Ghouls Headcanons 4
dew once drank gasoline and kept coughing flames to scare the shit out of copia. He scare the shit out of everyone and almost burnt have the ministry down. Sunny tried to use him as a flame thrower.
There a hole in the wall in the common room from where Swiss fell through while he was drunk. They told sister it’s been patched up. They are filthy liars.
All ghouls watch and love baby sensory videos. It’s one of the only ways to keep them calm and quiet. It’s also one of the only ways to keep them distracted. The dancing fruit one works the best.
Sunshine bought a motorcycle with the ministry credit card. She got in a lot of trouble with sister because of it. She blamed it on copia. She also bought aether one so they can go on joyrides together.
Mountain eats rocks. Will just straight up pick rocks up off the ground and crunch down on them. He says he like the crunch. He’s not allowed to have crystals anymore because they’re like candy to him. Don’t ask him about the teeth marks in the granite work surfaces in the kitchen, it wasn’t him.
Aether needs glasses to read. All of the other ghouls find it incredibly attractive.
Sunshine, Swiss and dew are known as the terror triple around the ministry. They are not allowed to be left unsupervised together. They are banned from using cleaning supplies because they tired to make mustard gas. They peed in the gas tanks of all cars that the ministry own. They tried to make a bomb in a toilet. Not a big one they just thought it would be funny if the all water systems were broken at the same time. Thankfully they were unsuccessful.
Birds, rabbits and deer and the number 1 distraction to ghouls (apart from themselves).
They will stand at any window, staring intently at the small creatures, ears high, tails swishing and pupils blown wide while chittering and chirping to each other while
Swiss can’t be trusted with laundry detergent. He drinks it like it’s a smoothie.
Ghouls can’t dream. Something about them not having souls makes them unable to.
Mountain has terrible posture from having to duck down through doorways and lean down to talk to people. Cirrus always rubs his back for him to help.
Cumulus makes the best tiramisu ever. She’s famous for it around the ministry.
Special lives in the basement of the ministry and is the biggest gossip ever. If he’s bored he’ll make something just to see the drama unfold.
Nobody knows but cowbell lives in the basement with special. Everyone thinks he got sent back to the pits.
Aether has never sat through a full movie. He always falls asleep about halfway through. Especially if he’s in the middle of a cuddle pile.
Dew walks around with his hand in someone else’s pocket. Jean pocket, coat pocket, shirt pocket, front or back it doesn’t matter to him he’s wiggling his hand in there.
Rains favourite tv show is friends. He’s had it on repeat since he was summoned. His favourite character is joey because he reminds him of Swiss.
Ghouls have their own language that only ghouls understand. They only speak it around each other in private. They prefer to speak their papas native tongue or English around anyone else.
Rain and mountain watch my neighbour totoro together every Friday night without fail. Sometimes cirrus and cumulus join them.
Aether likes to eat bath bombs. He likes the way they fizz on his tongue. He’s gotten banned from every lush store he’s been in.
Cirrus drinks perfume. She says it smells nice so why would it taste bad. She’s surprised every time when it’s awful.
None of the ghouls can handle caffeine.
When dew was first summoned he was terrified of snow.
All of the ghouls are incredible at Mario cart. Especially cumulus and rain. They fight for first place all the time. Swiss is undefeated at just dance.
Dew and rain completely switch personalities when they’re off stage.
Cumulus does a face mask almost every night and dew and Swiss try to lick it off her every time without fail.
All ghouls are banned from playing among us. No explanation needed you already why.

Read chapter one
Chapter two of my series, “𝕽𝖔𝖘𝖊 𝕲𝖆𝖗𝖉𝖊𝖓 𝕱𝖚𝖓𝖊𝖗𝖆𝖑 𝕺𝖋 𝕾𝖔𝖗𝖊𝖘”
Summary: After a multitude of wrong doings at your catholic church, you and four other nuns are sent on a mysterious transfer to a ministry nobody dares speak of. On behalf of the Count Copia, you are welcomed after a suspenseful journey.
Chapter summary: your first night there, you have a strange nightmare. You decide to take a walk to get rid of the paranoia when the beast from the nightmare shortly introduces himself…not like a gentlemen tho…
warnings: LOTS of sexual stuff but no smut, details of a wolf eating a sheep, sexual harassment (its Swiss flirting), ghoul beef, creepy spiritual activity, nightmares, virginity kink, prey/pred, reader doesn't wear underwear to bed
a/n: shadow ghoul is Swiss, quintess ghoul is omega. This is chapter two of my new series! be on the lookout because chapter three is going to be heartfelt lore.....oh, I wonder if it has anything to do with the cliffhanger...
A loud bang erupted from your sleep, you quickly turned on the lamp beside your bed. A sigh is heard from the other women in the room as they watch you.
“What are you doing? It's the middle of the night?” They say, also turning on their lamps.
You step out of the bed, long nightgown falling to the floor, and the white lace pools around your feet. “I-I heard a loud crash, did you not hear it too?” You say, a shaky voice cracking as a shiver washes down your spine.
“No? Are you sure you're not just paranoid?” One says as she stands up from the bed, she walks over to you and places a hand on your shoulder.
You jump at the touch, “Maybe…I just…I swear I heard something…”
The girl sighed, she let her breath draw out until it abruptly stopped. You could feel her own eyes go wide behind you.
“D-do you see that?” She says chillingly as she points at one of the dressers close to the door.
“See what?” You ask as you focus on the dark room, but all you see are shadows until your eyes adjust, making a clear outline of a black shadow of a man.
“What the f-uck.” You say as you stumble back, ‘What the hell is that???”
The shadow doesn't move, it stays still until loud and quick footsteps run across the room, the furniture shaking with them.
Your breath runs out as you run cold, you're speechless as you feel a draft of air come across your face and neck. You feel something sharp like a scratch against your back and neck before a scream rings directly into your ear.
That's when you jump up from your bed and quickly turn on the lamp again, awakening from what seemed to be a nightmare. You catch your breath, surprisingly not waking the others as you pull your hair back, staring into the blanket pattern as to regain thought.
You drag yourself from the bed and take one of the candles, lighting the way out of the room and into the hallway. Your footsteps are silent against the obsidian floor, bare feet patting against the cold crystal lightly as you walk your mind off.
As you venture farther down the hall you take in the paintings, how they all show stories that would usually be in the bibble but from the other perspective. You took the moment to take in the fact that this was now your home, people, and soon to be your religion. Holding your finger, you don't notice the eyes that begin to appear from the eerie sides of the hallway.
Your candle suddenly blows out and you gasp, “Hello? Is someone there?” You say, holding yourself closer to the wall in a panic.
But as your back hits the safety of the wall you realize it's no wall at all but rather the torso of a being. You screech, dropping the candle holder as it falls to the floor. A slender and clawed hand covers your mouth as you’re held against the body. Your screams are muffled as you struggle against the figure. Your hands reach about, as the devil's hands slide up your nightgown. Quickly, you use the rosary that was wrapped around your wrist and stab the demon's arm.
They let out a loud groan as you're released.
You stumble onto the floor and crawl away, “Leave me alone! You ratchet devil!” You yell, pulling your knees to your chest.
The beast slowly walks closer with his hands out putting distance between the two, “I'm not going to hurt you, who are you? It's far past curfew.” The voice says, rusty like a blood moon.
Out of the moonlit streek of the hall, his pure black hands show as he gets closer, and two pure white sparkling eyes peer through the night.
“I- I….why did you attack me?” You say franticly as you stand up, grabbing the candlestick and pointing it at him threateningly.
“Woah now…be careful with that thing..” he says, taking a step back as you urge it closer, “you do not know how sharp tha-” He says before you press it to his stubbled chin, even tho you can't see anything or any part of him you can smell cigarettes and sandalwood from him.
“Hey….you best be careful with that thing lady…or we can have some real problems.” He says, placing a hand on your’s griping the gold metal. He suddenly pulls back his hand in agony as he sharply gasps, “Fuck!” The demon holds his hand, angry eyes looking down to the silver cross ring on your finger.
“Who are you? Why are you here? Why do you have that?” The nameless ghoul grabs your wrist, making you drop the stick.
“Y-you scare me….you attacked me!” You defend as tears bubble up.
“You're obviously not from here….you must be one of the new play things….” The beast shadow says as it softens his grip, “My apologies for being so rude, we just have strict rules here regarding curfews…”
“I…apoligize too….” You couldn't believe you were saying sorry to a hellish creature but perhaps he was like the first ghoul you met, “Please explain the curfew…”
“Well for one…they put you in the wrong part of the ministry…this is too close to the northwest wing for comfort.”  he says, “You must be in your rooms for the rest of the night before midnight….usually any guests breaking this rule gets a harsh verbal beating from the sister imperator…” He says, hand sliding down your arm and pushing the lacey sleeve up, “But If you have special permission from one of the upper clergy men….your safe.” his touch is soft and almost addicting, his eyes shiny like the moon behind him. It makes you want to faint like you must consume him whole before he's gone like the wind.
“Why…..why is there such a curfew?” You ask, thoughts being drained as you wander off into the endless range of his eyes.
“Because….here…after the sun leaves us we demons roam.” He says, hand softly tracing up your shoulder and collar bone to your chin to hold, “Everything not behind a closed door after midnight belongs to us….” He caresses your cheek.
You feel a wave of heat wash over you like a fever, except this was no simply cured one. What was this plaguing love that filled you? Was this admiration? Fondness? Jealousy? What sin had tainted your heart so black that it coils up like this? To make your veins run empty and your lungs frail. What could possibly have your head pounding so hard you can feel your eyes unfocus and blur out as your mouth runs dry?
Could this possibly be lust? Such an evil intrusive need, invading like wolves on a sheep farm. You can feel the wolf's eyes stare you down, and that shiver runs up your spine as his position gets lower. Like a star, he pounces and lets his fangs dive deep into your flesh. Blood spills everywhere as small pieces of wool spill from the unsilent night like snow. How innocence was instantly turned into nothingness, to the abyss, how life so quickly faded into the blackness of violence. To death.
Except you were no sheep, no little lamb a child could lie on. And this beast, claws, tail, eyes, and motion like a wolf was not one. Perhaps he would have the same intentions, to devour what has been lazily left into the night. Forgotten, lost, innocent, and vulnerable you were in this dark mysterious presence. It would be child's play for him to ruin you, to take every ounce of life and dignity away.
You let out a soft moan, your eyes opening softly as you realize you have lost yourself. You stand faint in his arms, his tail wrapped around your parted legs. The soft nightgown bunched up to your hips, exposed legs and genitals, how you could feel your nipples harden at the cold gust of breath fan across the fabric so daring to fall down your shoulders. The top four buttons were undone and tampered with like they were viciously pulled apart. His claws dig into your thighs, one slender black finger caressing high enough to just barely touch the hair hiding away your wet folds.
Your so out of it, this plague was more a drug than any impulse. You feel limp, like your half out of blood and oxygen. His other hand wraps around your throat, and that feeling becomes a reality as he softly squeezes.
Your eyes slowly fall shut from the lack of oxygen till the lust-filled demon jolts, a voice across the hall coming from two fierce black eyes. Their aura is even stronger than this one, overwhelmingly strong and relevant to the first nameless ghoul. You could tell they weren't the same, just by the voice this one was far more dominant and older.
“Shadow.” He says, deep voice trembling your heart rate it almost snaps you back into reality.
“Quintess…lovely to see you…” The captive-holding ghoul says behind you, his grip getting tighter as the hand around your thrat goes to pin your waist against his.
Were these their personal names? Perhaps it would be easier to give them all names instead of calling them all nameless ghouls.
“Let her go..” Quintess says arms crossed as he steps into the moonlight.
Your eyes are wide open now, standing up straight as you see the first look of what a ghoul is. He has white hair, pure as snow that's brushed back and slightly wavey. His eyes are normal besides the white slit of his pupil. He has two chipped twisted horns that look to be made of lapis llazul, they glow and sparkle even with their harsh rugged used look. His face is soft, and round, and has a nice defined chin and jaw. His skin is also white but has a hint of purple and grey. Two scars ride from his pointed ear to his lips, which look like claw marks from some kind of fight. His tail is particularly long and has a furry end. He's in a black uniform, it has a hood but is pulled off, it has a large belt with symbols on it and a crucifix necklace. You feel safe by his look, he has the same energy and intentions as the nameless ghoul.
“Why…you know as well as everyone else that what's left to the dark belongs to us,” Shadow says, seductive voice gesturing to the lamb trapped in his arms.
“You and I both know that if she denies you sex you will go back along your night with no second thoughts, You're only trying to look strong and powerful because she's new. You were delighted to see that she wasn't one of the usual sisters of sin roaming around because they wish to either die or be filled with your cum. So of course why not ruin this catholic virgin before one of the fires does.” He says simply, your a little embarrassed but you try to escape his grip.
Shadow growls, “I do not have to worry about if she wants it tonight or not, she will come to my chambers one of these nights, swarmed with thoughts and dreams of me pounding her delicious tight cunt because that's what lord Asmodeus wants out of her and that's what she wants.” he bites back, “There is no escaping the lust she will feel for me, just wait your time and ill send you a letter soaked in her orgasm and signed with her blood sweat and tears explaining how she loves being whipped and bitten to oblivion.”
You tremble at his words, unsure of what any of it mean.
His arms let you free and you stumble to the other side of the hallway, thankful for this white ghoul.
“T-thank you..” You breathe out so heavily it hurts, you want to hug him for his kindness.
“Go on, shadow. To find a seeking victim.” Quintess says as the shadow ghoul disappears, even before you get to see any part of him besides his eyes and arms.
“Are you ok? Did he hurt you in any way?” The ghoul asks as he looks you over, strong demeanor coming down as he softens. His face fills with worry, and concern as he fixes your nightgown and buttons the top back together.
“No, i….I'm dearly sorry…I seem to be causing trouble here.” You apologize to another demon, “Forgive me…”
“Oh, child, no concern needed your very very new and you have much to learn.” He says, fixing your hair as well, his hand acting as a brush with his claws as he wipes the strands of hair from your forehead. “Come let me get you back to bed..”
“No wait…I” You say nervously, “There…was something in there…it doesn't feel safe..”
“Hmm? Is there a ghoul in there?” He asks,
“No…I just...I mean not to be childish but I feel a dark entity in there and I felt it watch me as I sleep..” You answer you had always felt spirits, another reason for your removal from the church.
“That's alright, I understand, we do have wondering spirits here.” He says, hand placed on your back to guide you down the hall, “If you don't mind, you can sleep in my room tonight, I won't be using it.” he offers
“Oh, that’s very kind of you, I don't want to barge you out though.” You say as he leads down the hall.
“Don't worry, I'll be sleeping with a friend tonight anyways.” quintess says as he soon opens the door to his chambers.
It's nice, a cozy and warm look with a made bed in the corner between bookshelves and a few storage boxes on the other side of the room. There was a cold and cobwebbed-covered fireplace. The room had obviously not been used for quite some time, but you stayed quiet.
You sit on the bed, feeling over and noticing there is something under the pillow. You grab it, only to realize that it is a lock of black hair tied together with a silky purple ribbon.
The quintess ghoul quickly takes it, “I apologize, that wasn't supposed to be there.” he says
You nod, “Sorry…i'll go to sleep now..” You say before he leaves. You can't helo but stay up even later wondering what the lock of hair was, and why he was so tense about it. It was so black, like night, and it was so little of it….
like it had been scavenged pieces found across the floor.

Valentine's Day 1985
I wanted to feature some platonic/family Valentine's Day drabbles, since that's how I personally like the holiday. Primo and 8-year old Copia from my AU. I'm dedicating this one to @ghuleh-recs because they have have done so much for the community and inspired me to just go big.
I have three planned! Let's keep the love going! Ficlet/Drabble Below the cut!
Tumblr media
It was nearly afternoon and Copia could not find Primo anywhere. Copia had been waiting for him back in their shared cell, art supplies in hand. Primo always woke earlier than everyone else, off to do some chore or other. On the other side of the cell was Primo’s bed, neatly made. Primo didn't collect much— just a few of Copia’s paper sculptures on his nightstand, a framed photo of his mother. His watch was there too, which meant he was out on a run. So that could be it. On bad days he would be out running for hours. Copia unfolded his carefully cut art project, scrutinizing the shapes and folds of the little dolls linking arms. He had hidden his craft supplies in a shoebox under his bed, doing his best to work in secret lest his brother discover his surprise.
“Down in the kitchen, maybe,” Copia said to his three rats in the nearby cage. It was cold and so they continued to nap in their pile of felt and fur. Copia got to his feet, tucking the card in his book and shoving the whole thing under his arm. After his little doorknob-tapping ritual (once for his rats, twice for bravery, three times for luck) he was out and en route to the dining hall.
“Came in from his jog,” recalled Sister Agatha as Copia found her in the dining hall. She gestured over to the spotless kitchen. “Then noticed the range needed cleaning.”
“And he was here?”
“Oh, about two hours too long,” chuckled Agatha. “Then he fixed that knocking going on in the fridge. Then back out the door. And that was that.” She shuffled over to a tinfoil-covered plate and pulled out a little something for the boy. A heart-shaped cookie, decorated with pink crystals of sugar. “Don't forget this on your way out, Mr. Holmes.”
“Thank you.” Copia inserted the cookie into his mouth, did a little hop and scurried out. Nothing else to fix, so Primo moved on to his most common little problem. Copia now knew exactly where Primo was.
As soon as Copia stepped out into the cold he heard the familiar thwack echo across the stone walls of the Ministry building. Primo was by the garden shed, adding to the already precariously tall woodpile one axe blow at a time.
Primo was an easygoing sort of person, an unflappable pillar of good natured-ness, but Copia had known his adoptive father-brother for so long that he could tell exactly what was on his mind. This sudden onset of busy-ness, the relentless puttering only meant one thing:
It was not going well with him and a paramour.
Primo noticed him and buried the axe head into the stump with an effortless toss. There was a haze of heated persperation wafting from his rough friar’s habit. He smiled, but his eyes felt far away. “Ah, sorry, you wanted to show me something, I forgot. Copia, where's your coat?”
Copia swallowed. “Um er…are you and…Brother Vincenzo…”
“Ah, Vinny?” Primo curbed a grimace. “I needed to be by myself for a while.”
Copia burned with embarrassment. “Sorry I um…I…”
“Too many differences,” said Primo plainly. “We're on good terms, though. Don't worry.” He settled in on the cement bench nearby, a thin unsteady smile on his face. “Didn't care too much for this holiday anyway. What you got there, mausi?”
Copia dropped the book in his lap, and Primo touched the title with his fingers, reading aloud slowly. “Paper…paper cutouts.”
“Yes, like this!” Copia pulled out the bundle of folded papers, expanding it wide in front of him with a grin. “Tah-dah!”
“Oh, wow!”
“It's for you. Em…Happy Valentine's Day. Sorry.”
“What you sorry about?”
Copia looked down at the frozen dirt, his face burning. He wanted so badly for Primo to be well. Primo did everything in his power to build a wall of normalcy around him, and as Copia grew he felt its presence more and more. It tugged at his heart knowing that he could do little to help. For a moment he doubted if he did his doorknob ritual before leaving for the day— he wouldn't feel this way if he did. He must have forgot. More embarrassment. More springs winding.
Primo gave a good-natured scoff. “It happens.” He reached out with a roughened hand and investigated the little chain of paper dolls. “Fine work here, mausi. Thank you. Happy Valentine's Day, Copia.”
“I wanted to teach you,” Copia replied, his voice growing strong as Primo’s praise bolstered his spirit.
“I'd love to learn,” Primo said, and he rose, creaking, to his feet. “And we need to get you inside. Bring a coat next time.” He gestured at Copia once more, and the boy held his hand. The semi-frozen ground crunched underfoot as they crossed the lawn. “Lunch first?”
Copia nodded. “Sister Agatha made cookies.”
