All day magazine’s have posted Austin’s cutest moments with Luci and talked about what a wonderful Dad he is - which no one would ever doubt to think he is - but Luci’s mom is very much present as well and deserves love too. Luci loves both her parents. It’s normal for a kid to have favorites, it doesn’t make the other parent ‘bad.’

okay this is it imma bout to rant about fiction once again

tell me why everyone knows and loves or at least has a strong opinion about the Lego Batman Movie, but i might just be the only human being who grew up IN LOVE with the Lego Batman Videogame(s)???

[THIS THING CONTAINS SPOILERS, I TRIED TO KEEP EM OUT BUT WHATS THE FUN IN THAT]

the first one is CLASSIC, no voice actors so child me could (and also couldn't cuz i was stupid) understand what was going on since I didn't speak english at all, and i remember LOVING the designs (they're not as good as i remember 😭) even tho i had no idea who the characters besides batman, robin and catwoman were. also that was when i fell in love with poison ivy cuz she had like ??? love powers (as i said, child me was a dumdum) cuz there was this one level where she controlled batman with a kiss akjdkakfkakdja

i remember i had a crush on justin bieber a little before the second game came out (it was babybabybabyohh) and then BOOM suddenly my childhood crush was a friggin blocky plastic minifigure wearing goth furry clothes:

(also, young me wouldn't know, but this is where i got most of the superbat vibes from-- when i saw this ship years later i was like "oh yeah, i remember in the videogame clark was head over heels for B and bruce was like 'i am the knight' which is batman code for ilyt", plus dick (who's dressed at tim for whatever reason) is like "oh yeah, why don't we call superman?" I'm telling ya he ships it

...i remember the whole game story like it's a fever dream i had-- there's an award show which bruce wins, joker jokers it up and batman & robin chase him, then i remember robin says something about how "dick grayson couldn't attend the party because they didn't take teenagers" (I didn't know who dick was so this was my introduction to him) and then fire in the elevator, SUPERMAN, [SPOILERS] he and bats visit lexcorp but turns out the other gay couple aka lex and joker did some lexing and jokering around and got a weapon that kills... black???? so batman would die-- but like-- he's not black, he's wearing black clothes-- oh shit, are they racist-- /j

now comes the final one:

wow this one is in space! kinda-- brainiac shows up and i remember this was the first time i saw j'onn and-- wait-- this robin is the same but-- in the scene where [SPOILER] batman is being mind controlled he says his name is.. tim drake?? who tf is tim drake, kid me would say. wow, there's more than one robin, kid me would say.

but then again, I didn't have this game cuz my dad was sick of spending our lunch money on videogames, so he got a gameplay online (just the cutscenes), glued them together and told me IT WAS A MOVIE (actually, i just assumed it) and i kept believing that until i saw my friend GAMEPLAYING said movie on his VIDEOGAME, one more evidence to "i was a dumb child.

and there was superbat shit in this one as well!! there's this scene where [SPOILERS] big blue babyboy is being mind controlled and is giant (tbh idek why he's giant and I'm not sure if they address why-- something to do with brainiac's shrinking kink i think) and brainiac is like "kill him" and bruce goes like "clark, ur my bestie, I don't say it often but i realized i gotta say it more cuz earlier tim almost got his ass eaten by a random alien and i felt fear" and clark is like "🥺🥺🥺" and mind control breaks with yay power of friendship (the whole plot is how in the beginning tim saying he was tim got bruce out of mind control which meant bruce cares about tim but bruce thinks it was cuz the batmobile went shock on him, so in the end he admits he was wrong and everyone hugs wow)

and after that i forgot dc was a thing until like four years later when dc superhero girls came out

anyway, thanks tumblr for listening to this lmao i just dumped my whole childhood in here, I'm glad this thing don't have character limit

Although he still has a lot of serious issues, he’s far from perfect as far as super hero parents go

i agree, i think a bunch of marvel super-parents are just generally awful people though? like, i wont mention lyra since i virtually know nothing abt her besides the fact that she exists. but skaar? he was absent that entire kid's life and he shows up and it's just suddenly buddy buddy like it's not okay my guy. and then he abandoned him because he essentially had a goal(please ik its way more complex than this)--and ik this was in his doc green era. and he kinda just Forgot that he had a son? which essentially made him evil but it was kind of bruce's fault, i mean i wouldn't ever forgive my parents if they forgot about me and then abandoned me after remembering me for a little bit because they get a little upset. what

the difference between bruce and bruce (lol) is that bruce wayne was an abuser and he regularly mistreated and corrupted his family. he made a broken family of broken people solely for his benefit. bruce banner, however, is a bad father because he was just never there for any of his kids ever.

