It's a curious sensation, Adrian reaching across to pat him on the back: the touch of a human is always as welcome as it is disturbing, but after his tumultuous comedy of errors with Dr. Moreau and steadily growing closer with Ed, sparks shoot out from Adrian's fingertips and spread warm through Dodge's chest. Less than anxiety, yet more than simple appreciation. Affection, maybe, for one of his oldest friends.
"You know, I'm not even sure," Dodge can't help but laugh: all he can parse from the long month spent indoors is trying to keep Ed from taking too much radiation damage, the stubborn asshole. "Maybe myself. Everyone was busy enough without having to scrape me off the floor, so they just put me up somewhere and went on about their lives."
"That good, too. Things could always be worse for guys like us." Guys like us: as if Dodge can even compare his own measly struggles to what he imagines Adrian having to deal with. Their professions are all they have in common, at least as far as Dodge is concerned, but he recognizes his friend's gesture anyway. He shakes his head too, and even snorts a little laugh. "Better you than me. I don't know which is worse - telling people 'you can't stand there' or telling them 'you can't eat that'." Both are equally terrible, but they both thrive in that work, valued for their workhorse mentalities when everyone else is losing their minds.
Dodge takes a drink, swishing the liquid around his mouth before swallowing - the weather still has his mouth dry, and he swears he can still taste the grit of ash under his tongue and up in his gums. "I was instructed to stay in place, mostly, but I got to scrub some masks. You and I need to plan another trip out into the Wastes... Hurry up and enjoy the clean air before they herd us all back up."

I fear a marching band being conducted by Mr.Milchick would've worked on me. I'm sat. Forget my dead wife Ive got more important things to do like watch an amazing band play instruments and dance choreographed together. Seeing the show till the end is my priority, I wouldnt even care that I could not tell what picture they were trying to show since it can only be seen by above. I am not immune to the power of a marching band, especially one accompanied with Mr Milchick dancing

✦•┈๑⋅⋯ Paul Lahote ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
You are once again taking a walk with your best friend, Jasper. To be honest, you haven’t been in the mood since morning because your period started. You knew the nature of your friend, so you were surprised by his composure. But it was precisely next to him that you felt much better. After all, the ability to manage other people's emotions isn't such a bad thing.
But going for a walk with someone your boyfriend can't stand is a terrible idea. Paul is a rock-solid and caring man, always ready to stand by you through thick and thin. However, his short temper is like a ticking time bomb. Even if you merely trip over a tree root, he would likely go on a tirade, ready to unleash havoc in the name of your safety. On one hand, it's sweet that he would move mountains for you, but on the other... being around him can be downright terrifying at times. It's like walking on eggshells, never quite knowing what might set him off.
Taking a deep breath of the crisp autumn air, you smiled brightly. Jasper settled onto a nearby rock, his gaze drifting deep into the woods. Vibrant yellow and red leaves danced down from the trees, gathering in delicate heaps on the ground. A mischievous idea sparked in your mind. You dashed over to a towering pile of leaves and leapt into it, sending a cascade of colorful foliage flying in every direction. Jasper chuckled, walking up to you. “Feeling any better?” he asked, extending his hand to help you up. But instead of taking his hand, you grasped his arm and pulled him down beside you. Now, both of you were sprawled in the leaves, laughter bubbling up like a mountain spring.
“Oh my goodness, what a child you are,” Jasper remarked, shaking his head in playful disbelief. He noticed a small twig lodged in your hair and leaned in closer, his face just inches from yours. He gently extricated the branch and tossed it aside. Before he could utter a word, someone's fist flew into his jaw.
“Don’t you dare touch her, you bloodsucker!” That gruff voice was one you could recognize in a crowd of thousands. Paul. Jasper was trying to dodge the wolfman's blows, not yet retaliating against Paul. But your boyfriend seemed to have lost his mind: his eyes were bloodshot, nostrils flaring as he greedily sucked in air, his body trembling with rage. “You’d better back off, sweetheart!” Jared shouted, a cocky grin plastered across his face. “This is going to be one hell of a show!”
“Jared, stop him!” you yelled desperately at the guy who seemed in no rush to rein in his friend’s fury. “Jared, please!” After yet another one of your pleas, the Indian boy sighed and stepped in to separate the two before things spiraled out of control. “Easy, girls, easy. I've got the lipstick!,” Jared quipped, hoping his silly remark would lighten the mood, but instead, a fist landed solidly in his gut. “Shut up, Jared!” Paul barked, still glaring menacingly at Jasper.
Tension hung thick in the air, like a storm cloud ready to burst. You felt your heart race as you watched the chaos unfold, praying that tempers wouldn’t flare any further. The atmosphere crackled with a raw energy, a powder keg ready to explode, and you knew all too well how dangerous such a volatile situation could be.
You stepped between the guys, tears welling in your eyes as you looked at Paul, who finally shifted his gaze to you, lost in the depths of your eyes. Gradually, he came back to reality. “Why the hell didn’t you tell me you were going out with that… that idiot?” he asked, fists clenched like iron. “Because I knew you’d be angry,” you confessed, your words sending shockwaves through him. “Are you trying to spite me or what?!” He slammed his fist against a nearby tree, splintering it to pieces. You flinched, instinctively shrinking back. “Paul, calm down, you’re scaring her,” Jared intervened, grabbing his friend by the shoulder, trying to pull him away from you to a safe distance. “Go to hell, Jared,” Paul snapped, spinning around and delivering a punch to Jared’s gut. Jared doubled over in pain, falling to his knees. “Paul! Please, come to your senses!” You placed a hand on his cheek, turning him toward you, but he struck you across the face, sending you flying back a few meters. An oppressive silence descended, hanging in the air like a heavy fog.
“[Y/N], forgive me, darling!” Paul immediately jumped up from his spot, trying to help you, but Jasper dismissed him with a flicker of irritation, his patience clearly at its breaking point. “What the hell, you damn vampire?!” But Cullen ignored the werewolf's outburst and focused on assisting you to your feet. He gently grasped your chin between his fingers, his brow furrowing in concern as he took in the bruise marring your face, the result of the blow.
Jared, seated on his knees, stared in disbelief at his friend, who had sworn to him that he would never let his aggression touch his betrothed. It seemed Paul had failed to keep his promise. “I think it's better if we stay away from each other for a while,” you murmured, refusing to meet Paul’s gaze as Jasper effortlessly lifted you into his arms.
“Go to hell, you slut! I don’t want a fiancée like you, anyway!” Paul shouted in sheer desperation, turning into a wolf and bolting into the depths of the forest. You stifled a sob, burying your face in Jasper's shoulder. Meanwhile, Jared was torn, caught in a tug-of-war between going after Paul or offering solace to Paul’s heartbroken girl.
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ Seth Clearwater ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
Seth had always been an open and spirited guy, that is until a certain moment. For some reason, he started ignoring your phone calls, stopped inviting you out, and simply didn’t want to spend time with you for the past two weeks. You tried to reassure yourself, thinking he was likely busy preparing for his upcoming exams. But your surprise turned to concern when his classmates mentioned that Seth hadn’t shown up at school for over a week. That set off alarm bells in your mind.
Now, you're making your way to the Clearwater house, determined to clear the air and get to the bottom of this mystery.
As you navigate the muddy path, slipping a couple of times due to the incessant rain, you can’t help but mutter under your breath. Of all places, why did Seth have to live out here in the middle of nowhere?
“Seth!” the girl banged aggressively on the door. “Open up, you scoundrel!”
“What on earth are you shouting about?”Seth's older sister appeared at the door, her beautiful face framed by the entrance. “He’s not home; he’s at school.” she paused for a moment, thinking. “Why aren’t you there? I thought school in Forks finished later.”
“That's not important! I want to see my boyfriend!” you stomped your foot and crossed your arms defiantly. “I’m not leaving until I know he’s okay.”
“He’s fine.” Leah replied tersely before slamming the door right in your face. You huffed in frustration and plopped down on the porch steps.
As evening fell, the chill in the air became palpable. The wind whistled through the trees, and the buzzing of nocturnal insects filled the silence. The branches swayed, casting eerie shadows that danced in the darkness, sending shivers down your spine. You were afraid of the dark, but more than anything, you worried about your boyfriend. Leaning against the railing, you succumbed to sleep, your thoughts drifting softly to Seth.
In the midst of a dream, you felt gentle caresses through your hair and the sensation of being carefully lifted into someone’s arms. You lingered in slumber, savoring the warmth enveloping you as you nuzzled against a collarbone, inhaling a familiar scent. Suddenly, you were laid down on a soft mattress, and smiling, you nestled closer to the body beside you.
Morning light poured through the windows, pulling you from your dreams with tender strokes brushing against your hair. Blinking into the brightness, your eyes widened in shock as you took in the sight of Seth lying next to you. He wore an apologetic smile, but before he could utter a word, “I’m sorry, [Y/N], I didn’t mean to—" you were already bolting from his bed, racing down the hallway. Disappearing from your life only to draw you back in like this? How could he dare to touch you?