“Paper cutouts,” Primo mused. They got to the door, and he let Copia in but not without a teasing ruffle of his hair. “So…is this why I kept seeing all those little pieces of white paper all over the carpets, huh?” Primo smirk. “Nihil stole a box of xerox paper for you?”
“He…said he'd put it back,” Copia muttered shyly.

Ghouls teethe.
It happens for about a month after being summoned.
They're summoned with all their teeth, but no fangs. Those have to grow in over the canines they already have.
This leads to some very pouty ghouls.
Sunshine, the latest summon, is exceptionally pouty about it.
She's very bouncy normally, and when a sibling of sin teaches her to cartwheel, she cartwheels almost everywhere. But this toothache has her curled up in the common room, pouting to herself, her hand over her mouth.
The ghouls try to help.
Mountain gives her his drumsticks to gnaw on (she snaps them almost instantly between her teeth and steals extras from his room when he's not looking).
Aether offers his quintessence, which helps a little. It doesn't seem to alleviate all her pain, however, and it makes her very drowsy.
Cumulus offers a cooling touch, which helps with some of the burn in her gums.
Copia helps in a slightly unorthodox way.
He sees her struggling one practice, constantly running her tongue over her teeth and cupping her hand over her mouth, which really doesn't help with her part as a backup singer.
He walks straight up to her, which is pretty fucking intimidating when you've only been on the earth for two weeks and the Satanic Pope is making a beeline for you.
He looks her over for a moment, then lifts her upper lip with a gloved thumb and tuts at how red and swollen her gums are.
"You are teething, huh?" He asks, to which she nods, her face flushed red in embarrassment. "I see. Join me in my offices after practice, I will help you."
When she joins him in his offices, he has her sit on his lap. For easy access to her mouth, obviously. With one hand, he pours a dram of whisky. With the other, he pets her hair, murmurs soothing words, says that all ghouls go through this and he knows how uncomfortable it must be.
He caps the whisky, then asks her if she's tasted it before. She shakes her head. She's tried beer, and spritzers, and cocktails that Swiss comes up with, but whisky is... Fancy stuff. The ministry is not wasting its alcohol budget in ghouls that have high alcohol tolerances.
He tells her about how this is his favourite, an Aberlour 12, imported from the north of Scotland. You just didn't get good whisky in the States. American whiskey tasted of dishwater to him.
He dips two of his still-gloved fingers in the crystal glass, coating them in a thin layer of the beautifully amber liquid.
Then, he lifts her lip with his thumb, just like he had done in the practice session. He takes his whisky-soaked index finger and slowly swipes it over her gums. The relief is almost instant.
It tingles for a moment, then her gums go numb, and Sunny's almost sobbing in relief. She holds his wrist with her hand, sucks his fingers into her mouth, lathes her tongue over his fingers, fasting the firey flavours mixed with the earthy leather, then begs for more.

And We Are Tied As One Eternally-XII
Fandom: Ghost Rating: Explicit Warnings: none for this chapter Relationships: Papa Emeritus IV/Copia x OFC Additional Tags: soft!dom Copia, eventual smut, developing relationship, kind of a slow burn, no beta reader Chapter Word Count: 2370 Summary: Ellie Moran just wanted to make a new life for herself. Running to escape the people in her past, she ends up in a small town in the middle of nowhere that happens to be home to a Satanic church. She never expected her life to change again after she started attending the public masses at said church. Ao3 || Masterlist Chapters: 12/? Copia sat with Ellie, answering questions for the next couple of hours. They talked and ate pizza while Ellie expressed her frustrations over not understanding anything she had just seen. He understood. Despite having grown up in the church and around infernal magick and demons, there was still a lot he didn’t understand himself.
“I should go to bed,” Ellie said, looking at her phone and seeing how late it was getting. “I…” She looked up at Copia. “Can…can you stay? I don’t want to be alone.”
He felt his heart flutter at her question. “Of course,” he said. “If that’s what you want and will make you feel comfortable, then I will stay.”
“Thank you,” she said, sounding relieved. He watched as a pretty blush crept up on her cheeks. “I guess you can stay in my bed,” she said. “The couch isn’t very comfortable to sleep on…”
“Only if you are comfortable with that,” Copia said. He wanted nothing more than to lay in bed with her, but he wouldn’t do it unless that’s what she wanted. He didn’t want to push any boundaries with her and ruin the relationship they were building.
“We’re both adults, and I trust you,” Ellie said. “I’m just sorry I don’t have a toothbrush for you, but you can use some of my mouthwash if you want.”
A few minutes later Copia was looking around her bedroom as Ellie was finishing her nightly routine in the bathroom. There was a lack of anything on the walls and Copia realized it was because Ellie didn’t want to make the place feel like home if she was going to have to move again. A lot of her furniture was old and he wondered if she rented the apartment already furnished. He couldn’t see Ellie lugging all these pieces of the stairs by herself even if she bought them all secondhand. He moved to her dresser where she had a picture of a man that looked like her in a military uniform. Copia knew that was her father. Next to the frame was an assortment of crystals along with the necklace she wore all the time.
“You mentioned you believed crystals could protect you,” Copia said when Ellie came into the room. He turned to look at her and found himself breathless. She was in long, loose-fitting, blue pajama pants and a black t-shirt that seemed to cling to every curve of her body. She was stunning.
“Oh, yeah, I guess,” Ellie said. “A few years ago I got really into occult stuff—crystals, tarot cards, stuff like that. I always liked the idea that crystals have energies and properties that could be used for healing for protection. I picked some up from a little shop and the lady who ran it gave me this black tourmaline necklace. She said it would help ward off negative energies. I felt like I needed it so I wear it every day. For the most part, it’s done me well I suppose. Well, until recent events.” Ellie shrugged. “But that’s not the fault of a crystal. I guess…I guess this was always meant to happen the way it did.” She shrugged. “What do you think? Do you think they hold power?”
“I do,” Copia said. “We use crystals and herbs in a lot of rituals. Witchcraft and the occult are welcomed practices in our faith. They often go hand-in-hand with one another.” He watched as she pulled back the blankets on her bed and got in. “I’m going to use you bathroom and then I’ll be right back.”
Ellie nodded and he left the room for the little bathroom next door. He closed the door behind him and let out the breath he had been holding since the moment he got the call from the ghouls. When they told him that Ethan had gotten into her apartment and had her, Copia thought everything was over before it started—that he wasted what precious little time he had with her and that she had slipped from his fingers. He reminded himself to breathe.
He hadn’t lost her. She was safe, unharmed, and more importantly, free of the man who made her life a nightmare. Ellie was free to live and thrive and he wanted nothing more than for her to do those things.
Copia splashed some water onto his face, removing as much of the black paint around his eyes and on his upper lip as he could. He took a swig of the mouthwash Ellie offered and rinsed his mouth before returning to her bedroom. She was already in bed, sitting up against her pillows on one side with the cover pulled up to her waist.
“Thanks for staying,” Ellie said as Copia toed off his shoes and sat down on the edge of the bed. “I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep tonight if I am alone.”
“You had quite the day,” he said. “I’m happy to help, even if it’s just to be here so you can sleep.”
She smiled and he felt his heart, which was already racing from anxiety, begin to race for another reason. To see her sitting there warm in her bed and safe made every single panic-inducing thought all worth it in the end.
“You gonna sit on the edge like that all night?” Ellie asked. There was amusement in her stormy eyes and he felt his cheeks warm.
“Eh, no,” he said, pushing himself deeper into the bed, lifting his feet off the floor, and sitting against the headboard.
Ellie laughed as she slipped under the covers and laid her head on her pillow. She was on her side, facing him and Copia knew he wanted to end every day like this—them in bed together just talking until they went to sleep.
“I have an alarm on my phone set for eight,” she said. “I have to go to work tomorrow.”
“I can’t tell you what to do, but I think you should call off and take the day to process everything,” he suggested as he pulled the blankets over his legs.
“I can’t,” Ellie sighed. “I need the money, and I don’t need my boss giving me a hard time about calling off.”
“Very well, but promise you will try to take it easy?”
“I promise,” she yawned. “I’m going to try to sleep now. Good night, Copia.”
“Good night, tesoro,” he said.
“Hmmm you still haven’t told me what those names mean,” she said, her eyes closed, one hand under her pillow and the other holding her part of the blankets to her chin, creating a mock cocoon for herself.
Fucking adorable, he thought.
“I’ll tell you. Maybe tomorrow though. Get some sleep.” He hoped he didn’t look like a psycho as he watched sleep claim her and her breathing became deep and even. When a strand of her dark blonde hair fell over her eyes, he gingerly swept it back without causing her to stir.
After another minute he slid down into the bed and laid on his back, listening to her breathing next to him. It all felt right, as though this was how his life was supposed to be.
But he knew it wasn’t…not yet anyway…
Tumblr media
Ellie woke when a strip of sunlight peeked through the one broken blade of her blinds and shined right into her eye. She clenched her eyes hard, trying to fight the urge to wake. She knew her alarm hadn’t gone off yet, but she didn’t want to get up yet. She was so comfy with her blanket wrapped around her, the heavyweight against her back, and the arm draped over her stomach.
Her eyes popped open at that.
She was still as she felt the body spooning her while her mind searched for an explanation. Copia, she thought. It’s just Copia. I asked him to stay and he did and now he’s spooning me. She knew he probably didn’t mean to and that he did it unconsciously, but she didn’t want to embarrass him if he woke up and they were still in that position.
No matter how comfortable Ellie felt or how right it all felt.
She felt so cared for and safe, and she didn’t want to leave. If she had it her way they’d stay like that until the end of time. But her logic told her she needed to get up before he woke up, so she very carefully slipped out from his hold, grabbed her phone, and padded her way to the bathroom. A couple minutes later she emerged and began to boil some water for some tea. She was glad she had two mugs and hoped Copia liked tea.
At eight she let her alarm go off before silencing it and taking the boiling kettle off the heat. She poured the water over the teabags in each mug and added sugar and milk to her own before going into her bedroom.
Copia had rolled over onto his stomach since she left the bed. His arm was draped over her pillow and Ellie didn’t want to wake him. She knew she had to though. He was probably busy and she had to work in an hour. She came up to his side of the bed and gently shook his shoulder.
“Copia,” she said softly. “It’s eight.”
He groaned. “Okay, okay,” he muttered as he sat up. He rubbed his eyes and blinked, as though he didn’t remember where he was at first. He looked around and then his eyes landed on her. “Buongiorno.”
“Morning,” Ellie responded. “I have tea if you want some. No coffee though, sorry.”
“Tea is great,” Copia said as he swung his legs over the side of the bed. “I prefer tea over coffee in the morning anyway.”
“Sleep well?” Ellie asked, curious to know if he remembered holding her.
“Si, I did. Very well actually. How about you?”
“I think that might have been the best night of sleep I’ve ever had,” Ellie admitted as she led the way into the kitchen after Copia got his shoes on. “I didn’t put any sugar or milk in your tea. I didn’t know how you liked it.”
“A little bit of sugar and a little bit of milk,” he said pinching his fingers. Ellie watched as he prepared his tea and made note of the ratios he used. “The best night of sleep you ever had, huh?”
“Yeah,” Ellie said. “Because…because I didn’t have to worry for the first time in years.” It wasn’t a complete lie, but it wasn’t totally the truth. She knew it was because he was there and he was holding her.
“Ah, yes that is a nice feeling isn’t it?” He said before sipping his tea. “What are you going to do with your newfound freedom?”
“Finally live my life,” Ellie smiled. “I’m going to stay here and work on making this place a home.”
Copia beamed. “Good.”
After her tea was finished, Ellie excused herself to get ready for work. Once she was dressed she found Copia washing her mugs. “You didn’t have to do that,” she said.
“It’s alright,” Copia said. “I want to help.” He tried his hands with a paper towel and turned to her, looking her up and down. Ellie didn’t think she looked particularly special. She was just in jeans and a black long-sleeved shirt. “Do you mind if I walk you to work?”
“I don’t mind,” Ellie said.
They were standing outside of the bookstore fifteen minutes later. Ellie already knew it was going to be a bad day when she saw Charles arguing with one of her coworkers through the window. The man was red in the face and she could have sworn she saw spittle flying from his mouth as he silently yelled at the part-time shop assistant.
“I better get in there,” Ellie said. “Poor Ryan looks like he’s about to wet himself.”
Copia looked at the scene through the window and hummed in response.
As though he could sense eyes on him, Charles looked up and saw Ellie and Copia standing outside. He then marched over to the door and flung it open. “You’re late,” he snapped at Ellie.
“No, I’m not,” Ellie said. “I’m three minutes early.”
“Just get in here. We had a huge shipment come in yesterday and it needs to be put out on the floor,” he said before looking at Copia. Charles looked him up and down and sneered before looking back to Ellie. “This devil worshipper bothering you?” He asked before looking back to Copia. “We don’t allow soliciting here, buddy.”
“I’m not your buddy,” Copia said, eyes growing dark. “And I’m not soliciting. I was walking Ellie to work.”
Charles looked back to Ellie for confirmation. “You know this guy?”
“Yes,” Ellie said and she could already hear the insults Charles was ready to throw. “Copia is my friend and he was walking me to work.”
Charles looked back at Copia and glared before retreating into the shop. Ellie sighed. Today was not going to be a good day.
“Are you going to be okay?” Copia asked her.
“Yeah. I’ll be fine. Charles is just a bully and a bigot. Nothing I can’t handle,” Ellie said.
“Well, if you need anything, please let me know,” Copia said taking her hand and bringing it to his lips, pressing a kiss to her knuckles before releasing it. “I’ll see you soon?”
Ellie smiled and felt the pink seep into her face. “Yes. Gemma invited me to hang out after work tomorrow, so I’ll be up there then.”
“Wonderful,” he said before looking back at the window where Charles was yelling at the young assistant again. “Call me when you get off. I want to make sure that….man didn’t ruin your day.”
“I will. I’ll see you later,” Ellie said with a smile before going into the shop. She clocked in and turned to Charles for her assignment for the day.
“You can unpack and stock all the new Bibles and Christian fiction titles,” he said with a cruel smirk.
Ellie bit back a groan and made her way to the backroom.

Spooky (Swiss x GN! Reader FLUFF)
Tumblr media
(A/N Hey guys, so this fic was inspired by a tik tok from @mysanityleaving on tik tok and Tumblr, this was a lot of fun to write, sorry it's late things have been crazy. I hope you like it!)
You sat quietly amongst a group of your siblings of sin, lazily picking at your lunch while you had a few minutes of down time. "I'm just saying, he's absolutely terrifying!" One of them exclaims.
"Mountain? He's not scary, he barely speaks. If you should be scared of anyone it should be Sodo." Another one of them says with a laugh. They did have a point of being scared of Sodo, you heard he bites.
"How about you (Y/N)? Who do you think the spookiest ghoul is?" A small group of Copia's ghouls caught your attention as they walked past your table, giving your group small waves and nods of acknowledgment as they passed by.
"Swiss," you respond suddenly, "he's too charming, I feel like he can be scary when he wants to be." You couldn't help but let out an amorous sigh at the sight of said ghouls bright smile. You checked the time, shooting up when you realized how late it had gotten. "Shit, I'm gunna be late. Primo wants me to help collect herbs for the kitchen." You hurriedly grabbed your things, rushing past the group of ghouls, and apologizing profusely as you rushed off for knocking into Swiss' shoulder. You crashed through the garden gate, throwing your things down on the ground by one of the sheds. "Papa! Sorry I'm late!" You ran down the path to where the plot of herbs was to find Primo standing with the last person you expected to see. "Ah, (Y/N), there you are. I've unfortunately been called away to a meeting with my brothers, Copia has sent Swiss to help you collect herbs for the kitchen." Swiss saunters in your direction, his gaze set on you.
"(Y/N), it's good to see you again." His smile shines brightly in contrast to his mask. You instinctively cross your arms in front of you, his whole presence left you feeling vulnerable.
"Hi Swiss," your voice was shaking slightly as you addressed him, "Papa, do you think you'll be back anytime soon?" You knew you weren't in any danger around Swiss, out of all of the ghouls he was one of the most outwardly caring and protective. However, there was something about being alone with him that terrified you.
"I should only be gone an hour or two il mio bambino, I know we have a lot to discuss about the new plants you want to start caring for." Primo's gaze instantly switched over to Swiss. "You better behave yourself while I'm not here, do I make myself clear."
"Crystal." Swiss responds almost instantly. "You don't have to worry Primo, I have only the intentions of helping (Y/N) the best I can." He grins at you.
"You come get me if anything's wrong, we'll be in Secundo's office in the west wing." Primo gives you a reassuring pat on the shoulder as he passed you. The second he was out of view you felt Swiss' gaze immediately locked on you again. You motion for him to follow you, mindlessly rattling off the list of all the different herbs you needed to collect as you led him to the plot you needed to be on. "You can start on collecting the bundles of rosemary I'll start collecting the bundles of thyme."
He chuckles slightly, "you're a lot braver than I thought you'd be." He squats down in front of the time, clipping off sections and placing them into a basket.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Your whole body was hyper aware of his presence next to you. He hums mostly to himself.
"Don't think we don't hear all of you talking about us." He grins over at you. "Why would I make you so uncomfortable?" He carefully creeped over to your side, you instantly felt like you were starting to sweat.
"Maybe... Maybe it has to do with your reputation..." You glance up at him out of the corner of your eye. Swiss' head slowly cocks to the side, he was studying you.
"I have a reputation?" His smile only grew as your words inflated his ego. You sighed, allowing your full attention to finally be placed on him.
"They feel your music... The lyrics... Are..."
"Spooky?" He cut you off, his fangs glinting in the sunlight as he continues to grin at you. He shoots you an almost innocent look, "Do you think I'm spooky?" Your breath felt like it was caught in your throat, your head filled with nothing but static as the image of Swiss in front of you began to occupy your very being.
"Swiss, you scare the hell out of me in the best way possible." You clear your throat, turning back to the task at hand. You didn't even have to look at him to know that the ghouls eyes were drilling into you.
"You have no reason to be afraid of me (Y/N)." He slinks back over to his section. "I'd never lay my hands on someone in any way they didn't consent to." He winks at you causing you to blush slightly. The time passed by rather effortlessly with Swiss. He could make you laugh very easily and he loved to tell stories, he told you all about what his life on the road with Copia was like. "You know, I was really worried you weren't going to like me."
"Why did you think that?" Swiss gently took your basket from you, carrying it back towards the kitchen.
"I know me being a ghoul and all can be a little... Unsettling."  He sets the baskets down and takes your hands in his. "But you're someone I have always been watching out for. I want you to feel safe when you're with me."
"Is everything alright il mio bambino?" Neither of you had noticed that Primo was back from his meeting.
"Yes Papa, Swiss and I were just about to head into the kitchen." You glanced down only to see that Swiss was still holding your hands in his, you quickly yanked them back to your side. Primo glances in between the two of you.
"Swiss, see to it they have dinner. They forget to eat when they get busy." His gaze shifted to you. "I want you in my office immediately after morning mass tomorrow, we need to discuss your ideas for the garden."
"Of course, thank you Papa." You nod in agreement.
"I'll make sure they get dinner, don't worry. I'll cook for them myself if I have to." Primo still seemed reluctant to let you leave alone with Swiss. You knew why, in Primo's opinion Copia's Ghouls didn't know their place, he thought the way they acted was way out of line. When you explained how you thought they added so much more life to the rituals, his response was one you had grown used to hearing at this point. "Well, I am just a silly old man now, I'm sure you know better than me." To which you would always tell Primo he's not that old.
"You two have fun." Without another word Primo turns and walks further into the garden. Swiss effortlessly picked up the baskets once more. The two of you engaging in delightful conversation the whole way to the kitchen. For having one of the wildest reputations Swiss was surprisingly soft spoken. He handed off the herbs, the siblings of sin working in the kitchen seemed a bit flustered that they were dealing with Swiss face to face. They thank him before rushing off, his attention back on you.
"Right." He claps his hands together. "The old man wants me to make sure that you eat, so we're going to get dinner."
