Lotus Inn (D.S)
who: Daniel Seavey x reader summary: Coming to this bar was a bad idea, or a good one. You seem to find that everything is going back in time. The universe seems to be in favor with someone, but also fixing what could go wrong with you meeting Daniel. word count: 1.3k a/n: might want to watch the music video if you haven't. I low key was having this idea as I was showing my friend the video.
1:38 ————|——— -3:15
“Y/N, HURRY UP!” Sophie yelled, her voice slicing through the room as I fumbled with my left earring, trying to make sure it was in straight. I glanced at myself in the mirror, adjusting my black dress, pulling it down just a bit to smooth out any creases.
“Okay, okay, I’m coming!” I called back, tossing my hands up in mock surrender before heading toward the door.
We had rented a room at this funky spot called the Lotus Inn. It had the whole 70’s club aesthetic going on — velvet, neon lights, and a vibe that felt like it belonged in an old movie.
The bar downstairs was buzzing with life. The music was loud, the air thick with heat and the scent of perfume. People were scattered in every corner, talking, laughing, and swaying to the rhythm of the night.
I scanned the room and noticed two guys on stage, pointing at a girl in a silver dress. She was dancing, and I’ll admit, her dress was stunning — she was stunning. I turned my gaze around the room, and then my eyes locked on a guy near the jukebox. He was wearing a brown jacket over an orange patterned shirt, and his hair was already a mess. He turned around, unsteady on his feet, but when his eyes met mine, he stood up straighter, trying to act sober. The song he picked started playing, the lyrics about moving on the dance floor just barely cutting through the noise.
A few moments passed, and the guy on stage tripped, stumbling down the stairs. I blinked and then opened my eyes again.
“Y/N, HURRY UP!” Sophie’s voice snapped me out of it. I blinked, finding myself staring into the same mirror again, earring in hand, the left one missing.
“What the hell?” I whispered, confused, as I quickly placed the earring back in and rushed out the door to catch up with Sophie, who was already halfway down the hall.
When we walked into the club again, the scene was the same. The two guys were still on stage, the girl in silver was still dancing, and the guy at the jukebox — he was still there too, looking over at me. Sophie danced her way over to the bar with some people, leaving me to watch as the night seemed to unfold again.
The guy on the stage turned, walking down toward the girl in silver, but just as he was about to approach her, another guy wrapped his arm around her.
The moment froze, rewinding.
The song restarted.
This time, the guy from the stage made it to the girl without interruption. I glanced back over at the jukebox, and there he was, eyes fixed on me now, stumbling but trying to look smooth.
“Hey,” he said, finally making his way over. “I saw you and thought you might want to dance. Want to dance with me?”
I shrugged. “Sure, Y/N,” I said, instinctively reaching out for his hand.
“Daniel,” he grinned, taking my hand and leading me to the dance floor.
We danced for a while, laughing and spinning with the music. After a bit, we made our way to the bar, where I spotted that same girl and the guy from earlier, now chatting at the counter.
“What do you want to drink?” Daniel asked, leaning on the bar with a casual air.
“Cranberry vodka,” I replied, scanning the crowd again. The guy and the girl at the bar were still there, laughing, the world spinning just a little.
Daniel glanced at the bartender and held up two fingers. “Two Gin and Tonics,” the other guy ordered, his voice slurring slightly. The girl across from us turned to the bartender, her voice sharp and clear: “I only drink Tequila.”
The drinks came, and we cheered, clinking glasses before taking a sip. The warmth spread through me, and I saw Daniel slide a $30 bill to the bartender.
Rewind.
The song played again, and I found myself back at the bar. The same sequence unfolded: The other guy ordered Tequila this time, the girl in silver taking hers. The bartender handed us our drinks, and I caught the guy cheering for the new year. The girl looked uncomfortable from that.
Rewind.
“To friday?” He tried again in the same scenario. “I only cheer for world peace,” she said, her voice light but intense. “Wait, What's happ-” I tried to talk to Daniel but everything shifted again.
Rewind.
Back at the bar, same song, same situation. The drinks were in our hands, and this time, when we cheered, I felt it — the warmth creeping through me, the buzz taking over again. We danced again, careful not to spill our drinks, laughing with each other, each round of shots only pushing us further into the haze.
Soon enough, we joined Daniel's friend, Jack, Corbyn and Zach. the four of us were taking shots in quick succession, the night blurring around us. Corbyn, one of their other friends, stumbled into the guy from earlier, spilling his drink all over him. The girl stood there, awkwardly trying to hide her smile. Daniel and I burst out laughing, and I let my head fall onto his shoulder.
Rewind.
Back to the bar.
The scene unfolded differently now. Corbyn stumbled into the guy, but this time he caught him, making sure he didn’t fall. The guy was standing straight now, smiling, his eyes flickering to the girl before he moved back toward us.
The room spun, the lights flashing in wild colors, our bodies swaying and moving to the beat. It wasn’t just the alcohol anymore; something else was in the air — something strange and intoxicating. I danced with Daniel, lost in the rhythm, barely able to keep my eyes open as Jack, across the room, wiggled his fingers in front of his face. I laughed, copying him, the world feeling like it was bending around me.
We found a spot to sit, my head resting on Daniel’s shoulder. The club was still alive, but everything felt distant. Daniel’s friends slumped over tables, nearly out of it. The guy from earlier and his girl were still laughing together at the bar.
I watched Daniel get up and head to the jukebox, flipping through the options with a thoughtful expression. I followed, resting my hand on his shoulder as I peered at the glass case. He tapped it lightly, and the ripples inside grew larger as the music swirled around us, hypnotic.
The green light inside the jukebox grew brighter the longer I stared, and I turned around, noticing his friends sprawled out on tables, their bodies tangled. I looked back at him, his gaze fixed on the spinning disc, his movements slow, deliberate.
Rewind.
“Y/N, HURRY UP!” Sophie yelled again, pulling me from the trance. I blinked, feeling dizzy. I turned around, looking at her through the mirror as she struggled with her earring.
“What?” she asked, her brow furrowed as though I was crazy.
I ran down the hall, still trying to get the earring in, my steps quick and heavy as I rushed to catch up with her. I paused in the doorway to the club, taking it all in again. The same feeling. The same people. Daniel, at the jukebox. I smiled, walking up to him.
He looked at me, squinting as though focusing through the haze. I saw him pick a song.
I saw you movin’ on the dance floor, I caught you lookin’ over at me and my friends, Got my attention, now I want more, I think we both know how this night’s gonna end…
“Great choice,” I said with a grin, leaning in as our eyes locked. He squeezed his eyes shut for a moment, trying to focus through the alcohol.
“Want to dance with me?” he asked, his voice low, playful.

the lotus inn (d.s)
pairing: daniel seavey x gn!reader summary: sneaking out with your best friend on the sunday night two days before your exam might have actually been the break you needed, but you would've never realised how special that night would've ended up becoming. inspired by: 'hotel' by claire rosinkranz and 'lotus inn' by why don't we. word count: 1.7k trigger warnings: trespassing on private property, sneaking out, exam stress, reckless behaviour in general. some swearing too i think a/n: i stumbled upon the beginnings of this while cleaning out my drafts and i really wanted to finish it so.... also i haven't written something in ages so pleasee go easy on me! (i also apologise for how short this is)
This was not how you wanted to spend your weekend. The dim, barely plausible light emitting from your lamp desk was the only source of illumination throughout the whole house and was barely enough to unjumble the mess of words printed on your textbook pages. Running another hand through your hair, you let out a frustrated groan. Nothing was sticking in your mind and the constant ping and glow of your phone screen wasn't benefiting you in the slightest.
With a heavy sigh, you finally gave in, reaching for your phone to check the onslaught of incoming messages that had been distracting you all night. You found yourself staring at more than enough texts from all your friends, each one questioning your whereabouts.
You swiped right on the top notification on your phone, opening a thread of messages from your best friend, Daniel. All while choosing to ignore the little flutter your heart gave you.
11:02 pm Hey, are we still meeting at my place or do you want me to drive you? Are you still coming? ??? Hello?
“Shit,” you mumble to yourself. It was a Sunday night and you had promised him and a few other friends the week before that you'd go out with them again, only problem was that you weren't exactly allowed to. With the massive exam that was coming up in just two days, your parents had forced you to take time away from your reckless activities and focus on getting a passing grade. Which of course, you knew was the right thing to do and so far you had been sticking to the newly enforced rule pretty well; but now, at almost 10 minutes to midnight with your sanity tipping over the edge, you were almost craving to feel any ounce of fun or adrenaline that you had been so deprived of. So, without letting yourself think twice about it, you typed in a quick “meet me at my place” before hitting send and pressing your phone to the wooden desk softly to avoid making any loud noise.
Gnawing lightly on your lip, you stared at the black screen expectantly and when it lit up with it’s bright white glow you snatched it up without haste and swiped open the message, “be there in 10 :))”
Your belly did somersaults, both from the rush of adrenaline you got from sneaking out and from meeting up with Daniel.
As you carefully moved around your bedroom, pulling on a jacket and a pair of shoes, your mind couldn’t help but wander back to the thought of him. Although you’d never admit it to anyone that asked, you found yourself falling for the blonde. The way he smiled, the way he talked, the way he laughed, everything had you falling - helplessly, hopelessly.
