Would anyone be interested in origins smp AU but changed a bit?

Is it literally the origins universe, but with Missa and some changes in story.

Here's some ideas for the story so far.

When Phil was younger, he fell in love with a beautiful woman who was said to be the goddess who came from the moon.

He spoke to the moon every night, hoping she would come down again, and answer him.

But then it happened and she really visited him again, again and again.

Talking to him and slowly falling in love, too.

After some time she came to visit, but had a gift with her.

A gift that represents their love and their nightly talks she adored.

She gave him an avian egg.

The egg hatched to Tommy, who was really special. His hair was almost golden like, and his eyes were the shiniest blue.

But after some time, Kristin visited Phil and told him that she knows someone he would really like. ;-)

He got intrudused to a avian named Missa.

- they fell in love, and Kristin told Phil to get with Missa so he is not alone and has help with Tommy(?) She knew his love for her was strong but knew it was hard being alone without her there with him.

- Then Missa and Phil had their own eggs together

(Phil is the one who who laid the eggs- MPREG REAL?!?)

Tommy is now the oldest, and he is the one who got in a acident, and became a phantom.

His younger siblings are Chayanne and Tallulah.

Chayanne and Tallulah are twins while he is like 6 years older then them (?)

Kristin sometimes visits Tommy's dreams because he is made from stars and magic, I think(? This doesn't make sense, tbh-.)

Hi soup!! :) Random question but:

Do you ever think about how deeply they cared about each other? Wilbur knew everyone else there exclusively while he was infected, and yet he put nothing but trust in them during a life or death scenario. During his final moments, Charlie showed him unwavering kindness by listening to his rant and sparing him the pain of transformation by snapping his neck. Had Wilbur ever experienced something that genuinely caring and sweet before? If the apocalypse forced pure violence to become the greatest show of love you could give to someone, how do you think Wilbur felt when these abnormal strangers his life had happened to cross paths with went out of their way to search for him when he was lost, to kill for him when he was in danger, and ultimately to sacrifice their own safety and stability to preserve his? Do you think he felt guilt despite it all? He was infected after all, nothing but a liability, constantly endangering the team because he couldn't admit to himself that it was over; that he was a danger instead of something (something. not someone. at that point he could at least admit to himself that he wasn't human, whether that be because he was infected or because no human in any definition of the word would be as selfish and cruel as he was from not telling them) that could help. Do you think he was smiling as he faked his death? Do you think he honestly thought the zombies would kill him and he would finally do something useful for them? Or do you think he knew deep down he would survive the zombie encounter and he was only hoping the zombies would fuck him up bad enough that when the time came he inevitably killed his friends, they didn't recognize the face taking all their hopes and dreams out from underneath them because of one "tiny little scratch" and their misplaced trust.

Do you ever think about Tommy? Do you think about how he had seemingly finally found a family, and how he looked away from his older brother figure for half a second to try and be useful by keeping morale up, only to walk back into the room with the man he trusted the most holding Wilburs dead body and grieving? Do you think he resented Charlie in that moment? Or did he just hate himself? None of this would have happened if he had just been there a couple seconds sooner after all, maybe he could have done something. Do you think about him having to walk up to what he thought was Wilburs corpse and not have the time to say his goodbyes? The zombies were coming, and all he could hear outside of Charlie's shaky disassociated voice was the deafening sound of zombies slowly getting louder. Do you think about him holding Wilbur as gently as he could, knowing carrying his body to be devoured would be the last moments he could get to grieve him before being forced to run again, abandoning the man he loved like a brother for what felt like the millionth time since knowing him. Do you think about the way his jokes got scarcer since Wilbur was gone? How he stopped being as funny for the rest of the time they were in that base? Do you think it was because he couldn't bring himself to find humor in such a dark scenario, or do you think it was because he knew deep down he didn't have a real reason to try and keep himself and the group alive anymore. His reason to keep going was devoured by the zombies and time stopped, why should he care anymore? Do you think he froze when Wilbur hopped out of the trunk? Do you think he mirrored the same smile his brother died with when he was devoured? Was it because the torment was finally over? Or was it because deep down all he wanted was to be with him again, even in death?

