Bonus 💋 (dw Mike will feel ok after this)

I share also the version without the panels

I wanted to try a less complicated style for the lineart, and I really like it! For the colouring I tried but it ended more elaborated than I established lmao

on the nature of void fluid . . .
Tumblr media
We are back with another nerd post this time with speculative planetary science :0
Here, we have a cross section of the planet's crust. Ill go into more detail on each layer below ⬇️
The Surface
The "earth" in rain world was historically an ice world, with a weak sun and sheets of glaciers covering the surface. The only form of heat being from the earth itself. It doesn't take long to find large cave systems eroded by millenia of ice melt.
The erosion of the land from the great ice sheets created a jagged landscape of underground tunnels and pockets, shaped by the flow of the melting ice over time. The planet's crust is very hollow and thin thanks to this.
The Void Sea
As the water tunneled down into the earth, it collected in large underground pockets, kept as liquid by geothermal heat. These formed the planet's first true oceans, with life originating from communities around hydrothermal vents.
The Void Seas [yes, several!] are an ancient chemosynthetic ecosystem of extremophiles. The microbiome here has adapted to metabolize with as many different materials as available in this harsh environment, including inorganic substances, leading to the Void Sea's large appetite for the surface world and anything in it.
Of course, we know that microbes aren't the only denizens of the Void. The Void Worms are filter feeders supported by this microbial ecosystem! It may take tens of thousands of years for a Void Worm to reach the sizes seen—they don't stop growing.
Void Fluid Technology
As the Ancients expanded more and more into biotechnology, they discovered they could utilize many of the microbial cultures native to the Void Sea. Filtration facilities sought to isolate these species from one another, sorting for their individual uses and properties.
For example, iterators are the largest consumers of void fluid, using both domesticated and wild strains of microorganisms. The domesticated strains were repurposed into symbiotes to act as "cells," and so the blood of an iterator, or hemolymph, is a special mixture of these symbiotic void cultures.
And as living things, iterators do need to eat! In this case, nutrition comes from the underground bacterial soup. Yummy.
They have large-scale equivalents for almost every biological process, including digestion. The "stomachs" are vats of unrefined void fluid filled with symbiotic cultures that act as enzymes to prey upon native microbes and organic detritus. Or any unfortunate maintenance worker . . .
"Ascension"
The Void Sea is the origin of life, but also highly toxic to its children on the surface, eager to eat them alive. The activities of the microbiome as well as the output of the hydrothermal vents fill the caverns closest to the Seas with noxious fumes, causing hallucinations, delirium, and eventually death.
But ultimately, the Void Sea leaves no bodies. Whatever delusional creature makes it in, never returns. After all, those microorganisms evolved to consume whatever they could get.

if they actually came up with trapping her in tungsten plate instead of glass one she wouldn’t be a shadow but more like... straght up punching the hole to the sky serving as a living moving one-side window. human-shaped portal if it makes any sense?

I think that to boost morale after especially large disasters the ninja should host pokemon contest-esque shows.
Just them showing off their powers in fun ways, they can occasionally get a few of the other elemental masters in- usually it's Skylor. They let audience members come up too. Just something to keep spirits up a small bit

I like to think that, much as Aral Vorkosigan of the Vorkosigan Saga gives a yearly lecture to military academy students on honor and when it’s important and required to disobey illegal orders, sometime starting in the Third Age, returned!Celebrimbor gives a lecture once a decade or so to apprentices of every craft on What Not To Do in Sub-Creation. It consists mostly of these slides:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sometimes someone raises their hand on slide 1 and asks, “Didn’t you die shortly after the creation of the Three Rings?” “Study your history more closely!” Celebrimbor says. “Yes, I did, but for mostly unrelated reasons which we’ll address in a couple slides.” Usually someone raises their hand later and asks, “Does that mean, logically, it is also a bad idea to create something whose destruction removes your future creative ability?” “Good logic!” Celebrimbor answers. “Yes, it does - though I know of no illustrative examples of that...yet. If it’s possible to do, I’m sure I’ll find out eventually, and return (perhaps from Mandos) to add it to this lecture.”