"Swiss, we're not supposed to leave the Abbey." You say in a hushed tone, if the wrong person overheard you you'd be in trouble for even thinking of leaving.
"Who said we were leaving the Abbey? Come on, I think you'll have fun." He grabs your hand with a smile. You follow him deep into the Abbey, you weren't even sure if you had ever been in this part of the building. "Welcome to the Ghouls quarters." He pulled you through a doorway to what appeared to be a common room of sorts. Cumulus, Cirrus, and Sunshine were all going over performance notes Aether was attempting to help Sodo study, and Mountain and Rain we're currently cooking in their small kitchen.
"Swiss, there you are man!" Aether calls across the room. "Sibling, welcome."
"Guys, this is (Y/N), I've helped them with some tasks Primo has given them before, and I've been tasked with making sure they have dinner." There was an excited murmur around the room.
"Well what the hell are you two standing around for? Get in here and get comfortable!" Sodo exclaims. Swiss ushers you in with a laugh, conversation picking up in the room. You decided to sit at one of the stools at the counter, interested to see what Rain and Mountain we're cooking.
"You're the first sibling that's ever come down here." Mountain says as he effortlessly tossed the food in the pan. "How does it feel knowing you're cooler than everyone else?" He grins at you and you can't help but laugh.
"Well, it's definitely a lot different down here than I thought it would be." Rain planted himself next to Mountain, wanting to join in on the conversation.
"How so?" He finally chimes in.
"None of the siblings really know a lot about you, aside from what we see at rituals. I always thought you guys would be super intense, intimidating, scary. But, being down here with all of you, it's surprisingly... Warm." You jumped slightly when Swiss materializes beside you, his hands now resting gently in your shoulders.
"The ladies were wondering if they could steal you for a moment." He motions over to where Cumulus, Cirrus, and Sunshine were sitting, they were looking over at you excitedly. You nod, Swiss helps you down from your stool and sends you on your way, staying back to talk to Mountain and Rain.
"(Y/N), it's so nice to finally meet you." Cirrus pulls you into a hug. "Swiss has told us so much about you!"
"Really?" You can't stop your gaze from drifting over to the Ghoul, "he has?"
All three of them nod, "ever since he helped you for the first time in the garden he hasn't shut up about you." Cumulus says with a small laugh. "We were all wondering how long it was going to take for him to bring you down here."
"Dinner!" Mountain suddenly calls out. You witness Aether grab Sodo by the collar just as he was about to bolt for the food.
"We have a guest!" He chastises, pulling the smaller Ghoul backwards. "(Y/N), I'll hold him back until you're done, don't worry about him biting you." He says with a chuckle. You hurriedly grabbed your food, Sodo's growling making you nervous. Once you were out of the way Sodo bolted forward, piling food onto his plate while everyone else tried to shove him out of the way so they could get something. Swiss grabbed your hand, pulling you into the chair next to him as everyone settled in for dinner.
"So, you talk about me a lot, huh?" Swiss almost choked on his drink at your question.
"Who said that?" You gave him a knowing look. "That's why they wanted to talk to you. I'm sorry, I don't want you to think I'm weird." You grab his hand.
"You're not weird Swiss." His eyes study your face for a moment.
"I'm really glad you came." He gives your hand a gentle squeeze.
"(Y/N), you work in the garden with Primo right?" Aether asks, the night passed by quickly. You felt entirely at home with the table of Ghouls. They asked you about your life at the Abbey, as well as getting to know you as a person. Before you knew it, it was midnight. You said goodnight to your new friends and Swiss accompanied you back to your dorm.
"So, do you still think we're spooky?" You smile down at your feet, trying to hide your blushing form from Swiss.
"No, definitely not spooky. I haven't had that much fun in a while." You had never been out in the halls this late. It was silent except for the sound of yours and Swiss' footsteps on the marble floors.
"You're welcome back anytime you'd like... And I'm really hoping you'll come back to see me." You both smiled at each other, walking the rest of the way back to your room in a comfortable silence. The two of you stood in opposite sides of your door. "Well, I guess this is goodnight."
"Unfortunately." You swayed slightly on your heels. "I had a really good time tonight."
"So did I." You both stood there in silence for another moment. Both of you searching desperately for something to say.
"Goodnight, Swiss." You say with a small smile, slowly opening your door.
"Goodnight, (Y/N)." He gives you a small smile. You start to head into your room when Swiss quietly says your name. You turn to back to him, his lips crashing into yours. You let out a surprised squeak, gently getting pushed back into the wall. You grabbed Swiss by his collar pulling him as close to you as possible. You suddenly felt the fabric slip from your fingers, Swiss making some distance between the two of you. "If you need any help in the garden tomorrow make sure to give me a call." He grins at you. "I'll see you soon sweetheart." You giggled slightly to yourself, after today you didn't think Swiss was so spooky anymore.

Note
Ive tried numerous times, but I cant seem to spit it out onto paper. The thoughts are in my head, but THEY WILL NOT COME OUT. So Ive elected to pass this on.
Now imagine:
Dew and the rest are out on tour while Aether is back at the abbey. Copia gets a hotel for a night as a treat and Dew and Swiss room together. What Dew doesnt know is, Aether has plans to fuck him tonight— kinda.
He’s decided to use Swiss as a proxy, so he’s on the phone and talking filthy shit, telling Swiss what to do, how fast and how slow. He may or may not be calling Swiss a glorified dildo and he may or may not be implying that he’s a “decent” enough replacement for now, but he’ll never actually be good enough for Dew.
He’s definitely got his pants tucked under his balls back in his room, both hands around his cock, trying to replicate Dew’s tight hole. All three of them get close and Aether makes Dew beg to cum, in reality, he’s been begging well before anyone else was close. Dew gets to cum first and Aether tells Swiss to wrap his hand around and squeeze his knot. “Work him through it properly, Spark”
Aether follows, spurting all over his happy trail and even up to where his shirt is tucked up over his tits, all while moaning his good boy’s name. They even pretend even more— Im gonna get you all messy Dew, gonna coat your face, stick out your tongue for me baby.
But Swiss? Aether never says yes, so Good Boy Swiss©️holds it. Once he sounds like he’s going to cry, he’s told to pull out and finish himself off somewhere on Dew— he chooses to add on to the sticky mess all over his torso. He maybe swirls his fingers through their spend, mixing them together, before shoving the sticky fingers in his mouth.
I've been staring at this ask for like a full day and a half with my jaw dropped open. I'm dying over this. It's so fucking delicious, you have such a big brain I'm losing my mind over this. First of all, instructed sex is so fucking hot, and Dewther phone sex is one of my (many) weaknesses. Just picturing Dew knowing he's probably going to get railed by Swiss but not having any idea that Aether has a plan.
Swiss holding the phone so Aether can see every single thing Swiss does to Dew--it's all about Dew. Swiss is just there as a tool for Aether to use to get his Dewdrop off. And Dew can look up at the phone and see Aether working his cock as Swiss scissors his fingers into Dew. Dew can see how Aether tightens both of his hands when Swiss finally pushes in--trying to pretend it's his cock he's watching stretch Dew open.
And it's all about Dew and Aether. And GOD Swiss is so good for both of them. Plays his roll perfectly. Holds back. Uses immaculate self control to be the last to cum, to not just blow it inside of Dew's hot little body to not just knot him right there like his instincts are screaming for him to do. Because he isn't allowed to cum inside Dew. Aether made that crystal clear. Not allowed to claim him like that, and Swiss has to wait, has to keep fucking into Dew's body until he feels like he's going to burn alive, balls heavy, stomach aching from holding back. Teeth digging into his cheek so hard he tastes copper. And yeah, as soon as Aether tells him he can he makes a mess all over Dew's stomach. Adding to Dew's cum already streaked across his flushed skin. Aether doesn't tell Swiss to feed it to him, but he gets a tired hum of approval as soon as he pushes those coated fingers over Dew's lips and into his (very willing) mouth.

Ghoul HEAD CANNONS
(SOME NSFW stuff 18+)
(Warnings: some sex stuff, mentions of blood)
(I am surprised that people seemed to like my last one so here’s another because I have so many floating around in my brain!)
SWISS: Swiss is like that older brother who likes to trick others into believing things he’s made up. Like one time when Phantom was newly summoned he asked why they used to call Copia, Cardinal and Swiss told him Copia was actually a bird and would fly away during winter. It ended with Copia being very confused and consoling a devastated ghoul. Swiss got in trouble later on but he still thought it was hilarious! His favorite movie is Footloose and he knows all the moves! He can become overwhelmingly hyper to the point it’s hard to control himself and if he’s like this during sex, well you won’t be walking the next day, that’s for sure! He’s very affectionate and playful but there are times when he just wants to be completely alone. Swiss is always dancing. It doesn’t matter where he is or what he’s doing, those hips are moving!
SODO: Sodo is often times grumpy but like Swiss, he can get overly hyper in a pretty rough way! He especially gets like this during heat and he gets feral! He likes to perch on the couch like a gremlin especially when he’s interested in a movie they’re watching, especially if it’s one of his favorites like nightmare on elm street! He’s been afraid of thunderstorms ever since his transition from water to fire but his ego keeps him from telling the others so he spends nights like that in his closet curled up. His stuffed animal collection is very important to him and they all have to be positioned just right on his shelf. He’s been caught eating cigarette’s before by Copia and the two just stared at each other until Copia just backed away. He loves the smell and taste of blood so he’s got a definite blood kink in bed and will often times be rough enough to cause some bruising and bleeding!
Rain: Rain is pretty reserved compared to the others but that doesn’t mean he can’t be wild. If you let him outside while it’s raining, he runs and jumps like he hasn’t seen the outside world in years. He listens to ocean sounds at night and sometimes sleeps in the bathtub when he can’t get comfortable in bed. Aqua Marine is his comfort movie, I don’t make the rules! He loves doing puzzles and it makes him even happier when the others join him. He goes feral if his horns are kissed and if you play with his tail, he’s taking you right then and there! He suffers from migraines, especially after a long practice and he will submerge himself in the bath for hours. He may be a quieter ghoul but when he makes jokes, he has the other ghouls (even Sodo!) rolling with laughter!
Mountain: Mountain is like that one person who doesn’t say much but when they do, its the wisest shit you’ve ever heard. He gets achy because of how tall he is, always scrunched or bending down so if you want to show this ghoul some love, massages are the key! Forget-me nots are his favorite flowers, loving how tiny they are in his hands. He loves the Dark Crystal movie and will watch it over and over again. If you ask him what he wants to watch he’ll say it’s whatever you want but he’s too polite to say he wants the Dark Crystal. Choose it for him, he will be so happy! An angry Mountain is a very scary Mountain. Everyone quickly learned not to mess with him when he was having a bad day and Sodo ended up hurdling across the room like a discarded toy after scorching one of his plants during a spat with Mountain over dirt getting all over Sodo’s side of the couch. He is a cuddle bug and one way to rile him up is to straddle his lap and if he’s shirtless, trail kisses from his tummy, upward. He loves the feeling of your lips on his body!
PHANTOM: goth boy! Phantom loves old vampire movies, often stealing them from Copia. It seems like the majority of us agree that he loves bats and he has a big collection of books about them. His favorite is the black mastiff bat because they’re funny looking! He also loves being in the cemetery, a place he was often found hiding in after being newly summoned. He struggled and still sometimes struggles with his appearance due to his scars but words of affirmation and kissing his scars perks this guy right up! He loves being read to, especially when it’s Edgar Allen Poe stories. Phantom is very touchy. He wants to kiss and touch you all over every chance he gets. Tug on his shirt collar or pull him close by his belt loops and this ghoul is yours all night!

The medium and the nameless ghouls
Case file 006-5 Sunshine file The Director's Involvement
Sara whines up in hot water from her superiors after ratting out her former boss about his mishandling of her cases. The Director gets her a job in the clergy after she gets laid off from the district. Without the help of William and Detective John Stevens at her side, how would she handle her new assignments on her own?
Sara has returned to the clergy with a tired look on her face. She is on probation due to the investigation of District 9. Sara walks up the steps of the cathedral and finds Copia. He is wearing a long blue papal dress ordained with crystals and seven-pointed pentagrams. Copia noticed Sara looking exhausted. Copia excuses himself as he's shaking the hands of the brothers of sin.
"Sara?" Copia hugs Sara and kisses her forehead. "What happened? I was worried."
"Uncle Copia, I..." Sara looks at the Director with a strange woman with white empty eyes. "Markus?"
"Where are the ghouls?" The woman coldly asked.
Markus introduced the woman to Sara. "Sara, this is my secretary."
The secretary slightly bowed to Sara. "Omega and Phil left the clergy without permission and made a mess in Sister Imperator's office. We need to know where they are."
Sara sighs and looks at Markus. "Can we talk in private?"
Markus understood. They went to the Director's office. She started to explain what happened.
"You're on probation?! Why? You did nothing wrong!" Copia yells.
Sara looks at Copia. "Look, this isn't my choice. My superiors went too far. They tried to force me to sign a non-disclosure agreement. I'm a potential witness to their crimes and a whistleblower. I'm screwed either way."
"So, Omega and Phil are with you?" The secretary asked.
"Yes, they are being my bodyguards for now. My dad gave them the orders." Sara told Markus.
"Alex should have come to me first." Markus leans against his chair. "The ghouls are under the servitude of the clergy. They are not allowed to leave, even if they have consent."
The group heard a knock on the door. Copia opens the door. Phil standing there with a stack of four Frappuccino. "Sara, there you are. Did you tell them..." Phil froze as the director sternly gazes at him. "Just to let you know, it's her father's fault."
"We know," The secretary coldly said. "She told us. You became her bodyguards."
"Phil, sit down." Phil sits and starts drinking one of the cups. "You don't need that much coffee." The director told Phil.
"Fuck you! I earned these!" Phil covers himself with his wings and drinks.
Copia noticed Alexander at the door. "Mind if we come in? There is something we need to discuss." The director nods his head. "Maggie?" Alexander and Maggie enter the room and close the door. "Sara, We have some good news and some bad news."
"That's not good..." Copia wonders.
"Your electronics are safe. They are with Detective John Stevens," Maggie told Sara. "and granted witness protection."
"And bad news?" Copia asked.
"There's a warrant out for your arrest," Alexander spoke. Everyone gasps in disbelief. "You won't be going back home any time soon."
"No problem. I can find a place to lay low for a while."
The secretary smiles and leans to the director. "Sir, we do have an opening due to the death of Sister Lucia."
The director smiles at her. "Get me the paperwork."
"Right away, sir." The secretary leaves the room.
"Ah! ha..." Phil lowered his wings and hisses as he grabbed his head. "That hurts."
Sara asked Phil. "Headache?"
"No... Brain freeze..." Phil hisses.
"That's what happens when you gulp them down too fast," Copia told Phil.
"I won't be lectured by a man who still drinking from a juice box," Phil said in Terzo's voice.
"Uncle Terzo!" Sara yelled.
"Master Terzo, that wasn't very nice." Phil scolded. "Especially when you're using my body as a vessel." Phil looks at Copia. "I'm so sorry, Master Copia."
"No, it's fine," Copia told Phil.
"I'm sorry to interrupt, but what do you mean by vessel," Alexander asked.
Phil looks at Alexander. "Well, I found Terzo's spirit fragment floating around the clergy. I use the summoning chamber to become his vessel. It worked, but it caused a rift within the clergy."
"I heard rumors about it. The ghouls are dissenting the clergy council." The secretary enters the room. "Ah, did you get them?"
The secretary smiles. "Here's the paperwork along with the anonymous application." She hands the paperwork to the director.
"Perfect!" The director begins to start working on it. "Sara, I'm doing this as a favor. Since I know you can't do this on your own." He gives the contract to the secretary. The secretary gives it to Sara. "That's your contract. Sign your name on the contract, and we will protect you."
Sara took a good look at it. "Sierra Emeritus?"
"That will be your name within the clergy. Sara, you are an Emeritus. The granddaughter of Prime Mover Elizabeth and Papa Emeritus Primo." The director paused. "The clergy needs your help and Terzo too."
She hands the contract to Alexander. "Dad, take a look at this contract."
Alexander takes out his reading glasses and puts them on. "This is a witness protection contract." He reads the contract thoroughly. "Seems to be nothing out of the ordinary. Though this is a temporary agreement." He looks deeper. "I see... If she messed up, the contract can be terminated." He finally finished reading the contract. "Well, it's legal. There's nothing in here. That would hurt the law."
"So, it's safe to sign it, dad?" Sara asked.
"Yes, it's safe to sign it." Alexander gives the contract back to Sara along with a pen.
Sara takes off the cap of the pen. She gets ready to sign. Phil stops Sara. Phil turns into Terzo. "Don't do it. It's not worth it. I want you to be free." Terzo told Sara. "Once you sign, you end up a prisoner, just like me and my brothers." Terzo slices his finger and presses it on the paper. Hidden words began to appear. The name Papa III appears in his blood. The contract catches on fire.
Maggie looks horrified. "Oh lord, have mercy. You almost signed your soul away."
Sara and Alexander's jaws drop. "Those contracts had been tampered with?" The director sternly looks at the burned contract. "Head Sister Rebecca Imperator..." He looks at his secretary. "Check all the written contracts and applications. We need to know if they have been tampered with magic."
Sara turned pale. "Copia, let's take her to the mansion. Where she can be safe." Terzo held Sara in his arms. "Omega, I need you. I'm in the Director's office." He started to rock her. "It's okay. You're safe." Sara held Terzo.
Omega arrived with the three other soul fragments. "I got your message. What happened?"
"The contracts have been tampered with Sister Imperator's magic. Sara needs our protection." Phil told Omega through Terzo.
"Good thing I stopped her before she signed it," Terzo spoke.
Omega snorts the three fragments join together and enter Phil's body. Omega goes over to Sara and purrs to calm her down. He soon picks Sara up and carries her. "I will take her to the mansion."
"Alright, be careful with her, Omega." Alexander turns to his secretary. "Maggie, go with them. Can you keep an eye on Sara?"
"Of course, Sir." Maggie left with Phil and Omega.
A brother of sin shows up at the door. "Papa Copia, the black mass is about to start. We're waiting for you."
"Oh shit, the mass! I'm sorry, I-I have to go." He rushes out with the brother of sin.
The secretary left and closed the door. Alexander and the director were both alone in the room.
The director broke the silence. "So, you gave orders to Omega and Phil. Is that true?"
"Yes, a good reason for it." He takes the audio recorder out of his pocket. "Listen to this recording of the operation we had." He plays the conversations through.
The director's eyes widened. He lowered his glasses. "So then, not only are they trying to do harm. They are trying to ruin her reputation and destroy her credibility." He banged his fist on his desk. "Those mother fuckers!"
"I had to, for my daughter's sake," He puts the recorder back in his pocket. "District 9 is corrupted. They will go after her. I'm her father. I worry about her."
"District 11 already taking notice. Her friends have been asking questions. They don't know about what's happening." The director looked at the photos of Elizabeth and his grandmother. "We have to protect her." He looks at Alexander. "The clergy has some of the toughest ghouls to protect her from harm. We have an opening to replace Sister Lucia. We can put her to work as a nun until the trial."
Alexander smiles. "Thank you. She's safe in your hands."
The director shows off the family photos. "This is something that my grandmother would have wanted. For her sister and her family."
Omega makes it to the mansion. He lays Sara on the couch. The other officers noticed Sara being pale. "Hey, is she okay?" One of the officers left to get the sergeant.
Phil looks at the officer. "No, she is not okay."
"Officer Sara," Sergeant Jackson approached Sara. "Sara, what happened? There is a warrant with your name on it." Sara explains the situation with the ninth district and the NDA. "Shit! Did you sign it?"
"No," Sara replied. "My dad has the recording. He is going to use it as evidence against them."
"So, are you going to sue?" Sara nods her head. "I see. Get some rest. I can pull some strings for you. The ninth district is going to pay for what they did." Sergeant Jackson gets the walkie-talkie. "Lieutenant Kibbles? Can you bring William Parker to the mansion? Sara is here."