What about Phil? He looked at Wilbur the way the proudest and most fearful dad would look at his extraordinary son. But unlike the others, Phil grieved Wilbur long before he was ever even gone. As soon as he saw the bite and the way Wilburs life was slowly leaving his eyes he knew that it was over. Phil ran gauntlets, running inbetween zombies in camouflage to open door after door, opportunity after opportunity, just to keep his family alive. All he wanted the whole time was to keep everyone else alive, and set them up to thrive after he was gone. Do you think Phil knew he was going to die the whole time? He was the slowest of the group, he was the weakest, he didn't have any special gifts or abilities, and he couldn't fend for himself as well as he could fend for others. Do you think he was so serious the whole time because he wanted to spend the last moments with his son, and because he knew he wouldn't have another chance to be of use? He wasn't surviving for himself, he was surviving to keep everyone else alive. Do you think if they ever actually succeeded in escaping, that he would be the one to take night watch every time? That he would be the one to give up his food rations so others wouldn't go hungry? That he would sacrifice every part of himself before he stole the chance at life from someone that he thought deserved it better? Do you think when he finally got the chance to keep everyone else alive through fighting off the hoard by himself, he went down through tears? Or do you think he matched the other members of his family and fought them head on with nothing but a spiked golf club, his pride, and a smile to match his two sons?

What about Ranboo? Do you ever think about them? Do you think about the way they seemed to be the only person truly in reality the whole time? They were the only one refusing to do the bits, to tag along with the jokes, yet they were also the only person to kill the zombies, or hold any weapons. Do you ever think about how he had the most sincerely human reaction to all of this? Maybe the reason he refused to kill the zombies was because they so closely resembled himself, and they couldn't bring themself to kill something that looked so much like a real person. He knew they weren't alive, he knew he was constantly in danger, yet they looked into the zombies eyes and saw the blank void staring back at him and chose pity and kindness above all. Do you think when they said everyone around them was insane they really meant it? He seemed strangely grounded in reality at all times, while everyone else disassociated to get themselves through the killing, and the way blood splattered on everyone's clothes dragging the physical remains of their deepest regrets along with them to their deaths. Do you think they put the gun down, finally feeling safe in that Uber knowing no zombie would be able to catch them? Do you think he was glad he never had to actually use it? Were they happy they could keep their humanity as they escaped? Do you think he hoped for a better life after it all? Do you think he looked into Wilburs eyes as he was devoring Tommy, his brother that Wilbur cared for so so much, and they still couldn't bring themselves to pull the trigger? Do you think in their attempt to keep their humanity, he indirectly robbed everyone he cared about of theirs?

And Charlie. Ohhhh Charlie. Do you ever think about how hard he fought? He knew how to create makeshift weapons, he knew parkour, he knew how to fight and shoot and fend for himself, and yet he didn't survive despite all of it. Do you ever think about how he trusted and loved Wilbur so deeply, yet he was forced to lay down with his arms around him as he started spouting nonsense? Do you think Charlie could think straight as Wilbur slid down and indirectly begged him for mercy? Maybe Charlie wasn't as kind as he once thought, because as he held Wilbur in his arms he slowly realized the only real way out of this nightmare would be without him. Do you ever think about how much Charlie loved him? How he stared at him the whole time, looking with widened and obviously trusting eyes, how he grabbed Wilburs arm and looked at the bite as soon as he noticed something was wrong? Do you ever think about how deeply he must have loved both him and everyone else in the group, and how he had to swallow down his humanity for a moment to gift Wilbur the last of his? Do you think about how he hesitated? He had his head in his arms, Wilbur was very obviously letting it happen, and yet he couldn't bring himself to do it. Maybe from his selfishness, and how he couldn't bring himself to kill his closest friend. Or maybe from his selflessness, and him digesting the fact that after this he would be a villain to the rest of the group. None of them knew how far Wilbur was gone, only Charlie noticed, maybe they would walk in on his grief and see nothing but a murderer? Do you think about how despite everything Charlie spared Wilbur from his pain and killed him anyway, helping him the only way he knew how during Wilbur's greatest time of need. Do you think Charlie stayed behind that gate willingly, knowing he wouldn't be able to live with himself after they escaped? Do you think Charlie died thinking he was useful, or he wasn't useful enough. Do you think he truly believed the others would resent him, or do you think he just resented himself with every life he stole. Do you ever think about how Charlie died thinking he saved their lives, not knowing his grief personified would be waiting for the rest of them to undo everything Charlie tried to do during his life? Do you think Charlie died with a smile not because he was happy that his last moments were spent truly believing because of his sacrifice his friends would live, but because he knew he wouldn't have to live with any of the guilt anymore?

Alien AU where Tommy’s a high priority passenger on SBI’s ship.

Who cares if his papers are forged? It’s the only way they’ll take a human — and he’s still on thin ice, upsetting their instincts with his mere presence. 

Unless he’s too sick to think.

It starts with a fever.

“What?” Techno says, as Tommy lingers in the doorway of his office. Quiet. Curt. *Annoyed.* “Do you need something?”

“I don’t feel good.”

Techno pushes away from his desk with huff. Maybe he’s annoyed, maybe it’s just a Piglin quirk.

Like the sunshine-warm hand that he presses against Tommy’s forehead. 

And the way his pupils grow, just a little. 

