Valeina, Aerenal Soulknife rogue from my Eberon campaign. Previously an assassin for the undying court, they became trapped in a floating city in Cyree after the mourning and now explore the surface with their party to see if life can return.

"Capella is a Kenku bard who grew up as a street performer and member of a gang called "the Murmurs".
The city of Sharn is all she's ever known since she was a chick and day to day life hasn't been very kind to her, even with her talents on full display. Dissatisfied from years of feeling underappreciated, isolated and useful only as a means to get by from most of her fellow Kenku, her perceived purpose in life now revolves around an unhealthy obsession with holy symbols from her time skulking around churches and other places of worship. She's determined to become what she believes is a righteous figure and healer to the needy, though she might get more then she bargained for." Finally got around to sketching my DnD character I've been playing with my friends over the past few years. She's evolved a lot since the beginning of the campaign, so I wanna make her a proper full ref sheet showing her change in appearance over time from story shenanigans. Her design is based off of a fantail pigeon.

Eberron deserves a shit ton of praise for a lot of stuff but specifically props to it for just having the guts to outright say "Yeah magic works like completely differently for non-player characters".
Because like yeah, once you take a step back, memorizing three dozen different spells and being able to fully cast each of them within six seconds is an insane thing to ask of Joe Average who works at the telegraph station and just needs to cast Sending a bunch.
If your job is anything other than getting killed by gnolls for a living you don't fucking need Wizard levels. Just learn the one spell you need to do your job and you're set. The Esoteric Order of Aureon is a scam to sell you 50gp worth of rare inks per spell level

Eberron Remastered
A whole bunch of different factors have led to one of my favourite settings rising, phoenix-like from the ashes of the OGL disaster. The long and short of it is that I’m not only able to enjoy Eberron again, but I want to play and write it. Do I have any interest in playing the game the setting was made for anymore? Absolutely not. Does that matter? No, because I have Pathfinder.
Enter Eberron Remastered.
This is my crack at using Pathfinder 2e’s mechanics as the foundation for the Eberron setting. I’m far from the first person to do this, but I’m hoping to bring something unique to the table. Even if I don’t, it will be something I do for fun, because there is zero way to monetize this. I’m very aware that a lot of RPG work these days is with at least half an eye towards publication. That’s fine — but I think carving out some hobby space that is explicitly about just having fun is healthy too.
Because I like to lay these things out ahead of time, here are the guiding principles I’m using for Eberron Remastered.
Agree to disagree: there are a whole bunch of people working on different ways of running Eberron using Pathfinder. Sometimes I agree with their design choices and sometimes I do not. Likewise, they may not always agree with mine. I want this upfront as a reminder to myself and my audience that those disagreements are OK. The best practice is whatever works at a given table, so if someone wants to use some of my ideas and ignore others, I'm not bothered.
Do not reinvent the wheel: wherever possible, I am going to try and avoid making brand new mechanics and instead use what already exists in Pathfinder. That doesn't mean I'll never do it, but I recognize I have limitations on my time and energy and I want to keep this fun. Especially because I know my reach is already going to exceed my grasp in other places.
No singular solutions: this is a philosophy I've picked up over the years from Keith's own writing. Mechanics are tools that can represent many things and sometimes a single concept can be approached with multiple sets of mechanics. Using one set of mechanics (particularly ancestries) to express an idea doesn't mean that mechanics can be used exclusively that way.
A different Eberron: If it has a place in Pathfinder, there can be a place for it in Eberron. That means that I am going to diverge from some of Eberron's canon and kanon lore because I am working with different monsters and mechanics. In some places, I will homebrew things across games (hello beholders), but in others I will branch off in different directions.
Hopefully this is fun for me and fun for you. There's plenty of tools available in Pathfinder, which I think makes it ideal to use with Eberron. Not everything exists yet, but it is pretty dang close. This plan is both a throwback and a new path forward. We all could use a bit of that in these crazy times.
Oh and guess what? That custom map of Eberron I’ve been working on for years is looking nice!
All aboard the Lightning Rail. Next stop is Sharn!