Kibble's voice appears through. "Understood, sir."
Sara sees Elisabeth floating around the main hall. "Hey, grandma."
Elizabeth stops and sees Sara pale on the couch. "Oh, my sweet little granddaughter." She hugs Sara. Then holds her hand. "What happened? Why are you so pale?"
"It’s a long story, grandma. I don’t know where to start."
"I see," She looks at Omega. "Omega, take her to our bedroom so she can rest. My husband should be there."
"Yes, Mama Elizabeth." Omega takes Sara into the bedroom. He lays her down gently on the bed.
"What happened here?" Sara looks at Primo by the door. "This is the second time you came to my room."
"I almost got my soul sold by a rigged contract," Sara explains. "Uncle Terzo voided the contract before I got to sign it."
Primo sighs and scratches his head. He takes his chair and puts it next to the bed. "I can keep an eye on her from here." He sits in his chair. "You can take your leave. Unless you want to take a nap with her."
Phil takes off his shoes and lays down at her feet. Omega lays down next to her and yawns. He purrs loudly as he closes his eyes. The purring sounds of Phil and Omega calm Sara down. Sara grabs Omega’s arm as she falls asleep.
Dewdrop enters the room and sees Sara. He slowly creeps into the bed and lays down on the other side of Sara. He curls his tail over Sara's legs. He makes chirping sounds as he snores.
William enters the mansion and looks around for Sara. Maggie was in the kitchen helping make dinner. "William, if you're looking for Sara, she's in the upstairs bedroom."
Sunshine calls out to William. "She is with Master Primo. I can take you to her."
Maggie tells them. "Let Sara know that dinner is almost ready when you wake her up."
Terzo follows William and Sunshine to Primo’s bedroom. Primo is asleep in his rocking chair. Sara is sleeping with Omega, Dewdrop, and Phil. An angry look appears on Terzo’s face.
"Excuse me?" Terzo goes to Omega and removes his pillow. He slaps him with it. Omega wakes up along with Sara. "Care to explain yourself. Why are you sleeping with my niece? You are my ghoul, not hers. Now get up!"
"Leave them alone, Terzo." William hears Primo from the rocking chair. "Sara almost had her soul taken by a rigged contract." The room became silent.
William whispers. "No way…"
Terzo crossed his arms. "This is Sisters Imperator doing. Only she can pull something like this."
Primo looks at Terzo. "Brother, you are out of line."
Terzo looks at Primo and yells at him. "Look, she has a grudge against our father for years. She even murdered us to put that brat of hers as the next Papa. She is keeping herself in power by killing off the council!"
"Those are just assumptions," Terzo looks at Sara. "What he is asking, is there proof of her rigging the contract?"
"Proof?" Terzo hummed while scratching his head.
"None?" Sara leans forward. "I have worked in law enforcement for years. We can all blame Sister Imperator. But without evidence, she is innocent until proven guilty." Terzo is pissed. "We have to do an investigation first. I know about what happened. If you have the evidence. You can convict her."
Elizabeth entered the room and greets Sara. "Il mio piccolo girasole. You’re awake." She rushed to the bed. "So, tell me what happened to you?" Sara explained the situation NDA from the district and the rigged contract from the clergy. Elizabeth gasped. "Are you serious?"
"Dad managed to pull some strings and grant me witness protection and Markus is letting me work here until things are settled in the 9th district."
William thinks for a moment. "Sara, you’re on probation. You can’t leave your house. Can you?"
"Only if there are specific circumstances where it could be granted." Alexander appeared from the doorway. "You’re awake, thank goodness." Alexander breathed. "I was worried sick."
"Sorry, dad." Sara apologized.
"Come on, it’s almost time for dinner. Maggie is making her comfort food. Macaroni and cheese with broccoli, mashed potatoes with gravy, and of course fried chicken."
Terzo looks confused. "That doesn’t sound Italian."
"It’s not. It’s American cuisine." William grabs Terzo’s hand. "Come on." He takes Terzo out of the room.
Elizabeth looks at Alexander. "You have to explain to me what’s happening here."
Alexander shows the voice recorder. "I will explain after dinner, mom. I am starving."
"All right." Primo gets out of his chair. "Let’s eat dinner and then we’ll talk about the next step."

Something In The Orange
Prologue:
There was something there as soon as he met Dewdrop, something intangible. He felt something in himself just click into place, like a key fitting that lock that will never open. This is that story.
Chapter 1 - These things eat at your bones and drive your young mind crazy
Rain was summoned to the abbey to play in the Ghost project, as their new bassist. He knew that the current one was moving up to the lead guitar position, but that was all the details of the story he had received.
It was discovered early in his life that he was musically talented. He was beyond skilled at many instruments but he played the bass as if it was another appendage. His talent propelled him up the ranks as a possible player topside quickly. It is a great honor to be considered as a replacement or new band member for one of Lucifer's many band projects on the surface, to spread His word. He was one of the youngest to ever be summoned for this honor.
Upon his arrival, he went through meetings with Cardinal Copia and Sister Imperator learning was expected of him. The Cardinal and Sister had already heard many great things about Rain’s skill. They offered him a welcoming “family”, a comfort to a ghoul who was for the first time far from home. Before leaving to get settled in the ghoul wing, Copia grasped Rain into a quick embrace, telling him to let him know if he needed anything.
He was ushered from his meeting to the band quarters by Aether, the rhythm guitarist. He found him extremely congenial, chatting Rain's ear off about what to expect from the rest of the members that had already been summoned. As he listened, they passed many ghouls and members of the congregation, all offering Aether a greeting and an inquisitive nod to Rain, many trying to stop them with their questions, but Aether propelled him along, ignoring the stares they received.
“Cumulus and Cirrus, they’re the ghoulettes that play the keyboards, they normally keep to themselves and don't hang out with us ghouls much. Mountain, Dewdrop and I have been here the longest. Mountain is quiet, Dewdrop is loud and rambunctious, he can come across snide, but he is a good guy and you should be able to get along well with him. From what I understand they are summoning one other person, but they won't be here for a few more days.” Rain nodded his head, trying to keep up with his incessant chatter, only stopping when he stopped in front of a large oak door..
As Aether pulled the heavy door open, the first thing Rain noticed was the large expanse of windows on one of the walls overlooking a crystal clear lake. There was a door off to the one side of the windows that led out onto a veranda with a fire pit in the center.
Rain looked at Aether surprised at the majesty of their accommodations, “Yeah, most of us were shocked with how nice the living conditions were when we got here, they treat us pretty well too, or at least the band ghouls from what I have seen.”
He continued, “This area is just for us, the other ghouls and ghoulettes that are working on other projects are further down the corridor after the door we came in on. Let me show you your room and then show you around the rest of the quarters.”
To the left of the door there was a hallway that ran along the length of the windows, with doors on the opposite side. The fourth door was Rain's room. Aether opened the door and ushered him inside. It was a large room with what looked like a king bed on one side, a desk, with a laptop and phone already on top of it. To the one side of the desk there was already a bass on a stand waiting to be played.
A large closet was on the other wall, which led into a private bathroom, including a tub and a luxurious separate shower with a bench seat and a rainfall shower head. It all felt pretty opulent. The floor in the bedroom was covered with a plush gray carpet and had a side area with two chairs and a small side table, a conversation nook almost. Aether went around showing him various features in the room, while Rain laid his clothing and instrument bag on the bed. The instrument bag contained a bass that had been in his family for many years, and what he had learned to play on. He was looking forward to getting it out and playing out by the lake.
Aether dragged him back out to the common area, showing him the large kitchen, stating many just went to the cafeteria, explaining the abbey would keep them stocked with snacks and quick items and if there was anything in particular he found he wanted he just needed to write it down on the note by the fridge. From there he took Rain to the living room, where they continued to chat and await the arrivals of Dew and Mountain. According to Aether, the two ghouls decided to get in some quick practice before they all would meet.
Rain heard the door open and voices drifting into the living room, getting closer and louder. He looked up as the two rounded the corner. Oh. Oh. All he saw at first was his long white, blonde hair, and his orange, gold eyes, almost like a sunset. All breath left his body as he took in the rest of him. He was very slim, and seemed shorter than Rain. His horns were shorter, with almost an orange pearlescent glow.
He was wearing a pair of black, tight jeans, and with a black long sleeve t-shirt on top. It accentuated his features. Everything was very fitted, and though his body was almost delicate, you could feel the power emanating from him. His eyes met Rain's as he accessed him. At that moment, Rain felt the pull towards him. The other man just studied him back, not giving away anything, that he too felt what Rain felt.
“....This tall guy here is Mountain, he is the drummer and the one next to him is Dewdrop, the lead guitarist, guys, this is Rain, our new bassist.” Aether seemed to be talking, Rain hadn't heard anything except the end.
So this was the lead guitarist that used to be the bassist. Great. He was going to be around him a lot over the next few weeks helping to learn the songs.
“I was thinking we could maybe grill some pizza out on the deck, and get to know each other, maybe meet up in an hour out there? Thoughts?” Aether asked.
Everyone nodded their assent and dispersed throughout the quarters. Rain watched as Dew walked into the room next to his. Their eyes met quickly before they disappeared inside their respective rooms
He closed his door quietly, taking quick breaths, trying to quell the feelings traveling through his body. Trying for a distraction, Rain unpacked his belongings and pulled out his bass to move to the other stand in the room. As he brought it out of the bag, he caressed the neck, itching to play it. Looking at the clock, he still had another 20 minutes before they were going to meet. He grabbed his bass and headed outside to sit by the water, where he could strum for a little bit, and clear his thoughts.
There was a slight slope down to the lake, with lush green grass all around it. He took a seat on the ground, and started playing a simple bassline that he grew up learning while taking in all of his surroundings. There were cattails at the marshy edges of the lake and dragonflies that flitted around them. The distant sound of frogs croaking and birds chirping. Not what he envisioned when he knew he was coming here. It was a beautiful oasis for a water ghoul, knowing he would be in that lake soon enough.
As he played, his mind drifted back to Dewdrop. Guess the distraction wasn’t working. Why did he feel a draw to him, something he never had felt before. He wondered if Dewdrop felt the same pull. He could get lost in those eyes...
“Rain, right?”
Startled Rain turned around and saw the object of his thoughts kneeling to sit down beside him. Nodding, he said, “Dewdrop?”
Dew nodded, “Or just Dew, whatever works. How are you settling in?”
Maybe he did feel it, why would he have sought him out so soon. No. Stop that. He was just being friendly, knowing that he was going to need to work with you closely over the next few weeks. That was it.
“Ok, surprised how nice it is. Looking forward to getting into the lake at some point, it looks peaceful.”
“You will love it, I am half water and that half adores it,” he joked back.
So he was half water ghoul, maybe that was it, like calling to like?
“What song were you playing, it is vaguely familiar to me?”
“Something I was taught when I first learned to play. It always made me happy and I wanted to see how it would feel playing it here, at least before I started on a new instrument with new music.” Why was he going on like this?
“It has a nice feel to it, maybe you can teach me it, or I can accompany you on the guitar to it sometime?” Ok. Maybe something was there.
“Of course, whenever you want, maybe we could do it out here, it seems to fit with the surroundings.”
Dew nodded and looked out over the lake giving Rain a chance to study him up close. His hair was more gold than white in this light, it almost looked like it had glitter in it, when a breeze picked it up it looked like stars twinkling in the sky. Beautiful. A stray strand pulled out from behind his ear, he longed to push it back and see if it was as silky as it looked. Dewdrop's face was all sharp angles, but when he smiled at something he thought of or saw, his eyes crinkled and softened those angles. He wondered what his face would look like when he laughed, what it would look like in ecstasy. Satan, where were these fucking thoughts coming from? Why did it make him have to suppress a growl?
Dew looked back over at Rain. Please, tell me he didn't hear that! Dew just studied him back, Rain looked away and continued playing his bass, his fingers stuttering as he realized Dew hadn’t looked away. He felt his neck and cheeks starting to redden in a blush. All of sudden, he felt something touch his hair, he brought his eyes up quickly seeing what it was, Dew was pulling a blade of grass from his hair and tossing it behind him. He smiled at Rain. It was as if he knew what Rain had been thinking moments ago.
Dew laid back on the grass and motioned for Rain to continue playing. Rain hands trembled a little as his fingers ran across the fretboard. He needed to get a grip. Quick. They stayed like that for awhile, Dew with his hands behind his head looking over at Rain's occasionally with a puzzled look that Rain did not see and Rain looking out at the lake, noticing Dew's feet tapping along as he played the melody of home.
It ended way too quickly, this little remote island of tranquility they had created without saying anything at all, when Aether called down to them that he was starting the pizza. Dew groaned and stood up, reaching out a hand to help pull Rain to his feet. He was so warm, he didn't want to let go. Dew grinned at him again as if he knew what Rain was thinking.
They made their way back up the slope and Rain quickly put his bass away in his room, before he rejoined the group on the veranda.
“Is there anything I can do to help?” Feeling bad that they were practically waiting on him.
“No, you are good, have a seat, grab a drink, food should be up in a few.” Mountain responded.
He found an empty chair around the fire and sat down. He looked up and across from him was Dewdrop who was in the process of lighting the fire. “As the sun goes down, it can get cool out here still,” he explained. The firelight played off his cheek bones and made his hair glow golden, gone was the glittery effect and instead it was like looking into the flame of a fire. Again, Rain needed to suppress that groan that was building in his throat. Dew came around to sit beside Rain, pulling the chair a little closer for easier conversation, maybe. Rain sat with his hands held tight in his lap, as Dew looked over at him.
“Would you want to help me get drinks?” He asked.
Rain nodded and followed him into the kitchen. Rain went to stand beside Dew at the refrigerator waiting for him to hand him items to carry. Dew seemed preoccupied and closed the refrigerator door without bringing anything out and just looked at Rain.
He looked like he was struggling to say something as he leaned against the island opposite of where Rain was standing next to the counter. He kept meeting Rain's eyes and then one of them would break eye contact quickly. Finally, he asked, “Tell me if I am completely out of line, but why when I look at you do I feel something, a kinship, an affinity, do we know each other from the pit and I am not remembering?”
Rain was shocked, he did feel something like what he was feeling. He quietly responded back, “I am not sure, I feel something different, too.”
Dew hummed at his answer and took a step forward crowding closer to Rain, “And what do we do about this, feeling of something different?”
“I don't know,” Rain gulped back.
Before they could continue their conversation, Aether yelled at them that pizza was done and what was taking them so long with the drinks. They quickly drew apart, startled at their sudden interruption. Leaving many things unsaid, they grabbed drinks and rejoined the others.
They didn’t have a chance to continue their conversation for weeks. After that night, practice picked. Dew would sit with Rain at least for an hour a day going over different songs outside of the normal practice. Never getting too close, but they could feel the electricity still there between each other. Rain still couldn’t shake the feeling that his life changed forever in that moment when Dew walked through the door.
Chapter 2 - It'll be fine by dusk light I'm telling you, baby
“Rain, you're going to want to play this song in drop D, the guitar techs will have a bass specifically tuned for this, but just so you know for practice,” Dewdrop was telling him as he was perfecting “From the Pinnacle to the Pit.”
They had been at it for hours, going over the setlist. They were both exhausted and had moved to the steps of the makeshift stage rather than standing the whole time playing. Sitting side by side for most of the practice, until Dew got up to get a bottle of water for the both of them. He didn't immediately sit back down, instead choosing to stand and watch Rain.
“No, that is the right note, but you may want to try playing it like this,” Dew instructed, trying to show him on the bass he had picked up. Rain tried again, but he still didn’t see what he was trying to change. It sounded the same.
“Here, wait, it is just easier to make the progression if you do it this way.” He came up and sat on the step above him motioning to put his hands on the bass Rain was holding, asking for permission to show him that way. Rain nodded.
Dew leaned over, placing his hands above Rain's to demonstrate to him the fingering. He stayed there as Rain tried it again, he may have messed up a few times on purpose to just continue to feel the hot heat of Dew behind him.
Dew reached down showing him again, and murmured in his ear, “Are you not getting this on purpose?”
Rain didn’t say anything, he was just enjoying the way Dew curved to his body as he reached around him. He subconsciously relaxed into his arms, feeling his chest rise and fall as he breathed.
“How are you doing there, Rain?” Dew asked as he moved his hands back from above his, to rest on his waist. Sliding his fingers along his sides, waiting for an answer. With Dew's hands not holding his anymore, Rain let his hands go lax, resting across the front of his legs.
“Rain?”
“Hmm?”
“I asked how you are doing? But I don't think I need that answer with how you aren’t responding.”
“Wait, what?” Rain realized he had completely succumbed to the feel of Dew around him and was not answering him. He sat up straighter and moved his hands back to his bass and showed he had the fingering down..
Dew just smirked but moved to sit back on the step behind Rain as they continued practice.
“You seem to have picked up everything pretty fast, I am glad we’ve had these times to work together.”
“Thank you. I enjoy getting to spend time with-I mean learning…you know what I mean.” Dew smirked at him as Rain ran his hands through his hair, nervously.
“I do know what you mean.” He reached forward and brushed a lock out of Rain’s face. Realizing what he did, he stood up and moved away. “I think we are good for today, same time tomorrow?” Without waiting for Rain’s answer he exited out the door.
Rain just sighed, and wondered how much he had just fucked up this growing friendship and if he even cared, as long as he could be that close to Dew again.
*****************
After a few weeks of getting settled, Papa asked if there was anything he didn't have that he might need. After being around some of the other ghouls he found he needed some more basic odds and ends, which he passed on to Papa. In turn Papa arranged a visit to the city a few days later and told Rain the time to be out front and ready to go. Thinking that it might be a group of them going or some random abbey brother or sister, he was surprised to only find Dewdrop in the driver's seat of the car out front.
“I didn't realize you drove, is it just us or are others coming?” Rain asked, straining his neck to see if others were coming towards the car.
Dew looked over at him with a smile, “Nope, just us, I had some stuff to pick up and asked if I could take you.”
“Oh.” Surprise didn't start to cover how he felt. Yeah, they had talked and had that one instance in the practice room, but it had mostly only been about music. Dew had kept his distance, always on the periphery of the group, and Rain was trying to stay away until he figured out what he was feeling.
“The drive is about an hour, if you want to find some music on my phone to play.” Rain nodded and set out to find some while Dewdrop drove.
It was a beautiful day, the windows were down, they both had their sunglasses on and Rain lounged back in his seat, putting his one foot up on the dashboard as they drove. Taking in the scenery and being content to be close to Dew, even if that is all he got. As different songs played that either of them knew, they would quietly sing along.
At one point Rain noticed that Dew kept his hand on the middle console, doing all the driving with his other hand on the wheel. He could see all the veins and tendons as he relaxed, sometimes tapping along with the music. When Rain sat down initially, he didn't realize that he had also put his arm on the consol. They were so close to touching and when the car took a sharp corner their forearms came together, causing the back of their hands to rest next to each other.
Rain didn't know what to do, his mind screamed to move his hand away, but he couldn't force himself to move at all. And the realization, he delighted that it seemed like Dewdrop wasn't moving his either. Rain could feel the heat from Dew, being this close to him. He took shallow breaths settling into the close proximity, not wanting to break the spell he felt they were under. As the next song came on and he relaxed into this new position, Dew reached out his pinky and ran it along the edge of Rain's palm. He looked over at Dew in surprise, he had a slight smile on his face, and continued to touch his palm. Rain was going to die, what was he doing? It was going to kill him. At the next red light, Dewdrop looked over at him and flipped his hand over, threading their fingers together.
Very quietly, he asked, “Is this ok?” Rain just nodded and tried to keep the groan internal that wanted to escape out. Dewdrop smiled and grabbed his hand tighter in his and pulled them over to set on Rain's leg, off the uncomfortable armrest, but still entwined. Their hands stayed like that the rest of the trip to the city. The strength he felt in Dew’s tight grip, made him sigh with contentment. It was like that first breath you take after breaking the waters edge after being under for so long, that feeling you have before falling asleep beside your mate, perfect contentment, knowing your whole body is safe with them, that they will protect you through the night. Safe, loved.
