Mayakern!

I like Mayakern a lot because they cater a lot to plus size bodies! They have plus size models and Mayakern themselves is plus sized! Recently they’ve been expanding beyond skirts to things like dresses and shirts. This makes me very excited because not only are these shirts cute as heck, but some of them are even more standard/essential shirts but are made with bigger body types in mind. So often fat people have to just settle for good enough,but its clear that Mayakern makes her stuff so that anyone wearing it can be confident! There’s also ton of customer pics you can see to tell how clothing lays on various body types.

Umvvelt

Umvvelt focuses on fish/ocean themes and I absolutely love how creative they get - they’ve done a bunch of different fish lines focused on rays to jellyfish to sharks. I particularly adore their pinafores - I own three of them and they’re very comfortable AND have pockets. 

Carmico

A classic - I think the brand that got me really invested in indie clothing brands? Carmico does themed drops a couple times a year where they design a myriad of clothing pieces that all have a similar vibe/theme. I think they do a good job at getting creative while still having the clothing be something I would wear! From button-ups to sweatpants to jackets Carmico has the variety and the style. A lot of their clothing gives the vibe of something you would draw on a character and wish existed in real life - except now it does exist in real life! 

Morningwitch 

Another classic, if you haven’t checked them out by now PLEASE do. Morningwitch has SUCH as eye for design and patterns and color. Chiefly known for their creative button up tops (of which I own several) they also have expanded quite a bit recently. Their skirts are probably my favorite style of all the skirts on this list because they have a thicker band. They also do some relief print shirts, the CUTEST jackets (if you’ve seen pics of brownies pomegranate jacket this is where they got it) and on their twitter they have a lot more fun stuff brewing. Much like Mayakern they’re starting to branch out beyond their ‘standard’ (the button up tees) into new avenues and I personally look forward to what that brings! 

Knockthrice

This indie store blends concepts and casual wear together into something extraordinary. From their knight cardigans, to their ‘tea’-shirts, to their themed over-the-garden wall collections they have some of the most beautiful pieces you may ever see. Knockthrice does a great job at blending ideas into clothing in a creative way so make it something that I would wear in daily life. Their shirts are a good, durable, thick material - although maybe a little warm for the summer. A lot of their stuff gives me fall vibes, and as someone who loves fall the most out of all season - I eat it up! 

Envygreen Manor

More of a newcomer on the scene as far as I am aware, envygreen manor also does themed drops once or twice a year. However, their clothing it usually more of a mix between casual tees and more formal elements - their vests or poet shirts come to mind. I instantly fell in love with them when I saw their mock-neck designs and felt like they somehow knew me and exactly the kind of shirt I would want from them. 

Vetiverfox Apparel/Witch Vamp

Putting these two together because they kind of occupy the came part of my brain! They’re both skirt focused brands much like Mayakern. Vetiverfox typically has more intricate designs or patterns, while Witch Vamp usually has bolder themes - not that thats a hard rule or anything! I own I believe a skirt from each of them (soon to be two from vetiverfox!) and highly recommend at least taking a peak and seeing if anything catches your eye from either brand! 

Mothsprout

Mothsprout only has a few clothing options, but I absolutely HAVE to mention them. Mothsprout has two muscle tank designs that I literally wear like once a week - I’ve actually considered getting a second of the wolf design just so I can wear it more often. Their designs vary from intricate to fun, and honestly I would never pass up a chance to wear their beautiful art as clothing.

Huh. It worked.

So, I'm unbelievably burnt out at my job but I guess a tiny part of me either still cares like 1% or is OCD because there are certain things that drive me absolutely up the wall and I really, really want them changed/fixed. But each time I bring up suggestions to my managers, they swiftly ignore me.

Just to be clear, the suggestions are "hey maybe we should have price tags on the products that we're selling in the store. I'm willing to take the time to tag things if you could provide me with the machine that prints the tags. Customers complain to me every shift about our products not having visible prices." Or "hey whatever happened to the price scanners? We used to have them on the main aisles and then one day they disappeared. They weren't malfunctioning before that. And if they were, why weren't they replaced? It's been years. Customers hate having to track one of us down to price check something." Or "hey our online inventory is completely inaccurate and it makes finding products difficult for us and customers. Is there any way to fix this? Can we employees be doing something?"

Of course I get brushed off or told some vague bullshit like "oh corporate made the decision" "it's up to corporate" with no further explanation.

HOWEVER.

I realized my manager was paying attention to some reviews because she had us change some things based on some survey. Like greetings. I figured out that we had receipt surveys. (we have never been required to push these and only management can read them, so there was no reason I would know about them before this) I tested out ny theory by artificially tanking our greeting ratings and my manager almost immediately was on us to greet every customer. I realized I could use this to my advantage and make complaints/constructive criticism as "the customer" (nothing obvious that would come back to me. I'm not stupid. It's not like I'm leaving reviews that say "give OP a raise! They're the best!" I'm not that stupid)

And you know what? It's slowly working. I had heard many customers complaining about the lack of price tags, so some "customers" complained about them in the reviews and a few weeks later, my manager was tagging everything in the queue line. I'm currently still working on getting the entire store properly tagged and getting the godawful music they play on the radio changed. (Ok fine, that one's for me, I can't stand that garbage, specifically Lovefool by The Cardigans. It's a mediocre song on its own, but I am not exaggerating when I say it plays at minimum twice an hour- I counted) But it's fucking working. No one is more shocked than me. Because my main motivation when starting this little project was to prevent myself from completely losing my mind and also screaming some of the things I hated about the store into the void and would you fucking know it? The void is responsive.

