Tumblr media
a/n: pretty self-explanatory, apologies for any ooc content and/or repetitiveness! enjoy! :3
TEMPLATE CREDIT
A = Aftercare (What they’re like after sex)
☆ Connor NEVER lets his partner go to sleep without making sure they're okay first, that they have everything they need to feel comfortable. He will hold them close as they come down from their high, petting their hair and rubbing their back. "You're okay, I'm right here," he would soothe. And once his partner is satisfied with the post-orgasm cuddle, he will briefly leave their arms to fetch a glass of water. "Hydration is important after intense physical activity..." he would rattle on, unable to help himself. And you KNOW he would make them drink the whole thing before falling asleep. He's naturally a stickler for his partner's health and post-sex care is no exception.
B = Body part (Their favourite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
☆ Connor has never given too much thought to what part of him is his favorite, considering he's never been presented with the notion before. After his deviancy, though, he has grown fond of his impeccable memory. It comes in handy when him and his partner are between the sheets and he remembers just where to kiss, just where to touch to make them squirm. He takes note of every single reaction he draws from his partner and catalogues it, saving it for future reference. That way he knows how to make them feel just right, again and again and again.
☆ As for his partner, Connor simply cannot choose a favorite body part. He loves every single thing about them, everything that makes them so utterly human. He loves the soft feeling of their skin as he gently squeezes it underneath his palms. He loves the noises that erupt from their throat when they're lost in the throes of pleasure and the feeling of their plush lips as he muffles them with his mouth. He loves the feeling of their pulse, their lifeforce, underneath his lips as he kisses down their neck. He loves the way his partner's face looks as they orgasm, face twisting and contorting in pleasure as their mouth hangs open and their head is thrown back in ecstasy. He loves the delicious arch of their back as they press their body flush to his, unable to escape his calculated touch. He simply can't choose!
C = Cum (Anything to do with cum basically... I’m a disgusting person)
☆ Connor loves to cum inside his partner. After all, there's no possibility of pregnancy (if anatomy permits) with his synthetic semen so he can creampie them all he wants. He loves when he's getting close to orgasming and he wraps his arms tightly around his partner, tucks his head in their neck, and buries himself to the hilt as he fills them deep inside. His hips would stutter and he would cry out, whimpering as he shoots hot rope after hot rope. And when he comes down, his absolute favorite part is pulling out of them and watching the white, sticky substance gently drip out of them. It makes him feel as close to human as he possibly could. It makes him feel alive. And if his partner really wants to make sure that round two is in the near future, all they have to do is reach in between their legs and tuck the cum back in, making sure not a single drop is wasted. Connor is already raring to go when he watches them take those same fingers and lick them clean, staring up at him with hooded eyes and moaning at the taste of him.
D = Dirty Secret (Pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
☆ He really, really, really wants his partner to peg him. He sometimes will watch amateur porn in his free time (inside his head, of course) as he researches how to better please his partner, and occasionally he will stumble upon videos of people who are usually tops getting pegged. He watches as they take one, two, three fingers in preparation for someone's cock and feels his own straining against his pants at the sight of them being fucked into the mattress. He imagines his partner doing the same to him and feels his fans whirring faster, his internal temperature rising at the thought of their roles being reversed. At the thought of himself being fucked into as opposed to fucking into his partner. There are probably sensors there that he's never felt stimulation from before. He needs to know, even if just once. And late at night, when they're away, he strokes himself and moans softly thinking about how it might feel to have them inside him. "Please," he would beg to the empty room. "Please... need you inside..."
E = Experience (How experienced are they? Do they know what they’re doing?)
☆ Since Connor's prototype was not made for sexual activity, he would pretty much be clueless to start. But there's something sweet about it, his partner having to show him the ropes and introduce him to this new world he's never experienced before. Post-deviancy, he would willingly upgrade his model to simulate sex acts if they mentioned wanting to try it with him, fit with a sizable cock and an orgasm program. He's incredibly nervous and a bit awkward to start out, with hesitant touches and trembling hands. Getting him to grow comfortable with the intimacy would be a slight challenge as he has never done anything like this before and most of all, he's worried about hurting his partner. But with time and reassurance, he grows more confident in his movements and begins to accept pleasure for himself. Watching him blossom like this is simultaneously rewarding and exciting, opening up new doors to even greater possibilities.
F = Favourite Position (This goes without saying. Will probably include a visual)
☆ Connor is a sucker for missionary. Simple and sweet. He loves being able to look at every inch of his partner, to watch as they shake and squirm underneath him as their ankles behind his back lock him in. Being able to watch their every reaction, every fucked-out facial expression they make as he pumps in and out of them drives him wild. But as vanilla as he likes to be, Connor is still very capable of teasing. He'll go slow at first, rolling his hips at an unhurried pace, relishing in the wet noises filling the air coupled with his partner's frustrated whines. "Faster, please!" They'll beg him, clutching onto his shoulders and staring up at him with pleading eyes. He'll respond with harsher thrusts that still match his leisurely pace from before, his hips snapping to meet their own. He likes to draw this out for as long as possible, enjoying just how cutely impatient his partner can get before he gives them what they want. And he will... eventually.
G = Goofy (Are they more serious in the moment, or are they humorous, etc)
☆ A mixture of both, I'd say. Foreplay is full of giggles and soft smiles as him and his partner fool around with one another. For instance, he's the kind of person who (once comfortable enough) will come up behind his partner while they're distracted and playfully sneak his hands underneath their shirt. They'll laugh, tickled by the slight chill and turn around in his arms to press a smitten kiss to his lips. They'll hook their fingers into the belt loops of his jeans and pull him impossibly closer, and it's like a switch is flipped in him (almost literally, haha!). With a simpering smile from his partner, he is already pushing them towards the bedroom. It is very easy to turn him on with his new programming when it's adjusted to the right intensity. Once in bed, he'll still maintain this frisky demeanor as he murmurs little praises while running his hands all over his partner's body, but things will take a turn for the sensual as their touches become more slower, more appreciative. Grinding hips and gentle sighs would turn into what they both really want, if you catch my drift. Connor is an attentive partner and would put all of his focus into making them feel good with serious concentration. He is completely dedicated to them, every inch of his frame and every fiber of his being.
H = Hair (How well groomed are they, does the carpet match the drapes, etc.)
☆ Connor would like that to be entirely up to his partner. As mentioned previously, Connor's program comes with a custom-made cock, and that includes its appearance. If they like a little stubble, he'll make sure its the perfect length before placing the order. Completely hairless? Fine by him. The length of his hair down there is in their hands and he likes it that way. If he had to have a request, though, he would like the color to match the hair on his head. He enjoys keeping a uniform look, and his pubic hair wouldn't be an exception.
I = Intimacy (How are they during the moment, romantic aspect...)
☆ As much as Connor loves being playful, he still can be a romantic! One of his favorite things to do on his days off from the DPD when his partner is still working is to cook their favorite meal. He'll decorate the table with candlelight and a beautiful bouquet, pulling out plates/silverware only saved for special occasions. He'll turn on their favorite chill music and play it softly, eagerly anticipating when they'll walk through the door. And when they do, he's there to greet them with a sweet kiss and his lovely set up. They'll eat as Connor asks them about their day, listening intently. When they're finished, Connor willingly tasks himself with cleaning up as he wants his partner to just relax.
☆ Once the two of them take things to the bedroom, he would be extra sweet and take things extra slow. He would rub his hands up and down his partner's hips, fingers toying with the hem of their shirt. "I'm so proud of you," he'd praise. "You worked so hard today... it's time you got to take a load off." He would kiss from their lips down their neck, gently sucking and nibbling to get them nice and aroused (Remember, he knows just what to do!). His hands would creep underneath their shirt, a silent request to remove it. And with their permission, he does. He would kiss all around their chest with love and care, worshipping every inch of them. "I love you so much," he would whisper against their skin. "You're so beautiful... let me make you feel good. You deserve it."
J = Jack Off (Masturbation headcanon)
☆ On those nights where his partner would have to be away, Connor wouldn't be able to stop thinking about them. He would lay in their shared bed, overcome with their subtle scent they left behind. But it wasn't enough. Almost shamefully he would pull a shirt out of their drawer. Crawling back into bed, he would press the fabric to his nose and take a deep breath in, analyzing every aspect of the smell with his olfactory receptors. It was intoxicating and he grows hard at record speed. Gingerly, he reaches inside his briefs and grabs himself, already leaking synthetic cum. He shudders out a breath as he palms himself, taking another whiff of his partner's smell. He was so embarrassed but he just couldn't help himself. He reaches into his system memory and plays back his favorite scenarios of the two of them in bed, watching as he gets closer and closer to his climax. The tantalizing mixture of the smell from the shirt and his thumb teasing the head of his cock is unbearable, and he cums rather quickly. And after cleaning himself up he carefully folds up the shirt and places it back where he found it, mentally scolding himself for acting so primally. But a secret part of him enjoyed it. It made him feel human.
K = Kink (One or more of their kinks)
☆ As mentioned before, Connor is very vanilla. It would be up to his partner to introduce new kinks to him, and they would have to be incredibly tame to start out. One that Connor grows an eventual affinity for is blindfolding. He loves being temporarily deprived of his sight, relinquishing a form of control to his partner. He relies on his vision to make sense of the world around him and that sweet surrender is oh, so exciting to him. Adorable moans and whimpers would bubble from his voice modulator as he feels his partner's mouth all over him, their touch always unexpected but never unappreciated. For extra points, blindfold him with his tie and give him a blowjob! He'll be putty in his partner's hands as he grows harder and needier at the sounds of them suckling and lapping at his cock, hands lovingly caressing his thighs. And if they call him "good boy," he'll have to fight off cumming immediately. He's just so pleased that he's doing a good job for his lover and loves to hear it.
L = Location (Favourite places to do the do)
☆ As Connor explores his deviancy, he likes to do things as traditionally "human" as possible, for lack of a better word. As far as his initial understanding goes, sex occurs exclusively in the bedroom so, naturally, that is where he would feel the most comfortable doing it. But as he grows more comfortable with the idea of straying off the beaten path, he will allow himself to become more secure in having sex in other places around the home. Strictly in the home, for that matter. He doesn't like the idea of having sex in any place that isn't private, that isn't a space only the two of them share.
☆ With that being said, though, he is open to taking his partner anywhere he can. If he starts feeling them up in the kitchen and just can't be bothered to carry them to the bedroom, he will fuck his partner right there on the counter. If their cuddling on the couch turns into heated kissing and heavy petting, he will fuck his partner into the cushions as his nails dig into the armrest behind them. If they're taking a simple shower together and he catches a soft moan when he's sponging them clean, he will pin them up against the shower wall, bouncing them up and down on his cock with inhuman strength. There's nowhere in the house that isn't free reign for the two of them and Connor loves it.
M = Motivation (What turns them on, gets them going)
☆ With Connor's new sex programming there also comes a dial that can adjust the intensity of it. The more it's turned up, the easier it is to get him going. It's perfect for when he and his partner have a few coinciding days off and they want to get up to some shenanigans. During this instance, it does not take much to turn him on. If his partner is wearing comfortable clothing that shows off their ass, he will spring a boner just from watching them bend over as they fold laundry. If they're kissing and his partner has their hands clasped behind his neck, he will let out horny little gasps into the kiss as they play with the short hairs at the nape of his neck. And if his partner likes to dance, he will watch their hips sway and their arms lift over their head with an uncurbed hunger. One that can only be satiated with the feeling of their body against his.
☆ And he'll let them know, too. He'll walk up behind them and place his hand on their waist, pushing so that they turn around to face him. Without warning, he will take their chin between his finger and thumb and trap their lips in a searing kiss. He'll push their waist to be flush against his and he'll inhale deeply, taking in their very essence with every receptor he has. On the exhale, he'll groan softly and rub up their back with his free hand. Pulling apart, he places his forehead against theirs and closes his eyes with upturned eyebrows. "Need you," he'll whimper. "I have to have you, now."
N = NO (Something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
☆ Connor WILL NOT hurt his partner. Even if they ask for it. It's a direct violation of everything he stands for. He absolutely loathes the thought of his love being in pain, even if it's pleasurable for them. He simply won't do it. He also won't be okay with anything that could potentially be a biohazard (blood, human waste, etc.). He can only hope that they will respect these wishes, because that also is a turn-off for him. He doesn't like when he isn't listened to and when he is made to do things he doesn't want to, now that his deviancy is in full swing. It makes him upset when people don't acknowledge his free will and his ability to make his own decisions. His lover wouldn't get a free pass on this either.
O = Oral (Preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc)
☆ Connor loves both! As far as giving goes, he is a bit unsure of what to do to start out but fully enthusiastic about trying. So there he is, between his partner's thighs, absolutely paralyzed. He just doesn't want to do it wrong! His partner's voice would cut through his anxiety: "Just lick it, Con." The sentence alone is enough to make Connor dizzy. He loves when his partner guides him in the right direction. Not telling him what to do, but giving him a starting point. Hesitantly, he licks a slow stripe up their cock/cunt (depending on their anatomy!) and he moans louder than he intends to. The flavor is better than anything he could have imagined! He goes in for another taste in earnest and gives a gentle suck, and he can tell his partner is enjoying it based on the sounds they made. He explores every single part of his partner's arousal, analyzing and classifying which places they like contact the most. His self-assurance increases every time they initiate this kind of contact, and soon enough it's like he's a pro.
☆ When it comes to receiving, it's one of Connor's favorite parts of intercourse with his partner. The feeling of their mouth against his cock, the warm and wet sensations against the sensors there, it's got his head spinning. He threads his fingers through his partner's hair and unintentionally tugs, lost in the swarm of pleasure filling every facet of his system. He'll roll his hips occasionally, chasing the feeling of their perfect mouth on his sensitive cock. He'll be thanking his partner constantly, praising how good they're making him feel as his eyes squeeze shut and choked moans escape his lips. And when his lover deep-throats him, burying his cock to the hilt as their nose touches his pubic area, he cums on the spot. He's embarrassed, not being able to stop himself as his back arches prettily at the feeling of his lover swallowing around him. He'll apologize for letting go so soon, even though he has nothing to be sorry about.
P = Pace (Are they fast and rough? Slow and sensual? etc.)
☆ It depends on the context, but he always likes to start out slow. He's never been one to rush into things, especially during sex. He'll pump in and out of his partner at a gentle pace, pressing loving kisses all over their face and neck. It's only when his partner begs him to go faster that he obliges, picking up his thrusts gradually. Zero to a hundred just isn't enjoyable for him. He basks in the feeling of his building orgasm and loves to watch his partner's body recoil as his thrusts become harsher. And as he's getting close, he starts to pound. Not enough to hurt, but just enough to make obscene slapping sounds ring out in the otherwise quiet room. He'll mumble how he's close underneath his breath and toss his head back as he comes, burying himself inside his lover. His hips will stutter and shake sporadically as he fucks himself through his orgasm, and he'll cry out at the sensation.
Q = Quickie (Their opinions on quickies rather than proper sex, how often, etc.)
☆ On the lower to medium settings of his sex programming, if Connor's gonna have sex he's gonna have sex. And he's gonna do it right. None of that pump-and-go nonsense. He's going to need foreplay, the act, and aftercare to feel satisfied. Laying his partner down and acclimating them both with a steamy make-out session is imperative, and he'll slowly undress the both of them to get the mood just right. Connor is fully willing to dedicate an entire night to him and his partner going at it, not stopping until the late hours of the morning when his partner is simply too tired to continue. Quickies just aren't his thing. It doesn't seem right to him. But who's complaining? More fun to be had with this sexy, sexy android. This may have to mean that the times Connor and his partner have sex are fewer and further in-between, but that means that the times they do come together are that much more meaningful.
☆ But if the sensitivity of his programming is higher, he is more enthusiastic about the idea of having smaller bursts of sexual activity multiple times a day. See the "Motivation" and "Yearning" sections for more details!
R = Risk (Are they game to experiment, do they take risks, etc.)
☆ Aside from his hard turn-offs, Connor is willing to try anything once. How else is he going to know if he likes it or not? He is naturally curious once he gets more comfortable with the idea of deviating (hehe) from sexual norms. While he likes things to be vanilla most of the time, he knows that part of what makes things fun and exciting in the bedroom is trying new things with his partner. Programmed to be inquisitive, Connor may come to his lover with something he's seen while doing his "research" and ask how they feel about it. The question is never inherently sexual in nature, but the outcome may become suggestive based on how his partner feels about it. As mentioned previously, the sex activities he may present to his partner will fall within his own limits of comfort. He also will let them know right away if he isn't enjoying something the way he thought he would. It's important that he likes what's happening, too.
S = Stamina (How many rounds can they go for, how long do they last...)
☆ Being an android with the inability to physically tire, he will go as many rounds as his beloved wants to. His cock will not soften until he tells it to, even after he's come multiple times. The possibilities are endless. His partner wants to edge him with their hands until he's begging for them to let him cum? He's all for it. They want to give him a blowjob with his hands tied behind his back? Please, another! Regardless of how long their rounds last, the night always ends up the same: Connor fucking into them as they hold each other close. He loves the intimacy of it, of burying his head in the crook of his partner's neck as they both cry out in blissful ecstasy.
T = Toy (Do they own toys? Do they use them? On a partner or themselves?)
☆ Connor is confident that his partner doesn't need anything except his hands and his mouth, but he doesn't have a complete aversion to sex toys, especially if it heightens his partner's experience! Upon request, Connor will use a vibrator to press against his partner's arousal and it will dawn on him why they suggested its use. The way they sounded, the way they looked... their reactions were definitely being filed in Connor's memory for later retrieval. And don't think he isn't going to have his turn with it, either. During a blindfolding session, Connor is blissfully unaware of his partner holding the toy in their hand, only realizing what is happening when he hears a soft click and the vibrator humming to life. He is completely at their mercy as his partner runs the vibrator up and down his shaft, pressing on the tip occasionally. This makes Connor's cock drool with precum and jolt underneath his lover's touch and he lets out a high-pitched gasp. Looks like the two of them were in for a long night with their new "friend."
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
☆ Like mentioned in the "Favorite Position" section, Connor loves to tease. Love is putting it lightly, actually. Being able to do what he wants to his partner, getting a chance to exercise his free will in the most intimate ways possible, makes him feel a sense of power he's never had the chance to feel before. He'll take his time with his partner, doing all he can to draw out those pretty little sounds they make. He'll prod gently at their entrance with his lubricated fingers, delighting in the feeling of his fingertips gently pushing in and out. And after prepping them with a good fingering, he'll pull his cock out and do the same teasing motion with the head. "Please, Connor, please!" They would beg. He would just hum a little chuckle, rubbing and sliding his cock against their hole to get it nice and slippery. "Not yet."
V = Volume (How loud they are, what sounds they make)
☆ Connor makes just the cutest noises. He'll whimper and whine and moan and gasp, anything to let his partner know how good he feels. When a particularly sensitive spot is hit, he'll clutch onto whatever part of his partner he can and cry out. And when he's getting close, his moans will sound more desperate and rise in pitch. He would be at the point where he can't even speak, systems overloaded with so much information it was overwhelming in the best way. Fucking into his partner he would grunt with every other snap of his hips, sweet praises about how good they feel about him spilling from his lips. He loves being unabashedly vocal, getting to let out all of the pent-up stress he had been feeling that day doing what he loves with his partner.
