#the answer is most likely no/the latter #because he's okay until like age 12 and becomes okay again post-game #but also in the middle its so hard to untangle 'schola teaching' from 'personality' with salazar being the nail in the coffin #which is funny because a lot of the tenets of the job just dont stick to him but this one does. like oil #because it essentially allows him to patch over large parts of his persona #salazar was won in two ways: force and talk. and these are the two things he gets better in after as a result #so I think characters who are less interested in going deeper will stop there and come to the conclusion that he just is that way #so. guess the violence is an attempt to prevent that from happening in the first place. 'keep away; do not look at me further'#its the failsafe if the first layer of knowledge has been breached and the ward against what comes after.#good morning btw! my fc: yeah it's no fun without a friend group

me: gah!

#ffxiv #ooc #they weren't kidding that mmo's have really changed in 15 years #the game itself gets better and resembles a mmo less #but at the same time no longer relies so much on socializing that it's not a priority #but given the way it's built it removes about 40% enjoyability if you don't find friends #however. it's much harder nowadays imo to build a solid group #since you can be a stranger and stay a stranger #and ffxiv is easily done solo #it's a double edged sword. so groups are flimsy #this fc was honestly really nice but everyone was so shy/up in their own schedule #and a lot of fcs just. don't do much and let it peter out #ffxiv doesn't have a lot of survivability once you finish the patch

Non-game-dev druid main has a hot take on how to generate alacrity on druid:

Tie alacrity to light combo fields blasts. Bring back lesser seeds of life on glyph cast. Bring back the trait that reduces staff skills cooldown. Boom it's endless light fields that cleanse condis and heal AND grant alactrity time. Does this mean all utlities are locked to glyphs? Yes. Does this mean people will have to play staff, the superior druid weapon? Yes. Does anyone but me want this? No.

Also bring back my 33% movement speed increase trait. This has nothing to do with alacrity but it had to be said.

#i swear to god the longer i think about it the more i am convinced the worse patch for druid was still the october 4 one #the june one now was just the last nail in the coffin #budgie plays gw2

Oh yes, nothing better than to finally go to finish your LI companion quest to discover the final fight is bugged as hell and lose 3h in redoing it and getting more and more frustrated... Only to discover you can't Google solution on phone, but it does show up on pc.

I've spend way too much time in this game and if it's going to be like this then I doubt I'll actually finish it :/
