Dragonfruit-Watermelon Popsicles
Somewhat sweet, somewhat sour, somewhat salty. These refreshing dragonfruit popsicles will tickle your tastebuds and will pleasantly surprise you. You can think of these popsicles as a cleaner version of kaala-khatta (or gola khatta), from back home. Kaala khatta is a popular form of ice cream which is sold at street stalls. They’re sweet and sour, and leave you with a refreshing kick. Unlike…

Summer Time School Boy
Malleus Draconia x GN!Reader Word Count: 677
Art by Hitohanoha on Twitter and Pixiv
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's been in the hella high 90's and I've been walking around in my bikini eating popsicles. Also an anon mentioned liking Malleus. So, here we go.
SUMMARY:
You skip class on an exceptionally hot day. You then find Malleus eating ice cream bars.
Tags: Fluff/Sharing is Caring/I Made This Cause It's Super Hot...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The heat was pushing towards a steady 95 degrees. Far too hot for classes even though the rooms were well air conditioned. You had discarded your blazer in your dorm room. With a text to Ace and Deuce, they managed to ask many of the other students on campus to skip classes in hopes of escaping the intense heat and bullying the Headmage and staff to end schooling for the day. Even those who were accustomed to much hotter weather chose to show their support. So, the day was spent with students lazing around campus or hiding away in their dorm rooms. You climbed the steps to the third floor of the school with a groan. You wanted to collect your worksheets for you and Grim since you were one of the many who chose to play hooky today.
But leaning over the railing was someone you did not expect to see skipping classes.
“Malleus?” You spoke his name softly as you stared at him wide eyed. His blazer and vest were gone, leaving him in his thin white uniform shirt. The sleeves were rolled up to his forearms and he had braided his loose dark hair back into a ponytail. Unfortunately, with the sweat rolling down his temple, it had grown loose and hairs were flying astray. He turned to look at you, between his fingers was an ice cream on a popsicle stick. Vanilla ice cream mixed with strawberry chunks that were quickly melting along his pale fingers. His cheeks and the tips of his pointed ears were red and flushed from the overwhelming heat. Even the bridge of his nose had gone red. You could see a bead of sweat trickling down his temple as he smiled at you. “My dearest Child of Man, it’s still time for class isn’t it?” He asked as you walked up to him, watching as he took a bite out of his ice cream. “It’s way too hot… Crowley should’ve just canceled classes so all of the first years and some of the second years agreed to skip. I see that you joined in.” You huffed with a smile as you went to stand beside Malleus and leaned over the stone railing. The courtyard was in full view, and you could see Ace and Deuce hiding under the shade of a tree with cans of fruit juice in hopes of cooling down. “Oh? I was not informed of this event being hosted.” He responded honestly and you looked away awkwardly.
Right, you let Ace and Deuce to text everyone. It makes sense that the one student technologically challenged wouldn’t receive a text. “It must be fate then for you to be skipping out of class anyway.” You tried lightening the mood as Malleus waved a finger into the air around you, and in your hand was an ice cream bar of your own. A pastel blue loaded in chunks of various fruits. You looked over at Malleus with a surprised expression as he licked over his lips. “Lilia advised me that I should not attend teachings for today. This heat is not something we face in Briar Valley. He suggested I stay where I remain cool. Also…” Malleus trailed off with a light bow of his head. “My skin… It tends to burn easily.” He pointed to the bridge of his nose with an almost childish pout as he moved to face you. His downturned green eyes seemed much softer than usual. “But ice cream is enjoyed best when outdoors.” The dragon was accepting of his soon-to-be flaky fate as you lifted the frozen treat to your lips. It was sea salt ice cream, and the taste of the fruits embedded into the ice cold dessert lingered pleasantly. A soft breeze passed by as you gently bumped your hip against Malleus’, causing him to look over at you. “And, it tastes better when you’re not alone.” You reminded gently and took a small bite from your treat.
His cheeks seemed even redder. But it must be the heat.