HEY! I like that song. I know Malwart got rid of the price scanners around the store to force customers to download the app. And are even making some self checkouts pay to use by making them only available to Malwart+ subscribers.

if you're looking into violet's style and just want to dress like her, i recommend doing research on all of her outfits. she dresses very grunge-like at times with a twinge of girly and boho style. a great example of this is her outfit in “home invasion”, where she wears a dress and a flannel paired together.

the way she wears dresses is slightly influenced by 90s style. in “home invasion”, violet asks the girls if the tights they're forcing her to wear are vintage. it's clear that violet loves vintage style clothing. this photo is from a 1996 delia’s fall catalog, which is similar to violet's clothing style.

model A is definitely wearing something violet would wear. as violet loves to pair short-sleeve dresses with long sleeves. she also often wears combat-style boots with dresses, or vintage-style ankle boots. she wears ballet flats a few times, giving her outfits a feminine look. she also does wear a few blouses. violet is more on the girly side when it comes to dressing up.

for shoes, violet wears a lot of boots and ballet flats. her most common boots worn are her urban outfitters ecoté equestrian ankle boot. she wears them with almost every outfit with leggings, tights, etc.. with most of her outfits, she does wear combat-style boots. a great example of this is her boots worn with her ymc dress and the boots worn with the joie cardigan. she does wear ballet flats a few times, once with the spending time pullover and once with her free people fit and flare burgundy skater dress. only once in the show she wears sneakers. she also wears black, lace up oxfords with her a.p.c dress, which are never worn again after that.

violet often wears patterned clothing. the most common pattern violet wears is floral. almost all of her dresses have floral prints. her tights also have floral patterns. she often wears paisley print tops as well, such as the free people regal macrame asymmetrical tunic and the paisley ruffle top worn underneath the banana republic striped cardigan. she likes stripes as well, her socks are striped as well as some of her cardigans and sweaters.

another thing to remember is that violet always layers her clothing. underneath sweaters, she always wears an undershirt. underneath dresses, she wears long sleeves, and so on. underneath tank tops, she often layers two long sleeves or rolls up the sleeves.

she most often covers up her body when wearing dresses. she always wears something underneath her dresses to avoid showing any cleavage. she always makes sure to wear long sleeves with dresses as well to hide her cuts. when wearing sleeveless dresses, violet will pair cardigans or long sleeves underneath a dress to avoid showing her arms. when wearing shorts and dresses, violet always wears tights or long socks. it's clear that violet doesn't like to show a lot of skin. when wearing tank tops or short sleeves, she always wears something underneath unless she's by herself or with tate. only a few times in the show violet shows some skin, but not very much.

violet also loves graphic t-shirts. she wears a few of them like the j. crew lake erie boating club henley, the custom-made kinks tee, and the nordstrom chloe k. multicolored feather print tee. when wearing these, she always wears a long sleeve top underneath. as for long sleeves, violet likes to wear burnouts, such as the free people floral burnout henley and the free people striped long sleeve burnout in sand.

as for color, her outfits are never really vibrant. most of the time they include colors with dark hues. she wears a lot of black, purple, burgundy, gray, and beige from what i've seen. most of her outfits consist of muted color schemes.

for accessories, violet wears a lot of hats and bracelets. she wears the urban outfitters bailey of hollywood cosgrove wide brim pork pie hat a couple times. she also wears a lot of knit beanies or berets. when wearing bracelets, she really just wears whatever, such as pearl bracelets, knot bracelets, hair ties, and so on. she likes to wear scarves too, and she wears a small wrist scarf around her wrist a few times. with every outfit, violet wears silver hoop earrings, which aren't too noticeable unless she pulls her hair back. she also includes different bags, such as her rothco book bag and her ecoté backpack.

another thing about her style is that she often wears a lot of free people and urban outfitters brands, such as pins and needles, staring at stars, bdg, ecoté, and so on. free people is a mainly boho style clothing brand, and violet does wear a lot of boho style clothing as well. once in the show, she does wear a crochet white beanie, which stems from the whole 2010s boho style.

she wears crochet tank tops, paisley patterns, floral patterns, macrame vests and tank tops, ponchos, crochet dresses, lace tops and dresses, fringe cardigans and bags, the list goes on. her style overall is a mix of 2010’s boho, grunge, and vintage style clothing.

if you're looking to actually collect exacts, then before you start collecting, i would recommend doing your research on violet's outfits so you don't get the wrong exact. i've seen people buy the wrong colorway of the trapeze slip dress, so you should probably do your research first.

to start collecting violet’s clothes, you may want to start with some common items. such as the items listed down below. do keep in mind, as the years go on, the availability of some exacts are getting more and more limited as they age, so get these while you can.

• free people intimately voile and lace trapeze slip dress in storm.

• anthropologie moulinette soeurs anthro horkelia shift dress in orange.

• free people fit and flare burgundy skater dress.

• free people lost in the forest knit pullover in tan/faded rose.

• free people spending time pullover in ivory/cream.

these items are almost always available, these are some casual staples in your collection that really capture violet's unique style. new collectors usually get these anyway because if and when any rarer items are on sale, older collectors usually strive to get those because they've probably been looking for them for a while. as you slowly start to build your collection up, you can start to buy rarer exacts.

i recommend searching for items on other apps such as mercari, poshmark, vinted, curtsy, and ebay. if you search hard enough, you can find these items for really cheap. you can type in the brand name of an item you're looking for with a vague description of it, just like this. you can even use image searches on poshmark and ebay if you want.

you can find really cheap exacts this way, but if you can't find anything, then don't be discouraged. mapleavenues has been selling exacts since the early 2010s, and she still does to this day. she's on depop, poshmark, and ebay. however, her prices are high, so if you're not willing to pay that much, then you may wanna start searching with this method.

this is pretty much all i have to say about dressing like violet. this was a bit rushed, but i tried! violet's style is so unique and it always surprises me. so don't be afraid to change up your outfits every now and then like violet does. hopefully i explained this well enough, but violet's style doesn't have a main theme, so it is very, very complex and hard to explain. :,) hopefully this helps.

