' i was worried today is going to be a hard day, but i'm glad jade senpai is here today '
' yeah same '
' i just talked to him not too long ago and i managed to forget about that hard test next week, his voice is always so charming and calming, it's like music to the ears '
' i thought the same ! it's like he has a melody in his way of speech '
' don't you think so Dana-san ? '
" i think you need a doctor if you start to hear songs when talking to people, jesus christ do you hear how you sound ?? " harsh but the undoubted truth in her eyes so there is no use going around it, she may be the only one here that doesn't understand what charm they are talking about, but she is pretty sure that they are insane. These kids need serious help, they start to have hallucinations at this point, but whatever, it's none of her business whatever weird shit they hear or see. She finishes washing some glasses then makes her way out from the bar.
" Hey slimy bitch, i'm going to my lunch break now "
//a little continuation from the work ask later that day

Tumblr media
It's a slow day, yet Jade hasn't felt the least irked by his supposed boredom. He diligently kept a list of items they sold as the waiters brought food and beverages to their respective tables, checking the receipts and their earnings and ensuring profits were going up. Azul would not have him in charge had he done it any other way. The restaurant, after all, is his lifeline.
He turns his head when Dana calls out to him. It's not the first time she's called him names, but outside of working hours, Jade takes his role as overseer of the restaurant very seriously. There's a sharp twinkle in his eye as he sports a grin, sharp teeth becoming visible where his lips parted. He gets to his feet, walking around his table towards Dana just as she exits the bar.
Insubordination would have been a good enough reason to dole out its respective punishment. None of the Octavinelle students dared to mess around with him once Jade put on his working attitude. Contrary to his usual goofy, playful self, Jade becomes a rather different person while he's managing the restaurant on behalf of Azul.
"What did you call me, Prefect?" He steps in between her and the exit, arms crossed behind his back as he traps her within the bar, blocking her path. The students who are close enough stop what they are doing as they notice the commotion, gazes sliding to the side, trying hard not to be obvious about peeking. "'Slimy bitch', I haven't heard wrongly, have I?"
It wasn't the first time she called him names, but it was the first time she'd done so in Mostro Lounge. Part of him understands that Dana wasn't being purposefully rude, that this is how she'd always behaved towards him outside of work. Except that they hadn't really known each other. She didn't know that Jade could be deadly serious when he had to keep up appearances. Nor did she suspect that as of late Jade had begun to realize that certain magic had not worked on Dana.
"If I recall correctly, I haven't offended you today to warrant such unprecedented disrespect. Perhaps you would like to justify your behaviour?" He stares her down, expressionless save for the signature smile he usually carries. "No?" He echoes when she fails to reply. "Then don't do it again. Repeated offenses would result in more than just a simple warning."
Tumblr media
Jade leans down as he finishes, this time his voice tailored down to nothing but a low whisper. "Don't do it while we're both working, at least," He adds, chuckling, just loud enough for the both of them to hear. "But it would be interesting to see how many variations of insults you are able to come up with solely just for me."

It had always been you, Dinodork!
You rushed through the school gates like a lightning, ignoring everything and everyone on your way. You were late… like, inappropriately late. And the fact, that you lived not far from the school, didn't help a bit.
All thanks to Suga. He told you to watch some freaky horror movie, that "was sooooo good, had many plot twists and was not scary at all". Does that even make sense?
Being a movie addicted, you watched it. What could go wrong? It is just a movie. Oh, you were so mistaken. IT.WAS.SCARY.AS.HELL. Bloody, creepy, scare jumpy… You couldn't sleep at all, you heard noises all over the house… Scratches, shadows, whispers… the whole package. In the morning, you were looking like a falling asleep on your feet Zombie-panda. Suga was going to pay you for the unforgettable experience and swollen eyes. That was your priority for the day, till everything took another direction.
You opened your locker with shaky hands and out of breath, not noticing a small bluish envelope, that fell out. You were about to pick it up, when someone stood behind, like a giant skyscraper. That took you completely off guard, and you forgot for good about the little envelope beside your feet.
"Senpai, you do know, highschoolers should not play videogames till the very morning, especially when they have problems with waking up in time?", you heard a snarky comment from behind. A pair of hazel eyes observed your every movement, analyzing. Why is he always there, when you are struggling?
"And you are collecting Dino figurines, Tsuki...shima...san", you blurted out and turned the opposite direction, not wanting to stay a minute under his tense gaze. You were almost gone, when you stopped and shouted.
"It was not a video game, it was a movie, Dork", you ran off as fast as you could, grinning like a devilish imp, with a taste of a small victory.
It was already some sort of kinky ritual between him and you – constant bickering, riling each other up, but never to the point of no return. You didn't realize, or maybe you just didn't want to realize, the simple reason for your daily word battles.
"Ah… You should already tell him… ", your friend sounded really confident.
"I don't understand a word you say"
"Mhm… Just make sure you don't break someone's heart in the process of understanding", that comment went past your ears.
The classes went unexpectedly fast and smooth. You went straight into the gym right after the bell rang.
You were helping Shimizu-senpai and Hi-chan at the Volleyball club during practices. It was almost always fun, although sometimes unbearable. Tsukishima was the reason for both of that conditions.
Some days, you were discussing new music releases or sharing playlists during long breaks. Surprisingly, your taste in music was not so different from his. You didn't actually emphasize this sort of connection. Although, from time to time you did think that all the tracks, that he shared with you, were a 100% hit for you. Did he actually choose them to make you feel happy, or were you overthinking?
The other days you were almost fighting about something stupid. And it was him, who always started the bickering. Especially, the times you were busy with Kageyama or pretty much everyone, except Yamaguchi. Daichi was so done with both of you, but silently accepted the situation.
