This is me trying to let go of aaaaaall the food knowledge I have. Tofu, even organic, not the greatest choice, white rice... well that’s like candy disguised as normal food. Cooked veg. Well. Cholesterol is waxy substance found in our blood and cells. Your liver makes most of it, actually over 80% of the cholesterol found in the body is produced in the body! The other 20% or less comes from how and what you eat. Think about that one! Cholesterol is not bad as your body needs it to produce hormones, Vitamin D and digestive fluids. The medical industry claims its bad, maybe that’s why we are seeing so many people with hormonal issues, low Vitamin D and digestive issues!? How does it get to be high? Stress: Anytime we have more stress in our life or inflammation in our body, cholesterol goes up. That should be a marker for you to realize that something deeper is going on. Not blame cholesterol and take a statin to lower it. The healthier our daily habits, the healthier our cholesterol. High cholesterol is a marker for thyroid issues: Your body needs thyroid hormones to make cholesterol and to get rid of the cholesterol it doesn’t need. Its that simple! When thyroid levels are low, your body cannot make cholesterol nor can it break down and remove LDL cholesterol. LD cholesterol can build up in your blood. Remember, this is a sign – there is stress in the system, which is affecting the conversion of thyroid hormone, which is affecting the production of cholesterol and the break down of LDL. That is why your cholesterol goes up and LDL is high. No other reason! Statins and thyroid health: If you have an under active thyroid or conversion issues and take a statin, they most likely won’t work. If anything, resulsts will be delayed until the problem with the thyroid is treated. If you treat the thyroid, your cholesterol levels will regulate. This is a huge topic. Besides the normal thing that most gluten containing grains are GMO grains, processed grains, etc. They cause inflammation in the lining of the small intestine, which leads to an immune response, the inability to break down food, absorption of food, cause a host of symptoms and lead to osteoporosis, infertility, nerve damage and more. But lets understand what gluten is because I feel there is a ton of confusion around it and other grains. * Gluten is a prolamine which is a group of plant storage proteins that have a high proline content and found on plant materials such as wheat. But there is the thing, gliadinin is a prolomine that is found in wheat only. Barley contains hordeins, rye secalins, etc. So remember that wheat is the ONLY grain that contains gliadin. Oats do not contain gluten. So all that marketing to say gluten free oats is false. They do contain a prolomine but contain avenin. * The grains of today are not the same grains when we were even children, when our parents were growing up, etc. Most people wonder when they go to foreign countries why they can tolerant grains better. It comes down to this, Americans being superficial, as the flour bleaching agent used to whiten our flour also oxidizes the surfaces of the flour and helps with developing of gluten. Hence gluten intolerance from the bleaching agent would answer the question of what has happened to your wheat supply. Sorry guys' but it is not the pesticides etc etc. When water and flour mix, gluten is produced. Other reasons: US wheat contains glyphosate (toxic ingredient of Round Up) which not only causes GI issues, but also is a chelator. * What to do? I recommend all clients, humans and other the like to eliminate gluten from their diet and refrain from eating it at all cost. There are so many other gluten free choices in our world today but you even have to be careful with those as some or poor quality foods. From my perspective, being caught in the desire of who want to become tends to be the focus on many. This essentially takes us away from who we are – presence. 🔹 Rumi said “what you seek is seeking you.” This could be interpreted in many ways. For me I think its about letting go – letting go of who we think we should become, letting go of who we think our parents want us to be, letting go of trying get healthy, letting go of chasing symptoms and letting go of, letting go. In a sense this takes us away from “desire to be” and in the present of who we are. 🔹 We begin to feel, see and experience who we really are and are becoming. We allow health and life to flow through us effortlessly, instead of always trying to chase it. It is always there, it is always there. We create illusions that it is not, we create projections to move us away from health but all along it is there. Post #1 of 2: PCOS, a disorder that over the years is being talked about more and more. From the stand point of health to the stand point of fertility. Polycystic ovarian syndrome for sometime can do undiagnosed leading to infertility, diabetes, mood disorders, endometrial cancer, fatty liver, sleep apnea, high blood sugar, high cholesterol, high BP and heart disease. The good news is it is EASILY treatable. Not only easily treatable but easily treatable naturally with food and lifestyle modifications. Yes its reversible!! I know if you look online it will say that “there is no known “cure” for PCOS” BUT, the underlying issue is insulin resistance. This underlying hormonal cause is 100Q% reversible! 🔹 The most prevalent sign of PCOS is what’s known as “androgen excess,” or too many male hormones (androgens) produced in the body. This can lead to symptoms like acne, abnormal hair growth and mood issues. These include testosterone, androstenedione, DHT, and DHEA. 🔹 A second diagnostic sign is ovulatory dysfunction: One of the most well-known effects of PCOS is problem with ovulation. This can manifest as oligomenorrhea (irregular periods) or amenorrhea (missing periods). Many women with PCOS experience abnormally heavy, short or long menstrual cycles, which also falls under the heading of ovulatory dysfunction. 