Stuffing your phone in your denim pocket, you slid your bedroom window up, the cold gust of night air engulfing you, as if welcoming you back to this familiar practice. You swung your feet out the window, your old converse hitting the roof of the bottom floor of your house. The slanting roof made for a difficult surface to steady yourself on, but you had done this enough times before that you quickly regained your sloppy balance. You lowered your body closer to the cold roof tiles, before sliding down it, carefully maneuvering yourself until your feet landed in the garden beds.
Letting out a sigh of relief you walk towards the footpath, the smile consuming yourself at the successful escape only grew at the sight of Daniel’s car slowing as it neared the corner of your street. The two of you had planned enough of the Sunday night sneak-outs that he knew well enough that driving right to the front of your house was a bad idea.
Your walk turned into a jog that broke into a run as you approached his car, butterflies swarming your chest as you opened the passenger door and relaxed into the familiar seats.
“Shit, that looked like you were escaping from a prison,” Daniel joked, an amused smile playing on his lips and you had to remind yourself not to stare.
“Sure felt like it,” you answer, letting out a pleased exhale, both excited and relieved to finally get away from all the stress and worries that have been clouding your mind.
“Ready to get outta here?”
“Never could be more.”
As you watch your little house on the end of the cul-de-sac disappear from view you feel a sense of almost relief.
Guess old habits die hard.
---
The car ride is a far from silent drive, the two of you playing your favourite songs as loud as possible, windows rolled down as you drove down the highway. The moon glistening over the crashing waves made for ethereal scenery to this forever memory.
His fingers drum to the beat of the music on the steering wheel, you nodding your head as your eyes trace the outlines of the waves. Swiveling your neck so you're facing him you ask, “you still haven't told me where we’re going.”
Daniel smirks, eyes still on the road as he exits off the highway. “It’s a secret.”
You exhale loudly in dismay, “come on Dani, please.”
“We’re almost there, goof,” he chuckles as he turns the car down another street, “just be patient.”
You grin at the nickname - the one he only has for you - trying your best to hide it as you roll your eyes at him.
It takes less than 20 minutes before Daniel slows the car to a stop. You look out the window, surveying your dodgy surroundings. There’s not much besides an iron gate and some European-style stone walls. The rest of the vicinity was tree and bush besides the road in front of you that carried on for a little ways more.
Daniel lets himself out of the car, before walking around to your side and opening your door for you.
“Daniel, are you kidnapping me,” you joke as you step out of the vehicle, analysing the iron gate closer, the red sign on it reads ‘Staff Access Only’ in bright white letters.
He laughs again, and your heart does a stupid little jump at the sound. “No, actually,” He says, passing you a torch, “now be quiet and follow me.”
Flicking your torch on, you follow the blonde as he jumps the fence, before navigating what seems to be the backyard of a small hotel house. The house itself reminds you of a beach house, and the backyard has a small pool and garden area.
Finding random old hotels to sneak into actually wasn’t out of the ordinary for your small group of friends, it might’ve been a reckless and dangerous activity but it’s not like you have ever been caught. Anyways, what’s life without a little adrenaline?
As you approach the hotel-beach-house you can hear the muted laughter of your friends and the faint sound of music. The light pouring out of the tall glass windows shines and shimmers over the pool's surface. Daniel takes your hand softly in his, your fingers weaving together before he pulls you into the house behind him. The two of you navigate the small crowd of your friends together, saying the occasional hi and hello to familiar faces.
The both of you find yourself in the middle of the room, Daniel swaying you playfully to the music as he takes both your hands, and before you’re aware of it, half the night has escaped you. The both of you are dancing and singing to whatever songs your friends are playing over their small bluetooth speakers for what feels like hours. Your feet ache and you're drunk on the night air. You’re laughing and smiling like an idiot, all caught up in the feeling of him, his presence, the way he makes it feel like only the both of you exist in this moment.
You can’t help but get lost in the little details of him. His blonde hair all messy from the dancing, the way the lights shine off the surface of his face, his stupidly cute smile as he sang along to the lyrics of the song, and you loved the way he looked like that. It’s a smile that reminds you how much you feel for him, how deep your love runs.
And you hate that he doesn’t know, and you hate that he won’t know because you’re too scared of the outcome not being what you expect. For him to say no or step out of your life completely.
But then he grabs your hand, pulling you in and twirling you around, he’s saying stuff, his mouth running excitedly but none of it processes in your mind. You’re too caught up with the drumming of your heart, the feeling clouding all your senses, ears too loud, mind too foggy. But then he looks at you with that smile, the one that lights up the room and puts sparkles in his eyes, it’s so wide that he’s squinting and he’s looking at you.
Not anyone else, it’s you that brings out that smile.
You feel light at the realisation, like you're floating on a cloud. You’re not sure if it’s the fact that tonight feels so dreamy and magical, but you don’t want to waste the moment. You don’t want to hate yourself for the rest of your life because you didn’t take the chance to kiss Daniel Seavey.
So you wish your secrets farewell.
You reach up, wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling him down to your level before pressing your lips to his. The millisecond of fear and regret is immediately overcome by warmth when he grabs your waist, easing into the kiss as he pulls you impossibly closer.
It feels electric, which you find cliche and stupid but it does. Like every fibre of your being is on fire, like fireworks are exploding over your skin. You hope to God that he feels this way too.
When he pulls away, he’s smiling, grinning so wide it’s contagious. He’s easily the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen.
“I’ve wanted to do that since forever,” he confesses. His hand is still on your waist.
You’re absolutely lost for words. Still running high on the ecstasy from the kiss and now his confession makes your knees buckle and mind fog over.
But he doesn’t seem to mind. He reels you in, kissing you again, it’s soft and sweet and you're drunk on the taste of him. You feel his smile against your lips, in turn making you do the same. You don't ever want this night to end. It feels good, it feels right. It feels like home.

Part 2 of: In My Arms - Zach Herron
Zach Herron x fem!reader (she/her pronouns) last part of part 1
Summary: Your husband is back after being gone for a while. (angst to fluff)
AN: I couldnt keep it angsty the whole time lol. I'm a sucker for a happy ending. Go read the first part if you want. Angsty at the beginning but turns fluff. Come talk to me once you're done.
————————————————————
(This takes place after Zach gets back from the writing session and the kids are asleep)
Y/N’s POV
There’s an amazing amount of tension in a room that just has two people in it. It’s just me and Zach in the kitchen. The kids have been put to bed hours ago.
I’m sitting on top of the kitchen island, while Zach stands at the entrance of the kitchen. Not knowing what to do, I picked up the glass I was drinking water out of. While I walk over to the dishwasher, I can feel his eyes on me. I just continued with what I was doing. Focusing on my hands and tuning him out. Trying anything to forget that Zach is right there.
Zach got back from the writing session just a couple of hours ago. He spent the time with the kids while I stayed off to the side. I didn’t want to start anything in front of them. They don’t need to experience that. Now that they’re asleep, I don’t have to pretend that everything’s alright.
“Hello? Are you even going to talk to me?” my husband’s voice resounds all around the kitchen as he walks closer to me.
Quickly walking out of the kitchen, I hear Zach slam his hand on the countertop before following after me into the living room.
“Babe, what is going on with you?” he asks. Just by the way he said that, I can tell that he’s becoming increasingly worried.
Sitting down on the couch (that I spent most of the nights crying and sleeping on. I couldn’t sleep on our bed because it brought back so many memories. But, he doesn’t need to know that) I fold my arms and look at anything but him. That is enough for him to know that something is seriously wrong.
“Oh, the silent treatment. Really?” he scoffed while shaking his head.
“Real fucking mature Y/N.” he said sarcastically.
That’s what caught my attention. Quickly standing up and making eye contact with him I can’t help but say,
“Says you, the one who was out partying at a club and chea-“ I cut myself off before I finish the sentence. If I say it out loud, I’m afraid that it might come true. That would be horrible for me and the kids. I know what it’s like to grow up with divorced parents. It's literal shit. I do not want my kids to experience that.
“No, go ahead and say it Y/N. Say it to my face” he responds with malice in his voice.
When I open my mouth to speak, the words get stuck in the back of my throat.
“If you’re going to accuse me of cheating on you at least have the decency to say it to my face” he yells angrily, taking a step towards me.
Shaking my head no, I look down so he won’t be able to see the tears forming in my eyes.
“No what Y/N? You need to talk to me,” the way the tone of his voice changed surprised me. I was expecting him to still yell at me and have that angry look in his eyes. However, when I looked up I saw the worried and caring eyes I fell in love with all those years ago.
Zach walked closer and pulled me into his arms.
“I’m sorry for yelling at you babe. I’m just tired and haven’t been feeling the best without my amazing family by my side. I know that’s not an excuse, but I really need you to talk to me. What’s going on?”