"Suga-san, you remember that movie, you were so hyped about?".
"Yeah, what's with it?", he was smiling with the brightest and the most innocent smile.
"Did you tell me to watch it on purpose?".
"What? Why? How could you think of that?", he was giggling and didn't even try to cover it.
"Oh, yeah… it was on purpose! I knew it! You are going to pay for that, Suga-senpai, you know that, right?", you were up to a tickle battle of all the time. You started to approach him with a devilish smile.
"No! Daichi will snap again, and I'm gonna be the guilty one! Stop it!", he tried to retreat, but it was already late. You jumped at him from the back and started the tickle battle. It is not like you liked Sugawara, it is just that your bubbly personalities clicked, 100 % not in a romantic sense.
You were so much in the momentum, that you didn't even notice the heavy gaze of Mr. Salty. Even Sugawara noticed and tried to joke it out, but didn't succeed.
"Y\N-Senpai, don't you think it is quite pathetic, to chase your love interest in a place, where are many other people, who are not interested in your love life? ", he sounded almost like a snake, elaborating and emphasizing each word, with a grin on his face.
"Excuse me? ", to say you were shocked, doesn't mean a thing. You were about to explode. He was wrong in so much way. It was never your goal to romance someone from the Volleyball club. You were just being friendly and wanted to have a great time.
"Oh, you are so head over heals, that you can't hear now", he stated bluntly.
"What's gotten into you?", you tried to reason with him, but it was obvious that your heart sank to the bottom of your feet. And it kept sinking.
"I am just being honest. You should learn how to keep your love life away from school", he talked and talked with that monotonous blunt voice, that was getting under your skin.
You didn't quite understand why his words hurt so much. It wasn't something that could easily offend you, but why did it offend you. You wanted to tell him about hordes of girls, assaulting Tadashi with thousands of questions not about him, but about his friends. What? Why are you thinking of that? It is not like it is your business. You watched him talking, but it was a dead silence. And there came the answer…
I like him...
Everything that followed was happening in a blur. You grabbed your backpack and went through the gym doors. You wished you'd never understood the reason you subconsciously wanted to spend time with him, to share your thoughts, even the darkest one. You were trying so hard to compose yourself and not to catch a panic attack, that you didn't notice he followed you.
"What are you doing? Aren't you going to retort? What? Did I hurt your feelings by telling Sugawara-san about your affection?".
You stopped in your tracks.
"Say something, Senpai...", he almost demanded.
"What do you know about my feelings, Tsukishima? Why do you even care about it? ", you weren't crying, but he could tell by the bitterness of your voice, you were hurt, and it made him feel guilty.
"Is the idea of me caring about something once in a blue moon that repelling for you?", he mumbled, trying not to push any further and not to sound too soft.
"It is not repelling. Don't get me wrong. You tend to push people away, and to me, the reason is quite obvious. You can fool anyone wit h that snarky attitude, but not me. But this... ", you pointed to the gym.
"You can thank me later, when Sugawara-san asks you out, and you'll have your happily ever after. Or with the guy, who wrote you a love letter this morning", he clenched his fists and looking at the fireflies, dancing around the lamppost.
"Are you freaking kidding me? What the duck with the happily ever after? So now you are a Cinderella author? I thought you were into something more academic... Wait, what? What love letter?", you snapped. You were angry at him, at you, at the stupidity of the moment. How could two people not see the attraction between them. Ok, maybe it was hard for him to acknowledge the sentiments towards you, but you? You were open-minded and were always determined to tell people the way you feel about them.
"I am not a fan of love stories, like you... ", he started in a shaky, yet snarky manner.
"It had always been you, Dinodork!", you shouted at the limits of your lungs, not wanting to go through the second round.
"What?", he blinked, trying hard to analyze the words.
"I don't have feelings for Suga, Daichi, Kageyama or anyone else int this whole universe, except YOU!", emotions covered you and there was no turning back at this point. So, you just spilled out every damn emotion, that you had.
"I didn't intend to have this conversation, nor wanted I to confess the feelings, that I didn't realize I had for you, but here we are... Sorry to spill it all on you, and maybe, you can just ignore it. Don't worry, I am not going to stalk you like a crazy fangirl or something... I just better be going... ", you were sure you can escape in no time. So you did.
The moment you went past him, he grabbed you by the backpack and pulled into a kiss.
The world stopped. And then spun. It ended up in fireworks.
It wasn't that long, but it surely was tender, and you both took your time to savor the moment.
"And I thought I was bad at expressing my feelings, Senpai...".
"Oh, shut up, you could've kissed me long time ago, and we could've spared the team from this whole warfare, you Din...mhm...".
"Did you say something? I couldn't hear you", he was proud of himself. How could he not be?
"Baka.... Tsukishima baka... ".

In which I'm a clingy mess
(I want to put the whole thing under a cut but I'm afraid it'll be buggy again like last time, because this editor is buggy AF and god forbid you press Ctrl+Z out of habit and paragraphs jump around and/or disappear.)
2023.03.18 Espoon Kultturikeskus (Tapiolasali), Espoo
Part 1.
Senpai drove up to the stage door with the gear trailer at exactly 2:25 PM.
They'd recently upgraded, adding a trailer to the entourage of two vans, and apparently the roadies don't feel confident driving with that yet. (He told me this last week.)
I had warned him last week that I'd be there super early because I had a photo I wanted him to sign, and to give him a page with some comments about the new songs. He had been like, well if you don't get a chance to give that to me directly you can always give it to Pate to pass onward. The fact that he doesn't seem bothered by me writing all these notes to him kinda bothers me in return?