🔹 Lastly, polycystic ovaries: Sometimes, the ovaries will form what’s called a “functional ovarian cyst.” A sac forms on the surface of an ovary around a maturing egg. Usually, the sac goes away once the egg is released. If the egg isn’t released or the sac closes around the egg and fills with fluid, it becomes a functional cyst. The term “polycystic” literally means that a woman’s ovaries have multiple small cysts on them. -Dr Axe 🔹 According to Dr. Lee, women who are estrogen dominant (low progesterone levels), have been shown to have high circulating insulin and cortisol levels. When the thyroid gland puts out too little hormone, it's called an underactive thyroid; the medical term is hypothyroidism. It may cause a slow heart rate, a rise in cholesterol, an increase in fluid around the heart, and heart failure. ❤️ A precursor to hypothyroidism called subclinical hypothyroidism may cause some changes in the blood fats and blood vessel function that may lead to an increased risk of narrowing of the arteries. ❤️ When the thyroid puts out too much hormone, it's called an overactive thyroid or hyperthyroidism. This causes the heart to beat faster, which can lead to palpitations, or an irregular heartbeat known as atrial fibrillation (afib). "Afib is the most common and dangerous heart risk associated with thyroid disorders," says Dr. Barbesino. ❤️ In afib, the heart's upper chambers (the atria) quiver instead of pumping steadily. This can lead to blood clots forming in the slow-moving blood. If a clot travels in the blood to the brain, it can cause a stroke. Make your favorite kid snack with any variety of frozen or fresh fruit you would like. The key to this recipe is patience. (Yields: 12-16 roll-ups) 🍓 Ingredients : •20 oz fruit (cherries, strawberries, blueberries, apricot, etc,.) •1/2 cup organic cane sugar or raw honey •1 T. lemon juice •1/8 tsp pure sea salt •2 T. great lakes gelatin non-hydrolyzed •coconut oil for greasing 🍓 Instructions : 1. Preheat the oven to the lowest setting;150-170 degrees F. 2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and grease lightly with coconut oil. 3. In a food processor, place the fruit, sugar, salt, lemon juice and gelatin (if desired), puree for 30 seconds or until the fruit is finely pureed. 4. Strain the fruit through a fine strainer into a bowl and discard any skin or seeds. 5. Spread the fruit puree evenly on the lined sheet pan with a spatula. 6. Bake in the preheated oven for 6-8 hours, depending on your oven. Until center is not tacky anymore. 7. Let it cool to room temperature and cut into individual strips with a pizza cutter or knife. 8. Roll each strip with the paper side out. Post #2 of 2: The third pattern that you will never find on a thyroid lab is Hypothyroidism caused by elevated TBG – thyroid binding globulin (TBG) binds thyroid hormone and transports it through the blood. When it is bound to TBG, it is inactive and unavailable to your tissues, cells, etc. When TBG is elevated, the levels of unbound thyroid hormone will be low – as it is bound. What causes this – ESTROGEN! This can be from the BCP, hormone replacement or the inability to detoxify estrogen, which is the most common reason. The goal = regulate blood sugar, eat enough of inflammatory protein, etc to assist the body to detoxify the re-cirulating estrogen. TSH and T4 will be normal, T3 will be low and T3 uptake and TBG will be high. 🦋 4. Hypothyroidism caused by decrease TBG: This is the opposite of the above. When TBG is low, blood levels of thyroid hormone are high. This leads one to believe that they have hyperthyroidism. But the cells develop a resistance to all this thyroid hormone. There is plenty of thyroid hormone, but the cells can’t use it so you develop hypothyroidism symptoms. High testosterone levels are usually the cause. I see this in men that are taking testosterone but also in women with PCOS and hyperinsulinemia where there is increased conversion of androgens. The key = reverse insulin resistance = reverse cell resistance to thyroid hormone. 🦋 5. Thyroid resistance: Last but not least, we see a normal functioning thyroid and pituitary. The problem, thyroid hormone is not getting into the cell and we are not producing energy. WE develop thyroid symptoms, feel horrible and we are constantly told “you are fine” because most labs values are normal. Continuation from yesterdays posts: Gelatin can be used for multiple purposes some of which include: Delicious, easy to store, on the go snacks like marshmellows, gummy candies, coffee jello shots…jello shots..haha, just kidding! 🔹 The best, most simple and affordable hair treatments. You will need 1 tbsp of gelatin (collagen hydrolysate- green can), 1/2 cup of hot water and 1 tsp apple cider vinegar. Dissolve the gelatin in the water and add the apple cider vinegar. After the mixture has cooled slightly, apply to hair, paying special attention to the ends. Place a shower cap on and for added effects, heat a wet towel in the microwave and wrap your head. Leave this on for 20-30 minutes, if you wish you can go as long as 40 minutes. Wash your hair as usual and wahla! Gorgeous hair! 🔹 Blackhead remover and/or skin tightening mask. This will give you a youthful glow you will not believe. ✅Step 1: Place 1 tbsp. unflavored gelatin powder in a microwave-safe bowl. Add the 1 1/2 tbsp. milk to the powder and mix with a spoon. ✅Step 2: Set the bowl in the microwave, and heat the gelatin mixture for 10 seconds. ✅Step 3: Dip your fingers into the bowl, and coat your face with the gelatin. ✅Step 4: Leave the gelatin mask on your face until it dries completely. The mask will feel stiff when dried. ✅Step 5: Pull the mask off. I can prove it with body temperature and 3pulse. If your temp and pulse fluctuate during the day, you DO NOT have a true thyroid issue. If you take your am temp and pulse in bed and it does not fluctuate during the day, pretty much stays the same, no matter how many #lifestyle or food #modifications you make, then it is most likely that it could be a thyroid problem. 🔹 Most people have conversion issues and are put on #thyroid medications. Which will create more havoc and cause more thyroid issues (thyroid resistance). 🔹 We have to begin to think about things like: what is blocking thyroid hormone conversion, is your #liver storing #energy to allow for thyroid #hormone conversion, are you cells blocking thyroid hormone from getting into the #cell, are you #cells even able to use the thyroid hormone coming in. 🔹 When we begin to zoom out and look at the person and move away from treating lab results, healing will take place.