TikTok was where I learned about SHEIN. For a while my For You page, which had accurately identified my interest in fashion’s more material impacts, served me videos of sustainable fashion influencers decrying SHEIN’s wretched labor and environmental practices. The textile industry is the second-largest polluter in the world, they said, and of all the fast-fashion producers, SHEIN is by far the worst offender. SHEIN uses toxic chemicals in their clothing production; SHEIN mass-produces fabrics like spandex that never decompose (at this point an image would flash across the screen: an overflowing clothing landfill, or a mountain of discarded clothes in the Chilean desert so large it is visible from space); SHEIN exploits and endangers its factory workers. Employees earn $556 a month to make five hundred pieces of clothing every day, work eighteen-hour days, and use their lunch breaks to wash their hair — a schedule they repeat seven days per week with only one day off per month. A more nuanced TikToker might point out, briefly, that conditions in SHEIN factories are not necessarily unique, or that focusing on suppliers — rather than the larger systems of Western consumption and capitalism that create these conditions — is a fool’s errand, but the platform isn’t built for that kind of dialogue. I clicked on the comments and invariably read ones with several dozen likes saying, “I’m so willing to die in shein clothes.” Before long I was watching SHEIN hauls. There are millions of them — the tag #sheinhaul has been viewed a collective 14.2 billion times on TikTok. In each haul, a woman rips open a plastic bag filled with smaller plastic bags filled with small plastic clothing. Sometimes the woman holds up each garment and narrates its merits, but often the clothes are disembodied, laid flat on a floor or a bed in an accidental stop-motion animation. A stretchy red skirt on a furry white carpet is replaced by a strapless watercolor bustier with a deep-V neckline. A zebra-print skirt is followed by a matching pink two-piece set, with a short-sleeve cardigan and miniskirt constructed from a fabric that looks like bubble wrap. Sometimes a haul is five pieces, and sometimes it is too many pieces to count. The garments appear and disappear in seconds, edited to the beat of a trending song. Rarely do we see the clothing on a body. Usually brand familiarity accrues in a slow drip, building from obscurity to instant recognizability over the course of months or years as a designer’s work intersects with the zeitgeist and gains traction on social media. SHEIN was different. One day I’d never heard of the retailer and the next it was inescapable: in thousands of outfit videos, on millions of social media feeds. The clothes weren’t distinct or cohesive; what united them wasn’t style but price. All those SHEIN hauls entered my feeds with such ubiquity that they began to feel like they’d always been there. I’d opened a door to a new part of the fashion internet: a place where girls bragged about their ultra-fast-fashion purchases, delighting in the cheapness of the garments. Here, SHEIN was the obvious choice for new clothes. Why not, when you could buy on-trend pieces at lightning speed for less than the price of a cup of coffee? It was uncanny to bounce between videos: here was a girl showing off her new halter, here was another girl giving a litany of reasons why it was unconscionable to buy clothes for so little money. Didn’t these TikTokers hear one another? But then again, how could they? “This is what we keep missing here in the whole conversation about sustainability in the industry,” Nick Anguelov, a professor of public policy from UMass Dartmouth, said to a Slate journalist writing about SHEIN in June. “We keep failing to understand that our customers are kids and they don’t give a fuck.”

there will be a small amount of leftover petticoats in both the canadian and US stores, but not in the UK store! and the US store is getting significantly more leftover petticoats than the canadian store, but there's also more customers in the US so i'm not sure what will sell out first.

canada will also be getting the maxi dress and lace cardigan preorders, but this round of printed midi skirts won't be in the canadian store unfortunately just due to how timing with orders timed out. so it depends entirely on what you're wanting to buy!

What kind of clothes do you normally dress Calliope in? Anything modern or stuff from the 1920s-30s?

Alastor: Of course! I usually dress Calliope in 1920s–30s-inspired outfits with modern comfort in mind. Lots of Peter Pan collars, bloomers, embroidered cardigans, Mary Janes, and little bonnets or bows. She has a few custom pieces—like a romper with a stitched radio motif—and even wears tiny gloves and capes on special days.

For messy play or naps, I let her wear modern onesies or pajamas with cute prints like stars or microphones. But most of the time, she looks like a tiny vintage doll!

The Poisonous Fangs | Part 1

Summary: A vampire cradles their dying human friend in their arms. They have a limited time to convince them to let them turn them into a vampire Pairing: Vamp!Harry x Y/N (reader)

Warnings: Vampire stuff (blood, drinking blood, etc.), violence (not till part 4 or 5), smut (will be indicated with a *)

Authors note: Hello all! Sorry for the delay! Here's part 1 of this 10 part series. I've been creating some custom photos, let me know if you like them please and thank you!! I hope you enjoy reading. Again, rusty on the writing! Please be kind, but constructive criticism is welcome and feedback as well!