With that taken care of, I went on downtown to deal with another thing and went home to rest a bit and adjust my costume.
__________
Part 2.
Pendants are the new capes. They're significantly less unusual than capes, but they are artistic (rather than just a logo or something, as I've often seen with band jewelry) and individually handcrafted. As such, they were selling much faster than capes. There are a few making-of pics on the artisan's Instagram.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It strongly recalls the cheap metallic arrowhead pendant (like the cheapo ones you get if you search on AliExpress) I had in high school. This is apparently intentional, although it's specifically also intended to be heart-shaped. Sometimes it feels I'm being called back to be the teenage fangirl I never got to be, except with (a bit) more money, so even my teenage accessories are returning with upgrades.
__________
Part 3.
I spotted the one woman whom I'd met up with at the show in July. She hadn't seen them since then (and had fully expected me to be here). She was at the end of the first row, the blonde fangirls and some others in between.
I was kind of hoping they'd play more of the new songs, rather than the same ones they played on the pre-recorded performance that was on TV last week. (I know they have more prepared; the set from the night previous was slightly different.)
At one point the acrobat was helping run a guitar across the stage and of course he was barefoot so he tripped and faceplanted stylishly but it broke. The roadies fixed it but Pate wasn't happy and sent it back.
I watched Pate during Hetken ikuinen and I know just enough guitar to notice that his was tuned down, so my doing the same in my piano cover is consistent and valid ;)
And I guess the guitar solo in Kukaan ei koskaan gets a refresh with each new album or something? (It's tradition for them to play it at every show so they do need to keep it fresh.)
Hey this wide-angle thing on my phone is great, I can actually get the entire band into the picture even from the first row
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Never mind the time he broke the Finnish internet singing La Bohème on TV, if this doesn't give you chills I don't believe you
youtube
__________
Part 4.
"I don't know if this is an appropriate question, since I'm just a fan doing fan things, but which song should I cover next?"
"...like with the piano? Hmm, that's hard... Meissä asuu elämä could be good? It's a challenging one though."
Am I prepared for this challenge because it's gonna be a TOUGH one (I mean both in creating the arrangement and, uh, considering who's picking this.)
Of course it has to be the ONE song that isn't in the songbook so I actually have to work it out myself.
Realistically though I kind of want to focus on piano covers for a while, since they're a bit easier, and gosh that's a hard song to make a video for. I feel like I'd need access to documentary footage since it's about social justice.
__________
Part 5.
As I left (forgetting to take a selfie of my costume from one of the mirrors in the lobby) I checked the karaoke queue from my phone and it was practically empty, so I picked a drink and a song.
I finished the drink and it was still pretty early, so I wandered back over to the stage door, out of clinginess, mostly. Senpai was still there helping to load stuff. (Dang, it must really suck for him to drive that back to wherever their storage is and then all the way back home.)
I told him that nobody went to karaoke with me as I had anticipated (I'd mentioned this in my note, but I don't think he'd had time to read it yet) so I was gonna go home and cry.
"Or sing?"
"I already sang Kukaan ei koskaan and nobody there knows who the fuck I am so I'm going home and crying."
__________
Other stuff.
It's not like I want to be anywhere else doing anything else. I just wish there were more people to experience my happy moments with me. And maybe capture them so I have something to remember them by?
I often imagine myself as a character in a film and it's especially tragic that I never get to see what that film looks like from the other side.
Like having to ask strangers to take my self-portraits so I don't actually get the opportunity to set up the shot exactly how I want it.
__________
Other stuff, 2.
Speaking of self-portraits.
Here's my costume minus cape, I went larpy and took the blue cape to be kind of color-coordinated with the album cover (it's not quite the same shade). I'm just missing a brown t-shirt but the price of the new t-shirts is a bit steep at 40€ and my pants are already brown.
(As I've written previously I put a lot of thought into my outfits!!)
(They got party noisemakers last summer and I was like lol??? why??? But then I got the sword holder and actually it was exactly to acquire and put the horn into, so I haven't taken the plastic off yet.)
Tumblr media
__________
Other stuff, 3.
Some of the groupies have... roles. For example, there's at least two whom you could describe as the "embedded photographers". Of course they have an official, paid photographer who gets to run around, but these two also have nice cameras and a significant number of the concert snapshots they post on social media are from them.
And then there's the blonde fangirls, well, I'm not sure how I'd describe their role. They're just extremely fangirly and collect set lists. (And if I pieced together the puzzle correctly, it's one of them who drew the artwork on the playing cards. So in a sense it is fan art even though she was commissioned to do them.)
So what's my role? Cape model? Walking clingy sob story?

“Senpai~♡”
synopsis 💭;; Tanaka gets jealous bc some bitch talking to his man.
note 🖋️;; IT TOOK A WHOLE FUCKIN WEEK TO WRITE THIS. WHY DOES WORK ALWAYS PREVENT ME FROM DOING THE THINGS I LIKE? WHAT THE ACTUAL FU- by the way, ‘Isayama Misaki’ is based off of some asswipe I used to know- also, I ran out of ideas at the end, so it kinda cuts of lf at the good part. I apologize to the anon that requested this.
Requested by anon ♡
Male pronouns used
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tanaka wasn't a jealous man. Or at least he'd like to think so.
(Y/n) was pretty popular around campus, so it wasn't a surprise to see a few fangirls here or there. It kinda reminded him of Oikawa—except (Y/n) didn't exactly pay his fangirls any attention. (And he didn't have an ass as flat as printer paper.) But did that stop them from trying to get into his pants? No.
In all honesty, Ryu felt lucky that he had someone like (Y/n) as a boyfriend, although he didn't like the fangirls—who paid him no mind whenever they were together. It annoyed him that they kept surrounding (Y/n) who clearly wanted nothing to do with them, begging him for dates, one night stands, anything.
