When ever I have needed some support, a hug, an ear, some cold water or a hell of a lot of smiles / the people who come to Woonona at sunrise 🌅 meet, breath, sit & freeze together are a tight crew - being a bit a floater I appreciate the welcome arms that always come with meeting up with these peeps as there is always riveting conversations as we share a meal/beverage together at the local cafe @twosistersgarage … I tell you - when I was pregnant and my brain was being “rewired” for motherhood - I needed some strong beings to feel home amongst - these peeps = saviours in my local community!! 💗THERE’S ALWAYS A REWARD💗 After weeks of no cold dips or showers, a drastically reduced active schedule and resulting stir-craziness, I finally went for a dip with my bro @audiokitchen this morning at 7:30am. This is a reward for taking care of myself, but as we went in it felt a little bit like a risk, or even a torture! 🤣 But just shy of 3 minutes in and I felt my body adjust and start to feel comfortable. We stayed in six minutes, though I wasn’t sure I’d even manage 3 after a long break. This was the reward for taking the chance and breathing through the initial cold shock. A lovely chat with my bro in my favourite river, accompanied by a glorious peach sunrise and the strange conversation of swans 🌅 🦢 Walking back to the car we expected to get the violent shivers but we did not. Our fingers and toes were numb, then painful and slowly came back to life. This is a good sign, that our physical resilience was enough to get our body temperature up without going through the involuntary shakes. So many rewards. Life is full of rewards, if we can be conscious enough to acknowledge them.