My friend just moved to a her grandmas old place and she doesn't have internet, so instead we dug out Grandma's trusty VHS collection and watched a bunch of movies from the cusp of Y2K. We also have plans to dig out more because this is our thing now, fuck Netflix. So here's my reviews so far:

Holes. what a GREAT fucking movie. Good message that is blatantly anti-prison industrial complex and anti-capitalist. good morals, good soundtrack, great casting, the author of the text wrote the screenplay so it hits hard like the book does, the romance between Kate and Sam will be goals to me forever. "I can fix that"!?!? KILL ME JFJDJWKWKFNJRNE 11/10 good shit. youuUuUUUU got to goOooOoo dig those hooooles 🎶

Another one that's still good? POTC: curse of the black pearl. Yes it's Johnny Depp Disney Garbage Trash, but it's WRITTEN SO WELL. Whatever writers they got for that shit obviously have written many a fanfic (positive! praise!!) bc the dynamics and dialogue btwn characters flow so smoothly. It's absolutely and utterly unlike real life, it's just the pirate story we all always wished we could be in, and it's still an absolute blast. for that I award it 9/10. This one was funny bc it came out on VHS in time for the commercials to be advertising DVDs.

Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius? This one's hard, cus this was one of my FAVORITE movies growing up. I noticed going in, however, that I remembered far less about what happens to Jimmy and his friends then I did about Caveman. Basically all I remembered was Jimmy's dad is stupid, and "when I sneeze it looks like a advanced species too." and that's bc Jimmy Neutron is a completely vapid and inane tale with absolutely no message, that unfortunately did not stand the test of time to me personally. It's pretty much unremarkable. they try to mix the "he's a genius baby" humor with 5th grader booger jokes and it just doesn't work, the booger humor doesn't land for adults and the genius humor isn't quite smart enough to be actually funny most of the time. Tbqh I think watching this as an adult gives me more ideas for horror movies than anything else. They go into space ON ROLLER COASTERS, WITHOUT HELMETS!!! They're fighting an entire civilization of space traveling ritual sacrificing EGGS and they have A SINGULAR! ONE! CHILD! ARMY! TO FIGHT THEM!!!! THEY CANT BREATHE OUT THERE! that's too scary I can't take it seriously lmao. 4/10 with all positive points going to Jimmy's hot mom and himbo dad (ideal romance tbh and where 90% of the humor comes from), Carl, Sheen, and Cindy, for screaming "THOSE FINDINGS WERE INCONCLUSIVE AND YOU KNOW IT" during their first on screen fight, that joke did actually land so they can have a cookie for it. And the teacher who gets turned small and gets left that way forever. What the fuck lmao

We also watched Pocahontas and I mean. Even as a kid watching that one was more of a lesson in "here's how NOT to talk about history," and as an adult, her "romance" with John Smith is more weak and pathetic than anything I've ever seen before or since! We got to "Savages" and all I could think was "Disneys orchestra really put their whole pussy into this one, huh?!?" I wish I could say the rest of the movie/soundtrack made it worthwhile but I'm gonna go with a solid 2/10 here. we still had a fun time tearing into their choices, and the aesthetic of an old Disney movie watched on VHS like nature intended is a form of ASMR. I didn't realize how much I missed the clackety clack of the plastic cases or the smell of a warm, freshly rewound tape. <3 good shit.

Have you seen the news about the stage play? Apparently it will feature the Creels and their arrival to Hawkins. But there's some new characters too i guess?

Oh and also apparently Hopper, Joyce and Bob will have roles in the story too. I wonder if the other kids' parents will be featured or will it just feature Jim, Joyce and Bob (also what about Lonnie...? I guess he doesn't exist in the same school as them or something? I am not sure about this part). They also mentioned Joyce's surname before the marriage but i forgot. I am not sure how centered they will be in the story but it still would be enjoyable to watch Joyce's young ages tbh, but I am not sure if they're gonna focus on her relationship with Hopper and Bob.

Oh and the new characters feature a boy and a girl, they are different characters than Henry, Joyce, Hopper and Bob I am guessing, but i might be wrong. But the new characters are said to be 14 years old, so i guess they are entirely different characters or smth?