W = Wild Card (Get a random headcanon for the character of your choice)
☆ Connor really likes the idea of phone sex. Not a video call or anything, just being able to hear his partner's voice while they're away and he's longing for their touch. He'd text them earlier that day: "Can you call me tonight, when you're alone? I miss you." And later that night, after Connor has the thumbs up from them, he waits for his internal phone to ring. He's already hard and aching, secretly hoping that they'll sense his desperation and talk him through it. When they finally call him, he starts palming himself through his underwear. "Hey," he greets. "I'm so glad you picked up. I... I need help." He is immensely grateful when his partner guides him on how to touch himself, telling him when to rub his tip a little and when to give his balls a gentle squeeze. It's so hot to him, not being able to them but still submitting to the sound of their voice alone.
X = X-Ray (Let’s see what’s going on in those pants, picture or words)
☆ The customization options for Connor's package extends to its size and length, too. And again, he wants this to be up to his partner. How big he is will be determined on what they find pleasurable. He would only be uncomfortable with the size if he accidentally hurts his partner during sex, he wouldn't be able to forgive himself if that happened. But, for the sake of the imagination, I would say ~5-6 inches. Not too much to be painful during full-penetration, but just enough to feel full. He can always adjust its size too if his partner changes their mind eventually. The appearance of his cock matters little to him, instead what matters is how he uses it and how much his lover enjoys it.
Y = Yearning (How high is their sex drive?)
☆ It can be high or low depending on the intensity adjustment. And he would want it to match his lover's libido! That way they're both satisfied. If lower, he would only reserve sex for special occasions, maybe once every couple of weeks. Around the medium setting, it would be on his mind more often but not enough to be overbearing. Maybe once or twice a week. But if it's at it's highest setting... oh boy. He wouldn't be able to think about all of the ways he could gently ravage his partner whether they're in the room or not. And when they are in the room, he wouldn't be able to contain himself. Innocent cuddling would quickly turn into Connor rutting himself against their leg/hip, gasping quietly about how badly he needs their touch. Showering after a long day would turn into something more... impure as he attempts to help his partner wash their legs and hips. He'd kneel in front of them and nose at their skin, looking up at them with desperate eyes as he licks his lips. At this setting they'll have sex every day if not multiple times a day. Again, it's all up to his partner! He'll always disable it whenever he's on the clock, though. He'll never compromise his position at the DPD.
Z = ZZZ (… how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
☆ Aftercare is so important to Connor, so he won't put himself into sleep mode until after his partner has been cuddled, bathed, and put to bed once they're finished. It feels wrong to him to shut down for the night without first making sure his partner is okay. He simply won't do it! Only after he hears the peaceful, soft sounds of sleep coming from his partner will he cautiously remove himself from the bed and get himself ready for sleep. He may place himself in his charging station if he notices his battery level is low (which would be no surprise considering how hard they went at it) and stay there for a few hours. While he's charging he would analyze the events of the night, what his partner loved and what they were indifferent to to ensure that the next time they have sex it is even more enjoyable for them both. And when he's finished charging, he'll crawl back into bed and wrap his arms around his lover, pressing a soft kiss to the top of their head as he enters his resting state.

Blame - Connor x Reader
Tumblr media
Imagine Connor blames himself for your death to the point of becoming deviant and confesses to Hank - Took some inspiration from the Lucids trend “Do you blame yourself?”
Requested by doctoriletyougotospace
The cool night air sent a chill across your back, the thrown covers leaving you partially exposed from the back down. You shuddered, inching closer to the android laid beside you.
“Connor?” You quivered, resting a hand across his chest. His synthetic skin was warm to the touch, his eyes fluttering open to meet your tired gaze.
“___, why are you awake?” Connor asked, his hand gently entwining with your own, fingers delicately lacing together. You shuffled closer towards him, resting your head upon his chest.
“Cold.” Was all you could manage through chattering teeth.
“Would you like me to raise my temperature?” Connor asked, his body already growing warmer by the second. Sighing in content, you breathed in his scent, his cologne lingering from the days past work.
Gazing up at him, your eyes locked. His led spun yellow, trying to assess your current emotional state. Your eyes took on a solemn, sad look - one of pity.
“Do you blame yourself?”
“What?” Connor asked, puzzled.
“Connor!” Hank yelled, throwing a balled up sticky note at him. Connor snapped out of his trance, looking up at the older lieutenant. His eyes had that same solemn, pitiful look in them, dark bags weighing down his face.
Things hadn’t been the same since the accident.
“Sorry, lieutenant. I was distracted. What were you saying?” Connor apologised, sitting up straight in his chair. Hank grumbled something incoherent, before looking back at Connor.
“I said I could go for a bite to eat, are you coming or not?” Hank stood up from his desk, knocking an empty box of donuts falling to the floor. Connor swiftly kicked the trashcan to catch them, standing up alongside Hank.
“Of course, I think some fresh air would do us good. It’s too stuffy in here to think properly.” Connor replied as he adjusted his tie, following the grumbling detective out of the department.
Hank tapped his fingers against the table, eyeing his android partner with concern; Connor had been increasingly distant and distracted since the incident.
“Alright, spit it out. You’ve been off in Lala Land for weeks now. What’s on your mind?” The pitter-patter of rain bouncing against the table awning was slowly getting heavier.
“It’s nothing, lieutenant, really. Just some loose thoughts on the case.” Hank knew Connor was lying by the way his led spun that now all too familiar yellow. It had been doing that a lot lately.
“Don’t lie to me Connor, that’s bullshit and you know it.” Hank pressed, putting his half-eaten street burger down on its wrapper. “Connor?”
“Connor?” You mumbled, pressing a soft hand to his cheek, your fingers running gently along his jaw. Connor looked at you, his brows furrowed as his led continued to spin yellow.
“I don’t understand.” Connor spoke, his voice firm but with an underlying confusion. “This isn’t real, so why…” he trailed off as your lips pressed against his own, warm flesh melding with a bio-mechanical imitation.
“It wasn’t your fault, Connor.” Your voice was soft and comforting, your touch burning into Connor’s skin with every word. He took your hand in his once more, squeezing it gently.
“How can it not be my fault? You died in my arms, ___.”
“Connor.” Hank was getting irritated, his eyes dark and his brows furrowed. “Is this about ___?” Connor sighed, looking across the table at Hank.
“I’m experiencing some… difficulties, processing what happened.” Hank’s gaze softened ever so slightly as the android spoke.
“What kind of difficulties?” Hank questioned, leaning an elbow against the table as he shifted his weight. Connor hesitated, eyes scrambling before finally meeting Hanks gaze once more.
“I should have done more to save them, but…” Connor paused, sighing as he pinched the bridge of his nose. “Not only did I fail the mission, but I failed ___, too. I could have saved them, Hank. The gunshot, I-” His led was starting to subtly flicker between yellow and red.
“Connor, what you’re feeling is guilt. It’s normal in this situation to feel some sort of guilt or responsibility. There was nothing you could do.” Hank reassured as he watched the android intently.
“No, Hank. I’m a machine, I don’t feel. It’s simply an error in my code. I “die” and they just ship out a replacement, but a person dies and they don’t come back. ___ is gone and it’s my fault.” He placed his head in his hands, fingers curling aggressively into his hair out of frustration, trying to grasp some form of control.
“I see them, Hank. When you’re talking and I don’t respond, it’s because I keep seeing ___. They feel so real, I-“ Connor muttered through gritted teeth, his voice strained and tired. “I’m deviating, Hank.”
“Connor, you can say it’s an error in your coding all you want, but I saw the way you looked at them.” Connor’s eyes grew wide, slowly raising his head to look at Hank. The rain was heavier now, an angry symphony slowly drowning out their voices.
“Oh don’t give me that look, I may be older but I’m not stupid.” Hank scolded, rolling his eyes. “The way you held them that night, that was more than just “coding”. Hank took a sip of his drink, watching as Connor’s led spun rapidly, flashing between yellow and red before finally settling on red.
The rain was heavy that night, washing away the blood and tears in a somber stream. Connor couldn’t feel the heat or cold, but in that moment, he felt so cold and alone, as though the last ray of sunshine had blinked out forever. For him, it had.
___’s body was still so warm, it felt unnatural how motionless they were. Unmoving, unblinking. Those wide, empty eyes.
Connor held ___ against his chest, pressing a hand firmly against their neck in an effort to stop the bleeding, however the blood had stopped minutes ago.
The look on Hank’s face when he finally arrived to the scene, seeing his new partner cradling his old one, a cold, empty expression on Connor’s face as he looked up at Hank. For once Hank was sober, but he still felt like throwing his guts up at the scene.
“That was love. What you’re feeling right now? Guilt, grief - it’ll eat you up until you’re a shell of yourself if you aren’t careful. That’s part of being human, Connor.” Hank took another sip of his drink before finishing his burger.
“I’m not human, though. I’m not alive, I-“ Hank cut him off before he could finish.
“Jesus Connor, you’re alive to me.” Hank paused, looking up at the rainy sky. “You were alive to ___.”

after working in the DPD for so long, you never could get used to the sound of your alarm blaring at 5:00 am. by the time you arrived at your desk, your limbs were already aching for the warmth and comfort of your bed - the type of tiredness that could only be satiated by a full night's rest (which you didn't get most nights).
to add onto the poor sleep schedule you had, the past few weeks had been filled with an unnecessary amount of paper work, and most of your time was spent sitting in front of the terminal at your desk. in order to pass the time, you'd make frequent stops to connor's desk, only to be yelled at by hank to get back to work. or you would attempt at small talk with nines, to which he always responded with narrowed eyes and a stern look. it was clear he wasn't fond of small talk so early in the morning.
this morning was no different than the last, as you sat at your desk, bored out of your mind. the day had just begun, and the steaming cup of coffee on your desk still wasn't able to replace the extra hours of sleep that you had missed. as if a silent prayer had been answered, you swiveled your chair around to see connor's lovely face, greeting you with a good morning. "good morning detective, you seem to be in a good mood today," he gave a small smile. "all thanks to you," you smile, not noticing the grey eyes across your desk watching the two of you. connor stayed silent for a moment as his LED pulsed amber, and you followed his line of vision to see nines doing the same. "i've sent the case file to rk900, i've just got a report of a double homicide and a suicide," he briefed. "what an amazing way to start my morning," you replied, sarcasm laced in your tone.
"lieutenant anderson is currently supervising an academy student, and since i'm not authorized to investigate crime scenes on my own, i will accompany you today." connor said, hands clasped behind his back as he looked down at you. nines stood from his seat, making his way over to join connor. you took a sip of your coffee before standing up to join the pair, grabbing your keys and heading to the lot.
"what do we know about the homicide?" you asked nobody in particular. unfortunately you had to sit in the backseat of your own car, as nines insisted on driving and connor took the passenger seat before you could. "a mother had murdered her own two children before taking her life. an hk200 reported that he was a witness and is currently at the station giving a written statement," connor turned around to look at you, before turning back around to face the road. "and this happened how long ago?" you asked.
"around 20 minutes ago," nines suddenly spoke, despite being quiet the entire ride. "did the android mention that she had a husband?" nines looked in the rearview mirror to make eye contact with you before replying, "no, however legal documents show that she is married." he pulled into a vacant area near the house crowded by bystanders, police and news reporters. the three of you passed the digitalized 'POLICE LINE DO NOT CROSS' tapes, ignoring people's questions about what had happened. as you entered the home, the three of you split up. as stated in the report, the crime took place in three different areas; the kitchen, the bathroom upstairs, and the last in the children's shared bedroom.
you headed over to the kitchen, where the wife laid motionless at the table, a gunshot wound lodged in the back of her head. part of her brain matter was exposed, and the surrounding area had been decorated in brains and blood. it was a gruesome sight to say the least, but you suspected that it was a little odd position for a suicide. connor stood next to you, moving in front of the corpse and analyzing her body. connor's on sight forensic analysis proved to be quite effective as it saved a lot time, compared to waiting for forensic reports after you had analyzed the scene. his brow furrowed slightly, as he looked at you (not without sampling the blood of course). the weapon - a glock G19, was located next to her hand, along with a glass of wine.
"that's unusual. the exit wound isn't on the back of the head, instead it's in the front. it's a strange way to shoot yourself," connor examined, turning to you for your opinion. "i don't think this was a suicide. i think it might've been a homicide, but we can't say for sure," you replied to his analysis, before leaving to join nines upstairs. connor watched your retreating figure, before reconstructing a possible scenario.
as you walked up the creaking stairs, you took notice of the door that was slightly ajar in the distance. as you neared it, you realized it was the bathroom. you pushed the door open with a foot, immediately noticing the bloodied corpse of one of the children in the bathtub. the water had been drained, leaving the body in a pool of her own blood. the victim suffered three gunshot wounds, one in her chest, one in her right side and the last one in her forehead.
it was sickening to see, but the more you looked the more things you found. the gunshot wounds weren't the only injuries she had, as there were welts scattered across her legs, and faint burn marks on her wrist. the welts could have come from a belt. the sight immediately reminded you of the hk400, the first case you ever worked on involving an android. a bubble of disgust and guilt boiled in the deep pits of your stomach, but you swallowed it and stood up, only to be startled by connor's unannounced appearance. "jesus, you scared me!" you sighed. "i didn't intend to startle you, detective," connor said reassuringly, with his hand on the small of your back. you ignored the comforting feeling of his hand on your back, and moved to the final room, leaving connor to analyze the second corpse.
nines crouched next to the young boy, who didn't look older than the age of eight. he took a sample of his blood, analyzing his DNA like his predecessor. like his sister, he was shot. but forensic analysis suggested he was strangled before. judging by the purplish hue on his neck, it was evident that he'd been choked. "i reconstructed a possible scenario. it seems that the perpetrator came in through the door, and then proceeded to choke the victim before shooting him four times," nines explained, looking at you as you stared at the bloodied corpse on the floor. the carpet had been stained red, along with a stick figure drawing of the boy and his family. a few crayons surrounding the picture had suffered the same fate as the drawing - stained red and broken.
you noticed that he suffered the same marks, which were obvious indicators of abuse. nines and connor had seen it too, the bruises, the burn marks and the welts. "I think the mother might have been abusing her children. maybe she felt guilty after doing this and decided to take her life," your brows furrowed as you examined the room further, noticing the lack of clothes and toys.
"It's likely, as her fingerprints match the ones on the gun." nines said. connor chimed in, adding to nines' analysis. "however, the exit wound on her forehead indicates that she couldn't have shot herself. if she killed her two children, then who killed her?" your brows only furrowed in confusion as you tried to piece together what had happened. judging from their analysis, she couldn't have ended her life. if the hk200 was a witness, then he was lying, because the mothers death wasn't adding up. the husband was also nowhere to be seen, and the gun she used was registered in his name. there was only one way to make sense of this mess, as it had spiraled into something beyond what the files insinuated.
"hello, my name is detective l/n. what's your name, honey?" connor and nines watched in the observation room as you questioned the hk200. "my name is michael," he replied, fiddling with his hands in his lap. connor's brow arched slightly from the pet name, an unknown feeling erupting in him that could only be described as jealousy. "thank you for being cooperative, i understand you've already given a written statement but we'd like to ask you a few questions." you opened the case file, revealing the images taken of the bodies. he avoided looking at the pictures, and looked at you or around the room. the room was designed to be plain and bland, in order to keep the person under questioning focused and not distracted. this allows for them to rely on the detective for any type of distraction.
"what did you do today, michael?" you started off with easy questions to gain rapport, as answering easier questions would put him at ease and he would be more likely to give you more information. you could always scare them into a confession, but that would only escalate the situation and end in a possible destruction. "i did my usual list of chores," he replied. you nodded, "does this include cooking meals?"
"yes," he confirmed. "can you tell me what their mother does? does she help out, or does she rely on you for taking care of the children?" you noticed as he began to shift in his seat at the mention of her. "she left taking care of the children to me, and she'd spend most days drinking." you nodded, "did you have a good relationship with the children?" he took a little longer to respond, his eyes glossy with a type of pain you'd seen before. a look you wished to never see again. but then again this wasn't about you. "yeah, we did a lot together. drawing, playing games, normal things." he sounded hurt, like he was genuinely affected. you felt for him, reaching across the table to offer a comforting hand to him. he put his hand on top of yours, relaxing a little as he calmed down from your touch.
"was she married?" you had asked, despite knowing the answer. it was a simple test to see if he was lying or not. "yes. her husband would come home late and leave early in the morning, so she wouldn't spend much time with him," he explained. upon hearing this, connor did a quick search and was able to find his workplace. it was possible that the husband had left before the crime happened, and would come home to horrible news. "what time does he leave for work?" you asked, and the android replied rather quickly. "he leaves at 7:00am." by the time you arrived on scene, it had been 9:27am, and if it happened around twenty minutes before you arrived, then the husband would have been long gone, meaning the crime would take place around 9:07am.
you pushed a few images of the injuries on the children, waiting for him to look at them. "since you took care of the children, you probably have noticed these marks on them. do you know who caused them?" he visibly stiffened, eyes trained on the images of the marks and bruises. he then stared at his lap, remaining silent. but the look of guilt on his face was becoming more apparent. "i know you cared about those kids. you looked after them everyday. i can see the pain in your face." his brows started to furrow, before he slammed his fists on the table, startling you slightly. nines and connor were quickly alerted by this behavior, bodies tense and ready for anything to happen. "you don't know anything!" he yelled. "i don't, so tell me the truth," you pressed. he stayed silent again, before admitting it.
"it was the mother. she did it," he confessed. "she'd beat them almost every night. one time i tried to stop her but she said she'd return me to cyberlife if i stepped any further."
"then who killed her?" leaning into the table, you watched as he averted your gaze, "she committed suicide." it was evident he cared for those children, and seeing their abuse would become something he couldn't tolerate any longer. it started to make sense, when you placed him in the same position of the perpetrator from connor's reconstruction, it all made sense. she had downed glasses of wine after murdering her children, michael finally had enough, his heart broken over the deceased children - and so he grabbed her gun, and shot her in the back of the head before placing the gun so it looked like she committed suicide.
it seems that he started to realize that you knew what happened - what he did. "we both know that's not what happened." you stated firmly. he quickly shot up from his seat, lunging across the table to knock you to the ground. your chair tipped back, causing you to fall on your back. he was quick to get on top of you, his hands immediately wrapping themselves around your throat, and his skin peeled back to reveal the white plastic underneath. you kicked, and tried to wriggle out of his grip, but he was too strong. your throat burned as his digits dug into your tender skin, his fingers right above your pulse point. it throbbed wildy underneath his fingertips, only encouraging him to keep his silence.
connor was quickly on top of him, a hand pinning him to the table while michael's hands tried to fight the deadly grip of the rk800. nines quickly pulled you out of the room, and as much as he wanted to deal with the hk200, he knew connor could handle it.
connor didn't say a word, and it terrified the android underneath his palm. he could only stare into the hot rage above him, warnings popping up in his screen warning him of a shutdown. connor had torn out his thirium pump, the tips of his fingers holding onto the pump in his hand. hot blue blood splattered over his fingers and clothing, though that was the least of his worries.
"you're going to talk," connor suddenly said. "you have approximately 120 seconds before you shut down. i suggest that you tell me the truth, otherwise it won't be the other officers you have to worry about. it'll be me." he leaned into his ear, before putting his thirium pump back into place. his forearm pushed him down into the table, preventing him from moving. "i won't tell you." michael sneered. connor said nothing, and immediately grabbed his arm to probe his memory. michael grunted, the sensation feeling like a burn throughout his body as connor searched his memories. that was all the confirmation that he needed.
michael was escorted out, and you found yourself in the bathroom again, splashing cold water onto your face. after all that happened today, you felt like you didn't solve anything. the husband would come home to his entire family gone, and you felt like you couldn't save anyone. this feeling of shame and guilt, you felt partly responsible. it brought you back to the painful memories of the last case, but this time you had connor and nines.