Sniffling I look up at him and I can’t help but to let it all out,
“That night when I called you there was a woman in the background. She asked if you were ready. You hung up right away and said that you didn’t want me to hear her and that was what started it all. I tried telling myself that I was being irrational but then…”
“Y/N, honey…” Zach says
“No, let me finish, please,” he nods, “then I remembered that you didn’t call or answer our calls for five days before that. That put a big toll on me and on our kids. It just hurt so much,” I take a deep breath before continuing. “Then to top it all off, you call me from a club and criticize my parenting,” my voice becomes bitter “when you know how hard I try especially when you’re not here.
“You want to know what really made it worse, I hear that woman’s voice again. I don’t get to see my husband for who knows how long and then, having to hear this woman’s voice every time I call. You weren’t here and I didn’t have anyone's support. That’s why I’ve been…” I get cut off by my own sob.
“…why you have been sleeping on the couch and crying most nights,” Zach finishes for me.
Shock passes my face. I stumble out, “how did you know?”
He can’t help the smile appear on his face, “your incredible kids did. Riley and Sophia told me they saw you crying on the couch one day. And that you never went up to bed and they always heard crying noises,” the smile disappears, “Okay I’m going to explain now but it might be long so be ready,” he finishes.
“You don’t hav-” I start but get cut off.
“Oh no missy don’t even start. I know you want an explanation and you deserve to hear from me.”
He takes a deep breath before continuing.
“I know that you think I was cheating but it was nothing like that. The woman you heard was a realtor. I was looking for a house to buy since I know you wanted a place to travel to during the summer and winter time and that you love that part of the country. I was so busy that when I was done it was already so late that I didn’t want to call. That’s why I didn’t call for those five days. Then when you called, we were just getting ready to go look at a house that I had a good feeling about. She asked if I was ready to leave and I responded how I did because I didn’t want you to hear her because I was afraid she was going to spoil the surprise. I hung up quickly just in case. I’m sorry for that. About what I said in the club, I was drunk and I was just taking my insecurities out on you. I know you’re an amazing mom and those kids wouldn’t be who they are without you. There’s a reason why I put four children in you,” he gives me a cheeky smile.
“I just so happened to run into her at the club with her girlfriend. She said that I had to figure out what I wanted before I left in regards to the houses we saw. I know it must have sounded wrong but it meant nothing. I’m sorry if you felt like I was lying and I’m sorry if it felt like I broke my promises. I know what you were probably thinking at night all alone Y/N. So I’m telling you this right now and I mean it truthfully, you will always be safe in my arms Y/N. Nothing, not even a fucking house can tear us apart.”
I smiled at him, thankful for his explanation. I knew I made the right decision in saying yes when he proposed. All of my worries seemed to disappear. We were going through a hard time in our relationship, but the important things stayed the same. He is an amazing husband and father just as I am an amazing wife and mother. Relationships are never easy but when they get hard, it’s up to the two people in love to make up for it and I think Zach and I did an amazing job. “I understand Zach, I'm so sorry for how I reacted.”
“It’s alright babe. Come on let’s go cuddle upstairs in our bed together, before the kiddos wake up.
And that’s exactly what we did. In each other's arms.
(And yes Zach got me the most amazing vacation house ever. I can’t wait to check it out.)
———————————————
AN: Ahhhh okay here it is. I hope you enjoyed it. Let me know what you think down below. Love you all and have a great rest of your day!

a/n - This is my first fic, and I’m super nervous to post it. I got some encouragement from @hopinglimelight so thanks for giving me that extra little push. Hope you guys like it! My ask box is open and I’ll have a taglist eventually if anyone ends up liking my writing enough! Thanks y’all!
warnings - sad, arguing, some swearing
summary - Sometimes being with him felt like flying, and other times it felt like falling. More often then not, you knew he wasn’t going to catch you

Yeah, do we really gotta do this now?
Right here with all your friends around?
“Y/N”, Daniel called from where he was hanging out with his friends on the other side of the room. He stood as you walked over, his arm finding your waist and pulling you to his side.
“ What’s up?” you questioned as you snuggled closer. You recognized some of the people at the party, mainly Christian, the rest of the band, and some other friends of Daniels. You recognized the group he was with but had never met them.
“ Meet Crawford, Nezza, JC, Kian, and Franny” he announced grandly, waving his arm as if to present them to you. You reached out, shaking hands and mumbling nice to meet you’s.
“I’m Y/N” you said, mimicking Daniels grand wave.
“Are you mocking me” he gasped offended, gently poking you in the side
“Maybe” you giggled, wrapping your arms around his waist.
You guys made small talk for a while, learning about each person and what they do. It was interesting learning about what life was like as a youtuber, and it felt like maybe you had made some new friends.
Eventually you noticed Daniel paying less and less attention to the group and more and more attention to his phone.
You tugged his arm trying to get his attention, and he glanced up at you
“What’s up”
“ It’s getting late, and I have school, plus you work tomorrow, think we can get going?” you said quietly, trying to not draw attention to yourselves.
“ We’ve barely been here 3 hours, it’s not even 1 in the morning yet” Daniel protested, eyes hardening as you looked at him.
“I was just wondering because I have to be up at 5:30 in the morning, and I know you’re going to be in the studio for a while tomorrow” you replied voice sharpening as you defended yourself.
“Anyways, Jack, Zach, Corbyn, and Jonah have already left”, you crossed your arms and looked around, making sure your words rang true.
“I don’t control their actions and I don’t need to do what they do” his normally clear blue eyes darkened, “ We’re a band not the same person” anger clear in his voice as he looked at you, lips curving into a frown.
In the dark lighting the angles of his face seemed to sharpen, hardening as your gaze locked on his. The groups eyes turned to you as they starting noticing the tension between you two. Nezza and Franny exited going to get drinks, while JC and Kian backed away keeping an eye on the situation. Crawford was the only one who stayed, pretending to be occupied with random social media apps on his phone.
“ I never said you were” you glared at him, he knew how much you hated it when he put words in your mouth.
“ Whatever” he replied, rolling his eyes. “ It’s not my fault you can’t handle being out for more then two hours” he went on, voice getting progressively louder.
“ You know full well what I can handle, and obviously right now it’s not you” you tried to keep your voice quiet, while still filling it with venom, trying to get your point across.
“ I really don’t want to have an argument, a petty one nonetheless, in front of your friends” you were becoming annoyed, hoping that even after a few drinks Daniel would still have some sense of decorum.
Another whatever left his mouth as you walked away. Before you got to Franny and Nezza you stopped, turning around to face him.
“ I’m calling an Uber and going home. You can sleep on the couch tonight unless you get your head out of your ass and realize the world doesn’t revolve around you.” You finished, going to tell Nezza and Franny were you were going.
They walked you out to the curb, muttering reassurances and bidding you a good night.
As soon as you got home you showered, and put on your comfiest pajamas. You fell asleep soon after, hoping you guys would be able to talk it out in the morning.

learning to raise a baby ~ daniel seavey
requested: yes:)
Can you please do an cute imagine about y/n and Daniel having a baby together and taking care of the baby and figuring the parenting stuff out together. Ur amazing
summary: follow a few different events in the life of daniel and y/n learning to raise a baby.
warning(s): baby, literally too lazy to edit this i’ll come back later lmao
word count: 2608
author’s note: i have such baby fever omg
disclaimer: i def need to clarify that i am 18 years old and do not have a baby and i have no close friends with babies (in person, at least) therefore this is purely fiction. i watch a LOT (i mean A LOT) of family vloggers and like teen mom accounts raising their kids, so basically all of my knowledge comes from that. i hope no one takes offence to my depiction of it, but my intention is purely just to write this cute fic idea, and i don’t want to pretend like i know anything about parenting or raising a child or anything like that!! okay that’s all!!
I could barely see my feet as I painfully took in another breath of air and started walking forward. Awoken at 3am with terrible back pain and a pool of amniotic fluid at my waist, Daniel and I now rushed to grab our hospital bag and make our way to the labor and delivery section of our nearest hospital.
everything went so fast. before i was actively having a child, it felt like my pregnancy would never end, but now that it’s actually happening and i’m having a child, it felt like pregnancy flew by.
just a few days ago, i was sitting on the countertop in my bathroom, impatiently waiting to see if i was pregnant or not in hopes that daniel wouldn’t get home from the studio early and find me. i had just given daniel the surprise of his lifetime when i woke him up at four am to tell him i was pregnant because i just couldn’t keep it from him anymore to do a fun reveal. i remember how we both cried, too excited to even go back to sleep.
just a few days ago, daniel and i were sitting in my obstetrician’s office as we got to hear our eight week old fetus’ heartbeat for the first time. we both cried. it feels like just a day or two ago we cut into a pink colored cake and found out that our precious baby girl would be coming. all of the breakdowns about what stroller to buy and which crib matches the nursey best felt like just moments ago. and now, all of a sudden, i’m ten hours into labor and i’m ready to push.
pushing was painful, but the thought of holding a sweet babygirl soon just kept me going. daniel squeezed my hand tight, standing by the end of the bed watching our beautiful daughter make her way into the world.
i gave the final push and soon i heard a cry that made everything in the whole world worth it. they say you never truly understand love until you’ve had a child, and as soon as i held our daughter, i felt an overwhelming sense of truth in that statement. i never knew such a distinct moment could be the greatest day of my life, but as soon as i laid my eyes on her, i knew that i would never get a day greater than this one.
our daughter laid on my chest for a while as daniel sat by my head, holding both my hand and hers. eventually, the nurses cleaned her off a bit and wrapped her tightly in a swaddle for daniel to finally hold his daughter. i watched the tears fall from his bluer than ever eyes that never left her little face. by the way she settled in his arms and fell asleep, i knew i was going to have a daddy’s little girl on our hands.
it felt like forever, just watching daniel and our baby getting to know each other. soon enough, though, the doctors finished with the stitches and i heard a knock at the door.
within seconds, both of our parents came into the room, bearing wide smiles. daniel sat in the seat next to me, both of us staring at the beautiful baby in front of us.