As they pulled in and parked, Dew looked at Rain in the passenger seat, Rain looking at their hands, trying to not bring Dew’s hand to his mouth, to place kisses along the top of it. Rain didn’t see the smile that crossed Dew’s lips as he looked at him. If Rain had looked up, he would seen the happiness on Dew’s face, the want, the desire that had plagued him for weeks as he tried to keep his distance from Rain. It was torture that he just was granted release from.
Dew collected himself, breaking the spell by asking Rain if he wanted him to go with him or if they wanted to split and meet back here. If they split up they would have time to stop for a late lunch on their way back, and still get the car back for who had it reserved next. They agreed to split up and meet back at the car, neither overly wanting to let go of the other's hand.
Rain got everything he needed at lightning speed and was back at the car waiting for Dew about 20 minutes before him. The whole time thinking about what happened in the car earlier. It was unexpected and no explanation came with it, but it felt so right. He had hopped up onto the trunk, his legs tapping against the bumper, lost in thoughts of Dewdrop and his perfect hands. Not even realizing that he was quietly trilling to himself with the happiest grin on his face.
Before Rain knew it, he saw Dew making his way back towards the car, he was on his phone as he approached and did not look happy. His expression quickly changed when he saw Rain already waiting for him. His face lit up and he told whomever he was speaking with he needed to go and would talk to them later. He turned off his phone and shoved it in his pocket.
“You get everything you need?” Dew asked.
Rain smiled at him, and jumped off the trunk, stumbling until he got his footing. Dew reached out to help steady him with a chuckle.
Rain, flushed from embarrassment at his clumsiness, nodded and asked as they got into the, “Everything ok?” Dew just nodded and started driving.
“Want me to put music on again?” Dew handed him his phone to get it started. As Rain was scrolling through songs a text message popped up and he really didn't try to read it, but it blurbed across the screen.
Ifrit: Come on we need to talk, don't be like this. Call me.
Who was Ifrit?
Ifrit: Droplet, please. I need to talk to you about this, I need y…
The rest of the message fell off the screen.
Droplet? Rain itched to open the last message, was this person saying they needed him?
Ifrit: This is ridiculous, stop being like this! I l…
I, what?
Rain quickly picked a song, closed the phone and put it in the cup holder. Every few minutes the phone would ping that a new message came in. Rain could see Dew’s jaw tightening every time he heard it, finally at a redlight he silenced his notifications and continued to drive.
Rain wanted to ask, but he wasn't supposed to have seen the messages as it was. And if Dew wasn't offering some explanation, it wasn't his place. It was killing him though. Were they together? What about today, and the other day in the practice room? He had to trust that Dew would tell him if there was someone else.
Rain was able to turn his attention back to the music, tapping his fingers to the song on his thigh nearest Dew. He kept looking over at Rain's thigh as he tapped. Finally he just reached across the middle console and grabbed his hand, pushing it flat on his leg and laying his on top.
“I'm sorry, I don't know why but you are driving me crazy, and not in a bad way. Is this ok? I can't be this close to you and not want to touch you.” Rain's head was spinning, they barely talked, but he was on the same page as Dew.
“I feel the same, it is ok.” Dew gave a large deep sigh of contentment and kept his hand where it was. Soon Dew moved his hand slightly off to the side of Rain's hands onto his thigh and started slowly rubbing his fingers in circles on it. Rain was slowly losing his mind to the sensation and while he tried to keep quiet he let out a small whimper hoping again he wasn't heard.
At the next light Dewdrop took a left and ended up on a back deserted road with farmland all around. Rain didn't even notice, that was how focused he was on Dew's ministrations to his leg. Dew pulled over onto a dead end road that might have been a rock quarry at some point and stopped the car and got out. Rain finally pulled himself out of his headspace and realized Dew was opening his door at that point and pulling him out. He shut the door and leaned Rain up along the side of the car, blocking him in.
He pressed his forehead to Rain's and whispered his name between clenched lips. They just stared at each other with their foreheads pressed together before Rain gathered his courage and pulled Dew into him and softly kissed his lips. Dew sighed and wrapped his arms around Rain pulling him in closer to deepen the kiss. He didn't know how long they stayed like that with their arms wrapped around each other and just softly kissing, it felt like no time had passed before they started hearing a ringing in the car. Dew's cellphone. Rain started to pull away, but Dew just grabbed onto him harder. The call stopped, and then started ringing again. This repeated at least three times.
Dew groaned and pulled Rain to the side, opened the door and grabbed his phone, not abandoning his hold on Rain. Looking at it he swore and answered, “Hello?” Dew’s hand gently caressed Rain’s side, his face nuzzled in Dew’s neck opposite the side of where he held the phone, inhaling his scent. “ …. Yes, we are on our way back, we ran into traffic,” Dew continued on the phone. When Rain’s lips pursed and softly kissed Dew’s neck, he smothered the groan that desperately wanted to escape his lips. Rain was ecstatic that small touches, and kisses received this kind of reaction from Dew. “We will be there asap...yes...yes.”
“You are killing me, Rain,” Dew pulled Rain into another quick kiss, holding him tightly before letting go. “We are so late. We have to go.” He opened the passenger door and gently pushed Rain inside.
When he reached his side of the car and got in, “We still need to talk, Rain. And I am sorry we don't have time to eat, but I much rather have done what we just did than anything else.”
Rain agreed, “Soon?”
“Soon.” Dew agreed and reached back over and grabbed Rain's hand again and pulled it into his lap this time. Settling it on his thigh, palm up, where he grabbed it tightly the whole way back.
******************************
They tried to find time to talk, but when they got back to the abbey, Dew was pulled by Papa to look at some new equipment that came in for the tour. Rain went back to his room, but never heard the other come back in for the night. The next two days, he only saw him at practice and once down a hall, but he turned before he saw Rain.
A few days after the shopping trip, Rain walked into the practice room early, as usual. He wanted to tune and run through one of the harder songs for the extra practice before the rest of the band joined.
He didn't see Dew when he first came in, and he didn't see the other ghoul with him either. He sat down with his bass in his lap and looked up before strumming the first string. He guessed Dew hadn’t heard him either, as he caught sight of him with his arms around the ghoul, head on his chest. It looked intimate. Rain felt his mind stop in that minute and his heart shatter. He must have gasped because they both looked up at him at the same time.
He felt the tears gather in his eyes, he had to get out of here. He had no claim on Dew, they were just friends, who shared that one extremely long kiss. Why did it feel like his heart had just been broken though? Dew pulled away from the other ghoul and walked towards Rain.
“Rain…” Dew started.
“Oh, hey Dew, I didn’t see you two there.” Rain looked at Dew and then over to the other ghoul, and nodded hello, keeping his face as neutral as possible.
Dewdrop sighed, “Rain this is Ifrit, Ifrit, Rain.”
Ifrit's face broke into a large grin, “Finally, I have heard so much about you, so good to meet you, Rain!”
Hmph, the infamous Ifrit from the texts. Dew never mentioned him though, and he certainly didn't mention anything intimate about another ghoul.
“Nice to meet you Ifrit, I didn't realize you two were in here, I will just leave and come back at practice time, I don't want to interrupt anything.” Of course he wanted to interrupt them, his mind was reeling and needed out of this room and away from the two of them. He went to stand up and pull off his bass.
“No, no, I was just leaving, I wanted to stop and see Droplet before I left on business for the ministry.” He smiled again. “Stay, and I will get out of here.”
He was going to vomit.
He motioned to Dew to follow him to the door, he kept turning and looking at Rain as he followed Ifrit.
As soon as they left the room, leaving the door open and standing in the doorway, Rain reached in his bag and put his headphones on, he didn't want to talk to Dew when he came back in, he needed to get his emotions under check before he could have a conversation with him, like normal ghouls. He could see them in the hall, as Ifrit pulled Dew close and drew him into a deep kiss. So yeah, they were for sure together. Again why didn't he tell him? He felt the tears again, but tried to get lost in the music in his ears and warming up his fingers. He closed his eyes to tune it all out.
He came back to himself, when he felt tapping on his knee. He opened his eyes downcast to his feet, of course it was Dewdrop in front of him. He motioned for him to take out his headphones.
“What's up, Dew?” He really just wanted to curl in on himself. He couldn't leave the room now without it being obvious.
Dew didn't respond. Rain looked up and met his eyes and quickly looked away. He looked pensive, and unsure of himself.
“Dew if you don't need anything I need to finish warming up.” Harsh maybe, but he wasn't ready to talk to him. He was hurt and dying inside.
He didn't move. He stood there in front of Rain, his feet stance wide with his arms crossed in front of his chest. “I don't know what to say to you, Rain.”
What Rain thought was exasperation was actually desperation, Dew had no idea how he could right this, when they had only just started.
There was nothing to say, he read the feelings wrong. He read what he felt wrong. He read that kiss wrong. He wanted to be left alone and get lost in the music and block out all his thoughts.
“I don't know what you mean, Dew.” Play stupid, yes that is what he would do. “Did you need to tell me something about one of the songs, am I missing something?”
Dew just looked at him, Rain was now looking him in the eyes, playing stupid helped put a front up that he needed. He started to say something else, but more of the band entered at that time ending the conversation.
He went through the motions of practice, luckily he had picked up the music fast and was ready for the tour. He couldn't get out of that room fast enough. Dew kept looking over at him, so much so that some of the others were starting to pick up on it. Rain was on edge until Papa started his, “Ok, that's it for today.” He rushed to put the bass he was using on the stand and wrap up the cord neatly so he could be first out the door. As soon as he got back to his room he locked the door behind him. He slid down the door to the floor and just sat there in disbelief. What the fuck was he going to do?
He was deep in thought and until he heard a light knock, “Rain, we need to talk.” Dew. He ignored him and got up and turned on the shower, tuning him out. He eventually left. Rain heard his messages on his phone. He ignored those too.
Later that evening, he had to go out to get something to eat, he waited as long as he could to avoid everyone. He wasn't super close to anyone in the band yet, they were friendly, but the only one he had hung out with at all was Dew and he was avoiding him.
He opened his door and peeked into the darkened hall, no one was there. He quietly padded to the kitchen to grab some leftovers he had left in there the other day. Quickly heating them up, but trying to be as quiet as possible. As he looked out the windows waiting for his food to be done, he saw Dew sitting on the edge of the patio. In the moonlight he could see his glowing silver hair. The only light was coming from the end of the cigarette he smoked. He was looking out over the water. He was beautiful. As Rain looked at him, Dew turned as if he knew Rain was there. His face lit up and went to put out his cigarette and come inside. Rain quickly grabbed his food and headed back to his room. As he opened his door to slide inside, he heard him, “Rain, please.”
He stopped for a moment, with his hand on the door knob and leaned his head along the door frame. “Dew, I can't - please.” He walked in and closed the door behind him. He had no appetite. He threw himself on the bed and curled into a ball. He heard him outside his door again. “When you're ready, Rain, I will wait.” Rain fell asleep holding himself as tight as he could.
Chapter 3: I need to hear you say you've been waitin' all night
The next few days were a flurry of activity as they continued to get ready for tour, practicing blocking to see where their positions were on stage and the little choreo that they had. Papa, of course, wanted them to be as sexually explicit with each other as possible. Rain went through the motions, kept to himself, but did what was expected. And maybe when Dew came over to him in the songs they were to be together his breath might have hitched, leaning in for extra few seconds not wanting to leave his warmth. He felt safe in those moments. They would separate neither realizing the other would be looking back to each other, wanting to be together and feel that key back in the lock.
Rain was always the first to leave and would head back to his room. Dew would knock every day after practice, but Rain couldn’t bring himself to talk to him. Rain waited for this every day, standing on his side with his forehead pressed to the door, hand on the door knob, wanting desperately to open it but barring his heart from the hurt that he knew was coming. He didn’t know that Dew was in a similar stance on the opposite side of the door. Sometimes he wouldn’t even go to his room when Rain wouldn’t answer, instead sliding to the floor beside the door just trying to be closer to him. Rain was also on the other side of the wall at that time. Trying to figure out why he felt like this, why he couldn’t breathe, why he felt like his heart was pulled out of his chest. Why he just wanted to go home, but his home was no longer the Pit, it was here with Dew. He was so fucked.
They only kissed that one time, how stupid was he to get in this deep already?
Rain would get text messages from him after he left his door. Most times Dew was sending them from the floor outside his room. Rain didn’t answer.
Dewdrop: Rain please hear me out
Dewdrop: sorry I hurt you
Dewdrop: I need to talk to you
Dewdrop: I can’t believe this is where we are and that I fucked it up
Dewdrop: Rain
Dewdrop: Please…I can’t do this. Please.
Rain read them all as they came in, his heart felt like it was pulled from his chest. He started to reply at one point, he could hear the desperation in his messages, but then he erased it before sending. He just didn’t understand why Dew would kiss him if he was with someone else. He didn’t understand why he felt this way. He didn’t understand how Dew said he felt something too, if he was going to destroy him.
He finally did text him back.
Rain: Dew please stop…
Dewdrop: Rain!! Finally. Please!!! Hear me out
Dewdrop: PLEASE!!
He could hear him coming out of his room and to his door again, he knocked on his door, “Rain, I know you are in there. Please!”
Rain finally gathered himself and answered the door. He knew he looked haggard, the last few days had been horrible for him, keeping up a facade in front of the other guys, and acting like what Dew had done hadn’t bothered him when he was with him. The only time he let go was when he was alone in his room. He tried to be quiet, he didn’t know how thin the walls were. He always found himself on the floor of his shower after Dewdrop would do his daily knock, in disbelief that he could hurt this bad. He felt like his heart had been torn out of his chest.
What he didn’t expect was for Dewdrop to look the same, he looked like all the light in his eyes was out, and his skin looked so drawn and pallid. When their eyes met, Rain felt that instant connection again. He could see the hope in Dewdrop's eyes, it killed him.
“Hey.”
“Can I come in, or would you like to go outside, can we talk?” Dewdrop asked hesitantly.
When Rain took awhile to respond, Dew added with desperation, “Please, Rain, please.”
Rain turned around and opened his door wider for Dewdrop to enter. “Let’s go down to the lake, let me get shoes on and grab a hoodie.”
Dew huddled in the doorway, playing with his ring on his finger while he waited. Rain had noticed the ring when he was holding his hand in the car, it was just a plain black with a red stone inlaid in the band. He bitterly wondered if it was a gift from Ifrit.
They headed to the lake, not talking the whole way and sat in the same place that they first spoke at.
Rain couldn’t take the silence, it seemed like Dew, who now had him here, wasn’t sure what he wanted to say. “We really don’t have to talk Dew, I misread that kiss,” Rain started. “We need to be ok for tour so it won’t be torture the next few months in such a close space.”
Dew looked over at him, “Rain, you - you didn’t misread it.”
“Then why? Why would you lead me on, why would you do this?” He wanted to yell, scream. “We were fine as friends, you were the first one I had topside, I feel like I lost everything.”
Rain continued, “When I saw you, w-with him, and that kiss. It destroyed everything in me.”
He would not cry, please Satan, don’t let him cry!
“Rain, you don’t understand, I wasn’t leading you on, I feel everything you are feeling. Why do you think I haven’t stopped trying to speak to you the last few days? If I didn’t care, didn’t want you, why would I continuously try to explain, try to show you that you mean something to me?” His voice cracked as spoke. Rain looked over at him and Dew was already staring at him, with tears in his eyes.
“Who is he then to you? What is he to you?” He had to know.
“Please, hear me out. I will tell you.” Rain nodded, what other choice did he have?
“You know that I have been here for a few years, at least a year before I joined the band?”
Rain knew this already, Dew was extremely talented with all instruments and with the growing popularity of the band, it was decided it would be good to call him up to help with the equipment. Also, to be a backup if the bassist wasn’t able to perform. It ended up being an excellent decision on management's part.
“Well when I came they also called another ghoul, Ifrit. He was going to learn the lead guitarists parts, so he could step in if needed. Being that we both were looked at as a possible replacement, we weren’t well liked by the band members and were kind of ostracized. He and I became very close, sort of an us against the world thing.”
Dew paused, looking back out over the dying light on the lake. He continued to play with that ring and kind of huddled into himself.
“We became an item, I was absolutely in love with him, he became my everything, but we never stated exclusivity and I know he was with other people, but it didn’t stop how I felt.”
Rain wanted to die. He was in love with Ifrit? He felt his stomach drop and he thought again he was going to be sick, it was one thing to think this was how someone felt, but a whole other thing to hear it played out in words. All he could say was, “Oh.”
“You said you would hear me out, Rain. I don’t want to lie to you, I want you to hear the whole story.” Rain just stared straight ahead avoiding the Dew’s eyes as he continued.
“Our relationship could be tumultuous, but I didn’t see it, like I said I was in love with him. I know he cared for me, and said he loved me also, but I could never get him to commit to me, and that was where it started to fall apart. I wanted more than he was giving, so we started drifting apart. This was maybe six months ago. Then I met you and I knew in that instance, why it wasn’t meant to be with Ifrit.”
Oh.
“Recently, he knew my feelings had changed, so he started pushing for us to be together like I originally wanted, but I couldn’t. I wanted someone else, you. I told him that I didn’t want that anymore and that we were better as friends. He didn’t take that well. That day in the car, I know you saw the text messages coming through, that day I told him it was over and I was done. I would have never kissed you without ending things with him.” Dew stopped and was looking at Rain again, “Please, can you look at me?”
Rain made himself raise his vibrant blue eyes to take in Dew’s sunset hued ones. “I was planning to tell you all of this when we got back to the abbey that night, but I got called in by Papa and then I found out Ifrit had flown in and was demanding to see me. I didn’t want to wait to tell you, but I owed him this, for how many years we were together.”
“He knows we are done, but is not taking it well. I think he thought I would always be waiting here for him.”
“Dew, I appreciate this, but I saw you both in the practice room, I saw when you left, I saw that kiss, that didn’t look done to me.”
“Did you see me push him away after he pulled me in for that kiss? Did you see that I turned my back as soon as I pushed him away and came back to you?” He asked. “I am so sorry I hurt you, Rain, but I can’t not be near you, I can’t not talk to you. Please, understand that none of this was my intention.”
Rain looked back over the water, taking in everything Dew had said. He needed to process this.
“Dew, I was so hurt, I need time, please understand that.”
Dew just nodded at him. His eyes were sad, hoping that he would believe him. They sat there together for awhile neither talking, just taking comfort in knowing they were together. All Dew wanted to do was to hold him, to take his hands and cradle them in his lap, and never let go.
“I am going back inside, do you want to come? Or are you staying out here?” Rain asked as he stood.
“No, I will follow you.” Adding in his head, wherever you go, forever, Rain.
Back inside they stopped in the common room, as all the ghouls were sitting around the fire, Aether and Mountain telling Swiss stories about past tours
“Hey you two, join us!! Dew, we were just telling Swiss about that time we were in Mexico and we convinced the guitar tech to go up to the federali and ask for a light on his joint.” Aether couldn’t stop laughing as he told the story.
Rain sat down on the couch by Swiss, while Dew crouched on the edge of the armchair Aether was in. “Yes, we convinced him it was legal, and he would be fine.”
“He was not fine, and we got in so much trouble from Papa after they had to bail him out, they were lucky they were able to get him out at all.” Mountain snorted.
“Do you remember what Ifrit did, Dew?” Aether couldn’t contain his laughter as told the rest of the story. “He told Papa, it was just a cigarette and how were we to know it was illegal. Papa almost had a heart attack at how innocently he said it. Ifrit booked it out of that room so fast, taking you with him as his shield. I never knew where you two disappeared after that, we didn’t see you till the next day.”
Aether, Mountain and Swiss all howled, picturing Papa’s expression. Rain looked at his lap, was this how it would be now? Stories of Dew and Ifrit? He was so uncomfortable, but none of them knew what was going on between the two of them.