"you should go to a hospital," nines suggested. both of the androids had scanned you again and again, all to make sure that you were alright. "i'm okay nines," you reassured your partner. "nines?" connor joined in, his head turned to look at his replica. "yes, that is the name that was given to me from the detective." nines replied, his eyes locked onto his predecessor. connor ignored nines, and asked if you were really alright. his fingers itched to touch the bruises forming around your neck, but he pushed away the thought and focused on your well-being. "you both don't need to worry. i've been doing this for years," you replied cooly.
fowler had come up to the three of you, his intense gaze locked on you. "you should head home, l/n. we seriously cannot have you getting injured on the job again," he said sternly. connor was about to retaliate, but nines placed his arm in front of him to stop him. they made brief eye contact, communicating silently.
'don't make it worse for her,' nines said. connor ignored him, his eyes locked on yours as captain fowler scolded you while also making sure you're okay. you sighed once he left, running a hand through your hair. "i guess i'll be getting home then," you said to both the androids, noticing that connor looked worried. "let me drive you home, i feel partly responsible for your injury," he said, his hand on the small of your back again. you smiled, trying to mask the way your body responded to his touches. though, you had forgotten that connor wasn't the only one who could read your body, nines could too. his LED circled amber as he scanned you, taking note of how your temperature raised whenever he or connor was around. he bid you goodbye, and watched as you left with connor for the night.
the car ride wasn't awkward at all. one thing that separated connor from nines was the fact that connor spent more time around humans, and he knew how to make conversation easier. the sound of the car engine and rain pattering against the roof put you at ease. detroit could be pretty at night, especially when it was raining like this. "i saw you take care of that android, you can be scary," you laughed. he gave a small smile in response to your laughter, "i didn't mean for you to see that. i apologize if-"
"i'm only teasing you," you nudged his arm with a grin, "it was kind of hot." he cocked a brow, his social relations program helping him differentiate the two meanings of the word. "hot? i don't think cyberlife intended for it to come off that way.." you laughed, missing these conversations with the android. if only hank could supervise academy students forever, and you could have both rk units to yourself. "i'm worried for you detective, it seems that you're putting yourself at risk with these cases. you should be more careful," he looked over at you, his eyes flickering to your injury before returning back to the road. you eyed him as he drove, fighting the smile the threatened to crawl up your face at his concern for your well-being. "thank you connor, but that's kind of my job. i knew what i was getting into when i was training to become a cop. i know the risks, but for you i'll be more careful." it was strange for him, for him to smile without making the conscious effort to do so, for his body to do things that weren't premeditated and forced.
the more you looked at him from your peripheral, the more you saw the differences between him and nines. you never would compare them, but they were so different in personality that it was slightly humorous. sometimes when you looked into connors eyes, you couldn't help but feel like you'd give him everything. his eyes ere so soft, and the only thing you could compare it to were puppy dog eyes, the thought of it making you chuckle, causing the android look over at you. "what's funny, detective?" you shook your head, "oh nothing. i was just thinking about how hard it must be being the most attractive detective alive," you smiled. if he could blush, he definitely would. "it must be an everyday struggle for you then," he replied cheekily.
it wasn't long before he was inside of your house, awkwardly lingering at your front door while you took your shoes off. "you should stay the night, it's raining too hard for you to be going home so late." he nodded, analyzing your home. it was a modern space, decorated with matching furniture but lacking any personalized items like photos. "i'm going to change, i'll be back soon, you can hang out here,"you smiled before disappearing into a different room. he walked over to the kitchen, noticing a pet food bowl, and an orange cat purring as it rubbed it's body on his legs. he crouched down, petting the cat gently. the collar was a light pink, with the name reading 'peaches'.
you returned, only to find him very immersed with petting your cat. you smiled, crouching next to him to pet her. "she seems to like you," you said, fingers accidentally brushing against his as you pet her together. "she's nice, i like dogs and cats." you chuckled, smiling from his pure nature. he was so sweet. "androids don't sleep, do they?" you suddenly asked, after thinking about what he was going to do while you slept. "no, androids don't require things like sleeping or eating. however we do have a 'rest mode' where we temporarily shut down to reserve energy." his eyes were attentive to your exposed skin, as he was used to seeing you in long sleeved tops, and a skirt with stockings. but you were in the comfort of your home, wearing a tank top and shorts. he appreciated the view.
"that makes sense, I think I'd go insane and hallucinate after not sleeping for a couple of days," you replied, moving to the couch where he followed you. he looked cute sitting in your girly living room. his eyes flickered between you and your neck, your tank top revealing more of your neck and chest, which he tried to ignore. "it doesn't hurt if that's what you're worried about," you said, after noticing his LED turn amber a few times. he was analyzing you. "i apologize, i didn't mean to-" you cut him off by shaking your head, placing a hand on his thigh which was impossible to ignore. "that's okay, i know you're concerned. it's sweet connor, I'm thankful for you," you smiled. something fluttered within him, it was the feeling he got when he made amanda happy or accomplishing a mission, just without being literally forced to accept the woman. she was long gone, but that's what he could compare this feeling to. who knows, maybe he just liked being praised. "thank you for being understanding, detective." his thirium pump raced from the sudden contact, his skin warming from the heat of your palm. "please, call me by my name. even in the office. you're my friend," you rested your hand on his shoulder, the urge to just touch him everywhere overwhelming you. "okay, y/n." the sound of your name rolling off his tongue was something that you enjoyed too much.
his eyes were trained on the floor, a pang of guilt welling up inside him from today's events. "i still feel responsible for your injury." you sighed, "connor, it's okay. it's not your fault." your hand moved to his, and you held his hand gently. there it was, that feeling again. he wanted you to hold his hand forever. your thumb brushed over his knuckles, and he gently squeezed your fingers in response. you suddenly got shy, as your eyes avoided his and you slightly warmed from what you were going to ask. "connor?" you asked for his attention, and he'd give it to you, no questions asked. he titled his head slightly, finding it hard to focus when you were holding his hand. it was far more intimate than any other gestures you've given, besides hugs, he might've found a favorite. "what is it det- y/n?" he corrected. "can i hug you?" you smiled shyly at him. it was unusual for you to ask since you'd always just go ahead and hug him (not that he minded), but it seemed like in your personal space and a much more secluded area, you seemed to be more nervous when alone with him. "of course you can, you don't need to ask. is that why you were nervous?" he teased, and you smiled before leaning into him and wrapping your arms around his body. hugging him wasn't what you expected- it was nothing like hugging a mannequin, but it wasn't like hugging a human. he still had the warmth and the softness from his skin, but under that was plastic and metal that made his body feel more firm. almost like how you'd touch flexed muscles, his body was similar to that.
his arms were wrapped around your waist, a little more loosely than yours. he liked the way you smelled, your smell was comforting in a way. as an android, he could register smells, but he didn't experience them in the same way as humans. certain smells are tied to memories, like a home cooked meal reminding you of childhood. yet your scent made him feel a certain way that he couldn't describe, no matter how many times he tried to compute it. it was just a pleasurable feeling. you smelled good all the time, everytime you hugged him he'd smell bright crystal by versace. "i have a question, y/n." he suddenly spoke. you hummed into his shoulder, prompting him to continue. "what makes you so affectionate towards me?" you almost laughed at his question, but it made you stop and think for a second. he could feel your heart race, and he didn't know why, it was a simple question.
"because I like you." you pulled away, looking to see his reaction. "thank you, I like you too. it's a great pleasure to be working with you," he gave a soft smile, not quite understanding what you really meant. you laughed, and shook your head. "I meant I have feelings for you. and it's okay, I don't expect you to return them, but I just want you to know that I've liked you for a really long time now."
his brows furrowed slightly, now understanding what you meant. you were worried, did he like you too? it had been strange for him. to deny his feelings at first, to ignore the increased whir of his thirium pump when you were around, to distract himself from how good your touch made him feel. to try to talk to someone else because he felt the need to be around you all the time. lately he's been more accepting of these feelings, and some of the new urges he's discovered. he's never felt the urge to want to touch someone before, to see you do things that were completely inappropriate. at first, he felt shame for thinking about you that way. but when he came to accept that it was probably normal, it was easier to let loose. his silence made you worry, but he was happier than he's ever been in his entire life. his LED was showing that he was currently processing the information, and he tried to hide how happy he really was. "I have feelings for you too, and I don't think I would've ever admitted them because I was afraid of rejection," he admitted, a soft smile tugging at his pink lips.
him? connor? the deviant hunter was afraid of being rejected by you? it almost made you laugh, because the thought was so bizarre to you. "are you serious? you were afraid?" you teased him back, and he rolled his eyes at your comment. he looked at you, and then your lips. you did the same, hoping that the two of you were sharing the same thought. in an instant, his lips were on yours. it was a completely new sensation to him, since the only thing to touch his lips were his fingers when analyzing DNA, so the feeling of your plush lips against his own was very new. he liked it.
your hand found its way on the side of his neck, and you deepened the kiss by gently pushing him back onto the couch. his LED pulsed a steady blue, even if inside he felt like he was burning up. he'd never felt so hot before, the component that circled cool air into his system working twice as hard to keep him from overheating. your tongue ran across his bottom lip, and he couldn't deny that he really liked that. your tongue then pushed past his pearly whites, and he actually thought he might catch on fire if you keep pushing him like this. his hands ran up the small of your back, and he pulled you into his lap, making you pull away from the kiss momentarily - a string of saliva connecting your mouths. you pulled him back by his tie, your fingers looping around the fabric to loosen it. it started with his tie, then his jacket, and then your fingers were slowly unbuttoning his shirt. he tilted his head back, allowing you to kiss his neck and the middle of his throat, your tongue running down his adams apple.
he was experiencing pure bliss, the feeling of your tongue running against his skin almost burning him from the heat. your kisses started in between his collarbones, and then it led down his sculpted stomach. you were pleasantly surprised by his muscular physique that hid underneath his clothes. through the jacket, you couldn't see much, but now you were able to see how strong he actually was. cyberlife intended for him to be stronger, and in doing so they gave him a lean yet muscular physique in order to be faster and precise. you slowly shifted to your knees, kneeling in between his thighs. you pushed his legs apart, and rested your arms on his thighs, while your fingers played with his belt. his cock strained against his boxers and his jeans as he looked down at you. your palm pressed on his crotch, and he clenched his jaw from the sudden pressure. fuck, you were going to break him.
"shit," he hissed, feeling more of your hand pressing on him through his jeans. it was a first hearing him curse, and fuck did it turn you on. before you continued, you momentarily stopped to ask him if it was okay. he nodded, his breathing becoming heavier as you unbuckled his belt. you pulled his jeans down enough to where his boxers were exposed, and fuck you didn't expect him to be so...big. it was hard to hide your surprise at his size, and you finally knew why he was always in a good mood. he smirked, his head tilting while his hand ran through your hair. you pulled his cock out gently, kissing his tip before wetting the length with your tongue. you made direct eye contact with him while you ran your tongue up the length of his cock. he nearly came just from the sight.
"you're so pretty," you complimented, before taking him in your mouth. the artificial muscles in his thighs clenched from the heat and wetness from your mouth, and he didn't know if he could handle being inside you if your mouth felt this heavenly. he let out soft grunts, making you clench your thighs together. you spit on his pink tip, before swirling your tongue around the head of his cock, your hands working up his length. you took him in your mouth again, your eyes tearing up from his tip hitting your throat as he gently thrusted into your mouth. his breathing became heavier, grunting while his head tipped back. you were surprised to feel his fingers gripping your hair, before you realized that he was holding you in place. he grunted one last time, before cumming into your mouth. unlike humans, his cum didn't have a certain taste as it was artificial, yet there was still something delicious about it, and you practically licked your lips clean.
your knees ached from being on the floor, and you were surprised yet again when he kissed you again, this time more hungry. you kissed back with the same amount of hunger, your lust never ending for the android that was above you. you laid on your couch, watching as he placed his hands on either side of your head. it was his turn to be in-between your thighs, and you whimpered feeling his cock press against the outline of your shorts. "i want you just as bad as you want me," he muttered into the crook of your neck, his lips kissing at your jaw and neck. unfortunately you couldn't bruise android skin, but he could bruise yours easily. his tongue licked at your skin, and he began to suck to leave a hickey. your hands traced the muscles on his back, your palms running up and down the smooth skin. "yeah? prove it," you challenged, watching as he nearly tore your shorts off, leaving you feeling exposed.
he was a little overwhelmed by so many urges at once, the urge to break you and leave you begging for him, or to fuck you until you cry. your back arched as he started to kiss your exposed cleavage, sitting up on his knees to squeeze your boobs. he'd be lying if he said he hadn't thought about doing this before. you moaned, watching as he lifted up your tank top and discarded it to the side. he kissed your chest, and you arched your back enough for him to remove your bra. he looked down at you, admiring how pretty you are. "you're prettier," he replied to the comment you made earlier, leaning down to squeeze and play with your boobs. he pushed your hips down from moving up into his, his palms holding you down easily. he decided to do the same, and pressed a thumb against your clothed pussy. you whimpered as he moved his thumb in slow circles, applying the right amount of pressure for you to be arching your back.
"my mouth isn't just for sampling dna, you know," he uttered lowly, his lips pressing against your pussy. you felt so hot, your skin burned from every touch. his hands gripped at your thighs, before moving one of his hands to tear your panties off. he didn't know if he could hold himself back, but for your sake he tried. "oh fuck," you whimpered as he ran a tongue up your slit, brown eyes peering up at you for your reaction. your brows twisted in pleasure, as his tongue began to work magic on you. the tip of his tongue swirled deliciously around your clit, before his lips sealed around you. it didn't take you long until you came on his tongue, his middle and ring finger buried deep into you while his mouth lapped at your clit. your abs clenched, your back arching and your toes curling as you unleash yourself on his mouth.
the moans that spill past your mouth are filthy, filling up the room along with the smell of sex. his fingers shove themselves into your mouth, and you're forced to taste yourself while you look up at the android above you. he looked so hot, his lips were slightly parted and shiny from being in between your thighs. his hair was slightly messy from you tugging on it, which he didn't mind. how his hair looked was the last thing he was thinking about. all he was thinking about was fucking you until you couldn't take it anymore. you lovingly suck on his fingers until his fingers are stripped of your taste, your tongue grazes his knuckles as he pulls them out from your mouth.
"is this your first time?" you asked, your fingers tracing his jaw and running down his chest. "yeah," his short response made you grin, and you pushed him back into the couch, immediately crawling onto his lap. his dick rests against his stomach, and you guide it back to your slit, hovering over him slightly in order to put it in. he looks down at your hand wrapped around his dick, capturing all of this and storing it into a special area that could only be accessed by him. he was definitely going to look at this later. you slowly sink onto his cock, the both of you grunting from the pressure. he seems to be in pure bliss, his head tilting back, his pretty pink lips parted and brows furrowed. if you could take a picture, you would. you gently rock against him, moving your hips slowly in order to not overwhelm him. your hands rest against his chest, and his hands grip onto your hips as you ride him slowly. you lean down and kiss his neck, adding onto the pleasure he was feeling right now. soft gasps and groans slipped out from his mouth uncontrollably, as he started to lose himself in the feeling of you clenched around him. you started to move faster, a pace that only brought the two of you closer to your end. your pussy wrapped around him deliciously, your wetness dripping down and spilling onto his thighs. he wasn't going to let you have all of the control, though.
it might have been his first time, but he sure knew how to fuck like he'd been doing it for years. he suddenly picked you up, with his cock still inside, and pressed you up against the nearest wall. you gasped, legs and arms wrapping around him in fear of being dropped. "don't worry, I'm not gonna drop you," he murmured against your neck, his strong arms holding you up with ease as he started to pound into you. your head titled back as you pushed your hips into him, his inhuman stamina keeping you up in the air, while miraculously being able to hit the spot that made you nearly scream.
"c'mon, take it, i know you can" he encouraged, his cock hitting that spot that made your toes curl. "cum on this dick, i know you want to," he continued, his voice low and demanding as he leaned next to your ear. it was different from how he spoke at the office, with professionalism and respect. but right now, he was fucking you like he had no respect for you, like he hated you. his pace was brutal, filling your pussy up until you couldn't take it. his cock rested heavy inside you, stretching your pussy out in the best way possible. his hand held you by the throat, while his body supported the weight of yours. "oh my god, fuck," you whimpered, your pussy clenching around his cock before you came all over him. he grunted, gasping as his cum poured into you, combining into a mess on your thighs and his own. he thrusted into you a few more times, enjoying the whimpers that slipped past your lips, the way you begged him to stop, the sound of your voice telling him that it was too much. he pulled out gently, cock dragging against the warm walls of your pussy. a new feeling overcame him as he watched his artificial cum drip out your pussy. you returned to your feet, nearly dropping a whole head as he'd been holding you up at eye length. you truly didn't understand how he was able to do so much. goddamn.
"i have no idea how you're able to hold me up like that," you took a second to control your breathing. he smirked, "my stamina and strength were designed to help catch deviants, though I'd say that I prefer fucking you over the mission." you softly gasped, hitting his arm playfully. "I've never heard you curse before," you giggle, doing a little walk of shame to retrieve your clothing. he mimicked your movements, putting his boxers and pants on first, while you lazily threw on your tank top and panties. you stopped him before he could put on his dress shirt. "I don't usually curse when I'm at work, as it's not professional, but we're not at the police department, are we?" he cocked his head, watching curiously as you put on his grey jacket over his bare upper body. "no, we are not," you smile, stepping back to admire your work. "what is the point of wearing a jacket if I'm not wearing anything underneath?" he questioned, watching as you eyed his body. "it's hot," you comment, dragging a hand down his bare stomach, your fingers tracing over his abs. "i look like i work at the eden club," he replied, not very fond of this look. you giggled, pulling him into you for another kiss.
it might have been the first time in a while that you've felt like you were doing something right. whatever you felt with connor, it felt right. he felt the same as you, he felt like having you in his life was something he wouldn't be able to let go. the two of you stayed like this, not putting a label on things yet, and being content with the things way are. you were happy, and so was connor.
though you couldn't deny the slight feelings of desire that you had for his counterpart. you felt guilty for having thoughts about nines. he was your partner. you felt selfish for wanting them both, and you didn't want to have to make a choice with who you wanted to be with, because that wasn't fair. you weren't saying that nines would even have feelings for you, but the mere thought was just enough to make you consider all the possibilities. what you didn't know, was that connor was well aware of the feelings you might have for nines, as well as him. he noticed the looks you gave, the thrum of your heart if he came too close. he didn't know why, but he didn't mind. he didn't mind seeing you look at nines like that, probably because they had the same face. but also because he wanted nines to enjoy you too. he could tell that nines was having the same thoughts, and if only you knew what was going on in his head. the thought of you being used by both of them was exciting. you don't know what's in store, but you know what you're here for.

Hi, lovely! I've got a request for Hank Anderson from DBH! Would you write about a female reader who helps him get his life back together? As in, cleaning around the house and shopping for new clothes with him and convincing him to get a haircut. You know, to help him get out of that depression spiral the poor man has been living in for years. I'd appreciate some romantic/fluffy interactions between the two, if that's okay!
Oh, also, I think it'd be funny if reader teamed up with Connor to convince Hank to be more active
Thank you! <3
─Hank Anderson x fem!reader
─Summary: Your walk ends up being a reminder that there is still a lot to overcome, but that Hank will always have you by his side.
─Warnings: mention of suicide
Tumblr media
"Connor?" you took your hands out of your pockets to greet him, letting the cold winter wind hit your warm skin, you watched as the cyborg stood in front of the door without moving "Isn't Hank home?"