“Don’t come near me, you traitor!” you shouted, trying to wrench your arm free from Seth's grasp. “I've been on edge for two weeks!” Finally breaking free, you slapped him hard across the face and then gasped in shock. “Oh God! Seth! I didn’t mean to, I’m so sorry!” You reacted in a whirlwind of emotions, hitting your boyfriend just like those drama queens you used to roll your eyes at. Tears started to well up in your eyes, and you didn’t even give him a chance to explain.
“Wow,” Leah exclaimed from the kitchen, stirring her tea. “I never thought I'd witness a classic American soap opera come to life right in front of me.”
“Screw this!” Seth snapped, his expression serious. “[Y/N], please, just give me some time, and I swear I’ll explain everything. Not now, but someday—I promise.” He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, forcing a chuckle. “Can I at least give you a hug?”
“Don't tell me you're actually asking if you can start a family with her?” the girl scowled, glancing from you to your brother. “That’s just disgusting.”
“Leah!”
“Since the day I was born, it’s been Leah.” She rolled her eyes, taking a bite of her cookie. “I don’t need you to remind me of my name.”
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ Sam Uley ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
You were tired of the ridiculous rumors about Sam. Your boyfriend, the founder of some gang? Nonsense! He is a decent and educated man—there’s no way he’s the head of a gang. But the problem is… your father believed those rumors and forbade you from seeing Sam. Instead of standing up for your relationship, he went along with your dad. Does he really not care about you? Was he just playing with your feelings like he did with Leah?
Determined to get to the bottom of things, you decided to follow him after spotting him outside a store. Throwing on a long black coat, a large black hat, and some ridiculous fake mustache, you waited until he was safely out of sight before you began to tail him, hiding behind lampposts and trees whenever he glanced back. Silly? Yes. Effective? You bet!
Eventually, you found yourself at his house, where a couple of guys had gathered. They were all shirtless, and as you hid behind a tree, you couldn’t help but admire the sight of the muscular guys, feeling both intrigued and a bit flustered.
“Sam, who is that?” one of the Indian asked, pointing towards the tree where you stood. “Do you have secret admirers?” After his friend's words, Sam shot him an annoyed glance before heading in your direction. Grabbing you by the elbow, he brought you to the center of the clearing, and all eyes were suddenly on you. Swallowing hard, you nervously waved your arms, desperately searching for an explanation. In an instant, Sam yanked off your hat and those ridiculous fake mustaches, staring at you in shock. “[Y/N]? What are you doing here?”
“Exactly, [Y/N]!” a girl stomped her foot. “I have the same question for you!” She poked Sam in the chest with her finger, her expression fierce.
“This is my home. I live here.” The man looked at you in confusion, crossing his arms over his chest. You mirrored his action, narrowing your eyes at him, your cheeks puffed up. Honestly, he didn’t want to argue with you, especially not now, when you looked so cute. His cute girlfriend. “Listen, I don’t want to fight with you, especially in front of others, and—” He didn’t get to finish, as his friend interrupted him.
“Nothing! We don’t mind watching a family squabble! Hey, Paul, do we have any beer left?”
“Jared, shut up and don’t interfere in other people’s conversations,” Sam said firmly, while Paul gave Jared a light smack on the back of the head and, putting an arm around his friend's shoulders, walked away, leaving you two alone. “Honey, this is a tough time for me, and I just want you to be safe.”
“Don’t you want to ask me what I want?” You stepped toward him impulsively. “I don’t care if it’s dangerous to be around you or not. I want answers, Sam Uley! Just tell me what the problem is! Maybe I can help?” You lowered your head, feeling defeated, and sank to your knees, covering your eyes with your hands as you tried to calm your racing heart and sort through your tangled thoughts.
The man crouched down beside you, gently stroking your hair. He always did this when you felt low. “[Y/N], I love you so much, and I want to make sure you’re safe.” Sam pulled you close, enveloping you in his strong arms—his broad frame almost shielding you from view. As you melted into his embrace, a sense of calm washed over you.
“Sam, I love you too, but if you keep pushing me away, you’re only going to hurt us both.” You pressed a soft kiss on his neck, your hands gliding over his bare back. “If you don’t want to explain, that’s fine. Just please don’t leave me; don’t abandon me. I can’t live without you!” You trembled at the thought.
He tilted your chin up gently, offering a weary smile. “I too can't imagine living without you,” he gently kissed you on the lips, as if trying to convey what he couldn't say. “I'm sorry; someday you'll understand everything.”
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ Leah Clearwater ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
Your girlfriend was so rude to your best friend. Could it be that she's jealous?
Leah had always been hot-tempered and abrasive, but with you, she turned sweet and gentle. However, she could hardly tolerate your friends. They drew too much attention away from her. When she found out you were going to the beach with Bella, it was like a storm had hit her home. Anyone but Bella—the vampire’s girlfriend! There was just something about her that drove Lea up the wall. She acted as if the world owed her something, strutting around like a self-appointed princess.
You and your best friend Bella were sitting on the sand, engaged in a lively discussion while gazing out at the beautiful sea. Suddenly, Bella placed her hand on your shoulder, about to say something, when a jolt of pain shot through her arm, making her cry out. Stunned, you turned to see an angry Leah, her fists clenched tight, glaring fiercely at Bella. “Don’t you dare touch her!”
“Leah! What are you doing?!” you shot up to your feet, scolding your girlfriend. Leah's posture shifted, her arms drawing in close as though she were a scolded puppy, looking back at you with an expression of guilt. “What’s gotten into you?” you exclaimed, rushing to help Bella while dodging Leah’s snarls.
“And why does she think it’s okay to lay her hands on my girlfriend?” Leah retorted, crossing her arms defiantly over her chest. “Right now, you’re the one laying your hands on someone,” you shot back, casting a stern glance at her before turning your attention to Bella’s injury. “Oh crap, Swan, you’ve broken something!” you said, gently helping her to her feet, determined to escort her home.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Leah asked, concern thick in her voice.
“Anywhere but here!” you replied without looking back, the weight of the tension still heavy in the air.
All this time, a shocked Seth stood nearby, wanting to invite everyone over to Emily's house, but it seemed he had arrived at the wrong moment. “What happened?” he asked, approaching his sister. But she just gave him a worried glance and, without saying a word, went inside her home.
Once she reached her room, she lay down on her bed, pulling the blanket over herself. Seth remembered this scene vividly and felt a wave of dread. She had looked just the same after her breakup with Sam. He didn't want his sister to sink back into such a state again. “Leah, is there anything I can do to help?”
“Just go away, Seth. It's my fault,” she muttered, burying herself deeper in the blanket, trembling slightly. “It's all over now.”
“Nothing is over! I'm going to talk to her!” But the girl didn’t respond to his words. Leah knew she had made a mistake and she accepted her error, but there was no way to fix it.
Seth was persistently knocking at your door, and as soon as you opened it, he barged into the house. “Alright, let's measure up!” he said, grabbing you by the elbow and pulling you outside.
“Seth! Let go of me! At least give me a chance to change!” You stood in the middle of the street in your short pajamas, which barely covered your exposed skin. Covering your chest with one hand, you glanced around, hoping no one would see you. “I don't care,” Seth replied, scooping you up in his arms. His body provided some cover from prying eyes. “I'll get you to my place in no time!”
Well, he wasn't lying when he said he'd get home quickly. Just five minutes later, you found yourself standing at the entrance to the Clearwater house. Taking a deep breath and exhaling slowly, you stepped inside, feeling a shiver run down your spine from the contrast of the warm interior and the chilly weather outside. As you climbed the stairs, you winced at the creaking of the wooden steps. Upon reaching your girlfriend’s room, you knocked a couple of times before entering.
Leah's room was dimly lit, almost gloomy. You struggled to find the light switch in the dense darkness, and once you flipped it on, you approached her bed and sat down. The mattress dipped slightly under your weight. Leah abruptly threw off her blanket, ready to unleash her frustration at Seth, but froze when she saw you before her.
“Hello, Leah.”
“[Y/N]?” The girl looked at you in shock, first glancing at you, then over your shoulder at Seth, who was leaning casually against the doorframe. “What nonsense has he been feeding you?” Leah snapped, her eyes narrowing as she took in your appearance from head to toe. “And why are you dressed like that?” After her question, Seth bolted out of the room.
“He said what he needed to say!” you huffed, curling up under the blanket beside her. “Come on, move over—I’m freezing.” You wrapped your arms around her waist and nestled your face against her warm shoulder. “You have no idea how hot are you,” you confessed, and then immediately clapped a hand over your mouth. “Not in the way you’re thinking, though that too. I mean—ugh! Forget it! I’m going to sleep.” In response to your jumbled words, you heard a sweet laugh, feeling her embrace you in return.
“I'll show Seth how to steal you away from home tomorrow! And…” She paused for a moment. “I'm sorry, please forgive me. I don't know what came over me.”