“does she have a name?” keri asks, slowly walking up to the two of us, careful not to be too loud.
daniel and i look at each other, and then i give him the nod to tell everyone. “callista avery mae seavey.”
“our little baby callie.” i smile at the name. daniel and i both loved the name callie, but wanted it to be a nickname. avery was after his bandmate who really helped us through this whole preparing to be parents thing. mae was a pretty nickname from my side of the family that was good to separate avery and seavey. our little callie mae.
***
it was three am and both of us were awake to callie’s loud screaming. turns out that daniel and i had a very colicky daughter who, when awake, wanted to scream at the top of her lungs. daniel was in the nursery trying to grab more diapers and wipes that, out of exhaustion, we forgot to restock last night when we ran out. i held callie in our arms, rocking her gently and trying to get her to go back to sleep.
“does she have a dirty diaper?” daniel asks, placing the diapers in the corner of our messy bedroom. a few days into callie’s life, we realized we should’ve left the changing table in our bedroom until she was ready to sleep in the nursey, but both of us were too tired to even think about moving the furniture around. so for now the corner of the room was storage and a changing pad on the bench was our late night changing table.
“i don’t think so.” i answer, giving him an exhausted look. “her diaper isn’t heavy and i tried to feed her, but she doesn’t seem to be hungry. i think she just woke up and is being colicky again.”
“how long did the doctor say the colic will last?” daniel asks.
“she didn’t.” i sigh, going to take a seat on our bed as i continued to calm callie. daniel sat beside me. “go back to sleep, i got her.”
“no, i know you’ve been awake all night. try to go to sleep, i’ve got her.” daniel says, and then takes callie from me. “did you take melatonin tonight?”
“yeah.” i say. “i know your body goes through a lot of changes postpartum, but i’m really not liking the insomnia.”
“okay, well, you lay down, and i’m gonna sing to you both, okay?” daniel says and then starts to rock callie to sleep as i laid beside them. and then he started to sing softly.
***
callie was born a little over three months ago and daniel and i haven’t had a date night since then. when we fearfully realized that last week, jack and anna were both quick to offer some help. we hadn’t felt comfortable leaving callie yet, especially since she wasn’t always the easiest. we had lots of help and people offering, but neither daniel nor i were good at asking for help. that’s definitely something we’re both still working on, especially now that we have a baby.
finally though, jack and anna convinced us. originally, we were going to leave them with daniel’s parents, but anna and jack were pretty convincing. jack had lots of experience since he himself is a dad, and anna was very close with gabbie when she had lavender. jack also decided to invite zach for some more company, which was cute.
daniel and i had a hard time saying goodbye to callie, even though we really were only going to be out for two hours at most. we knew neither of us could stay away for that long.
the restaurant wasn’t too far from the house, which was nice because it cut down on our time away from callie. i think both of us were a little nervous to leave her. we both know that she’s three months old and other people are more than capable of watching her for a few hours, but it’s still hard to not be worried about all of the things we could be missing out on.
“oh my gosh, anna just sent a picture of callie.” daniel says in the middle of our dinner, holding up his phone to show up me the picture of our daughter in the adorable pajamas her aunt bought.
“i miss her.” i admit, knowing he was feeling similarly. “do you think they had a hard time getting her to sleep? i hope she’ll be good for them tonight.”
“i’m sure she was fine.” daniel says, then later . “you know, maybe we should skip dessert. relieve them a little early.”
“she’s growing up so fast.” i tell him. “i’m not ready for her to keep growing.”
“we’re gonna blink and she’s gonna be cursing us out because we wouldn’t let her go out with her friends.” daniel continues. “not that we would do that, because honestly, i’ve always thought we’d be a little cooler than that.”
i laugh at his comment. “oh, we’ll definitely be cooler than that. we’re not gonna be the lame strict parents that doesn’t let their kids go out with their friends.”
“oh definitely.” daniel agrees. “except i will be strict about doors open if someone is over. i don’t care who she’s in her room with, but that door better be open. i am taking no chances.”
“i feel like that’s fair.” i add. “i know we’re parents, but wow, until i think about that future, i kind of forget.”
“i’m very glad that’s a long ways away.” he comments. “i’m barely ready for her to be three months old, we do not need to get ahead of ourselves. take this parenting thing one step at a time.”
“i could not agree more.” i smile, leaning over the table to kiss daniel’s lips gently.
***
i walked out of my one year old’s nursery with her in my arms. we watched as daniel and anna hung balloons up around our california apartment. it’s just about an hour before callie’s first birthday party, and now more than ever, i could not be more grateful for daniel’s family’s offer to help us set up.
rather than fighting with figuring out food for the party, we decided to get it catered. christian and tyler offered to go pick up the food at the restaurant for us, which was extremely helpful. his parents were setting up some decorations around the front of the apartment.
i had just put callie in her adorable dress that i specifically picked out for this party. we weren’t the type to throw parties, so we weren’t 100% sure what to do or what to expect, but we decided to just stick to family and close friends. callie was too young for us to strictly invite her friends over. at this stage in her life, her friends were whoever was at mommy&me that week.
the party was going to be small. daniel’s family, my family, daniel’s bandmates and close friends, and then my close friends.
thankfully, we finished decorating and setting up with about thirty minutes left to spare before the party. rather than worry, i decided to just sit on the couch with anna and daniel. keri took callie from me, wanting to spend some time with her granddaughter, and giving daniel and i a brief break before the party started.
“i cannot believe she’s a year old.” anna exclaims to me. “you guys have been parents for a year. that’s crazy to think about.”
“it’s definitely a little bit weird.” i giggle in response.
“you guys make it look so easy, being young parents.” anna says. “i know i’m younger than you guys, but still, i cannot imagine having a kid anytime soon.”
“i didn’t think i would either.” i tell anna. “for me, i wasn’t really ready until i met dani. i realized that i was ready because i wanted to do this with him. it’s different for everyone, i’m sure, but at least personally, that’s how i knew we could be parents.”
daniel wraps his arm around me on the couch, kissing my cheek softly. “yeah, it’s the same for me. when you find someone you want to do everything with, it gets easier to imagine yourself parenting together.”
“that is really cute.” anna says. “this is what i mean, when i say you make it look easy!!”
“it’s definitely not easy.” i laugh. “but it’s a little bit easier when you work as a team. we talk things through and decide together, instead of just making decisions separately. it’s a lot easier to feel like you’re making the right decision when you talk things through.”
“and that is all the parenting advice you get, because while i am most definitely ready to be a dad, i am not ready to be an uncle.” daniel says, getting protective over his younger sister.
“being an uncle is way easier than being a dad.” anna laughs. “but trust me, i’m not having kids any time soon. at least not intentionally.”
“well, i have to be the cool uncle. someone’s gotta bail the kid out of jail and hide it from you.” daniel jokes.
“first of all, why would my kid go to jail??” anna asks. “and second of all, you might’ve been first in the race for cool uncle before callie arrived, but since becoming a dad, you’ve fallen behind. the cool uncle can’t have kids, that’s not how that works.”
“well i’ll break that standard, because i’ll be the cool uncle.”
“i just want to be the aunt that gives good advice at one o’clock in the morning.” i tell them. “someone’s gotta do it. i expect that for callie, anna, so i will do that for your kids.”
“oh, of course. nothing but the best for callie. and future kids.” anna agrees. “speaking of, future kids? any thoughts on that? mom wants me to scope that out.”
“eventually.” i smile. “sooner rather than later.”
***
daniel took callie on a walk. he’s been really adamant about spending at least thirty minutes a day on a walk with her. now that she’s getting a lot more balance and ability to take a lot more steps, he loves taking her to the playground a few blocks from our apartment. usually, i like to go with them, but today i made up an excuse about things i had to get done at home.
i felt especially grateful for that routine of his today, because i needed a few minutes to myself. i’ve been feeling particularly nauseated recently, and as soon as i woke up the other day, i could feel that i was pregnant again. in the past, i had always thought that when i was paranoid about being late, but now that i’ve actually experienced pregnancy, i can feel that there’s a little fetus inside of me.
daniel and i haven’t exactly been trying, but we haven’t been taking as many precautions as we were when callie was first born. now that she’s over a year old, we feel better about having another baby. we weren’t too rushed, because we lot spending time with just our little girl, but we didn’t want to wait too long and have her grow up without a sibling. having a sibling was always a priority of daniel and i’s. seeing as we both grew up with siblings, we know how important it is to have a sibling.
my stomach fluttered with butterflies as i followed the instructions on the pregnancy test. after realizing i was pregnant with callie, i had bought a ton of tests that i didn’t end up using because it was so obvious that i was indeed pregnant. that was extremely helpful for right now when i don’t have time to go sit in traffic for thirty minutes just to go to the pharmacy.
i sat on top of the counter, leaving the pregnancy test face down while i tried to scroll through tiktok and distract myself. it was probably the slowest five minutes of my life, other than finding out about callie.
the timer went off on my phone. i take a deep breath and carefully lift the pregnancy test off the marble bathroom counter.
pregnant.