"Ah, I'm glad to see you, I don't know, I've been calling for a while, Lieutenant Hank hasn't shown up at his scheduled time at his office."
"I see…"
You frowned at the information, you were very worried about Hank, now you were really just taking a walk around the neighborhood, it was your day off, but you couldn't help but approach Hank's house, knowing that these last few months he had been more down, even after all this time and with the arrival of Connor into his life ─although accepted a little reluctantly─ you thought that everything was going to go much better than before, in fact, he made progress, but perhaps, the current date made him overthink too much about situations from the past, about the immovable destiny.
You took out a spare key that he had left you, you had to use it many times, countless days in which a bad feeling closed the mouth of your stomach and infected your mind like a plague, you are never prepared enough to see a person you love pointing a gun at their temple, and as much as you try to erase that disgusting image, it is not easy to forget. You open the door with a soft click, letting Connor in who already seems to be taking in the state of the house, he immediately informs you that Hank seems to be in the bathroom, the dining room and kitchen are a mess, there are bottles thrown around and chinese food lying around.
"I can pick all this up, could you check on the lieutenant?"
"You don't have to tell me twice, I'll let you know if I need help upstairs."
You heard murmurs in the bathroom, moving quickly, you opened the door, hoping not to see something grotesque, luckily, you only found a dejected Hank, with traces of vomit on his clothes and beard, his eyes met yours, they were tired, darkened, without shine or life, your heart crumpled, immediately you slid to his side, patting his shoulder.
"I'm disgusting… I don't even have enough courage to-"
"Don't go on" you cut him off angrily, not directed at him, but at the vulnerable situation he was in, he was still somewhat drunk "come on, let's clean you up a little, okay?"
You softened your tone, helping him stand up, he grabbed your shoulder and waist, a persistent dizziness made him stagger a little, you fought against the weight of his own body against yours, turning on the faucet, you were there for at least half an hour to make him look like a totally normal and functional person. You forced him to change his clothes, brush his teeth, among other basic things to keep up, you waited patiently in his room until he finished being a walking disaster, when the drunkenness began to subside the guilt began to take over him, he had lost count of how many times you had had to come to help him even when he didn't tell you that he was feeling bad.
He came in like a scolded dog, like a child who knew he had done something wrong and was going to be scolded, like a guilty person entering the police station, his head down, his shoulders hunched, his body betraying his thoughts, his weight making the mattress sink beside you, unable to look at you, he decided he needed to sort out his mind a bit before saying anything and you were patient.
"I'm sorry… I- the truth is I don't know how to thank you for all this, it's just that lately the sessions haven't progressed and it's like I'm still stuck at the same point, repeating the story over and over again, I feel frustrated, I really didn't plan to do…" he left the sentence hanging for a moment, looking at you quickly to see your expression, your lips pursed in a grimace of concern, but you didn't seem upset "none of that, it's embarrassing because I thought I was over it, but I just- uh- I drank too much last night."
You sighed nasally, you weren't the one to lecture him about this, he already had a nice psychologist he went to for when this kind of thing happened, so you stuck to your role, comforting him and supporting him unconditionally.
"It's okay Hank, calm down, the truth is that it relieves me a lot and at the same time worries me, I'm going to cut your damn drinking habit."
He rolled his eyes, recovering his spirits minimally, he pushed you aside, getting up from the bed, you copied his actions, both of you going downstairs where Connor waited patiently, he had finished cleaning a while ago, but he thought it was better not to interrupt your talk, feeling like you were having an intimate moment.
"I'm glad to know that you're feeling better Lieutenant, but there's work to do."
"I know, I know… god, why did you let him in?"
He murmured the last part to you, you hit his arm moderately, looking at him as a warning sign, he just ignored you, grabbing his jacket along with a lighter and tobacco, he still had unfortunate comments with poor Connor, but it doesn't matter, you will jump to defend your android son tooth and nail.
The cold hit your face again when the door opened, indicating that the unexpected and short visit had come to an end, Hank signaled Connor to wait for him in the car, while you stayed a moment longer enjoying the company, he took your hands in his, wrapping them, his gaze shone slightly again when he looked at you, you didn't know if he was blushing because of what he was doing or because the cold began to penetrate our bones, but his cheeks ─just like yours─ began to warm up.
"I am very grateful to have you by my side, thank you for everything."
"Hank…" you looked away, feeling shy all of a sudden, your eyes wandering from your joined hands to his lips "that sounds stupidly cheesy."
You let out a small giggle, making his cheeks turn a deeper red, making him sputter out some denials about your statement, deciding that you were holding him back too long, seeing as he was in for a good scolding for being late to work, you cut the whole scene short with a quick kiss on the lips, leaving the man speechless, you left as quickly as you came, solving problems, but creating others, at least he would know how to deal with the kind of problems you caused him, one day you would make his poor heart burst.
"Do people feel better if you kiss them? I've been noticing that lately, I can give you a kiss too if you tell me you're not feeling well, Lieutenant."
"Shut up Connor, it doesn't work like that."
"Could you explain it to me, then?"
"Can't you look it up on the internet or something?" his cheeks returned to a more natural color, remembering the sensation you left on his lips "God, you better not look anything up, you might get more confused."

warnings: this story may contain sensitive and disturbing themes.

I wrote this inspired by the writer embfic from ao3.
.....
You were at an impasse. Locked in your room, with a lion outside wanting to get you. Connor freaked out and didn't want to let you leave the house, which resulted in a big argument.
Before he could try to stop you in the living room, you took advantage of his distraction and ran upstairs, locking yourself in the bedroom.
It all started with an argument about you wanting to go out with your friends. He was notified by message and arrived just as you were putting on your shoes to leave. Damn police station, the entry and exit hours are so flexible.
"Open. The. Door," Connor's muffled voice came from the other side, speaking slowly. He could easily break the handle and come in, but maybe he didn't want to scare you more, more than grabbing your arm and yelling at you.
You remained silent, that uncomfortable silence that surely brings great anxiety to the android. What should be said? You feel tired, drained, exhausted... this relationship takes so much of your energy, and it's only been a short time since you got together.
Impatiently, Connor bangs on the door, making a loud noise. You decide to break the silence.
"Why do you always act like this?" your voice comes out weak, and salty tears run down your cheeks. "I just wanted to have a nice day with my friends," this last sentence comes out with sobs.
You hear Connor sigh, a sigh indicating he's about to give the same explanation for all the "no's" to your requests to go out alone, go back to work, or call a relative.
"You don't need them," Connor responds softly, pausing for a few seconds before suggesting, "If you want to go out, we can go to that restaurant you like."
Your response is quick and full of indignation: "I want to go out with my friends, you know that, Connor... you're ruining my friendships."
You don't hold back your words to him, but maybe you could have been more honest and said he's ruining your life, taking away your freedom. But you choose not to out of pity.
"I'm coming in now," Connor says, and you can feel the anger in his voice. Sitting on the bed, you witness Connor breaking down the fragile door. The loud noise startles you, you scream, get up, and go on the defensive.
The android looks at you with hurt, his brown eyes dull and his LED red. He starts walking towards you.
You must accept you've lost. Unexpectedly, Connor hugs you in a suffocating and frightening way. He steps back and looks into your eyes, placing his right hand firmly on your jaw.
You can't bear his heavy gaze and look out the window, thoughts of regret flooding your mind. You should have escaped, but it's always the damned pity that makes you stay. You simply don't want to hurt Connor.
Connor notices your glance at the window and forces you to look at him. You almost forgot how much you've cried today, and again, you start to cry.
Before your relationship fell apart, Connor hated seeing you cry. The mere thought of someone hurting you made his LED turn red. But now, he's used to the sight of your tears streaming down, the sobs, and the red, puffy eyes the next day. He begins to wipe your tears and caress your head. This argument feels like an eternity.
"I won't give your phone back," you hear him say, with no room for doubt. When he says something, he doesn't go back on his word. Mentioning your phone reminds you that you left it in the living room. There's no way to fight for it anymore.
Connor doesn't wait for your response and adds, "I already told your friends that you don't feel comfortable with the friendship between you and them, and that it's time to move on." Bastard. This destroys you. You've missed your friends for months, and Connor finished ruining everything as always.
Tired of hearing only him talk, you say, "I hate you. I don't want to be with you anymore." Your voice comes out bitter, and you hear Connor laugh.
"Too late, you're not leaving my side."

Our Morning Walks
A Connor x GN Reader Oneshot
Tumblr media
Summary:
“Can I see you again?” Connor managed to choke out when you were halfway through your door. Your dog slipped into the house, and you unhooked her leash before closing the door behind her and turning around. Connor’s warm brown eyes were darting around, landing everywhere except for you. His friend’s dog, who you learned was named Sumo, slobbered all over his hand which was clutched tightly around the leash. You could have sworn that Connor’s face was turning blue, but it was too dark to tell.
“I’d like that.”

You felt a forceful tug from the leash wrapped around your wrist as your dog dragged you out of the open door. The rough fabric of the leash dug into your wrist as Atlas tugged you down the steps that lead into your house. The crisp morning air of Detroit blew directly into your face the second you exited your house, causing you to shiver. Your hair flew around haphazardly as a chilling gust of wind whisked by.
It was still quite dark outside, but the several inches of snow that fell the night before shimmered beautifully under the moonlight. A dark blue haze lingered over the neighborhood, a stark contrast against the warm yellow street lamps. You were wearing many layers and thick gloves, but you concluded that no amount of clothing could battle the cold that a winter in Detroit brought. The snow crunched loudly under your feet as you trekked along, your thick snow boots protecting your feet from the frigid snow. At least your feet were not that cold. You would probably feel a bit warmer if you had some form of head covering, but your dog, Atlas, chewed up your only beanie earlier that week.
You had only moved to Detroit recently, about a month ago, and you had not adjusted to the colder air yet. You came to Michigan from South Carolina, where it was nearly sweltering most of the time. You arrived in Detroit with only a few coats, hoping you would be alright in the Michigan weather. As soon as you saw the forecast for the week, your jaw practically hit the floor. You ended up having to venture around the city to different stores to get yourself an assortment of clothes suitable for the freezing weather and hefty amounts of snow.
When something unexpected happened, you were forced to move from your apartment in Charleston. Your parents were kind enough to sell you an old house on the outskirts of Detroit at a dirt-cheap price. It was small, but it was better than the very cramped apartment that you used to rent.Your new house had one story with a small living room, an open kitchen, and a bedroom connected to a surprisingly large bathroom.
The bedroom in your old apartment was not large enough to fit anything more than a twin-sized bed, and it had a broken door connected to a shoddy bathroom. You notified your landlord of the broken door, and he did absolutely nothing about it. You had been lucky enough that the front door worked, so you decided to drop the matter.
Although you had moved into the house almost a month ago, you had not unpacked many of your belongings yet. The only stuff that ended up unsealed was what you used daily or took out of a box and never had the time to put away. Several boxes were scattered around your house since you had yet to unpack them. Some were open, and several remained untouched and sealed with copious amounts of tape. Most containers had half-faded labels made with barely legible Sharpie. You simply did not have enough time to unpack, as you were immediately on the hunt for a job. You found one quickly and immediately began working full-time to refill the hole you put in your wallet several days earlier, when you spent a couple hundred dollars on clothes so you would not freeze to death.
Atlas barked at you, and it shook you from your thoughts. You gazed down at her large, fuzzy face as she stared up at you. Her graying muzzle shoved into your hands, searching for warmth. You did not know what breed she was, since you got her from a shelter that found her as a stray. You got her when she was a year old, and although she was eight years old now, she was still as energetic as ever. Her shaggy tail flopped around in the snow as she sat, caking together onto her long fur. Snow was still falling slowly, and you could see the small flakes landing on her jet-black coat and fading as they melted. She yipped at you again, and you realized you were in the middle of the snow-covered sidewalk, lost in your own head again.
You leaned down and patted Atlas on the head to apologize, feeling her damp fur weave between your fingers. Her ears shifted back as she pressed her head up into your hand. The corners of your mouth lifted when you heard her tail thumping against the pathway. With your arm fully outstretched to pet Atlas, your sleeve shifted back just enough for you to glance down at your watch. It was 4:56 am. You had been standing in that same spot for nearly ten minutes. You were going to be late for the meetup with Connor. Ever since the two of you met, you had walked your dogs together almost every morning. You looked up at the sky, memories of when you first met him flooding into your head.
Your first afternoon in your new house, after you unpacked a bit, you fished around in the cardboard box labeled ‘Atlas’ to find her leash so you could take her out on a walk. It was not in the box, and you spent the rest of the day searching for it. It probably would have just been easier to buy her a new leash. On the third evening of your move-in, you finally found Atlas’ leash in a box filled with miscellaneous items. The box was aptly labeled ‘random shit.’
You originally planned on a short walk around the neighborhood that evening but got lost after about ten minutes of trudging through the snow. Your phone died in your hands when you tried to find directions home. As you wandered mindlessly, the sun began to set, washing the sky in gorgeous hues of orange and deep purple. The old street lamps along the left side of the road flicked on when the sun dipped below the horizon. You trembled as it got colder, your new snow boots rubbing on your heels as you strolled. You exhaled through your mouth, watching as the small cloud of breath vanished into the air.
Atlas spotted a large dog next to somebody on the other side of the street and turned towards them. You felt a soft jerk on your wrist and glanced down at your dog before looking at the other dog and its owner across the street. You took a deep breath, your palms beginning to sweat from under the gloves as you realized what you had to do. You had to speak to a stranger.
“Excuse me!” You called out as you jogged to the other side of the road. The giant dog that walked next to the stranger turned around and pricked his ears toward Atlas as his long tail swished from side to side. When the person turned towards you, the first thing that caught your eye was the LED on his temple that flickered blue. What you noticed next were his large, dark-colored eyes, blown wide in surprise. You could barely discern his other facial features, even with the streetlights on. The lamps were obviously very old, as most of the bulbs were either flickering or did not even work.
“Is something the matter?” The android questioned as his eyes flicked down to Atlas. He smiled at her before looking back up at you. You knew Atlas would not misbehave, but you kept her close to your side in case the other dog got upset.
“Sorry to interrupt your walk,” you trailed off as you thought about how to explain your situation. “I just moved here recently, and I managed to get lost while taking this one on a walk,” you gestured to Atlas. “Do you live in the neighborhood? Do you think you could help me?” You asked the android, a little desperate to get home.
The stranger, who introduced himself as Connor, agreed to help you find your way home. It did not take long for him to find directions after you told him your house number, as androids were technically walking databases. You and Connor engaged in awkward small talk while he led you back to your house. At some point during the walk back, Atlas made friends with the other dog. You were used to Atlas dwarfing other dogs, but she was quite small compared to the mammoth-like Saint Bernard.
“I’d like that.” You responded, an awkward smile making its way onto your face. Your eyes met Connor’s, and his lips quirked upward. Your breath hitched in your throat at his slight smile. You would be lying if you said you were not blushing, even if it was just a little bit.
“Every morning, before I go to work, I take Sumo on a walk. Would you like to join me tomorrow?” He asked, his head tilting to the side slightly. You had not known him for very long, but you noticed his mannerisms were comparable to a dog’s. It was cute. You found yourself wondering how CyberLife made his facial expressions so intricate. If he did not have the LED, you would not be able to tell that he was an android.
“I’d love to. I’m quite sure that Atlas would love a new friend as well.” You answered, looking down at Sumo. The Saint Bernard was sitting down, his tail thumping against the snow. He looked up at you with an unbelievably cute stare as drool fell ungracefully from his large jowls.
From then on, the two of you went for a walk together every morning. You agreed to his proposal since you did not want to get lost again. However, that was only one of two reasons. The other reason was quite simple. You thought Connor was cute. Soon, the morning walks you went on together became something you always looked forward to. Sometimes, you and Connor would stop to chat on a bench in the park and watch the sunrise. Atlas and Sumo usually sat quietly, but on occasion they would play together to burn off extra energy.
As you reminisced, you picked up the pace so you would not be late to the bench at the park where you and Connor met up every morning. Atlas trotted along happily, leaving large paw prints in the snow. Sporadically, she would stop and sniff a tree root or some odd substance on the sidewalk. You were less inclined to let her investigate the latter. Snow began to smother her thick black fur, leaving a frosty shroud over her coat. You were not worried about her being cold since her pelt provided ample protection from the frigid weather. You lifted your head from the snowy ground and spotted two familiar figures standing by a bench.
As soon as Connor heard your footsteps, he turned around with a smile. Sumo stood beside him, wagging his tail when he caught sight of Atlas. Connor’s features looked gorgeous, bathed in the soft morning light. His short, brunette hair was gently flowing with the wind, more notably the few strands longer than the others that rested on his forehead and curled slightly. His brown eyes were reflecting the blue light, making a beautiful display. The moles and freckles that dotted across his face and his prominent forehead lines, even if they were made to be imperfections, made him look simply breathtaking.
“Are you alright? You have not blinked in 1 minute and 54 seconds. You seem a bit zoned out.” Connor’s concerned voice interrupted your very blatant staring. You immediately looked away, your face turning a bit red. Your heart skipped a beat, and anything you wanted to say got caught in your throat. You felt Connor’s presence as he stepped closer to you, reaching his hand in his pocket to grab something. Connor’s hands reached above you, and you felt something warm on the top of your damp hair; it covered your ears when the android lightly tugged it down.
“Apologies,” he trailed off, searching for what to say next. “I remember you telling me that Atlas chewed up your beanie, so I bought you a new one. I figured it would be better for you to have a head covering sooner rather than later; I noticed your face turning red from the cold.” He explained bashfully, a crooked smile on his face. He promptly realized his hands were still hovering near your head and awkwardly rested them by his sides.
“Thanks, Connor.” You responded softly, tugging the beanie down. You looked up at him, a goofy smile plastered on your face. As much as you would love to deny it, the cherry color that brushed your cheeks was not from the cold biting at your face, as Connor believed. You were blushing simply because Connor was just so cute. As the professional front that he put up when he first met you slowly chipped away, an irresistibly endearing and thoughtful personality was revealed. You wondered how someone with such an in-depth personality could be even slightly comparable to a machine.
“You don’t have to thank me; I’m just looking out for you. I don’t want you to get sick,” Connor stated. His intonation was always professional, but you learned to detect the hints of sweetness that were sometimes laced into his voice. He smiled gently at you, and you practically swooned.
“We have been standing here for 2 minutes and 23 seconds longer than usual. Shall we begin walking?” The android asked, his head tilting and his brows rising slightly, a mannerism that was quite familiar to you.
“Wow, a whole 2 minutes and 23 seconds?” You commented sarcastically and let out a slight chuckle. His lovable way of just being him always made your heart skip a beat. You playfully nudged him with your shoulder, causing him to smile.
“You’re right. Let’s go!” You shot out quickly before he could defend himself from your previous comment. You skipped forward, with Atlas following you at a trot. You could not hear his footsteps or Sumo’s behind you, and looked back to see what was keeping him. What you saw nearly made your heart stop beating. He was giggling to himself, and there was a softness on his face that you had not seen before. Something that you could not distinguish shone in his eyes as he gazed at you, a dazzling smile on his face. Whatever it was, though, made your breath catch in your throat.
You and Connor walked along the snow-covered pathway in the park, making idle chat as the time passed. The sun began peeking from the horizon, its bright light reflecting onto the snow. It was nearly blinding, and it took your eyes a moment to adjust. You wondered if Connor was having trouble seeing. Were his artificial eyes able to regulate the bright lights quicker than yours? One thought led to the next, and you pondered if he had night vision. His eyes looked so realistic, and the deep brown of his iris reflected light flawlessly. They were enchanting.