“You’re warm.”

Tommy leans against him as Techno walks him back to his quarters. 

And for once, the Piglin lets him press close. Even offers a steadying arm.

“I think—“ Tommy coughs, a thick, sick sound. “It’s a fever? Or—”

Techno coughs back.

No. Not a cough. 

A huff, a Piglin noise as he leans closer to Tommy’s feverish warmth. A *happy* noise, one Tommy’s only ever heard him make at Phil & Wilbur. 

And Tommy’s words stick in his congested throat. 

*That’s all it takes?* he almost says. *You haven’t cared, and now… this?*

‘This’ — the soft huff, the happiness softening Techno’s features. The arm around his shoulder, guiding Tommy to his room. 

“Get some rest.”

Tommy doesn’t.

He almost hopes Techno comes back, to make this heavy fatigue worth fighting. (Almost hopes the fever doesn’t break.) 

But it does — and when Techno lays a hand on his forehead next & finds it cold, he pulls away with a dissatisfied huff. 

And leaves.

It takes weeks to get sick again. Not that Tommy was counting, or willfully avoiding the medbay’s stash of pills with each headache. 

This time, it’s Phil that finds him, sluggish & dizzy from fatigue. 

And he’s just as gentle.

“You’re awfully quiet, mate.”

A hand brushes Tommy’s head. He nudges into it before he catches himself, movements slow & stuttering. Surely Phil will pull away, feathers ruffled, face pinched—

But he— 

He coos. 

Tommy’s done his research.

He knows why Phil’s avoided him. Avians are… skittish. Humans move too fast, too loud, and Tommy’s never been the exception.

Well. Not until now.

Wilbur’s the same.

He’d been prodding Tommy to sleep more. Something about his Phantom instincts, set awry by Tommy’s faltering sleep schedule — born from nightmares & panicked insomnia. 

But hey. Tommy doesn’t do much besides sleep, now. 

And they all like him like this.

One time, the fever doesn’t ease. Just *burns,* turning Tommy’s mind into a pained mess & his limbs into trembling lead. 

And when he finally manages to stumble to Techno’s door—

“Not now. I’m busy.”

“I— I feel r’lly bad.” 

Techno glances up from the mess of his desk, just for a second. “Just— go to the medbay, okay?”

*I don’t know if I’d make it there,* Tommy thinks, swaying dangerously. *I can’t. Not— not alone.*

But he just says, “Please?”

Techno huffs. Not in a good way, face tight with annoyance as he pushes a hand onto Tommy’s flushed forehead.

But even that doesn’t seem to make him happy. Tommy’s gut twists, low & sickening. 

Even before Techno mutters, “Are humans supposed to act like this?” 

Tommy blinks back tears, leaning into Techno’s hand.

*No. It’s— I’m just sick,* he thinks. 

It’s the truth, sure. But there’s something more true he can say.

“I jus’— I want a hug.”

Techno blinks. Frowns. Tommy’s heart drops, burning with shame—

And then Techno hugs him.

Arms thread around Tommy’s trembling shoulders, holding him close. 

He slumps, unable to stand. He doesn’t need to. Techno picks him up oh-so-gently — and though Tommy’s already burning, he desperately leans into Techno’s warmth.

But Techno stops. 

Walks out of his office.

And dumps Tommy onto the icy floor outside.

No. Not ‘dumps.’

Just… lets Tommy slide bonelessly from his arms after prying his fingers free. He even returns Tommy’s panicked, fever-thick noise with a soft huff.

And says, “Sorry, kid. Told you, I’m really busy. Go ask Phil for a hug, okay?”

Tommy tries to cling to his sleeve, delirious. *I can’t. I can’t stand. I can’t think. Just— stay. You have to know I’m sick, you have to—*

Techno brushes his hand off & stands. With a click, his office door shuts.

And Tommy’s alone.

(Techno doesn’t realize, busy with a mess of important papers. 

Not until he hears Tommy’s broken cries through the door, caught in a feverish nightmare.

And even when tries and fails to shake the kid awake, scoops him up, runs him to the medbay?

It’s almost too late.)

Hi Sif! I saw you addition to my post and I wanted to follow up and say that I did a more complete analysis looking at every character on the Dream SMP. I definitely didn't think my original post was going to spread as far as it did, since it was me just gushing my surface level thoughts. Part of the reason I followed up with a more thorough look was that I didn't want to let misinformation spread without actually looking at the full data.

I agree with some of your points but I would like to push a little and say that I do think that there is still a gender bias. While Hannah's situation might be more related to her later addition to the server and lack of prominent romantic relationships (beyond Tinarose, which still counts as a rarepair by numbers), the numbers for Niki are a significant outlier considering her early presence and involvement in numerous character/story arcs, especially compared to some characters that fared better than her.

