The amount of research I've been doing for my COTL fic/Trod AU just has me going down rabbitholes of random things, such as:

The first kinds of plumbing systems with running and heated water and it's history and how it functions

With above, bathhouses and personal bathrooms through history and different cultures

Plants that are toxic to sheep

The effects of ingesting Mushrooms that's close enough to in-game menticide mushrooms (And what can be done or given to help alliviate symptoms until it passes in the case of accidental doses and attempted poisonings)

Mobility aids throughout history and the details of their designs, functions, and aesthetics when crafting them

Plants that are toxic to cats (I kinda already knew plenty, but you know)

Where exactly can legs be broken and how badly for someone to continue trying to walk on them effectivly while also hiding that they're in a lot of pain before it starts to swell

A quick review of different edible crops and when their planting and harvesting seasons are

Different intepretations on the Hades and Persophone myth, particularly with the consuming of the Pomegrante

How trading systems would function, and how Smuggler's Sanctuary would become a reknown trading hub with Plimbo at the helm of it all

A bunch of other stuff

And then I remember that this is a fanfiction and that I can have fun with it and not have to be uber realistic. If the power of love gives someone the power to go absoutly ballistic when his ribcage is practically evicierated then so be it

So, this was inspired by this post, which was super wholesome and sweet, but I couldn't write this without infusing it with the urgency and anxiety and sense of danger that looms over The Rehabilitation of Death. Bits and pieces of references to your AU are sprinkled in throughout. I hope you (and my readers and your readers as well) enjoy picking apart the themes here!

I actually wrote this live on stream last night! I made sure none of my friends were streaming before I started because I didn't want to miss anyone if someone was already live, but then you started streaming like 10 minutes later and I was like FUCK now I wanna watch you. But after a couple of hours on my new extra-hard CotL save (OUCH), I switched to writing and just... hoped you wouldn't pop in because I wanted this to be a surprise. For most of the writing part of the stream this poem was titled "IF SARA STOPS STREAMING SEND ME A WARNING."

Anyway, we don't usually get to talk more than a couple times per week because we both have Shit To Do, but you are SO FUN to be around and I am so so glad I met you!! Your friendship is a blessing and your creativity is a gift.

GOAT AND LAMB!?

Okay, so who else is immediately making lore for the Goat in there own little COTL AUs?

On my end, it really can't be more appropriate to have him as a flip side of the coin opposite to my Lamb. Lamb has the Cult of Bahamut, Goat has Cult of Tiamat.

Lamb is reserved, calm and tends to lean towards the more spiritual side of their new calling as God of Death, communing with the spirits to help the living. He prefers the ghost and cold based curses and upgrades as well and is an avid blunderbuss user.

The Goat on the other hand is chaotic, a bit unhinged and focused more on the reaping aspect of his calling. As a result, he's a very physical fighter, up close and personal with poison and godslayer weapons. He LOVES his hammer and axe dearly.

But for all that they are different, they're also very similar. They work towards the same goals, they hold similar ideals at the end of the day. While Lamb spared Nari, Goat didn't. Because they both thought that it was necessary in their views of justice and redemption.

While it can only be speculated what the actual reasoning behind the goat is in game, in Maya you, I'm going to have it be dimensional crossover that happened because of slaying the bishops and making everything a bit unstable. This resulted in their world's crossing every once in awhile during their crusades. And due to crown shenanigans, they can "call out" to other if they need a hand or want to talk etc etc. Admittedly Goat does this more than Lamb

Anyway yeah, that's my take on the Goat for my COTL AU, feel free to share yours!

COTL AU 3

Trivia:

After Narinder is made a follower, he finds Forneus, Aym, and Baal and tries his best to have a relationship with them again, more so his kits. Aym and Baal are fine with still calling him “dad” and such but Forneus has seen too much to trust him again.

Forneus moves to Anura with Aym and Baal after Heket is defeated. Her kits found her after the defeat of Narinder.

After Heket is made a follower, she also finds Forneus and tries to have a relationship with her. They were dating, once, before Heket was a bishop. Heket hasn’t gotten over her.

After Kallamar is made a follower, he will try his best to poison Joon, then calms down when he discovers Saleos is in the cult. (After being pissed at Saleos for joining the cats cult)

After Shamura is made a follower they do nothing. They chill af, Joon thought they were plotting to kill him for a long time. They make balls of spider silk with the help of Narinder or another one of the followers or their siblings sometimes. And then helps Joon knit it.

After Leshy is made a follower, he will do everything he can to kill Joon. Everything you can think of. He spends most his time in the fields, burrowed, to terrorize followers. Getting him out never works, he just curses at whoever tries while he burrows deeper into the soil. Eventually, he calms down, and Joon tries his best at befriending the odd and clearly agitated ex-bishop.

None of the bishops lost their abilities, they simply dulled. Godhood runs deep, even without a crown to help.

