One thing I genuinely think the fandom forgets or underestimates is just how weird Neil is. Like we paint him to be this carismatic, flashy, cocky bad boy, but in reality he's stingy, skittish, balks at anything more personal then his thoughts on Exy and Cannot for the life of him socialize. Like in the Raven King, right after Seth dies, he straight up goes:
"Neil had to patch things up with [Allison] somehow, but he didn't know where to start. He'd never been good at winning people over. Someone like Allison wasn't likely to be his first success. "
Neil's spent his life living on the outskirts of "average" life. Ergo, he's cagey and flighty and so far removed from normal that even among the Foxes he'll always be a little unpredictable and odd. And you know what, good for him; we all deserve an antisocial introverted asshole to raly behind.

Wara ningyô (straw doll) kept at Tono Museum.
Those effigies were once hung on ropes (michikiri) by roadsides and village entrances to ward off evil spirits bringing pestilence (疫病神 yakubyôgami). They were sometimes accessorized, like this one bearing a daishô (katana set) and a fearsome (oni?) face mask.
Waraningyô are also a staple of folk magic alike voodoo dolls, especially those related to eerie uchi no toki mairi ("Ox-hour shrine visits", ie witching hour).

A juvenile red-billed seagull. It was found dead by my dad, in a carpark near the beach in the early morning. No obvious signs of the cause of death, absolutely no wounds, broken bones, etc.
I wonder if it was something it ate?
As a native/protected species, I will need to apply for a permit before doing anything with this one. But it might be for sale eventually.

Hello hi good morning
It seems we have to remind people once again:
AUTISM IS NOT SOMETHING YOU CAN CATCH, IS NOT SPREADABLE, CANNOT BE CAUSED BY SOMETHING, NOR IS IT CURABLE. ITS A GENETIC DISORDER THAT CAN ONLY, I REPEAT, ONLY BE CAUSED BY THE GENES OF YOUR PARENTS OR CAUSED BY DISORDERS THAT THEY MAY HAVE THAT LEADS TO YOUR OWN DISABILITY.
IT CANNOT BE CAUSED THROUGH MEDICATION, VACCINATIONS, OR SNEEZING ON SOMEONE.
PLEASE STOP
here are two comment I found that made me giggle to alleviate the headache you might now be feeling

autoimmune culture is pretending everything is sunshine and rainbows because you don't wanna disappoint your friends. hii i also have crmo (and am a minor), and was wondering if you do anything specific to manage the pain.
yeah, trying to keep up with abled people, especially friends, is really difficult to do
as for pain, i primarily rely on the pain meds prescribed to me by my doctor. if you aren't on any, you'll have to ask for a prescription, or look for a naproxen painkiller, since it works primarily as an anti-inflammatory, which is what your body needs with crmo. ibuprofens work well as well if you can't find a naproxen.
stretching regularly and doing gentle exercises once or twice a week helps with the pain long-term if your muscles are particularly tense, and dressing warmly if its cold or even just more windy than usual also helps.

The gin and tonic has saved more Englishmen's lives, and minds, than all the doctors in the Empire.
- Winston S. Churchill
British empire builders took quinine to protect themselves against malaria, but it tasted too bitter. The British Army officers in India mixed quinine with sugar and sparkling water (& gin) to make it more palatable – the iconic Gin & Tonic was born.

I find it absolutely hilarious that so many people here reblog things they hate. I see so many people that, for example, when I share a gif set of a character watering flowers, they reblog it and write in the tags like "I hate her with passion I hope she dies" like ok but why are you sharing her content then????
And when I write a defensive analysis for characters which I do a lot for many characters there's always someone who's gonna reblog it and put something like "yeah but your opinion doesn't matter op I still hate them" in the tag but why are you rebloging this then 😂
Content creators work hard for things they love and your hate on their work is the last thing they want to see, same for your mutual who reblogs content of something they love so don't ruin that for other people who enjoy it instead of just acting like you didn't see it and looking for something that you love instead.

On Stereotypes and Aventurine
Gotta get this out of the way before I start using my Aventurine more because it is an important part of how I will play his character.
Aventurine is rarely ever genuine. He plays to the role people expect him to be, or to the role that will get him the best cards in the deck. If people expect him to be a flirt, he will flirt. If people expect him to be frail and naive, he will be frail and naive. If people expect him to be intimidating and a threat, he will be a threat.
He is a social chameleon, and no, it is not because he is Sigonian, but because he grew up in an environment that forced him to be like this.
Stereotyping will always have a profound effect on a developing person, and when a child grows up hearing that they are scheming, untrustworthy, and manipulative without any other lens to say otherwise, it is highly likely that they will grow into said lens. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
There must be a reason people look at them and assume so, after all. Their words must be true. Why would the majority say so otherwise?
So, just as a child who's been reminded constantly that they are bad, Aventurine became "bad".
It's tiring to a waste your breath and prove otherwise. Especially without a community left to uplift and support you. To remind you that you are more that what people assume you to be. A person. A person who's culture is fated to be written over by the winners of a war, and those who held grudges against them.
"Aventurine" plays up to stereotypes, because that is what got him to where he is now, and is what everyone told him he had to be. It keeps people at arm's length, keeping them far, far away from █████████.
█████████ can't be hurt anymore if he doesn't come up to the surface, after all.
