With such a God-focused season, one day, once Junior Year is finished and I have both the time and energy to do it, I want to make a Fantasy High God AU zine. It'd be from the pov of a mythologist/theologian in Spyre who's found strange links between minor deities throughout different regions' pantheons.
Half-Elves have a God of Dance and Flames who has been said to have defeated a Tiefling vagabond (and tamed his Hellhound mount) and charmed Fire itself with only a dance and his silk battle sheet. And if you look deep enough into his history there are rare depictions of him wearing an oddly shaped pendant and riding into battle with a sling-wielding Goblin peeking out of his rucksack. Interestingly enough, there's a minor Goblin God of Justice and Mysteries, the son of a Goblin Folk Hero and the Goblin Goddess of Knowledge, Laws, and Justice, who famously wields his father's enchanted sling. Though he and his father are often shown with angelic wings. So, why would he dally with a God so closely associated with Fiends?
Tieflings have a trickster Goddess of Music, Rebellion, and Devotion. The daughter of an Archdevil and a Wood Elven Goddess of Archery & the Wilderness. She's said to be a paramour of a Half-Phoenix Pirate Goddess of Wizardry and Knowledge and once toured the lands, performing with a Half-Orc companion. A lot of artistic recreations of that tour depict the Half-Orc companion with flower motifs that correspond with a Gnomish/Half-Orcish God of Tinkering and Rage. One that once outwitted a Sphynx and regained his spurned Saytr paramour's love by speaking to/reaching the stars with the help of a band of Tinkerer Gnomes.
There are tales of a Twice Risen Goddess who was once the chosen one of the Demigod Helio, but took one look at him and thought she could do better. With the wisdom to raise Gods from the dead and remove unholy rites without any divine power other than her own, this God-Saint of Doubt travels across Spyre not to spread her own religion but to inquire about others. This deep curiosity is probably how she ended up in some Fallinel depictions of the First Elven Oracle, who upon death ascended to becoming the Goddess of Sight, Intelligence and Righteous Fury. There are even short hymns written about the Oracle foreseeing the God-Saint's rise (against the Elven Moon Goddess' wishes) and of the God-Saint banishing some dark entity from possessing the Oracle with only a profane curse of its name.
And even more stuff connecting them all. Like the fact that all of them have tales of them defeating an Ancient Red Dragon. Or the tales of The Festival of the Crab King: a strange, delirious story of mortals witnessing a euphoric revelry of the deific kind that involved all these Gods from different pantheons.

Abyss of Hallucinations (2021) is, like most of Max Moon’s work, a fusion of occult themes and solid RPG design. In this case, a heremetic setting for MÖRK BORG that draws heavily on the work of Aleister Crowley, particularly The Book of Lies (which Max reprinted as a zine in the same trade dress, as an accompaniment).
The mixture is a little less than 50/50 here, I think, with RPG elements (60ish percent?) necessarily overwhelming the magickal elements (while Max does get it to more of a 50/50 mix in other projects, this volume at least perhaps illustrates how the precision of RPG writing is at odds with the obscurity of the occult).
There is a sort of phantasmagorical wilderness, populated by features derived from The Book of Lies, but only tersely described. This gives way to three character classes that each reflect some core aspect of Crowley’s personality (Seeker of the Left Hand Path, Offspring of Pan and, humorously, Mountaineer). Following that are several entities one might encounter, including Baphomet, Babalon and mystical Dinosaurs.
The centerpiece is a dungeon called the Unicursal Heptagram that functions as a sort of cursed puzzle as well as an initiation into the greater mysteries of the Abyss. It adheres to the difficult Thelemic logic of The Book of Lies (which, mapped to a dungeon, reminds me a little of the tortured thinking behind many point-and-click adventure games of the ’90s). The effect is disorienting and serves to erode a lot of player assumptions about just what everyone is doing here. Playing MÖRK BORG? Or something more?

THE HIGH PRIESTESS-
One of two Tarot themed illustrations I did for a Fire Emblem horror zine. I picked The High Priestess for Azura to represent her role as the liaison between the seen and the unseen, darkness and light, and the hidden knowledge she's cursed to bear alone. I chose to represent the moon above her in a reflection of the water, but made the ghostly Vallite hands clinging to her shaped roughly like a crescent. I wanted to show the burden of her responsibility, which I feel is one of the most interesting concepts she plays into. :)