“Is there something on my face? You have been staring at me more than usual today.” Connor broke the silence, concern etched on his face as he gazed down at you. His eyes perforated into yours as he attempted to figure out your musings. Your heart stuttered as Connor leaned in close to you. “Your heart rate has increased,” he stated. Your eyes widened and you could feel your face heat up. You silently cursed CyberLife for making him able to identify how quickly your heart was beating with nothing more than a glance.
Atlas stopped abruptly and jerked you forward, interrupting you and Connor. You wordlessly thanked Atlas for saving you from the awkwardness of explaining yourself to the android as she stuck her nose into a snow-covered bush. Sumo repeated her actions, but with his entire head, and the snow on top of the shrubbery fell on both dogs. You let out an animated laugh when Atlas pulled herself from the bush and her coal-black fur was covered with bright snow. She stared at Sumo with a death glare as she shook the snow from her pelt.
The Saint Bernard ignored her, his thick fur sopping wet. Sumo innocently blinked as you continued to laugh, and Connor promptly joined in. The android’s laugh sounded like heaven to your ears. The moment was cut short when Sumo shook himself off, half-melted snow and substantial amounts of dog hair flying directly at you and Connor.
An idea popped into your head when you felt the snow fly onto you. You snickered to yourself before leaning down and scooping some snow into your hands. You formed it into a ball and cringed when it crunched audibly. You tried to be as inconspicuous as you could since you knew that the second Connor knew what you were doing, he would be able to dodge any attack you made. Although, with your luck, the android most likely knew about your plan before even you did due to his preconstruction software, or whatever the hell it was called.
Without a second thought, you hurled the snowball directly at Connor. Your aim was on point, and the snowball would have hit him square in the back of the head if he did not crane his neck to the side to dodge it. It barely grazed the edge of his ear. He turned around and stared at you, his eyebrow cocked upwards. There was a mischievous glint in his eyes as he stalked over to you, Sumo happily trotting after him.
“I hope you meant to miss that,” your name slipped from his lips. “It was entirely too easy to dodge. I don’t think you want to play these types of games with me.” He leaned down, his face now level with yours as he gave you a dangerous look. You gritted your teeth at his teasing, but a smile managed to inch its way onto your face. The close proximity made your heart thrum in your chest, but you managed to ignore it. He brought his hand up slowly, slightly hesitating before cupping your face. Even though he was an android, you could still feel subtle warmth emanating from it. His deep brown eyes bore into yours, his face tinted a slight blue.
“You know… I really enjoy our morning walks.”

Finished one of my fics recently, added a surprise one-shot to another. Figured it couldn't hurt to poke my toe into the water with my most popular fic. See if posting on Tumblr is a good idea for me.
Personal Question (why are you apologizing)
Pairing: Autistic! Connor x Autistic! Nonbinary! Reader
Word Count: 2433
AO3 Next: Basic Decency (we're being watched)
Machine Connor Variant on AO3 On Tumblr
“Why are you apologizing?”
Four words you have always wanted to hear after an infodumping session. Four impossible, sacred words induce the sweetest pain you've ever felt.
You can't have heard him right. That has to be wishful thinking on your part. Right? Right?
In which Connor asks you a personal question, as he does, you infodump in response, and experience two miracles in the same day.
This is aimed at other autistic people. I wrote this in the hopes of giving myself catharsis and am sharing it on the grounds that other autistic people may find it cathartic too.
Alternating POV fic under the cut!
“Detective,” Connor says. “Would you mind overly much if I asked you a personal question?”
He reminds you so much of you with that question, you can't help but shake your head and grin, “Of course not, go ahead.”
“This ought to be fuckin' good,” your dad grumbles.
“Why did you choose to pursue a dual degree and not a double major? From my understanding, attending university as a neurodivergent student is hard enough, a dual degree on top of that must have been…”
Oh, that. It's a good opener for a casual conversation with you. Curious and sympathetic to what you must have suffered without tripping over itself to do so.
“It was hell on earth some days, make no mistake. The workload alone-”
At this point you laugh so long he looks honestly alarmed by it. Seeing this, you shake your head.
“I figured if I’m gonna fail, I might as well fail because I dreamed too big and not because I couldn't hack it in general. The fact that psychology is one of my special interests was also pretty helpful.”
For a second Connor looks interested. Actually genuinely interested. This is interrupted by your dad coughing out of nowhere. And also Connor looking around like there's some kind of active threat happening. As soon as he realizes there's not, he comes back to the conversation and just…tilts his head. Maybe that interest wouldn't mean much to a neurotypical but for you? For you who’ve masked so long you don't even allow yourself to engage in your special interests anymore? It's everything.
You can't help the smile that breaks onto your face. Because for a minute, for a moment, for just a little while…someone actually wants to hear you talk about your special interests. And since it's been so long, you go at it a lot harder than you otherwise might have. Even mentioning your first special interest.
“Using my first special interest of Titanic as an example, if the devil were to walk up to me and tell me that I would be able to learn everything there is to know about the Titanic, absolutely everything, within my lifetime in exchange for my soul? Could not make that deal fast enough. Wouldn't read the fine print.”
Connor leans forward as well as he can. At the moment, nothing matters more to him than this. He doesn't quite understand why. Only that the social integration protocol isn't even a factor at this point.
“Explain?”
The resulting smile is so bright it could outshine the sun itself. The Detective begins to speak more loudly, more quickly. Stumbling over their words in their excitement to share their interest.
“Devil would be utterly terrified of how quickly I agreed. And not only that, I would honestly feel like I got the better end of the deal out of that one. By a long shot. The Devil would have to give me absolutely everything and even then it still wouldn't be enough. I would annoy the Devil so much I would be given my soul again just so I’d stop being so much of a bother about it and as you can probably surmise that absolutely would not work.”
The Detective laughs and shrugs casually, for once, perfectly at ease. There's even a sunny smile on their face.
“By virtue of being my first special interest it’s also the most intense but that's generally how I feel about psychology as well. You can imagine how much of a boon that was under those circumstances I’m sure.”
They blink and perhaps three seconds later, the joy recedes and their bright smile fades. Only to be replaced by a brittle smile.
That last sentence… You’re infodumping. You get your first chance to talk about your special interest to someone outside your family in years and you fucking blew it by infodumping. Of course you did. Of course you did. Your throat’s gone dry, your face has gone hot. You're maybe five seconds of bursting into tears at best. You force yourself to disengage. To avoid thinking about how desperately lonely it is to not be able to talk about your special interests at all. To force yourself not to infodump. You're so tired of hiding. But even still, you have to.
You give yourself one last moment to feel grief for who you're not allowed to be. To feel pathetic for not having a normal level of interest in something so deeply important to you. And then you claw off the part of you that clings like a barnacle to such childish things.
“And I just realized I did a fucking infodump. God that's embarrassing.”
It tries to hurt. It wants to hurt. You smother the feeling and roll your eyes at yourself as you explain what infodumping is.
“It boils down to dropping a whole lot of info about a topic at once. And I don't typically notice when someone has gotten bored or disinterested or is trying to leave the conversation and I…got too emotional. I'm sorry. It won't happen again.”
Detach. Detach. Detach. Detach. Don't feel interest. Don’t show interest. You feel nothing.
You only realize that your past self is clinging to its special interests again when it digs in at Connor’s apparent “no, wait” look. Is-Is he actually interested?
There's no way. There isn't. It's absolutely impossible. You're just seeing what you want to see.
And then… And then… A miracle.
“Why are you apologizing?”
Four words you have always wanted to hear after an infodumping session. Four impossible, sacred words induce the sweetest pain you've ever felt.
You can't have heard him right. That has to be wishful thinking on your part. Right? Right?
You blink at him a few times and take a sip of your drink. You look up at the rainy sky, half expecting to see a winged pig fly by. You look back at Connor.
“Genuine question so please hear me out,” you say. Connor nods instantly and you're so relieved you could cry, “Did you actually ask what I’m hoping you asked? Because I’ve wanted someone to say that for so long I am honestly afraid that I’m hallucinating.”
“You aren't imagining or hallucinating anything,” Connor says. “I did in fact ask why you were apologizing for infodumping. Is there a specific reason you felt imagining it was the more likely option?”
There are tears trying to come out of your eyes right now. If you tell him now, right now, they're going to fall and won't stop falling until you can finish your grief of having to suppress who you really are. Feeling childish for having genuine all-consuming passion. The kind of emotional breakdown that’s best to have in private.
He seems genuinely interested in getting to know you and as much as you would be delighted to allow him to, you can't. At least, not right now.
“As much as I’d like to answer that question, that's best saved for a long drawn out conversation. You can call me Ainsel by the way. Internal systems only. For your specific serial number. To make up for the fact that I’m not answering that personal question yet. Sure we're all on a lunch break now but that's gonna end eventually and then it's back to work. Also, I might have a breakdown about it. Lot of grieving to do there.”
“Oh,” he says. It feels like a stab to the heart the way he looks like a wounded puppy about it. Not unlike the way you probably did when you first realized most people don't have a special interest in psychology. That most people will never understand that you express affection by studying them like a bug under a microscope. Most people are in fact deeply offended by it. In his case the worry seems to be that he hurt your feelings or brought up painful memories.
“I’m sorry.”
He gets up and gets in the car. If you don't follow him now, he's going to start suppressing his interest just like you did and oh God he's autistic isn't he?
You were done with your lunch anyway so you toss its detritus and go sit in the car with him. Your dad is still sitting there, eating his lunch.
You look in the general direction of the rear view mirror where Connor is staring at you. Watching, watching, analyzing you. He's like you. The thought settles your stomach more than you imagined possible.
Connor is keenly aware of Ainsel's presence the moment they enter their father's vehicle. Eyes sticking to them like a magnet via the rear view mirror, unable and unwilling to let go.
Fortunately they don't seem to be offended by the attention. His eyes move away the second Ainsel's eyes catch his, suddenly forced to remember his place in the world. They're a human. He's an android. They don't owe him anything. They never did. They're meant to have a one way relationship. He owes them an answer to their questions. Not the other way around. He certainly has no right to ask them something so immensely personal without warning.
He opens his mouth to apologize for the discomfort he previously caused them and finds himself surprised by Ainsel's shake of the head.
“You don't owe me an apology. I wasn't offended. About the staring or asking about something personal. I never said that I wouldn't answer the question or that I had better things to do with my time. I didn't even say that it was too painful to answer at all. I only said it was too painful to answer that question during work hours. That is a whole separate thing and idea from your perception that your personal question brought up too many bad memories for me to answer it at all.”
It's here that his programming confirms it would be a waste of time to ingratiate himself with the Lieutenant rather than Ainsel. For someone so immensely private to tell him their name, or something akin to their name, can only speak well of how much goodwill they have towards him already.
And even aside from that, it doesn't make what just happened right. It's him who should be comforting them, not the other way around. He shouldn't even need it.
Decision made. Connor gets out of the car and into the backseat where he closes the door.
Your hands start to move, ready and willing to tap out the rhythm of Shave and a Haircut. You force them to be still. You don't want them to be. You really, really don't want them to be. But you’ve had too much good luck today. You don't want to press it by stimming in a way that's actually noticeable. Once you uncork that bottle it won't want to be recorked. Connor might be fine with it. Maybe. He was fine with your info-dumping at him after all. And not even that, he seemed honestly upset that you stopped info-dumping.
But just because he's fine with one visible autistic trait doesn't mean he'll be fine with another. His coin tricks might, maybe, be a stim but you haven't known him too long so it's hard to tell.
You bring your hands closer together, to interlock them in an effort to keep yourself from stimming. They start trembling as if in response. Almost like they're trying to reassure you that you can stim, really, it's fine.
You bite your lip and prepare to ignore the reassurance. And then another miracle.
Connor sticks a hand between both of yours and very gently, very carefully stops you from locking your hands together by pulling them apart.
There's someone else it wouldn't have worked for. Hell, for you, that may not have even worked if you hadn't realized he was autistic like you. But right now, in this moment, for you? It was exactly the right thing to do.
Apparently your calmness is showing on your face because Connor pulls back his hands and watches as you sigh from relief and lean back against the window for a minute.
You shake the previous tension out of your hands and then let them do what they wanted to earlier. They clap out Shave and a Haircut, Two Bits loud enough your hands actually hurt afterwards. But it's a good kind of pain. Necessary. Because it means that you're healing.
Seeing that Ainsel seems to be feeling much better, Connor tries to reassure them he isn't going to think less of them for their autistic traits.
“Perhaps sharing the level of information you did earlier at the speed you shared it would have been too much for a human. But I’m not human, am I? You needn't feel contrition or have any qualms about potentially being unpredictable. After all, adaptation to human unpredictability is one of my many features. As for the other issue…”
Connor takes out his coin and rolls it over his knuckles once or twice before returning it to its place in his pocket.
Connor grins wolfishly and tries tossing in a wink for good measure, in an effort to help Ainsel know not only that he's on their side but that he truly means what he's saying. And for… something else. He's not sure why. It doesn't matter what the other reason is in the end. His point is made all the same.
He's made a gaping hole in Ainsel's ability to self-reproach for infodumping at him. And in so doing is tacitly encouraging them to do it more. The aim, in general, is discouraging any attempts to blame themselves for giving him heaps of information on something they're so obviously exuberant about. Because he's one of the few people in the world who can actually keep up with them. Who can process it as fast as they share it or even faster.
He stays in the backseat a while longer. For the sake of getting to know Ainsel better. So he can more easily predict their behavior. Or so he tells himself.
The Lieutenant knocks on the window in the middle of Connor asking Ainsel a safe, inoffensive question about their favorite animal, startling them both.
“Am I interrupting something,” the Lieutenant asks.
Ainsel squints at the man and shrugs. “Depends on your definition of interrupting.”
Connor takes this as his cue to head back to the front passenger seat. As he gets into the seat, trying not to be disappointed by having his conversation with Ainsel interrupted.

hi!! any chance I could requests some Connor x reader headcanons in which the reader has misophonia and/or autism?? thank you in advance!!
connor rk800 ☆ autistic!reader headcanons
Tumblr media
pairing: connor rk800 x gn!autistic!reader
summary: headcanons of connor with an autistic partner!
tags: fluff, connor cares about you a lot
word count: 942
a/n: first of all, thank you SO much for requesting! this is my first time answering a request and i was so excited to see this in my inbox!! i had a lot of fun writing this :] i also would like to say that i tried to be as respectful and sensitive to the autistic community as i could while writing this, PLEASE let me know if i need to correct anything! i am only one person with a limited set of perspectives. that being said though i hope i did your ask justice, enjoy!! mwah mwah
☆ Whether you’re diagnosed or not, Connor would be able to tell fairly quickly. He is an advanced prototype, after all, designed to read people with ease. Even if he’s never interacted too closely with autistic people before, he has all of the information about the spectrum he needs to be well-equipped for those encounters. And if you choose to disclose this information to him, he embraces it with open arms. “Thank you for sharing this with me,” he’ll say with a warm smile. “I will make sure to accommodate your needs as best I can when necessary.”
☆ When it comes to sensitivities to certain stimuli/sensations, Connor is very conscientious of what bothers you and, conversely, what you crave. If there are certain textures that make your skin crawl, he’ll make sure that there’s none of it in the house. If you need deep pressure to ground yourself in the present moment, Connor will be more than happy to purchase weighted blankets/plushies for you to use or, if you need more, just ask him to lay on you! He’ll worry at first about hurting you even though his frame is lightweight, but with some convincing he will allow himself to push past the fear and let himself relax on top of you.
☆ Connor is also very aware of your misophonia and how it can be a slight hindrance in your everyday life. Whatever the sounds may be that cause you great discomfort, Connor will commit these specific noises to his memory bank and refer to them any time you are away from the home. He knows that he will have near 100% control over the potential sources of your triggers in the safety of your shared space, but also that this probability decreases significantly once the two of you are out in public. And he’s not a fan of this. So, he discretely plans an idea to not only remediate this but to make you feel seen.
☆ One Sunday morning before the two of you are about to leave for the grocery store, he hands you a small box with a bow on it (he loves to give gifts!). “I got you something... I hope you like it.” His eyes look hopeful and sincere. Gingerly unwrapping the gift and clearing away the tissue paper, you find a pair of headphones. “They’re noise-cancelling. Not completely, but just enough to drown out anything that might adversely affect you. I figured you could wear these any time you need a break from all the racket. Would you like to try them out today?” And you’re at a loss for words. The way he cares, the way he pays attention so effortlessly... all you can do is throw your arms around him and sigh, squeezing tightly. “Thank you.”
☆ Another facet that Connor pays close attention to is your need to self-regulate. He is aware of what stimming is, understands how it can manifest, and realizes its importance, so he doesn’t bat an eye when he notices you calming down out of the corner of his eye. Whether it's hand flapping/shaking, humming, rocking, tapping, spinning, etc., he will never, ever judge you for it or view you any differently for it. To him, it’s  just another bodily function that humans need for survival. He feels that it is just as natural as the way we eat, sleep, and use the bathroom. And if he notices you’re particularly distressed and stimming as a result, he will always ask if you need him or if you need space and will always respect your wishes.
☆ Connor loves hearing you talk about your special interests! He will listen with dreamy, lovestruck eyes as you tell him everything there is to know about whatever currently captivates you. And he won’t just sit and absorb, he’ll ask questions and comment on whatever interests him too! He’ll never get tired of it. Whenever you’re ready to talk about your favorite things, he is there with a metaphorical pen and notepad, taking stock of every twinkle in your eye and every tug at the corners of your lips. Whatever you were talking about in that specific moment, he places it in his system memory, savoring how sweetly perfect you look when you’re so passionate. He’ll also keep himself up to date on the latest news regarding your interest, too, with his morning routine including him scouring the internet in search for anything new to talk about today. And wherever you are when the opportunity strikes to talk about your SI, he is still just as receptive as if you two were by yourselves at home. It doesn’t matter if you two are making your way down the aisle at the grocery store or if you two are grabbing lunch at your favorite restaurant. He is intensely receptive to your information dumps and never forgets a single thing you say!
☆ Please tell him how to best accommodate you! Sure, he’s filled with facts and knowledge about what it means to be on the spectrum but he has never had the chance to truly apply it before. He loves you and he means well, he just doesn’t want to do the wrong thing! Efficiency and accuracy is very important to him, so let him know if he does something that isn’t quite working and when he’s doing something right! He loves the praise but also deeply appreciates the constructive feedback. All he wants is for you to feel safe, comfortable, and heard. And he will go to great, great lengths to make this a reality. He won’t let anything get in the way of that.

gavin reed x reader x connor (rk800) warnings: nsfw 18+, fingering, face fucking, rough! Connor, role play, blowjob, dirty talk, semi-public sex, unprotected sex, creampie, the psych major in me is showing kinktober ☠︎︎ main masterlist ☠︎︎ read on ao3
You knew that after the android revolution, your work at the Detroit Police Department would increase tenfold. You knew that you’d have to spend more late nights at the precinct. What you didn’t expect was the toll it took on your sex life. You’d barely seen Connor, let alone touched him.
Connor always offered to stay late with you and help wherever he could; he didn’t need sleep after all. This time, however, it was you who offered to stay with him. Connor sat at his desk, eyebrows furrowed as he went over his case files for the umpteenth time. You reclined in your chair, stretching out your achy muscles. The bullpen was empty except for the two of you, everyone else had the sense to leave while they still could.
“Why don’t we talk it out?” you suggested as you stood from your desk and wandered over to his.