Hello, fellow D&D players of tumblr! Do you have an Eberron campaign coming up, and the official subraces just aren't cutting it? Do you look at ordinary planetouched, and wish that they had more of a connection to their mundane, non-human parent? Or have you looked at planetouched and wished they had more of a connection to Eberron's planes? Consider using one of the 31 subraces in this book! These have been created for aasimar, dwarves, elves, gith, genasi, gnomes, halflings, and tieflings.

If you're looking for more character inspiration, consider checking out one of the premade Eberron characters I have created - all are 100% RAW as per Rising from the Last War and the 2014 Player's Handbook.

The Cloudsplitter, an airship that can separate into four smaller ships!
The Cloudsplitter sails far above the clouds, a unique airship created by gnomish engineers. This ship is able to separate at will, splitting into four smaller ships.
This provides the ship with another level of utility, and allows the ship to better maneuver during combat, scout in different directions, or escape when attacked.
Thank you to my Patrons who suggested this cool concept. The idea of smaller ships being able to combine into one larger ship instantly lit a lightbulb in my head, and I had to make it!
These maps come with day/night versions, water & space variants, and tokens to give you full flexibility with how you want to use this ship.
You can download all 4 maps for free here.
Check out my map archive here.

Get to Know My Characters | The Eberron Timeline
From left to right . . . (its long, take a peak under the cut)
Gregor Graves | Fallen Aasimar, Cleric of the Keeper
I affectionately call him my "Tamagotchi Son" or "Borrowed Son". The first nickname comes from the fact that through the majority of his campaign he was in a demiplane housed in his own holy symbol necklace after dying in the third session. He could be communed with once a day for a limited time, but could hear the world outside of it. The second nickname because he was another player's character.
Key Points:
He hails from Cyre in the Eberron setting, as such he has been a refugee for years after the Mourning - a cataclysmic event of debated origin that wiped the nation from the map but led to the end of a century long war.
On the Cyre note, while they used to wear every color they could slap on their body at once after the Mourning most Cyran survivors wear black. His more decorated robes is due to his worship of The Keeper.
Another quirk of Cyrans is their use of gloves, it is considered immodest to be seen without them and a high level of trust and respect to be on the receiving end of a bare handed Cyran.
He is a twin, his sister is an antagonist at multiple points of the story. She never wears the same face.
He and Akashi were "cleric penpals" during her training years, their first time meeting in person is the foundation of the original party (The Mistakes) within this setting.
He canonically died in the third session, along with a large chunk of the party in a combat they should not have started with an Archmage. He is resurrected late campaign by Ashi/Akashi.
Ashi Mendyrian / Akashi Graves | Eladrin, Mage
She is my everything.
Key Points:
She hails from the Feywilds but was raised in Aerenal in the Eberron setting, a elven island nation built on and around the use of necromancy magic.
She was raised within the holy city of Shae Mordai within the temples there after she was accidentally switched in through a magic surge. She was aware of her origins but saw it not as a burden but painted it in the "chosen" light and it motivated her to prove that she was more than deserving of the magic of the Undying Court.
She was not accepted by the Undying Court, the pantheon of Aerenal, and was not granted Cleric based magic. So in a "fake it till you make it" mind set, she set to work teaching herself Wizard based magic in secret.
She has a legal half brother - she was not the only "whoopsies!" her parents faced. (He's a half elf)
Completely smitten with Gregor before they even met, though he was the first to say "I love you" (during his time in the necklace demiplane no less (she was too stunned to return the sentiment before her time elapsed for the day))
"Mage" is a general term I use to describe her as her narrative has her dipping into every spell list in technical terms for D&D. In play, she was a wizard first and a warlock multi class. Mage is also a good label as her pursuit of necromantic magic in order to resurrect Gregor leads her into becoming a goddess
The Protector, Goddess of Souls
Akashi's goddess form (Current reference is just a sketch as I iron out the design)
Her role within the gods is less so over death but in escorting souls. Kind of a reaper based role. Cyre is restored but with the years that had past since the Mourning, there was an abondance of souls that were misplaced or lost with no bodies to return to. That is the bulk of her work.
Aust Graves | Eladrin/Aasimar, Enchantment Wizard and Paladin of Devotion
She is both the "Golden Child" and the "Necromancy Nepo-Baby"
