I’ve been thinking a while about my two favorite things (Eberron and Spider-Man) and I think they would actually fit together very well. Consider:
Peter Parker, a human working for the Sharn Inquisitive, is bitten by a magebred spider that escaped a secret House Vadalis facility
Swinging around Sharn would be absolutely perfect and a great way of traversing the vertical city
JJJ is now a gnome named G Gnomah Gnomeson (or alternatively, J Jonah Jorasco) and the head of the Sharn Inquisitve. He still has just as much rage, just packed into a smaller frame
Black Cat is a high-society swiftstride shifter burglar with a 30s-femme-fatale vibe
Venom was another reporter for the Sharn Inquisitive who found a Daelkyr symbiont in the lower wards which bonded with him
Green Goblin is a ghaal’dar of the Heirs of Dhakaan with talent in artifice and uses it to terrorize the people of Sharn, who built their city on old Dhakaani ruins
Vulture is a fallen aasimar (or an aasimar of Mabar)
I think I might continue making ideas for this universe in the future, or maybe some art?

History of Eberron
Every child knows the story of the Progenitor Dragons: Siberys, Khyber and Eberron. In the dawn of time, these three cosmic beings created 13 planes of existence, each embodying a concept. Their final work was the Material Plane, we're all their ideas would become manifest. A realm that would know war and peace, life and death, order and chaos. But cruel Khyber sought ultimate dominion over this new reality. She struck Siberys without warning and tore him apart. Eberron wrestled with Khyber and bound the traitor in her coils but could not defeat her. So Eberron became a living prison, a world that would forever contain Khyber's evil.
Almost every culture in the world shares this story as a myth that explains the world. Shattered Siberys became the ing of golden dragonshards wrapped around the planet, said to be the source of magic. Eberron is the world, the source of all natural life. And Khyber is the Underdark and the source of aberrations and fiends, forever struggling against her bonds and yearning to destroy the world above.
Another tale shared across cultures describes one more conflict that occurred in the first age of the world. Long ago, powerful archfiends known as the Overlords and their armies of rakshasa and lesser fiends dominated Eberron. Forces of light--some versions of the story say the nine gods of the Sovereign Host, others say an alliance of dragons and celestials--eventually defeated the Overlords. But these fiends couldn't be destroyed; instead their immortal essences were bound to Khyber. Should they ever break free of their bonds, the results would be catastrophic.
Over the course of the millennia, numerous civilizations rose only to fall. Giants built mighty kingdoms on the continent Xen'drik that were devastated by a war with the dragons of Argonnessen. The goblin empire of Dhakaan ruled Khorvaire until its reign was shattered by an invading army of mind flayers, beholders, and the foul creatures that crated them. Today these civilizations are known only through the remnants left behind.

Eberron Pokemon #12-13 - Darguun & Dhakaan
In Eberron, the goblinoids are called dar in their own tongue. Thousands of years ago, Khorvaire was dominated by a goblinoid empire called Dhakaan. The Empire had exceptional smiths, called daashor, who have crafted our ancient Dhakaan pokemon a fine set of armour. Nowadays, goblinoids in Eberron are treated as something of an underclass, but recently they have risen up to claim a new nation for themselves: Darguun. One day, the leaders of that nation hope to reclaim something of their lost heritage. And that’s why we have this evolution line!

Quick note that I’m writing as a post instead of as a footnote on an RP comment: Sokoraton was a person of magical significance from roughly the middle of Dhakaanr history; their genre and whether they were a mage or not is lost to history, but what has persisted is the memory of their incessant leading questions designed to make one question one’s entire life. To this day, over five millennia later, goblinoids describe someone answering questions with questions and prodding at philosophical underpinnings of arguments or beliefs as “Sokoratonr” - like Sokoraton themself.

Why are Keeper’s Fang weapons called that when the Dhakaani don’t respect the Sovereigns?
Why are Keeper’s Fang weapons called that when the Dhakaani don’t respect the Sovereigns?
Why are Keeper’s Fang weapons called that when the Dhakaani don’t respect the Sovereigns? They don’t believe in the stories that say victims get trapped in the Lair of the Keeper, so why do they keep the name? Or, why is it a Dhakaani weapon? The Keeper’s Fang was introduced in the 3.5 ECS with no mention of Dhakaan. One is seen in the Legacy of Dhakaan novels, which is why I chose to attribute…

last night i had this dream that i had gotten onto ddo and ended up in a party doing the tear of dhakaan quest? the one where you have to retrieve the shards of a hobgoblin relic from some other hobgoblins.
only it had been completely rewritten to be crazy difficult and also a raid? everyone was getting their asses handed to them, some NPC’s which weren’t in the original quest were there and could fuck it up if you weren’t paying attention, like i stepped in and almost immediately someone betrayed us so we had to start over, and it was also possible for the npc’s to become i guess enthralled and destroy the relic fragment if you left them unattended with them
and then there were also dragonshards you could collect or i guess hire kobolds to mine like in the crystal cove event but i think that was a premium feature so i didn’t know how that worked. the kobold mining, i mean. like you’d need to buy a contract from the ddo store for that.

