Singing!Davrin - and not only him - headcanons

Ok I can’t write but I had these in my head for too long and I thought I’d be cute to share.

We already know canonically Davrin does sing (he still hums to Assan during the event of the game) but we also know he kind of pretends he doesn’t do it anymore because, you know, tough-and-big-warriors-don’t-really-do-that. But….

It all starts one evening, after dinner. Everyone’s just chilling out together somewhere in the kitchen, but Rook is kinda depressed / lost in thoughts (because, well, it’s not really easy carry all that weight on her shoulders). So, out of the blue, Davrin starts to softly sing a dalish song - I assume here there are some songs that are shared across all dalish clans - and Bellara gets what he’s doing and immediately starts to sing along. Everyone looks at them, happily surprised. My Rook is dalish too, by the way, and she’s bad at singing but it doesn’t really matter because this really warms her heart and it feels so much like home, and after a while she starts singing with them too, lighthearted again.

After that, Davrin gets the habit to sing things to Rook while he holds her when they fall asleep in his bed

In the following weeks Harding keeps asking the three of them to sing again, because it was soooo incredibly fabulous, and also pester them to know what the lyrics are about. She wants to learn the songs and sing with them.

One night, again everyone together chilling out after dinner, except this time they’re all kinda tipsy. Bellara starts singing in elven, and Harding keeps saying she wants to learn the words, so Davrin starts to sing translating live the words in common tongue (because we know when he’s drunk he can be a little silly, too ❤️) and of course it’s ridiculous, which is why it’s epic. Rook and Bellara joins too. Harding is super happy XD

(Side note: this particular thing about live-translating songs into another language is a personal fond memory of mine, where my aunt, during long road trips to go to visit my grandmother, used to translate whatever song was on the radio in her dialect (I’m Italian btw, dialects here are basically indipendent languages, which is why I couldn’t understand almost a single word of what my aunt was saying, which is what made it super fun)

One morning Rook is in the kitchen getting something for breakfast, while absentmindedly singing. She doesn’t notice Lucanis can hear her, so he waits there watching her. At some point Taash comes to the kitchen too. They look at Rook, then look at Lucanis, who just smiles and shrugs. And then Taash says “she sings because Davrin fucked her last night ;)”. Rook spills all her coffee, scandalized. It’s true.

Bonus: this silly translation of dalish songs becomes a common event, during drunk nights. In my playthrough Emmrick ends up with Strife, who once enters the kitchen while Rook, Davrin and Bellara are singing and mutters something about it being blasphemous. Rook says they’re going to kill their own gods, so what is blasphemy anymore ;) He grunts and walk away. Later someone overhears Strife humming the songs, too XD

healing my inner child by imagining gloria teaching barbie how to bake cupcakes using the the lil easy bake oven from her childhood that she has DEFINITELY kept after all these years and barbie obviously has no baking skills whatsoever and this just seems like the most appropriate way for her to learn okay and ofc sasha makes a huge show of teasing her mom for still “playing with toys” until gloria lures in her by saying she can lick the frosting bowl and POOF sasha’s inner child is restored once again bc who in their right mind can resist frosting. just happy cute family stuff yk 🩷

Alright, so— obviously, Blurr is the world champion of the year, he constantly finishing in 1st place in pretty much every season. Arcee was running 2nd in the recent race, but got overtaken by Drift on the final lap! the audacity… Also Roddy was actually been holding 3rd position for over 10 laps before he got bored and dropped back lol.

and the mechanics! Ratchet and First Aid being on Drift’s team just makes more sense in my head. Also, Lotty is on Blurr’s team but is gossip buddies with First Aid (mostly bond over how tired they are).
