im having such a blast writing right now
it's not even remotely a publishable work but i grabbed an unused planner/calendar from 2022 and i'm making it fictional! it's now owned by a nice mom named katrina and she's planning birthday parties and thinking of remarrying and following her 26yo punk rock daughter on her first proper tour around the west coast
10/10 i recommend this to the moon if you have one laying around

Course Correct snippet
Feyre played for time, biting the already beginning to disintegrate cardboard straw in her iced matcha. Feyre didn’t like green tea. Had been known to proclaim on many immoderate occasions that it tasted like grass, mournful that pretty tea latte colors couldn’t be worked into her grid without waste.
“Lucien always likes the omelets,” Elain pointed out, sunny. Nesta could hear the leather toe of her flats taping the floor. “We could split one?”   Feyre shook her head, setting back down the undrunk tea. “I’m not eating animal products. No sugar, no carbs, no coffee, no nightshades, no seed oils.”   Nesta’s normally very healthy blood pressure skyrocketed in a way she could quite literally feel.   “Seed oils?”   An open handed gesture toward the matcha, slowly separating as the ice melted under bright California sunshine.   “I’m on a cleanse!” She hopped up, catching the strap of her heart-shaped purse from the back of her chair, “Just running to the bathroom. Can you order me the kale kiwi protein smoothie? Thanks!”   The dark surface of Nesta’s coffee held no answers, but she gazed into it anyway. Three inches of liquid was about enough for a human being to drown in, theoretically.   “Do you think,” Elain was laughing, hushed, horror needing a sheer output, “That she knows almond milk has almond oil in it?”   Nesta heaved a sigh, tilting back in her chair. “Do nuts count as seeds?”   Hibiscus, darkly red and dreamy violet blue provided cover for the tables, trellis arched into a whole porch overhead. Feyre’s favorite restaurant, all day brunch. Feyre’s favorite foods. For her birthday eight months before, she’d eaten a waffle made out of bacon. “Maybe she’s pivoting into wellness content?” Elain asked, hysteria reeled in.

These two mistakes are stealing your time... (They were stealing mine too!)
Tumblr media
It can feel so disappointing to have a plan for your long-term goals written out and still feel like you are unable to achieve everything. I promise I've been there. There were two key mistakes I was making that were leaving me feeling overworked, and underproductive.
Mistake #1: Sleeping in.
I love being awake early... but I hate the act of actually waking up early. The relief that comes with knowing I'm up hours ahead of time, with plenty of wiggle room in my morning to get a head start on the day is amazing. All of a sudden, I realize my morning rush out the door doesn't need to be so stressful.
Sadly, that relief never makes the 5:00 AM alarm any easier.
The problem is that late nights lead to late mornings, and all too often I found myself rushing out the door unprepared for the day as the result of the previous night's pleasures and an extra hour of sleep. Don't get me wrong, it can feel great to sleep in on the weekend, but as my day has become less structured around a set "day job" schedule and more self-directed, I realized just how harmful the habit of sleeping in can be for an entrepreneurial lifestyle.
Many studies have led to the conclusion that our best ideas occur early in the morning and that we miss out on our most critical growth opportunities when we sleep in. I'm not saying that the early mornings are fun... I am saying that they are worth it.
Mistake #2: The cost of sacrificing high amounts of time into low-reward ventures.
As an entrepreneur, I understand the importance of casting one's net far and seeking new opportunities to learn and grow. However, sometimes your time is more valuable than what that opportunity itself may have to offer.
I recently accepted a minimum wage position (my first in years) on Saturdays, helping the owners of a small-town thrift shop set up their online sales channels. I didn't need the money, but I figured it was a great opportunity to explore online sales further as I had some experience with it already, and I loved the idea of helping another small business get off on the right track.
Unfortunately, I quickly learned that the two women who co-owned the business were not on the same terms about what they wanted long-term from the venture. Both had their own successful businesses on the side, and this little thrift shop was more of a hobby venture than one they truly wanted to see succeed.
Ultimately, it came to be that neither of them truly knew if they wanted an online sales channel at all! The six hours I spent there every Saturday was valuable time that I couldn't get back. While the idea of helping another business kick off was appealing upon a first impression, I realized that my time wasn't worth minimum wage in a place that clung to stagnation instead of capitalizing on new growth opportunities.
There will always be more opportunities than we can take — make sure the ones you do take are worth the time you will never get back.

Plan with me and set up my Traveler’s Notebook Monthly Passport insert! ✒️📖
I almost sold my 2023 Passport inserts, thinking I’d have no use for them with a Hobonichi Weeks Mega already in my planning arsenal for the new year. But thanks to some friendly replies and suggestions to my Instagram stories, I’m now testing them for content planning! For me, this starts with marking down “important” holidays (at least, stuff I should probably be aware of or want to create content around on my page). I’m hoping my Monthly insert will be a nice dose of inspiration for when I want to create something new but am fresh out of ideas! We’ll see how it goes. :)
Have you tried the TN Monthly insert? How are you using yours, or how HAVE you used it in the past?

