notes and thoughts under the cut
first off, i tried to choose darker skin tones for Ross, Briar and Rapunzel (because i hc the last two as spending a lot of time outdoors after their respective curses are broken) but uh. i forgot how limited the skin tone options were so. rip
anyways!
Belladonna: bella baby girl bella. bunny stuffie included ofc
Rapunzel: cannot for the life of me figure out if her hair is in a very loose braid or barely tied back
Ross: look....... the masculine options are not a wide variety, its very much geared towards female ocs
Snow: i kept the same nose and facial frame for her and Ross. not happy with the hair choice but my options are limited
Briar: briar my beloved. fun fact. she is the only one not wearing a dress. yes, ross is wearing a dress. i had to figure out how to keep his tits out look somehow wait oh my god i just realized the first four are in the same dress/shirt FUCK oh well. anyways, briar has nice biceps change my mind
Ivy: not happy with the hair choices but OH WELL. same nose and facial frame as briar. bonus james too

Reports of a strain of toxic pollen in a town at the base of mountains bordering the Czech Republic and Poland have troubled the locals, and whenever the dust is about to strike a strange, hypnotic song can be heard. The area is also close to the ancient Floralia Kingdom, which warranted another investigation of the Fairytale Detective in this seventh title of the Dark Parable series and the last made by Blue Tea Games until another title further down the line. It is a grand story, that brings back elements from the previous games and ties them together focusing on the role of the Guardians of Balance, with references to Briar Rose, Princess Ivy, and, of course, Snow White – and a very different spin on the Rose Red from the original fairy tale of “Snow White and Rose Red”. Even more familiar faces return, Gerda is back and is also the protagonist of the bonus game that takes place after the game concludes and expands on some of the loose ends from the main story.
Tumblr media
In fact, Ballad of Rapunzel is the first game of the series that offers three different endings, with the best (and considered true ending) archived by collecting twenty flowerstones and exchanging them for an object that is logged into the Fairytale Detective’s Journal.
This time they took a step back and didn’t have the hidden object scenes that the player needs to uncover secret locations or remove objects, which is a boon this time around as some of the scenes can get a little too busy and even in the background sometimes the objects can blend in the background and can be hard to telegraph. The puzzles can also lean on the repetitive side sometimes, but nothing too egregious.
Tumblr media
The bonus content feels like an expansion pack or DLC to the main story, following Gerda in her continuous adventures. It isn’t a prequel or another story adjacent to the main narrative like most of the time, but a direct continuation.
Tumblr media
While a bit messy at points, Ballad of Rapunzel comes strong in the storytelling department and it can be a fun time for the fans of the series and a “so long until next time” to Blue Tea. While it is clear the first four to five titles are the strongest in the series, to see one of the old fan favorites come back is always a nice treat.

um, Hi there! I saw that you were talking about the Dark Parables game the Exiled Prince And the Expert Mode within the main game. (Big Fan of the series, so I know what your talking about and I would like to explain it.)
The mode that you were expecting to find in regards to the keys and the empty room for another Quest, The one with the Frog prince's wife, Ivy's Coffin, can only be found within the Collector's Edition of the Exiled Prince Game Within the Bonus game titled: The Frozen Lair, Where it gives you more background Lore and foreshadowing for the Next game Rise of the Snow Queen before ending with the Detective going through a portal that leads to the Snowfall Kingdom.
The Expert Mode of the base game (The Standard Edition) is made to tell you that Snow White is the only wife still alive, and is quite Possibly involved within the next game's storyline. While it does only have concept art within the room, it's made to also visually shown that Snow White is 'frozen' out from the rest of the Wives. In short, the Expert Mode for the first two games, are made for a harder challenge rather than expanding on the world building.
If you're looking for more story Details and Worldbuilding for the characters, Lore, and much more like Ost, Wallpapers and the concept arts, The Collector's Edition of the games are where they thrive, While the Standard Mode of them, only tell the Main Story that's on the Game's Title Screen.
I Hope that this Explains the Issues that you were Having with the Exiled Prince! Would love to Hear more thoughts of the Dark Parables Series from you!
I Hope That You have a Wonderful Day/Night and if not, Then I Hope Your Week Gets Better! :)
Lol, to be honest, when I saw such a huge layer of information I thought it might be one of the bots, but then ha-ha, no, you scared me a little bit, dude X)
Actually, there was a problem in that on the Russian language server the collection versions of the first two games were not preserved, and the public access was exclusively non-collector. So it made me a little upset
But, thanks for telling about the features of the first two collection editions! It showed clarity on the situation, now I know more, he-he
Ig, it's great to find like-minded people about this line of games, it really warms the heart. Hope your day was great too!!!

