[X] Pearl ESFP 3w2 so/sx

MBTI 

ESFP (Se-Fi-Te-Ni) 

Se (Extroverted Sensing)

I don't think there is any doubt that Pearl is an Se. No not because of aggressive behavior or impulsive tendencies but rather how much she constantly focuses on the present time. She tends to assess things at the moment and not thinking the future. Unlike an XNXJ she doesn't  seem to focus on a future idealistic self for a reason but rather is constantly trying to push for a better present. As seen as her ambition for moving away from her farm house. 

Fi (Introverted Feeling) 

Pearls Fi couldn't be more overstated. I originally considered typing her as an ISFP due to how much we see it however I believe pearl doesnt lead with her Fi but rather what is in the current moment. Pearls Fi is shown all throughout the film we see what her emotional needs are and she holds them very close to her. In her Monologue at the end of movie she expresses all of her frustrations on how lonely she feels. This monologue maps out her Fi and how much she wants a better life for her self (probably one of the better monologues this year Mia Goth deserves an award). 

Te (Extroverted Thinking)

While her Te isn't very presented in the movie her processes seem very much Se-Te oriented. When Pearl enters stress mode she tries to solve things hastily and trying to get things done very quickly. She becomes worrisome and tries to hide her crimes. Due to this she tends to be very forgetful and doesnt even remember saying things. For example when she is hiding her mothers body downstairs she quickly forgets she lied about it being a dog. This is an occurrence multiple times in the movie. 

Ni (Introverted Intuition) 

While Pearl doesn't seem to use her Ni as much as she should she still uses it or at least has some of her Ni visible. Going back to her final  monologue she looks inward to her emotional state and talks about the dyer consequences she has around other peoples life. She seems to understand how she wants to have the idealize life but can't due to her circumstances. 

Enneagram: 3w2 so/sx 

There is no doubt in my mind that pearl is a social type 3. She craves admiration from others and wants status as a way out of her life in the farm. However people have seemed to take the line “I want to be loved by most people as possible” (or something along those lines) to mean that she is a 2w3 sx/sp however I believe this is just bad media literacy and poor comprehension of the enneagram (sorry if this sounds crude). The arguments tend to compare Maxine and Pearl however they clearly don't understand that both of these charcaters are social threes at their very core. Both of them crave status and admiration from others. They both try ignore their inner turmoil rather than deal with it like a type 2. Enneagram type 2 sx (to be specific) care about submitting themselves into a rose tinted version for someone (Maddy Perez is a great example of a 2w3 sx/sp who's core motivating drive is to be loved by someone while creating an image of perfection). While pearl craves the status first therefore 3w2>2w3. Also Side tangent I've noticed that 3w2s get their ambition downplayed allot in comparison to 3w4s. In X (2022) we can see how maxine has disintegrated into 9 and become fully detached from reality. Some other quotes that her an Maxine share are the iconic “im a star”. Idk I just don't get how a character like pearl who's wants and needs are so on the nose can go over peoples head due to one quote from the trailer.

Aww I really like the combination!!! ESFP x ISFJ get along very well,, we're each other's shadow, and I like the bonding through enneagram 2, because that would make them very passionate and helpful for each other. Although I think there's a risk that ESFP 3 may be too flashy and flamboyant and kind of an attention seeker for ISFJ, that may or may not cope well with it, especially in terms of jealousy (2s are quite jealous, and the w1 wing would make them less in tune with ESFP 3's social needs). But if they work on boundaries and trust I think it's such a cool pairing!

I just can't decide between the two fors Ruby because... it kind of goes both way ??? Like Ruby definitely feels as INFP for the first half of the series; she's got a clear Fi > Ne preference... But then when she develops her Tert in V6 it's just... Te ? And she really doesn't show much Si actually she fits more the Si inf vibe in the form of forgetting about bad memories and her mom until people dig it up and she's like "nooo !" ?? So it looks like Te > Si but also Fi > Ne; conclusion idfk

Wooh this might get the anger of some (i have experience with the INFJ typers) but Blake goddamn REEKS of Fi. Less so recently but for the first seasons oh my god. She straights up catch you by the shirt and tells you "I'm doing the right thing"; and said right thing is so heavily dependant on her own subjectives values, which is why Blake can't reconcile with the current White Fang; because she doesn't have a strong Je vision of "what objectively works in the end", she only sees actions in terms of immediate right and wrong, and this b&w dichotomy stems from herself. What the WF is doing is wrong and the circumstances don't matter for judging the morality of their actions (of course I'm not talking about murder here bc that's pretty wrong ALL THE TIME but for example the stealing occuring in V1 bc of the WF is a better example)