“It's okay, I forgive you. But please, don't do that again.”
“I'll try.”
“Lea!”
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ Embry Call ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
You like your boyfriend’s friend Jacob is loyal and kind, but Embry has been sneaking away to spend time with him way too often. Today is no exception. You were heading over to your boyfriend’s place to enjoy your usual Friday movie night, where it was your turn to pick the film. Last time, Embry chose ‘Attack of the Killer Tomatoes,’ and to be honest, you were left in shock by his choice. It made him seem a bit silly, and the thought of him picking the next film sent shivers down your spine.
You had decided on a horror movie for tonight: ‘Smile 2.’ You couldn't help but smile at the anticipation of being scared, imagining how Embry would wrap his arms around you, kiss you, and whisper sweet nothings in your ear to comfort you. Giggling and spinning in excitement, you knocked on the door, but only silence greeted you. Feeling annoyed, you circled the house, only to realize that no one was home. Anger surged within you at the thought of where he might be, and with a determined turn, you headed towards Jacob’s house. “I’m going to show that little pup how to keep his hands off my boyfriend!”
“Embry, toss me the seventeen,” Jacob shouted, inspecting the car's wheel. “Just a little more and this baby will be as good as new!”
“I think [Y/N] is upset with me…” Embry approached the toolbox, grabbed the required wrench, and went over to help his friend with the car.
“Girls are just… well, girls,” Black chimed in with a chuckle. “Listen, you’d better apologize properly…” Jacob raised his eyebrows, giving him a knowing look. “You know, like really lay it on thick.” He stuck out his tongue and pointed at him playfully.
“What?!” Embry pulled back in shock. “Dude, we’re not even eighteen yet!”
“Yeah, but that didn’t stop our classmate Betty.”
“Because our classmate Betty is just... just…” Embry paused, searching for a more tactful way to say it. “She's just a bad girl! And [Y/N] and I are not like that!”
“Maybe... damn it!” Jacob shouted as the tire slipped off, pinning him under the car while he was still lying underneath it. “Embry, get me out of here! I should have bought a new jack!”
Sitting on the floor next to Jacob, Embry couldn't help but laugh. It wasn't every day that your best friend had a car fall on him. Jacob didn't appreciate his buddy's good mood and shoved him playfully in the shoulder. They started to mock-fight after that. “Listen, about [Y/N]...” Embry paused for a moment, tuning into his friend's words. “Girls don’t just turn on ‘Sex and the City’ for nothing. Use your noggin, bro! Even Seth isn't as innocent as you think!”
“Well, at least you've got yourself a catch!” Your voice rang out like thunder in the serene garage, and suddenly, silence fell like a heavy shroud. “You’ve already stolen my guy! Are there no other options?” You strode up to Embry and passionately kissed him right in front of Jacob. He grimaced and rolled his eyes, while your guy, flustered, turned you both so that his back was facing Jacob. “He's mine!” you declared after the kiss. “And I'm taking him with me!” You grabbed Embry’s hand, intertwining your fingers, and led him toward the garage exit.
“Go ahead and take him, I've got plenty more like him!” Jacob chuckled, genuinely happy for his friend. “Just make sure to name your kid after me!”
“We’ll think about it!” you replied, wrapping your arms around Embry as you strolled casually to his house. You couldn’t help but eavesdrop on the boys’ conversation and realized that, with someone like Embry, you definitely wanted children. He took such good care of you and would never do anything to disrupt your comfort. Thus, you firmly decided that after you turned eighteen, you would gift him your heart and soul for his birthday. Although he was younger than you by just a few months, he certainly looked older and possessed a maturity that surpassed that of typical teenagers.
Lost in admiration as you gazed at his profile, you didn’t even notice that you had arrived at his home. Well, the evening promised to be enchanting.
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ Quil Ateara ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
Quil was always a kind and calm guy. He had never raised his voice at you, and there was always a sense of peace in your relationship. But something had changed; he had grown sharper and more cautious, as if he were searching for someone in the darkness during your walks. He stopped spending the night at home, and you increasingly noticed him without a shirt. You knew the legend of the Quileutes. But surely, that was just a legend, right?
While wandering through the forest, you didn’t expect to encounter anyone else, let alone here, in your favorite spot where you and Quil used to have your dates. But there, sitting alone, was a pale-faced young man. As you accidentally stepped on a twig, the sharp crack echoed through the stillness, and he turned toward you abruptly. Your heart seemed to stop. His red eyes filled you with a primal fear, and you instinctively took a step back.
“Hey there, sweetheart,” the guy smirked as he slid down from a large log, slowly approaching you like a predator ready to pounce on its prey. “What are you doing all alone out here, gorgeous?” He laughed in a way that sent chills down your spine, and in the blink of an eye, he was right next to you, revealing his white, sharp teeth. “Didn't your parents teach you that wandering through the woods alone can be dangerous?” He leaned in closer to your neck, inhaling your scent and rolling his eyes in delight. “Mmm, I can just tell you’re going to be quite a treat…” His tongue traced along your collarbone as he gripped the fabric of your light summer dress, which seemed like it might tear under the pressure. “I’ll show you how…”
“Didn’t your parents teach you that you shouldn’t come on to other guys’ girls?” Quil’s broad back appeared, shielding you from the unknown guy who had been tossed aside by Quil with a considerable force. “I’ll wipe the floor with you, you disgusting bloodsucker.” Your boyfriend’s eyes turned crimson as he bent down and began to shake with rage. You heard the tearing of fabric, and in the place where your boyfriend stood, an enormous wolf emerged—one that was unmistakably different from the ordinary. You noticed another wolf leap out from the bushes, lunging at the pale-faced guy.
They tore him apart together. And then the wolf, which had taken Quill's place, ripped off the guy's head and spat it out.
You watched in horror as everything unfolded. First, some pervert, and then Quill appeared, transformed into that huge wolf; then another one joined, and they tore the guy's head off and... Wait, where did they go? Before you could collect your thoughts, the wolves vanished into the bushes, and then instead of them, Quill and Embry emerged. An angry Quill and a worried Embry.
“[Y/N]! What the hell are you doing wandering around by yourself like this?” he roughly grabbed your shoulders, lifting you off the cold ground.
“Quil, she's in shock, maybe…”
“Don't interfere, Embry!” After he shouted at his friend, Quil turned back to you, ready to say something more, but when he saw your tears, he stopped. “Sweetheart…” As an empath, he seemed to sense everything you were feeling. It pained him deeply, and he felt like tearing his own throat out. “You’re scared, aren’t you?” He pulled you into his gentle embrace, burying his face in your shoulder. “God, you smell like that corpse…” But he quickly added a smirk. “We’ll definitely need to get rid of that stench, huh?” Quil traced a line of soft kisses from your shoulder to your ear. “Tonight, we’re going to relax properly,” he whispered, his warm breath enveloping your ear. “I promise I’ll explain everything to you, now that you… well, you’ve seen it all.”
“Alright…” you whispered, sniffing back your tears. “I trust you.”
“How sweet,” Embry said, wiping away his accumulated tears as he sniffled. “You two are just perfect together.”
“Oh come on, Embry, get a grip, man.”
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ Jacob Black ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
You’re happy that your boyfriend has such wonderful friends. But he talks about Bella too often. Are you having breakfast together? He starts saying how he’s eating Bella. Are you out for a walk? He tells you where he went with Bella. Are you working out together? He mentions Bella's body and how fragile she is compared to you. That was the last straw.
You’re sitting with the guys at Emily’s, ordering pizza. Somehow, the conversation shifts from Seth wetting his pants as a kid to "Bella’s relationships with a vampire." Jacob, of course, chimes in, passionately defending Bella and blaming everything on Edward. Then, out of the blue, Jared makes a slip about the recent kiss between Jake and Bella, and suddenly the room falls silent, all eyes on you.
You bite your lip and bolt out of the house. Jacob barely catches up to you, grabbing your arm. You yell at him in response. Those who were inside the house rush out to see what’s happening. “Don’t you dare touch me!” you scream, shoving him away. “I've had enough! I’m tired of putting up with this kind of treatment! I like Bella and I'm fine with your communication with her, but you've crossed the line!”
“[Y/N], let me explain…”
“No, Jacob. It's over.” You tried to pull your hand free from his strong grip, but it was no use. “Let me go!” You couldn't hold back any longer and slapped him across the face. Everyone who was laughing fell silent at the sound of the pained cry that escaped your lips. “Damn it! Damn it!” You pressed your injured hand against yourself and dropped to your knees. The guy tried to approach you, but you pushed him away with your healthy hand. Then Embry and Quil rushed over, helping you to your feet and guiding you into the car to take you to the Cullens.
“Now that’s a solid punch,” Jared chuckled, trying to lighten the mood. “You know, puppies need to be trained.” Almost immediately, he received a punch to the stomach from Jacob.