It says it's written by one of the actual show writers and executive producers, so that's a plus. Most of the spin-offs you see are just written by authors hired on to work on the IP. This would be "from the roots" almost. This is probably the most canon spin-off we've seen to date.

Looks like the Duffers themselves actually collaborated on this too so yeah.

As for the story itself, seems like Joyce, Hopper, and Bob are the titular characters. Question is, will they retcon Joyce and Bob not actually knowing each other in school or not. Maybe Hopper will be the thread that ties them together funnily enough.

I don't really know where this falls in the timeline of things. I'm sure I used to know how old Joyce and Hopper were but I also feel like they never explicitly said it...

In which case, Henry is like, 12 years old in 1959 isn't he? So them meeting each other seems unrealistic. I mean, I know the middle school and high school are on the same campus, but a direct meeting between Joyce, Hopper, or Bob with Henry doesn't make much sense.

The neighborhood Henry lived in also looked like the rich affluent part of town, which I don't think fits Hopper or Joyce's background so it's not like they'd be neighbors.

You were just thirteen years old when you came out to the market to sing for the first time. It was in the middle of winter, sometime in December. You’d put on three layers of clothes to keep yourself warm, managing to sneak your father’s expensive winter work boots from the closet to keep your toes from freezing.

You’d convinced the neighbors to take your younger siblings for a few hours, promising to pay them for the trouble of caring for them. Your mom was at work, trying to make up for the recent loss of money, picking up every shift that needed to be covered on the boats.

Your dad had only died a few weeks prior due to an accident out on the water. It could’ve been preventable, if he’d been paying attention. From what the men were telling your mom in the living room, hats in their hands, heads bowed to show respect when they were telling the story. He’d been standing in the middle of a tangle of rope, without realizing that it belonged to the anchor, which they’d already dropped. 

It was unwinding fast in the water, and he had no time to react. It was up in the middle of his thigh, and then the entire leg was gone. The rope took it clean off, and could've probably reattached it if they weren’t in the middle of the ocean. They didn’t know how to stop the bleeding, and so he died beneath the deck, trying to make him comfortable. He died from blood loss.

The best the mayor could do was present an award for his loyalty to District Four and the Capitol, one that you were forced to take home. Later, your mom begged you to try and find a way to pawn it for cash. It wasn’t worth anything, none of the metal was real or usable. The award ended up in the trash can, and she was hit with the bill for the funeral.

It wasn’t affordable.

You hadn’t seen her that upset in years. It was late at night, she’d already put your siblings to bed, you were the only one left at the dining room table. You were the oldest, they were all far too young to understand what was going on, much less be able to provide money in any way.

She was leaning over the counter, sobbing over the paper. She wanted to be able to give your dad the funeral he deserved. She loved him, and she didn’t want him to end up cremated. She wanted him buried in the ground, in the same area that your grandparents were buried.

Your mom had pulled herself together long enough to look at you, and told you that there was going to be changes in the house. She was going to have to sell the expensive belongings, and a few of the meals would be cut unless absolutely necessary for the two of you. It was out of the question for your siblings, they needed to be eating.

And then she said, “Unless you sign up for tessera, or find a way to help me.”

She sent you to bed after that, as if that was a comforting thought to fall asleep to. Your choices were to starve, lose all your belongings, work when you weren’t going to school, or put your name into the Hunger Games bowl more for shit government food that would last the year. Except, you’d have to get enough government food for everyone in your family, which meant putting your name in five more times a year instead of just the one.

You wouldn’t make it to seventeen without being drawn.

So, you chose the only option that you could stomach, and you were going to put yourself to use. You were going to sing in the market at the busiest time of the day; when the fishers came back from the boats. They would have to buy their family’s dinner that night and any essentials that they’d need.

You walked a mile down the road with your guitar and a bucket that you fully intended to fill. The guitar that your mom had been planning to sell for the past few days, because that was one of the more expensive gifts that your dad had given to you for your twelfth birthday. Like most of your presents, it went untouched despite the fact that you begged for it. 

You stopped in front of the fountain, put the bucket down by a bench, and got to work on making sure you were comfortable. The beanie was over the top of your ears, the scarf was pulled down from your mouth. Each time you breathed out, a puff of white air would appear and dissipate. 