I obviously can't control for every variable and every reason the numbers may show what they do. And there are many, many reasons people can and should use tags the way they do. But I think it is not too far-fetched to say that the Dream SMP fandom does have a problem with overusing tags that don't actually portray what happens in their fic AND with under-valuing characters with marginalized identities, which are partially reflected in the way relationship tags and character tags work together as they do today.

Here's the thing, I actually don't think that Niki's story count is weird at all, I think you may just be underestimating how popular certain pairings/platonic relationships are.

Let's take a comparison that I think is more than fair, c!Punz. Punz has a pretty comparable if not larger impact on the story than c!Niki. particularly towards the finales he plays different roles in them. But outside of c!Dream he doesn't have a lot of other major relationships that are popular in fanon, outside of him and c!Purpled. Despite this, c!Punz is often important to the plot, and he joined a full month before Niki did. Hell, he joined before Tubbo and just after Tommy.

But look at his top 10,

He does have 2/10 of his top relationships, but it's platonic/romantic drunz, so just different flavors of the same relationship. Outside of that, you see all the same super popular ships that you saw on ever other characters. It's just what happens in fandom.

As it turns out, some dynamics are just incredibly popular. DNF alone has nearly 25k fics written just for it. So honestly, with that many raw fics, it's hardly surprising that about 5% of them happen to feature Punz. Which ends up being more fics than the rest of his relationship category.

It's not that Punz is being incorrectly tagged in these fics, it's just that DNF is incredibly incredibly popular, and by virtue of that you end up here.

SBI similarly has about 21k fics, and Wilbur & Tommy have about 22k.

Niki's numbers aren't particularly weird, it's just that these particular dynamics are extremely popular. If you filter out just those three insanely popular dynamics, you get this,

Niki ends up in 4/10 (sorta 4/9 since one of these is just "no romantic relationships" which people use as a relationship tag for some reason rather than just putting that in additional tags).

I'm not saying that there aren't gender biases in how certain characters are treated. To some extent people often feel less comfortable shipping female creators because people in the past were being creeps about it and forcing it onto female creators in their chats (lots of creators had to address this with their chats, Techno included). Which will lead to a specific decline in the amount they get tagged in the ship section.

What I am saying is that I don't actually think there's a gender bias in how characters are tagged, and I don't think ship stats are a good way to prove that. Characters can be important to a story and not be tagged in the ship section. Also, frankly, a lot of times authors force in or tag a "popular" ship just to get more attention for their story, even if that ship isn't a huge part of the story.

I'm also not rely sure what exactly you want to see happen with a post like that. Like, should people not tag female characters that are relevant to their story if they're also tagging a really popular ship? I don't think that's a good idea. It is just kinda being the fandom police if that really is your take on it, if you come at it from the perspective that you get to decide how other people should tag. I know you said you weren't trying to be that, but like, that's how it comes off.

Some people will tag based on relevancy, some people tag as warnings. Both are valid methods of tagging, and you don't have a right to control how other people use their tags. That's something I believe very strongly in.

I've also never really been fond of turning enjoyment of characters into a moral thing either. People will enjoy what characters they connect to for any number of reasons, and shaming them for not enjoying particular female characters has never done anyone any good. I've seen it a thousand times before in every fandom I've been in and all it does is make people feel guilty. What actually does a lot more good is instead being excited about the female characters you like, and creating interesting fandom content for them that helps get other people interested.

If you want more people to be passionate about something, start from a point of passion, not a point of shame.

i heard the words techno centric au 👀 i'm listening

the moment which i desired but was never prepared to face came...

this is very messy but...

an AU where Tech is immortal and every now and then he meets the same 3(4 if you count Kristin) people. They all look the same, have the same names, act the same, treat him the same, but have different stories, perceive him differently and most importantly don't remember him.

there is also no way for him to find them. He watches them die and tries to look for them as time passes, but he never can find them. They are always the ones to find him first no matter what he does. So he just has to wait no matter how hopeless it is.

First he met Phil. For Phil he was a son, a comrade, a follower, a friend. He taught Techno a lot and gave him the ideals to live with and to stand for. Phil was the only one who Techno once told about his immortality, about Phil's past lives. The lives of him being a warrior, a leader, an artist, an architect, a loving father and an angel of death. All these lives he had a soulmate, Kristin, and sometimes Techno wondered if she's also immortal, but never asked.

He met Wilbur then. Wilbur was a brother, a leader, a friend, a musician, a traveler. Tech liked to change his story just to see how would it change Wilbur. Sometimes he liked to play an older brother role, sometimes they were twins, sometimes he was younger, sometimes he was just a friend of Phil's, but Wilbur always treated him with the same taunting smile even though Will himself always was changing.