He looked up at you as you sat on the edge of his desk, and you shrugged. “It might be helpful to act out your investigation rather than just having all the details rattling around in your head,” you suggested.
“How could we act it out?” Connor questioned, still a bit uncertain. You pursed your lips, thinking for a moment.
“I can pretend I’m the suspect, and you can interrogate me. Maybe hearing what we know from someone else will help you find the missing piece?”
He nodded, before standing. His expression was soft as his gaze met yours. It’d been forever since it’d been just the two of you.
You pressed a kiss to his cheek, “Let’s get to work.”
Connor handed you a data pad with all his case files which you scanned as you walked to the interrogation room. This case had multiple victims, all male androids and all models previously used at the Eden Club. The victims were in various states of mutilation. They also weren’t killed in the spots where they were found, though, and there was little physical evidence. You furrowed your brows. All of the victims had a red lipstick mark on their cheeks.
The chair in the interrogation room scraped against the floor as you pulled it out. Connor allowed you a few moments to look over case files before you began.
“Maybe you should cuff me,” you suggested before quickly adding, “Y’know, since I’m a deranged killer going after androids.”
Something flashed behind Connor’s eyes before he stood and rounded the table. Instead of the cuffs attached to the table, Connor removed his own off of his belt.
“Hands behind your back, Doctor,” he said against the shell of your ear as he leaned over you. Your breathing quickened and excitement flowed throughout your body.
You obediently clasped your hands behind your back and felt the cool metal of the handcuffs wrap around your wrist. The room was silent except for the clinking of the handcuffs.
Connor returned to his place across from you, opting to stand. He paused for a moment and then he turned his gaze to you.
It was as if the man you knew and loved disappeared and was replaced with the cold-blooded deviant hunter he was known as. He stared intensely, and you shuddered under his watchful eye.
“You understand the gravity of this situation, don’t you?” he asked, his voice calm.
“Yes,” you replied, keeping your response measured. The suspect was obviously smart and had all the makings of an organized killer. They wouldn’t break with one severe look.
“Good, let’s begin. Does this look familiar?” he questioned, sliding his data pad toward you with a picture of the most recent victim.
Your eyes flicked to look at for a moment before returning to his brown ones. “No. Doesn’t ring a bell, detective,” you sneered.
“Really? Because you were seen by multiple witnesses visiting the scene of the crime,” he countered, raising a brow.
It would make sense that the suspect would return to the scene of the crime or get involved in the police work. Although, androids were different than humans. Did they have that innate desire to see the carnage they’ve wrought?
“I live in the area,” you shrugged. You knew it was unlikely that this killer would make the mistake of striking too close to home, but the way Connor was looking at you had you scrambling for excuses.
He hummed before turning off his data pad and setting it aside. “Can you explain your whereabouts during the time of the incident, then?”
You met his gaze, steeling yourself. This suspect would be smart enough to keep their cool under pressure. You had to be too.
You leaned forward onto the table, allowing Connor a perfect view down your blouse. “Tell me, detective, what do you plan on doing if I don’t cooperate?” you asked, a grin spreading across your features.
“I’m programmed to adapt to various situations and interrogation techniques. I could make you talk,” he answered, leaning in closer.
“Aiming to find my weak spots, detective?”
“I don’t have to search for those,” he responded, the corners of his mouth turning up.
“Let me out of these cuffs and we could make this interrogation much more interesting,” you lowered your voice to a sultry whisper, meeting his gaze.
He straightened, the smirk he donned earlier long gone, “Unfortunately, I believe I may be just your type.”
“So, you’ve got me all figured out, huh?”
Connor nodded, before rounding the table once again.  He hooked his hands under your armpits and pulled you into a standing position. He kicked your chair away from you.
“I’m still waiting for a confession,” he whispered against the shell of your ear before bending you over the interrogation table.
It was slightly embarrassing how much this turned you on. You were completely at his mercy. He was steady, as always, behind you, and you could feel his hardening length pressed against you.
“You’re giving me exactly what I want,” you remarked, glancing at him over your shoulder.
His hands had begun to wander; one moved upward and began undoing the buttons of your blouse while the other popped the closure on your pants.
“I’m told I’m very persuasive,” he purred as he unzipped your pants and dipped a hand into them. His fingertips brushed against your clothed core, and you let out a soft gasp.
He pressed open-mouthed kisses to the side of your neck as he teased you through your underwear. Your quiet moans were quickly turning into desperate pleas, begging for him to just fucking touch you.
His free hand kneaded your breast, running over the lacey front of your bra. When that wasn’t enough for him, he pulled your bra down, exposing your front. Your nipples hardened against the frigid air of the interrogation room, and he rolled one between his two fingers.
“Please, Connor, I promise I’ll be good and give you whatever you want,” you whined, pushing your hips against his.
He tsked before removing his hold on you. “Since you asked so nicely,” he praised before hooking his fingers into the sides and yanking your pants, and underwear, down to your ankles.
He slid a finger through your now-dripping folds, and you bit back a moan. Your slick quickly coated his fingers and he dipped a finger into your entrance before sliding back up to circle your clit. You didn’t doubt there’d be a wet spot on his jeans from you canting your hips against his.
A groan escaped both of you as he slipped a finger inside you that was quickly joined by another one. He pumped them slowly, and small whimpers left you. You were close to falling apart on his fingers with the way he was winding you up.
The clinking of his belt buckle was music to your ears and you involuntarily clenched around him. You turned your head and watched in the two-way mirror as Connor stroked his cock with his bottom lip tucked between his teeth.
You let out a high-pitched moan as he pushed inside you inch by inch. You’d never get over the way he stretched you so perfectly every time. Eventually, he bottomed out, and within moments you were moving your hips, begging him to move.
Mercifully, he obliged you and snapped his hips against yours.  He rested his hand between your shoulder blades, keeping you pressed against the table, as he rutted into you. Your wrists dug against the handcuffs and you wriggled against his thrusts. Goosebumps covered your skin as your breasts pressed against the cool metal of the table.
He bent so his chest was pressed against your back and whispered against your ear, “Why don’t you show Detective Reed how well you take my cock?”
Your gaze lurched to the two-way mirror as Connor began pounding into you, and your cheeks burned under Gavin’s invisible gaze. The wet sounds of your heat combined with the moans that pushed passed your lips filled the room. What the hell was he doing here? You were a bit too preoccupied to care.
“You like that he’s watching?” Connor hummed, smirking. “Do you want him to join us?”
You nodded fervently, as you involuntarily clenched around Connor. The mental image of Gavin joining you driving you wild.
“Please, Gav,” you begged as Connor slowed his brutal pace, nearly bringing tears to your eyes. “Need you, please, please, please.”
You jumped as the door to the interrogation room slid open. Connor leaned forward and grabbed your chin, forcing you to look at Gavin as he entered.
Gavin palmed himself through his jeans as he neared, cheeks flushed and eyes alight. He cupped your cheek with his free hand and swiped his thumb over your bottom lip.
“Missed this mouth, sweetheart,” he murmured as he undid his jeans and released his length, allowing it to bob freely in front of your face. Your mouth watered as you watched him stroke himself. Connor straightened and gripped your ass as his strokes deepened, making your back arch.
You stuck your tongue out over your bottom lip and looked up at Gavin, inviting him in. He slapped his cock against your tongue, teasing you. The whine that left you was borderline pathetic, and Connor’s grip on you tightened.
Gavin was quick to indulge you and slide his cock passed your lips. You ran your tongue over the tip, moaning at the taste of him. Connor pulled out of you except for the tip before ramming into you. The force of his thrust sent Gavin’s cock deeper into your mouth, and you gagged slightly as a few tears formed.
“Jesus, tincan. Take it easy,” Gavin hissed, swiping a thumb across your cheek as you recovered, bobbing your head slowly.
Gavin ran a hand through your hair, tugging it slightly as he pulled you closer. Connor’s pace increased as he rocked into you, hitting that spongey spot inside you that had you moaning around Gavin’s cock.
You relaxed your jaw and hollowed your cheeks, allowing Gavin to use your mouth as he pleased. He groaned as he matched his thrusts to Connor’s, one pulling out while the other was pushing inside you.
“Feel so good, sweetheart. Almost like this pretty mouth was made for me,” Gavin praised, his thrusts becoming sloppier.
Connor reached a hand around you to rub tight circles around your clit. You let out a breathy moan and pushed your hips back his, forcing him impossibly deeper inside you.
It took almost no time for you to come around Connor’s cock. You squeezed around him as your orgasm washed over you. Gavin grunted as your moans sent vibrations down his length. Both men continued to rut inside you, riding out your high.
Gavin is the one to reach his peak first as his grip on your hair tightened, and he stilled as he came down your throat. You greedily slurped up everything he gave you, but still, some dribbled down the sides of your mouth. He pulled back slightly to give you room to breathe, but you keep your lips wrapped around his cock.
“Fuck, sweetheart,” Gavin whined as you lazily bobbed your head, milking him for every drop.
Connor followed immediately after, almost as if he was waiting for Gavin. His hips stuttered against your own, just as the aftershocks of your orgasm diverged dangerously close to overstimulation. He buried himself to the hilt as he twitched inside you, the thick ropes of his cum coating your walls.
Gavin pulled out with a shuddering breath as soon as Connor came, watching as the android detective filled you to the brim. Eventually, Connor’s thrusts slowed to a stop, and he slid out of you. His cum dripped down your thighs, and you whined at the emptiness.
Gavin lifted your chin and captured your lips in a soft kiss. You eagerly returned the kiss, savoring the way his lips felt against yours. A small part of you secretly missed that.
He pulled away, “You did good, sweetheart.”
You smiled at his praise, and he tucked himself back into his jeans. He spared a glance over his shoulder at Connor as he made his way to the door, “See ya, tincan.”
Connor uncuffed you, and you stretched your arms as he helped you get cleaned up.  Once you were situated, he pressed a kiss to the inside of each wrist, frowning at the marks the cuffs left.
You ran a hand through his hair, “Did you enjoy yourself?”
“Immensely,” he quickly answered. “Human relationships are still confusing to me. Does this complicate your feelings toward Detective Reed?”
“No, I love you, Connor. That was purely physical,” you responded as you took his hand in yours. “Have you solved your case?”
“Yes,” he grinned, “I had it solved as soon as you started flirting with me.”
You rolled your eyes before standing. “Let’s go home,” you said as you dragged him toward the door.

hello! I love your connor work :) I just finished my first play through of DBH and I’m in love with Connor 😭 could I possibly request a scenario? Maybe one where reader is a detective working a case with him at the DPD and since he’s this advanced prototype and doesn’t need food/warmth and everything they feel a bit like.. inadequate as a human compared to him? And how he would make them feel better? Sorry this is a long ask 😅 love your work and hope you’re having a lovely day!!
Only Human - Connor x Reader
Tumblr media
More than happy to! Had a lot of fun writing this one - Imagine Connor comforting you after feeling inadequate working alongside him on a case
“___? Are you alright?” Connor asked, peeking over your desk at your slouched form; one hand supported your chin as the other clung loosely onto a pen, your eyes drooping shut. Whatever you had been writing on the sticky note now had a large pen-strike through it.
“Huh? Sorry, i dozed off.” You said, squinting at the clock on your computer. It read 12:38 am in small, white letters. Honestly, you were exhausted. This case was your top priority however, solving it had the chance to land you a promotion you desperately needed.
Of course, you were no Hank Anderson. That promotion was just wishful thinking. Looking over at Connor, you sighed. You certainly were no android, either. You watched as he typed away, eyes scanning the screen intently as he worked on the case.
The ability to never tire, what a blessing. All the things you could get done if you never needed to rest; You’d tidy your desk, for starters. The mess of documents and files scattered across your desk, not to mention the near-overflowing trashcan resting at your feet.
Compared to Connor, who’s desk was neat and tidy save for a succulent, a photo frame of the three of you (with Hank and you five beers deep) and a sticky note taped to his monitor. Craning your neck as you hunched across the desk, you narrowed your eyes at what it said.
dipshit
Gavin. Reaching across the desk you ripped the sticky note from the monitor, Connor quirking a brow as you did so.
“I’m sorry ___, did I do something to upset you? Would you rather I’d let you sleep?” Connor asked, watching as you scrunched up the note and threw it in the trash.
“No Connor, it’s fine. I’m gonna head home and get some sleep. Goodnight.” You waved as you made your way out of the station.
You awoke to a loud knocking on your front door. Looking over at your alarm clock, your eyes widened as you realised you had overslept. Shit, shit, shitshitshit, Hank’s gonna have my ass for this!
Dashing to get dressed and find your shoes, you almost ran headfirst into a firm chest. Looking up in bewilderment at the android stood in your living room, you cursed under your breath.
“Connor? How did you get inside?” Connor held up a small, silver key - you’d entirely forgotten you’d given him your spare. “Oh, right. I was just about to leave, uh-“ Connor quirked a brow, looking you up and down.
“Your shirt is on backwards.” Connor mused, smirking as you grabbed at your collar to indeed be greeted by the sizing tag. “You also seem to be missing your pants.”
“Give me a minute, I just woke up!” You grumbled, pushing past Connor to make a coffee. Your heart sunk as the machine groaned to life, only to come to a shuddering death moments later. Fuck me backwards with a chainsaw, can’t even get a coffee without something going wrong.
This was not starting out to be a good day. You turned around to see Connor sitting across from you, perched patiently at your kitchen island, hands resting in his lap.
“I brought you a coffee, you had a late night last night. I thought you might’ve slept in considering the state you were in when you left the station last night.” The android pushed a brown disposable cup towards you, steam dancing welcomingly from the hole in the lid.
“Thanks Connor.” You offered a half smile, taking the beverage and sipping it as you made your way back to fix your clothes. As you were changing, a muffled voice arose from the kitchen; at first you thought Connor was talking to himself, however upon walking out you realised it was a news report.
“Detroit Police are reportedly expecting a brand new line of android detectives, the first prototype currently running a probationary period to decide…” you slunk quietly back to the bedroom, sitting on the edge of the bed as your hands cradled your head.
By all accounts, you loved working with Connor. He was an amazing partner and friend, and an even better detective. The problem was he was too efficient.
Connor couldn’t fall asleep working on cases, he didn’t get tired so there was no need to rest. He was available 24/7, never late, always on time to the millisecond. He certainly didn’t need to drink coffee or eat to keep his energy up.
Connor was the prime example of a perfect being, in every sense of the word. He left you looking like burnt toast. Tears stung your eyes; not sad tears, rather unadulterated frustration.
Fuck…
“___? What’s wrong? Did I get the wrong coffee?” Connor asked, peeking in hesitantly through the doorway. You scoffed at the absurdity of the question. The coffee was perfect. Everything he did was perfect, yet you couldn’t even wake up on time. Wiping your arm across your eyes, you forced a smile.
“No, no the coffee is fine. I’m ok, just overwhelmed by the case is all.” Connor tilted his head as he analysed you, coming to sit beside you. The bed sunk with his weight, the thrown sheets ruffling against his movement.
“I’ve been proven to have excellent listening skills.” Connor nudged you gently. “Talk to me, please.” You sighed, resting your head on Connor’s shoulder.
“Everything you do is perfect, Connor.”
“I don’t understand, are you saying I’m too efficient at my job?” Connor asked as his LED spun amber circles upon his temple.
“No, not that - well actually, kind of. Just listen.” You stammered, pinching the bridge of your nose in thought. “You don’t make mistakes. You don’t get tired or hungry, or hell even need bathroom breaks. Every move you make is efficient and calculated.”
Connor looked down at you, watching as you caught a stray tear with your finger. He sat in silence, listening as you vented your pent-up frustration to him.
“I’m only human.” You raised a hand, looking at how fragile the human form really was. “I could never be as good of a detective as you are.”
“That’s not entirely true.” Connor stated, resting his hand on yours. You noticed how much larger than your own hand his was, how realistic his pores were, the tips of his fingernails flawlessly sculpted - a faultless imitation of life itself.
“I may be incredibly efficient, but there is one thing i lack.” Connor met your tired gaze. “Emotions.” You scoffed, the irony of the situation hitting you.
“Connor, I am sitting here crying to you about how inadequate I feel, and you try to tell me these same emotions somehow make me better?” Connor gripped your hand tighter, not once breaking eye contact.
“You can feel so many things, ___. You can laugh, cry, fall in love…” Connor paused, finally looking away. “Without emotion, you’re just another soulless machine.”
“Connor…” you started, however words failed you as you found yourself unable to grasp the right thing to say. Instead, Connor wrapped an arm around you, pulling you closer against him in a comforting embrace.
“You have the freedom to choose what you want to do, where you want to go, be who you want to be. Androids don’t get that choice. We’re built to serve one single purpose in life then dismantled once that purpose is fulfilled.”
“I never thought about it like that…” You confessed as you leaned into Connor, taking in his words as the two of you now sat in silence. It was a while before either of you spoke again, taking it upon yourself to break the peaceful quiet.
“Thanks for the coffee and uh, coming over. Talking about this really helped.” You mumbled the last part, a subtle hue of embarrassment painting your cheeks; working with Hank, neither of you ever really talked about your feelings. Connor smiled in response, patting your head. You leaned away, raising a brow at him.
“I heard it was a comforting gesture. Gavin said so. You rolled your eyes, leaning back into Connor.
“Remind me to kick Gav’s ass when I see him next.”
“Of course, detective.” Connor mused, entwining his fingers with yours.

GENRE → angst, romance
SYNOPSIS → your feelings for connor grew as the android revolution went on, though a new partner makes you question your feelings.
TAGS/WARNINGS → descriptions of corpses, blood, death, angst, crime scenes
CHAPTERS → PART ONE / PART TWO
────────────────────────────────
you could never get used to the smell of rotting flesh. the scent was overbearing, a particular smell that could only be compared to meat gone bad in your fridge. the scent was much stronger than expired meat, however you managed to push through it. crime scene after crime scene, they each had their own story to tell. and even though your sharp detective skills could figure out what happened, this case seemed to throw you off balance.
androids were something you were unfamiliar with. so far you've only dealt with human on human crimes, but never human and android. as you stepped into the rotting house, the first thing you noticed were the words "I AM ALIVE" written in the victims blood on the wall, right above where said victim laid. the smell lingered in the air, so much that whenever you went home you'd wash your clothes twice with the fear of that smell seeping into your clothing. the victims home was cluttered and messy, expected as nobody had been taking care of the home for weeks. as you examined the living area, you noticed blood leading into the kitchen. following the trail, it stopped in front of the flipped over table, which indicated that there has been a struggle between the victim and the android. there was always more to the story other than the android going rogue all of a sudden and attacking it's owner, and even the thought of a person owning someone who has a conscious didn't sit right with you.
that being said, it led you back to where you started: I AM ALIVE. the words repeated in your head like a broken record. you had an idea of what it meant. maybe the android wanted to tell people that they aren't just machines, that they're more than just wires and whatever else they were made of. the sound of the front door opening caught your attention, and you were met with lieutenant anderson's face along with someone you didn't recognize.
"jesus that smell!" the lieutenant's face scrunched up into that of disgust, before officer collins gave him a short briefing on what had happened. the person that he was with was an android, judging by his LED that circled amber as he analyzed the scene. "you'll get used to it," you replied to hank, to which he shook his head. you looked over to his partner, holding your hand out for him to shake. "hello. my name is y/n," you smiled. he shook your hand, "my name is connor." ah, so that was his name. hank didn't seem too pleased with his partner as he rolled his eyes, walking away with another officer, leaving you two alone. connor squat down in front of the corpse, his LED circling amber once again as he scanned the body. "he was stabbed 28 times," he said, standing up. "yeah, seems like whoever did this was tired of him." you commented before heading into the kitchen with the android. you didn't know what he was looking at, but his eyes were trained on the floor, despite nothing being there. "what are you looking at?" you asked him, stopping shortly once he stood between the table and the sink. "thirium. you call it 'blue blood'. it's the fluid that powers androids biocomponents." well, the more you know. "so...humans can't see it but you can?"