You then sat down on the bench, pulled off your gloves and tucked them inside of your pockets. You removed the guitar from the case, tuned it. You did a series of quiet warmups, shaking your hands, playing a few repeating melodies on the guitar. Once you were sure that you were ready, you cleared your throat and started playing.

It didn’t catch anyone’s attention at first, they were all too absorbed in what they were doing at the stalls, but when your voice broke through the music, loud so that it couldn’t be ignored, you got a few heads turned. The songs you were singing were familiar to people who spend their entire day on a boat, ones that you were taught by your parents.

After the first few songs, to make sure that people got your rhythm and style, you started to take suggestions. That’s when the tips started to come in, because people felt obligated to show their appreciation. It started out slow, and it turned steady within the hour.

They would shop, and when they were done, they’d stand in a half-circle around your bench. Listening to your voice, watching your fingers on the guitar. You weren’t perfect by any means, but your mom always told you that you had a talent for music. No matter the instrument you’d touch in school, you managed to play it decently well the first time. 

That’s why you wanted the guitar, because the ones at school had to stay there. You promised that if they bought you one for the house, that they’d regret it because you’d play it so much. The guitar lost its appeal after that, and ended up on display in the corner of your room. Just another hobby that you’d picked up and abandoned.

There you were, though, watching coins and bills get tossed into the bucket. You realized pretty quickly that at the pace you were earning, you’d have enough for the next few days. Which brought on a new problem for you; how you’d explain to your mom that you followed her advice without her getting fussy.

She could be straightforward most of the time, but she doesn’t mean what she says all the time. Her telling you that you need to sign up for tessera might’ve been a warning to tell you that times were about to get tough. You know she’d never actually want you to put your names in more times. She can hardly stand the fact that your dad is dead, how would she live with herself if you naively followed her advice? She’d never sleep again.

By the time the rush ended at the market, you still had a few patrons standing around, not quite requesting songs but listening nonetheless. The sun was setting, you needed to get home to retrieve your siblings from the neighbors and pay them before they’d get antsy. If your mom were to get home before you…

You finished the song you were playing, and after the round of applause, you told them that you’d be back tomorrow at the same time, and that you hoped you’d see their faces. With the way that the Capitol has District Four’s schedules regarding fishing, there should be new people the next day, new opportunities to make money, and fix the mistakes you made. 

You bought dinner while you were at the market, stuffed it into the bucket on top of the money that you’d have to sift through later. When you got back home, you had enough time to put your guitar in the house and count out the cash to give to the neighbors, more than you said that you’d give them. You wanted to show them that you could pay them, and that you wanted them to babysit often. They take your siblings and make an extra income, and you’d have freetime to make that money.

Well, coming to that agreement was a lot easier than you thought it would be. She was more than happy to watch your siblings, mostly because they were well-behaved, and you didn’t take as long as they thought you would. They’d thought that they’d have them well into the night, as if you got an actual job and weren’t singing on the street. Not that you told them that.

You got your siblings started on their homework in the living room, while you made dinner in the kitchen. By the time your mom came home, it’d been done for a few minutes, and they were eating at the dining room table. You watched her face contort at the smell of the air, and the blood ran from her face when she saw what you made.

Her immediate reaction was panic, because you didn’t buy anything cheap. You managed to calm her down, telling her that you’d explain how you afforded it later that night, and she didn’t need to worry about the savings right now. She was suspicious, but decided not to argue.

For the first time in weeks, it wasn’t tense at the table. Your siblings went on and on about telling her how their day was, what they did at school, the projects they’ll be doing. She was relaxed, and nibbling at the food on the table because she didn’t want to eat it all tonight, save some of the leftovers. You had to tell her to eat, motioning to the table, begging her to enjoy herself.

As promised, that night you pulled the bucket out of your closet and dumped it all over the floor. She was apprehensively standing inside of your room with the door closed, staring at the cash and coins that littered the floor. She was speechless, and you explained to her how you did it.

“And I’ll do it again tomorrow.” You told her, “And the day after that. We will make it through this.”

She cried again. Together, the two of you counted how much money you made that night, put half of it towards the savings, and divided what was left over for other essentials that you needed in the house. Bathroom products, new clothes, food for the rest of the week. 

The reason why you started singing in the market was because you needed the money to keep your family afloat. That’s why you started. It wasn’t because you were passionate about music, and because you enjoyed singing in front of a crowd and pricking your fingers with the guitar strings.

It evolved into that point, though.