we’re still okay // d.j.s
Inspired by the song ‘Track 9’ by Alexander 23
Summary: Daniel loves making music. The lyrics, melodies and harmonies are all like a language to him. When he was with you, all he wrote about was you. Now that you’re gone , the language that was once native to him has suddenly become foreign.
W/C: 2.077 K (Approximately)
Warning : Angst, implications of death of a loved one
A/N: Hi hello, please listen to ‘Oh No, Not Again!’ the EP by Alexander 23 because it’s a masterpiece, please and thank you.

Hey
It's been a while since we've talked
Daniel sighed quietly, staring at the wall across him in his room. The dark room, illuminated by a soft glow of the sunlight peeking through the blinds. He cuddled her pillow close to him, the remains of her scent, barely there. Recently he had been spending a lot of time in his room, in the dark. His sight had begun to adjust and he immediately picked on the form of the picture frame on his desk, an image of him and his lover looking back at him.
He sighed shakily. He turned away from the picture he loved and hated with a burning passion, as the sound of the door opening caught his attention. He turned to see his visitor. His brother, Christian shuffled into the room.
“Hey buddy,” he smiled softly. Daniel turned back around, facing the wall again. His lips trembled and he shut his eyes tightly, holding in his tears.
“I made breakfast, if you want to come out and eat.”
Silence.
Christian cleared his throat, “You haven’t eaten, Daniel. I know you're hurting but-Please, just eat something. Do it for me, at least.”
When he got no response, Christian sighed. He picked up the dinner plate on Daniel’s bedside table, the food untouched and cold. When the door finally shut, Daniel sighed in relief, a quiet cry leaving his lips. He pressed his face into the pillow, the cloth, absorbing the stream of salty water as it fell.
His fist gripped the pillow as he tried to quieten down, muffling his soft whimpers. He gasped for a breath in between his cries, his hands furiously brushing away his tears. Daniel cursed under his breath, pulling himself out of bed and shuffling to his bathroom where he splashed his face with cold water. He stared at his reflection, pain and sorrow etched in the bags under his eyes and red cheeks.
I see you made it all the way to "Track 9"
So thanks
For listening to all my thoughts
I used to give 'em to you straight
But now you wait for the release date
Recently, Daniel spent a lot of time in his room, so when he stepped out of his room that afternoon, the surprised looks from his brothers didn’t go unnoticed. He ignored their failed attempts at subtle stares and headed for the kitchen. He rummaged through the fridge, searching for something to eat.
His appetite sparked at the sight of an apple and he picked it up, snatching a bite of it as he closed the door and walked back to his room.
“You wanna watch with us?”
He stopped and turned to his brothers who sat and watched The Office on the TV. He gulped, looking at the screen and back at his brothers. The Office was her favourite show. He swallowed the bite of the apple he had taken, the piece hurting to swallow with the growing lump in his throat.
Daniel stormed back to his room as tears pricked his eyes and he slammed the door shut, resting his head against the cold wood. He took a deep breath in and exhaled. You should have just stayed in your room.
He didn’t come out for dinner that night, just like the previous few nights. Just like the last few nights, Christian or Tyler always passed by his room to give him his dinner. His head perked up from his bed as the door shut behind him and he craned his neck to see what was on his plate that night. Mac and cheese and nuggets, his favourite.
“Why is that the only thing you eat?”
Daniel looked up from his plate with a smirk on his face, “What do you mean?”
Y/n grinned, “Baby, you practically live off mac and cheese and chicken strips!”
Daniel giggled, “Nuggets, babe, gotta get it right if you’re going to call me out.”
Daniel sighed, closing his eyes and resting his head back onto his pillow. His hand reached out for the pillow next to him, tugging it closer. He rested his head against it, cuddling it close to him. He inhaled, smelling her fading scent. He almost finished using the perfume in her perfume bottle. The shop didn’t have any more in stock.
And you're probably wondering where are all the songs about us?
I hear 'em in my head, but I can't write 'em down 'cause
Once the pen's to paper, then it's really, really over
And I'd much rather pretend that maybe we'rе still okay
Daniel tiptoed across the hallway and into the living room. He walked past a sleeping Kobe with a soft smile and opened the backdoor, shuffling to the studio. His nose tingled at the stuffy air as he turned on the lights in the room. His finger swiped across his table where his music equipment was laid out, picking up a layer of dust.
He pulled out his chair and sat on it with a sigh. Daniel reached behind his computer, pulling out a journal, his song book. His hands delicately flipped through the pages, stopping at his last song in progress, the unfinished lyrics singing back to him in his mind.
“What you working on, baby?”, two arms wrapped around Daniel’s shoulders from behind and he turned his head to see y/n.
He pecked her cheek, “Just a lil something.”
Y/n smiled and kissed his shoulder before resting her head on it, “Can I see?”
Daniel nodded, passing his journal to her. Y/n skimmed the contents of the page as Daniel briefly explained he had yet to finish some parts. He noticed the soft blush which tinted her cheeks when she looked up at him again. “Is this….about me?”
Daniel smiled bashfully, “Maybe?”
“You wrote a song...about me?”, y/n repeated.
Daniel nodded and scratched his head, “Everything i write is practically about you….do you um..like it?”
Y/n looked up at him , frozen for a second before wrapping her arms around him tightly. “I love it so much, and I love you.” She looked up, a lovestruck smile on her face, “I love you so so much.”
Daniel pressed his forehead against hers, their noses brushing together, “I love you too, my love, forever and always.”
She never got to hear the song. The lyrics, melodies and harmonies remained unseen, unheard. A song meant for his lover, that was so abruptly cut off by a sudden loss. It didn’t seem right to finish a song for someone who would never get to hear it. Daniel’s vision grew blurry and he wiped his eyes. His fingers brushed across the lyrics on the page, and he closed his eyes, imagining she was here.
I really hopе that by the fall
We'll find the peace we're missing in the missing pieces
Oh yeah
And I hope we look back at this song
As the beginning of the rest
And not the ending of the mess
Days when they had picnics at the park in their hidden spot, were always Daniel’s favourite. He would rest his head on her lap, y/n talking about her day while brushing her fingers through his hair. He loved the tranquility and the warmth of th emoment.
“You’re so pretty, did you know that?”, y/n whispered, her fingers playing with his hair.
Daniel looked up with a small blush on his cheeks, “Thank you baby. You’re absolutely beautiful.”
Y/n smiled, kissing his forehead, “Thank you, bubs.”
Daniel smiled, reaching up his hand to caress her cheek, “Can you read to me?”
Y/n giggled, “Since when have you enjoyed reading?”
“Since you’ve read to me, your voice is soothing.
Y/n smiled and picked up the novel she had been reading recently, flipping to the page she left off. “Should I start from the beginning?”
Daniel shook his head, “No, it’s alright. I just want to hear your voice, I like to hear you talk.”
Y/n pressed another kiss to his cheek before starting to read, flipping past the pages as Daniel listened attentively. As she read, he plucked a daisy on the grass, stretching his hand to lace in her hair, behind her ear.
Y/n shot him a smile before continuing to read, her hands going down to play with his hair. Every now and then, after a couple of pages she would lean forward to place a kiss on Daniel’s forehead.
After a while, Daniel said, “You missed a spot.”
Y/n looked down at him, putting the book to the side, “Oh?”, she smirked, “And where’s that, hmm?”
Daniel smirked, sitting up before pulling her in for a kiss.
“Right there.”
Y/n rolled her eyes, “You’re so cheesy”
“But you love it,” Daniel grinned.
Y/n shugged playfully, “Eh”.
“Hey!” Daniel’s fingers poked her side, causing her to giggle. He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close and tickling her.
“Daniel!”, y/n shrieked with laughter, “Stop it!”
Daniel laughed, “Just admit it!”
Y/n struggled against his grip before giving up, “Fine! Fine!” She gasped for a breath as Daniel halted, waiting for her to speak.
“I love it.”
“Love what?”, Daniel asked.
Y/n hesitated a moment before speaking, “I’m in love with you.”
Daniel froze, processing her words, “You are?”
She nodded, cupping his cheek, “I am in love with you, Daniel James, so much.”
Daniel’s face broke into a grin and he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her down to lay down on the mat as he peppered her face with kisses. Y/n giggled, “Dani!”
Daniel lifted his face, looking at her with nothing more than admiration in his eyes, “I’m in love with you too, so so much.”
But now you're
Probably wondering where are all the songs about us?