Social Media Planner: Plan, Schedule, Publish, and Manage
Tumblr media
What is Social Media Planner?
A social media planner is a tool, system, or process that empowers organizations or individuals to effectively plan, schedule, publish, and manage their social media content. With the help of a social media planner, it becomes simpler to strategize and organize content in advance, ensuring a consistent and cohesive brand presence across various platforms like Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. By utilizing a social media planner, businesses and individuals can maximize their social media efforts and maintain an active and engaging online presence.
Why is there a need for a social media planner?
SocialMedia Planning has many uses for businesses as well as individuals.
Planning ahead is a fundamental strategy for developing a consistent social media presence, tracking results, and continuously improving your overall strategy. By proactively mapping out your content, you can ensure a regular flow of engaging posts that resonate with your target audience. This consistency helps to establish brand recognition and fosters a sense of reliability and trust among your followers. Moreover, planning ahead allows you to evaluate the performance of your social media campaigns, analyze metrics, and identify patterns or trends. Armed with this data, you can make informed decisions, refine your approach, and optimize your content strategy over time. By embracing the practice of planning ahead, you lay a solid foundation for a successful and impactful social media presence.
Here are some of the numerous advantages that come with utilizing a social media planner:
Improve Productivity: - Using a social media planner can significantly improve productivity by streamlining your social media management process. With a well-organized and structured approach, you can plan and schedule your content in advance, ensuring a consistent and timely presence across multiple platforms. By eliminating the need for spontaneous content creation, you can allocate dedicated time slots for brainstorming, content creation, and engagement with your audience. This focused approach not only saves time but also allows you to work more efficiently, resulting in increased productivity. With a social media planner, you can stay organized, prioritize tasks, and optimize your workflow, ultimately achieving more in less time and maximizing the impact of your social media efforts.
Publish Content More Consistently: - A social media planner enables you to publish content with greater consistency, which is essential for maintaining an engaged audience and building a strong online presence. By planning and scheduling your posts in advance, you can ensure a regular flow of content across various social media platforms. This consistent publishing schedule helps to establish expectations among your followers and keeps them engaged by providing them with fresh and relevant content on a consistent basis. Moreover, a social media planner allows you to maintain a steady presence even during busy periods or when you may not have the time to actively manage your social media accounts. By publishing content consistently, you can establish your brand as reliable, dependable, and committed to delivering valuable content to your audience.
Keep Organized: - With a social media planner, you can effortlessly outline your content schedule, including precise dates and times for your posts. This allows you to keep a record of your published content, track when it was published, and have a clear view of what is planned for the future. By having a centralized location for your content calendar, you can easily manage your social media presence and seize opportunities to engage with your audience without missing a beat. The visual representation of your planned content assists in maintaining consistency, ensuring a diverse range of content types, and identifying any gaps or overlaps in your posting schedule.
Develop Your Strategy: - A social media planner plays a crucial role in developing your strategy by providing valuable insights into the success of your content. With a social media planner, you can track important metrics and analytics that reflect the performance of your posts on various platforms. By analyzing this data, you gain a deeper understanding of what resonates with your audience and what doesn't. This information becomes a valuable resource for shaping your future content strategy.
With the ability to measure the impact of your content, you can make informed, data-driven decisions about the type of content, posting frequency, and platform optimization. You can identify the best-performing posts, understand the engagement levels, reach, click-through rates, and conversions they generate, and adjust your strategy accordingly. By leveraging the insights provided by a social media planner, you can refine your approach, focus on the content that resonates most with your audience, and allocate resources effectively to maximize the effectiveness of your social media presence. Ultimately, a social media planner empowers you to make informed decisions and continuously improve your strategy for better results.
Collaborate With Your Team: - A social media planner facilitates seamless collaboration with your team, enabling effective coordination and streamlined workflow. With a social media planner, multiple team members can access and contribute to the planning, creation, and scheduling of social media content.
Collaboration features within a social media planner allow team members to assign tasks, share ideas, and review content drafts. This promotes better communication and ensures that everyone is on the same page regarding the social media strategy. By having a centralized platform for collaboration, you can minimize miscommunication, avoid duplicate efforts, and maintain a consistent brand voice and messaging.
Furthermore, a social media planner allows for easy content approval processes, where team members can provide feedback and make necessary revisions before posts go live. This helps maintain quality control and ensures that content aligns with the brand's guidelines and objectives.

What is the 12-week year?
Tumblr media
While there is an entire book on the concept (The 12 Week Year by Brian P. Moran and Michael Lennington) of the 12 week year, I think it is so valuable that I might as well give it a quick run down...
The 12 week year works, because it keeps the pressure on. So often, we will make New Year resolutions, and never stick to them. We figure we have the whole year ahead of us, so why start now? Be honest, we are in April now... Did you really get the washboard abs you thought you would? How many times did you set foot in the gym? It's still 2024, it doesn't technically mean you failed... right?
In this book, Moran points out a study that found that people tend to be the most productive when the year is drawing to a close because they weren't productive toward their goal for the rest of the year, and feel pressured to play catch up as a result. The 12 year week utilizes the mindset surrounding this dynamic to the individual's advantage.
The 12 week year is a concept that encourages one to create goals not with an entire year in mind, but by splitting their year into quarters. Instead of focusing on what you want to accomplish by the end of 2024, instead focus on what you want to accomplish before the end of March. Then, by the end of June, September, December, and so forth.
The key to this entire dynamic is being incredibly detailed and intentional with your goals. Instead of saying "I want to walk more" say, "I will walk every morning after breakfast at Cedar Park for 15 minutes." Instead of saying "I want to read more books" say, "I will finish one audiobook a week by listening to it while I take my walk, cook dinner, and work on my crochet project." Then, prepare a list of books you have in mind.
Many people feel limited in their ability to be truly productive, but at the end of the day, it isn't who or what you know... It's how you implement those two things into your tangible decisions from day to day. Knowledge without acting upon said knowledge is hardly knowledge at all. My measly summary could never do this amazing book justice, and I highly recommend a full read through to anyone looking to restructure how they approach their goals in a truly beneficial way.
Can't afford to buy the book? That's fine! I am a firm believer that knowledge should be freely accessible to anyone who wants to better their lives regardless of their circumstances! You can read the PDF copy for free here, or listen to the audiobook version on YouTube for free here.