As the years went on, money wasn’t tight anymore. Most of the debt that your mom and dad had been in, were paid off. You weren’t struggling on your mom’s income. You could’ve stopped going to the market everyday after school. You could have a few hours to yourself to fuck around with your friends, but you tried that already. It didn’t feel the same, it was an empty gap in your day that felt wrong.

You were destined to be at the market everyday, sitting on that bench, singing in front of a crowd. You went from singing old District Four songs to creating your own, ones that people would come out specifically to hear you sing. They weren’t requesting what they knew. They wanted to know what you’d come up with in the time that they hadn’t seen you.

If you had stopped singing, you never would’ve met your boyfriend, Finnick Odair.

You knew his name in middle school, he was a friendly face to most of the people in the hallways. You never had any classes with him, and you wouldn’t know what he looked like until he was reaped during the summer. He was fairly tall, tanned skin, bronze hair and green eyes, fourteen years old.

Everyone seemed to think that he wouldn’t make it home. They had a good reason to, before him the youngest tribute that’d ever come home was fifteen, and that was a hard year to win. He was the first person you ever wrote a song about, the boy that has to fight against what the whole world thinks. People still ask you what gave you inspiration to make it, and you give them knowing smiles, saying: “Guess.”

He came home, against all odds, Finnick Odair was the winner of the Sixty-Fifth Hunger Games, the youngest victor to ever win at the ripe age of fourteen years old.

You’d seen his face a few times in the market before while singing, but once he won, he was there constantly. He had no shame about it either, he’d pick a spot right in front of the bench and sit down with his legs crossed, watching you sing, humming along on occasion. 

The two of you very quickly became friends after that. The two of you had something in common regarding status. Finnick’s name is known by the whole country because of the Hunger Games. When before he was the friendliest boy in school. And you could relate because you’re the girl that sings the pretty songs in the market everyday. You have fans of your own. It creates this line in school that few are brave enough to cross.

Suddenly, he wasn’t approachable anymore. And he noticed that when he came around you during class or lunch, that you wouldn’t gravitate elsewhere. You weren’t shy, you passed that stage in your life. You needed friends you could relate to, friends that you could trust. 

Finnick Odair was your best friend.

He would walk you home, asking about your plans that night. He’d stick around while you got your siblings setup at your neighbor’s house. And then he’d follow you to the market, carrying your guitar for you, asking if you’d be able to teach him how to play like you do.

The more you hung out together, the more you realized that you liked him. It took years for the both of you to admit it. You liked being around him, talking to him, the way he made you feel. If you weren’t at the market, you were at his house or he was at yours. The two of you were together.

And then he asked you to be his girlfriend your senior year, and told you that he would be with you for the rest of his life, but the two of you had to take baby steps first.

You can’t imagine life without him.

“I’ve got one more song for you tonight.” You murmur into the microphone, adjusting the microphone stand so that you’ll be able to sit on the stool comfortably without having to lean forward.

It took a whole month to organize this event, getting permission from the Mayor to use the front steps of the Justice Building. You had to pay him to use the lights, the speakers, the microphone, because it’s normally reserved for the reaping. The good news is that everything has a price, you just have to figure out the cost.

It’s been more than just yourself setting this up. You found a few people that had the same idea as you did when it came to singing or performing. You managed to convince them to spend their night on the steps in front of a crowd. The more they get their name out, the better it’ll be. They might not be getting paid to do it, but you all start somewhere.

You spent a lot of time convincing local shops to invest in the event, to sell their food at reasonable prices. If there’s going to be a show, then people are going to want to eat and drink during it. You’re sure they’re not regretting it like they said they would. The last you checked, the lines were long enough to ensure they’d sell out before the event was over.

The sun set about an hour ago. That’s when you had them turn on the big lights on the rooftops to make sure people could still see. Besides that, all you have is the night sky and the stars that are splattered across it. It’s a beautiful night to be out having fun with everyone.

You back up onto the stool, sitting up, placing the guitar on your lap, and then leaning over it. You pull the mic in front of you, “This is the first song I ever wrote, and I always save it for last because it means the most to me. Everyone always asks who it's about, and to me it’s always been obvious.”

You look into the crowd, finding Finnick, “It’s about a certain boy that won the Hunger Games despite the odds that were stacked against him. This one is called, ‘Eyes Open’.”