maybe Soulfire Daycare
hhsshvchsb
yessss
Bad and Tubbo come to eachother at the same time, with the same idea, they want to start a school, a daycare together. Some place where the eggs can learn, but also where they can be comfortable, safe, and be taken care of.
Bad covers History, Writing(basically like, grammar and essays n stuff, its called English in the US but like,,, yeah) and Dapper co-teaches Science,, which is just Dapper talking about animals and ecosystems n stuff.
Tubbo covers Music time(sometimes a dance party, but also sometimes they break out the flutes and Tubbo plays the piano), PE (he's the coach lmao), and Create Class, in which he teaches the basics, with Sunny as his apprentice.
The eggs every week have an hour where they get to teach their own 'classes' and they get to help the others learn something! its optional, but Sunny and Dapper fill their slots every time they can. Pomme teaches self defense. Ramon teaches advanced Create, and Explosive Chem. Chayanne has a Culinary class and all the eggs make a snack like muffins or sun oven pizza(collab with science). Tallulah teaches music. Sunny teaches Econ LMAO. Pepito talks about Spiderman mostly. Richas varies, but he'll usually teach Pranks, which the teachers are oddly fine with, but he also teaches Languages in which he helps the eggs learn new words. Em teaches baking. Leo teaches Marine Biology and Building.
Fieldtrips, to the library, the dragon (Bad likes to cover foolish in rabid eggs and then conveniently disappear), the olders get to go to dungeons. Nap time, even for the olders is also important, mandatory. Bad sings a lullaby to the eggs that have trouble falling asleep while Tubbo attempts to whisper a story but just riles them up more. Movie days, swimming days, anything the eggs want, they can do.
They serve breakfast and lunch from a little kitchenette, and snacks of course, fresh fruit and toast and crackers. Popsicles on hot days, cocoa and cookies on cold ones.
There's a little nook for kids to hang up their jackets and backpacks and it always has extra ponchos and little booties and rain hats.
Tubbo has a little fanny pack on him at all times that has a bluetooth speaker and a mini first aid kit. Bad is always somehow bringing a kid a blanket, draped over his arm.
The building itself has a small reading corner, quiet and dark. Any egg that gets overwhelmed can rest there, but if they're really overwhelmed they can stay in the office, which is seperated by a door, and has a big couch, several stuffies, and some fidget toys. No chairs or desks, only a big soft rug that kids can lay, sit, stand on, whatever is comfortable.
Any eggs can come there at any time, get dropped off by a parent, or warp when lonely or sad. One of the teachers is usually there, and ready to have fun whenever.

Hiii I love your incorrect quotes and lil snippets about the funky side of the ninja
It's a weird question I know, but do you think Lloyd would get more aggressive when hungry? And like faaar more prone to zoning out because he spotted some potentially edible creature or something? Or like if he doesn't get to eat before a mission he'll be more violent when fighting than normal because it brings out his hidden dragon or oni predator instincts?
Cause I saw that one blood popsicle post and now I'm thinking "If his dregon side can convince him to eat something gross like that maybe it can convince him to do other weird shit too-"
Thank you! I love hearing from you guys
The awnser is more ehhh yes and no. He does have a predatory instinct that he used in the feild. Much like a big cat, once something turns it’s back and begins to flee his instincts kick in. He can fight them pretty well and remain in good control. His diet consists of raws, which is raw cutlets of meat. It’s better for him and brings a better shine to his hair.
Humans are omnivores meaning we need nutrients from both meats and veg. Lloyd is a carnivore. He can still consume fruit and vegetation but it’s not going to provide anything to his body.
He’s in pretty good control. Lots and lots of discipline

Day 1/150
For dinner I’ve had two steamed veggie buns, two steamed bean buns, half a yellow dragon fruit, 2 raw figs, some coconut water. I also had an ube popsicle for dessert. This is all super low cal foods. So even though I had breakfast/lunch and also dinner today, my total is only 850. Which yes, is h fairly high, but pretty good as far as I’m considered. Fasting until tomorrow.