Ironically I'm not sure about his type, kind of like you. I've mentionned I'm not very good at picking up on Ti right ? And Ren was a background character before V4 really. I would personally call him an INFJ. I... never really got INTP vibes from him ? I don't see the Fe inf work out with his interactions : he's always rather at ease, he knows how to navigate around people... His focus inherently lies on doing what's best for the "group", the people, humanity. Fx functions are both concerned with ethics, in different ways, and I think Oz reflects that well. He IS concerned with the moral weight of his actions, but it's a more adaptable and unpersonnal concern than Fi people. He regards Ironwood's soul machines as something wrong, but can still agree to use it if the situations demand it for example. So... if the INFJ + 5 makes sense to you, well that's what I'm typing him personally. I also feel like Ni fits him more than Ne. Ozpin has a very linear way of planning, he does use his fair share of symbolism in every day conversation... Even when taking decisions, he... kind of cares about the meaning of things a lot ? It's hard to explain but like; the way he highlights the difference between an army and a guardian, and the emotionnal response it brings. I don't know it feels like there's some Ni vibes in there x)

Oscar's type honestly isn't the one I would have the easiest time explaining in lenght but yea. It's mostly vibes; also just like Ozpin he doesn't seem to have a particularly Fi reasonning. And he feels more grounded, I don't really remember any Ni so... yay ?

Might be weird if you think he was a dictator from the start, but I kind of entertained the idea of Ironwood being Fe dom ? From his very first interaction it was very clear that he was a Je dom to me; he's all about objective results; he doesn't give off the "internal framework" or "personnal values" vibe AT ALL; so it was more a matter of picking Te or Fe. He LOOKS super Te don't get me wrong; but he also has an enneagram tritype that is very common amongst XXTJs (and TJs stereotypes thus derive from it). And just like Oz, his focus at all time seemed to be the greater good and doing what's best for the people still. So I was like... Eh, a "harsh" ENFJ I think that's interesting ? Plus Fe ethics actually derive from their environment, kinda like "everyone agrees that Y is wrong", and if you consider that James is from Atlas... Well his way of thinking and ethics align pretty well with the military.

His character took a turn for the worse in V8 (whether too quick or not depends on who you ask) and past that point he's a clear ENTJ; but I feel like it was more debatable before that. Idk though I might be overthinking this in the hope of making more interesting combinations xD

MBTI: Poe Dameron (Star Wars) - ESFP, 3w2

Written by Ryan (archive post from January 23, 2019) BLUH. You knew this was coming, didn’t y’all? It’s quite possibly the easiest typing in all of the Star Wars universe. So easy that the article will just type itself. Poe Dameron is an ESFP, and there ain’t no doubt about it. *SPOILERS FOR TLJ*

People were expecting another Han Solo, but Han Solo he ain’t. He’s quite the flyboy, pretty boy, enthusiastic friend, and unfortunately……reckless person. While he’s characterized as some sort of flawless perfect macho man in The Force Awakens, we’re finally exposed to his flaws in The Last Jedi. Thank you, Rian Johnson, for some character development. Se is obviously what Poe leads with. Everything to him is about the adrenaline rush first and foremost whether he likes to admit it or not. Even the opening scene of The Last Jedi, where he takes on an entire Star Destroyer in a single X-Wing and disables all of their turrets like he has a death wish. But he succeeds, against all odds. And then he gets a slap on the face from Leia, who is pretty unenthused by his antics and his inability to think things through……which is very common for ESFPs. For those who are not that familiar with MBTI, all types have a function stack, comprised of four functions based off of the four letters of the middle-two slots of any given type, combined with an “introverted” and “extroverted” modifier. These four functions are “stacked” in order to determine the go-to mental preferences for each function. The ESFP’s function stack goes like this: Se-Fi-Te-Ni (Extraverted Sensing, Introverted Feeling, Extraverted Thinking, Introverted Intuition)

“So…….we like each other, or what? China has to decide...” Back to a little bit of advanced theory though. Like I pointed out in my Kylo Ren article (of whom is also an ESFP), the Fi-Ni (secondary and inferior functions for ESFPs) loop for ESFPs can be deadly in a self-destructive way. Because of any sort of immaturity being brought on by Se-Te, which has a propensity to act in the moment and make blunt, objective, externally-focused judgments, the ESFP is one that may have charisma, but ultimately has a lot of maturing to do before stepping into any form of leadership role. And ultimately, Poe falls into this trap as the plot of The Last Jedi moves forward. As Leia is blown into space and flies back to the ship Mary Poppins-style (hey, the scene was NOT corny, you haters), she’s rendered unconscious and Admiral Holdo takes her place. Poe does not like this one bit, and those Se-Te and Fi-Ni loops really come into play as he makes some pretty stupid decisions such as sending Finn and Rose on a *dull* side-mission behind her back and staging a mutiny on the ship. Because of his brashness, it’s a wonder why anyone even listened to him in the first place.

Now, Poe is ultimately talked down to by Holdo and the way he reacts is just so Fi. If you haven’t seen it, then……then why are you still reading this? Spoilers, bruh!