You play the last note, placing your hand over the strings to stop the noise. The crowd erupts into applause immediately, drawing you out of your thoughts. You look up, grinning.

Finnick has abandoned his place below, crossing the line that was put up a few feet away from the steps. You carefully balance the guitar on the stool, walking up to him. He cups your face, pressing his lips to yours, holding you there. You can’t help the smile that comes over your face.

He wraps his arms around you, picking you up and spinning you in a circle.

You laugh, “I love you, Finnick.”

oh sam clafin is so so pretty in djats. tbh i wasn't the biggest fan of the book & the show is a tad too corny/tropey for me so far, but still an entertaining easy watch with pretty people & fun music. it is very funny seeing them try to pass off sam claflin as like a 21 year old though lmao very how do you do fellow kids. i also have so many Thoughts i will keep to myself about him as an actor and about him repeatedly being miscast as a romantic/slutty/funny lead when he should be a dramatic villain evil character actor, which leads to him way overacting in a show like djats, but overall it's still fun to see him on screen if only for my finnick nostalgia. please do share your thoughts if you end up watching!

an entertaining easy watch with pretty people and fun music sounds good to me! right now i'm looking for things to watch that i won't want to write fic about. my "ooh i wanna write this" list is getting unmanageably long. my next major self writing lesson is going to be mastering the <10k story while still hitting all the emotional beats i'm interested in.

hard agree, sam claflin is definitely a character actor who is often miscast, but while i think he does evil villains really well, i think he's best at morally complex characters with a lot of layers. i know thg is probably his most commercial role but his portrayal of finnick is just startlingly good (and also "the hunger games movies are great, actually" is a hill on which i will perish). he was also phenomenal as hawkins in the nightingale where, to your point, he's absolutely the evil villain, but even though he has no redeeming qualities whatsoever, somehow his performance doesn't completely eject the viewer. (well, it definitely ejected some viewers during the awards circuit. the beginning of that film is one of the most brutal first acts of any movie i've ever seen.) my ideal role for him is one where he plays a villain whose character arc is redemption and self-actualization. but unfortunately that character trope is all but dead in american media.

i do feel bad for character actors who are hot. i remember a few years ago when sam rockwell won an award for three billboards outside ebbing missouri, he said something like [sic] "this is the worst thing that can happen to a character actor." so actors like cillian murphy and ben whishaw were serially miscast early in their careers.

(my go to example of the hypocrisy of acting awards is the florida project. willem dafoe got all this acclaim for his performance as a hotel maintenance guy, when the main characters seriously seemed like they were plucked up from a floridian walmart and filmed for a reality show. i mean, those performances were so seamlessly real that nobody even remembers them. fish tank is another example. i've seen that movie half a dozen times, and it's remembered for michael fassbender as the hot fucky step dad character, but katie jarvis as mia is just such an emotionally agonizing and vulnerable performance which deserved far more praise than it got.)

I do understand this, but I would like to add that the general public aren't the ones watching his movies. No one is out there saying "I can't wait to watch the new Chris Evans' movie." Most of his movies where he is playing the lead haven't done well outside of Marvel. He isn't bringing in crowds for his movies choices, acting talent, or star power, like it has been said before he isn't Leo. So his fandom, the ones actually watching his movies for him, who have supported him through all the past missteps may not go out and watch or stream his movies because of his association with this girl and her friends. So I do think it could affect him. Just look at TGM, compared to other Netflix movies it wasn't even the most watched of all time, and many more people have Netflix and are more likely to watch a movie on Netflix than go out to the movies to watch. Yeah Netflix is on the decline, but many people are still subscribed to it. I mean I have it and I didn't even watch it even though I'm a fan of Ryan Gosling. Chris is a big reason why, his antics and of those around him really turned me off to the point where I don't care to show my support in watching things he's in. I have Apple and Amazon Prime, but I won't be watching his projects on those platforms either. So I think if his fans especially the die hard fans aren't tuning into watch his movie on Netflix, or other services it is going to impact him. And if his projects aren't bringing in the numbers, I don't think studios will be coughing up the hefty pay check or offer him decent roles, so he may end up having start auditioning again. And I agree with what Tarantino said, most people didn't go watch Captain America because of Chris they went for CA, so if Marvel could have found any decent actor who could play CA the results would have been the same. Because the storyline would still have been the same, and let's be honest Marvel was actually writing decent stories during Chris's time with Marvel.