I was also working part-time as a research assistant and gymnastics coach, and had been accepted into a master’s program. Life was busyI was pretty much living off smoothies I made myself. That spring, I decided to take up a new hobby: making my own healthy popsicles. I noticed a lack of snack options with less sugar and additives in grocery stores, so I decided to give it a try. I rented a small commercial space owned by my family near my home in Toronto and got to work. For my first batch, I made 50 popsicles by mixing a base of fresh mango, water, lemon juice, and organic cane sugar, then froze them. I’m South Asian Canadian, so fresh fruit was a staple snack in my household growing up. We always had fruit in the fridge. The popsicles turned out amazingly delicious, so I decided to try selling them at my local farmers market. The popsicles turned out amazingly delicious, so I decided to try selling them at my local farmers market. I was so happy to see people enjoying the treats that I bought more equipment on Kijiji and started taking coolers full of popsicles to more farmers markets. Happy Pops. By the fall, despite having no entrepreneurial experience, I put my studies on hold to join the Impact Centre, an incubator program at the University of Toronto. I then secured catering contracts with clients like Google, Scotiabank, and Aeroplan. I then launched in local food establishments like Summerhill Market in Toronto. In 2018, looking for new avenues for growth, I Dragon’s Lair On a whim, I ended up on the show and was offered $150,000 for 30 percent of the company by Arlene Dickinson. I accepted the deal on air, but then decided not to go ahead because I wasn’t ready to give up such a big part of the business. Still, that show was a big moment for me. Up until that point, I’d hesitated to tell people that I’d dropped out of school to become a food entrepreneur because it sounded like such a spontaneous change of direction. Getting Happy Pops on TV was a turning point for the business. Related: How to pitch your startup to investors This exposure helped me expand. I invested the money I earned in renting a larger commercial space with more freezer capacity, hiring a production team and accountant, outsourcing marketing and design, and developing new flavors like passion fruit, guava, matcha, lychee lemonade, orange & cream, and lemon mint. Meanwhile, I was pitching to some of the largest grocers in Canada. In 2019, Sobeys began carrying Happy Pop in their Ontario stores and eventually rolled it out across the country. Metro followed suit in 2020 with stores in Ontario and Quebec. We started shipping across the US in coolers with dry ice. Being able to ship across Canada and fulfill orders from our new e-commerce store has kept us going through the pandemic. Seven years into this business, some things have remained the same — I’m still the sole owner of Happy Pops, our basic recipes are still the same, and we still sell at farmers’ markets on weekends — but there’s one thing I couldn’t have predicted: we partnered with Aeroplan to create custom flavors. Sesame streetThe company is also currently developing a limited edition popsicle for Mattel, scheduled to be released later this year. The company produces more than one million popsicles annually and is sold in 1,500 grocery stores across Canada, as well as attractions such as Canada’s Wonderland and Ripley’s Aquarium. Yet our team remains small. We just hired our first administrative assistant. In addition to making business decisions, I still Manage social media I also develop and test flavors. It keeps me busy, but I’ve gotten better at balancing
work and life by carving out time during the day to ride my bike, play golf, and spend time with family and friends. Hearing that people love my popsicles and knowing that kids can have a quality snack that they didn’t have when I was a kid makes it all worth it. Why is my red dragon fruit not sweet?
There could be several reasons why your red dragon fruit is not as sweet as expected:
Ripeness: The sweetness of dragon fruit is influenced by its ripeness. If the fruit is not fully ripe, it may not develop its full sweetness. Look for dragon fruits that have a bright, vibrant color and are slightly soft to the touch. A ripe dragon fruit should give a little when gently squeezed. If the fruit is still firm and the color is dull, it may not be fully ripe and therefore less sweet.
Variety: Different varieties of dragon fruit can have varying levels of sweetness. Some varieties naturally have a milder flavor profile. If you have tried a particular variety and found it less sweet, you can explore different varieties to find the one that suits your taste preferences.
Growing conditions: The taste of dragon fruit can be influenced by the growing conditions, including climate, soil quality, and cultivation techniques. Fruits grown in optimal conditions may tend to be sweeter compared to those grown in less favorable environments.
Storage and handling: Improper storage or handling of dragon fruit can affect its flavor. If the fruit is stored at low temperatures or exposed to excessive heat, it may impact the development of its sweetness. Additionally, rough handling during transportation or storage can cause damage to the fruit, affecting its taste.
Individual taste perception: Taste preferences can vary among individuals. What may be sweet to some may not be as sweet to others. The perception of sweetness can also be influenced by other factors like overall diet, palate sensitivity, and taste buds.
If you consistently find that your red dragon fruit lacks sweetness despite considering the above factors, it may be worth exploring different sources or varieties to find one that meets your expectations. Additionally, discussing your concerns with local farmers or suppliers who specialize in dragon fruit may provide insights into specific factors that could affect the sweetness in your region.
Which is better red or white dragon fruit?
The choice between red and white dragon fruit, also known as pitaya, comes down to personal preference as both varieties have their own unique qualities. Here's a comparison to help you understand the differences:
Red Dragon Fruit:
Appearance: Red dragon fruit has a vibrant red or magenta skin with green scales, giving it a visually striking appearance. The flesh is typically white or red with small black seeds scattered throughout.
Flavor: Red dragon fruit tends to have a mildly sweet taste with subtle floral notes. Some describe it as a cross between a kiwi and a pear.
Nutritional Content: Red dragon fruit is rich in vitamin C, antioxidants, fiber, and other essential nutrients. It also contains betacyanins, which contribute to its vibrant red color and antioxidant properties.
White Dragon Fruit:
Appearance: White dragon fruit has a pale yellow or white skin with green scales, making it appear more subdued compared to the vibrant red variety. The flesh is usually white with small black seeds.
Flavor: White dragon fruit generally has a milder and sweeter taste compared to the red variety. It is often described as a blend of pear, kiwi, and melon flavors.
Nutritional Content: White dragon fruit is also rich in vitamin C, antioxidants, fiber, and other beneficial nutrients. While it may have a slightly different phytonutrient profile compared to red dragon fruit, both varieties offer similar nutritional benefits.
Ultimately, the choice between red and white dragon fruit depends on your personal taste preferences and the visual appeal you are looking for. Both varieties are nutritious and can be enjoyed in various culinary applications, such as eating them fresh, adding them to smoothies or salads, or using them in desserts. It can be fun to try both varieties and decide which one you prefer.