He spend time with these two the most. If he could he would give his life for them, but he couldn't, so instead he would give them the world, slaughter anyone who'd stand on their way, that he could do.

He met Theseus last and didn't think of him much. He thought that this child was yet another mortal and was quite surprised to see him once again as time passed. He was already so used to Phil and Will and now he had to put up with someone new, understand their habits, understand them. Tommy had the most serious roles for the most unserious person to ever exist. But he did treat Techno with a huge amount of respect.

the AU doesn't focus on SBI that much thought, but on Techno's life without them. Slowly he realises that he doesn't really understand who he is as a person. He's been the blood god, a soldier, a warrior, a prince, a leader, a follower, a brother, a son, a friend. But in between that? Before Phil found him centuries ago? He was nobody. His life came to constant waiting.

(Another thing to mention is that as immortal he doesn't really change visually either. He looks like a young adult, people usually think he's in his 20s.)

So he decides to try and become someone. He travels, learns to farm, to cook, craft, (there are things taht he could do already but they weren't a choice but a necessity during wars) write, study. He finally settles down and find a place for himself. He learns how to handle grieve, trauma, loneliness, old habits, voices and his own emotions.

During that time he encountered other people too. Some became his friends, followers and students, some became his enemies. Also Floof is here :D

And then his soulmates find him once again

Noticed a something with qsmp/the island as this could be both a lore decision or a cc decision, but...

Isn't it a bit weird how a lot of them are here without their best friend, the person who comes with them in a "do not separate" package?

The first one I noticed was Bbh as he's the most obvious one, and is actively trying to get Skeppy in the game, but doesn't this also happen with Forever, who also, you know, got an obsession with Phil because of how similar they look?

Also, will we count Vegetta?, who for the non-Spanish community, you'd count either of two people as his best friend and neither of them is here (one is good friends with Quackity as you can see even, tho I don't know about the other one)

The last one I could notice is having 2/4 of sbi, which is fair considering who is left, but could or not add on this I wonder-

Either this was a irl decision which I respect, not everyone has to be there no matter how much the fans want them to be, or this was something planned for the lore, how? I'll say pretty much Bbh describes it, "my only chance to be happy" the island wants them to enjoy it, but at the same time, keeps giving them situations where they can't be fully happy, and this one surely prevents them to ever be

However, if its a irl thing, it makes sense, at least for the first example I'd say, Skeppy does not stream that much and the qsmp requires a lot of it, so in that line, you get why he isn't here

I have been binge reading your entire Ao3 profile and I have fallen in love with your work. Your Dark SBI works are my favorite, particularly 'you bring out the worst in me' with close runners up 'Birds of a Feather' and 'Tasting Your Blood (Means I Love You)'. Wilbur is probably my second favorite after Techno but I adore how you write all of them. I know you probably get a ton of messages saying more or less the same thing, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to send in my appreciation as well. Admittedly, I also have a couple of questions, if you care to answer them.

First of all: In 'Birds of a Feather', are Phil's flockmates any less instinct driven than him, or do they also register Techno as a weird lil runt avian with social problems? If you could ever be bribed into writing a follow up with the flock's reactions, please let me know so that I can contribute.

Second of all: I have loved reading your stories over and over again, but I was wondering if you had any authors or fics you might suggest that are similar in content to yours (Techno-centric, whump or fluff)?

Gosh, Anon, what a sweet message. I'm glad you've been enjoying digging through my repertoire and finding stuff you like! And I'm always more than happy to answer questions about my writing :D

I'd say that all the avians in 'Birds of a Feather' are pretty similarly instinct-driven, though how much they get caught up in those instincts can fluctuate for many reasons, down to what season it is. It was supposed to be a plot point (that I cut for word count) that Phil's instincts were on high alert after being gone from his flock so long. Hence the near-instant imprinting with Techno. SBI does realize that Techno isn't technically an avian runt - rather, he's a whole other species - but that won't stop them from treating him like one. How to look after runts is the only point of reference they have, really.

Writing a continuation for that AU would be pretty pog and might happen someday. On that note though, I can be bribed into writing (almost) anything since I do take commissions, info is in my pinned post. If you're commissioning some type of fic set in one of my own AU I'm usually happy to give discounts too.

As for the second question: Floristkills would be the first to come to mind. She is an excellent Techno-centirc writer and a friend of mine. And I'd say our tastes are VERY similar. If you like Techno-centric Dark SBI, you should definitely also check out CleanLenins. And I also enjoy Who's work a lot.

I'm definitely forgetting some other really cool Techno-centric authors but it's 2 am and I have work in the morning, so I'll head to bed. Thank you again for the ask <3

Too busy counting the correct amount of gold, Tommy doesn’t see the way the warrior stiffens, eyes going a little wide. Not until he looks up to give the man his change does Tommy also freeze.