[Y/N] hates parties and has never been a partier. However, she loves her boyfriend of 4 years Drew, so she allowed him to drag her to the club. It was October and thus all the bars and clubs had themed party nights, in hopes of throwing their sales through the roof. Tonight's theme was Dracula, so she stood in her cropped white shirt matched with her cherry-printed shirt and a cream-colored cardigan to cover her arms, but a few small tattoos were peeking through the material. Harry clocked [Y/N] the moment she stepped in the door, sensing her discomfort and her awkwardness. Her boyfriend had ditched her a few hours ago now, running off with some brunette to the bathrooms and then slipping out when [Y/N] was at the bar. Harry didn’t take his eyes off the pretty girl as he watched her get slightly sloshed, stumbling around the bar looking for her partner. His disgust for a man he’d never met grew as it dawned on her that she had been left alone, he could sense her discomfort as she approached the bar again. He decided this was his chance, if he had one at all, to introduce himself to the pretty girl and hopefully get her home safely because he had this feeling that he just couldn’t shake. He was sure she probably wasn't in danger, but he’d rather be safe than sorry. He felt this magnetic pull towards the other, which was a big deal considering he’d rather be caught dead than hang around with another girl after what happened with the other one. She looked scared and fragile. He had to swoop in before some creep did. 

“Can I get another whiskey neat, and whatever this beauty is having?” Harry called out to the bartender. He noticed that [Y/N] stood there for nearly five minutes, not even bothering to call out to the busy bartender, probably hoping he’d come over on his own accord. Harry’s assumption was correct, she was waiting for the bartender to recognize that she was there and that her drink was empty. She noticed around an hour ago that she had been ditched, making a mental note to break up with Drew the next day. This wasn't the first time she had been ditched, nor the first time she witnessed him leave the bar with another woman, she was just non-confrontational and rather soft-spoken, so she often walked all over. She smelled him before she could even hear the British-laced voice call out and instantly grabbed the bartender's attention, who came rushing over with a scared look on his face. The smell of vanilla and lavender invaded her senses, and she could feel his warmth radiating off him. “Uh.. Vodka Redbull with Cherry Grenadine please.” She spoke loud enough to be heard, but not outside her little bubble of, the bartender and the mystery man who seemed to pique her interest right away. Still, she was wrestling in her head on whether she should break it off. Drew was always a safe option to her, her parents loved him, and honestly? He kept the weirdos at bay. She looked over at the mystery man next to her, taking in the way his messy curls were perfectly swept and styled, the tattoos littering his skin and how his jawline was sharp honestly could probably cut something with how intense it looked. Her eyes trailed up and was met with his piercing green eyes and a small smirk plastered on his face. He let her ogle, not wanting to disturb her as she eye fucked him in the bar, hearing her breath hitch at the tattoos and hearing her heartbeat pick up while she took him in. He felt the need to protect her while she felt safe and intimidated but with that look on his face, how could you not? Harry didn’t want to overwhelm her, letting her do her own thing until he watched her as she watched her boyfriend leave the club with someone else. He was upset with him as he realized that this pretty thing was left alone in a dingy club, where people wore their best vampire outfits and preyed on naive people. It disgusted him really, and he was only there because his friend Niall insisted he get back out there and that he couldn’t mourn Mia forever. Harry disagreed, he had nothing but time and could mourn Mia forever. Yet, here he was, Mia long forgotten in his mind as his eyes swept over [Y/N]’s features. “My name’s Harry, what's yours?” He spoke first, wanting the awkward tension to disappear as quickly as possible. 

“[Y/N]..” She replied softly. 

She wasn’t sure if he could hear her and was surprised when Harry responded, he must’ve had really good hearing because the music was blasting and she was never able to be heard, which is why she stayed silent during these nights. Harry kept the conversation flowing, which [Y/N] was thankful for. She wasn’t great at small talk and often avoided it. He learned a lot about her, they talked for an hour and [Y/N] forgot how Drew left with someone else. Her mind was just focused on Harry and the way his tattooed hand curled around his whiskey neat. She was starting to wonder what it’d look like wrapped around her throat. Though, she’d keep those thoughts to herself. She was still a taken woman. Harry offered to pay and did pay, as she was fumbling through her bag for her wallet and she couldn’t. She offered to pay him back via Venmo or Cashapp but Harry declined, not caring about the money aspect. She had mentioned taking an Uber home, and Harry thought this was his opportunity. “Uh, I can always take you home. I’ve only had a few drinks and it’s worn off now.” Harry wanted her to get home safely because he had this feeling creeping up on him that something was watching them and he wanted to make sure she wasn’t harmed. She did stop drinking around 30 minutes ago, only drinking water because Uber’s always freaked her out and she wanted to be somewhat aware of her surroundings, yet here was this handsome man offering her a ride. She accepted the ride and that’s how she ended up in his blacked-out SUV, light music playing in the background at a tolerable volume. Her strawberry-scented perfume filled the car and was soaked into his seats, he could hear her blood pumping through her veins and every bone in his body wanted to take her back to his place and worship her. He had been so filled with rage still that Drew left her alone. Thankfully, she had given him her number shortly into the conversation. Which was a shock to both of them, because she didn’t seem like the type to do that. However, [Y/N], was just taken by this fascinating human being and how his attention was solely on her. She felt this guy wasn’t a weirdo, giving her address and number over with ease and Harry felt honored that [Y/N] seemed to trust him. 

He walked her to her door, kissing her cheek, slightly terrified that it was too much but a blush rose to her lips and he knew deep down it was okay.

The next morning, [Y/N] woke with a pounding in her head and her memory wasn’t all there, but it was still there. She checked her phone, disappointed that Drew hadn’t even bothered to text or call her, which she half expected. She wanted to end it, but she didn’t want to be a bother. She’d wait until he texted her, her mind was drifting to Harry and she didn’t feel guilty one bit. 

After breakfast, a massive bottle of water, and some painkillers, the dull ache in her head had slowed to a halt, and she felt oddly confident. The kiss on her cheek still lingered and she’d be lying if she said she didn’t touch herself last night and wished it was him instead. She was thankful he didn’t come on too strong and genuinely seemed interested in her. If you could gather that from a couple-hour conversation in a dingy nightclub over a few drinks. Over her being ditched which was embarrassing, to say the least. Her phone pinged and she hoped it was Harry, only to be met with Drew asking to meet and talk, she declined and instead texted Harry. She didn’t want to hear any more excuses from Drew, she knew he cheated and that was enough to make up her mind. Sure, there had been rumors but she never believed something without seeing it with her own eyes first. To: Harry 

Hey! Thank you again for the drink and for driving me home. I appreciate it, you’re right Ubers are weird. Are you busy later today?”