To say that Tanaka was mildly uncomfortable was an understatement.
🌇🌇
Today was a bit different. Instead of a crowd of women rushing towards (Y/n), it was just one—; Misaki Isayama. The woman (almost) every guy considered perfect. This was...manageable, but what did she want? Well—at least it was only one girl. He had only woken up a little over an hour ago, and wasn't exactly ready for his simps just yet.
“(L/n)-chan, can you help me study for the science exam that's coming up?”
“Just because you're my upperclassman, doesn't mean you can call me that.” (Y/n) said quietly, rubbing his eyes, then yawning. “I'm on my way to the lecture hall though, so maybe after that? I should be fully awake by then..”
Misaki smiled and nodded her head. “It's a date!”
“No. No it's not.”
🏙️🏙️
Tanaka let (Y/n) lean on him during the lecture. That turned into one sided cuddling from the sleepy man. Ryu thought it was cute how (Y/n) always clung to him when he was sleepy. He was a little sad when (Y/n) fully awoke, and let him go, but it was for the best.
“Oh, Ryu-san. I'm tutoring the rumored ‘perfect woman’, and it's gonna be awkward with just the two of us, so can y—”
“You headin to the library? I was on my way there anyway. I'll join ya.”
The (h/c) haired man nodded, and they both walked all the way to the other side of the schoolyard to the library building. Tanaka even held (Y/n)'s hand to flex on the girls they passed by. Some of the girls were noticeably annoyed or a little angry, which pleased him.
When they finally arrived, Misaki was standing by the door. Upon seeing Ryu, she scowled. But it was only for a second.
“Ah, (L/n)-kun..who's this?”
(Y/n) smiled, oblivious to Misaki and Tanaka glaring at each other. Needless to say, the intense atmosphere went right over his head. “This is my boyfriend..Tanaka. He'll be joining us if that's okay.”
“‘Perfect woman’ my ass..the only ‘perfect woman’ I know is Kiyoko-san.” Tanaka mumbled under his breath. (Y/n) may not have known, but Misaki and Tanaka were always competitive with each other. Other times he wouldn't have cared, but now that (Y/n) is what he's fighting for, he wasn't gonna back down.
“Oh, it's fine.” Misaki said through gritted teeth.
🏙️🏙️
Isayama and Tanaka were left sitting at a table alone, while (Y/n) searched for the science books. They sat in complete silence, but it was almost as if you could hear their thoughts—mentally arguing with one another.
(Y/n) returned with three books, seating himself between Isayama and Ryu. “Okay! Let's get started!”
***
As (Y/n) went on explaining the laws of physics (because Tetsurou used to tutor him), Misaki and Tanaka continued their epic staring battle. The battle ended once they noticed that (Y/n) had stopped talking. He was chewing his tongue in thought, trying to figure out how to pronounce a word.
Misaki didn't notice, but (Y/n) had gone from physics, to microbiology. In less than five minutes.
“Something wrong?”
“How do you say this word again..?” The (e/c) eyed man pointed to a bolded word in the textbook, leaning back a bit so the other two could see.
A suffocating silence reigned over the three of them, but only for about three seconds.
Isayama squinted a bit before she spoke. “Endothelial?”
“Oh yeah. Thanks, senpai.”
Isayama smiled smugly at Ryuunosuke. The said man had a visible tick mark (💢) on the side of his head, symbolizing his annoyance. Tanaka only wanted (Y/n) to call him ‘senpai’—even if they were the same age (if not, then (Y/n) might be older). It made him feel like he was a dependable upperclassman, maybe even a bit turned on in certain situations. But hearing (Y/n) call someone else senpai..made him a little sad.
His thoughts were interrupted by his phone vibrating. As Tanaka reached into his pocket to get his phone, he caught (Y/n) putting his own phone in his jacket pocket. Tanaka turned on his phone to see a message from (Y/n) in his recent notifications.
Pretty boy💖: Go to the bathroom. I'll join you later.
Although he was a bit confused, he got up from his chair. “‘M gonna go take a leak.” Ryu said as he started to make his way towards the men's restroom.
Almost five minutes pass before (Y/n) goes into the bathroom after Tanaka, telling Misaki that he was checking on him. As soon as (Y/n) had passed the first bathroom stall, he was yanked into the second one, the door locking almost immediately after it shut behind him. He wasn't given any time to react before he felt a familiar pair of soft lips violently smash against his own. (Not violent enough to make his mouth bleed or anything. Chill.)
A heated battle for dominance arose between the two, (Y/n) quickly taking the lead as he gently bit Ryu's lip.
They didn't want this to end, but eventually Tanaka had to break the kiss because he couldn't breathe. He stood there, breathless in his boyfriend's arms, not wanting (Y/n) to let go.
“Ryuunosuke..” Tanaka flinched upon his first name being said—even though (Y/n) said it many times before. His reaction brought a smile to (Y/n)'s face. “I love you~..” He said, drawing out the three words in a sing-song voice.
Ryu felt his legs getting weak, and held onto (Y/n) for dear life. (Somewhat out of fear that he might fall.) He wasn't actually feeling like this because of three words...right? “Babe..am I supposed to be kinda horny right now?” It was a bit of a strange question, but hey, it never hurts to ask.
(Y/n) chuckled. “Well, yeah. I might have to carry you out of here once we're done.” His warm smile from earlier didn't falter as he spoke.
‘How can he say something like that so casually? If I say something like that, I'd get d–’ Ryu's thoughts were snapped away when he felt his chest touch the stall divider and his pants being pulled down. He let out a soft moan as (Y/n) stroked him through his boxers.