I hear 'em in my head, but I can't write 'em down 'cause
Once the pen's to paper, then it's really, really over
And I'd much rather pretend that maybe we're still okay
Daniel tapped his pen against the page, small flicks of ink replacing the absence of ideas. Write it for her. He dropped his pen and turned to his keyboard, his fingers dancing across the keys. A mismatched tune echoed in the room after Daniel played the wrong chord and he started again. When he couldn’t find his rhythm, he huffed in frustration, trying a different scale of chords.
He slammed his hands onto the keys, a violent note resonating through the room. Daniel tugged at his hair, trying to calm himself down. He turned and picked up his ukulele, tuning the strings, hoping that this would bring him somewhere.
It was like déja vu as Daniel couldn’t find his rhythm. He set the small instrument aside and picked up his journal. He browsed the pages, searching for any unfinished songs he could work on. Maybe that can get you somewhere. He turned a page, reading the title of the song, Love Song. He immediately flipped it over, ignoring the pang in his heart. Yet, the next page held another name which hurt to read, Fallin’ Into You.
It was as though everything was against him, trying to haunt him. Every page he turned had her name written all over it in melodies and drabbles of chords written in the margins. Every song was about her. Daniel turned to the last used page, the last song he wrote about her.
The one he never finished.
The one that slipped like y/n, through his hands.
He glared at the crossed out words and angry scribbles on the page, pulling the last straw. A sudden anger filled his veins and Daniel yelled, ripping out the page and throwing it to the ground. His hands gripped the sheets in his notebook, yanking them out. His knuckles turned white as held each page, tearing them out. He threw his notebook across the room. It hit the wall with a slam.
Daniel threw his hands on the table, pushing the stationary off the edge. The containers clattered across the floor as he raged across the room. He kicked the couch, a strangled cry leaving his mouth as he fell to the floor. Daniel gripped onto the couch cushion, pulling it down with him as sobs wracked his body.
He hid his face in his hands, clutching onto the pillow tightly as he broke down. He was tired and hurting. Everything ached and the weight of it all was too much to bear. Daniel leaned his head back against the arm rest, crying silently as he looked at the wreckage he caused.
A soft ping from his phone took his attention away as he weakly reached for the device in his pocket. He lifted the screen, seeing a pop up notification from his Photos App.
[Photos : Memories - 1 Year Ago Today]
Curious, Daniel unlocked his phone, clicking on the banner to direct him to the app. The application opened to an image of him and y/n with the scenery of the pier behind them. They wore the biggest smiles on their faces as they stared at the camera. While Daniel’s gaze was focused on the camera, y/n’s was looking directly at Daniel, a huge smile on her face.
Daniel whimpered, wiping his eyes to clear his vision and zooming in on the picture. He looked at y/n one more time before hugging his phone and the cushion close to his chest.
We're still okay

words: 3.4K
approximate reading time: about 10-15 mins
kinda warnings: okay so i don't actually know how Daniel's high school years and the start of his career were, and i changed a few things, please don't take it into consideration and just enjoy this xxx alsooo i'm not from the US, i have no clue how the school system actually works there. it's more like a huge flashback, moving over a couple years, but i felt like it was needed with his one
a/n: i felt like it’d only be truly appropriate if i did this song with one of the wdw boys. and i love Daniel more than anything. oops. oh and they announced a new album???? hell yes!!
(y/n)'s eyes lazily open and she blinks a few times while pressing her palm against her lips to muffle a yawn. As she takes in the room around her, it doesn't take more than a mere second for her (y/e/c) eyes to widen. It's not her room. And when she suddenly realises whose room it is, she lets out a gasp.
She's in Daniel's room. In his bed.
As her head moves around her surrondings, her body moves as well, and all of a sudden she becomes very much aware of how she's naked under the covers.
What-?
As she's about to finish the sentence and remember how she got in this situation, the bathroom door opens and Daniel walks out in nothing but a towel wrapped around his hips, water droplets falling from his just washed hair. (y/n) lets out a gasp, and all of a sudden she can remember everything crystal clear.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - flashback - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The (y/l/n) family moves to Vancouver, Oregon when (y/n)'s in the middle of freshman year. She has to transfer to a new school, something that scares the hell out of her. She's shy, she's nervous, and she's clumsy - a terrible combination.
And it's almost predictable how her first day eventually goes. On her way to her very first class, she bumps into someone as she reaches the top of the stairs on her way to find the right classroom in a hurry - as not at all surprisingly she's late - and all the papers in her hands fly all around as she falls down to the floor. An immediate blush paints her cheeks bright pink as she turns around to kneel on the cold ground, trying to collect everything whilst mumbling a quiet sorry towards the shoes of the other person.
"It's alright," she hears the voice of a boy coming from above her head before he squats down, helping her get the papers that flew out of her reach.
"Thanks," (y/n) mumbles yet again, still not daring to look up at him. Very good, (y/n), a perfect way to start your first day here.
But then suddenly a hand appears in front of her eyes, palm up and open for her to take it, and she caves in, raising her glance. She's immediately taken aback by the pair of impossibly blue orbs watching her, she's never seen such a colour. The boy's smiling at her, the kindness in his eyes radiant and making her much calmer within a moment. It feels like as long as she has this boy in this school, everything will be alright.
She dreamily accepts the held out hand, still lost in those icy yet still warm ocean coloured eyes. He pulls her up with seemingly no effort, and they stand in silence for a couple seconds, their hands still linked.
"You're new here, right?" The boy finally speaks up, his voice just as gentle as his expression, and it wakes the girl from her thoughts. The shyness comes back within a moment and she simply nods, not knowing what to actually say, but the boy doesn't seem to mind as he continues speaking. "I'm Daniel."
"(y/n)," she answers, and his smile widens, moving their hands in a shaking motion.
"Nice to meet you."
"You too."
The next moment a door slams shut in the distance and it reminds both of them that they should be somewhere else. (y/n) swiftly looks down at her paper to remind herself which classroom she should find, then moves her head back up, glancing up and down the corridor, trying to decipher which way to go.
"Can I help you?" Daniel asks her, seeing her obvious uncertainty. "Which classroom?"
He steps closer to look at the paper and she points at the proper part, trying to steady her slightly shaking fingers. Daniel nods and points towards their left, telling her the exact direction. A relieved sigh escapes her lungs as she adjusts the strap of her backpack on her shoulder, thanking the boy once again. He was a lifesaver.
"Okay, then. See you!" Daniel waves and after she smiles, nodding at him, he turns around and jogs down the stairs, soon disappearing from her sight.
(y/n) blinks a couple times, trying to concentrate on the things ahead of her instead of thinking about the boy. She follows his instructions and finds the classroom in no time. After a quick excuse to the teacher, telling him that she got lost (which was actually true - just not the whole truth), and a similarly quick introduction she sinks down in an empty seat.
It doesn't take long till the image of the boy - Daniel - comes back to her mind, pushing all other thoughts out.
She has never seen such an attractive boy before.
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
The next time Daniel asks her how she's feeling, how's the new school for her and they talk for a couple minutes before the bell rings and they have to part.
After their first accidental (and literal) bumping into each other the same thing kept on happening every other day. The first few times it happened they just smiled at each other, saying hello and moving on, but when they collide for the sixth time, it's just too funny to let it pass like that and Daniel comments on how interesting it is that it happens so often, and they share a proper laugh.
The next time (y/n) compliments his T-shirt that has one of her favourite band's logo printed on the middle part and it sparks a new kind of conversation they decide to continue at lunch break. (y/n) tells him where her last class before the break will be and he waits for her right outside the door as soon as class ends and they walk to the cafeteria together, already immersed in the conversation.
They find other shared favourites and hobbies which leads to more and more, longer and longer conversations, and after a while talking in school just doesn't seem enough. They start meeting every other week outside of school, sitting in fast food restaurants and walking around the city, talking endlessly until their vocal cords start hurting.
By the time summertime comes, they're close friends, purposely hanging out every other day, and it becomes harder and harder for (y/n). The previously childish feelings - crushing on the boy - seem to turn more and more serious with every single second she spends in his company.
His personality keeps her amazed, how many things they have in common, how honest, kind, selfless he so effortlessly and always is. And after the first time she hears him play music, she's absolutely mesmerised by his talent.
And don't even get started about how his eyes sparkle when he talks about something he loves, how his smile lights up his whole face and makes everyone around him want to smile right back. How perfect of a body he has...
And literally everything about him (y/n) finds perfect. She's falling hard, deeper and deeper as the more time passes, and there's nothing that could stop it.
What (y/n) doesn't know is that Daniel is starting to feel the same way. He finds himself think more and more often about how she's everything he ever needed. He's just not sure if she feels the same way, and there's no way he'd sacrifice the amazing friendship they had for such a foolish thing.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
When Daniel auditions for American Idol and eventually finishes in the top 9, (y/n) feels happier than ever, proud of her friend's success and glad that finally other people start to realise his extreme talent as well. While he's away, she misses him terribly, but pushes it to the back of her heart and mind, not letting it affect her mood and eventually let Daniel know about it. It's better if it stays hidden.
And when it's hard for him back in Vancouver, back in the school, she always has his back. He can always count on her standing up for him against all the petty students who make fun of him.
And when his success starts coming back, she's still there, right by his side - making it hard for Daniel to leave town to move to LA and start a band, but she practically orders him to go. His talent needs to be seen (and heard) by the whole wide world.