Goblin Week 2020 Day 3
Happy Goblin Week! Today, we’ll be exploring a Homebrewed 5e goblin variant for Eberron.
In the World of Eberron, the Dhakaani were an Empire of goblins, hobgoblins, bugbears and other varieties of goblin, that fell due to chaos induced madness after repelling the invasion of aberrations from Xoriat the plane of madness. The Heirs of Dhakaan are a faction that escaped the madness that consumed their society by moving to underground settlements. There are various Kech or clans among the Heirs. Kech Volaar the Keepers of the Word and have many dirgesingers or ‘bards’ which record the history of their people, and there’s Kech Shaarat the Bladebearers who focus on martial strength. For our bit of homebrew today we’ll be looking at our own Kech, the Keepers of Blood, Kech Khaar.  Rather than magic drawn from tales of honor, or from martial prowess, this Kech would draw power from their knowledge of alchemy and ability to shape living things. Though they would have been gravely weakened early in the war due to the Daelkyr’s own skill at fleshwarping, Kech Khaar would have endured to work at creating soldiers resistant to Daelkyr madness and their aberrant creations various powers.
Bloodkeeper Varag:  Varag’s are an old goblin variant that hasn’t seen much use in recent years, the scant existing material supposes that they were the result of blending hobgoblins and worgs through magebreeding (essentially fantasy genetic engineering). Here we imagine a playable variant designed to hunt Daelkyr and their aberrant creations, still employed by the Kech to protect it during its long isolation underground. Ability Score Increase: Constitution +2, +1 to Str OR +1 Dex
Age: Due to Magebreeding, Varag both grow and age quickly, even for goblins, reaching adulthood within a year of being born and old age at 40
Alignment: In the age of the Dhakaani the goblins were intrinsically lawful and had no strong inclination towards good or evil, Varag would be much the same due to their resistance to Daelkyr chaos inducing madness.
Size: Varags tend to be around 7 feet tall and weigh between 270 and 350 pounds. They are Medium Creatures.
Speed: 30ft
Language: Varag’s speak Goblin and Common
Vision: Moving at night and operating in windowless Dhakaani fortresses the Varag have Darkvision to 60ft, seeing in Dim light as if it were Bright, and in Darkness as if it were Dim light, though they are unable to discern color.
Powerful Build: Varag’s count as one size larger when determining their carrying capacity and the weight they can push, drag, or lift.
Long-Limbed: Varag’s reach for melee attacks is 5 feet greater than normal.
Bloodkeeper’s Blessing: Varag’s have resistance to Psionic Damage, and have advantage on saves against the Charmed and Frightened conditions. Aberrant Hunter: Varag’s are proficient in martial weapons, the Survival skill and your choice of Perception, Athletics, or Animal Handling.

Daask & Droaam: Monstrous Races
Part 1: Harpy, Medusa and Troll
I can’t be alone in loving to play monstrous characters. Scratch that...I know I’m not alone, because the internet is full of stories of them. As campaign settings go, Eberron is particularly friendly to monstrous PCs, thanks to world elements like Dhakaan, Darguun, Droaam, Daask, and House Tharashk. What’s more, at least 3 of its unique player races address players’ love of playing “monstrous” creatures like golems, doppelgangers and lycanthropes.
So I think it’s about time we got even more radical.

Leave a comment if you have an idea for what to add in Daask & Droaam part 2! I imagine I’ll give gnolls and ogres a go.

How well do q’barran Dragonborn and Dhakaani know their own history?
How well do q’barran Dragonborn and Dhakaani know their own history?
ow well do q’barran Dragonborn and Dhakaani know their own history? Would something seem off to dragonborn historian seeing Darguul, being surprised the Dar have fallen so far from the empire that drove them back to Q’barra? When I go to England, I'm not expecting to meet Boudicca. The dragonborn empire and Dhakaan fell thousands of years ago, before humanity even arrived on Khorvaire. The…

Do Darguun or Dhaakani goblins and goblinoids have last names in Eberron? No. They may use descriptive titles —“Munta the Gray” or “Haruuc Shaarat’kor” (crimson blade). If not, they will usually state tribe or allegiance—“Munta of Gantii Vus,” or “Tuura Dhakaan”. — Keith Baker (@HellcowKeith) January 11, 2020