Twisted Wonderland: Dark Parable
In the wake of a mysterious tragedy, students from magical academies band together to unveil a conspiracy that could threaten the very existence of their universe.
Introducing
Grimrose Academy for Young Ladies
Tumblr media
An all girls arcane academy located on the west side of the Isle of Sages.
Grimrose was originally the home of the Isle’s ruling family. The academy is a castle surrounded by three rings of white stone whose crenelated curtain walls increase in height. Between the outer and middle walls is a famous briar labyrinth which serves to entertain guests (and according to the legend, to slow down invaders). Within Grimrose's walls are groves, pavilions, fountains, and courtyards and there are several on-campus cafes, restaurants and stores, as well as lounges and even a movie theater.  The castle's structures are covered in ivy, berries, and climbing roses.
Similar to NRC, Grimrose is also a four year academy.
According to Dire Crowley, Grimrose is the largest academy in the island and has the biggest library as well.
Trivia
A common joke is that sudents often refer to the school as GAY (due to its initials). Students jokingly call themselves GAY Girls.
Grimrose's dorms are organized by year.
Students are identified by the roses on their uniform; red roses for first years, white for second, black for third and golden for fourth while teachers wear blue roses.
The Briar Labyrinth is known to change its structure on the daily, making it very hard to navigate without the use of an enchanted compass which is given to every student upon entering.
Students often throw parties within the labyrinth and is also a popular hook-up spot.
Despite the grim (no pun intended) layout, the school is often swarmed with butterflies, birds and woodland creatures such as squirels, deers and bunnies. This might be due to the abundance of flowers and berry plants.

hey Ivy, how do you feel about one of your descendants having similar powers to your own? Also to Birar, how do you feel about being an long time-aunt?
(I assume you’re talking about Brigid? If not, just let me know and I’ll redo this ask!)
Ivy: She finds it interesting that Brigid has powers of her own, and she relates deeply with her angst about her unnaturally long lifespan. After all, before the sacrifice she made for Prince James, Ivy knew all about what it feels like to be immortal, both with its ups and downs. Aside from that, there is of course the whole trouble of living away from their biological family (Ivy being sent to live in Germany and Brigid being sent to live in the Grak Kingdom), which is all too familiar. Ivy just hopes Brigid grows to be strong and makes wise choices (she rests assured that all the hardship Brigid has faced thus far has prepared her well). She wouldn’t want her great-great-granddaughter to suffer from the same mistakes she made.
Briar: She probably doesn’t even know she has relatives from Ivy’s line. She barely even saw Ivy, much less knew the meticulous details of what happened to her after her parents sent Ivy to live away from them. If ever she does happen to meet Brigid, however, the two of them would get along rather well. After all, they’re both brave, headstrong women. Maybe Briar would even get the rest of the Red Riding Hood Sisters to help Brigid on her quest to find the rest of her dispersed clan.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
The daughter of a chancellor goes missing in the Black Forest as the local legends of the immortal Frog Prince haunt the region, the perfect case for the Fairytale Detective. After solving the mystery behind of the curse of the Briar Rose and preventing it from spreading, our protagonist is tasked with rescuing the girl and figuring out the truth behind the legend. We are introduced to the ghost of Princess Ivy, the sister to Briar Rose from the previous game and she urges you to stop the prince before it is too late. The second game of the Dark Parables series builds upon what was started in Curse of Briar Rose and adds upon it, introducing elements that would be eventually explored in future titles such as hinting about Prince James’ wives and even future plot twists that will only make sense in hindsight, with elements that will follow the series as far as the 15th installment.
Tumblr media
As you explore, the detective’s journal is going to be your best friend. Sometimes it isn’t obvious where the hidden objects will spawn and some of them require to find evidence to be unlocked, whilst some of the backtracking might not make sense. In fact, sometimes this game is so “open” that it is hard to figure out what to do next, requiring to check the in-game strategy guide or walk around until figuring out the next objective even with the hints in the journal. The flow in general can be a little hard to figure out at times but it isn’t too egregious, merely a little aimless. At least while you walk around you may spot the cursed objects that will have the hint bar fill up faster.
Tumblr media
Thankfully the game has beautiful graphics. The locations are breathtaking, with some areas dedicated to each of James’ former princesses, all of them with bits of storytelling that will be further developed. The hidden objects scenes still have the habit of having objects slightly overlaying each other but they are rarely unfair (with the notable exception of finding Ivy’s leaves among other vegetation). The puzzles are also not too troublesome, with a few more extras in the hard mode that is unlocked after beating the game once.
Tumblr media
Also speaking of beating the game, there is an extra chapter that shows the preparations for the Fairytale Detective’s next mission: facing the wrath of the Snow Queen. This chapter, however, isn’t as interesting as the Briar Rose one and doesn’t offer much other than being a literal teaser.
Tumblr media
Despite its shortcomings, Exiled Prince is a game with high production values and quality, a step in the right direction in which would become a long-running series.

[Image ID: digital art of the Skip Button Room from The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe. It shows a bland room with a stand holding a yellow button in the center. The farthest left corner has a large hole in the ceiling, allowing sunlight in. Ivy, ferns, trees, and other flora grow around that corner. The ceiling is off center and falling apart, and the rest of the room is dark and neglected. Text at the top reads "Day Three: Skip Button Ending". end ID]