🏙️
‘What the hell is taking them so long?!’ Isayama got up from where she sat, and went to the men's bathroom. There wasn't anyone around, so no one would see her going in. She opened the first stall's door. ‘If they ditched me, I swear to go–’
“W-Wait, (Y/n)!~ Haa!~♡”
“Geez senpai, you're so wet inside~..♡”
Misaki froze. She couldn't be sure that it was (Y/n) and Tanaka in there—but those were definitely Tanaka's pants hanging over the second stall's door. Now she felt more..curious than angry. Isayama slipped into the first stall, carefully and quietly closing the door behind her, and slowly locking it so it didn't make noise.
Ryu tried to keep his breathing steady as (Y/n) fucked him with his fingers—even though that did absolutely nothing to help his current situation. Hell, he couldn't even process words anymore. The only actual word he could say was his boyfriend's name. He eventually remembered how to speak after about two minutes of being finger-fucked.
He wanted to sound more demanding, but his voice came out more whiny than what he'd have liked it to. “Fuck me already..ya fuckin– Hng!~” It may have been that he couldn't process it, or that (Y/n) had moved at the speed of sound, but Tanaka wasn't able to register how fast (Y/n) pulled his fingers out, and shoved his cock into his still tight hole. He wanted to say something, but all that came out was a choked whine.
“You were saying?~♡” (Y/n) asked, though it sounded more like a demand than a question.
Tanaka wasn't given a chance to answer due to (Y/n) ruthlessly fucking the poor man senseless. His loud whines and moans echoed throughout the bathroom, much to (Y/n)'s pleasure. He wanted everyone to know that he was a taken man. He wanted everyone on campus to hear Ryuunosuke's pleasurable cries.
Hearing the two men fucking in the next stall turned Isayama on to no end. (Even though it was more of (Y/n)'s voice that made her wet.) But she resisted touching herself because she wouldn't be able to forgive herself if she masturbated to her rival getting fucked. (A kinda stupid reason, but okay.)
“Fu–fuck, (Y/n)!~ So good..it feels so good!~” Ryu babbled, the words almost incoherent as he attempted to push back against his boyfriend's cock. “More!~ Give me more!~♡” He begged, voice broken and choking on his own breath.
The (e/c) eyed man didn't say a word. As his senpai had politely asked of him, (Y/n) drove his cock so deep into Tanaka that the said man let out the loudest drawn out moan (Y/n) had ever heard from him. If it weren't for the cum spewing from the teary eyed man, (Y/n) would've thought he had hurt his lover. He wasn't entirely sure until he felt Ryu continue to push back against him, desperate for more friction.
“Aww..you're so cute when you act like a bitch in heat, senpai~..♡”
He only got a choked whine in response.
“I'm pretty close anyway..do you want it inside?~♡” (Y/n) asked, pulling the shaky man up to his chest. Again, only a whine. (Y/n) parted Ryu's lips with his fingers, those fingers soon being coated in saliva. “Use your words~..”
Finally, Tanaka spoke, despite his unintentional dry heaving. “Fuck me- please~..”
“As you wish~♡” (Y/n) almost whispered, gripping Tanaka's cock firmly, earning another broken moan from the said man. “You're the only person I'd fuck like this, you know that, right?” He said, as he rubbed the shorter man's stomach.
“Y-Yeah..that makes me happy~..”
Tumblr media
Lmao this was like- 80% highschool drama (in a college setting), and the remaining 20% being me getting horny for no reason. Also, I'm aware this made no sense. None of the stuff I write makes sense. :)
The class session is now over!~♡

note: honey you mean OUR husband nanami - because i love him a lot as well TT and of course gojo will do that lol - he just wants nanami to get off his ass and ask you out before some random ass boy tries to steal you away. but i love this honestly, such a cute request for our husband TT
pronouns: she/her
note: very long because i love nanami and more people need to give him love
Tumblr media
you and nanami met in the park one day, and it was because of a weird ability that only you two share that bonded the both of you together
nanami had always been able to see curses, but he hates telling people this; espeically the adults, who just think that he is making things up for attention and will lecture him for it
so he had learnt to ignore it for awhile now, pretending that he does not see that weird catfish like curse lurking in the pond that he stood next to as he fed the ducks
“h-hey - can i feed the ducks next to you?” a shy and sweet voice had called out, causing for him to look over to see you; dressed in a cute flowery dress and haired pulled back with a matching fabric headband. “i wanna feed the ducks too...but i don’t like the scary monster in the water...”
