Hiiiii, I’m curious about your Ultraman collection. Care to give me an info dump about all your cool stuff?

I'd love to! Here's a very brief overview of the collection thus far.

This is the henshin/transformation device shelf. Starting from the top left and working across, there's the Dark Z Riser (from Ultraman Z), Saki's Gyro (Ultraman R/B), D-Flasher (Ultraman Decker), the Sparklence (Ultraman Tiga), and the Reiflasher (Ultraman Dyna). Those last two are tv-prop quality.

The next shelf down is entirely Ultraman Trigger stuff, including the Ancient, Dark, and GUTS Spark Lenses, and a bunch of Hyper Keys.

Below that is the Orb Ring and the Orb Calibur (From Ultraman Orb), and then the Geed Rizer, Ultra Capsules, King Sword, and the Neo Zero Eye (from Ultraman Geed).

This is the old Ultra Monster Series shelf for figures 2012 and back. I have some vintage figures from the 70s mixed in there, all with the tags.

This is the new Ultra Monster Series shelf, holding all of the smaller, less detailed figures from the new UMS line starting in 2013.

Here is a big shot of the SH Figuarts shelves + the new and old Ultra Hero Series lines. The very top has New Gen DX-scale figures. The lower shelves have all the new Blazar stuff as well as some rarer boxed UHS figures.

This one is kinda messy, I have to work on reorganizing them soon!

I’m curious, cause I saw action figure customizing on your Buy me a Coffee and want to know more about what it is?

Sure! So I collect action figures, mostly marvel ones and mostly ones made by the Marvel Legends brand but I do have a few SH Figuarts and Marvel Selects.

Anyway, sometimes I put my own together for a character or a certain look for a character that hasn't been made yet. Or has been made but is outdated or rare.

This can be done in different ways. Like putting a bunch of different parts from different figures together to create something, or using most of a figure and adding certain details either from other figures or by using 3d prints I find online.

Like I made Coulson using a Black Panther Everett Ross figure and bought a pre painted 3d head to finish it off. But I've also made a Symbiote suit Nat from the newer comics by using a Nat figure as a base, a 3d printed Spiderman head and a Jean Grey ponytail. I'm also making a custom modern comics Hawkeye by splicing together like 3 figures and using a 3d head I've painted myself

And sometimes I just update the look for a figure cuz they sometimes come out before the movies based on concept art so they don't look accurate. I did that with my Black Widow Yelena by adding her ponytail and updating her vest to the Infinity War Nat vest so they look more uniform

Or like how I updated the paint jobs on the What If Zombies because I wanted something more gory and befitting of undead flesh eaters lol

Hey Cina, question for you~ Is it weird that Bandai didn’t either re-release or produced new PreCure figuarts for the 20th anniversary while Sailor Moon got some for their 20th or was that more because it was the first time to produce highly articulated figures of the Senshi? Considering it’s Bandai, you could expect them to either milk customers by releasing Cure Black & White again at bare minimum or maybe make a candy figure line for the series and yet, they didn’t. Odd, huh?

my assumption is that it's very different markets; from what I've seen magical girl fans tend to be more into smaller statues or cute versions like nendoroids if anything (... and frankly a lot less susceptible to capitalism than toku fans). Obviously Sailor Moon is the exception here but, like, it's Sailor Moon; you can rely on a figuarts line for a juggernaut like that to do well

Figuarts Mini feels like it would be a good bet, though... cures in this style would be good

S.H. Figuarts Terraphaser from Ultraman Decker announced

With only one episode of Ultraman Decker left to broadcast, Bandai have revealed an entirely new figure to join the S.H. Figuarts Ultraman range -- the Terraphaser; the mecha utilised as Decker's main rival in the series and based on the Death Facer from the Tiga & Dyna movie.

Similarly to the previously released King Joe STORAGE Custom, the Terraphaser features multiple points of movement and parts in addition to the usual range of articulation in order to recreate its abilities on the show -- for one thing, the spikes on its shoulders have a fully functioning hinge mechanism to collapse into the TR Mega Buster chest cannon. Replacement parts are included meanwhile to recreate its telescopic right arm, and an alternate faceplate for when the mecha is being controlled directly by Agams.

Finally, as a bonus part; Terraphaser also comes with Decker's Ultra Dual Sword much like the Trigger Glitter Eternity figure did. This naturally also includes hands for Decker to hold it.

S.H. Figuarts Terraphaser releases as a Premium Bandai exclusive for 9,900 Yen in June 2023, with pre-orders to begin on January 16th.

