Next week is gonna kick my ass. But at least I'll get the chance to do new things.

An embroidery piece of the luggage from the Discworld series, ivory teeth, lolling red tongue and almost two dozen legs included. I somehow also managed to make it seem like it's grinning. Took me two months with two-thread embroidery. 😂

i’m going to a “bring your own craft” day and i just realized i’m not hyper focused on any craft or idea right now...
scrolling through Pinterest trying to find something that looks good to work on for a few hours... i’ve got nothing.
i literally have a board called “crafts/ DIY” and i don’t want to do any of them
scrubbing through my board that is just ideas for crochet projects and i’ll look at one and go hmmm but then i look a little closer and decide i don’t want to deal with that....
i have like 4 projects that i started and stopped for different reasons and none of them am i excited to bring!!!!
ahhhh i have like 30 minutes to find, gather, and pack something

We all know existential dread, but I propose (and please tell be if this is already a thing) existential awe.
Sometimes when I handsew or weave or something I get this immense feeling of connection to humanity. People for thousands of years all over the world have sat down and sewn a garment. Archeologists find needles and awls all the time. When I'm tablet weaving I have the same frustration at the arduous process of threading the tablets as the person 2600 years ago must have felt when they made the bands that were found in a celtic man's burial mount not far from my home. They probably also felt their back after a few hours of this.

I made a pillow!
It took four months of non-stop cross-stitching, but I finally finished a pattern I bought from @8pxl a little bit ago, and tonight in a bizarre burst of productivity I finally sewed a back to it and stuffed it into a cute little pillow! It ended up being pretty much perfectly sized for a neck pillow, but I'm a bit worried about it getting dirty that way.
I highly recommend the patterns from 8xpl's shop, there are SO many gorgeous ones to choose from. I might end up getting another one soon o3o
