Dorm Days Ch1 - Roommates?!

so i fleshed out a comic idea about my 2 OCs Mori and Juniper and how they met. it…wasn’t ideal for either of them. i really want to start exploring the dynamic between these two, as it takes them a while to warm up to each other. not just in their first year, but for a couple years after that. after they do though, they become quite close and protective of each other.

i'd love to make this an ongoing series so maybe if more people are interested i'll work towards making this a webtoon. but in the meantime, this may be a small series i'll use as practice for my main ideas for Starbound. thanks if you read this!

Here we go for self-promo, which I never am fond of doing but know I have to do it in this case! My self-published, indie comic, Robust Heat is now in pre-launch on Kickstarter! You can find it here.

It is going to be printed into a full volume, graphic novel, with 150+ pages. Full colour, American standard comic book size (6.625" x 10.25"). The printed version is going to be more polished, have rewritten, relettered, redrawn parts that the webcomic version does not have. If you like slight Baccano! vibes mixed with Netflix's Hollywood (2020), then please consider checking it out :D. The actual launch date is going to be on April 2nd, and if you'd like an email notification when the campaign goes live, the notify me button will do the job for you. And if you have anyone in mind that you think might enjoy these series, please pass this along to them! I know I don't have a wide reach/big audience, and what my comic is--I consider kind of niche-so I'm hoping to get this word of mouth get rolling. Quick partial speedpaint of the page I planned out and thought of the most by far. I've been wanting to draw it for so long, and this scene paired with the next couple pages after are the main reason I felt it would be best to make a comic in the first place, rather than the disparate partially connected drawings I'd been doing up to here. More to come of course :) this is a big project for me, but I keep adding more to it haha I'm obsessed. Somebody needs to stop me before I make an animated trailer though. I WILL do it if nobody chains me down in time. I have the tools and I will take classes.

PLOT:

On a rainy spring night, a blood soaked boy collapses in the streets of Caulwyn. He is fortunate enough to be spotted and rescued by a doctor on his way home from work. The doctor makes a bold decision to take the boy home to save his life after seemingly recognizing his face. He awakens days later only to discover that he has no memory of who he is or how he got there. The doctor and his daughter invite him to stay with them and grow close as a family, but as time goes on, they discover some strange and unexplainable things about their newest family member.

i love when people make bonus pages that are extensions of the story but not necessarily required reading, it gives more depth to characters. will these be frequent? idk, depends on if i can make gags that'll fit in less than 3 pages lol