I've been waiting to finish this gallery, but the repair still isn't finished. And I'm tired of waiting, so this will have to be an unplanned Quick Shots post with the pictures I had finished.

Before anything else, let me say this is gorgeous figure. It's well constructed, beautifully sculpted, and expertly engineered.

All except for one of the optional right hands.

It's incredibly loose on the joint. Check out my [Instagram Reel from last week] to see just how bad it is.

So in the time since, I've been layering acrylic floor polish in the wrist to thicken the joint. If all of the hands were loose, it would be easier. Then I could thicken the post and the joint. But since all of the other hands fit perfectly, I have to focus on the wrist joint. And that's a much longer process.

That's the take away. Whenever you're purchasing a limited run preorder, you're taking a gamble - especially from places like Premium Bandai where you pay up front.

That's not a deal breaker. But it is something to be aware of. The sales window for this figure has come and gone. There's nothing else customer support can do to replace this (also my fault for waiting this long to open it) - Just something to keep in mind.

But what matters in the end is that Dodoria really is an excellent toy. And it's an action figure of a character that doesn't get a ton of merchandise - who happens to be one of my favorites. I'll get the hand fixed up eventually. And even of I didn't, it doesn't affect my overall enjoyment of this toy.

2023 Art Plans

2022 as you saw was very productive year for me and even though it was my New Year's resolution it honestly never felt forced or rushed. Though I won't purposely keep the same pace, I do have plans of things I wanna try to make.

Firstly and I mentioned this on my Twitter, there is something special about seeing something you made sit among your collections like they belong there.

I will forever cherish this feeling and have it as a reminder for when I work on future projects.

So the planned to projects I would like to work on,

The DIY Funko- Lala Lus will have her day and will more than likely be started soon. It should be noted with anything I do I am taking my knee into consideration and listen to my body should it tell me it can't take sitting for long periods.

Another OOAK doll- I have I think four base dolls I bought for my FFXIV character so I would like to try and make her. Since I have more than one of this doll, mistakes can be made with little stress. Originally I wanted to do her throughout the years, from ARR to at the time Shadowbringers, which is still possible. But part of me also wants to display my fave glams for the jobs I play. So we'll see.

SNAK sculpture- I was lucky to get the Super Not Another Crap Kit and actually came up with an idea late November last year. I wanted to make a diorama environment with fake grass and flowers with the creature from the mold being my avatar's brass dragon, Kethend. This would be sn older version of the dragon, but I would also be adding Luscia too by customizing a body-chan figuarts. This will more than likely take a long time to complete so it's definitely for a little down the road.

Custom Hydro flask- I bought two with a gift card I got from work last year for this purpose. I just need to figure out what I want on them.

Misc crafts for gifts- I still need to make the two glass paintings I had planned as well as testing the techniques for homemade charms, so this will be sprinkled throughout my crafting days.

Work on my fics- Yeah, I've been on a hiatus since finishing Love Eternal last year. I would like to work on the ones I want finished, but I have learned not to force it. So we'll see what happens. I did, however, start to post more of my FFXIV fic Soul Voice since I do have a chunk of that written since 2019 and never posted.

Lots of things to look forward to and I am excited to get crackin on them

ive had passing thoughts yes! but the big thing ive noticed about the official infomaniac mini figures is that like. they're not accurate to the actual lego island pc game version of the infomaniac?? like the okay look at this right:

like sure you got all the colours right but. come on where's the little bits of tape that keep his glasses on. why's he got gray hair spiking down from beneath his cap. and his little badge is too low. i mean, atleast they got his little bowtie right. (i think he has the Lego logo on his back too or something??) like come on yall this is an imposter. a fake. a rat bastard. man who works with the brickster. and don't get me started on the original infomaniac lego figure:

put your gloves back on you filthy bitch. and they replaced the tape with sideburns?? sweetie the hat in lego island doesn't go low enough for them to be his side burns. wake up!!! and dont get me started on the unnecessary levels of detail for. all his decals. the mall santa equivalent of the infomaniac. bitch, straighten your little i pin and get those little pencils out of your pocket this instant. the i on your badge stands for imposter. among us eject your ass out of here oh my god.

:) there is seriously no reason for me to act this way about the infomaniac. like i really don't care all that much about his irl counterpart, but these are thoughts ive had when looking up his design for reference. i draw this little slut in ms paint and i do a better job at getting him right.

that aside!!! idk if id legit go through with buying him to have as a little shelf decoration, i kinda don't have interest in that kind of stuff. like if it costs a lot of money? i feel bad cause like it's kinda just sitting there. for me to stare at i guess. but hey if you're into that kind of thing, don't let my mindset ruin that for you :)