Jacob paced back and forth, reflecting on his behavior. Had he really messed up? Undoubtedly. He had kissed someone else's girlfriend while he already had one of his own. Slapping himself on the cheek, Jacob sank down onto his bed, pulling his knees to his chest. Just then, he heard his father opening the front door and conversing with someone. Straining to listen, he quickly recognized your voice and bolted out of his room, knocking things over in his haste.
The moment he caught sight of you, he rushed forward, wrapping his arms around you and lifting you off the ground in a joyful spin. With a health hand, you playfully tapped his shoulder, signaling him to set you down.
“Forgive me! I'm so messed up!” He finally set you down on the floor. “I swear I’ll never do anything like that again. You’re my one and only! I didn’t realize how much you were hurting.” He let go of your head but immediately lifted it again. “Go on, hit me as hard as you can so that I feel the pain!” He spread his arms wide, exposing his chest and waiting for you to strike.
“Oh, no! I’m not going to hit you!” You waved your casted arm in front of him, chuckling.
“I think I'm going to hit him!” Jared's voice echoed who had brought you here, as he approached Jacob, and without a second thought, he shoved his friend outside and landed a solid punch to his gut, sending Jacob flying several meters and crashing through a couple of trees. You stood there in shock, mouth agape, watching Jacob laugh as he dusted himself off, shaking off the dirt and debris.
“Well, now he definitely won’t be bothering you anymore,” Jared winked at you, then took off running as Jacob playfully tried to retaliate with a mock punch. You let out a deep sigh, and suddenly heard a matching weighty sigh beside you. Billy shook his head, a hint of amusement in his eyes, and invited you to join him for a cup of tea, sensing that the boys would keep up their antics for quite some time.

it's pretty implied that ellie never came out to joel in the proper sense. she lets him assume that she's into men, gives him the false satisfaction of "seeing" her "crush" on jesse, does not correct him. she's fairly confident in being gay in public for others to see and having others close to her know; so why not correct him? why dodge the topic?
was it out of fear? could it be that she never broached the topic despite being close to him in the early years because of the possibility of his reaction being negative? that she was afraid that out of all things that could force them apart (further apart after they split), him reacting badly to her being gay would be the worst?
what about at the dance? would she have been as wound up as she was if the moment hadn't been an encounter with a vicious homophobe? maybe she would've still snapped without this context, but why is she immediately on the defensive against joel after he sticks up for her?
what about the porch scene? why did she refute his question of dina being her girlfriend so insecurely, looking away, nervously and quietly stumbling over words? why isn't she mean about it? why doesn't she get defensive at the question? why did she lash out again when he expressed acceptance?
i think these scenes revolving around her queerness indicate it as such; that ellie never told joel for fear of a response, that she lets him think what he wants because that's the easiest way for it to be. then, when she's ready to face off against a homophobe, because that's the way things are, that's what she can expect, and joel defends her, she lashes out.
it's such a clear juxtaposition of support and hatred between joel and seth, and being faced with joel's acceptance is too much, makes her turn to the anger she'd been holding onto and reinforce what she thinks is true -- that she doesn't need him. and in the fallout, as her regret dawns on her, so too does the realization; he was protecting her, like always, without hesitation, over this thing she was always afraid he wouldn't accept her for.
in the porch scene, joel chooses his words wisely, and asks if dina is her girlfriend -- not "so you're gay?" or "why did you never tell me?" or "how long has this been a thing?" -- with such a casuality that it seems to throw her off. it's like ellie can hardly get the words out. she refutes the idea, fumbles for each following part of her response, is tense. she wasn't prepared for the question.
and when he finally asserts his support for her, in as explicit terms as he can, you can see ellie become emotional, touched for a moment but overcome, before she launches into the defensive again, exactly like at the dance scene -- meeting his kindness with hostility as a way to cope with her emotions.
and then, in response to her basically saying her life doesn't matter, he affirms that it does.
so he's now affirmed two things that ellie has doubted: that he accepts her being a lesbian, and that her life matters. a conflation of the two, in ellie's mind, may have come after; and after that, her olive branch.
and yeah, him affirming these things for her is fully in the context of his overwhelming parental love for her and her complex feelings about being the cure, but within a queer subtext, it means more. it's such a familiar thing to slink around loved ones and hide being gay/queer for fear of any type of response, and lying by omission in conversation just to keep that state of peace, of normalcy. ellie, with all her brutishness and bravery, falls into it like anyone else, because even while mad at him, she valued that response from him.
a lot of people seem to think that the approach to ellie's queerness is nonchalant, that it's just some unrelated thing about her, but i think that it holds more weight in the narrative that what is explicitly spelled out. it's subtle but it was a deliberate choice to place her queerness at the center of the confrontation. i think that's why ellie's relationship with dina took center stage in the story, and why so much time is devoted to just them -- because her being queer matters to her character, but in a way that perhaps only a queer person can see, analyze, and appreciate (without being blatant enough to anger certain other fans).

interlude; aaron is trying to study, andrew is being annoying (pt1, pt2)
Cool air blows in from the open window at Aaron’s back. He counts to ten in his head before slowly closing his textbook instead of hurling it at the wall like he wants to. He’s been here for the better part of an hour. Nothing is sticking in his brain and it’s not for a lack of trying; he remembers information just as easily Andrew does. It’s the rhythmic clicking of two pens that’s been distracting him for almost as long as he’s been sitting here.
“Can you stop,” he says without looking over his shoulder at where his brother is sitting.
Andrew is perched on the windowsill like he has a habit of doing in his own room. Now he’s doing it in Aaron and Matt’s. Last time Aaron glanced at him, there were three lit cigarettes placed in a triangle in front of him, their smoke wafting out the window. In Andrew’s lap was a closed textbook.
“I am not doing anything,” comes the bored response.
“You’re pissing me off. Stop clicking.”
“My bad,” says Andrew.
A moment later, the clicking pens start tapping against the windowpane.
Aaron inhales deeply.
Ever since the surgery, ever since he randomly stopped smoking, Andrew has been insufferable—hence him sitting in Aaron’s room instead of his own. He hardly says anything, that much hasn’t changed, but he has intentionally started doing stupid shit he knows gets under people’s skin. Aaron has tried being patient, but his virtues only extend so far.
He turns around on the couch to look at Andrew, who is staring at the burned-out cigarettes like they hold all the world’s mysteries.
Despite his better judgment, he asks, “Did Neil kill Grayson Johnson?”
Andrew stills. It’s an eternity before he faces Aaron and that too-calm expression on his face is answer enough. Even if no one else can, Aaron finds it easy to read the surprise in his brother’s features. One of the only good things about sharing a face.
“Grayson killed himself,” Andrew says.
“And Seth choked on his own vomit. Why did Neil visit Jean the same night Grayson died—the same night Grayson beat the shit out of Jean?”
Andrew blinks at him slowly. “I don’t remember telling you Neil visited Jean.”
“You didn’t have to.”
Aaron holds back a smug grin. He’s not going to implicate Katelyn. He’s not going to tell Andrew that Neil and Jean went to a restaurant with another man and got Thai food, or that the two of them were approached by someone else, or that the waitress was Katelyn’s friend who texted Katelyn to tell her Neil Josten was at her restaurant. Katelyn told Aaron the next morning, thinking it was a random happenstance. Even Aaron didn’t think anything of it—Neil is fucking weird and his interest in Jean is just as baffling—until news broke that Grayson Johnson died that same night.
Andrew throws a pen across the room with impressive aim. Aaron dodges it neatly.
“Better for everyone involved if you mind your own business,” he says.
Aaron shrugs. “Stop being annoying and let me study then.”
The clicking doesn’t pick up again and Aaron knows his brother is retracing every conversion he’s had in the last few months. Where he might have slipped. It’s amusing enough to lift Aaron’s spirits, knowing he’ll never figure it out unless Aaron or Katelyn tell him and neither will.
The window shuts. Heavy footsteps as Andrew crosses the room and tosses cigarette butts at Aaron on his way out.
“Don’t blow an ulcer,” Aaron calls after him.
Andrew sticks him a middle finger without stopping.
(there is one, maybe two parts left that make me sick just to think about so i thought something silly would be a nice break. ao3 link here)

Hello mako! This is for the weekly request, ZZZ. May I request reader trying to find out Qingyi's favourite tea, please?? With how much she likes teasing and pranks I'm sure she wouldn't say easily. Thaaanks!
hihi amu! i don’t know too much about qingyi since I sadly skipped her for zhu yuan. lemme know if I got things wrong !
“ captain zhu yuan, is this qingyi’s cup, right? “
you asked, walking into the break room, pointing down at the seemingly hot cup of tea. it looked bit darker than usual. well, a little too dark to be straight tea. zhu yuan gives you a confusing look as she puts some of her gear in her locker. “ yes it is, qingyi left for a bit—wh-what are you doing?! “
with nimble fingers, you take it upon yourself to bring the cup of “tea” to your lips and sipped on it.