Dew looked over at Rain as the rest of them laughed. Fuck. He definitely remembered that night and what he and Ifrit got up too, he was willing Aether to just shut up. Rain’s eyes shot to his, he could see the pain there, he knew what probably happened that night, too.
Rain stood to leave, “I am going to go practice some, you guys have fun.”
“Rain…wait,” Dew called after him, but was over shouted by Aether.
“Sorry I should have said this when you both first came in, Papa is having a dinner tomorrow night, since it is our last night before we head out. We are all required to attend, it is here in our quarters, he is catering it in for us, it should be fun!” Aether stated.
“What time?”
“We are to be out here at 6.”
Rain nodded and continued back to his room, he could hear Dew following him. He slowed, he was going to try to act like what happened in the common room didn’t affect him.
“Rain, I’m sorry, they don’t know that Ifrit and I ended things, I will make sure they know, that should stop their stories.” Rain just nodded and went to open his door, Dew reached out to grab his arm before he could escape causing Rain to look back at him. “I am sorry, please think about what we talked about earlier.”
Rain ducked his head at him, and went into his room, closing the door. WHAT THE FUCK WAS HE GOING TO DO? He heard Dew’s door shut next to his, huh, he didn’t go back out to the common room either.
*********************************************************
The next evening, Rain made sure he was in the dining area and sat down, ready for this dinner to be over. He didn’t want to be there, he thought about what Dew said all day and he didn’t know what he was going to do. The only problem with getting to dinner early, was that there were many open seats after he sat, including one next to him. And of course, of course, Dew would sit next to him.
Both of them were very quiet the whole meal. Rain could feel the heat coming off of him. He could smell his scent, it was enough to drive him crazy. Why did he have to sit here? Why was he torturing him? How was he going to make it through the next few months in such tight quarters if they didn’t talk and figure this out?
As dinner was finishing and Papa was on his 6th glass of wine along with many of the others around the table, Rain pulled out his cell phone and texted Dew.
Rain: Want to go for a walk? Talk?
Dew took out his phone and a small smile graced his lips. He looked up at Rain and nodded.
They stood and excused themselves from the table thanking Papa and headed outside. Neither said anything as they made their way towards the path that wrapped itself around the lake. It was close to sunset, the lights on the pathway that lead into the woods would start coming on soon. Rain followed Dew's lead, instead of circling the lake they headed into the woods. Dew had both of his hands in his pockets as he walked beside Rain.
Rain broke first, he needed to make it not uncomfortable for the tour. “I am sorry, things are weird between us.”
Dew snorted, “Weird is one way to put it.”
Rain had to ask one more time, “Are you sure it is over?”
“Yes, It is for me. He is still coming to terms with it, but he knows it is over for me. We are trying to remain friends.”
“I've tried fighting these feelings I have for you, I am so tired of fighting it though. I can't fight it anymore.” Rain started, “but Dew, I’m scared.”
Dew pulled Rain to him pushing their foreheads together, “I am scared to, but I want to figure it out, do you?”
Rain nodded. Dew smiled, and his eyes crinkled like they did that first day, “Ok.”
“Can I show you something?” He didn't wait for Rain's answer, and grabbed his hand, pulling him along further down the path. About ten minutes later with no words shared, but their hands still entwined they reached a clearing that looked down over the lake. Dew pulled him to sit on a large rock that sat there. It was breathtaking. The sunset was turning the water gold, as the birds flew low going back to their nests for the evening, it was peaceful.
“I've never brought anyone here, this was always a special spot to me, where I felt my water half and fire half meet in this moment.”
Rain looked at him, “I wanted to share it with you, to show you that you mean something to me, and that you are important to me.” Dew leaned in and brought his lips softly across Rain's lips. “Please don't shut me out.”
Rain untangled their hands and put his hands on Dew's hips, pulling him closer. He leaned in this time and kissed him. Pulling his bottom lip into his mouth, causing Dew to open his mouth and let a small groan slip out. Rain pushed further, pushing their mouths together, tongues entwined. Not able to get enough of each other. This was the easy part. He pulled apart, knowing that they needed to talk.
“How are we going to do this on tour?” Rain asked.
Dew looked at him, “I am not sure yet, but I think we just take it as it comes. Start to spend some time together outside just practice and music and see where it takes us.” He looked nervous still, like he was afraid Rain would reject him. “I'd like to be with you every chance we can get to get away. Is that asking too much?”
“No. I like that plan. I just want to spend time with you, I've never felt like this before, it terrifies me.”
“Me too. We will figure it out together.”
As the sun sunk down and the moon rose they headed back to the abbey, stealing quick kisses on the way and hands entwined. Before pulling out from the cover of the woods, Rain stopped Dew and asked that they keep this to themselves for awhile, not to get the others involved. It would just complicate things. Dew agreed. They kissed once more and parted before heading back inside where the party was still in full swing. They headed towards their bedrooms and parted to get ready for tomorrow.
Rain was already packed and ready to go. He got ready for bed and laid down before grabbing his cell phone to plug in by the bed and set an alarm. When he looked at it, he realized he received a text.
Dewdrop: hey
Rain texted him back, Hi!
Rain didn't have to wait long for more conversation to come through.
Dewdrop: I missed talking to you
Rain: I missed talking to you, too.
Dewdrop: I am sorry I hurt you, that wasn't my intention.
Rain: I know, I couldn't deal with it though and needed time. I thought what happened that day in the car was a joke or something to you and I didn't know what to do.
Dewdrop: It wasn't a joke, I promise.
Rain: It is ok, I understand now. I am sorry I hurt you, too, by not hearing you out.
Dewdrop: I already miss you.
Rain's heart skipped a beat.
Rain: I miss you, too.
Dewdrop: I will see you first thing in the morning. Sleep well, Rain.
Rain: You too, Dewdrop.
Chapter 4: But when you place your head between my collar and jaw, I don't know much but there's no weight at all
Rain snuck out in the early morning hours before the sun came up, he was determined to get in that lake before they left for tour and this was his last chance. He knocked on Dew’s door to see if he might want to join him.
When he finally opened the door Rain laughed, his hair was all over the place, obviously just waking up from sleep. His pajama pants rode extremely low on his hips, leaving no illusion to the fine muscular lines of his body.
Look up Rain, look up.
He finally met Dew's eyes who were staring back at him intently, all vestiges of sleep having disappeared completely from his eyes.
"Hey!"
"Rain, hey, can't sleep?" Dew asked quietly.
"Actually I wanted to see if maybe this could be our first time we got away, just you and me. I wanted to swim in the lake before leaving and you told me that first day you liked it. Thought maybe we could watch the sunrise together?" He couldn't slow down, he wanted desperately for Dew to go with him, to start out this day together.
Dewdrop grinned happily, "Yes, give me a few? I'll meet you on the patio?"
Rain nodded and turned to walk away, but not before Dew grabbed his wrist and pulled him back flush with his chest. He put his arms around his neck and pulled Rain down for a searing kiss, which deepened as they moaned into each other's open mouths. Breaking the kiss, Dew nuzzled into his neck and growled lowly into his ear, "Did you like what you saw? Took you a minute to meet my eyes there, I know I like what I see."
Rain just groaned and pressed his body even closer to Dew's, "You're killing me."
Dew chuckled quietly and released Rain back into the hallway and disappeared back into his room.
They met on the patio, both in shorts and t-shirts with towels and hoodies ready for when they were done in the water. The moon was low in the sky, they maybe had a half an hour before the sun broke through the horizon.
The dock that jutted out about one fourth of the way into the vast lake was where they entered the water. As Rain removed his shirt it was now Dew's turn to not be able to avert his eyes. He knew he had a lean and muscular body, but wasn't prepared for the muscles lining his stomach and the deep cut of his hips that were barely covered by his white shorts. How those shorts were staying up he had no idea. A few more inches down and his body would be bare for all to see. Maybe the water would pull them down further?
Dew had to turn away before he did something neither of them were ready for, he ran his hand through his white hair and dove into the lake before Rain could comment on Dew's deep groan he let out. Rain quickly followed him into the water, never straying far from one another.
As Rain swam and explored the lake, Dew just watched him from where he held onto to the side of the dock. Getting more enjoyment out of seeing Rain in his element than actually swimming.
Rain noticed Dew watching him for awhile, he may or may not have been showing off so that he didn't look away. As if Dew even entertained the idea of taking his eyes off Rain.
Rain swam over to him holding onto the side beside him.
"Hi!" He laughed out happily, "What'cha you doing?"
"Watching a beautiful water ghoul, you?" Dew quipped back.
Rain shook his head as a blush crept up his cheeks. "I thought you were swimming with me?"
"But this is more enjoyable!" Dew laughed and pulled Rain to him again. "If you don't want me to watch you, then at least let me touch you."
Rain leaned up against the back of the dock, while Dew encapsulated him in his arms. "Can I touch you like this?" Putting his arms on his sides and rubbing up and down.
Rain didn’t answer, instead leaning into Dew's neck.
"How about this, can I touch you here?" He moved his hands from his sides to brush over Rain's hard stomach.
Again Rain didn't answer, but just melted further into Dew’s neck placing soft kisses on his shoulder as he touched him.
"How about this, can I touch you here?" He moved his hands further down, grazing over the tops of his thigh, so dangerously close to where Rain was straining for him to feel Dew’s touch.
Rain gasped as he felt his featherlight touch on his lower body, before Dew grabbed his thighs and wrapped them around his waist lifting Rain up in the water further.
"How about this, can I hold your body next to mine like this?" Rain just groaned. "Kiss me."
They smashed their lips together with all the heat and passion ripping through their bodies from the touches they had just shared. Communicating by their tongues in each other's mouth. Rain pressed his body closer to Dew's as the kiss deepened.
"I want you, Dew. I've wanted you since the first time I saw you." Rain moaned out breathlessly. He was completely wrecked by him.
Dew didn't know he could get even more turned on by kissing him. "I want you more than you can possibly know. I've never been this drawn to anyone before. If you're in a room I am in, I lose all interest in anyone but you. Watching you, wanting to be with you. Wanting to know what you're thinking, wanting to know why a smile crossed your beautiful lips, wanting to know why you creased your brow, wanting you. How did I get so wrapped up in you?"
As they pushed their bodies together, Rain could feel how turned on by their time together Dew was. He didn’t want to let go, they ground their bodies together, trying to get as much friction as they could in the water. Rain could feel the hard dock along his back, sure he was getting splinters in his back, as they rocked against one another. Dew’s finger pressed hard into his thighs, he wanted to feel Rain closer, more.
The water lapped around them, the world slowly came to light, glowing pink, then orange, then the brightest yellow. They pulled apart for a moment realizing they missed the sunrise, but not caring. The bells on the abbey started to chime and they knew their time of solitude had come to an end.
"You enthrall me with everything you do, Rain and I look forward to showing you that everyday." Dew kissed him softly once more before they slowly disentangled their bodies and pulled themselves out of the water.
Drying themselves off on the edge of the dock, they grabbed their tops and hoodies and put them on to warm up. Rain looked around to make sure no one was out before putting his arms around Dew one last time, Dew laid his head on his shoulder, between his collar and jaw as Rain whispered in his ear. "You are everything, everything."
***************
Neither of them realized that they weren't as alone as they thought.
Chapter 5: The orange touches all things around
The tour started easy enough, they were currently on their third stop of the American leg. Rain and Dew hadn't had much time yet to get away, but they were finally getting into a routine and had a day off after tonight's ritual.
Rain's bunk happened to be above Dew's on the bus, Mountain's above his. Aether and Swiss right across with a free bunk that everyone threw their crap on.
Rain laid in his bed that morning not wanting to get out from under the warm covers, but wondered if Dew was up yet.
Rain: hey, you up?
Dew: Yes, thinking about you wishing you were beside me right now
Dew’s message went straight to his dick, the thought of Dew below him, him wanting and wishing Rain was in bed with him-powerful. It did things to him.
Dew: why are we keeping this a secret again? I miss you and it's only been a few hours. Come see me!
Rain: we didn't want anyone involved, and wanted time for ourselves.
Dew: Raiiiiiiiin
Rain could hear Dew moving below him and all of sudden he heard his curtain open, and Dew climbed in, shutting it quickly behind him.
"Hey!" He whispered as he snuggled in next to Rain pulling the covers up over both of them.
He was on his elbow, looking down at Rain as he leaned in to nuzzle his neck. "I missed you, everyone stepped out a little bit ago to get breakfast, it's just us on the bus."
"Dew…what if they come back?" Rain asked nervously.
"You can hide me, let me on the other side!! Come on, I know you want me here as much as I want to be here!" He pulled the covers up and rolled over on top of Rain to get to the inside.
Of course, he stopped on top of him, of course. He leaned down and whispered, "Kiss me." He didn't wait and dove in to capture Rain's mouth in his.
Rain couldn't resist him, he brought his hands around him to hold him closer and rolled them to the side so it would look like it was just him in the bunk. He ran his hands down his back to rest on his hips.
Rain was the first to break the kiss. "You're here now, what did you plan to happen?"
"Nothing, I just wanted to snuggle and get to run my hands on your beautiful body." He had this mischievous grin planted on his lips.
Rain reached again to pull Dew's lower lip in his mouth with a little growl, pulling him in closer by the back of his neck and running his fingers through his long hair. He groaned between breaks in their kisses, " I can't get enough of you, this is torture when we have to split apart."
"I know, why do you think I crawled up here?" Dew slid his lips down onto Rain's neck pulling the skin into his mouth to suck on it lightly, trying to not leave marks. "I want to show everyone your mine."
Rain couldn't think, with Dewdrop pressed against his body and the noises he was making as his lips and tongue trailed lower onto his shoulder, trying to leave a mark that would last outside of where others could see it. Rain couldn't take this torture anymore, rolling over to press Dew beneath him on the bunk.
Dew pulled back a little in surprise as he was normally the more aggressive one, but smiled up into the lust filled eyes of Rain peering back at him. "How are you doing, Rainy?" Reminding them of the first time Dew asked that.
Rain could barely talk, "Want, ne-need you to never let go." The pull that both had felt early on firmly snapped into place between them as they had declared their feelings for one another.
Dew pressed up into Rain’s body, just as absolutely wrecked as him. "I want you too, but not here, not when we are so rushed, I want to take our time." He nipped at Rain's neck again as they ground against each other harder.
Rain wanted to say to hell with waiting, he was infatuated with Dew, he couldn't call it love, it was too early for that, right? He grabbed for Dew’s lips again, pushing his tongue in and capturing his. The sounds he pulled from Dew only flared the fire in him more. "Don't c-care, Do-n't want to…wait….need you..please?" He begged. He was so painfully hard.
"Rain, I can't believe I am saying this but let's wait until tonight, when we can have our own room." His voice might have been saying that but his body was not cooperating as he ground his dick back along Rain's.
Rain reached down between their bodies to grab at Dew, he knew he wanted it just as much as he did. "Your body is saying something else, Dew." He slipped his hand inside Dew's loose pajama bottoms stroking along his length feeling his already leaking cock kick in his hand. His whole body shuddered as Rain didn't let go but gripped and encompassed him with his soft fingers. Going faster and faster as Rain reached down to suck his own marks on Dew’s chest.
Dew let himself feel the pleasure, he was past the point of stopping and Rain didn't let up with his hands on him.
"You are so fucking sexy, I want to fuck you so bad, but I'll take this for now," Rain groaned in his ear.
Rain's hand on him was so delicate and yet strong, and extremely warm. He continued putting pressure on him and just rotating it right, gathering fluid from the top and pushing it down over his length as he moaned in his ear.
"I'm so fucking close, Rain." Dew moaned out.
"Good, let go, I want to see your face knowing that I was the one that brought you there." Dew came at his words, shooting hot liquid all over himself and Rain’s hands. Rain didn't stop gripping him as he took him through his climax, getting every drop he could out of him.
Dew collapsed back on the pillow, utterly broken and waiting for his breath to return to normal.
He laughed, "Seriously, not what I was anticipating when I climbed up here, not complaining, but this was not my plan."
Rain just grinned at him as he loosened his grip and pulled his hand out of his pants. "Let's clean up before the others get back," pushing the sheet back.
"Wait, what about you?" Dew asked as he pulled back on Rain's shoulder.
Rain turned his head and kissed Dew's palm, "I thought you wanted to take your time with me, in a hotel room? I'll wait." He responded mischievously, "Besides now you will only be thinking about me until we get there."
Dew groaned, "I already only think of you."
They got up and moved towards the bathroom, Rain washing his hands and finding a t-shirt to pull on to cover up the marks Dew had left, leaving Dew to shower quickly and meet him in the kitchen.
Rain poured the coffee from the already brewed batch into two mugs, he already knew Dew took his black whereas in his he just put in a hint of cream. Sitting on the couch he waited for Dewdrop to finish.
Dew joined him freshly showered and dressed in his usual uniform of black jeans and black long sleeve t-shirt. Sitting beside him on the couch, reaching out for his coffee with one hand and Rain’s hand with the other.
Dew never failed to surprise him, as he held his hand, he would circle his palm with his thumb and grip his fingers tightly, bringing them to his lips to kiss them. Yep, he had definitely fallen for this ghoul. Rain’s heart never slowed when he was in close proximity to him. They couldn't be closer on the couch to each other, thighs pressed tightly to one another.
Dew let go of his hand and reached over and put his arm around Rain's shoulders tugging him even closer into him. Rain placed his head on his shoulder with a soft sigh.
"I'm falling for you," he whispered to Dew.
"That's good cause I've already fallen as well." Dew pushed his fingers through the hair at the nape of his neck while Rain rubbed circles on Dew's thigh. Content in each other.
Too soon the moment between them was cut to an end as the others came back to the bus. As soon as they heard the door opening, Rain pulled away slightly and turned from Dew to the door, placing his back to Dew.
"Hey you two!! Finally up?" Aether's always pleasant demeanor infectious, "We brought back some breakfast sandwiches if you want one."
He handed two to Rain after both Dew and him nodded. Rain handed back one to Dew, who as he took it made sure he let his fingers linger offering him a small smile.
The rest of the group sat, pushing Rain and Dew closer again to each other on the couch, not that either of them were complaining. As they all broke into conversation, Rain tuned them out, Dew was once again distracting him. They were still at a slight angle to the rest of the group, so that they couldn't see his one hand. Dew kept dragging his fingers up and down over his back, lifting his shirt and pushing his fingers between the band of his pants. Breathe, Rain, breathe, he kept having to say to himself. Dew pushed his hand to the side of his hip and squeezed, pressing his hand into that beautiful curve. Rain gasped as electricity shot through his body and was able to cover it up with a cough.
The rest of the group ignored them, Dew leaned in and whispered in his ear, "I can't wait to watch you fall apart tonight." Rain reached back and squeezed his hand and removed it from his side, Dew knew exactly what he was doing to him and he had to stand up soon.
He finished his food and made his way to the back to get his shower. As he pulled some clothes out to change into the door separating the front and back opened and closed. It was Dew, no surprise there. Rain stood up scowling at him and moved to go towards the shower ignoring him. Dew moved into his space blocking him completely pushing him against the bunks, "I missed you already." And leaned in and kissed him quickly. Moving back and letting Rain pass.
Rain just shook his head and moved into the shower, shutting the door on Dew and his very fuckable body.
************************
After soundcheck that afternoon, the ghouls lounged around in the green room waiting to get ready. Aether had fallen asleep on one of the couches, and Mountain and Swiss were in a corner playing a game of cards. Dew was sitting in an armchair with his legs thrown up over the side of it, leaning back and playing something on his phone. He had his headphones in tuning everyone out, except for Rain who he would look over at every so often.
Rain for his part was trying to be a little more illusive about his interest in Dew. He had taken his cell phone out a while ago to text him.
Rain: 👋
Dew: hey sexy
Rain: Dew…
Dew: Yes?
Rain: you're incorrigible
Dew: with you, absolutely
Rain looked over at Dew to see him looking back with that sexy, half smile he reserved for only him. He could feel the heat in his body traveling south.
Rain: do you know if we have separate rooms tonight or are we paired up?