“...you can see it too?” nanami asked you in shock, having never met anyone who can see the things he does; even his parents were blissfully unaware of the weird creatures and monsters that lurk in almost every corner of the small town you live in
when you had shyly nodded your head in reply to his words, you had no idea that it was the start of your relationship that will last a lifetime
because you were from the same town, you two basically became the best of friends; going to the same preschool and middle school together, spending most of your free time playing with each other, and always seeking each other out even if you two have different friend groups
when he had developed his technique, he uses to exorcise a few of the low level curses that are in your town - of course he does to quietly and in the covers of shadows so no one will notice
he always make sure that there are no curses near you that can scare you, and if they try to attack you or are scaring you too much, he’d exorcise it - yet at the time he didn’t really know what he was doing
he had remember once when you had come crying into his room, clinging onto him since there were a few fly heads that were terrorising your room - you had no idea how they had managed to enter, but they were knocking things off your shelf and scaring the living daylights out of you
nanami had entered your room and somehow dealt with them, even staying the night by sleeping on the floor next to you on your futon; only to make space for you in the middle of the night so you two can curl up together when you were too anxious to fall asleep
with how small your town along the outskirts of Tokyo is, everyone there is tight-knit and very close with each other; with very strong family-centered and peaceful living values instilled in everyone from the moment they are born
everyone was pretty sure that one day you two are going to marry one another, with how you two come as a package deal as the years go by. even your families have pretty much accepted that fact and just act like they are in-laws a this point
when he was offered a space at Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College for high school, he was hesitant - this will be the first time that he is going to be away from not only you but the town you lived in, and the first time either of you had been separated from one another ever
yet you were the one who encouraged him to go to school there, since he’d be wasting his potential if he doesn’t - you didn’t want to be the reason for him to stay back in your small town
so he had went, and now you two mostly spend time on your phone; calling and texting one another late into the night, even if you have classes the next day
there was once, during your long break, that you had decided to take a bullet train up to tokyo to spend the weekend with nanami and to explore the city that you’ve always wanted to visit
so he had waited for you by the train station, dressed in his simple Jujutsu High Uniform with his then wrapped sward resting in a weapons bag over your shoulders - smiling softly when he spotted you before catching you in his arms when you launched yourself into his embrace to give him a long awaited hug
soon you found yourself standing before the temple that hides the college within, looking around in awe as you latched onto his arm, walking beside him with the most entranced look on your face that had nanami watching you with the softest of smiles
it was there that you had met his small group of classmates - the bright and positive haibara who had stuck to your side to ask you a few more questions about his usually quiet classmate
the second years had just returned from classes, the three of them turning into the main hallway just in time to see you giggling up at nanami at a joke that haibara made; and gojo’s eyes nearly popped out of his head at the sight of his usually cold kouhai smiling back at you so freely
it took him a few seconds to realise that you were probably the reason why nanami spend so much time on his phone, to which he just grinned and rubbed his hands together; this action causing geto and shoko to just sigh tiredly
operation: getting nanami laid is a go
“kent-kun~ you never told me about your pretty little friend.” gojo called out as he skipped over to his junior, his grin widening at how nanami’s expression dropped as he gave his senpai the most unamused look on his face
yet you were just curious as you blinked up at the tall man, offering a warm smile as you untangled one arm from nanami’s and held it out for gojo to shake.
“my name is l/n y/n, and i am from kento’s hometown. it’s nice to meet you!” you had greeted him with a wide and warm smile, causing everyone in the hallway to just stare at you before it was wordlessly decided that they were going to protect you from all the curses of the world
saying that, gojo is still going to go ahead with his plan on making nanami confess to you
so the entire time you were there, he made sure to suck up to you, being extra nice to you and giving you a few flirtatious comments here and there - but you just brushed him off with a soft smile, not really interested at his advances at all
but pushing him aside lol - you loved meeting his seniors, who asked a little more about yourself and how you seem so casual with the idea of nanami being able to see Curses
it was then you admitted that you can see and sense Curses as well, but you had no Inherited Curse Technique, meaning that you were just the every day civilian with the exception of seeing Curses
they also took the chance to ask questions about their usually quiet kouhai as well, wanting to know more about his life back home in your town that he keeps so private
usually nanami will be against it, but since you were laughing and giggling at all the fond memories you two share, he decided to let it go for once - even if it’s all at his expense
the rest of the weekend was a blast - nanami brought you about tokyo to see all the tourist sights, visit a few places that he loves to shop at or drop by from time to time, letting you try all the different street snacks and famous restaurant to your hearts content
but it is when you’re in the college that he is the most annoyed with - not at you, no. but at gojo - who kept flirting with you and kept making jokes with you about random things
if that wasn’t bad enough, you had shared a few laughs with the older male, since a few of his jokes were genuinely funny - and that had nanami fuming
geto probably took pity on the dense boy before he started to nudge at him to confess his very obvious feelings he had for you, since it was obvious that the both of you are very much in love with one another
it was either he confesses, or more dumbasses like gojo might try to pull something like this on him and take you away from him
and even though he was sure that wouldn’t happen, the more he thought about it, the more he realised that geto might be right - and that there is a chance he is going to loose you to someone if he doesn’t act fast
and there is no way he is going to loose to that white-haired ferret - no wat in hell
when he had returned home for the semester break, meeting you up at the train station where you greeted him with a wide smile that you only reserve for him and pulling him into your warm and comforting embrace, he just sighs in relief and holds you close as well, taking a few moments to just appreciate you
throughout the semester, he had slowly build up the courage to confess his feelings to you - making a rough plan of how things are going to go before he went full on ham on the day he plans on confessing
and if we know something about nanami - it is that this man always stick to his plan
for most of your free days, the both of you are out on dates; visiting old favorites of yours, trying out the new restaurants and cafes that you’ve yet to visit, going to a few arcades, and even a few stores to just do some window shopping together