“ bleh! “ you abruptly spit out the contents of the cup at the sudden bitter taste of black coffee. “ what the fu—excuse my professionalism, but why in the hell would she ever drink black coffee? does she even drink— oh. .wow. “
qingyi probably left this there unattended for someone like you to come along and drink it. like, has she ever left her precious tea sitting alone? why couldn’t she be normal and tell you her favorite tea? that damn geezer.
“ qingyi. “ you sat down besides the android 5 minutes before a special squad meeting. she hums, blowing steam away from her fresh, hot cup of tea.
“ yes? “
“ hurry, tell me what tea you’re drinking right now. “
she sighs, casually taking a long sip of her tea. “ why? do you want a cup? “
“ you—no, i don’t want a cup, i just want to know what kind of tea you’re drinking! “ you nearly whined, pouting.
“ how demanding. if you really want to know, young one, it’s green tea. “
“ but, is it your favorite though? “
zhu yuan walks into the room with a few folders tucked under her arms. your brow twitch with annoyance as qingyi takes her sweet time with answering your question. she hums thoughtfully, taking a another sip from her tea. “ qingyi, stop stalling and tell me—“
“ okay everyone, it’s almost time to start the meeting. “
“ DAMN IT! “ you shouted out of impulse and the room goes quiet, perplexed and amused stares locking onto you. embrassment swells in your belly and you sink into the chair.
“ and she’s not even telling me! she’s constantly ducking and dodging my questions, deliberately leaves her cups of “tea” behind, and then teases me like “ it is best to wait for an answer before demanding it, you youngsters are always so impatient nowadays. what if I can’t recall my favorite brand of tea? i’m quite old you know. “ you imitated her mannerisms to seth and sighed irritably.
“ erm, have you tried sitting down and drink tea with her to find out? “
“. . . “
“ hm, finally changed your approach? “ qingyi asks, a sliver of smugness in her voice as she prepares a pot of tea for you and her. you sighed with defeat, sitting back into the chair. “ yes. i’ve been impatient anyways right? i’ll wait for an answer over a cup of tea with you. “
she chuckles, pouring the pot’s contents into two separate cups and gently slide one towards you. “ pleasant to see you take heed to my advice for once. “
you open your mouth to throw a remark at her before closing it with a grumble. “ whatever. . “ she gently slides the cup to you. with a lingering gaze, you watch as qingyi blow away the steam from her cup and take a small sip. “ hot water cures impurities and is a remedy for many things humans get sick with. “
raising a brow, you avert your gaze down to the steaming cup of. .tea? its contents was clear as can be, making you question about what type of tea she brewed up. you hesitantly grab ahold of the cup and tipped it to your lips. you jump 2 feet into the air from your seat as the scorching water burns your poor tongue.
“ o-ouch! th-this is pure hot water! not tea! “
“ ding ding. “

wondering if punk's gonna get the mania win by dodging roman's spear so he hits seth, using the same tactic he did to beat them in that 3 on 1 back in 2013. maybe he doesn't get a win doing that, but i feel like it's probably gonna happen at some point in that match

I laughed as Amelia made a joke about our experience a few hours ago in the haunted house we work at. I was packing my bag to go home while she was staying to give a tour of the house to some guests who where going to check it out and come back the next night.
“Hey, unheard your tour is being recorded for YouTube,” I commented and she smiled a bit giddy. “It is! I really can’t wait, this is actually so exciting, does my hair look alright?” She asked and I laughed.
“You look amazing, don’t worry,” I reassured and she winked at me in a flirtatious way, making me blow her a kiss. “We are such girlfriends,” she joked and I shook my head with a small laugh.
“Hey, wasn’t one of your ex boyfriends a YouTuber who recorded in haunted places?” She asked and I nodded.
“Yeah, he still is, I didn’t really speak with him anymore… sometimes I wish I still did,” I admitted making her wiggle her eyebrows at me. “Oh don’t look at me like that, it’ll never happen, I know it,” I sighed and she gave me a reassuring smile.
“It’ll be fine hun, if nothing works out you can always marry me,” she said and I gave her a look. “I’m sure your husband would love that,” I said and she waved me off.
“I’d dump him for you,” she said and I snorted, going to hit her arm but she quickly dodged and stuck out her tongue at me.
“What’s the name of the YouTubers coming here? I’ll look them up to see if they’re anything interesting,” I said, grabbing my phone.
“Oh, Sam and Colby,” she said and I paused, looking at her in surprise. “You’re joking right?” I asked and she shook her head.
“No, why?” She questioned and then her face hit with realisation. “Don’t tell me one of them is your ex,” she said and I nodded.
“Jup, Colby is my ex, and I think this is my cue to go before they arrive,” I said and she hid back a smile, making me glare at her.
Of course, as if the world hated me, we heard a car arrive outside, making me want to sink trough the ground right at that moment.
With a teasing grin, Amelia walked towards the front door and I followed her, not like I could escape now anyway, my car was parked outside.
When Amelia opened the door, I immediately noticed the two of them and seemingly two friends. Sam was holding a camera and filming himself and another guy, then he pointed the camera at me and Amelia making our way outside.
His eyes visibly widened at the sight of me and he instinctively pointed the camera at Colby who seemed to be rather shocked when he noticed me.
“Hi, Amelia,” she introduced herself, shaking Sam’s hand and then Colby’s, followed by the other two who where apparently called ‘Josh and Seth.’
“Hey,” Same greeted me with a smile and opened his arms, making me pull him into a hug. We had become great friends after me and Colby became a couple, but when he and I broke up, I stopped contacting Sam as it was kind of a unwritten rule.
“Hi, it’s been a while,” I said with a small grin. I shook both hands of Josh and Seth, introducing myself, before turning to Colby who seemed lost in how to greet me.
With a small smile I opened my arms to invite him for a hug which he excepted, holding me tightly and resting his chin on my head, just like old times.
“I didn’t know you two where coming,” I said, taking a step back. “We didn’t know you worked here,” Colby said and I chuckled.
“Isn’t it a small world?” Amelia said, making Sam point the camera at her.
“You’re our guide then, right?” He asked and she nodded. “That would be me,” she answered.
“Do tell us about yourself,” Colby said and she shot me a nervous glance, making me give her a thumbs up.
“Alright, I am Amelia Cooper, I’ve been working at the -haunted house name- for about three years now and I’ll be your guide this evening,” she said and I smiled at her approvingly.
“Great, and you can introduce yourself aswel,” Sam then pointed the camera at me, making me chuckle.
“Alright then,” I said, telling the camera my name. “I have been working here for- I think for almost a year now, and I won’t be your guide for this evening because I am actually leaving, but I’m going to be here tomorrow night to receive you for your night alone,” I explained.
“Alright, great, let’s go inside then,” Sam said and shut of the camera. “I didn’t hear that you moved,” Sam commented and looked at me.
“Oh, I didn’t really, I just live with Amelia trough the week but I mostly go bakc home around the weekend, so I kind of live her, but I kind of don’t,” I said making him chuckle.
“Alright, sorry if I’m being clueless, but you know each other, because…?” Seth pointed a finger at the three of us a bit confused.
“Oh, ex girlfriend,” I pointed at Colby, making both Josh and Seth nod in understanding. “But, you guys can go inside to start the tour, I’m heading home because I think the cat will kill me if I am to late with feeding him,” I said making Amelia let out a noice of offense.
“Was that a jab at my cat?” She asked giving me a scolding look, I stuck my tongue out, making her chuckle. “I’ll see you later,” she waved and gestured at the boys to follow her, making her way back inside.
I wanted to walk towards my car but was stopped when Colby laid his hand on my shoulder. I turned to him with a questioning look.
“Hey, Uhm, I wondered if you wanted to hang out later tonight?” He asked and I felt heat rise to my cheeks, because it is actually something I really hoped he’d ask but I was to afraid to do it myself.
“Yes, sure, sounds fun,” I said with a small smile. “I’ll text you my address, you may pick me up when you’re done with the tour, we can head to the fair that’s in town,” I said, knowing he loves those.
He gave me an excited grin. “I’ll be there,” he promised and then followed his friends inside.
Later that evening, I got a text from Colby saying he was on his way. Amelia was home already and she told me he and his friends were headed back to the hotel first before Colby would pick me up.
It made sense, as they only had one car at the moment.
After about 15 minutes, there were knocks on the door and I quickly shot up from the couch and opened the door, finding Colby looking at me with a smile.
“Ready to go?” He asked and I nodded. “Of course I am,” I said and yelled a goodbye to Amelia before following Colby to his car.
“So, what have you been up to?” He asked as we were driving to the fair.
“Nothing much, just mostly working at the house,” I shrugged with a small smile. “I became interested in those kind of things because of you, you know,” I said, masking him give me a small smile back.
“I already hoped so,” he said, sending me a small wink, making me bite the inside of my lip, trying not to blush.
“And you?” I asked. “What have you been up to?” I liked at him while he kept his eyes on the road.
“Mostly just making video’s,” he admitted. “And of course a few party’s here and there,” he grinned slightly, making me chuckle.