Daughter to the Dr. Akashi (Professor and Dean of Necromancy at Arcanix University) and Gregor Graves (Head of the up and coming Syndicate of Souls, a religious group dedicated to a new god?), knighted heroes of the Five Nations. But all she wants to do is become an adventurer.
Key Points:
Raised in Aundair's floating city that is home to Arcanix University of Magic, but unbeknownst to her she was born on another plane of existence as a fail safe from her parents for her safety. (Lore: dying on another plane other than your own will give you 1 respawn) She feels a deep love for her dad's home nation, but it had once again fallen - this time to a dictator rather than a magical wipe out - by the time she was born.
Originally pursued necromancy in her studies, after all it is the family tradition. Switched to an enchantment path after a wizard tournament escalation led to her charming the enchantment dean, summoning the dictator of Cyre into the stadium, and killing him in broad daylight. (It was dramatic, she didn't go into it thinking she would take over the enchantment dean but a spur of the moment decision with unexpected success opened up a world of possibilities)
Design note! She does have aasimar wings but visually they resemble dragonfly wings to give a nod to her mother's fey heritage. They aren't always on display, just like her halo isn't.
She does become an adventurer and gets wrapped up in one of those run of the mill save the world type party. Unfortunately for her, her aunt happens to be part of the problem. She ends her campaign having to fight her aunt in combat. While the fight is won, the status of her aunt is unknown. This combat also leads to Aust taking the throne in Cyre.
Her Oath of Devotion was formed when she gifted Rine a promise ring :')
Rine | Halfling Rogue
Spitfire of a dinosaur riding girl with the Dragonmark of Healing.
Fun fact about Rine - she was an NPC randomly generated at the table during one of the downtime sessions when Aust decided to try her luck in the dating world. The success of the date was decided by dice roll and both the DM and I rolled natural 20s on their date. The rest is history.
Key Points:
She was born and raised in the Talenta Plains to a nomadic group of halflings. She is first and foremost a family woman, learning her trade and applying the natural magical gift of healing to support them.
She was roped into the "saving the world" quest because she was actively on a date with Aust when the party needed to make a quick get away. Lucky for them, she is quite skilled at loosing a tail with her driving skills.
The largest point of contention between her and Aust is their stances on monarchies. Even upon marriage, Rine does not take a title within the court. Obviously Aust supports the idea as she finds herself on the throne at the end of her campaign, even still she shifts the leadership to a council rather than solely her own burden to shoulder. This is something they can agree on, as even Rine admits you cannot simply shift from a monarchy over night.
Nina | Aasimar Mage, long dead
Nina was a member of the Cyrian Knights when she was alive. An elite magical force during Cyre's golden age before the 100 year war and its conclusion in the Day of Mourning. She now finds herself haunting the estate in Kalazart since Crye was restored. It is her time around spirit sensitive Caeles that is slowly bringing her back to a more lively figure. Too bad Caeles is dutybound to report her to the Protector as one of her select few warlocks, Nina being a lost soul and everything. Or Caeles is supposed to report her and had every intention to until they accidentally developed feelings for each other.
Caeles Cassian, Lord of Kalazart | Dwarf/Elf, Warlock
Just a normal girl, with a normal life - except she's got a secret. She can see spirits and has since she was little. Oh yeah and she's next in line for the lordship of Kalazart, a city of luxury supported by their necromantic crafts.
Key Points:
Being educated is important for a young noble, Caeles studies of choice happen to land her at Strixhaven. And once it was time to select a school path she was the first student to pursue both halves of Witherbloom and both halves of Lorehold. Talk about over worked.
Oldest of five children, and takes this very seriously. Though you wouldn't know it from her tendency to party. But as she would tell you, her city of Kalazart would not be successful if it's citizen did not understand their own limits. Drugs, alcohol, sex - any source of pleasure can be found within the city in excess. A host should not be sloppy, especially not the city's leader. (She is never unaware, and is often putting on a show rather than truly intoxicated)
She is the anonyms gossip column writer of the school and writes about anyone and everyone including her own party. She isn't shy about writing about the more negative aspect of herself either to avoid suspicion.
Her campaign never concluded but I hope to work on her more on my own!
Blue | Warforged Wizard
Part of the Placeholders' party during Aust's absence, but no less loved in my eyes. She is a bubbly caretaker, illegally built after the war by an orc man who just wanted to be a father. So she is much fancier than many of her warforged peers, as he loving crafted her.
Known for the "she's confused but she's got the spirit" type attitude.