Dew: already taken care of, you're with me
Rain: oh? How did you pull that off?
Dew: everyone owed me favors and I told them I wanted to sleep with the only non-snorer. No one is the wiser.
Rain: ok. I can't wait to be alone with you for a whole night, not have to think about you below me on that bunk.
Dew: so you think of me when you're by yourself at night
Rain: how can I not? have you seen yourself?
Dew: have you seen yourself?
Dew: that ass, I swear I dream about it.
Rain lowered his head to hide behind his hair so no one could see the blood rushing to his cheeks. Dew kept typing.
Dew: that hair that you hide behind, I just want to grab it and use it to push you into me
Dew: those lips, all I want to do is kiss you and see you wrapped around me
Dew: those hands, Satan they fit in mine perfectly and around me exquisitely
Dew: those hips, I just want grab them and hold on while I fuck you
Rain: stop, I won't make it through this show tonight.
Dew: as long as you're thinking of me the whole time I don't care!
Dew: we are out of here as soon as the curtain comes down, I have a car already lined up so we don't have to wait for the bus.
Rain: fuck
Dew: fuck
He caught Rain's eyes again in his smoldering depths. As he licked his lips, Rain dropped his phone and just groaned OUT LOUD. Damn it Dewdrop.
Hearing Rain's groan, Swiss looked up, "Everything OK, Rain?"
"Yes!" Rain growled out, "I hit my elbow on the edge of the couch." He gave Dew another death glare. Dew snorted.
Dew: love you! Sorry! 😉
Rain's heart skipped a beat at those words, he knew Dew wasn't being serious, but damn if he didn't want him to be.
Rain: grrrr
Dew laughed, but also was disappointed that Rain didn't respond back to what he said. They were interrupted as the knock came on their door telling them it was 1 hour to curtain.
They all got ready, Rain turning so no one would see the marks left by Dew from that morning and once done made sure his bag was ready by the door to leave right after the show. Dew followed and did the same thing.
They made their way backstage and got suited up with their instruments. Rain held back with Dew for a moment, who when no one was looking ran his finger along his palm like he did that first car ride.
The ritual went well, Papa was definitely pleased with all the sexually charged ghouls, especially Dew and Rain who didn't stray far from one another. Not able to keep their hands to themselves for most of the show, and if it played into their stage presence so be it.
On the final bow, Rain waited on the end of the line looking for Dew who normally stood beside him. All of sudden from the other side of the stage he saw him run towards him and grab around his waist. Leaning in he asked quietly, "Ready to get out of here?"
Rain just nodded and as they exited the stage well before everyone else Dew pulled him through the tunnels, grabbing their things and rushed out back to the waiting car.
Before getting in he slammed Rain up against the side of it and brought his lips up to his, grabbing his hair, pulling him in for their most intense kiss. "Get in, I don't have much more resistance left in me before I truly take you apart."
Rain couldn’t wait either.

🦷+🥥 | i love your blog aesthetic btw! <33
omg thank you sm!!! I’m answering this for my ghost dr :3
🦷; list three dr-specific skills you plan to learn in your dr and how you’ll learn them.
hmmm… crochet, ballet, and surfing! the ballet is part of my backstory so I already know that, but I’ll pick up crochet from a hobby shop near my apartment! I’m still on the fence about if I should already know how to surf when I shift there or learn it the next time I go to the beach 😂
🥥; list three specific smells from your dr and explain them.
Ooooh! Incense from my shop, old books from Copia’s office (and bedroom probably hffbhfgb), and Primo’s herbal tea!
I own and run a witchy shop, and I sell mostly books but also incense, crystals, offering bowls, and more. I won’t have the incense being overwhelmingly powerful, but just enough to make the store smell nice :3
Copia, the love of my life, is, respectfully, a nerd hfhfhfhbf. I have no doubt that he’ll have a room covered in books, both old and new. His office, though? Probably full of huge, ancient books 😂
Primo, Copia’s oldest brother, is a man in his later years and is one of the Ministry’s foremost gardeners. He probably grows everything from roses and daffodils to thyme and basil. He is ABSOLUTELY a maker of herbal teas to combat a variety of ailments such as insomnia and stress. I love Primo sm 😭💕💕

“Cut!” Sister Imperator shouted to the camera operators amongst the noise reverberating off the marble walls and echoing around the vast corridor of the Ministry. You stood almost beside her, two Sisters of Sin separated you from her, and you flinched slightly at the shout.
The IMPERA Release Ritual had just finished.
People clapped enthusiastically as soon as Papa Emeritus IV sang the last verse of "Spillways", one of the new songs that had grown on you lately, and the YouTube transmission was interrupted.
Copia maneuvered around the microphone stand and looked from side to side as he waited for the Ghouls to join him. They held their hands and bowed altogether. The dying round of applause sprang to life again. The noise, a mix between the round of applause and the hubbub, was almost unrearable, but you smiled at the band and continued to clap until they had dispersed.
Sound technicians unplugged instruments, and camera operators pulled cables as people slowly walked and chirpily talked. Men in fancy suits made a beeline for the improvised stage, moving in the opposite direction to the mass of people. You had never seen them around. Your eyes curiously followed them as you patiently waited on the spot you had occupied during the last hour for the Sisters of Sin around you to join the mass of people, which moved to the Great Hall, where the after party would be held.
Sister Imperator, as the men in fancy suits, made a beeline for the improvised stage. Because of her priviledged spot close to it, she needn't struggle with the mass of people. She ran towards Copia and swiftly grabbed his head between her hands, squishing his ears and kissing both of his cheeks. Her voice reached your ears, and she congratulated her "golden boy, C., I'm proud of you!".
When Copia saw the men in fancy suits approaching, he quickly disentagled himself from Sister Imperator. It was impossible to listen to their conversation. It must have lasted a minute. They shook hands with Copia and the Ghouls who caught the conversation in the middle, and that was that.
The Sisters of Sin around you started to move, and you followed them. The mass of people swarmed the Great Hall. Most of its furniture – lounge chairs, armchairs, sofas – had been reorganized around coffee tables by the walls, which were covered by dark wooden panels, except for the wall above the fireplace, which was covered by a mirror. Red candles burnt steadily on the mantelpiece of the fireplace. The intricate details carved on the golden frame of the mirror danced under their flickering light, which added a mysterious glow to its surroudings. A thurible had been placed between the candles and its smoke lazily floated in the air in round puffs.
The long wooden table around which the Sisters of Sin gathered for meals had been replaced by a round wooden table. It had been positioned exactly underneath the chandelier, and a tall crystal vase of roses had been positioned exactly in its middle. It was surrounded by golden trays of varied dishes, at which you salivated.
Standing wooden tables had been scattered across the room. People had already occupied most of them when you entered it. The air was thick. The smell of roses mixed with the steam rising from the dishes and the smoke rising from the thurible. The firewood burning in the fireplace maintained the room cozily warm.
You quietly observed the people. Your sisters, scattered around the room, talked, laughed, drank and ate. The ghost of Papa Emeritus Nihil, sat on an armchair by the fireplace and talked to Mr. Saltarian and other men, certainly Mr. Saltarian's guests. Primo and Secondo, gathered around a coffee table at the farthest corner of the room, played cards. They had managed to attract a small crowd.
"C'mon," one your sisters wrapped her fingers around your wrist and pulled you towards one of the console tables bearing golden trays of varied drinks. Crystals glasses had been filled to the brim with wine, champagne, and water. She grasped two glasses of wine and handed one to you. "Let's get the party started."
And it did. Three glasses of wine and one glass of champagne followed the first. Your stomach happily digested the food you had snatched from the golden trays on the round wooden table in the center of the room. The atmosphere had shifted as soon as alcohol invaded bloodstreams. The air was still thick. But, now, the smell of roses mixed with the sweat emanating from the drunk bodies and the scent of alcohol. But, now, the firewood burning in the fireplace maintained the room lustifully warm.
From an armchair beside Secondo, you hazily observed the people playing cards. The players alternated at each round and it had gotten interesting since a "new" rule – ahem, a rule that attended every party at The Ministry whenever people started to get drunk –, one which obligated the losers of the round to undress, one piece of clothing at a time. Two of your sisters had already lost their veil, their coif, their scapular, and their belt. Their tunic was the only piece of clothing hiding their sins.
A bunch of grapes rested on your left hand and you lazily ate it. The dizziness caused by the alcohol had started to wear off. Although a fourth glass of wine rested in front of you on the edge of the coffee table, it had been there for more than an hour. You pulled it to your lips and savoured another sip of wine along with some grapes.
"Oh, no!" one of your sisters mirthuflly exclaimed at one of the guests as he abandoned the cards in his hand on the coffee table.
Another round had ended. The crowd mercilessly teased him, for he would have to take his button-up shirt off, which would leave him shirtless.
Terzo pulled a couple of grapes from the bunch that rested on your hand.
Out the corner of your eyes, you observed Copia.

The sun was shining brightly in from the window of the sisters’ dormitory and the sound of Primo’s song birds twittering away, trickled in from just outside. Saccharine stretched out in bed, waking up with a huge smile on her face and a warmth inside her heart that was unmatched. The sister always had a sweet disposition, but today was a special day. It was the first day of Lupercalia.
Tonight was the beginning festival dinner and everyone would be there for the celebrations including Papa Emeritus the Fourth. Since their confession of love for one another had been spoken, it made this year’s Lupercalia more special than ever before. It was always a magical time, one that Saccharine held the most dear to her heart. This year, she had decided to go all out. Her plans and preparations would include a fantastical display, one she was sure would wow them all. Especially one very timid and sweet Papa.
She got dressed in an adorable deep red pinafore dress and corset. Straightening out the line of red lace along the bottom, before pulling the corset laces to perfection over her white puff sleeve blouse. A beautiful bow—adorned at its center with a golden grucifix brooch, was perfect to finish off the look. Saccharine gathered her long brunette hair into a delicate braid. Crimson red bows the base of her neck and at the tail. Adding a bit of flare to her hair, before reaching for just a small touch of blush and a bit of gloss on her lips as she smiled in the reflection in the mirror.
“I got this!” she reminded herself, taking a deep breath. She slipped on her red pumps and grabbed her wicker basket before heading out the door. Bounding out to the hall, minding her step, she was ready. Keep close watch over her basket so as to not lose a single Valentine.
She had spent weeks making them. Each one, cut from layers of cardstock by hand, decorated in lace, topped with small crystals, and sprinkled with just a touch of glitter. No two were alike and each made with love for everyone who resided within the Abbey—ghouls and siblings alike. Saccharine wanted to let everyone know how much she cared for them, and as she made her way toward the kitchen she handed them out to everyone she saw. The recipients’ faces, lighting up at her generosity and being touched by her joyous spirit as she passed them by.
When finally she arrived, Saccharine burst through the kitchen doors. Immediately grabbing her apron and gathering up all her memorized ingredients. The sister was intent on making enough pies to feed the entire Ministry for the night's celebrations. She promised to single-handedly bake them all–plenty of cherry, strawberry, and even raspberry ones for Primo, for all to indulge.
Before she knew it, a cloud of flour, sugar, and determination was thick in the air. Suddenly Saccharine could hear the scurrying above on the overhang of the oven. "Ah! Buongiorno Gnocchi, Rigatoni. I hope you both are well this morning. Although I must say you best not let Sister Imperator catch you in the kitchen." She giggled. The little rats, watching her intently as she worked on her pies. "Oh before I forget these are for you."
Saccharine reached into her pocket and grabbed two tiny cubes of cheese, each carved into the sweetest little hearts, and handed them to the rats. "Surely I couldn't forget you guys today. After all Lupercalia is for everyone." She smiled. Gnocchi and Rigatoni, more than happy to nipple away at her gifts. Saccharine took a moment to wipe some flour from her cheek, taking a quick glance at the clock before panic set in.
“Oh no!” she said, scrambling to get on her oven mitts on before pulling a pie from the oven. The sweet smell of strawberries, and pastry crust, hitting her nose with exuberance. “Oh thank Lucifer it’s alright.” she sighed, relieved, exhaling through pursed lips.
“What are you doing all alone in here sorella?” said a voice from behind her. It was Terzo preparing to stick a finger into one of the settling pies. “Whatever it is, it smells delicious.” he purred until Saccharine gave his hand a friendly swat. He quickly pulled his hand back shaking off the pain a moment when she spoke.
“Papa, you no better than to sneak a taste. The pies are for dessert tonight.” Saccharine chided. Terzo sucked in his lower lip, a wicked smile pulling at the sides of his mouth as he continued.
“But sorella, surely just one taste won’t hurt?” he hummed.
“Uh…” Saccharine began before catching sight of Nova appearing in the doorway. She was a new ghoulette in the Abbey, bound by Terzo, and already so in love. She was extremely sweet and already such a good friend to her. The sister couldn't help but think the ghoulette had the most beautiful wavy hair. She had even loved to brush it, as the two of them spent time together in the sibling common room.
Now that normally sweet face was scrunched into a scowl as she approached them. “Papa! So this is where you’ve run off to!” the ghoulette hissed, realizing that of course he had been flirting—an Emeritus speciality.
“Ah si amore, you see the smell called to me.” Terzo laughed nervously as Nova furrowed her brow, her tail whipping back and forth so hard it cracked the wind against it. “She loves me, I swear.” he laughed once more as Nova rolled her eyes.
“The pies smell delicious Saccharine, I can’t wait to see you tonight for the big reveal.” Nova wiggled, sending a smile and booming with excited energy.
“Big reveal?” Terzo asked, looking back and forth between them, completely confused and covered in flour from a bag he managed to spill over.
“Oh no worries Papa, it's just something I have planned for Copia. A surprise so no telling ok?” the sister explained, hoping that she would not have to explain more. Nova shook her head letting Saccharine know there was nothing to worry about.
“Ah well that makes two of you. I hear mio fratello has a surprise planned too.” Terzo explained.
“Oh?” the sister exclaimed, her heart immediately beginning to pound inside her chest. What could it be, she asked herself. Her fingers tracing over the hem of her apron. Nova broke the silence between them.
“Well I guess we will find it all out tonight, see you later sister.” she said, sending a wink to her as she yanked on Terzo to come with.
“Oh no wait! I have these for you!” Saccharine called as they went to leave the kitchen. She handed them both their Valentine’s from the basket, a big smile spreading across her face as they took them.
“You are simply too kind, sorella, I don’t know what mio fratello did to win the affections of such a charming sister, but he is a lucky man indeed.” Terzo admitted as Nova nodded, pulling him out of the kitchen, leaving Saccharine to finish tending to her pies.
Copia was pacing in his office. A well worn spot in his expensive antique Serapi rug, picked out by Sister Imperator. He wondered if she would notice. One of a million thoughts flying through his mind as he palmed the square box inside the pocket of his crimson red swallowtail jacket.
He adjusted his black Victorian-style shirt, pulling down on his ruffled sleeves to even them out before looking at his paint, for the tenth time, in the mirror. Everything tonight must be perfect, he told himself. His nerves set on edge as a knock came at the door. It was Primo.
“Ah fratellino! I knew I would find you here.” the eldest Emeritus brother applauded. He brought himself over to the black wingback chair in the corner of the office and made himself comfortable as he spoke, “Still nervous I see?”
“Wouldn’t you be?” Copia admitted, the look of concern ever present on his face. Unable to be completely hidden by his Papal paints.
“No and If you think about it I don't think you would be either…well maybe not as much.” Primo chuckled. Copia sat opposite him on the lounge, tapping his gloved fingers and bouncing his leg. Primo reached out to place his hand on Copia’s knee, halting his movements and bringing his attention back to him.
“Listen you, have the ring I gave you, si? It was my mothers fratellino so I should hope you still—” Primo began barking at his younger sibling.
“Si, of course of course.” Copia said, giving his pocket another pat. Primo’s face once again relaxed with reassurance.
“Then you are set.” Primo shrugged. Copia became quiet for a moment. His brother made everything sound so simple. Could things really be that easy? Nothing else in Copia’s life had ever come to him as easily as his feelings for Saccharine. His whole life, he had struggled to prove himself. Even his ascension within the Ministry had been fraught with trials and tribulations, never knowing he was an Emeritus until after the miter had already been placed on his head.
“But what if she says no. I mean we haven’t exactly known each other long but I just…”
“Just what?” Primo remarked, convinced that Copia was overthinking as he always did.
“...can’t live without her.” he confessed, the words hurting his heart as they left his lips. A truth he could no longer deny.
“Then that is all that matters. You will see. I think the sister will surprise you.” Primo said, standing up from the chair. His old bones cracking and popping as he made his way back to the door.
“Maybe you’re right…” the reigning Papa hummed under his breath. Primo smiling and shaking his head.
“I am always right. I will see you tonight for the festival dinner.”
“Ok.” Copia replied, his gaze falling back to the floor at that damned rug.
“Oh and fratellino…do NOT lose the ring.” Primo groaned as he left his brother to his thoughts.
The smell was intoxicating as Saccharine made her way through the labyrinth of rose bushes that lined Primo’s garden. The beautiful shades of red, pink, and white—a testament all on their own to the celebrations that were to take place this night. The garden was a magical place and one that held the most precious of memories. As Saccharine made her way deeper inside, she stumbled upon the just person she was searching for—Sister Rosemary.
The sister, who also went by Rose, was a convert that had arrived at the Abbey a few years before Saccharine. Her forehead was adorned in a brand, she herself made, after averting from the Catholic church. She had to be one of the most friendly siblings within the Abbey and was the go to person within the infirmary. Always mixing and concocting new salves and potions to help others with their ailments. Tonight however, she would help Saccharine with a different request.
“Ah Sister! Give me just a moment.” Rosemary said as she set down her mortar and pestle before disappearing into the greenhouse. She reemerged only a few minutes later with a large sack that held out for Saccharine to take.
“Oof, is this all of them?” Saccharine asked, amazed at how heavy the bag was. Sister Rosemary began nodding her head.
“Well actually I sent another bag off with Cumulus earlier. But hey, they are all freshly plucked and none of them wilted as requested.” she assured her. “Do you need any help carrying that back Saccharine?”
“Oh…no thank you. I think I will be just fine, but I have something for you too.”she told her as she handed Rose her Valentine.
“This is very kind of you sister. I am sorry I dont have one to give you in return.” Rose sighed.
“Oh! It’s no worries. You have done so much for me already. They were a perfect idea, I can’t thank you enough.”
“You’re welcome, but I should tell you the roses were Primo’s idea. He said he wanted things tonight to be special for you.” Sister Rosemary admitted. Saccharine did a double take, did Primo know about her surprise?
“Well thanks again I must get ready, I will see you inside?” Saccharine asked, lifting up the heavy bag and gently tossing it over her shoulder.
“Of course.” Rose nodded, sending the sister a smile as she headed back through the garden maze.
All of her preparations had been made. The valentines all handed out with the exception of one–Copia's. Saccharine wanted to save his for after the surprise. Her beloved Papa had been detained for most of the day, caught up in his own preparations and obligations to the Ministry.
It was almost time. She touched up her makeup in the first floor restroom, hearing the hum of the ghouls tuning their instruments in the Great Hall. A smile spread wide across her face–dinner was starting. She walked quietly down the hall through the crowd of ghouls and siblings.
Everyone was dressed in their best Lupercalia attire. Decked out in dresses and suits, like a sea full of black, red, and pink as far as the eye could see. It wasn’t often that the siblings were allowed out of their clerical clothes, and Saccharine couldn’t help but enjoy getting to see everyone’s personality shine through in their chosen garments. She smiled at everyone as she walked, her heart pounding in anticipation of the one person she had still yet to see.
She looked forward to the moment they'd see each other. Her heart longing for him somehow even more today than ever before. This thing between them had only grown, multiplied, and flourished since the night of their dance under the light of the moon. Their romance, having blossomed so much that Saccharine no longer could see a future without him in it.
She found herself drifting as she navigated the hall, her mind swept up in daydreams of the two of them together. It wasn’t long before the haze of her thoughts cleared and the vision of her Papa’s office door filled her view. Finally, she thought to herself as she knocked gently on the door. When there was no answer she carefully began to open it, “Hello?”