She wasn’t sure what took over her, never would she be the one to ask someone else out, yet here she is. Asking a random stranger out over text, while deciding how to break up with her boyfriend of four years. From: Harry Hey, I made it home thank you. I hope you dumped that loser, by the way, I hope your hangover isn’t too bad. I’m actually at the shop today, I own a mechanic shop. Did you want to stop by? He was surprised by her boldness but rather excited at the same time. She wanted to see him, on her own accord. To: Harry Getting ready to break up with him now, and then I can swing by if you have an address. She couldn’t help but smile as she texted Drew back, asking him to meet up at their favorite cafe. She didn’t tell Drew that she was going to be breaking it off, because what he had done and had been doing was unacceptable. 

Breaking it off with Drew took an hour too long. She listened as he pleaded with her and swore they didn’t do anything, but she knew better. After Drew failed to convince [Y/N], he quickly left the cafe, with tear-stained cheeks and bloodshot eyes. Which she knew he would use to make her the villain, despite the fact that he was the one who cheated. She checked her phone, a smile spreading on her cheeks when she noticed Harry sent over the address. When she stood, she went to get herself a Matcha for the go, remembering that Harry said he loved Matcha too. She noticed his chocolate brown curls standing in line, raising a brow she approached him and softly called out to him, “Harry?” She didn’t know where the confidence she had this morning went, but she envied him when he turned and looked revived, with a matcha in hand and cherry-stained lips. He looked like he had never even taken a sip of alcohol the day before. 

“[Y/N]! Hey, fancy seeing you here. This cafe is just down the road from the shop. Come here often?” Harry took this opportunity to look over her. She was wearing a sage green cardigan, a black crop-top, and adorable cherry-printed jeans.

“Yeah.. I actually just got done uh breaking it off. I come here to study with friends and just relax.” Harry remembered that she was a college senior, already accepted into a master’s program. She was smart and he was enamored by her. He wanted to know all there was to know about this girl whom he only met a mere 13 hours before.

“Oh.. how did that go? The breakup?” He noticed her searching through her bag again for her card, noticing she ordered a matcha as well. He slipped his card into the machine instead, wanting to do something nice for her. “I’ll pay you back for that if you ever send me your Venmo.” She mumbled. Instead, he declined and offered to walk her back to her apartment. The shop wasn’t busy, and he was on lunch, so he could spare a few hours to spend with her. He had that gut feeling that she wasn’t safe again and he noticed the shift in the air when someone who looked familiar walked in, but he couldn’t place him.

It was a short walk, maybe 5 minutes, and the whole 5 minutes Y/N opened up about how the break up went. Before she knew it they were at her door and she was saying inviting him in. They talked for around an hour before Harry got a text from one of the mechanics saying he needed help. Harry didn’t want to leave and [Y/N] didn’t want him to. Reluctantly, he stood and walked to the door. She leaned up and kissed his cheek, wanting to give Harry something for what she deemed his troubles, despite Harry being more than willing to listen to her ramble all day if she gave him the chance. Harry promised to text her when he made it home, as she watched him walk back down the stairs and seemingly disappear from view. That’s when Harry’s phone pinged, his eyebrows stitching together in confusion. He just left Y/N, it couldn’t be her. He didn’t really give his number out to others. Only his close friends, all 3 of them, and his family. His face went stone cold as the hair on the back of his neck stood up, reading the sentence on the screen,

“This will end in blood, Styles. You better watch out for who you fuck around with. Would hate for something to happen.”

Harry looked around, he didn’t notice anything out of place. He didn’t recognize the number, but he got that gut feeling again, one he didn’t want to ignore.

“Hey.” Gwen flicked the camera lens of Margo’s phone. “What’d I tell you about recording live with me here?” 

“Hey-o, you could’ve broken the lens. Relax, you’re not in the frame.” Suddenly, Margo decided to aim her phone down at the floor. 

Then, Margo faced the camera back up at herself. “That was Gwanda–” 

“What? Why’d you introduce me as Gwanda?

“--she’s my ride or die. My sister from a white mister.”

Gwen’s voice went squeaky. “You didn’t need to introduce me as Gwanda!” 

“Hey, speaking of ride, peep the jeep.” Margo turned the phone around to capture every corner of the interior of Gwen’s Honda Accord. Crumbs of various snack foods littered the bare floor’s fabric full of pulls and snags, the seats’ leather was cracked, with hints of stuffing peaking out, and the ceiling had copper stains bordering around the windows–signs of dried rainwater the roof couldn’t keep out.

“Excuse me, don’t show people my car.” Margo giggled as Gwen reached for the phone, her fingers peeking into the frame, but Margo held it out of reach, sticking her tongue out through her teeth with a fish-eating grin at Gwen. Gwen rolled her eyes, but was biting down on her cheek hard, like she was trying to bite back a chuckle.

Margo made an exaggerated shrug, her chin tucking into her neck in that funny way she always did. “What are you worried about, think someone’s gonna steal it? This model doesn’t even exist anymore–oh, hey–” Margo peeked at the comment section running down the right side of her screen. “Gwen, chat wants to know if you’re a time traveler. What with your grampy sedan.”

Before Gwen could voice a crabby response, she was put on full display of the stream as Margo snapped the camera toward her. Margo nearly barked a laugh. Gwen looked like a deer in headlights. 