“Yeah, I expected nothing less,” I gave him a look, making him give me a ‘guilty’ look back. It caused me to laugh and shake my head.
It was silent for a moment when we stopped laughing. It wasn’t really awkward, but not comfortable either.
“And uh,” he started. “Any new relationships?” He asked, a bit too curious if you ask me. Bit I couldn’t blame him, I’d been aching to ask him the same question after all.
“Oh, I dated about two guys between the time we broke up and now, but one was just a small fling and the other was a bit serious, but I eventually broke it off because he wasn’t really my type after all,” I admitted.
The guy I had been in a relationship with had been nice and all, but nothing like Colby, he was not what I was looking for and I had to break it off because it was unfair for him.
“What about you?” I asked, maybe a bit to intrigued, but what could I say, I really wanted to know if he had found better than me.
“Just a few flings really, nothing serious,” he admitted and looked at me. “Nothing like you,” he said, making me blush and smile rather proudly.
We eventually arrived at the fair and I immediately dragged him towards my favourite ride, making him laugh and tell me I was like a child, making me roll my eyes and whack his arm.
We stayed at the fair for multiple hours, and just like in the movies, he managed to win a huge teddy bear for me.
We eventually sat down somewhere to eat and I yawned as we sat at the table.
“Tired?” He asked with a chuckle and I nodded, combing a hand trough my hair. “I’ll bring you home, come on,” he stood up a reached out a hand, I took it and he pulled me up.
We threw away the paper cups and trays and headed towards the car.
He took my hand in his, making me look up at him with a smile, I’d missed how our hands fitted so perfectly together.
“Thank you, for tonight,” I said at the excit of the fair and he smiled at me. “I’m happy you wanted to come,” he answered.
“Can I be honest with you?” I asked and he nodded rather interested. “I really missed you,” I said, pursing my lips slightly.
“I missed you too,” he admitted with a low chuckle, I gave him a soft smile and looked into his eyes, I’d missed those eyes.
His eyes shot down to my lips for a second and I could feel excitement start to bubble in my stomach. I shot a longing glance at his own lips, making him grin at me.
He put up a hand and rested it on my cheek. “May I kiss you?” He whispered and I chuckled.
“Obviously,” I said, before standing on my toes and connecting our lips.

Something different pt 6
Tumblr media
jey uso x oc reader
warning : a little bit of angst insecurity bit of age gap scars
Jey stepped off the airplane and walked down the jetway, pulling out his phone to quickly text Lola that he had landed: “Landed safe.”
As he puts his phone back in his pocket, Cody caught up with him, curiosity written all over his face. “So, you’re still not going to tell us what’s going on between you and Lo?”
Jey chuckled, shaking his head. “Come on, man! It’s really not that deep.”
“Not that deep? We were out looking for you because you lost track of time,” Cody pressed, a grin spreading across his face.
“Okay, fine! We’re hanging out. Okay,” Jey admitted, a slight blush creeping up his cheeks.
Rhea and Sami joined them, having overheard the conversation. “Come on, Jey! You can’t just leave us hanging like that!” Rhea exclaimed.
Jey sighed, realizing he was outnumbered. “Alright, we’ve been spending time together, and I really enjoy it! Happy now?”
“Very!” Sami laughed, nudging him playfully. “So, what’s next for you two?”
Jey shrugged, trying to keep it casual. “Just taking it one step at a time. Let's focus on tonight first.”
“Fair enough but the moment you two make it official, you better tell us everything,” Cody said, as they headed toward baggage claim.
Tumblr media
When they got to the hotel, Jey spotted Damian, Roman, and Solo lounging in the lobby.
“There he is!” Solo called out, a teasing grin on his face. “Hope you don’t go running off again.”
“Yeah, we were about to put up ‘Missing’ posters,” Roman added, crossing his arms with a faux-serious expression.
Jey laughed, rolling his eyes. “Very funny! I’m here now, aren’t I?”
Damian leaned against the reception desk, smirking. “Yeah, but we almost had to send a search party. What were you doing, sleeping in?”
“Just enjoying some time with Lo,” Jey admitted.
The guys exchanged knowing looks. “So it’s serious now, huh?” Damian teased, raising an eyebrow.
“Come on! It’s not like that,” Jey insisted, brushing off their teasing.
“Lo? Who’s Lo?” Solo asked, raising an eyebrow.
“His girlfriend he won't tell us about,” Rhea chimed in, walking over with a playful smile and folding her arms.
“Guys, can we not make this a thing?” Jey pleaded, embarrassment creeping in. “Lo is just… a friend.”
“Just a friend you have been with?” Roman shot back, unable to hide his smirk.
“Exactly!” Rhea leaned in closer. “You clearly have a vibe going on.”
Damian chuckled, nudging Jey. “So when are we going to meet this ‘friend’?”
“Definitely not anytime soon,” Jey replied.
“Can you at least spill the beans on what she’s like?” Naomi asked.
Jey sighed, realizing he couldn’t escape their curiosity. “Alright, fine! She’s fun, smart, and creative, and I really enjoy hanging out with her. Happy now?”
“Not really” Damian replied with a grin.
“We want pictures!” Rhea chimed in.
“Let’s just get to the area, like Jey said,” he said, trying to steer the conversation elsewhere. “Then we’ll see what happens from there.”
With that, they grabbed their room keys and headed to the elevators.
Tumblr media
Jey navigated his way backstage, expertly dodging the busy crew members. The air was filled with chatter, laughter, and the faint sound of music from the main stage. When he finally reached the locker room, he opened his locker with a soft clang and grabbed his bag.
As he pulled out his phone, he bit his lip, feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety. Hoping for a response, he decided to text Lola again, fingers flying over the screen as he typed out a quick message, eager to see what she would say this time.
“Hey man, what are you up to?” Seth asked, leaning against the doorframe with a curious smirk.
“Probably texting Lo,” Sami chimed in, strolling in with a playful swagger.
“Who’s Lo?” Seth inquired, raising an eyebrow in mock surprise.
“Just his mystery girlfriend,” Damian said, appearing from behind Sami with a grin. “He’s been keeping her under wraps. What’s the story, Jey?”
“Yeah, come on! Spill it!” Sami urged, elbowing Jey lightly. Jey rolled his eyes but couldn’t suppress a smile.
“Nothing to spill yet, guys. Just trying to see if she’ll reply,” Jey said, trying to sound casual while excitement bubbled in him. As he waited, the uncertainty gnawed at him a little, but the thought of Lola brightened his mood.
“Okay, don’t be out all night again,” Damian teased, crossing his arms and raising an eyebrow. The others laugh.
“Not planning on it,” Jey replied with a grin, pocketing his phone.
Let’s head back to the hotel and get some rest. We’ve got a busy day tomorrow,” Sami said.
“Agreed,” Jey said, making sure he had everything. With one last look at the locker room, they stepped out into the bustling hallway, the sound of their footsteps echoing off the walls.
As they made their way toward the exit, the excitement from the performance lingered. They chatted about the evening’s highlights, but Jey’s mind kept wandering back to Lola, hoping she would respond before they settled in for the night.
Tumblr media
Jey and Sami arrived at their hotel room, the faint sounds of the city filtering through the window. Jey tossed his bag on the floor and flopped onto the bed, letting out a sigh of relief as he sank into the comfort of the mattress.
Just as he began to relax, his phone buzzed in his pocket, he quickly pulled out his phone and saw that Lola had replied. He tapped the notification to read her message. A smile spread across Jey’s face as he read her words. He could feel the excitement bubbling up again.
While they chatted away, the bathroom door swung open, and Sami stepped out, a fluffy towel casually draped over his shoulders. Water droplets glistened on his skin as he ran a hand through his damp hair, raising an eyebrow while glancing at Jey.
“What’s up?” Jey asked, trying to sound relaxed, even though his heart raced.
Sami smirked and replied, “What are you up to?” playfully teasing.
“Just talking to Lo,” Jey said, attempting to brush it off. He shot Sami a quick grin, but the warmth spreading through him made it hard to keep his composure.
“Seems a little more than just talking,” Sami teased. “Just don’t be up all night!” His laugh, and Jey couldn’t help but chuckle along, feeling bit both embarrassed and amused by the friendly banter.
Tumblr media
Lola sat on her couch, fingers quickly tapping on her phone screen. The soft glow illuminated her face as she texted Jey.
“Are you texting Jey?” Molly asked from the kitchen, her voice playful.
“Maybe,” Lola replied with a teasing grin, glancing over her shoulder. She could feel her heart flutter a bit at the thought of Jey's responses.
Molly leaned against the doorframe, crossing her arms with a smirk. “What’s going on with you two? It seems like there’s something more.”
Lola shrugged, trying to play it cool, but the warmth creeping into her cheeks gave her away. “We’re just talking… for now.” She bit her lip, excitement bubbling up inside her.
“Why's he in Canada, though?” Maxine asked as she settled into Lola’s recliner.
“He's got to travel for work,” Lola replied
.
“What does he do?” Molly chimed in.