He’s staring at him like he grew two heads. It’s the first time the man is even looking at him.

Then the man’s eyes are narrowing. “What did you say?”

Shit fuck, fuck shit. He didn’t mean to say that outloud.

Tommy gapes and his eyes dart around before landing on the window and the scenery outside. He’s now just noticing that the man rode up on a horse. “I said.. It’s a beautiful day outside,” he says with a slight wince.

Personally I'm fine with any as long as dark sbi arnt asking me how much I drink and if my kidney is weak lol

I have almost 20 fics so bear with me lmao. We're gonna take a real long walk on this one. Also I'm only counting ones I've posted because otherwise that feels like cheating.

I think I'd have the best chance of survival with one of my STH inspired fics but that feels like cheating too. STH Techno can do no wrong and I'll always stand by that.

Honestly this with most my fics would probably be hell lmao. While the DSBI I write aren't usually outright aggressive they're more than a little loopy and would just find a reason to off me probably.

AFN and any Four Seasons fic are immediately off the list. Afn Techno might currently be a sweet little angel but I wouldnt wanna meet him after he's finished his change. AFN Phil goes without saying.

Even if I was meeting Techno at the current point in the story I don't think I'd survive since Phil really wouldn't take well to a random stranger talking to his kid. There's also Kristin but she is absolutely horrifying to meet so thats another no from me.

Four seasons would imply the existence of fae and I think I'd disintegrate in an environment like that. Also four seasons Phil is terrible and just sadistic. Believe it or not but he's playing nice with neo trio in those fics. I wouldn't want the chance to ever meet him.

Seeing as I'm working on a fic where ILMG Techno kills a neighbour for being irritating I don't think I'd ever wanna meet him. ILMG Phil and Wil could be fine but they're not fleshed out enough for me to really know.

I think I'd have an alright time in BFOB though. Its just the DSMP modified so I could have a passive chat with Tommy or Phil and that could be alright. Same goes of IDFR, thats a more accurate version of the DSMP and I don't think that'd be too terrible.

ODDO Phil could be nice to meet as well. He was just a sweet, lonely guy that lived by the seaside. He probably had a pretty fun life before that since I like to think he travelled. If this is post-horsing though then I'd have to pass.

ELTY, SGFA and EST are all royalty AU's so I'd have to pass on them as well. While Wil is skrunkly in them, his family is very much not and they totally abuse their power in their respective universes.

That all leaves me with DELG, Henchman and Harbingers to sift through.

Don't Ever Let Go could be fine. Its a superhero AU and talking to Kristin or Phil wouldn't result in immediate death. I brush over it in MBMB but Phil is passively friendly to everyone and people like him pretty decently.

Kristin does go off on a lot of 'work trips' but after acquiring twinsduo that cuts down. She's a villainness but whether its justified or not, I haven't decided yet. Its not as much fun when the narrative is 'the heros are the real bad guys'.

Its more interesting for me when the villains are villains and do bad, unjustifiable things. Makes more complex characters too, at least in my opinion. Either way I think she could be fun to meet but given the fact that they put up the facade of 'very normal boring family' I don't think it'd go anywhere too fun.

Henchman is probably off the table tbh. Techno would instantly try and shank me for money, Wilbur is a rich little asshole and I'd just wanna fight him. Phil could be ok but since his power is 'death upon touch' I'd be playing with fire.

Sure, he's more of a crime boss than steryotypical villain, but I think meeting him would just make him think I'm a cop or something. I don't think he'd believe the 'I'm actually your creator' story.

Harbingers could be fine as well. Phil is just an insane man and neo trio are more of a passive thing than an active threat. I haven't fully fleshed out their personalities yet (besides Phil and Kristin) but I don't think they'd instantly try and murder me.

They're kinda like a physical manifestation of poison, staying around them will just slowly kill you. I haven't worked out exactly how it works but meeting them would have me walking away with various health problems probbaly.

Phil could be fun though. But he is completely delusional and will become violent if you try break what he sees as his reality. That man belongs in a ward but instead he's been adopted back by his eldritch family.

I think in the end I'd go with ODDO Phil since he's a pretty chill dude. Even in the sequel I'm working on, he's much calmer than neo trio when it comes to murder. If it's pre transformation then he'd just share little stories with me and bake me some lamb based dish.

Post transformation would be less friendly but not outright hostile, he'd be more confused about how I knew so much about him than anything. He'd probably just brush it off as some kind of magic stuff though since he's cool like that.

Does anyone else like the AUs where the SBI are age/role swapped?