Gwen shrugged nervously as she searched for an answer. “I…am an antiquarian!”

“Oh, so you’re saying you’re like one of those Youtuber ladies who live like it’s the 1950s.”

“Yeah, yeah, one of those, for sure!” Then Gwen’s brow immediately furrowed, “What’s Youtuber?”

Margo lowered the camera to allow herself to look at Gwen with a disappointed scowl, the corners of her mouth pinched into an almost comical frown, like she was wholly unsurprised. Margo turned her phone camera back at herself as she faced forward at the windshield. “You are most astuciously unfathomable,” Margo muttered in a funny voice that sounded like she was mimicking a character Gwen didn’t know. 

Margo addressed her stream. “Yeah so, we’re uhh, checking out this cute cat cafe at the Smith Haven Outlets. Gwanda’s never been, so–oh, hey, Gwen, wanna do a fit check?”

Gwen’s brow raised, her eyes flickered between the road and Margo as she stuttered. “A…fitness check?”

“No, like, you show the viewers what you’re wearing.”

Gwen perked up. “Oh, okay, sure.” Gwen turned slightly in her seat toward Margo, without taking her eyes off the road, switching from her right hand to her left hand to steer to avoid blocking the view of her outfit. She pinched at each article of clothing with two fingers as she presented it. “Uhh, this cardigan. Custom made–I used my drumsticks to knit it,” she said with a proud smirk. “Uhh, fishnet top. Jean shorts with stars. The works.” Gwen received oohs and awes from Margo at every piece of clothing. “Oh, and–” Gwen reached up a hand to the top of her head where a pair of cheetah print sunglasses lay tucked into her blonde hair, and flicked them down with a finger so they fell over her eyes perfectly. “Cheetah girl.” 

Margo nodded her head in approval, then something on her screen caught her attention, and she just guffawed. “Yeah, she is Ramona Flowers, for real, for real!” Margo seemed to have been speaking to her audience rather than Gwen. 

Gwen flushed, lifting her sunglasses off her face back on top of her head. “No idea who you’re talking about,” Gwen grumbled under her breath.

Gwen pulled out from the intersection into the road that served as an entrance to the parking lot without even touching the break, taking advantage of the space available on the left side of the road to drift past a pedestrian who couldn't be bothered to use the sidewalk.  

Margo’s fingers twitched for the armrest. “Not gonna lie, I think you drive with way too much confidence.”

“Well, when you’re driving, there can’t be any indecisiveness. Are you listening, chat?” Gwen said ‘chat’ with a weird cadence, like she didn’t fully understand who or what it was she was naming. “The moment you get sweaty palms on the wheel, you’re eating airbag and getting thrown into the chokey personally by the beak because Pav’s your lawyer.” 

Margo threw her hands up in a giddy shrug. “Why does my hypothetical lawyer have to be Pav? Bro, If I need a lawyer, I’m calling Saul Goodman. Or Phoenix Wright. Or Attorney Woo. Or any of the guys from Suits.” Margo addressed her audience, “I haven’t–seen Suits.” Margo turned the dial up on Gwen’s air conditioner. “Stop sign.”

Gwen held up a finger. “I saw it before you mentioned it, I was gonna slow down! Besides, hey, look, you see anyone out right now? The roads here are always empty, I’m more likely to get into a car crash in your–your–Hyperspace whatchamacallit.” Gwen’s fingers wiggled in the air as she accentuated the word “Hyperspace.” Gwen pulled the car into a parking space way too quickly for comfort, but the car dropped velocity perfectly as she parked it, the car barely jostling as she floored the break, Gwen’s ego vindicated. 

Margo looked at the camera as she stepped out the passenger door. “I’m so sorry, about her, y’all, see Gwanda quite literally has electromagnetic hypersensitivity, so she’s allergic to modern technology. She lives all the way in the hamptons up in a treehouse.” Margo paused to read comments. “Yeah, she’s like Chuck McGill, for real, for real.” She barked a laugh that was directed at Gwen, who was standing right behind her with her arms crossed and her face pinched into a grimace. Her face was beat red, and her brow was furrowed so low, they cast a shadow over her eyes. 

“Hey, you know what you look like right now?” Margo nearly closed out of her stream before remembering herself. She turned back to Gwen. “Gimme your phone. Oh, wait, dang, I forgot, you don’t got one do you? HAH–” Margo slapped her knee as she cackled. “Clocked it!” Then she proceeded howling in laughter.

For a few seconds, Gwen still wore her grimace. Then, Gwen snatched Margo’s phone straight out of her hand and took off running down the parking lot, her salmon cardigan flowing in the wind as she buffeted away and in through the mall doors.

Margo nearly barked a laugh. She threw her arms up. “Hey!”

“Hey chat, it’s me, Gwanda. I’m your host now.” A white cat climbed up onto Gwen’s lap, sniffing at the lens before yawning directly at it. “This is Maxie, she’s the new mascot of Margo’s…show.” Gwen stroked Maxie’s head with her knuckles. “You’ve got a nice place here, Maxie, mind if I show chat?” Gwen faced the camera toward her surroundings. A rustic cafe with brick walls, scratched up floorboards, and pink and yellow paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling that lit the shop in a warm, ambient coral that complemented Gwen’s cardigan nicely. An entire wall was dedicated to posted up photographs of cats at various ages. Some were wearing out, aging, mementos of the cafe’s history. 

The door chime rang out in the cafe, a gust of chilly air from the mall lobby sweeping in. Maxie took cover from the disturbance in Gwen’s striped, salmon cardigan. 

Gwen turned the camera to herself. She held up a finger and spoke sagely, “See how I’m asking for her consent to show her private spaces? Life lesson two, chat: boundaries and consent.”