I tried to add in the bishops injuries from the game, like Leshy’s missing eyes. I made it so Joon gave them the injuries instead. Narinder had his wrists slit since the chains were his injury.

The crowns, save for the green crown, were abandoned after the bishops defeat. They were hidden with magic, so no heretic could find them. Whoever collects whichever crown is thereby a bishop.

Kaani(OC), the death bishop after Narinder, found the crown on accident. They knew what it was, picked it up out of curiosity, and was then bound to it, much to their dismay. They resided nowhere before it, they were a traveler. The scythe they hold was mainly for display and they liked how it looked, it would shatter if they ever tried using it. They visit the cult often. Narinder does not like them.

The rest of the crowns remain unfound. However, the purple crown is close to having a predecessor.

Indefinite Hiatus from the Tumblr side of the fandom + Where my CotL art will be

My BPD has spiraled out of control, to the point of poisoning people around me and hurting myself. People hurt me, and I hurt people. Badly. I have done research online enough to self diagnose- because I am self aware of my behavior, even more so now to the point of lifelong patterns of this,

but these tweets explain my behavior in an easier way.

So I apologize for my obsessive venting, assuming, states of being triggered. If I could help it I would- (I am actually! I am going to get DBT therapy as soon as possible. This will help me regulate my emotions.) People with BPD suffer from suicidal ideation, and I apologize for the ammount of S/H and sui venting I had done to push away people I held so fucking dearly, especially my favorite person.

After what happened, my sense of trust, love, and friendship has become very warped. It was already warped. It will take me a while to recover from both guilt and greif. Grieving the living. CotL fan art has helped me stay alive in the past and if it helps me now I will continue to do it.

Anyways- Lore dump of how this Lamb went out and her thoughts/behavior during the decapitation. Decided to make her angry and fight back against the bishops even to her slaughter

I have been thinking a lot about the lore for the void AU and I need to say that I love the color choice for each character! Especially how Narinder's favorites are the ones that are poisonous to Kallamar, it really fits with how Kallamar seems to fear Narinder in CotL.

Also, gold being one of Narinder's favorite colors is so interesting, considering the same drawing of the Lamb showing him affection through that color and Narinder saying that he didn't ask for it...

Interesting fact: Bishops as the Keepers doesn't pray for Gold (also Gold is poison for all of them). And i should to tell you that Gold is very rare in the Void... Where did Lamb get all this Gold for Narinder? ;)

TIME FOR ME TO START MAKING A AU!!!

I’m pretty bored, like, seriously, I’m just looking at other’s AUs, like @cotl-flower-crown ‘s Next Generation AU, @lammydraws Bishop AU, and @thenovaartz Resurrected Baby Bishops AU.

My AU will let me shove in a OC, (I’m making her!) and she’s the twins youngest sister who loves them and Narinder dearly!

This AU takes place, before, during and after the game events.

Here’s what I got so far…

Lira is a disciple, like Baal and Aym, her brothers. Baal, who’s the first son to be sent to Narinder, is representing Sun, while Aym, is representing Moon. Lira, on the other hand, represents Celestial. In age order, it’s Aym, Baal, and Lira. Narinder took care of the kits as much as he can. Entertaining them and himself, it always lightens his unbeating heart, all his emotional burdens leaving him as he smiled and laughed with the children. When they got older, they were soon seeing the vessels’ attempts to kill the damned Bishops. They watched the crusades with intent, they smiled broadly when a Bishop was killed. One time Lira whooped and she fell to the soft floor underneath them, her father and brothers laughing. They moaned and facepalmed when they screwed. They were asking to experience a crusade themselves. Narinder chose Aym, as he was the oldest. Aym was sent on practice crusade to see if he can make it alive, he did, with a blind eye that made other’s hearts sink horribly and grieve for him, as the cut was infected. Aym was poisoned, paralysed, just for 2 mortal days. Which was 2 afterlife hours.

1000 years later, Narinder realises that the name ‘Lira’ is a agony to the Sheep Clan’s sight and hearing, as her name means ‘death’ in their ritual, ‘Lira’s Punishment.’ He had to hide away Lira, looking merciless and cold, as Lira cried, ‘Father what!? What’s going on?!’ but he was holding back tears and the moment she was sealed away, the chained god sank to his knees and tears started to silently splash his front. Baal and Aym were affected the most. They couldn’t speak. They couldn’t do anything for their beloved sister and they hid their emotions. Aym hid them completely but Baal was incapable of it. Narinder heard his ragged breath and sobbing. They talked it through. And before they knew it. She was forgotten.

When Lambert arrived in the afterlife, Narinder was immediately reminded of Lira. His small stature and ragged clothing and chained arms behind him reminded Narinder of Lira, but much smaller.

Lambert was soon noticing the twins lowered heads, clenched hands, and ragged breath. He wanted to talk to Baal and Aym, but, they were deaf to him.

He was soon to know Lira, the forgotten disciple.

Btw, Lira does not really mean death, it’s just a sillies I did
