frost - if you could give some advice to your younger self, what would you say?

Oh my goodness, I would sit her down and warn her of SO MANY THINGS. But mostly to trust her own gut, not her family's, and never EVER move back to her hometown and DO NOT fall for all the guilt trips. Get her own career sorted doing what she loves and spend time with her family but LIVE HER OWN LIFE. And force her parents to sit down, make a will and get their affairs in order. Also, to travel when she's young and fearless because that would be wonderful!

fireside - if you had your dream wardrobe, what would it look like?

Oooh, that's a good question! I think lots and lots of clothes that feel really good in the softest fabrics that are easy to take care of. I live my life in leggings and big T-shirts (mostly from anime😂) so maybe something a little classier than that. 🤣 And I would loooove shoes with high heels that are also super comfy and cushioned. I miss wearing high heels!

Narrow

She ran to her bookshelves, looking for that book, a narrow booklet bound in dark green leather, a present from the ambassador of Selenia for her eighth or ninth birthday, something she might have enjoyed more at five.

Perfume

He had beautiful hair, the same as his sister, thick and silky, catching every reflection of light. If only he took better care of it. She had bought him a bottle of cedar oil from her perfumer, a sharp woodsy scent that he swore he liked, but never bothered to wear unless she was the one combing it in. People would notice the braids and the perfume, he said, but he never tried to stop her.

Disappear

Dalghera was a great beast, built uneven atop a hill that was not too smooth either; in some places, it was hard to say where the white quarry stone stopped and where the wild rock of the ground began. It was possible to walk down a flight of stairs halfway to Ter Noeág in the heart of the castle, and somehow come out at the edge of the Citadel. Few risked it. The cubs told stories of people who had disappeared in the serpentine hallways, of wailing heard behind the walls in sealed chambers, even members of the Other Folk living in the bowels of the castle, where the doors opened on caves filled to the brim with crystals sharper than blades.

Slowly

The city had slowly been recovering from the hurricane of the Congress of Kings. Innkeepers counted their highest profits in years, girls mourned the soldiers who had seduced them with their exotic charms, passersby looked down on the damage caused by the crowds in the streets. Some had not hesitated about leaving a trace of their passage. As she was rode through the gates of the Citadel, Elysa saw the words NEVRA WAS HERE written at mid-height in a dark ash color. She had no idea how the lout had gotten up there, especially with the city guard on patrol, but it made her chuckle.

Lingering hearts, clover and sage - a fantasy romance

Do you like romance? Are you a fan of slow-burn and the conflict between love and duty? Do you enjoy magic, fantasy cultures and just the barest hints of an incoming apocalypse? Then this story might be for you!

To research the effects of catastrophic magical events on the environment, the elf Naeth gets permission from his isolationist government to cross the border into demonic lands and spend six months in a dilapidated scientific outpost. There he meets the demon Umaen, who gifts him with a beehive, a fluffy red chicken, and an unexpected friendship.

Torn apart by the elves’ strict no-contact laws, they must find a way to cope with the increasingly worrying results of Naeth’s research, while navigating an impossible romance and the clash between their two opposing cultures. Can their relationship survive the distance?

So what if I surrendered to my impulses and wrote out the entirety of Umaen and Naeth’s love story? My plan is to edit it out nicely, add in some illustrations by yours truly and make it downloadable from Kofi (priced between 2.50$-3$). This is an official INTEREST CHECK! I’m putting a lot of love in this story, and it’s toeing the line between sweet and bittersweet, with lots of feels and a little bit of politics. I hope you’ll stay tuned for new updates!

Hey dreamywritingdragon, T for Theresa, who married to the uncle of my MC Aleena and appears a few times since she is a doctor. F for Freya who is some sort of older sister to Aleena, since both got trained by the shieldmaiden Swea. It is a sister in arms kind of thing, even if Freya is old enough to be her mother, and sometimes she likes to point it out just to annoy Aleena.

Good NaNo Vibes!!!!!

Thank you so much! I was kind of in a funk today because I “lost my streak” even though I’ve written every single day thank you (but alas, night mode means my idea of day and NaNos don’t always match up I guess) and today is an early work day so that’s another day lost-- but I’ve crossed 10k! That’s a big deal! And I’m having so much fun chattering at everyone about their NaNos too-- makes it MUCH easier to endure being at work when I’d rather be at home writing :P

Important points of interest:

Pherahet and Pher Forest: Pherahet is the city where Naeth lives and studies, and its forest of white trees is the key to understanding the Curse destroying the world, because it was once witness to a terrible, terrible deed.

Umbra: the mountain village in which Anaichi is currently hiding and which he loves very much. He would do anything to protect it, but its people are already under surveillance for being pro-spirits, and danger awaits...

Athr: Umaen's city. Everybody low-key has a crush on him, which gives him a little bit of leeway for his illicit activities. It is also the first city that will suffer the effects of the Curse and the first to betray the Leader Lord for Umaen's cause.

Ydae: the demonic Capitol City. It's where more than half the cast lives (Yareina, Telae, Sasher...) and the seat of the government. Surrounded by a system of canals and a fortified wall, it's very difficult to attack.

Umaen and Naeth's secret house! Hidden in the middle of the woods by the border, it's the best-kept secret of the land! Nobody knows about it -except for all of all our beloved characters. And there's more! It's very conveniently located on top of the ruins of a sunken angelic city! Who knew?

--His parents, along with some of their friends, were important figures at Imperatore Enrico's court in their youth

--When he was 7, his parents left court life due to the increasing dangers

--They hid themselves in a villa deep in the woods, with their friend Attilio, and the two girls he had just adopted: Novellia and Cloelia

--A year later, Orianna was adopted as well

--These became Ottavio's siblings, and he was closest to Novellia

--Since Novellia and Orianna were magical, it was important for the family to stay concealed.

--Ottavio was the thrill seeker, always getting lost in the woods and needing to be saved. Nova always promised that next time she wasn't coming to get him.

--Once, Nova's magic was almost exposed because she was saving him. He got in huge trouble.

--When they were 10, there was an incident when Nova and Ottavio decided to see how much the bounds of magic could be pushed. Nova got too excited, Ottavio egged her on, and she almost died. He never got over it.