“You use Lyla to spy on your boyfriend, you ain’t stuff.” A chestnut-colored hand snatched up the phone out of Gwen’s hands. 

Gwen flushed. “I-! Dude! Miles might be watching–”

An incredulous smirk found its way onto Margo’s face. “Bro, you think I can stream transdimensionally? Ms. Back-In-The-90s! You hijacked my stream!”

Gwen held her hands up and clasped them together like she was begging. “Mars Bar, you’ve no idea how deep my remorse runs. Tell me how I can make this up to you.” 

Margo waved a dismissive hand while her focus was set on getting Maxie to do something interesting on stream, the poor feline too content burying herself in Gwen’s discarded cardigan, greedy for its warmth. “I don’t know, order like, the sugariest stuff they have.”

Margo put the camera on Gwen as she traipsed to the counter with a hand rubbing at her neck. Margo couldn’t help but imagine cartoon sweat drops at the back of Gwen’s head. Margo’s voice dropped to a whisper, “Hey, check that out.” She zoomed in on what appeared to be a painted temporary tattoo on Gwen’s upper left shoulder blade–a painted dolphin soaring over a sea of marigolds. Margo wolf whistled, which prompted Gwen to whip her head back at her, bewildered. 

Gwen ordered a Pawberry Shortcake, three Meownie Brownies, and two Kitten Mitten Cocoa with extra “Meowshmellows.” Margo barked a laugh at Gwen as she struggled to confidently read out the last word without cringing at herself. Gwen stumbled over to their table with her head down and her shoulders hunched in shame, with a thin, cheap piece of paper that had a bold black #4 on it pinched between her fingers.

Gwen pulled a novel out from her bag to read while they waited, Maxie flopped over on her back on Gwen’s shoulder. Gwen kept an eye on Maxie, concerned that she might fall off. Gwen tried correcting Maxie’s position to be safer, but Maxie kept returning to that unnerving position that could not be good for a human’s spine. As much as Gwen loved cats, she thought they behaved like the most esoteric non-human living things on any earth. Of course Margo was getting Gwen and her new floppy companion on stream. Gwen didn’t exactly know how streams work. She’s used to tuning in to Friday Night Live from the comfort of her couch, but that required tons of professional video production equipment that Gwen and Peter had only dreamed about getting their hands on. They were such big film nerds back then. Flash forward four years, her best friend from a dimension that was only set a couple decades ahead of her own was broadcasting live video on the internet from a handheld smartphone. Of course, at this point Gwen had been to dimensions with superhero suits made of holograms and maglev trains to the moon, but those worlds looked nothing like Gwen’s. Earths like Margo’s, well, they didn’t look too far off, more or less. 

Gwen flinched at a silly voice shouting “give us some money!” emanating from Margo’s phone. “What was that?” Gwen poked the phone. 

“Oh, I just got a dono. It’s a… donation. Like viewers send me money.”

“...For free?”

“You’re dumb.”

Gwen threw her hands up in mock offense. “You insult me for things I don’t deserve to be insulted for.” She turned to face the room as if to talk to someone else. “Is anyone seeing this?”

The barista slammed a hand down on the countertop bell. “Meowrder for number four!”

Gwen turned to Margo with a raised brow and her upper lip pinched up in that sneery way Gwen always did whenever she witnessed something she didn’t have patience for. “'Meowrder?’” 

Margo rested forward on her elbows, her fingers flicking out instead of her doing a shrug. “Oh wait, I think that’s them saying ‘order’ but it’s a cat cafe so like, they gotta meow.”

Their order was ready, but Gwen hadn’t made to get up, her book still flipped open. When she felt Margo’s eyes on her, she chirped bluntly as she licked a thumb and turned a page, “I love you, Margaret.” 

Margo craned her head back. “I–thanks? You got our money, go pay for our order.”

Gwen still wouldn’t lift her eyes off the page. “I have a confession to make.”

Margo stared blankly at her, then her shoulders dropped and her brow furrowed as her jaw went slack exasperation. “Your butt is broke.”

“Yeah.”

“I gave you a five!”

“Here it is.” Gwen reached a hand under the table into her bag and fished out a pair of plastic wrapped stacks of DVDs with the price tags still stamped on and slammed them on the table. Margo recognized the movies instantly–the Star Wars prequel and sequel trilogies. 

“Oh nah, you’re stupid.”

“It’s 1996 in my dimension! There’s no Disney Plus! Phantom Menace isn’t gonna be out for another three years, I deserve this.”

Margo pulled out a crumpled up twenty dollar bill from her pocket and made for the counter. Gwen followed close behind her.

Margo spun around and shoved the camera in Gwen’s face, walking backward. Gwen flinched with a grimace. “Chat, this girl paid a highly inflated price to watch Rise of Skywalker on a CRT TV. Everyone spam spoilers in the chat.” 

“What, so the new ones are bad?” Gwen’s question was directed partly at Margo, but also partly to the audience watching the stream as her eyes darted between Margo and the phone camera. When Margo pursed her lips, Gwen shook her off, rolling her eyes at her. “Y’know what? Doesn’t matter, y’know why? Because Hobie and I’ll just sell whichever ones we don’t like on my Earth and we’ll get rich and I’ll pay you back your five dollars.” 

“Pfft. Whatchu gonna tell’em, that they’re fan films?” Gwen held up an accusatory finger to Margo’s face, her hand nearly hitting the camera. “I’ll have you know that in the grand timeline of the multiverse, fan made films peak in the 90s.”

