you know the personality type thing was overdone and annoying but at least when we had mbti stuff, y’all understood that people having vastly different emotional reactions to things was normal and okay and good, instead of acting like we all have to be happy whimsical hope-drenched silly little bunnies all the time or else we’re not good people.

So our system on a good communication day the other day had like..6? 7? Of us take the enneagram test, just out of curiosity and to practice communication

And we told our therapist about it and the whole differences, internal family systems of singlets, etc.

And then we asked what he thought our enneagram would be as a “whole”

And he told us to just…average the numbers?

Anyway the whole thing was an enlightening experience and I totally encourage those systems that are able to try it out because of the whole enneagram with childhood wounds as a part of the type, as well as just idk

Worst you can be is validated in your system when you see all the different results honestly it made the denial a lot better for a few days

Instincts are like so....

@subconsciousmysteries mentioned more clarity is needed regarding the chemistry orientation of the sx instinct. Basically, instincts are in the brain. 

The lower brain is about the bodily needs like food, water, sleep and sex. The midbrain and up has processing systems that you can categorise as seeking for resources, registering interpersonal awareness and attunement to chemistry.

To simplify things: sp is the lower brain (food, water, sleep, sex) and social and sexual is the midbrain and up. 

Another simplification: having sex for fun is sp. 

Having sex because you want to have children and not for fun means using sx in its basic sense. Genes are being recombined and a child is the result.  

Being sx-dom or sx-aux means you’re using sx in a much broader sense. You follow the things and the people that call to you. These things transform you and you’re another person because of them. You uproot your life and experience chemical dissolving and being remade, only different. That’s chemistry for enneagram-sx.  

And yes, most people will have sex both for fun and for procreation meaning they combine sp and sx. That wasn’t the point.