“I have no clue. I asked him once, but he never really gave me a straight answer,” Lola said, shaking her head.
“Wait, he never told you what he does for a living? And you didn’t bring it up again?” Molly said, plopping down on the couch with a raised eyebrow.
Lola sighed, a mix of frustration and intrigue in her voice. “Yeah, I don’t know. When I pressed him about it, he just changed the subject like it was no big deal. It’s kinda weird, right?”
Maxine leaning back in the recliner. “Really? Why didn’t you just ask him again? He could be a serial killer!”
“Or he could be a jobless bum living with his parents,” Molly added, trying to keep a straight face. “But seriously, why don’t you just ask him again? You need to know what you’re getting into here!”
Lola bit her lip, contemplating. “I guess I could, but I don’t want to scare him off.”
“Well, you need to talk to him. Just tell him he needs to open up a bit,” Molly insisted, crossing her arms.
“Hey, did you record Monday Night Raw for me?” Maxine asked, her eyes lighting up with excitement.
“Yeah, here,” Lola said, handing Maxine the remote.
“I don’t want to watch WWE,” Molly chimed in, wrinkling her nose.
“Well, it’s my turn to pick something, and I choose WWE,” Maxine declared, that mischievous grin on her face as she grabbed the remote and switched on the TV.
As the opening theme blared from the speakers, Lola discreetly pulled out her phone and texted Jey, her fingers flying over the screen. “What should I say?” she wondered aloud, glancing up from her phone.
“Jey Uso! Is back” Maxine exclaimed, her eyes glued to the television.
Lola looked up from her phone, suddenly realizing who was on screen. “Wait, what?” she said, her expression shifting to one of shock.
“What’s wrong?” Molly asked, raising an eyebrow at Lola’s now-astonished face.
“Jey… he’s on TV!” Lola stuttered, her heart racing. “I didn’t know he was a wrestler!”
Maxine leaned forward, her excitement palpable. wait what he really the guy you’ve been texting?”
Lola nodded slowly, still in awe. “Yeah, that’s him. I just texted him!”
Molly burst into laughter. “So, you’ve been chatting with a WWE super star, and you didn’t even know it? This is wild!”
Just then, Lola’s phone buzzed, and she quickly glanced at the screen. It was a message from Jey: “I have time to fly to Philadelphia.”
Her heart raced. Overwhelmed, she turned off her phone. “I need to think,” she muttered, getting up and heading to her room.
“Molly called after her, “Hey, where are you going?
But Lola didn’t respond. She shut the door behind her, leaning against it as she tried to process everything. Was this really happening?

Tumblr media
I yawned as I drove to my best friend's house after hearing that her pasty-faced boyfriend had broken up with her. “Bells! vine tan pronto como pude!” I said barging into the house and the young girl's room. I walked in and saw her crying in her bed “Okay pause those sheets are so tacky what the hell” I said carefully sitting down and taking her in my arms letting her cry into my velvety tracksuit. “let's get you better amor” i said kissing the top of her head and helping her stand up. I got her into the shower, washed her face, and put her back to bed as it was already 10:00.
I woke her up bright and early and got her into the bathroom to do something to her face and hair you know to bring that Arizonan girl out and honestly, it worked wonderfully. I put on another tracksuit this time it's dark green and I give Bella a matching one “Tan guapa” I complimented her smiling softly seeing her face turn red alright let go I say grabbing my keys “Wait you driving?” Bella asked “yea silly it’s a sports car though so prepárate,” I said stepping outside and unlocking my Dodge Charger and turning it on making the engine rev like crazy. I smiled as I headed towards the school that I recently enrolled in.
I pulled into a parking spot seeing all the different people including some of Bella’s acquaintances that she showed me a picture of. I stepped out of the car looking around seeing her pasty faced ex-boyfriend through my shades looking right at me, I smirked slightly walking over and opening the door for Bella and helping her out. I chuckled seeing her stumble due to me going 30 over the speed limit. She put her arm around my waist covering up my back tattoo i did the same as we walked through the parking lot ignoring the stares. Thankfully i was able to get all of my classes with Bella so we walked to class together.
Time Skip
It was the end of the day and me and Bella were walking outside and to my car just to find a bunch of random people standing around my car “watch this” i snickered as i pressed the automatic on button and watched as the people jumped and yelped by me turning on the car. I open the door and get in and so does Bella i peered into the mirror seeing the Cullens staring at my car “they stare a whole lot” i said raising my eyebrows. I drove out of the parking lot “ hey can you take me to this place my friend wants to hang out” Bella said “sure.
We made it to this guy named Billy’s house and when you pulled up several shirtless dudes where sitting on the front deck. I got out and immediately smelled like there were other werewolves and i guess they could smell me too because they immediately turned in my direction. “Guys this is y/n l/n” Bella hesitantly introduced me i smiled politely at the boys “well I’m Seth that’s Quill, Embry, and Jacob” the boy said smiling sweetly “n/n wanna come with us to La Push there’s gonna be a bonfire” Bella asked “uh sure i wont stay too long though a bitch needs her sleep or we wont make it to school tomorrow” i laughed “ well I’m gonna go home i need a shower” i sighed pressing the automatic button on my car key turning up the car making the engine rev. I walked to my car “you stayin’ right?” I looked at Bella as i opened the door, she nodded a few times and i got in my car and sped off.
Bella’s POV
I watched as my friend sped away in her car “soo where’s she from? I know she wasn’t born here” Quil asked “Yeah she’s from LA” I responded as I sat down next to Jacob “What’s LA?” Jacob asked with a raised eyebrow “LA stands for Los Angeles it's in California” I said leaning back and pulling out my phone to text y/n the time she can come back and where. Jacob leaned his head to the side to see what I was doing “So this y/n girl…is she single?” Quil asked as he leaned back in his chair licking his lips “Surprisingly yes” I said “Honestly I don’t even know how or why she’s single I guess the boys in California didn’t catch her attention” I shrugged.
“Are you all ready? And do we have everything we need?” Jacob called out as he finished loading the supplies into his truck “Yeah we’re ready” I called out getting into the passenger seat and the other boys got into the back seat. I dialed y/n’s number and waited for her to answer” Hello?” She answered, “Hey we’re on our way to La Push where are you now?” “Umm I’m at a shopping center right now getting Auntie Annie’s” she answered “Oooh get me a pretzel please,” I asked “ está bien I’m about to leave now no estoy muy lejos” “Okay bye” “Peace”. I hung up the phone “Was she speaking Spanish?” Seth asked “yea it’s her first language” I said looking out the window as the trees turned into cliffs and this cliff turned into the beach. It was slightly crowded but I wasn’t bothered by that. The bonfire was set up and I was waiting patiently for y/n to come with my delicious pretzel.
Y/n’s POV
I pulled into the parking lot and looked around before I got out holding Bella’s pretzel and a lemonade in my other hand I walked towards the bonfire which was actual a long distance away so I started sipping on my frosted lemonade. The soft light of the fire grew larger as I neared I scanned for a spot to sit at and slightly tensed up seeing that the only spot open was by that Jacob guy. No I don’t hate him or anything he’s actually very attractive in fact he looks like he was sculpted by a god or something. And ohh don’t get me started on his eyes and the way his brows furrow- that’s enough rambling for one day I thought to myself. I saw Bella get up happily scurrying towards me grabbing the pretzel and taking a bite happily. “Oh um there aren’t anymore seats by me so I guess you’ll have to sit with Jay” Bella said looking around “oh okay” I said sitting down on the bench by the young boy.
Time Skip
Everyone was laughing and enjoying their time Jacob and I grew silent but I could feel his eyes on me. Bella and the 3 other boys were talking and laughing but I kind of just zoned them out by playing a random game on my phone. “So y/n how’s the weather there in California?” Jacob asked as he sat up straight “extremely hot I can say that” I laughed breathlessly “so do you like it over here more?” I grew silent for a moment looking back at Bella and the others joking around “I guess you could say that though I do miss my family” I smiled softly looking back at Jacob. I could see a slight hint of red in his cheeks but I dared not to say anything about it. “Alright y/n I’m ready to go” Bella said getting up “okay” I said getting up “it was nice meeting you all” I said softly walking over to Bella and turning around. “Yeah it was nice meeting you” Seth said as the others nodded in agreement I softly smiled and turned around to see Bella already walking off I smacked my lips jogging after her.
We had finally made it to my car and we got in and I drove away “soo Jacob huh~ think he’s cute?” Bella asked teasingly and laughed when I blushed “I think he’s really into you y/n~” she laughed “I should set you two up” I laughed nervously “I mean I wouldn’t be complaining he is cute” I said as I pulled into the driveway and got out the car. “Oh by the way me and Edward are okay now I guess but I don’t know if we’re back together yet, also prom is Friday night and I think you should come” Bella said as we walked into the house “okay but I don’t trust that pasty-face bastard, and yea we can go to prom can you come dress shopping with me?” I asked “sure”.