The Discovery of Stationary Waves
Tumblr media
One of Nikola Tesla’s major discoveries in the field of electricity was terrestrial stationary waves deriving from natural lightning discharges. In 1899, at Colorado Springs one night during a huge thunderstorm, Tesla was witness to thousands of lightning discharges within two hours. He recorded in great detail the many branches each flash of lighting and their sizes. As the storm began to fade away, Tesla connected a rotating coherer (a device he used for telegraphy in New York prior to his visit in both wireless signaling and in investigating the properties of x-rays) to the ground along with a plate above the ground. A condenser was also used to magnify the effects transmitted through the ground. His device was adjusted as the storm gradually dissipated, and he continued to adjust its sensitivity as the distance was extended. The receiver would continue to react even though the storm was up to 50 miles away based solely on sound waves. After the device stopped responding, Tesla deduced that the storm had passed at a distance too far away to record additional data points. Suddenly though, the receiver began to record again and surprisingly to Tesla, the recordings were also increasing in strength even though the storm had moved on to a point that was essentially out of sight. The device would then cease again for a bit, only to begin functioning once again. Tesla would continue adjusting the sensitivity on the coherer and the same results would occur. The device would continue playing after small intervals of time. To Tesla, this was the most wonderful and intriguing experience because it clearly showed the existence of terrestrial stationary waves. This discovery proved that the Earth is responsive to electrical vibrations of definite pitch just as a tuning fork to certain waves of sound, and these particular electrical vibrations are capable of powerfully exciting the Globe. It proved that power could indeed be transmitted through the Earth to far distances utilizing his oscillator (later known as his Magnifying Transmitter).
Tesla's ultimate plan was to throw the earth into resonant vibration similar to a tuning fork. He would strike the earth with his oscillator sending electrical ripples around the surface of the Earth, and when the energy would return he would again strike it simultaneously in vibrational process known as constructive interference (when two waves overlap in such a way that they combine to create a larger wave). This is NOT electromagnetic radiation, such as with visible light and radio waves. This was nothing like the radio antennas we use today. Tesla's goal was actually to minimize the electromagnetic radiation from the system as much as possible by containing 95 percent of the energy in a localized standing wave confined to the Earth, the opposite notion of traditional radio antennas which give off 90 percent of radiation through the air. Tesla measured these electrical ripples traveling around the entire circumference of the earth moving faster than the speed of light, specifically pi divided by 2 times the speed of light (1.57c).
Some may question the ability to transmit anything faster than the speed of light; however, the speed of light is a constant, not a limit. The velocity of light is an expression of the ratio of energy to mass; Tesla’s waves functioned on different dimensions. The electromagnetic waves we use in today’s technology (which are transverse waves) travel at the speed of light, but due to the nature of these waves, they diminish with distance. This phenomenon is because the electromagnetic lines of force and the magnetic lines of force intercept at right angles to one other, causing resistance (radiation resistance) . This is also why the waves eventually lose energy. Tesla, on the other hand, used an oscillating wave (or a longitudinal wave), in which the electromagnetic and magnetic lines of force run parallel with each other (hence there is no friction or loss of energy). As a result, the more power he used, the faster and further these waves could travel. Many electrical experimenters have proven this velocity, including Charles Wheatstone, Jonathan Zenneck, and Arnold Sommerfeld.
“By this invention every live part of Mother Earth’s body would be brought into action. Energy will be collected all over the globe in amounts small or large, as it may exist, ranging from a fraction of one to a few horse power or more. Every waterfall can be utilized, every coal field made to produce energy to be transmitted to vast distances, and every place on earth can have power at small cost. One of the minor uses might be the illumination of isolated homes. We could light houses all over the country by means of vacuum tubes operated by high frequency currents. We could keep the clocks of the United States going and give every one exact time; we could turn factories, machine shops and mills, small or large, anywhere, and I believe could also navigate the air." –Nikola Tesla

Really gotta finish and elaborate on this chart of 'natural' Zeti powers and how they work because not only is it really important to my headcanons/personal Zeti lore but it's also really, really important to Sonic Pantheon
Because (in the au) each of the D6 has developped their own specialty and aside from Zor (and Zavok but only kinda) it's based entirely on this

Reeve Tuesti.
Funny cat man. Staunch proponent of improving living standards for people of all backgrounds and economic status. Enthusiast of city planning and publicly funded infrastructure. Expert in robotics, architecture, and civil engineering.
At the end of Final Fantasy VII, he finds himself free of the corrupt warmongering of the Shinra dictatorship, free to follow his heart and conscience, free to enact changes that will help the people of Midgar and restore the injured planet the best ways he knows how.
. . .
Four years later:
(On the Way to a Smile - "Episode: Denzel")
It was Reeve, former Shinra bigwig, now the leader of the WRO . . . folk whispered that the stench of death clung to him. . . . . . . . "You should know first of all that our organization isn't like it used to be. The days of welcoming anyone who was willing to join are long gone. If you want to help in the reconstruction, talk to your local district officer. The WRO is a military institution now."