it went on like that for a few days before he suddenly asked if you wanted to go out to visit the nearby festival that your town is holding - which you agreed with a warm smile on your face before he promised to drop by your home
you had decided that since it was a festival, you’d put on one of your most favourite yukata pieces - a beautiful dark blue one made of silk, with cranes and clouds printed all over the fabric, a simple dark blue obi to tie it all off
nanami had decided to wear a simple grey kimono, since it just adds to the excitement of going to a festival - so when he saw you dressed for the occasion as well, he smiles and takes your hand in his, telling you how beautiful you looked
while you were still fangirling about the comment, nanami promised your father to bring you home before midnight, to which the older man just smiles and waves him off; knowing that he can trust nanami to keep his word and make sure you’re safe
when you two were there you had a blast - trying out all the different kinds of candies and treats, playing a few games, and visiting a few vendors that have set up shop at the tourist spots as well
nanami had even won you a cute seal plushie, one that you hugged to your chest in delight the entire time with the brightest smile on your face; nanami blushing and rubbing the back of his neck bashfully at how that look was directed right at him
he had confess that night when the both of you were just admiring the stars and the moon visible in your small town, asking if you had wanted to officially become his girlfriend
when you had agreed the biggest and most happiest smile on your face, launching yourself in his arms with an excited giggle while he smiles and hugs you around the waist, happy that you had agreed
to be honest there was not much of a change between your current relationship and the one you had before - the only difference is the more physical aspects of your relationship, and how open nanami is when it comes to showering you in affection
when gojo had found out that you two finally got together, he just grinned and clapped his hands in delight, happy that nanami finally got off his ass to admit his feelings for you
and as much as nanami hates that gojo will forever take credit for the both of you getting together, he isn’t wrong either. but there is no way in hell is he going to admit that to the older man
even when he was a salesperson or return to the jujutsu world after awhile, he is forever going to be the protective boyfriend that he is
an arm around your waist whenever you two are out together, sharp eyes glaring at anyone who stares at you a bit too long or is eyeing you up like you’re a piece of meat
doesn’t stop you from wearing things like short dresses or low riding tops if it makes you happy, but will make sure that you are safe whenever you go out together; tossing a jacket over you if you get cold, and keeping a hand on your thigh the entire time
even now he makes sure that you’re safe, texting you when he gets a mission so you aren’t in that part of town where he is going so you’re not hurt by the curses that are roaming that part of town
by the way, it didn’t take him that long to propose to you and ask if you wanted to get married to him, which you agreed to with the same enthusiasm that you had when he asked you to be his girlfriend all those years ago
and he’s never been more grateful that he gets to call you his

How- how did I just discover your blog? I really like the pale blue aesthetic! Anyways, if it's okay, can I ask for the marine bio club taking their shy fem s/o out on an aquarium date please? Thank u! (and mayhaps a first kiss too pls)
「 aquarium date + first kiss with a shy!s/o: marine bio club 」
a/n: ahh thank you for liking the pale blue and also requesting!! and ofc ofc i love them, i hope i at least can make you smile with this! and the words are around 1.8k if im not wrong but still! im sorry that it gets shorter toward the end anonn
pairings: shinkai kanata, hakaze kaoru, kanzaki souma x shy!reader (seperate)
Tumblr media
↬ there wasn’t much of a crowd the day you and kanata went to your aquarium date. maybe even the universe wanted for you two to be off in your own little world, not like the both of you haven’t done so. shinkai was the one who asked you out on a date shortly after you were officially announced as a couple.
☆ walking along the entrance of the aquarium, your eyes immediately brightened up in amusement. it’s been a long time since you visited an aquarium so to have kanata bring you here is perfect. “the aquarium looks nice right? looking at the fish heals me.” he said. you nodded in response, excitement awaits you the more you stepped into the place. all of a sudden, a hand holds out toward your direction.
“h-huh?” by his sudden gesture, you find yourself quite flustered. but not wanting to let kanata wait, you timidly placed your hand over him. he intertwined it with a smile flashed at you. “hehe, now we won’t lose each other.” with that said, you walked to your first exhibition, holding hands with your blue haired boyfriend.
↬ watching how his eyes lit up, the way his mouth curved upward by bits, how he interacts with the marine life inside the humongous tank and how they responded to him so naturally, having your first date at an aquarium truly is the perfect way to start off your relationship.
☆ although that doesn’t mean you’re the only one who feels this. kanata loves how amazed you’re at each marine life you saw, how intently you listened to his words about some fishes and also the way you giggle happily because a guppy swimmed to you from your calls. it would be nice if he can take a picture of you right now, sadly his phone is now being repaired.
well it’s alright then, kanata will just save this sight of you in his mind, he’ll make sure he keeps it well. the sight of you waving at his sea friends with a warm smile on your face, blue shades of lighting surrounding you was more than enough for him to never let himself forget this moment.
↬ it’s a shame that you were already nearing the end of the aquarium, your pace had gotten slower as you lightly swinged your hand which was intertwined with kanata’s. the blue haired stopped on his track, pointing to a flapjack octopus, “that’s flapjack octopus, cute right?” he remembered some days before that you wanted to see said octopus in real life. kanata is glad you seemed to forget that their sweet first date is coming to an end, he doesn’t want to see you sad anymore.
☆ your eyes widened slightly at the rare sight of the octopus, you were so excited to be able to see it for the first time. he lets go of your hand and told you to go up closer, you were such a mysterious being, in a lovely way. for him now, seeing you happy is the best view than seeing any other sea friends of his happy!
while kanata too, doesn’t know where his impulse came from but he took a glance at you. without any warnings, he leaned in straight without hesitation until his lips met yours. you frozened up at your place, obviously startled by it. remember how earlier you said you were quite flustered? now you’re beyond flustered.
“ka- kanata.. you..” poor you, too surprised to even say a coherent sentence. you didn’t make an effort to hide the growing shades of roses on your cheek.
“did you.. not like it? maybe that was too sudden.. I’m sorry.” if it wasn’t for the fact that you can easily notice changes on his expression, no one would know that he feels guilty and gloomy for his love gesture just now.
you panicked at your sad lover and his misunderstanding, “wait kanata no! I, I like it very much!” the moment you realized what you just blurted out, you were sure your face was akin to a tomato.
kanata cracked a smile on his face as he replied to your words of assurement, “ehe, I like it very much too.” oh dear, he’s too dangerous for your poor and timid heart. except you won’t mind him making your heart palpitates out of love.
