last night i went to bed thinking of my husband, i ended up dreaming about my husband as well. today, i woke up thinking about my husband and throughout the day i kept boasting about how wonderful my husband is to my friends. when i got home, i immediately went to greet my husband after being apart from him for so long and right now, im cuddling with my husband as i type this.

And my longest hiatus was 6 days?#Did you know I missed posting on 92 days of those 500 days - meaning I posted 82% of the time on a daily basis?#I'm normal about collecting data. I have so much data on this blog for normal reasons. I'm also so normal about art. The normalest.#Honorable mention for the character rankings: Lan Wangji! for “Most improved in rank”.#Sorry Lan Wangji fans but until the audio drama I honestly was...pretty indifferent towards him.#I think a huge part of that was due to the fact he's constantly paired up with WWX; who has *so* much charisma and steals the scene #But I've really come to like him a lot more since starting this project. He rose from mid-tier to being in the top ten!#Dishonorable mention: Nie Huaisang. Who fell out of number 1 spot and out of the top 5.#He just hasn't shown up a lot! And my rankings are fickle! They will probably change once I finish the third season!#My favourite comics are: A lot of them! I keep thinking about Merlin’s love for Arthur and how it’s so clearly portrayed in the show to the point that it practically drives the plot of the show. However when it comes to Arthur’s love for Merlin it’s more subtle and sometimes difficult to even grasp, and I started thinking why that was, aside from the obvious fact that Arthur has a lot of trouble expressing his emotions affection or otherwise. I think it also lies in the fact that Merlin knows Arthur intrinsically throughout the show; he is one of the closest people to Arthur, and sees him for who he really is. Arthur admits as much.

Sure, Arthur knows Merlin but the main part of the plot is that he really doesn't know Merlin. Merlin wants him to desperately understand him and “see me for who I am” but he can't yet. And I think this subconsciously creates a barrier in the way in which Arthur can care for Merlin, and how Merlin can let himself be seen by Arthur.

Which is why I think he was also so hurt when the magic reveal happens because more than the betrayal of Merlin having magic, it was the betrayal of Merlin not letting Arthur see him for who he really is and for hiding a main part of himself. Arthur says it himself “why did you never tell me” that’s what hurt him the most.

I think the most damning piece of evidence for this is the fact that while we see snippets of Arthur’s feelings for Merlin thought the show, the biggest signs are in the last episode after the magic reveal; in which he finally gets to understand Merlin, and this time REALLY know Merlin, and as the barriers of what held them back from understanding each other truly fall away, Arthur evidently “falls in love with Merlin all over again”. We see him actually express himself to Merlin.

This is another reason why I think if anyone was ever to create another season of Merlin after Arthur’s return, it’s physically impossible not to make it about Merlin and Arthur acknowledging their feelings for each other. Because there is no way forward without them acknowledging how deeply they care for each other, obviously anyone is free to argue what kind of love that is, but its impossible not to see the deep love there either way.

They always knew they loved each other, just maybe never realising how much and what that means, because its almost second nature to everything that they do.

#merlin meta #bbc merlin #merthur #ignore me im literally just rambling #im not sure this even makes sense but i had to yap it out anyway!!#i think merlins love for Arthur surpasses his destiny in a way #He foresakes himself and his people just to ensure Arthur lives #but that turned out to be the undoing of them all #I cannot stress enough how insane this makes me #its sometimes harder to look at Arthur and understand how his love for merlin takes form #but the way he starts taking small steps to check in on merlin when he's being particularly quiet #or noticing the changes in merlin is a good indicator because it is so completely opposite his nature #and ofc the way in which he trusts merlin so completely #remember this is a man who has constant problems with people he chooses to trust #and he also shows time and time again how far he's willing to go beyond the accepted norms to also protect merlin #I think it was always harder for him to allow himself to open about his emotions #and it was much easier to keep it under lock and key to avoid it being seen as a weakness #Obviously thanks to Uthers A+ parenting which could not have helped #but as the seasons go on he begins to open up and thats no small part in thanks to merlins influence in his life #and when it comes to the finale they are both boiled down to raw emotion having to face each other #merlin emrys #arthur pendragon

LOST: Season One

#lost #abc lost #lost one cap per ep #this was a project i was gonna do anyways but the timing worked out that i could post the first one on the 20th anniversary!#this is one cap per ep every season. from left to right. and this is important: its not a cap that sums up each ep #its a cap that REPRESENTS each ep. the way i choose them varies every episode #sometimes its an utterly iconic moment. sometimes it reps the theme of the ep. or it hits with a theme of the character themselves #sometimes the cap i use won't even involve the character whose centric episode it is. trust me. this makes sense #anyways i'll give a good example: for outlaws i was so tempted to use a shot of the judgemental soulful gaze of the boar #or perhaps sawyer in the rain after he shot that man #but! i used that shot of sawyer's dads legs as sawyer is hiding under the bed. i feel it worthy because this moment. this scene #is literally a core part of sawyer. it's a defining moment of his backstory. of his character. so yeah. makes sense yeah?#anyways some eps had Too Much going on (lord i could make one of these for exodus part 1 alone) and some not enough #or well they DID but like lacked in caps that Hit in the way im thinking. thank heavens charlie shot ethan cuz i was worried about that ep #i was like ''aw shit what am i gonna use'' and then an iconic lost moment happened kjhfdsjkhfd #anyways. there are 25 eps in season one. so im really glad that the last ep contains one of the moment iconic visuals/moments in all of los #oh i should add that these caps are unedited. i did not fuck with the colours or saturation in any way #i found 'em and i pieced them together. this is harder than it sounds. i browsed through all the screencaps of every ep of season one #and i will do so the remaining five seasons #some of these were super easy like i knew what cap i'd be using before i even started (eg. do no harm. the moth. in translation)#but some took some real Thinking. and some eps even had several caps that would have worked. this has all been quite interesting #also yeah. y'all already know damn well what cap i'm using for the very last episode
