I’m trying out alternatives to Google Docs, because they get more suspicious by the day.

I have (and mostly like) Scrivener once I transfer stuff over from Postbox, but there’s no real ability to share work, and their cloud storage is clunky even when it works (and also relies on a Dropbox subscription, no thanks!).

So now I’m trying Dabble and I have to say, I’m really liking it. It’s expensive, but they’re working on sharing features, and the cloud storage/devise sync is as close as I’ve found to GD that’s also got similar features to Scrivener.

I thought about trying Ulysses but it sounds like the sync between devices features isn’t great, and people have lost work (which is my nightmare).

I also thought about looking at open source tools, but I don’t want to rely on the kindness of strangers that the tool will persist, and I’m also leery of spyware. Plus, honestly, now that I have a little money again, I’d like to pay someone to create a writing tool *for* writers, and where I’m the customer, not the product.

If anyone has recs for a writing tool other than Dabble, I’m all ears!

So. I lost a whole day's worth of writing and I'm sad about it. I had been using Dabble, which I actually loved but it was a trial and it expired. Since this is not the month to be getting new subscriptions to things, I decided to move my WIPs into something else.

I got this thing called Zettlr, LOVE IT. Moved the whole of the fanfic so far into it but when I went back to get my massive outline, it was gone.

Poof.

I ended up spending way too much time trying to figure out how to get it back. Emailed Dabble support but never heard back, and idk what else I can try.

Super thankful that I got the actual story out, but I really needed the outline!!! I had the next 6 chapters super detailed and now I have to try and remember everything. And my memory sucks!

I was really hoping to get chapter 9 done before Christmas, but that's not looking very likely at this point.

Anyway. It's fine. It's all gonne be fine.

Saw a fic the author said they co-wrote with AI. Girl (GN), disrespectfully, if you want to write an rp fic get on Tumblr or Discord and find a rp partner who will reply every 5-10 business months with the most incomprehensible formatting known to mankind and six paragraphs of naval gazing in an attempt to match your reply length, like god intended.

Working on an adaption of an existing media as a long form project is honestly my strongest recommendation for getting your creative brain going! Of course, there is still planning and hard work that goes into it, but the biggest creative pressures are much lower (And when anxiety brain is quiet, art brain thrives!)

That said, projects like this are a huge commitment, and I'm a bit of a freak case when it comes to the grind. PD-Scumvillian and I both put a lot of work behind the scenes to make it seem as effortless as it is. I'm wholeheartedly giving you my support should you go through with it; feel free to reach out and ask for tips and tricks!

i will forever complain about how they should have given lance's closet more variety as v*ltron continued on because clearly he's a person concerned with his appearance but canonically he just wears that one fuckass fit. i think if he was shown to be wearing different kinds of clothing, not only would it fit into the comedic beats of his character that the showrunner seems so insistent on, but also symbolize his growth as exploring his true feelings more and represent the multifaceted aspects of his character. you're telling me someone who's obsessed with romance and has a whole skincare routine is wearing a boring ass t shirt and jeans? smells like insecurity to me, insecurity that lance should have been given the time and space to grow out of.

"P..please..," he whimpered, forcing himself to lock optics with him. "I-it's too much, my cricuts are frying.." Boombox roughly groped a bundle of wires in response. Prang keened and jolted forward, allowing Boombox to snake his arm further into his abdomen. Boombox used his other mantis-like arms to pin Prang back to the floor before straddling his hips. Prang squirmed as he pushed deeper and deeper inside of him. Boombox cooed, "You're doing so well for me. You can handle a little more, can't you?"

He tweaked a few of taunt wire,

"You're voice is so sweet.. if only you didn't try to keep quiet."

He tangled his fingers in the wires and forcefully yanked on them, ripping a scream from Prang. Boombox lips curled in to a sickly sweet smile.

"Beautiful.. and just for me, right sweetspark?"

He leaned in close, his face only a few centimeters away from Prang's. Prang squeezed his optics shut and turned his face away the best he could. It felt wrong. It felt too intimate. Boombox straddling his hips, pinning him down, whispering sweet praises to him. It was as if they were lovers.

"Tsk.. I told you,"

Boombox used his last free hand to grab Prang's face, wrenching it to look his way again.

"To pay attention to me."

Prang made a small noise of protest as Boombox crashed their lips together.