“Alright goodnight Bells” I yawned as I walked to my room, I laid down and called my mom as it was only 8:00 where she was “hi momma” I spoke sweetly “hi my sweet baby how is mare you doing?” My mother cooed “ah I’m alright schools pretty nice here and I love the weather” I gushed “that’s good sweetie now have you met anyone? Any boys?” My mother asked slyly. I chuckled nervously “there’s this one boy but when I first met him I got a whiff of that wet dog smell so I think he’s one of us including his friends or should I say pack” I whispered “another pack? Well I’m not surprised. You haven’t come across any of those cold ones have you?” She asked “unfortunately yes, I have and I think Bella has a relation shit with one of them” I sighed “god well if you need any help let out a howl and your siblings will be there in a bling of an eye” “I will momma, I’m going to go to sleep now okay?” “Alright love call me if you need anything alright? Bye now” I hung up the phone and placed it on my nightstand and rolled over to look at the ceiling. I waited for a few minutes just in case then I softly closed my eyes.
I was woken up by my 5:00 alarm and got up with a groan. I quickly got ready and headed downstairs just to see Bella introducing her so called “boyfriend” to Charlie “good morning Charlie!” I say walking up to the chief giving him a big hug somehow he was still taller than me “mornin’” he huffed “y/n this is Edward” Bella said “hi.uh nice to meet you” I said looking him up and down questionably. “It’s nice to meet you too I’m about to take Bella to play baseball ball with my family would you like to join?” The pale-faced man smiled “I’ll go if Bells wants me to” I stated as I turned to the girl raising my eyebrow. “Yeah you should come but take your car so I can have a ride home,” Bella said smiling “Okay. “
“Y/n, I trust that you’ll keep Bella safe and not let any harm come to her correct?” Charlie asked sternly but I could see right through him “She won’t get into any type of danger as long as I’m breathing” I said with a glint in my eyes. “She’s safe with me,” I said holding up my hands and retracted my claws smiling. Charlie nodded and walked off to get ready for work Bella and her boyfriend were already outside I sipped on some water and pressed the button to turn on my car “I’ll follow you guys or you could just tell me the location so I can speed how I’d like to” I said looking at Edward “I think it’d be best if you followed since I don’t know where we’re going” “erm okay I guess” I shrugged walking to my car.
The car ride there was pretty long but I understand what Edward meant by him not even knowing where we were going himself because there were three other cars in front of him at last we finally made it to the destination three women got out of one car and three men came out of theirs I opened my door and got out and walked next to Bella and rested my elbow on her shoulder. “Y/n this is Alice, Rosalie, and Esme” “Hi y/n I’ve seen you in the halls but I was too nervous to come up to you,” Alice said chuckling nervously “I know right? When I first met her she looked like she wanted to fight me but she’s a sweetheart really” Bella smiled “Looks like it” Rosalie said eyeing me up and down. I heard a twig snap and immediately turned my head to see who it was kind of surprising the three women.
After I was introduced to everyone the game had finally begun and I could tell that they were very serious about the game. I stood at one of the bases and looked to my side seeing Bella at another one then all of a sudden she caught the ball and threw it at me and I could see in the corner of my eye Rosalie running towards me using her super speed I caught the ball just before she could slide to the base “you're out.” I said looking down at her. She stood up immediately and let out a growl as if she were trying to scare me I raised my eyebrow tilted my head and watched her stomp away.
“Stop!” Alice yelled everyone walked to her “Someone’s coming”
Yall i was so excited writing this yall do not knowww anywho not rlly proof read i just used Grammarly to correct sum stuff so if it sounds weird it’s that😓🙏

this is from another installation of sweet pea apple of my eye series where henry joins alex and ellie for thanksgiving at the lakehouse :,) hope you enjoy!!
Henry comes back out moments later with a towel around his waist, fully dry.
“That's not a shower, that's a spaceship. I thought you all were working class?”
Alex scoffs loudly but then dissolves into laughter. “Oh my god. Really dropped the polite boyfriend act in a heartbeat. I’ll come help you, just give me a second.”
“Would you like to join me?”
Alex blinks at him. “We are in my dad’s house.”
“Not for that, Christ. Just to get clean.”
“Uh huh.”
“Your mother called me handsome and Leo said I’m a charming young man. I’m not ruining that for your reprobate mind.”
“I’m not the one who suggested it!”
“We’ll get downstairs quicker. Plus I’m starving just…please?” Henry pouts his lower lip and Alex is a goner.
“Twist my arm, I’ll hop in a spaceship shower with my hot boyfriend. Oh, the horror.”
That earns him a towel thrown at his head but Alex is fast to dodge it and goes chasing after Henry who yelps and giggles.

I HELLO IM NOT MISSING THIS WEEK. Can I get some more of my demon boy?
WIP Wednesday (3/5) | Demon Neil AU (Part 24)
For the better part of an hour Andrew has been gritting his teeth and resisting the urge to slam his client in the back of the head with his fist. But he's not sure how much longer he's going to be able to do so. You see, this bastard will not keep still and Neil's snickering every time the idiot flinches is starting to drive Andrew insane. He likes to think himself a professional, but it is getting ridiculous.
"What's wrong with this guy?" Neil asks the sixth time Andrew almost gets himself horse kicked in the stomach. He dodges and takes a breath. "I mean... He was aware this process involved a needle, right?"
"I assumed so since we did the lines last week," Andrew says as he wipes down the leg he's working on. "Apparently not."
"What?" asks the guy on the table, turning to look at Andrew.
"If you kick me again, we're done. You can walk around with this half finished for all I care."
"What? You can't just—"
"I can do whatever I want," Andrew says, jamming a finger at him. "Put your headphones back on and stay still."
"Great bedside manner."
"Fuck you." Andrew whispers. His little outburst pays off though. The guy lies still as a corpse for the next thirty minutes and Andrew quietly applauds himself for not knocking him out. In fact, he thinks he deserves a cookie for his restraint. Neil laughs at that and makes fun of the tattoo in the same breath.
"I drew it, you know." Andrew tells him on an exhale, almost offended. Neil had liked his work earlier. What's wrong with this?
"No, no. I like your art. But why is it on the back of his leg?"
"People do weird shit."
"A bird on the leg's worth two in the bush?" Neil jokes and Andrew turns his head to hide a stupid laugh in his shoulder. "I mean he's not even going to be able to see it without a mirror. So what's the point?"
There are far weirder places to put a tattoo, Andrew thinks. For instance, the woman who got a Hello Kitty on her ass cheek a couple weeks ago— Andrew did not handle that job. That was Allison. Besides, Andrew himself has tattoos he can't really see, so...
"What tattoos?"
"I have one on my back, for instance. And there's one that lives under my sock—"
"Are you talking to yourself, Andy?" asks Seth's voice as he comes back in from his car. Andrew bites the inside of his jaw and Neil bitches about that.
"Shut up, Bryan." Andrew says, flipping him off with his free hand. Seth blows him a kiss and Andrew hopes that he and Reynolds make up before the day's over. They're both less unbearable when they're fucking. As soon as Seth turns around, Andrew sighs. "You're making me look fucking schizophrenic here, Neil."
"Hello, I'm in your head. You don't have to answer me out loud, Andy."
"Do not." Andrew thinks violently. Seth's bullshit aside, he will not tolerate the nickname coming from inside his own skull.
"Okay. Fine. How long does all this take?"
Andrew very nearly opens his mouth to answer, then catches himself. "Depends on the tattoo."
"This one specifically. I'm bored."
"Another hour or so, I think." Andrew thinks back as he surveys the phoenix he's put on the back of Cory's— that's Mr. Kicks-a-Lot's actual name— leg. "If the fucker stays still and I don't choke him to death first."
"Well, either way we'll be done with him soon."
Luckily for all parties involved, the rest of the phoenix goes off without a hitch. When Andrew is through he sets the machine aside and grabs a fresh tissue to wipe it all down. It's perfect. Neil hums his agreement and Cory finally risks looking at Andrew again, pulling his headphones off.
"Is it done?"
"Is it done." Andrew confirms with a nod of his head. Once Andrew is finished wiping it down, he lets Cory off the table and he wanders off to the mirror the check it out. Renee takes photos of it for the shop's social media accounts and after a few post-tattoo pleasantries— it is usually quite easy to be nice to someone when they aren't trying to kick your ribs in, Andrew finds— Cory leaves the shop all plastic-wrapped and satisfied.
"One down, one to go." Renee says with a smile. Andrew nods. His other appointment is a consultation, but they might go ahead and get started if the client's got the time.
He has nothing else to do today, after all. Except for finding a ride home that is not purgatory for Neil. He supposes he could call Kevin; he's pretty used to hauling Andrew around. He's been begging for the opportunity to buy Andrew a 'decent' car for years, the bastard. He's almost decided on it when Neil starts vibrating.
"Never mind, we'll walk."
"Andrew, I'll behave. I'm not allowed to control the body anyway so it's not like I would embarrass you."
"My body. Mine." Andrew reminds him. "We'll see."