She is a very lively, friendly girl who cares for others more than she cares for herself. She uses humor and sarcasm to diffuse situations often. While she appears to be very easygoing, Maggie actually has very low self-esteem and bottles up her big emotions, which cause her to be very sensitive and defensive, making her especially catty and blunt during verbal arguments. Maggie was raised Catholic and is forced to act as the perfect, family-oriented, obedient daughter at home. She likes a wide variety of music, most notably Bananarama, Donna Summer, the Runaways, Dokken, Caifanes (Mexican goth rock band), TOTO, and the Beatles. Her hobbies include playing volleyball for the Derry High girls' team, sewing her own clothes (most of her closet is homemade), going to the record store, and nature walks in the woods or quarry whenever she has free time away from her family.

Victor Criss

Maggie and Victor meet during fifth-period chemistry after being paired together as lab partners. Before then, the two hadn’t interacted much; while Victor always thought she was pretty, they ran in completely different social circles, so he didn’t know her well enough to form a romantic interest in her.

However, once they start working together, Victor falls — hard. He's very much attracted to soft, gentle, artistic types, and as he engages in polite small talk with her throughout their lessons, he becomes extremely interested in Maggie.

And, as much as Victor likes those aforementioned types, what he likes most is someone who has a bit going on in their lives, particularly because he can relate, and believes that the best relationships come through working through issues together. So, all in all: the guy's sold.

After learning more about her and taking her family life into account, Victor would ask her out in the most gentlemanly, Victor way by asking to meet her after class before laying the big question: "would you like to go on a date with me?"

The dates would be extremely thoughtful and sweet; the first date, Victor takes her to Derry's record store, and tries picking out records for her that she likes, learning her music taste in the process. While Vic has a pretty cut-and-dry post-punk music taste, he's extremely open-minded, and would make a point to listen to things she recommended.

As he learns her taste more, he makes her custom mixtapes, and will 100% jam out to Cafaines with her.

On that note, Victor is absolutely enthralled by her hobbies. While creative, he's not super crafty, and also... he is not a sporty person at all. He's very much blind to physical senses, so he loves watching her play, and finds a lot of joy and solace in being around her while she sews or goes on walks, even if the two aren't talking too much.

(Also, let's be real, Vic thinks she's really hot while playing volleyball).

Additionally, Vic would be pretty in-tune with the standards her family imposeds on her regarding religion. He grew up in a New-Age, spiritual household, and nobody can be blind to the effects of organized religion in Derry's heavily Catholic community. He wouldn't be pushy, but he'd definitely try to talk to her about her religion, home life, etc.

To that point, he knows what it's like to always have to be the "rock" for people, and while he doesn't have that gendered, religious aspect to his experiences, he understands that Maggie does, and he takes that very seriously.

Vic would be able to understand her insecurities, and would always put boundaries between people (*cough* Bowers and Hockstetter *cough*) and her. He specifically makes sure what is and isn't O.K. in the relationship (E.G. is it fine if he picks you up at your house? What compliments are O.K.? What compliments are not O.K.?) and is always very attentive to her.

However, the guy's a massive stoner, and will sometimes lose social awareness, which could possibly lead to discomforts in situations with other people; while he's Maggie's #1 guard dog and boundary-setter, when he's had two many hits of the penjamin, he goes into la-la land. I could imagine this causing some tension in the relationship, because he definitely would get too caught up in high-thoughts to realize what Patrick just said to Maggie, but not full-on arguments.

And, that brings us to the others boys. I’m going to be completely honest: Henry and Patrick are not good with people of color, particularly women of color. Patrick is more of a “casual” racist, who drops extremely offensive comments and "jokes" at the drop of a hat, while Henry… well, we know how he treated Mike.

So, Patrick would find every possible thing to say something offensive about when it comes to Maggie, whether it’s her heritage or her religion (and, since the ‘80s is when the priest scandals really started to hit mainstream, bro does not hold back). Henry, on the other hand, would probably not say much to her face, but make snide comments about her mixed ethnicity.

However, as he gets to know her more, he would warm up to her quite a bit. While I'd imagine Henry would say nasty things about Maggie concerning her heritage before her relationship with Vic — while they're in very different social circles, it's not hard to pick out a girl of color in a place like Derry — he would get at least ten shitty comments in.

I'm not gonna lie, the guy has two factors he uses to decide how awful he's going to be, and it's a) is she hot and b) is she the "standard woman": AKA quiet and likeable. If the answer is yes, he will somewhat cease his bigotry. On the outside, Maggie fits the "yes" to both, so she grows on him, and he would have at least one drunken bonding session with her.

That being said, as long as Vic isn't high as a kite, he will fight for Maggie. Our dude will go to war for Maggie. Even with the power dynamics in the group, Victor has made it clear he won't tolerate shit, and everyone respects that (even Hockstetter, in his own Hockstetter way, which... I mean, it's something, but he definitely still is a dick to her).

Belch, on the other hand, has a huge crush on Maggie. Like, huge. Embarrassingly huge. He tries his best to hide it, but he finds Maggie extremely sweet, funny, beautiful, and loves her taste in music — just because the guy's a metalhead doesn't mean he can't get down to some Beatles. Vic is his best friend in the group, so he tries not to let it show, but he always beams when he talks to her and makes an effort to be thoughtful, gentle, and kind to her.

All in all, while there are some canon-typical bumps (*more aggressive coughing* Patrick *even more aggressive coughing*), Victor and Maggie have a very good relationship, and the boys have accepted her (Belch especially). Have fun with them, Mags.

i hesitate to say i really HAVE a style because like, what if its just way off the mark? what if i make it sound cooler than it is?!!? i think the consistencies with my style are that i like to wear black (and burgundy accessories always), i keep my pants/skirts big, and my shirts small unless im wearing a big ass sweater or cardigan. my style inspirations are goth and twin peaks (lol) but i cant say i dress too closely to either one of those things all the time