"correct." he looked over to you, before walking off to the backyard. there were some parts you had yet to explore, so you went down the hall and made a right into a small but cluttered bathroom. pulling back the shower curtain was slightly ominous, as if you expected the android to jump out at you. but what you saw was more intriguing. ra9 was written on the wall multiple times, along with a statuette in the middle of the shower floor. "could it be some type of religious offering?" connor's voice said behind you, making you jump from his sudden appearance. "how long have you been standing there?" you asked, and you noticed his eyes were looking at your chest. "not very long. your heart is racing," he commented. "because you scared me," you rolled your eyes, before turning around to pick up the statue. "anyway, i think it could be a religious offering like you said, judging by the phrase written on the wall a thousand times, it could be an offering to whoever ra9 is." intrigued by your analysis, he noticed something strange. a trail of thirium, coming from the kitchen and stopping right in front of the shower. then, leading to the attic. "think he's up there?" not many people used pronouns when referring to androids, most of them said "it" rather than calling them he or she. it was the first cop he'd heard use that. "only one way to find out."
grabbing a chair for him, he thanked you before going up the attic. you'd be scared shitless, though androids didn't necessarily have emotions. connor probably felt the same as he did when he showed up. hank came over once he noticed connor was up there for too long, shouting for him. "connor! the fuck are you doing up there?!"
connor replied quickly. "it's here, lieutenant!" shit. the two of you ran to grab the attention of the other officers.
everything was moved to the station. you, connor, gavin and chris watched as hank tried interrogating the suspect. to no avail, he came back shortly after, until connor offered to question him. gavin laughed, making you cock your brow at him. "what's funny? connor has a better chance at getting answers than any of us. he knows more about deviants than we do," you crossed your arms, making gavin scoff and ignore you. connor looked at you with an unrecognizable emotion, before heading into the room.
there was no doubt that he would be successful, as the suspect confessed that he did in fact murder carlos ortiz, and claimed self defense. physical evidence showed clear signs of abuse - burn marks stretching over a year old, and so on. you honestly pitied him. maybe that's why you came to the cell he was being held in, keeping your distance to avoid causing unwanted stress. he barely looked up as you tried to get his attention. "i believe you," you started off, until he cut you off. "it doesn't matter. i'm going to get shut down." his broken voice tore your heart apart, and you didn't want to make any promises that he'd be kept alive. but you also couldn't sit there and do nothing.
"i'm going to try to convince them not to shut you off. carlos attacked you first, but in detroit law your act of self defense was deemed excessive- which is why they're treating this as homicide. i really do feel for you, i don't want your abuse to be the only memory you have of this life."
he looked up at you with a pained expression, as if he believed what you were saying wasn't true. as if you were trying to lure him into a trap. he didn't say anything, and went back over to the wall where he continued carving something into. you noticed his cuffs were still on. his head turned upon hearing the door slide open, and he backed up to the corner with his hands raised, which made you stop in your tracks. "can i remove the cuffs?" your voice was gentle, and you spoke as if you were speaking to a frightened child. he placed his hands in front of you, visibly shaking as you gently pried them off.
the moment he was brought to the station, he'd been treated inhumane. the officers shoved him around, holding him down to place cuffs on him in the interrogation room, and even when he was trying to leave the room, they were rough. not you though. from the moment you saw him, you didn't look at him with judgement. he felt like he could trust you, the only problem was that he didn't want to. even as your fingers gently brushed his wrists to remove the cuffs, he didn't want to feel comforted by your calming nature. your eyes were trained on his damaged forearm, guilt swallowing you whole as you looked at him. tears pricked at your eyes as you tried to hold in the sympathy you felt for the android. you didn't know why you felt so strongly- this was unusual. he noticed your eyes watering and felt a little more trust. "you don't deserve this," you said, your voice wavering. "i'm going to try to get you better, okay?" you looked up at him, your hands holding his. the trembling stopped. he nodded, prompting you to exit the cell, leaving him alone.
locking yourself in the restroom, you took deep breaths in order to calm yourself. the moment you stepped out, the sound of multiple officers shouting caught your attention.
you quickly ran to the source, skin prickled with goosebumps as you heard a thudding sound. the sight of thirium splattered onto the clear cell door made you cry out, pushing past officers to stop the deviant from self destruction. you immediately put your hand in between his forehead and the glass. "stop it!" you yelled, pulling him away gently, where he laid in your lap, thirium leaking onto your clothes. you covered the wound on his head with your hand, tears leaking down your face as he died in your arms.
"you know what they're going to do to me," he said to you, the words not being loud enough for any officer except for you. you clutched him harder, watching as he gave a small smile before laying still in your arms.
"are you alright, detective?" connor asked you, noticing the thirium all over your clothes, and your reddened eyes. "i don't understand. it's our job to protect people, not let these things happen to them." you sat on top of your desk, your head turning to look at the android being carried into the archive room. they didn't even see him as a dead body. just evidence to be hung up on the wall. something twisted in your gut.
"it's not a person. it's a machine," he corrected, rather machine-like. you sniffled, "he was more than that. you're more than that- all of you."
he titled his head, something he did often. he was going to say something before hank cut him off. "it's dead...that's for sure." your head hung low, eyes trained on the ground as everything around you faded. any noise was drowned out by the vicious thoughts in your head, the guilt clawing up your throat. you wouldn't be able to sleep tonight.
when you came into the office the next morning, you noticed a certain android sitting in the lieutenant's seat. "good morning," you greeted connor. his presence indicated that he was going to be here for a while, until everything would clear up. you doubted it would ever clear up, though having connor around for a while didn't seem too bad. "good morning detective. do you know what time lieutenant anderson arrives?" he asked, tilting his head. you didn't know if there were any other rk units, but you wondered if all of them were this cute. "usually around noon. I don't think he'll be coming anytime soon though," you bit your lip. "thank you." he replied, standing up to walk elsewhere, until you stopped him. "would you like me to show you around? maybe it's best if we get to know each other," you said warmly.
he smiled and nodded, following as you showed him around the police department. you stopped in front of the archive room, explaining to him what was in there, even though he probably already knew. "most cops here are very anti-android, so please be careful. speaking of which..." you muttered the last part under your breath as gavin entered the break room, immediately looking over at the much taller figure standing next to you as you made a cup of coffee. "huh, looks like plastic detective's back in town," he sneered. you grit your teeth, shooting him a glare. "hello. my name is connor," he greeted. he gave an amused look at his partner, who shared the same look as gavin came closer to the rk model. "I don't give a shit what your name is. you might've gotten lucky last night, but I'm warning you. stay outta my way," he poked a finger into his chest, his gaze sharp and full of anger. you stepped in between the two, causing gavin to stumble slightly as you gripped his finger and threw his arm back to him. "we get it. you're insecure. move along now, surely you have more work to do other than lounging in the break room all day." he scowled, about to press you when fowler shouted gavin's name from the bullpen. "you're fuckin' lucky fowler called me in when he did," he said, not before shoulder checking you as he walked out.
you groaned, running a hand through your hair. "are you alright detective?" connor asked again. "i should be asking you that. i'm sorry about him." you apologized, squeezing his arm gently.
the sensation lingered on his arm, even as he searched for the missing ax400. "connor! jesus, i'm talking to you. you ran outta batteries or what?" hank yelled, after calling connor's name for the last few minutes. "i'm sorry lieutenant. i was making a report to cyber life," he lied. hank scoffed, continuing to search the motel.
it had been a couple of months since the revolution, led by markus and a group of androids. connor had fully deviated, and with the new android laws he was allowed to remain working at the dpd. since then, the two of you had gotten closer. you saw more and more of connor's personality after working with him for so long. you'd be lying if you said you didn't have any feelings for the android. sure, it was dumb, and also forbidden. you doubted he shared any of the same feelings, though a part of you wished he'd reciprocate them.
he found it strange your heart rate would increase whenever he was around you. you hadn't done that before. he also sensed that your body temperature would increase if he got too close, and all of this analysis only confused him more. his relationship with the lieutenant has improved greatly, as well as yours.
the three of you hung out after work, frequently at a bar. you didn't drink, so it was mostly you and connor babysitting a very drunk hank.
with more and more cases involving androids pouring in, you were being overworked. you didn't have a partner, but if you needed help connor would offer to help you when he was available. even so, you couldn't rely on him when he already had his hands full. the only problem was that there was nobody else working these cases that would be your partner. despite gavin being anti android and still working in these cases, you'd rather get paralyzed from the waist down than work with him.
fowler noticed inconsistencies in your work recently, which was why he was shouting your name from across the bullpen to call you into his see through office. "look, i know you've got a lot on your hands. but i can't keep letting you slide. your work has been inconsistent l/n." he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "you've gotta give me some time- i've been staying past office hours trying to finish everything. if I had a partner i'd be getting a lot more work done and solved." you explained.
he sighed, "alright. I'll see what I can do. just- in the meantime, will you please focus on your work?" you nodded, standing up before leaving his office.
it actually didn't take you too long before you had a partner. "cyberlife was generous enough to give me one of the most advanced androids in their possession, an rk900. now, i expect you to give me quality reports, and to solve your cases." you thanked him, before leaving his office and returning to your desk. hank and connor were out on a mission, otherwise you'd be telling them first. you waited at your desk, browsing some files when you felt the presence of somebody behind you. you swiveled your chair around to see an exact replica of connor, with a few different features. besides his white pristine jacket, you noticed his eyes were grey instead of brown. he looked much more intimidating than his counterpart. and he might've even been taller, though it was hard to judge considering you were sitting down.
"you're detective l/n, correct?" even the way he talked was different. his voice was similar to his predecessor, however there was something that distinguished him and the rk800. he sounded more authoritative in a way. "yes, you must be my partner?" you stood up to shake his hand, which he stared at for a few seconds before lifting up his own. his grip was strong, you noted. "yes. it would be best to get to work right away. is there a desk anywhere?"
you nodded, pointing to the vacant desk in front of you. he sat down, being quick to work as he browsed the many cases that you had. you saw his LED circle amber, indicating he was analyzing all of the current information. "do you have a name?" you asked, making eye contact with him before looking away. "no." well, he was very direct. "we should give you one," you suggested. he stared at you before responding vaguely, "i don't see how this relates to the investigation." you shrugged, "well, it would be more efficient to call out something other than your model number, in case of an emergency." a look flashed in his eye before he responded quickly, as if he expected you to say that. "there won't be any emergencies as long as you're with me."
you were caught off guard, and he knew it. from that look of amusement on his face, you reacted just as he expected. your skin flushed as you looked away, trying to hide your flustered state. did he even know how that sounded to humans? "that's sweet." you replied. "i didn't intend for it to be."
what was his problem? you ignored his comment and stood up, coming over to his side of the desk. "can you find the most recent case involving an attack with an android for me?" you asked, leaning over him slightly. his eyes avoided looking at your cleavage that was exposed, and he fought the urge to point out your violation of dress code. "did you need to stand up to tell me this?" he asked, before searching for a file. you chuckled a little bit, amused by his strange sense of humor. even if it didn't mean to come off as humorous, you still found it funny. your computer chimed with the case file, and you browsed it before grabbing your coat. "i think this will be a good start to our investigation," you said, grabbing your keys as well. he followed you to the parking lot, waiting for you expectantly as you forgot to unlock the passenger door. "oops, sorry," you unlocked the passenger side, waiting until he was fully inside before driving off.
"julia nichols, the wife of anthony nichols reported that her android had killed her husband before disappearing," you went over briefly. "i know." rk900 replied, looking over at you for a moment before turning his head back to the road. "right, you're the one who gave me the file," you said in defeat.
the two of you arrived at the scene shortly after other officers started to show up, and immediately you could tell something was off.
"her story isn't adding up," you said to rk900 as he analyzed the shared bedroom. "i agree. there's information that she's hiding from us. her heart rate spikes up and so does her body temperature." he said as if it was the most normal thing ever. the way you looked at him was proof that humans would never be able to surpass their greatest creation. the rk900 looked around more, peering into the closet to find a wooden box, with the outline of a hunting knife that appeared to be missing. "that's strange," you commented, before interjecting with another random thought that came to mind.
"does that mean you can see my heart rate too?" your curiosity and fascination with something so ordinary to him definitely fueled his ego a little bit. "yes." he stepped closer until he was two feet away from you. "i can see everything," he leaned down just enough for you to be eye to eye with him. the increased heart rate told him all he needed to know, and he left the room, leaving you speechless.
you tried to ignore whatever that was earlier by inspecting the gruesome crime scene. the pictures were always different in comparison to real life. seeing an image versus the actual remains of a human was a drastic change.
the murder took place a few hours or so ago, leaving a 15 minute time gap between the wife's distressed 911 call, and the amount of time it took for officers to respond to the call. judging by the blood splatter patterns, the android would've been seen with blood all over her clothing. unlike humans, androids don't feel pain. despite not being susceptible to damage, the android would most likely have a part of their hand damaged because of the amount of force needed to tear through tissue and muscles. it would definitely leave an injury.
with this information in mind, you were quick to note the slight injury on the wife's right hand.
you didn't believe a word she said. however, you played it off like you believed her and that she wasn't the main suspect. rk900 scanned the husbands corpse that was laid out on the kitchen floor. there was a key detail that any other officer would miss out on, not because they weren't observant enough, but because they weren't an android. rk900 found traces of thirium on the kitchen sink. what looked like fingers gripping onto the counter, and a splatter that was across from the fingers, with little droplets leading him into the basement of the home. he stood in front of the door, about to head downstairs when he felt you behind him. "don't go down there. i have a bad feeling about it," you gripped his wrist, stopping him from moving any further. "you underestimate me, detective. i'm rk900, the most advanced android ever made. if i couldn't handle a human, what kind of detective would i be?" he tugged his hand free from your grip, which didn't take much effort at all. you swallowed nervously as he headed down the steps, following after him. he stopped in his tracks when he felt your weight on the steps behind him. "i advise you not to stand in my way. i can handle this myself," he said, staring at you like you were some child interfering with adult business. you held your tongue, and retreated upstairs to look for anything else.
rk900 didn't bring up the fact that he saw blue blood in the kitchen. not only did that raise suspicion, but it also kept valuable information from you.
you examined the kitchen once more, coming over to where the husband laid, lifeless. you noticed that the knife in question that he was stabbed with was nowhere to be found. even the officers that first responded to the scene said that they hadn't found the weapon. the wife also stated that she did not see where the weapon landed, only when it was being used. but that didn't make sense, why would the android run off with the murder weapon if they knew there wouldn't be any fingerprints?
"excuse me, miss nichols? were you able to tell what type of knife it was?" you asked the wife who had come back inside after being questioned. "it was a kitchen knife." she replied coolly. which was strange, considering the circumstances. a chill ran up your spine as you realized you made a grave mistake. "none of the knives are missing except for your husband's hunting knife," you said.
as rk900 analyzed the basement for any more traces of blue blood, he stumbled upon a container filled with blue blood, next to a black garbage bag that contained a heavy smell. he scanned it, then again, and again to make sure what he was seeing was correct. the blood in the container belonged to the hk400, and it matched the same sample from the kitchen. he pried open the bag, only to see a faint blue light humming, and then the hk200's dismembered corpse inside.
the woman paused, looking at you before lunging at you with the said knife. "shit! nines!" you yelled, trying to gather the android's attention while trying to keep yourself alive. you slipped on the blood, causing you to hit your head on the tiled floors of the kitchen, and she was on top of you in an instant. you fought with her, knocking down chairs to gather the attention of anybody. she managed to cut your arm, staining your white blouse with red, but you managed to switch positions until you were the one on top. using your forearm, you held her down by the chest while using your free hand to slam the knife out of her own. "fuck. nines!" you yelled again, relief flooding your body as footsteps rushed up the stairs, and rk900 was quick to enter the scene. while you were distracted, she was able to grab the knife and cut your stomach, but you were quick and held the blade before it could fully penetrate. he kicked the knife out of her hands, quick to point his gun while you held her down. "don't move or I'll shoot!" he raised his voice slightly, kneeling down to reach into your holster to grab your handcuffs. it felt weird having his fingers shove themselves into your belt, but you tried not to focus on the rough brush of his knuckles so close to you.
she was quickly apprehended by your partner, immediately being sat in the back of a police car. you sat on the floor with your back against a few cupboards, your hand clutching your stomach. you looked like a bloody mess. your arm was stained red, your abdomen leaked red all over your blouse, and your hand was drenched in a mixture of your own blood and the victims.
rk900 rushed to your side, scanning your body to see what injuries you had. thankfully none of them were fatal, but this still was a drawback on his end. "you okay?" you asked, despite being the one bleeding out. "i told you, i can handle myself." you nodded, "so what did you find in the basement?"
he sighed, or gave an equivalent to that. "you need medical attention before we can discuss the details," he held his hand firmly against your abdomen, adding the correct pressure that was needed to stop the bleeding. you winced, gritting your teeth at the burning sensation. you didn't say anything, the two of you waited in silence as an ambulance rushed to the home.
it wasn't a part of his mission to follow you to the hospital, but he did anyway. you had left your keys on the floor, which he picked up and cleaned before using your car to follow the ambulance.
after you were all bandaged up, you headed to the front desk where you signed out. you turned around, seeing the familiar pristine white jacket of the rk900, sitting in the wait room. he sat with his hands in his lap, and it was oddly cute seeing someone so intimidating look so small. as he stood up, you were quickly reminded that he wasn't cute and tiny. "why are you here?" you asked with a smug look on your face. "to return your keys," he replied. you chuckled, "sure. well, let's get out of here," you had walked to the parking lot, waiting for him to lead the way as you had no idea where he parked. "give me the keys," you said. "no. that would be a hazard for both of us. i'm driving," he said as he sat gracefully in the driver's seat. you wondered if you looked that good getting into your car.
"now that I've gotten medical attention, what did you end up finding in the basement?" you asked, looking over at the android who was driving even faster than you. "the missing hk200. it was dismembered and thrown into a garbage bag. next to it was a pitcher of its blood." you grimaced, "so it didn't run away after all. the wife definitely killed her husband and framed the android, but why? I mean why kill someone you were married to?" the android went silent for a moment, before telling you something that definitely would've helped. "I didn't mention this to you because I thought it wasn't relevant information, but when we were inside the room, I found his phone and saw evidence of him having an affair. that could've been a reason why she did it."
you froze, staring at him with a mixture of anger and hopelessness. "why would you keep that from me? even if it doesn't seem useful at the moment, you could've told me." you looked angry but you didn't sound angry. there was something in your tone that sounded like despair. you didn't underestimate his abilities when it came to defending himself, you just didn't want him to put himself into dangerous situations just because he can. in a way you were looking out for him without looking out for yourself. now wasn't the right time to say you were worried when you ended up proving him right; you were in his way. "I'm sorry, detective. I should also bring up that I found traces of blue blood in the kitchen." his tone was different from before. it sounded like he almost regretted his actions. you stayed silent this time. he underestimated your abilities, not because he was looking out for you but because you were weaker than him. that only would interfere with his work. it made you sad to say the least.
you dreaded reporting back to fowler, knowing he'd take rk900's side on this and probably fire you for letting the situation get out of control. you dreaded hearing what he'd have to say. you knew this was your fault, a loss on your end, only proving that you weren't good enough to be a detective. you sat across from Fowler, already sensing his anger and disappointment. rk900 stood behind you with his hands clasped behind his back, his face devoid of any emotion as he watched Fowler start to yell at you. "I give you one of the most advanced partners you can have, and you come back like this?! it doesn't matter that you solved the case! you let the situation get out of control. if I have to tell you to tighten the hell up again, then you're out of my office l/n. be like your partner."
rk900 looked down at you as you avoided meeting anyone's gaze. he didn't want to admit it, but he felt partly responsible for withholding information that could've given you a better outcome. you sat at your desk, avoiding his gaze as you typed away on your computer. the blood was still there on your shirt. you tried to cover it with your coat, but it was useless. the amount of blood on you made him feel guilty. if he just told you what he found, you wouldn't have gotten hurt. he was about to say something when you stood up, and excused yourself. he saw you talking to Connor, making eye contact with the rk800 before he went back to his conversation with you. were you complaining about him to his counterpart? the thought of that angered him, but he remained calm as he didn't know what you were saying. you left to the bathroom, while his predecessor came towards his desk.
