Question for British Columbians:

Is it legal for jobs to ask if I have a driver's licence if driving is not a job requirement?

I've only ever noticed this when job hunting in BC. In NS and Ontario, they never asked unless the job was related to driving. Like I feel like it's a roundabout way of them wanting you to have reliable transportation, yet I've come across a few job postings requiring a driver's licence (I don't drive) despite the job description not requiring me to drive or commute in any way?

And I'm very hesitant to apply to these jobs because of this. There are a couple like "Playground Monitor" that want me to have a valid licence, yet no part of the job description describes me driving the kids at all. Like this is not a "schoolbus driver" or "delivery driver" posting. And as someone looking to go to teacher's college I would really like to work somewhere childcare adjacent while applying to/attending teacher's college.

Apparently the minimum driving age in Japan is 18 (but 16 for a motorcycle???? What the heck), so no driving til year 3 of high school... that being said I think Tsukasa would drive like a grandma

my personal opinions/hcs on the 3rd years driving is that mafuyu, rui and tsukasa would be very responsible drivers. mafuyu bc she's good at everything, rui does take safety very seriously idk how many times the game needs to say this before people start believing it (he would definitely mod the car though) and honestly just vibes for tsukasa lol but he is pretty responsible (i do think he would cram and fail the written test the first time though). airi i think would be a good driver but she also has a short temper so she strikes me as the kind of person who would have road rage from time to time. honestly ena doesn't strike me as the kind of person who would drive. she'd probably be alright at it but she's tired too often. kanade is not driving i don't need to explain why. do not let shizuku in a driver's seat either she has no sense of direction and would not be able to use a satnav.