A lot of the fics I find are Tommy getting adopted in some manner, usually by Wilbur or Phil, with only a handful of Tommy going 'is anyone going to adopt that?' And not waiting for an answer.

OLDEST!TOMMY AU idea:

He was just A Guy. He didn't have a massive house or fame and fortune. He owned a 'hotel' but it was more the local tavern. Not a lot of people coming through town stayed the night or if they did, they stayed with a friend.

He didn't mind, really. He did a decent business selling food and drink with the odd potion or two in the side, he didn't *need* people staying in the rooms above the tavern.

Then a dirty, beat up teen stumbled in and slammed a handful of change on the counter, asking for a place to stay.

Tommy looked at the change, mentally counting it out. It wasnt even close to enough, but he gave the boy a room all the same. And some first aid supplies for good measure.

Technoblade offered to work at the hotel for a meal. Tommy upgraded the offer to room and board.

Techno didn't know when he'd come to see Tommy as something other than his kind boss, but he wasn't complaining. It wasn't until the hotel owner called him his brother that Techno had a name for what they were.

It was late when the musician came to the bar. "Do you do live music here?" The brunette asked.

"Sure. What's your rate?" Tommy asked. He'd never had live music in his tavern, but the guy was young and looked like he could use a break.

"A hot meal would do."

Wilbur was given the room beside Techno's and cooking lessons in the morning.

It took him a month to realize he'd been adopted by the pair.

He didn't know how he found the Innit Hotel, but he was so very glad he had. Whoever owned it must be an idiot, tossing out perfectly good food while it was still warm. And the pile of blankets by the woodpile didn't have a single hole in the lot! Sure they had a few big tears, but they'd been expertly mended.

Then there was the blonde who always seemed to have a little something for him to do.

He'd been invited in a few times, but always told him he needed to go. The blonde didn't look like he belived him, but let him go all the same.

Then he got sick and woke up to the pink haired storyteller by his bedside, the brunette and blonde bickering about sonething off to the side.

"You gave us a scare there, Phil," the storyteller said. "Almost thought I'd lost my little brother before I could tell him 'welcome home.'"

Basically, Passerine is the most popular fanfic on Ao3 under Dream SMP Fandom. It has 2738783 hits and 78457 kudos as of right now. It's only 7 chapters long, but has a word count of 76,375, so it's basically a long road of pain and misery. The story is detached from Dream SMP entirely, the only things tying this story to the fandom are characters and headcanons about them. The author took one of the most prominent and beloved groups from Dream SMP fandom called SBI - Sleepy Bois Inc, which consists of Wilbur Soot, Technoblade, Philza Minecraft and Tommyinnit, as the main characters. The headcanons which were used as the base for this story are that Philza is a ruler of Antarctic Empire, he and Technoblade are immortals and they closely know each other, and Phil has two sons - Wilbur and Tommy, who are decidedly not immortal...

It's been a little while since I read it, but I can say that this story revolves around found family and a lot of tragedy. It's honestly a wild ride and I loved every second of it. The ending left all the readers absolutely floored. It's a fanfic which reached outside of it's fandom with just how brilliant it is. You can read it while not being in the fandom and still understand everything abd feel for the characters. If you ever find yourself looking for something to read, I definitely recommend it.

This fanfic even reached a lot of content creators on Dream SMP, and they read it and complimented how great it is. There is also a TON of fanart for it along with the biggest number of animatics, I've ever seen for a fanfiction. That also includes an entire animatic from the most famous artist in Dream Smp community - SAD-ist.

(I also apologize for any mistakes in grammar and punctuation because I'm not native English speaker, and I also tend to make a lot of mistakes when a happy-ramble about something I'm passionate about)

Some of these writers should just write an original book, I swear haha. I don't know if I'll check it out, but maybe someone here wants to! It does sound like tropes people here go wild for :}

Also I love English non-native speakers because you guys tend to use perfect grammar and punctuation and then I can't make half sense of what native speakers type sometimes.

Never mind what my Japanese or Spanish typing looks like lmao I think I resorted once to saying "the honey bug" for bee when talking to someone.

Tommy stood over the lava, for what would not be the first time, but what he hoped would be the last. It was devastatingly hard to realize that things were never going to be better. That at the end of the day, everything he fought for, was for nothing. The discs were lost long ago, his brother dead, his hero hated him. What more was there for him here. 

He remembered the first time he stood over the lava, back then Dream cared enough to pull him back, but he supposed that toys weren’t important if they didn’t fight back. 

So Tommy found himself standing at the edge of a precipice, asking the same question he always found himself asking. Does he take the leap? 

He wished that there would be someone to tell him no, to take him away from the ledge, even if it was Dream. He thought back to Tubbo, of days when jukeboxes would be turned up all the way, of sunsets, and hugs, and laughter. Tommy wonders if Tubbo will miss him. He knows that he won’t. 