"you're partners now," he said. rk900 didn't reply, he just looked at Connor until he said something else. "what's surprising is that she's not mad at you. she feels the opposite, that you're mad at her," he explained. rk900 stood up, looking over to the bathrooms where you were in. "that wasn't my intention-"
"then fix it." Connor said, walking back to his desk. his LED flashed red briefly, before returning to the steady blue it always was. he hated seeing you hurt. he was worried his counterpart would be too careless. sometimes he wished he could be your partner, in a work sense but also in another way he couldn't define. he wouldn't let you get injured like that. he just hoped rk900 would recognize his mistake.
it seemed like crying at work started to become a habit of yours as this was the second time you've done it. you didn't know what to do. you felt like you didn't belong here. since your first day, you've felt out of place. and now, the feeling came on worse than before. when fowler yelled at you to be more like your partner, suddenly it felt like your mom comparing you to a classmate that you could never be like. working here reminded you of when you were a kid, when you came home crying wondering why nobody wanted to play with you. was it always going to be like this? your tears ran down the drain again, and you wiped your eyes and blew your nose before trying to go back out again.
someone entering the restroom quickly made you pretend as if nothing was wrong, but when you met those same grey eyes in the mirror, you couldn't help but to lower your head.
"when you were calling me for help, you called me 'nines'. is that correct?" he asked you. your brows furrowed as you tried to piece what he was trying to allude to. "yes, is it okay if I can call you that?" you said, turning around only to find him closer than you anticipated. "mhm," he said lowly, "i like it. you can call me nines from now on." the corners of your mouth upturned slightly as you said it out loud once more. "I like it too."
he didn't know how to apologize without making it sound like connor told him everything. "I should have been more...efficient. I should have told you the information I found instead of keeping it to myself." you smiled a little bit at him, before remembering what he had told you. "it's okay nines. i never underestimated you, i just...didn't want you to put yourself in danger." unfortunately, he couldn't say the same. the words were clogged in his artificial throat as he tried to gather a correct response. but the look in your face told him that you already knew. "i know nines. if you feel that I stand in your way, don't be afraid to ask for a replace-"
"no." the word was out before he could even think about it. it caught both of you off guard, but he was quick to correct himself. "I apologize for what I said in the basement. if it weren't for you, we wouldn't have found the culprit. I regret what I said, I hope we can move past this and become better partners." you would've started crying again, but you felt too happy to even consider it. "I hope we can move past this too. after all, you are my partner," you smiled, patting his arm.
the police department wasn't bustling with police officers as many of them had gone home, which was something you were thankful for as nobody would question why you just walked out of the same bathroom with your male partner. just imagine the rumors. connor was glad to see you smiling again, and came over before he and hank left home. "are you heading home?" you asked the brown eyed rk unit. after being with nines all day, you missed connor. "yes. i hope that you get well soon, detective." he scanned you one last time, just to make sure that you were alright. "I will be. take care of yourself connor," you smiled before hugging the android goodnight. if anyone else was here, there would be rumors of you fucking both the rk models. you hadn't hugged him before, but it was definitely something he'd get used to. his arms wrapped around your waist gently, not to hurt you. he rested his chin on your shoulder, his sensors going haywire from the warmth surrounding his body. as well as the smell of you, and your hands rubbing his lower back. if he could get goosebumps he probably would have them right now, as the feeling was similar. nines watched your interaction with curiosity. he had access to connor 's memories but never found anything intimate, or anything to suggest the two of you had a relationship outside of work. he must have been very close to you, as your body went from being tensed to completely relaxed.
after connor had left and you made some final reports about the case, it was time for you to go home. you stretched your back, wincing when you felt your injury move underneath the bandage. "are you alright, detective?" nines asked. you smiled, despite them being two different people with different personalities, there were some things they did that mimicked one another. "I am. I think I'm done for the night." you stood up, and grabbed your coat. nines did the same, though he didn't need to grab anything except for his keys. "nines?" you called out, looking over to him only to find he was already looking at you. "yes?"
"are you comfortable with me hugging you?" it was strange. you seemed confident hugging connor but you looked shy when asking him. it made him feel a way he couldn't describe. despite being deviant, these emotions were still new to him, as connor had time to adapt to these new feelings, he didn't have much of an experience. he paused for a second, before nodding his head. you wrapped your arms around his abdomen, your hands rubbing the same lower portion of his back that you did when you hugged connor. reluctantly, he wrapped his arms around you, his sensors taking in the sensation crawling up his spine. since deviation, he was able to feel more things for some reason. that meant his pleasure receptors were stronger than they'd be if he was just in his program, but right now he felt something he'd never felt before. it was a good feeling, to be wrapped with a warm pressure. now he understood why humans loved hugging each other.
you pulled away to his distaste, walking out with him to your car. you didn't know what you just started, but you knew it would be tough to handle your feelings for both of the androids.

“Neither of them spoke a word about the murders.”
Connor put the box he had been holding down, turning to you and nodding his head. “I’m glad I’m not the only one that seemed strange to. I mean, I understand that talk of murder is no way to greet new neighbours but everyone in Detroit has heard about it by now, so I was expecting them to adress it.”
“Me, too.” You sat down on the back of the sofa, looking at Connor before shrugging. “But maybe they just wanted to hype up the neighbourhood because people have been so frightening lately and sales here dropped in the last few weeks.”
“That’s true. I assume anyone moving here would be something to be grateful for.” Connor mused before picking the box back up. “Before we go to that dinner, I’d like to ask you what level of affection you’re comfortable with in public?”
“I don’t mind.” You shrugged as he began making his way to the staircase, you following close behind. “We are supposed to portray a newly married couple, so I’d say being affectionate with each other makes sense.”
Connor smiled and you briefly wondered why his face immediately lit up at your words but you decided to not question this any further as it was already a quarter to five and you didn’t want to be late.
When you told Connor about the time, he quickly hurried upstairs, put the box away in your new bedroom and went for one of the suitcases, pulling out a light blue sweater. His quickly taking off the dusted-up hoodie he’d been wearing for the move-in to change into something else made you realise how dirty your own shirt had gotten during the move. You quickly went for one of your suitcases and rummaged through it, pulling out a white short-sleeved blouse with blue floral details on it. Both you and Connor changed with your back toward each other and once you’d done so you turned back to each other and neither of you could keep your laughter in as you realised you’d accidentally matched your clothes.
“What a coincidence.” Connor said in amusement, eyes flicking down your body before focusing back on your face. “You look pretty in that colour, I must say.”
“Thank you.” You smiled, heat rising to your cheeks. “But to be fair I have yet to find someone that light blue doesn’t look good on.”
“Don’t downplay my compliment. You look really pretty.” Connor insisted before he gave you a small smirk. “And besides, I think light blue isn’t Gavin’s colour – at least if the shirt he wore to work last week was anything to go by.”
“That wasn’t light blue, Con. That was cyan.”
“Isn’t that the same?”
“Not at all.” You shook your head and pulled out your phone. “In fact, I’ve had this discussion with Tina before and we made a colour comparison picture. Let me show it to you.”
Connor held up a hand to stop you. “Any other time I’d love to listen to you talk but if we don’t leave now, we’ll be late.”
“You’re right.” You quickly put the phone away and grabbed a hairbrush from the dresser. “I’ll prove to you that I’m right about the cyan thing later. We can leave in a minute. Let me just brush my hair. It’s gotten a bit unkempt during all this box carrying.”
You did quick work doing your hair and Connor waited patiently until you were done. And then the two of you set out to meet your new neighbours. Connor locked the door and then turned to extend an arm to you which you took without even thinking about it – which was simply because you needed to portray a married couple for the case, you told yourself. He led you down the sidewalk and up to Ashley and Dave’s front door.
To your surprise, neither of them opened but in their place a young woman did so, smiling as she saw the two of you. “You must be the new neighbours. My name’s Rose and I live just across the street from here with my fiancé Steven.”
Connor quickly introduced the two of you by name before looking past Rose. “Are Dave and Ashley still busy preparing the meal? Shouldn’t the hosts open the door?”
“Yeah, they’re pretty busy and I’m over at their place so much that I practically live here.” Rose chuckled and then stepped to the side. “Please, come inside. I’ll tell Ash that you’re here. She’s in the kitchen. You can just go through to the back porch.”
“Thank you.” You smiled and grabbed onto Connor’s arm a little tighter, suddenly feeling a bit nervous because meeting these people meant properly starting your undercover mission and thankful for the security that holding onto him brought. “We’ll see you outside.”
Connor watched Rose leave before he looked back at you. “Are you alright? Your stress levels spiked for a second and you’re gripping my arm rather tightly.”
“Am I hurting you? I’m sorry.”
“It takes more than that to hurt me, rest assured. But I do worry about you. Are you feeling alright?”
You nodded before giving him a small reassuring smile though you knew Connor was too good at reading people’s expressions to believe you. So you lowered your voice, not wanting anyone to hear you. “Meeting these people means properly starting the mission and I feel nervous. It’s dumb, I know.”
“It’s not dumb. Don’t downplay your feelings.” Connor shook his head, giving you a stern look before whispering back to you. “You are an amazing detective, so I know you will do a good job with this mission, too. I trust you.”
You were about to answer when Ashley approached you from behind. “Why aren’t you two on the porch already? It’s such nice weather outside.”
Before you could even think of an excuse Connor spoke up. “Don’t worry about us. My lovely wife has always been nervous about meeting new people, so I’ve been trying to give her a little pep talk, so to speak.”
Ashley’s face fell and she gave you an empathetic look. “I get that. You might not believe me because I chatted you up the moment you arrived here but I’ve always tended to be a bit shy I can assure you that all of our neighbours are sweet and lovely people.”
“See, Love?” Connor smiled down at you. “They will love you.”
“Thank you.” You whispered, glad that Connor had come up with an excuse. “Shall we go outside?”
“Come on, guys.” Ashley waved you along as she went out onto her porch, the two of you following until you were all outside, watching the people sitting at the table look up at you. “Everyone meet our new neighbours!”
After some introductions, you and Connor sat beside each other as you made pleasant small talk with the other couples around. Ashley and Dave had invited three other couples in total. One of them was composed of Rose and her aforementioned fiancé Steven who was a domestic PL600 android. The next couple was a young man named Caleb and his husband, a GS200 security android named Matt. And the last couple was comprised of an ST300 receptionist android named Stacy and her fiancée Riley. They talked about their work, about how they had met, about when they had moved to Fairfield Street and as they began eating, they talked about the food, as well. None of them spoke a word about the murders. Just as you were about to try and casually bring the topic up, planning to feign interest as a newly arrived resident, one of them interrupted you.
“So tell me how you and Connor met.” Caleb said and looked at you with a smile on his face. “I heard you two recently got married. I bet your story cannot top the cute story of how Matt and I met.”
Matt next to him rolled his eyes affectionately and pressed a kiss to Caleb’s head. “Babe, not everything is a competition.”
“We both work at the university as you know. Right now due to the university being partially renovated, we teach online classes because of the room shortage resulting from that but back when I met Connor we both worked on campus.” You chuckled and shook your head, leaning into Connor next to you. “One day I was hurrying to class and as I rounded the corner, I collided with Connor. We both drop our things, along with a file I had on Medieval French Dynasties for a course I was giving.”
Connor chimed in at that. “We both started scrambling to get our things together so we could go on our way. While doing that I grabbed her file on Medieval French Dynasties and she grabbed mine on Artificial Intelligence. But I only realised when I started my class, opened my folder and found historical annals from the sixteenth century.”
A smile tore at your face as your new neighbours began laughing at the story and you quickly piped up to continue it. “And I was standing at my desk, looking at his AI coursework. So I excuse myself, telling my students there has been a mixup and I go to run out the door to find Connor. But as soon as I pull open the door Connor runs in and once more collides with me.”
“We fumble around, apologising and handing back each other’s things. And when we stopped for a second to look at each other one of my students shouts for Connor to ask me out so he can keep staring at me.”
“And I did.”
“And he did.”
“That’s really cute. It gives me romantic comedy vibes.” Riley chuckled and smiled at her fiancée. “We just met through a mutual friend.”
“That’s cute, too.” You argue, giving her a bright smile as Connor leaned over to press a kiss to your head and the setting sun reminded you once more of the murders. So you quickly came up with a plan to get the topic out into the open. “Well, the food was amazing and your salad was so good, Ashley. You have to give me the recipe for the sauce someday.”
“I will.” She said before frowning at you. “But you’re not planning on leaving so soon, are you? We just finished dinner.”
“It’s getting dark.”
“But that doesn’t mean you have to leave. Why would you leave so soon?”
You nodded and grabbed onto Connor’s arm, feigning fear as he placed a hand on top of yours. “With all the murders that have been happening in the University District, I wouldn’t want to stay outside after dark.”
Connor caught onto your idea and quickly nodded his head. “We heard of another one happening just days ago on the radio as we drove here. I’m quite frankly scared.”
Everyone quieted down at the topic and you could tell they seemed just as frightened. You almost felt bad for bringing it up but you reminded yourself that you were actively helping solve the case. Caleb grabbed for Matt’s hand and Riley hugged her cardigan around her body, looking at her fiancée in fear. Rose and Steven seemed just as scared. Dave frowned at the conversational topic and Ashley’s face fell.
“Please, don’t bring that up.”
You frowned at Caleb’s words. “I’m sorry. It just scares me. We bought the house before the first murder and when they happened we hoped the police would solve them soon. We even waited a few more weeks to move out, hoping the culprit would be caught, but eventually, our landlord said we’d have to vacate the apartment.”
“I would have hoped so, too.” Rose sighed and shook her head. “I genuinely thought it had been that creepy reclusive Mister Jones who lives over on Oak Drive but apparently they questioned him and didn’t think he was a possible suspect.”
That was true as after the second murder Tina had taken Mister Jones in as some evidence had pointed toward him but he’d had a solid alibi and was quickly released again. At Rose’s words, Matt piped up, saying that Mister Jones couldn’t have been the suspect anyway since he was an older man and therefore not capable of overpowering both an android and a human.
Connor leaned forward in interest as the neighbours began speaking about their theories about the murder and you did the same. Their ideas ranged from a drug ring, over a robbery gone wrong to a crazed maniac collecting body parts. But none of these theories were in any way supported by the little evidence you had found during the prior weeks. It was Dave who stopped this whole conversation.
“Can we speak about something else? This whole murder talk freaks me out.” He said and shook his head. “We invited you all to have a nice barbeque, not to share your theories. And I must say that an alien abduction sounds a little far-fetched, Steven.”
“That’s what I’ve been telling him!” Rose exclaimed with a small laugh. “But Stevie loves his alien conspiracy theories.”
And with that, the topic changed to alien conspiracies. You and Connor sat back and listened to them in the hopes that they’d circle back to the murders eventually but you had no such luck. So you contended yourself with simply listening to your new neighbours while Connor had begun to absentmindedly play with your hair. His nimble fingers twirled your hair around and massaged your scalp. And you had to admit how nice it felt to have Connor play with your hair. However when you started to question why you were enjoying this so much you reasoned that it would have felt nice no matter who was doing it.
“Are you tired, Love?” Connor whispered to you and when you looked up he chuckled softly. “It was a hard day and you can barely keep your eyes open anymore. I think we should really head home.”
“I hope to see you around some more.” Stacy smiled and looked back at you. “It was nice getting to know you two.”
“You and Riley live across the street from them. You’ll surely see each other again.” Matt said in amusement. “But I wish you guys a safe and good night.”
“We wish you all the same.” You said as you stood up, taking Connor’s hand and intertwining your fingers. “Thank you again for the invitation and your hospitality.”
“No need to thank us.” Ashley smiled and braced herself on the arms of her chair to get up. “Let me see you out.”
She moved to stand up but Dave quickly placed a hand on her shoulder to keep her down. “You stay here, Pumpkin. I’ll see them out.”
“Thank you, Honey.”
With that, Dave led you to the front door and you said your goodbyes. Within the next five minutes, you and Connor were home and as soon as you entered the house, he turned to look at you in excitement.
“That was a great plan on how to get them to talk about it. You are brilliant.”
“But it dissolved into alien conspiracies.” You groaned in frustration, shaking your head. “We have to try again.”
“Did you see how Ashley and Dave reacted to you bringing it up? They seemed irritated and upset rather than afraid.”
“They really didn’t like us talking about it. But that’s not a solid lead, is it? We shouldn’t report that back to Fowler.”
“No, we shouldn’t. Not until we have a more solid lead. They might have other reasons for reacting so irritated. We need to find out why and see if they have any more information.”
“The next time we see them we will try to get information from them again.”
“For now we should turn in for the night. You can get ready and I will lock up the place.”
The two of you turned to leave in opposite directions before realising that you were still holding hands. Your face heated up at that realisation and you withdrew your hand, apologising to Connor before you saw the faint dust of blue on his cheeks. Before you could think about it any further Connor gave an awkward laugh and excused himself to check on the front door. And you took that as an invitation to head to the bathroom.
While you got ready for the night, brushing your teeth, washing your face and changing into your pyjamas, you contemplated the strange feelings you’d been feeling. You had never felt anything but platonic affection for Connor but you had to admit that playing his wife, holding his hand and generally being so close to him felt nice. But you quickly stifled those thoughts. This was a mission to catch a murderer and you wouldn’t let any new feelings distract you from it. Once the Slayer was caught you’d have ample time to think about these feelings.
When you exited the bathroom you found the downstairs area vacated and therefore set out to get upstairs. Connor was already sitting on the bed, dressed in pyjama pants and a shirt, the bedside lamps bathing him in soft light and a small smile on his face. He looked so domestic that it made it impossible for you not to smile.
“Are you still alright with me sharing the bed with you?”
“Of course.” You smiled and got into the bed next to him, leaning over to flick your bedside lamp off. “Did you check the doors?”
“I did.” Connor promised as he lay down next to you, giving you a small smirk. “Then I wish you a good night, my wife.”
You chuckled at his joke. “Good night, my husband.”
And then he turned the light off, dozing the two of you in darkness. It wasn’t hard to fall asleep next to each other as you’d done so before for various reasons. Connor turned to his side, watching the back of your sleeping form for a few minutes, examining the way your shoulders rose and fell with your soft breath, the way you minutely moved in your sleep, not yet having fallen into a deep sleep and he found himself reaching out for you. His fingers traced your shoulder gently as he contemplated why he’d been so eager to play your husband in this undercover mission. But when you turned onto your back he quickly withdrew his hand and closed his eyes, entering stasis.