“Sweetheart? Is that you?” Copia said as he locked eyes with her. His demeanor, changing from the nervous and fretful man he was moments ago, to the love sick Papa that only had eyes for her. Saccharine ran to him, arms wide open as Copia scooped her up in his. Spinning her around and planting the softest kiss to her lips.”Amore you are truly breathtaking today.” he smiled.
Saccharine’s face flushed a delicate shade of pink. A color that only added to the beautiful features of her sweet face. “I can already hear Aether and Mountain getting the band in order for dinner. Are you ready to head over?” she asked him. Copia smiled once more, gently feeling the box inside his pocket and nodded to her.
“Bene, mia principessa, sono pronta se lo sei.” Copia replied, holding out his arm for Saccharine to take.
“Absolutely,” she began, “I just hope Rain remembered to bring all the pies.” she laughed, Copia joining her.
“We can only hope.”
The couple entered into the Great Hall, equally as embellished as the siblings. With its lavish display of romantic colors and flowers that filled the room with the most wonderful scent. The mood was definitely set for a perfect evening. Saccharine and Copia quickly made their way to the head table. The two of them, taking their seats beside Secondo and his Prime Mover Ren.
“Oh Saccharine you look absolutely beautiful!” beamed Ren at their arrival.
“Oh my, so do you!” Saccharine smiled back. Secondo’s Prime Mover was heavily pregnant with the fourth of their children. She glowed despite being tired, having been busy in the infirmary all day with her own responsibilities. Yet somehow found time to help with the evening’s surprise. She was so kind and Secondo, normally the hard and stoic Papa, was a huge softie in her presence. The man doted on and protected her as if she were made of glass.
“Soon, si?” Copia asked as the ghouls placed the plates of pasta in front of them. Secondo smiled, taking Ren’s hand in his before giving his reply.
“Very. We are so close, we have been trying to get things going.” he smirked, Ren turning to whisper in Saccharine’s ear just what exactly that meant. Her words, sending a flash of redness over the sister’s face. Neither Ren, nor Secondo were ever shy about their own personal enjoyment of the cardinal sin—their bountiful family proof of that. The forwardness, a bit much for Saccharine as she laughed it off and twisted up a fork up of pasta from her plate.
Dinner was going wonderfully. The conversation between those at the table was full of energy and intrigue. The smiles and hearty meal had made the room filled with satisfaction and happiness. Saccharine finished her last bite as she caught sight of Sister Rosemary and the ghouls out from their seats. It was finally time for her to give Copia his surprise.
“I will be back in a few, I must go powder my nose. Please excuse me Papas, Prime Mover.” she said as she stood up from her seat.
“Okie dokie.” Copia smiled as she dismissed herself from the table, but not before Sister Ren grabbed her hand.
“You’ll do great.” she whispered, sending Saccharine a wink as she made her way to the front of the Hall. The sister nodded with determination in response. Copia tried to watch as Saccharine walked away, but Ren called his attention back to the table to help distract him from the real reasons she had taken leave.
“Papa, so when are you going to pop the question?” Ren asked, Secondo shooting her a look, “What? I want this to happen before I go into labor and miss it all.” she laughed, Copia joining her.
“Tonight is the night. I have never wanted anything more in my life.” he said. Secondo smiled over to Ren and placed his hand on the swell of her belly.
“I know the feeling.” the second Emeritus son hummed as he planted a kiss on Ren’s forehead. Before they knew it the lights began to flicker. The whole room, looking around in confusion as to what was going on when finally lights remained off, leaving them in blackness. Only the small candles adorning each table, illuminating the room.
Copia went to stand up and see what was the matter when suddenly the band began to play once more. Prime Mover Ren, pulling him back down in his seat as his curiosity began to grow. The lights turned back on and suddenly Saccharine was front and center before the Hall. She stood, flanked by Cirrus and Cumulus on one side and Sunshine and Nova on the other. Copia was taken back and unsure of what to make of everything until she began to sing. Her voice, energetic and full of passion as she and the ghoulettes standing beside her started to recant in song the tale of the moment that changed everything.
🎵I was so new— unsure of what I would do–🎵she sang, spinning around. The ghoulettes, leading in to hang on every note as they left her lips. She hopped on the piano at sat in the corner normally used for practice as Cumulus sat down to play. A performance unlike anything they’d seen more in front of the whole Abbey.
🎵To the garden I made my way, as the flowers called to me. My known destiny not far away🎵
“Destiny? In the garden?” Nova asked, giving the crowd a wink. Saccharine, singing her response. The story of her and Copia’s first encounter unfolded in melodic bliss. A group of siblings joined them. Swirling and twirling around her as she continued to sing her heart out. Copia’s own heart swelling inside. He could have never imagined something so wonderful. His beautiful sorella’s voice, filling his soul with all the love that Lupercalia could ever hope to hold.
🎵The roses were in bloom that day🎵she continued, the words belting out of her with so much power and love. The ghoulettes, beginning to clap to the beat when suddenly a cascade of rose petals fell from the rafters like the confetti at Rituals. Copia looked up only a moment to catch Dewdrop and Rain, hanging above, waving down to him from above as the red petals shone in the lights like glitter. A brother of sin went to take Saccharine’s hand, helping her to spin. Copia could feel a bit of jealousy creeping up as the sibling went to dip her but instead she  bopped his nose. Tonight—no doubt she would truly be his in all ways.
🎵”I never knew a Satanic Pope could be so charming.” I said as you stepped away. I knew then I would love you for all always….🎵
She finally began to walk towards the table. Copia’s heart was pounding harder and harder as she made her way towards him. His whole body, responding to her beauty as only a lover’s could. He knew that he wanted her always and in all ways there was to want someone. Longing to make her sing more, and more in his own way. She stopped before him, finishing off her song.
🎵After all it's true— I’m in love with you.🎵she finished, tears pricking at her eyes as she pulled out her Valentine to give to Copia. Without a second passing, Copia pulled Saccharine in and kissed her. His tongue, dancing with hers as he held her so close. Their hearts, syncing in their embrace. He pulled back a moment to catch a breath, his mind already drunk in thoughts of things to come.
“Oh sweetheart, così incredibilmente bello, Lucifero stesso è stato serenato dalla tua voce. I have something for you too.” Copia smiled, his eyes beginning to well up with tears.
“Oh.” Saccharine replied when it dawned on her that Copia had dropped to one knee. She took a deep breath. The sister, hardly able to believe what was happening right before her eyes. Copia pulled out the small box from his jacket pocket. Saccharine now unable to hold back the tears that spilled over her cheeks, knowing what was coming.
“There is nothing I want more Saccharine than to spend the rest of my days with you as my wife. My lover, my partner, my Prime Mover. Would you do your Papa the honor of marrying me?” Copia asked. His words, filled with conviction and desire. There were never two lovers that fit as soulmates as much as Copia and Saccharine.
“Yes! Papa—Copia!” she answered, Copia once more pulling her in to kiss him. The whole Abbey cheered and clapped around them as Copia slipped the ring onto her finger. Bringing her hand to his lips, kissing it. She would forever be his.
“You have made me the happiest man alive dolce.”
“And you have made me the happiest woman.” Saccharine smiled through her tears.
The rest of the night was a blur, nothing recalled but their love, the faint hum of celebration, and the lingering taste of champagne as Copia walked Saccharine back to the Papal suite. It was unspoken between them, but the desire had been building up and was on the precipice explosion, as the dewy-eyed lovers heading inside. Not moments in, Saccharine caught sight of the roses that trailed across the floor.
“Seems I’m not the only one who owes Primo some more roses.” Saccharine giggled marveling in the romantic gesture.
“Seems not.” he responded as he watched her light up, taking in the Papal suite for the first time.
“Oh Copia, it's beautiful here. So elegant and fancy…almost too fancy to touch.” she laughed, Copia taking her hands in his.
“Sweetheart these rooms are just as much yours now as they are mine. We are to be wed, partners in all things. There is nothing that I have that I don't wish to share with you.”
“My love.” the sister cried, the two of them gazing deeply into each other’s eyes. They had somehow made their way back to the bedroom. Saccharine could see the blanket of rose petals spread across Copia’s bed. Candles lit all around the room, setting a romantic atmosphere with an intent that was too obvious to deny. “Copia?” she asked him, waiting for him to tell her what he had planned.
“Sweetheart I was hoping, you know since it's Lupercalia…and well you are to be my wife…that..ah…we could…that we could worship in lust. Becoming one in his name. Do you…do you know what I’m asking you?” Copia stuttered, the light freckles on his face brought out more with his blushing. Saccharine’s breath hitched within her chest. Her eyes shimmering in the candlelight.
“I–I do Copia and I…I want it too.” she replied, blood swirling around in her veins and settling in her core. The heat between them, burning intensely as Copia’s eyes fell over her body. Without another word he lifted her up into his arms and carried her to the bed. Their eyes locked as the two of them carefully undressed before each other for the first time.
“Tu sei veramente la creazione più bella di questo mondo. Sono stregato dalla tua bellezza amore mio. I thank Lucifer every waking moment for bringing you into my life.” Copia vowed.
“As do I.” Saccharine cried, feeling her heart pounding away as Copia stripped himself of the last of his garments. Copia hovered over her in the bed, her breathing labored and skin ignited with a stroke of his fingers between her breasts. "Are you nervous?" Copia asked, noticing her trembling.
"A little." Saccharine admitted, biting her lower lip as he smiled down at her. She lay there, in their now shared bed, all the dreams and imaginings of what this moment between them would be like, flashing through her mind.
"I am too." Copia confessed, "but there is nothing I want more amore...nothing." The waves of desire overwhelmed them both as Copia brought his mouth down onto hers. His body, warm against hers, sending a quiver down her spine. Their bare flesh pressing into one another's for the first time.
She could feel his sex hard against her. His need for her, growing as she melted into his kiss. He gently caressed her breast, Saccharine letting out a moan against his lips. Copia, pulling back a moment, looking over Saccharine’s body. His gaze committing every curve, freckle, and mark to memory as he drank her in.
“Can I touch you?” he asked her, his eyes trailing to the space between her thighs. She nodded yes, wanting him to touch her just as much. Copia’s mouth returned to hers before his hand sank between them, running gently over her folds. The heat inside her radiating with his touch. Copia and Saccharine, both letting out a moan as his fingers slipped inside. She was already so wet for him, so ready as he gently glided through to her core and pressing up into the spot he knew would send her hips up from the bed and a moan from her lips. A delightful sinful feeling, washing over them as he continued his ministrations. Saccharine’s body, responding to his touch as if she were an instrument played by expert, yet delicate hands. Her hips, lifting to help guide him where she needed him to touch her. Craving more and more friction between them.
“Oh Copia…I need you.” she moaned, her fingers entangled in the sheets. Petals of roses, staining her skin as she pressed hard against the bed. Copia ceased all movements to listen to her. Hear her pleas before his animalistic need might cloud his judgment.
“Are you sure amore…sweetheart if you aren’t ready, we don't have to continue.” Copia assured her, but Saccharine pulled his lips back to hers. Kissing him hard and wrapping her legs around him to pull him down close to her.
“I am very sure.” she said with conviction. Copia didn’t need to be told twice, immediately pressing into her most intimate flesh with his own. Both of their mouths, falling open as they became one. His sex, pushing deep inside her as Saccharine held him close.
Copia's mouth was brought down to her breast–kissing and nipping as Saccharine gasped and mewled. His mouth, quickly returning to hers once more. The two of them, dancing together, bodies wrapped together in lust. Copia filled her out inside as Saccharine conformed around him.
Their bodies, fitting together perfectly as if they were made for one another. It wasn’t long before she felt the pleasure building up inside, her body shaking and trembling with him inside her. Feeling Copia this way was unlike anything her imagination could conjure. A thrilling sensation beyond anything she ever had known before, now promised to be hers forever.
“I love you.” Copia said as he got close. His movements, once soft and gentle, gained pace and depth. Worshiping her with every ounce of his being. Saccharine began writhing beneath him, crying out his name as she began to tumble down.
Before she knew it, Copia had flipped her over on top, both of them giggling as she slid back down onto his length. "Ah…" she sighed as her thighs held tight around him.
"I love you too...Oh Saccharine, you feel so good around me." Copia purred. Saccharine, herself was unable to control the moans that left her. She rolled her hips in time with his thrusts, Copia began panting and groaning. Her body pulsing and squeezing around him so deliciously. The two of them, reveling in the sensations made between them.
Copia brought his hands up to cup and knead Saccharine's breasts, her head falling back in pleasure. There was an intense surge, a crash of lust and desire hitting them both hard until they could no longer contain it. Loving making together, wrapped up in each other's arms, two becoming one in the name of Lucifer. Copia's rhythm began to falter as he got close, grabbing tight to Saccharine's hips
She moved up and down on him, with her hands on his chest. Fingers buried deep in his nest of hair. Her body unable to hold back from her orgasm any longer, she came hard around him, crying out his name into the night.
“Sì, sto venendo per te…ah!” Copia whined as he released deep inside her. They continued to move, slowly returning from the heights of passion climbed. A consummation of their feelings for one another made complete. As the wave of their efforts dissipated and they held each other close, Copia ran his fingers through Saccharine’s long hair. Picking rose petals from it as she nuzzled her against his chest.
“You know I have been waiting to do that with you for so long…but I am kind of glad we waited until tonight though because it was more perfect than I ever thought it could be…” Copia began.
“Me too.” Saccharine smiled up at him. Her beautiful face, glowing in the candlelight.
“Really?” he said, a tone of disbelief in his voice. Copia, still amazed that anyone could truly love him, but more so that this gorgeous creature somehow could.
“Oh Copia I have wanted to be yours for so long too. What took you so long to ask me that?”
“I didn’t want you to think this was a passing thing. That I only wanted you for carnal conquests. I am not my fratelli. I have never wanted something that was meaningless. And while they both have that now, this has always been what this has meant to me and I wanted it to be special. For you to know, as I took you, that you were truly mine and I, yours.”
“Tonight…my love, everything was perfect. Best Lupercalia ever.” Saccharine assured him, giving out a lightheaded laugh as Copia went to kiss her forehead. His eyes filled with love and adoration as he gazed upon her in their shared post climatic bliss.
“You know sweetheart, Lupercalia, Valentine’s Day… no matter what anyone chooses to call it…this night—-this night was made for you and I.”

Copia and the Ghouls Headcannon
🌟 main char: Copia, fire ghoul/sodo
🌟 cameo: swiss, rain
・┆✦ʚ♡ɞ✦ ┆・┆✦ʚ♡ɞ✦ ┆・┆✦ʚ♡ɞ✦ ┆・
Copia keeps finding Sodo in his bed everynight, under the cover, right before he sleeps. He does nothing, just lie down stiffly until Copia enters the room. After he sees Copia, he would just get up and leave. Things went on for a few nights.
Such behaviour did not go unnoticed and had Copia puzzled.
Why is the fire ghoul behaving such way?
It got to the point where Copia himself had gone over to the ghoul's den to find the answer.
Luckily, there is only one ghoul that can answer him and the ghoul is right there on the couch, resting.
- "Swiss"
Copia's voice broke the quite silence enjoyed by the said ghoul.
- "I, Papa"
He shot up to his feet, standing in front of Copia.
What brought Papa Emeritus IV here?
he wonders.
- "Sit down, I have something to ask about"
- "Is there anything odd been going on with Sodo lately?"
The question did not come as a shocker to the ghoul.
- "Other than him being usually the quiet menace, nothing really"
Swiss answered while fiddling with his Elfbar vape.
- "Are you sure?"
The satanic pope enquired.
- "Yes"
- "Ok- "
- "But"
Copia was about to walk away when Swiss broke the silence again.
- "well he did something. but I don't want to be responsible for outing him. do ask Rain."
the ghoul explained.
- "why Rain the water ghoul?"
- "because Sodo would never harm Rain"
It's true.
One a fire ghoul, hot magma flowing in his veins, mostly misunderstood by outsiders due to his hot nature. He can go from radiating warmth to causing a scene of outrageous flames.
One is a water ghoul, crystal blue water flowing in his veins, much like the fire ghoul. Calm and composed, that little one. But surely one must not test his limits, as water can be a calm pond and a raging sea at the same time.
Yet,
Sodo finds comfort in Rain's cool nature, while Rain finds warmth in Sodo's quiteness.
- "if so then, I shall be on my way looking for the water ghoul"
- "yes, Papa"
Copia left the ghoul's den and began walking around the monastery. After quite some time, he finally saw the silhouette of that one particular ghoul.
- "Water ghoul!"
Copia called out for Rain, who was happily tending the gardens.
The ghoul said his goodbyes to the plants and flowers and made his way to the Papa Emeritus IV.
- "Yes, Papa"
- "Have you seen Fire ghoul anywhere today?"
Rain shooked his head.
- "Have you noticed any changes in his behavior lately?"
Again, the water ghoul shooked his head.
Copia getting more impatient decided to rephrase the question.
- "Water ghoul, you see, for the past few nights, I kept seeing fire ghoul in my bed, right before my bed time. Once I enter the room, he will just get up and leave. Do you have any idea what the fire ghoul is doing?"
Rain mouthed an "O". From the reaction alone, Copia was certain he finally got the answer.
- "Papa, do you recall how many rainy nights we've had for the past one week?"
Copia was silenced for a few seconds before giving the water ghoul a soft smile.
- "Forgive me, water ghoul. I do not remember"
- "That's alright. Sodo has been going to your room right before bed time because he heard you cursing in Sister Imperator's office about how chilly these several nights have been due to the rain"
The water ghoul paused, looking around as if making sure nobody or no Sodo is looking at him right now.
- "Papa, come closer. After he heard your complaints, he decided to warm the bed and blanket for you, right before you sleep. So that you have better comfort."
Rain explained in a whisper mode. Copia, knowing full well how the fire ghoul would react had he knows his secret is out, smiled and patted Rain's shoulder.
- "Thank you, water ghoul. It gives me happiness to know that you ghouls are very thoughtful. Don't worry, your secret is safe with me and I won't say a word to the fire ghoul too."
Hearing the assurance, Rain's shoulder relaxed a bit.
Yes, the fire ghoul won't hurt him, but that doesn't mean Sodo won't throw a massive tantrum. Rain wouldn't want other people to be affected by it.
That night, as per usual, Sodo shows up in Copia's room at his normal time. He knew Copia wouldn't be there yet as normally, Copia would still be in his office trying to finish his work before the next day.
But, oh my Lucifer, is he wrong.
As soon as the door opened, he saw Copia standing inside the room.
Copia, who was already expecting the fire ghoul, chuckled as he saw him flustered by the door.
- "Come in, fire ghoul. You're 2 minutes late"
Sodo tilted his head.
What's going on, why is Papa here, shouldn't he be working?
As the fire ghoul approached Copia, he saw a tray of snacks. Unusual snacks for a man like Copia.
Some Carolina reapers, a bowl of Samyang Double Spicy Ramen and and a glass of hot chocolate.
- "I'm sorry to disturb you, Papa. I will take my lea- "
- "Hush, fire ghoul. Don't leave yet. Come, sit by me"
Copia patted the space next to him, on the bed.
Slowly, the fire ghoul went and say by Copia.
- "I do have work, but I came by for a short time"
There was silence from Sodo. He was puzzled.
- "Now, fire ghoul, I do not know why you're coming into my room these days, what antics have you planned with the ghouls for me, but, I figured that once in a while, you deserve a comfort night too"
The fire ghoul's eyes glistened. He was puzzled but the last sentence has awakened something in him.
- "So, while I resume my work in the later, you can have this bed to yourself, continuing your normal antics, and enjoy the snacks I prepared for you. You like spicy food, right?"
A very rare sight happened in front of Copia.
The stoic fire ghoul was smiling.
- "Thank you so much, Papa"
It was almost inaudible but Copia managed to catch what was uttered by the fire ghoul.
- "you're welcome, fire ghoul."