The Departure of the Air Ship Hummingbird from the Lost City of Exalme at Sunset
This is a piece for my current dnd Campaign: an Ebberon campaign based around a Cyreean city that was able to lift above the Mourn fog as it rolled in, and is now, having lost contact with the outside world, sending adventures to the surface to investigate the fate of Cyree and see what has become of the world.
The AS Hummingbird is a unique model, built and piloted by an eccentric goblin who also invented aviators.

I started my D&D campaign back in April of 2020 shortly after the COVID Lockdown hit. I was bored out of my skull and stressed, and a friend had expressed his frustration with his own D&D group and I just went "Fuck it."
I hadn't played DnD since college. I had never GM'd a tabletop game. But I had nothing better to do. So I went on to Discord into, like, the three channels I'm active in and rounded up a gaggle of friends from FFXIV and from my old City of Heroes group. For my starter campaign I used the very first Eberron campaign ever published for I think 3e or 3.5e, converted to 5e, "The Forgotten Forge."
And three and a half years, multiple cases of COVID, two rounds of cancer and chemotherapy, four or five moves, three kidney stones, multiple bouts of depression, and a half dozen job changes, we finally finished the campaign at level 16, having convinced the Lord of Blades to devote his talents to building the new Warforged nation and healing the Mournlands using the unique techno-organic warforged plants and animals we'd discovered, instead of his original plan which was to absorb the power of a Creation Engine and a Demon Overlord into himself, achieve apotheosis, and drown the world in a tide of blood.
My original plan for the final battle has in large underlined letters the phrase "Biblically Accurate Chainsaw Angel" and included a speech with lines like "LET THE SEAS BOIL AND THE SKIES FALL! LET THE WORLD BURN!"
Also probably ending up with the players picking the Red, Blue or Green endings from the End-o-Matic 9000.
But that didn't happen.
So instead, the campaign that started with our little group of heroes stumbling onto the murder of a professor with the clues to a hidden workshop, ended with the wedding of Seeker the Warforged Artificer, the man who'd talked the Lord of Blades down (despite having a Charisma of 8) and now holds the title of Maestro Seeker, is an advisor to the national leadership, and is the teacher of a whole new batch of warforged, and the warforged medic Solace, an NPC whose existence began as a joke about Seeker having a whirlwind romance with a medic in the space of about 23 minutes while the rest of the party were running errands.
Hot damn was that a lot of work. Three and a half years, and despite it starting in modules by the second I'd decided I didn't like the story as it was written, threw it out, and told my own story. Featuring friendly little fire elementals named Phil, packs of extremely patriotic and laddish mimics named Jimmy, an eight foot robotic sweetheart named Friend whose primary weapon was an equally massive tower shield and her totally-not-boyfriend warforged druid/allosaurus/swearasaurus Din, a wrestling match with a hobgoblin that nearly turned lethal when an 18 foot tall warforged titan came in with the steel chair, an alligator with a gun, and banishing the elemental dragon powering a flying battleship while A) the team was still on the battleship and B) it was still several hundred feet in the air and C) it was the only thing keeping it there... it's done.
And it was all worth it. God I love these guys. So here's to you, Katie, Jacquie, Mike, Stan, and Will. I'll see you all next week for our next adventure.
#dnd#dungeons & dragons#dnd 5e#forever DM#eberron#i want a fucking medal#anyone who runs a full campaign from 1 to high levels and herds a half dozen people into regular games should get a certificate or somethin#and for SOME REASON I'm running the next campaign too!#I mean I love GMing but still