Tommy thought of Technoblade, his once hero, turned… Well frankly Tommy didn’t know what Techno thought of him, but Tommy, Tommy thought the world of Technoblade. He can think of a couple words that left Techno’s lips that summarized most people's opinions of him. Annoying being the top contender. 

But most of all, Tommy thought of his brother, of Wilbur. He thought of joining him in the afterlife, at this point Tommy would take the cold and empty of the void over this feeling any day. At least there he didn’t have to wake up, he didn’t have to feel if he didn’t want to. 

Tommy wondered if Wilbur would be waiting, like last time. A smile on his face, a cigarette burning, a game of cards ready to be played. Or maybe Tommy annoyed him too, maybe Tommy wouldn’t be greeted at all, but left alone in the cold dark nothingness for eternity. 

Tommy let out a soft chuckle, it seemed fitting, that even in his afterlife he wouldn’t receive freedom. But maybe he never deserved it. Maybe Dream was right, Tommy was selfish and cruel and irresponsible. Tubbo was right to exile him, his friends were right to not visit, and most importantly, Dream was right, Tommy was nothing.

He took one last look at the burnt surroundings of the nether, before he let his foot step over the edge, as he tumbled into the burning lake.

Tubbo saw this notification on his device and pushed it off at first. Tommy had a habit of getting himself in tough situations before and everyone knows that in order for it to be a cannon death, it has to have meaning. 

And Tommy, while he was many things, he was not suicidal. 

Tommy was Tubbo’s best friend… If they still were best friends, that is. 

And even though Tubbo hadn’t seen Tommy in a while, he knew that Tommy was more full of life than anyone he knew. Tommy was fine, he was just fine. 

But more than anything Tubbo wanted to see Tommy at that moment. While logically, he knew that he was fine, just as he always was, Tubbo couldn’t shake off the feeling that he was in trouble. 

So there Tubbo was digging out the compass, waiting for it to point towards Tommy, but it didn’t. It spun wildly, as if searching for some unattainable thing. And Tubbo began to panic. 

He ran to the nether portal, hoping through, not even worried about throwing on armor, or grabbing tools, just hoping that he would see Tommy standing on the other side with his normal grin, a big laugh, and calling Tubbo clingy. 

But that didn’t happen. Tubbo stepped into the fiery landscape of the nether, and no one greeted him. The compass still did not settle on a single location. And Tubbo ran, looking for any sign of Tommy. 

When along the shore of the lava lake Tubbo saw a burnt piece of a familiar green bandana, he couldn’t handle it. He broke. He grabbed the shard of cloth holding it to his heart and sobbed. His whole body hurt, feeling tight as the air pushed out of his lungs in an unnatural way. He knew Tommy, Tommy was a ray of sunshine, always smiling, always joking. 

His Tommy would have never done this. 

But Tubbo supposed that he lost his Tommy the minute he exiled him. And with that thought, Tubbo felt a wave of guilt rush over him, a voice chanting, ‘you killed your best friend’ over and over in his head. Tubbo did this, Tubbo abandoned Tommy. And in that moment Tubbo wished the lava would consume him as well.

This is just a small PSA, but I feel it needs to be said. I do not want to start a witch hunt here, and if any of you do that, I will be extremely disappointed. Please be respectful to anyone who does this.

Anyways, recently I’ve been seeing people use the dark SBI as a blanket term and not tagging some really messed up stuff that can genuinely trigger people.

I just saw around five (5) dark SBI fics where SBI are literally physically abusive and ignored/hated Tommy and saw zero mention of ‘neglectful’ or ‘bad sibling/dad’ tags anywhere. Even when the summary itself made it clear that they’re doing those things.

Writing out a few sentences in the tag bar saying SBI (or anyone for that matter) is bad, is not a proper tag and people won’t be able to filter it out.

And this isn’t only for the bad family/neglect tags, I’ve seen many people not tagging things like bullying, minor character deaths, blood/gore, and even amputation (this counts if Tommy’s wings get cut off too- many people don’t tag that when they should).

Like, come on now, that stuff needs to be tagged.

I always feel bad about wanting to say something whenever it pops up, because I don’t want to be rude and discourage anyone, but I feel way worse seeing people get seriously triggered because a fic wasn’t tagged properly.

I’m starting to sound like a gatekeeper lol.

But please, make sure you’re taking your fics right. You cannot be using blanket tags for things like this.

I know it can be difficult sometimes, but there are a lot of other tagged fics you can look to for help and it’s better than unintentionally hurting someone.

And if you see someone missing a tag when it pertains to content that very obviously needs (and has) a proper tag, respectfully ask them to add it. Nine times out of ten authors will be nice about it if you are.
