope they keep their relationship close to the main stage.
Speaking of Xavier I love him so much, I have nothing to bad to say about him, keep being a boyfailure lil guy, I love you for it <3
Seeing what a Clan Battle actually is, is great. Same as seeing that Machu inspite of her newtype abilites still can't pilot a MS properly, I wonder how they'll deal with the "training arc" since the show is that slow.
Also getting the context that Char is behind the whole Mav system and actually being told what it is, is also great. I was a bit worried it might just be a unexplained thing but I do like it. Also I love the implication that Amuro tearing apart Zeon in the Gundam basically changed the entire military doctrine of UC.
More Pyscho imagery between the two Gundam's looks stunning as always and I like how it sets up that this might be a common occurrence during combat.
Another great episode today, I'm more than excited to see what's to come, and honestly unlike last time this one lasted the perfect amount of time.
Thanks for reading, see you lot in a week :>
