Is it true that Elizabeth of York birth celebrated like she was a son? I have seen some historians say this.
Hi! Yes, Edward IV did celebrate his daughter’s birth as though she was a male heir (“a prince”).
While we have no contemporary reports at the time of Elizabeth of York's birth, we know that Luchino Dallaghiexia reported that the birth of Edward and Elizabeth's third child, Cecily of York, "rejoiced the king and all the nobles exceedingly*, though they would have preferred a son'. Wanting a son (ie: an heir) was typical for their time period, likely enhanced by Edward and Elizabeth's unprecedentedly controversial marriage, her very unsuitable origins and his own status as a usurper. The fact that he was described as being "exceedingly" delighted at the birth of his third daughter in a row regardless does support the claim that he would have gone over-the-top to celebrate the birth of his first legitimate** child.
Hope this helps!
*Bizarrely, I have seen several historians and blogs using Dallaghiexia's letter to claim that he was bitterly disappointed at Cecily of York's birth. I don't understand how historical reading comprehension can be so poor that "rejoiced the king exceedingly" has somehow been rewritten as the...exact opposite of that. With no self-awareness whatsoever.
**His illegitimate daughter Margaret (known as Elizabeth for some reason) was almost definitely born before his marriage. We don't know the birth dates of his other two illegitimate children: I think the likeliest conception date for Arthur was in early 1470, but it's unverified; and we know nothing about Grace (which was in fact her surname, not her name) other than the fact that Elizabeth Woodville seems to have been very attached to her.

The fact Minthara would be acting a little odd socially in Drow society, being just attributed to the fact her mother - Sos'umptu, was by all the accounts that are written about her, a social hermit, feels fitting somehow.
The way no one questioned her eventual discconnect at pleasure parties or disassociative stare in the middle of the noble talk. The way she would silently grieve the people she thought she could love or be her friends, because she wanted that familial and friendly connections so badly and no one recognized it. Oh, it's just High Priestess Sos'umptu's daughter, this is to be expected.

nate being the only doctor makes me wonder what he's had to do for the others before
Nate does a lot for the crew. (Also woo look at his human disguise!)
When he's not actively treating or checking on them, he's constantly working to compare studies and test data to understand how to treat his friends, seeing as they have widely different genetic makeups and could react in ways that are *catastrophically* unexpected.
He can't use human rules when working on them, which greatly complicates things when he's educated in treating humans. Sera and Vince naturally have nucleated blood cells for greater oxygen input since they're always in rigorous activity, but this is a sign of leukemia or other major deficiency in humans. How do drugs interact with their bodies? what reaction will their immune systems have? do they have an intolerance to certain chemical developments?
This is partly why Vincent underwent so much testing and experimentation- to catalogue and document an atlas for the reproduction and understanding of this hybrid Variant species, and how every facet of its anatomy works in that respect. Like a rough draft you don't care about messing up, and use only to learn from.
Sorry Vince.
It's a wonder how Nathaniel was able to successfully recompile enough information to save his friends at all. It's a lot of stress on one guy with no nurses! That goes without saying for Amon (who is a beastshifter) Sonia... (Who is a living chemical synthesis lab) The various other people who end up joining... (Who shall remain incognito)
...Yikes.
He has likely seen all of them naked at least once, due to emergencies. He's extremely professional, so it's like it never happened... But it's still never fun to have to use that kind of ER protocol on your injured friends and associates.
Everyone except for Vincent, since V never lets Nathaniel treat him for anything, even when he needs it.
Instead, everyone caught a harrowing and unwanted glimpse of Vincent when he landed back home after streaking in the rain. He now flies with his pants duct-taped on. And goggles. For the glare and the overwhelming surplus of bugs he slams into at twice the speed of a f1 car.

today, i'm thinking about Robin. to be more specific, a clip of Anthony Padilla's interview with Markiplier came up, this one specifically, where he shares the reality of why he was crying during his follower milestone reaction videos. he mentions that he cried because he realized he would never be able to have a genuine connection with any of these people, because he got too famous, and i realized... that's Robin, too. she would cry, too.
and i know we talk about how lonely Sunday is, and even Robin mentions it — she's the first to mention it, because she loves her brother so dearly — and i'm not trying to detract from that in the slightest, but... Robin is so very lonely, too. surrounded by people who adore her, but don't know her. people who say they love her and want to marry her but only know the face she offers on stage... and sure, she tries to be as genuine as she can, to show her fans her true feelings and wishes, but the stage puts an inherent distance between her and every other person.. except Sunday.
she's never going to get a normal life back. she's never going to be able to make friends outside of strange circumstances. and sure, you can argue that the Trailblazer is her friend, but are they really? they don't know her. she can now only make friendships out of moments of crisis (the charmony festival), a bodyguard type situation (which inherently detracts from the friend relationship just as a fan interaction would), or extended proximity, which is even less likely than the other two due to — again — her bodyguards and fans.
Firefly is not a friend. she is a fan. the same goes for March. they're not friends, not in the way that Firefly is friends with Silver Wolf and March is friends with the astral express gang. Robin is friendly with the Trailblazer, but that is not the same. Robin is never going to be able to properly forge a platonic bond with someone again. she will never be able to meet someone in a bookstore and just casually chat about a shared favorite series, or make friends with the barista who makes her regular drink at a small coffee shop, or run into someone in the park and play with their dog. she can do none of those things without pretense, because her name and face are permanently tied to her stage persona.
...she simply got too big.

Sometimes I can't believe that some people think christmas is the best and most joyous time of the year. The way they automatically almost loathe others for not celebrating it is so ridiculous. I don't celebrate any holidays, like at all. I've been struggling with christmas for many years, it makes me feel depressed, overwhelmed and only reminds me of childhood trauma.

overall, I wasn't disappointed or surprised where the couples ended up in the show. Depending on how you interpret them, TopMew and SandRay aren't necessarily having a pure happy ending. The vibe - so to say - is still off in many ways.
If this is a compromise between having branded pairs and still trying to keep the story more open, I don't like it but I can live with it. It leaves space to further contemplate whether everyone got what they hoped for without undermining themselves. When I first read the post, I wasn't too convinced that it'd become an issue, but now I agree with @bengiyo that no branded pairs would've been better.
it can be argued that the show leaned a bit far into the slut-shaming, but to me it didn't seem to be the message the writers wanted to send but the reality of this friendship group. however, what does make me yearn for something that could've been is that not only did boston - a complicated and interesting character - get handed the short stick, Neo and Marks screentime was much less than the other pairs which only made his ending feel this much more painful.
not every scene can make it into the final cut, but their conversation after boston makes out with boeing leaves it unclear whether they had actually talked more about their boyfriend status or not. i think the break-up afterwards is a good choice for the characters either way, but it feels like some scene was left out (i am taking it personal if it was the pool table sex scene).
And while I enjoyed SandRay and - towards the end - thought that TopMew were quite interesting, I could've done without the second reading time for the kids and the fire alarm scene.
For a show that introduces the four friends as an ensemble, it doesn't add up to me that both Boston and Chueam got so little (and that with such stellar performances by Lookjun and specifically Neo) careful consideration.