They keep in touch all the time, occasionally meeting (every time Daniel flies back to Vancouver - which isn't that often), and their friendship doesn't fade a single bit. They stay just as close as before, which is why Daniel invites (y/n) to LA to accompany him to the celebrating party of the release of Why Don't We's first album.
Though it doesn't take them long before they feel like it's enough and sneak off together to just aimlessly wander the streets, half-drunk from the bottles of booze in their hands, stumbling around, just laughing and having non-stop fun.
And then somehow their steps lead to Daniel's place, back to his room they spent the afternoon in and set off to the party from, leading to things escalating pretty swiftly.
- - - - - - - - - - end of flashback - - - - - - - - - - - -
"Good morning," Daniel chuckles, seeing her wide eyes.
"Good mo-" she subconsciously starts answering before swiftly shaking her head and changing her words. "What? How?"
"Which part?"
Daniel moves closer to the bed, a grin still sitting on his lips as he sits down on the mattress. His hands moves on instinct to grab the girl's but mid-movement stops himself, suddenly uncertain of how (y/n)'s feeling.
"I don't know, the whole thing," she whispers, looking away.
If Daniel says it was only a one night stand, her heart will be permanently shattered, she knows that. It's one thing to hide your true feelings from your best friend and another very different thing to hide those very feelings after sleeping with him.
"Actually, forget I said anything. I'll go pack," she clutches the sheet to her body, wrapping herself completely in it as she moves to stand up and gather her clothes that lay all across the floor. The embarrassment she feels is the worst she has ever felt and she just wishes Daniel would disappear from the room, or at least take his piercing eyes off of her.
"Do you regret it?" Daniel asks, the slight hurt he tries to hide still obvious in his voice.
"I don't know," (y/n) repeats her previous words.
That's how she feels about the whole situation. She doesn't know anything. What's going on, why it happened in the first place, what's gonna happen now.
She dares to cast a short glance back at the boy, and the sadness on his face makes her regret saying it, even though it confuses her even more. Why would he be sad? But seeing him like that has always been something that broke her heart, so she opens her mouth and says the first thing that comes to her lips.
"I mean, I don't want it to ruin our friendship. But it was great."
As soon as her mind comprehends what she actually said, (y/n) frowns, raising a hand to hide her face behind it. This is the worst thing she could've said. A moment later she feels the material around her body loosen with only one hand holding onto it so she swiftly removes the hand in front of her face to grip it again.
Her eyes land on Daniel and his unreadable expression. What is he thinking?, she wonders. I wish I knew.
"Isn't it a bit too late to worry about that?" His bitter voice enters her mind a couple seconds later, and he ends the sentence with an equally bitter, dark chuckle.
"Is it?" (y/n) asks back, eyes widening again as the realisation hits in that it might be the end of their friendship. She might lose her best friend in this very moment.
"I'm not sure I'd be able to go back to displaying no feelings after this," Daniel admits with a shrug, standing up from the bed to move to his desk instead, grabbing his phone as if he's trying to signal that on his end, the conversation is over.
What?! What did he say?
(y/n) feels too shocked to be able to say something sensible as the boy's words float around her brain. She tries to make sense of them. Did he say what she thinks he did? Did he mean it like that?
"What-" she speaks up, but her voice is so hoarse she has to pause and clear her throat before she could continue. "What do you mean?"
Daniel looks up from his phone, the screen lighting up his face from under. A water drop falls from the strand of hair that escaped from the rest of his hair and fell in front of his eyes and (y/n) follows its movement before returning her glance to his face.
"I mean, there's no point in hiding it anymore, I guess," he shrugs once more, his face still like a mask, unreadable and emotionless. "I like you. I do ever since sophomore year. Hell, I don't like you. I love you. I felt this way for long enough to know it's already love."
(y/n) sucks in a breath, and her heart feels like stopping - at least it skips a beat. All these years she has been wanting to hear these words so bad coming from Daniel's lips, yet they never did. And now he has just said them as it was nothing special, nothing extraordinary. As if he was talking about the weather when actually he was making her heartbeat fasten rapidly and her head start spinning endlessly.
As she tries to gather her thoughts to be able to express how happy he made her, she sees Daniel move from the corner of her eyes. He locks his phone, tossing it on the bed and taking a step towards the door. Then another one. And another.
(y/n) watches it happen in slow motion, only her mind spinning fast to find the best solution to stop him. And as if a magnet pulls her in, her body moves towards him on instinct, getting in his way before he reaches the door, stopping his walk. She raises both hands to grab his face and the sheet immediately falls down to the floor, but she couldn't care less.
It's not like he hasn't seen me naked.
And what she's about to do is much more important than the fact that she's entirely naked.
Just as Daniel's eyes widen, she pushes herself up to stand on her tiptoes and she leans in right away, pressing her lips to his without hesitation. For a moment he seems frozen under her touch, but she just keeps kissing him until he eventually melts and gives into her, his arms moving around her torso and pulling her flush against him as he kisses back with such a force it makes (y/n)'s heart beat even faster - so fast she fears it would be too much for the organ and it'd give up beating.
But she doesn't stop the kiss, just enjoys the moment to the fullest, now without any distraction from the slight amount of alcohol running in her veins last night that made everything a little blurry. Now she's in the moment a hundred percent, giving her all into it, feeling every single thing crystal clear.
How Daniel tastes - some kind of mint toothpaste -, how his damp hair feels in-between her fingers as she subconsciously tugs on his locks, how all of the places their skin touch feel like burning, how his strong arms keep her secure in his embrace, how he smells - the shampoo and the body lotion they bought when once he asked her to help him choose one.
And throughout it all, his previous words keep repeating inside her mind, making her the happiest every time, again and again.
It's perfect. Everything is perfect.
When they run out of breath, their lips part, but their foreheads connect instead, touching the other's delicately.
"What was this?" Daniel mumbles, the small breath he lets out whilst speaking tickling the skin of her lips.
"I thought it was obvious," (y/n) giggles in response.
"Not for me, please use your words, too," he asks, and even though she can see that mesmerising, electrifying sparkle in his eyes that lets her know that he knows exactly what she means, she's more than happy to give him what he wants and say the words she has wanted to say for years out loud.
"I love you, Daniel."
His whole face seems to light up even more as he hears the words. "Thank you," he whispers before moving in yet again, pressing feather-like kisses against her lips, then moving around her whole face, across her collarbone and shoulders.
Then slowly, very slowly he draws back, smiling at her so wide it slits his face in two. His arms loosen around her torso and he moves a tiny bit further. Looking deep into her eyes he waits for a moment, just enjoying the moment as it is, peaceful, happy and filled with endless love. Then he opens his mouth again.
"Get ready, we're going out for breakfast."
(y/n) chuckles, then a thought pops in her mind and she smirks up at the boy. "Are you asking me out on a date?"
"If you're asking me, I think we're way past asking out, but yeah, it's a date," he grins back.
"Okay, true. But this is the first official one!" (y/n) winks before lowering her arms from their position wrapped around Daniel's neck. Her fingers travel down his chest and abdomen and she takes a step back, swiftly leaning down to grab her clothes and making her way to the bathroom.
Midway there she hears a whistle from behind her back and she glances back above her shoulder to see Daniel standing with the sheet she has previously dropped to the ground in his hands, a naughty smirk on his face, his eyes glued to her body. She rolls her eyes and shakes her head at his action before entering the bathroom and closing the door behind her.
Leaning against it, she lets out a deep breath. It feels like as if a huge rock has just rolled down from her chest. She doesn't have to hide her feelings anymore. Daniel knows. And he feels the same way.
She steps further inside the room, placing the clothes in her hands down on the closed lid of the toilet when a new idea pops in her head. She ponders about it for a moment even though from the smile that spreads on her face in an instant she already knows she likes the idea way too much to stop herself now.
"Daniel!" She calls out throughout the door and within a moment she hears him answer back with a simple 'yeah?' . "Could you please borrow me one of your shirts for today?"
For a second everything stays silent. (y/n) temporarily holds back her breathing so she could hear everything coming from outside the bathroom better and it's not long until she hears Daniel's steps growing louder and louder before a gentle knock sounds against the door. Though before she could answer, he's already opening it, stepping inside with a shirt in his hand. It's (y/n)'s favourite.
"You can have it forever, not just for today," he announces playfully, then his eyes swiftly move down her body and back up. "Can I join you?" His head signals towards the shower.
(y/n) raises an eyebrow and tilts her head as if she needs to give it a thought. Daniel takes a half step towards her, his fingers already playing with the towel around his waist. It's clear that he'd love it if she said yes to his question and he's more than happy to get rid of that towel, but it's also clear that he'd do nothing but understand if she said no. And it's something that makes her heart flutter with extreme happiness and adoration.
She thinks about teasing him even more, but watching his waiting posture and intensely sparkling eyes she knows she couldn't take it and her head moves in a simple but clearly visible a nod and in a single moment Daniel kicks the door behind him shut, the material around his body falling to the tiles as he marches the rest of the way towards her with an insanely attractive and mischievous grin playing on his lips.