TBH, I don't see him getting many more Lead actor roles, outside of Ghosted most of his current roles have been second lead. I don't think he can carry a film. And, I know a lot of people like his DJ role, but to me that wasn't anything great or different. To me that story of DJ had been told before, I think that same year or a year after Bryan Cranston starred in a movie with a similar story. Chris was supposed to play a dad, but nothing screamed father of a 14 year old to me. His look was the same, his body language seem the same, and, the acting was alright but not award worthy, so when fans went around saying he was snubbed all I could think was like really, he was not. He didn't deserve it over those who were nominated. He never change appearance other than facial hair. In puncture he was supposed to be a drug addict, but nothing in his appearance screamed drug addict other bags under his eyes. I know he said he tried to lose weight and couldn't but I find that hard believe considering how many of his peers were able to transform. His career to me is like those students that just skate by in class with a C or low B and they're happy with that, they could do better if they put in more effort but they don't want to.

Just saw in your reply to someone else that Bradley’s dad also had multimillions (which make sense) so Bradley inherited money too. Does this mean the bronco is somewhere? I know he doesn’t have a car at his apartment but what kind of stuff did he keep from his parents?

And learn from my mistakes on my two trips earlier this year, do not eat right before getting on the Incredicoaster and have a *full* head to toe change of clothes available if you get on Splash Mountain (and would recommend changing into flip flops before getting on because I definitely forgot that even though they were in my backpack 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️) because we were completely soaked and didn’t dry as fast as I would’ve expected

Yes! The Bronco is in San Diego with his “winter home” aka his off-season childhood home. He’s kept a lot of his dads stuff,. He’s got a trophy case in the house, with his and his dad’s gold gloves, his silver slugger awards and his dads world series ring, he’s still got his parents wedding dishes. I also feel like the bronco is his moms.

Something that I’m going to get into this a bit.. but probably not quite as in depth (so SPOILERS)

Maverick took a couple of years after the accident to help a very hurt, depressed bradley. He had at least 4 surgeries to put everything back together in his collarbone and shoulder. So there is a lot of physical trauma, but also he just lost his dad, he’s (I think I said 16 or 17?) and is essentially alone.

So mav and penny took him in and got him physically healthy and Maverick started taking him to a local baseball diamond every day, rain or shine, and he made him run back into shape, made him start hitting. One of the things I kind of have been hinting at is bradley was a left handed pitcher, but after the accident he plays shortstop right handed, he bats both ways, so maverick had to essentially teach bradley a completely new way to play. He taught bradley how to love the game that was so special to him and his dad again. Which is ultimately a lot of where mavericks assholish protector comes from. He rebuilt this kid from the foundation up. A kid that’s extremely important to him, talented, and also gay in a sport that they both know isn’t the most outwardly accepting of gay players (not that there’s been an openly out baseball player at the major league level IRL). But I’m getting COMPLETELY off topic.

The whole point of that is to say that Maverick paid someone to take care of the house and to keep the car in good working order so when bradley turned 18 it was ready for him to take back.

l picture his San Diego home is very quiet and unassuming it’s by the water, but nothing flashy. I feel like he shaves his moustache every offseason and wears different clothes and just kind of disappears. (At least until Jake 😉)

I’ll try to find a house on Zillow that’s what I’m thinking and upload it but while he’s a multimillionaire he pretty much just invests the money TBH

I play fantasy football w my dad’s family and we have an award for winning and one for losing utterly and it’s SO competitive but fun and we all have goofy themes for the teams and names and avatars each year like one guy is always Gwangi the stop motion dinosaurs, and every year I do well until the finals and first week of the finals I am pitted vs my stupid cousin Mitch and he bumps me out week 1, except one year. The year DBH came out and The Good Place was on, I, as a joke, drafted nothing but Jacksonville and Detroit players except my QB bc I did the same guy every year out of nostalgia, and I named my team Detroit Become Jacksonville, and should have been squashed like a tiny bug bc the Jaguars suck and I drafted knowing this, but it was the year the Jaguars were amazing. The year they kicked ass. The year that made the last seasons of TGP include the “The Jaguars are good now!” “Is that bad?” “I don’t know!! It’s WEIRD!” Line. And Detroit also kicked ass all year out of the blue. So I smoked all of them. Everyone, every week. And I beat my cousin round one of playoffs and didn’t even care tbh what happened after that but I took the god vs a different cousin in the finals and it remains a core memory to this day