I write things. Here are a few of them:
To-cat-ta and Fugue
Pairing: Blackbonnet
Rating: T
Summary: My piece for the A to Z of Ed Teach Zine, featuring the letter N for Ned, in which I predict Ed's catboy era before season two gifted us with the bell collar and onesie. Canon-divergent post season one, in a universe where Ed and Stede make it back to the Revenge and resume pirating.
***
Works for Spiders
Pairing: Blackbonnet
Rating: M
Summary: Innkeepers-era horror-comedy told from the POV of the house spider who lives in the inn. Think Charlotte's Web meets Home Alone.
***
Wave Hello to the Void
Pairing: Blackbonnet
Rating: E
Summary: Stede Bonnet is a former professor of folklore and aspiring YouTube personality trying to find the Mothman.
Edward Teach is an ex-astronomer just trying to find a way out of small-town West Virginia.
Little do they know that what they actually find will change them both forever.
Written in collaboration with @zacharybosch and @eefaevie!
***
The Scientific Findings of E. Teach, Stedeologist series:
An Arm and a Leg
The Sticking Place
Pairing: Blackbonnet
Rating: E
Summary: Stede is cursed to grow tentacles whenever he gets wet, and Ed is a huge, horny nerd about it. The story answers the question: "What if a body that changes is fine, actually?"
***
The Starry Eyes and Counting Down to Zero series:
In Favor With Their Stars
The Ship of Theseus
Pairing: Blackbonnet
Rating: M
Summary: Ed is an engineer aboard the Revenge, an interplanetary research vessel on a multi-year mission to study Jupiter's moon Europa. An accident requires that Ed awaken from cryostasis over six months early, and finds his only companion to be Stede, the ship's onboard AI. They develop an unconventional friendship, but is it possible to have more?
This is classic mutual pining with a sci-fi twist, inspired by all of my favorite stories about the nature of personhood.
Audio drama excerpts from In Favor with Their Stars, performed by @nordarknessdimsthesky
***
There's a Monster at the End of This Book
Pairing: Vianton
Rating: M
Summary: Musings on humanity, monstrosity, and buttons, or:
Anton self-actualizes, with a little help from a friend.
***
Choose Your Own Adventure: Reunion!
Pairing: Blackbonnet
Rating: E
Summary: A collaborative Choose Your Own Adventure story full of feelings, smut, a sprinkling of angst, a generous helping of nonsense, and a whole lot of amazing writing and art by 16 different writers and artists!

psst - i also made a bunch of customised character sheets for the @ocsoftherealm zine!! all the vanilla classes, plus bloodhunter and artificer
i took a lot of care to make sure all the sheets are special for the class, not just in the aesthetics but the resources!! like, warlock has special boxes just for its mystic arcana where spell slots would normally go, or fighter has boxes for its maneuvers
they come with the digital bundle for the zine!! so that's the full zine, plus the sketchbook, plus 14 character sheets, andi t's $5!! grab it here: Character Study Digital Bundle by Character Study (itch.io)
[Image ID: Two character sheets for D&D 5e. One is the second page for a bloodhunter, and it shows spaces for cantrips, fighting style, hemocraft dice, unlevelled spell slots, crimson rites, and blood curses. It features swords and moons most heavily. The second is a standard character sheet for ranger, which replaces the typical squares with plant material and bows and arrows. End ID.]

Meet the Creators - Moon-Daisuki
What username(s) and platform(s) can folx find you on? (Please include links!)
Hi I am @moon-daisuki. You can find me fanfiction.com since 2004 and on on AO3 since 2019
(Fun Fact) What is your favorite kind of potato?
That's complicated, both mashed and baked.
How long have you been creating works in fandom spaces? How long have you been active in the SM fandom?
Since Dec. 2004, I left for a bit around 2009. And finished a story in 2014. And then I've been back since 2018.
What type(s) of creative works do you usually make? (fanfics, digital art, cosplay)
Fanfics - I have no art skills per se.
What do you enjoy about creating for the SM fandom?
I just hope to touch at least one other person. Once in a review, a reader said I made them cry. That's why I write.
Also in 2005 I won 2nd place for Wishing You Were Mine in the annual Sailor Moon Readers Choice Fanfiction Awards.
Are you strictly UsaMamo or do you create for other pairings as well?
I create mostly UsaMamo, but I did kill off Mamo as a hero so Usa could have Seiya. Makenai is one of my favorite stories, close to my heart, because Seiya loved her too.
What inspires you to create works for Usagi and Mamoru?
Sailor Moon changed my whole life in all the best ways. I didn't meet anime until 2001. I saw Sailor Moon on Cartoon Network first. Then on 12.8k dialup = Low speed. It took three days for the first 350 megabyte fansub episode to roll in in one and two kilobytes at a time. It was instalove! Sailor Moon is my comfort go to. I love both the old and the new. Chef's Kiss. I love many anime thanks to Sailor Moon, my GOAT!
Usa & Mamo just have such a complicated vibe. It's a real joy to sink into and see how they come together.
Do you tend to work on multiple projects (WIPs) simultaneously or try to finish one at a time?
I only write one at a time. My focus is there 100%.
Do you prefer large projects (chaptered fics, webtoons/zines, highly detailed art) or small projects (one-shots or simple art)?
All of it! I love the art, the zines and all the fics.
Are there any common themes, situations, tropes, or mediums in your work?
Yes...I try for a mix of like romcom Motoki's Grand Adventure. But if you look back, I've stretched into other genres, like paranormal with Grave Danger. I wrote a fairy tale, Curse Of The Frog. I wrote the hardest story Holding Out For A Hero. It deals with Child Abuse. It's also close to my heart. I wrote a kind of Phantom Of The Opera inspired Story - Fantastic Journey. Mind Games covers domestic violence. I just go where my muse leads.
Is there anything you haven’t explored artistically and would like to try?
Not yet, but Goddess only knows where my muse will drag me next. I've got a lemony Haruka/Usagi project I'm tinkering with.... 😍🥰😘

My art submission for the First edition of Pakige. (The Zine is in black and white so there was never a color version of this.) I wanted to draw mid-curse-transformation.
AU where Rintarou is cursed to turn into a Swan on the full moon but he does his best to uphold his duties as a swordsman anyway.