Relax - Daniel Seavey
Daniel x reader
Genre: smut, fluff
Concept: Daniel was the whole week busy in the studio making music. He is exhausted because of the busy schedule. You thought it would be nice to visit him and make him relax a bit.
——————————————————–
You were watching some tv. The other members were out so it was only you. Daniel left early that day to the studio. You came to visit him for two weeks. But since there was a deadline for the next album there was not much time for doing things together. You were looking through the shows on tv, when you saw a cooking program. They were making cookies. You looked outside thinking. You began to smile.
You went to the kichen. You were searching in the cabins looking for the ingredients. You placed everything on the counter and began to make the cookies. After a while you put the cookies in the oven. Then all you could do was wait. When the cookies where ready you put them in a box. You also took the milk and put it in your bag.
You closed the door and went to the studios. You arrived at his door. You wait before going in and listen first because you don’t want to disturb him. When it was quite you knocked three times. Daniel said yes. You opened the door at put your head between the opening. “Can i come in?” you said. “Of course you can babe!” Daniel said. You opened the door and came inside. You held the bag and said: “I baked you some cookies and brought some milk as well.”.
There broke a smile on his face. He was so tired but seeing you turning up with cookies made his heart melt. You began to blush because of the way he was looking at you. You walked up to him and placed the cookies on the desk. You pulled the milk out and poured it in his cup. All this time Daniel could not held his eyes off you. “Now, go tasted it.” you said biting your lip. You gave him a cookie and gave him the cup of milk. He dipped the cookie in the milk and took a bite.
You looked at him waiting for his reaction. He took a sip from the milk. He placed his cup on the desk. He turned to you and smiled. You smiled back. But before you can ask him how it tasted he took your face between his hands and placed it lips soft against yours. Your lips responed immediatley. Your lips where moving in sync like it is meant to be. You push Daniel lightly so he fall back in his chair. You straddle him and deepend the kiss. Daniels hands cupped your butt and makes his way up to your waist. You broke apart for taking a breath.
“Are you okay with this?” You asked. “Yeah, of course! We only need to be quite.” He said. “If you are too tired that’s also okay babe. I just thought you could use some relaxing.” You said. “You gave me streght babe. I want to do this.” He said making soothing patrens with is fingers. You smiled and went back to kissing him. You made a trail of kisses to his collarbone. He moved his head giving you some space.
Your lips found his weak spot on his neck and began to suck. Daniel moaned as soon as you found his weak spot. You pulled away and smiled at the results. You gave it a kiss and went back to his lips. The kiss was more needy than before. You stared to roll your hips into his. You both moaned into the kiss. His grip tightends around your hips.
You felt his bulg grow. Your fingers travelled down untill they met his belt. You start to undo his pants. Before you know you were placed on the desk. He took off his pants and so did you. He began to kiss you. The kiss was so passionated. His finger moved slowly from your neck to your breasts. You gasped. You bit your bottom lip when he moved downwards again. Soon his finger reached his destiny. He began to move his finger on your clit in circlemotion.
“Stop teasing.” You said between your teeth. He kisses you and pulled inside you without warning. “Oh, Dan - Daniel! Holy ** !” You moaned. He started to move inside you. From then on you were both a moaning mess. Your legs began to tremble. You began to feel the knot that was forming in your lower belly. Telling you that you were abou to come. “I’m comming.’ You said between moans.
“Come for my babe.’ Daniel said. His thrusts became faster. The desk was moving with eacht thrust. Your legs hooked around his back to feel him deeper. “Oh my god….!” You yelled and came. He came as well. You were still holding each other. Catching your breath when you both road out your orgasm.
He pulled out of you and kissed your forehead. “I love you.” He said looking into your eyes. “I love you more.” You said pecking is lips. You both got dressed. “Let’s go home babe.” He said holding your waist. “And what about your music?” You asked. “That’s for tomorrow. Tonight I want to be with the person I love.” He said kissing you.

“Hey, that’s my song!” // Daniel x Reader
word count: 1k
warnings: cheesy, kind of gross, wrote it in literally like 45 minutes, also inspired by tiktok
soulmate au where you can hear what your soulmate is listening to and vice versa. really fluffy and there's like no plot at all lol
hello I'm back from the dead
call me Taylor swift (Bri added this in)
Okay so
Basically this doesn't make any sense logically but its a tiktok thing and i wanted to write about it
So
Here we go
One day, you’re just chillin
And all of a sudden, you hear quiet music in the back of your mind
Like it wasn’t playing out loud like you originally thought, but rather playing inside your head
Confused, you turn to the internet for answers
A quick google search later, you find out its a type of soulmate link
The link allows you to hear what song they’re listening to
And whoever they were, definitely had good taste
It didn’t sound familiar, but it slapped
You couldn’t hear it well, but you did pick up a few lyrics
So you wrote them down immediately, determined to find said song
Because it slapped
THAT hard
Like she was a banger
Bopping
You were jamming along, when it suddenly stopped
With a shrug, you decide to go along with the rest of your day
The song, beyond any doubt, has stuck in your head since then
Meanwhile over at Daniel’s…
He was working on a song in the studio, but what's new
Absolutely nothing
Nada
N e way
Humming along to the beat he was creating, you could say he was really in his divine state
Slowly but surely, he heard a melody in his noggin
A familiar tune filled his earsIt was a song by lauv, who happened to be his friend
He didn’t really remember the name of the song, but he was definitely familiar with it
“Good choice, soulmate.” he mumbled to himself
“What was that?” Jonah asked, “Did you say something?”
“Yeah,” he replied, “my soulmate is listening to a song right now.”
“Oh cool, i didn’t know you had that link but it's very fitting for a very musical mans like you.”
“Yeah man.” Daniel says with a small smile, “she has nice flavor.”
Okay back to you
A week has gone by, and youre on your way to a cafe
Fast, right? Well I'm lazy
We zoomin
Also pretend we aren't in a pandemic and they can actually go outside and go to cafes and interact with people without dying
After hearing the song, you tried looking it up
But to no prevail, you came out empty handed
Maybe the song wasn’t out yet?
Was your soulmate a musician???T
hat would be pretty sweet, if you ask me
Anyway
You know what’s super funny?
Daniel is also there
Crazy!!! Its totally not like i’m writing this to make it work
You walk up to the cashier
Humming the tune you originally heard
Because she do be stuck
Get some goo be gone
Because she's sticky
Daniel happens to be right in front of you, but since you happen to have no clue who they are for some reason
you don’t notice theres a lowkey famous person right under your nose
As you’re humming away, attention on the menu in front of you
Daniel NOTICES
He notices something…
Sus
He hears a melody, which sounds new but also very familiar
When suddenly it hits him
Its his song!!!!
But the one that isn’t out yet
How would they know??? What is this?? What am I????
He turns
!!!!!
And he’s faced with you
You, who by now has spaced out, does not notice
Come on man, why
I guess thats on me tho
He taps your shoulder
“Hey.” he says
“Hi.” you reply, “Can i help you?”
“Yeah, actually. What is that you’re humming?”
You look down at your feet with a sheepish smile.
“I actually dont know.”
He gives you a weird look, but shrugs.“It’s a good melody, I like it.”
“Same here! I think my soulmate played it, thats the only reason why i know. Do you happen to know the song???”
He grins at you
And breaks out into a laugh
Haha
“Actually, that's my song you’re humming! Its not out yet tho.”
And then you go :000000
“No way! That’s crazy man.”
“Yeah,” he says, “i have no idea how you know it. Maybe your soulmate is like one of my producers or something.”
“Yeah...crazy.”
You frown a little to yourself
The man before was pretty good looking
A swell looking fellow if you do say so yourself
You definitely would not mind if HE was your soulmate
he probably isn't tho, he’s way too hot
“I can take who’s next!” the barista at the cashier yells.
“Oop, i guess that’s me.” mystery man says, before turning away.
After that you get your drink and sit down, and realize mystery mans is sitting across the room
Putting your headphones in, you decide to get to work and stop thinking about the boy
Humming along with the song playing, you type away at your assignment or whatever you’re working on
That's up to you, its your work not mine
Daniel, sitting there also happens to think the same thing as you
What if YOU were his soulmate? That would explain why you knew the melody to his song when it wasn't scheduled to come out for another like month
All of a sudden, a song cuts into his thoughts
He looks up at you, and sees that you are also listening to a song
And…
Happen to be humming along to the exact song he hears right now
Wow
Thats crazy
Totally didn’t see it coming
Right??? Sure
Immediately, he jumps up from his chair
I’m pretty sure it like fell and made a loud sound
But he’ll worry about that later
He BOLTS over to you
You, on the other hand, do not realize anything that’s going on because you have airpods in (or whatever headphone you use idk)
A song by your FAVORITE ALL TIME BAND who definitely is NOT why dont we…
Is blasting as you work away
So loud you don’t even realize daniel slide into the seat in front of you
When he gets there, he realizes it’s definitely you
Your music is so loud, he can hear it from where he’s sitting
He taps your laptop, and you pause your music, taking an earbud out
“WHy are you here? Can i help you?” you ask the stranger from before
“Hi, my name is daniel. Daniel seavey, to be exact. I think i’m your soulmate.”
That's it the end cliffhanger
And then kiss kiss fall in love
Maybe