Tumblr media
↬ when he heard that you’ve been wanting to go to aquarium, kaoru was quick to plan a perfect aquarium date in his mind. he was so eager to make you think this was one of the best date you’ve ever gone to but at the same time he’s panicking. sure, kaoru has gone on a few dates at the aquarium but this is you! he’s going on an aquarium date with you! he wants to make it more special!
☆ you looked at your watch and wondered if ever your lover will come to the date. did he suddenly have work to do? just when you were about to call him, a rushed footsteps could be heard from afar.
“soー sorry.. I was too caught upー” he stopped his words the moment you caressed his back as a way to tell him to calm down. before he explains whatever reason it was for his late arrival, you told him to catch his breath first. besides, the mini bouquet he’s gripping seems to give out the answer.
↬ you took out your phone to take a selfie of you and the scenery of the marine life swimming around. despite being shy to ask kaoru to be in the selfie along with you, you asked him, “hey kaoru, do you want to take a selfie together?”
☆ without any thinking made, kaoru took your request positively. happily if I must point it out. he bent himself down to fit into your camera, the close proximity maybe did make your ears red. it’ll be nice if kaoru didn’t see your reddening ears. “one.. two..” and on the count of three, you clicked the button.
you thought the picture would probably look nice if it weren't for the fact that kaoru suddenly kissed your cheek when your finger clicked the button. now the only thing you’re thinking of is how red you must be from the abrupt kiss. in some way, kaoru is thankful that you’re hiding your face from him or you would’ve seen just how he’s more flustered even if he’s the one who initiates it.
↬ around the exit for the aquarium, there was a souvenirs shop. kaoru took a plushie of a sea animal that he remembered you saying is your favorite and rushed to you who’s waiting outside the shop after he paid for it.
☆ he took a few seconds before calling out to you, let the guy soften down when he saw you pat the small bouquet he bought for you. if you’re going to smile that way whenever he gives you a small bouquet then kaoru is willing to do it everyday.
and if your smile gets as cheerful and happy as this, if your eyes will brighten up more than ever akin to a star, then he will buy you lots and lots of plushies. a gift from kaoru to you; so that he’ll always be in your mind. just like you never leaving his. so out of the spur of the moment, he asked if he can kiss you. you looked up to meet his eyes and before kaoru could say anything about his question to not let you feel uncomfortable, you answered with a yes. take the lead kaoru, your s/o is letting you kiss him.
kaoru probably had created many different scenarios of your first kiss but outside of an aquarium souvenir shop is not one of them. vacant of people around them, you took this rare chance to put away your things, hold kaoru’s forearms, tiptoe on your feet and left a 5 seconds kiss on his lips. after constantly being on the teased side, seeing your boyfriend so flustered with love was fun. the kiss felt sweet too. not like you were any better. this was the first time you’ve ever done that.
Tumblr media
↬ how do you go to an aquarium date? usually in an aquarium, souma will just walk around, admiring and studying the marine life inside the tank. but what if you thought that was boring? this is a date, while he’s content with just walking around with you beside him, talking about all the sea lifes.. what about you? and despite him being embarrassed, he lowered his pride and asked for help from the people around him. (his akatsuki senpais gives really good advice! as expected of them!)
☆ at the first place, when you caught hints of souma worrying over if you’ll feel content with just walking around with him, you almost snorted. really, what was he mulling about, just knowing that you’re going to be with him is enough to make a bashful smile up your face. now that you and him are dating, you really wish he would know that and you’ll tell him that during your awaited aquarium date.
fast-forward to when the two of you were already inside the date location. just before you and souma started venturing into the place full of sea lifes, you found yourself holding your breath when you asked the purple haired, “do you.. want to hold hands?” souma wants to hold hands with you too! he wants even if he was inexperienced with affections. and he would never wish to see you disappointed.
for the greater, we’ll just feign ignorance to the growing blush on the both of you.
↬ you were doing exactly what he thought would make you feel bored but the joyous expression you have says otherwise. souma glanced at his hand which hasn’t left yours since then, your hand in his was perfect. like it was meant to be holding one another. the nervousness he felt while starting his day today was subdued by the time you’ve spent with him.
☆ “um.. souma?” he responded to your call almost immediately with a voice that seemed more warm than before. you turned your head toward him and looked straight in his light purple eyes, “you see, it doesn’t matter where or how, as long as I’m with you, I’ll always be happy with that.”
ending your words, you instantly looked elsewhere. souma never expected you to mutter those words to him, he appreciates you for that. you were right and that fact goes the same way with him. souma also loves how shy you become after saying those kinds of things, it makes his heart swell with adoration. the hand holding yours was tightening his hold yet it feels more calm.
↬ somewhere in the aquarium, tucked from public’s eyes, souma with his face covered in pretty red was still in disbelief. your lover being in such a situation, it helps soothe your own bashfulness too.
☆ with souma, he always makes sure to have your consent first before doing anything. that goes the same with kisses, more precisely a first kiss. he was surprised with himself too from his own little selfish request but there was this urge to lay a kiss on your lips. “may.. I kiss you?” he said, requested, asked, whatever it is, the only answer you’ll give will never change.
and again, somewhere in the aquarium, tucked from public’s eyes, souma cupped your cheek with one hand and leaned in. the process was slow, he looked into your eyes with his face dusted of rose shades. the kiss also felt long despite lasting for a quick 3 seconds.

Expectations | Shirabu Kenjirou x Reader
Tumblr media
✧ Summary: Having attended Shiratorizawa Academy from junior high, you were familiar with most of the students in your year. They were average, nothing special — until a certain vbc setter, from god knows whatever small town junior high he crawled out of, changed up your world. -> Tag: maybe language cause it’s shirabu; fluff and jealousy + slight angst
---xXxXxXxXxXxXxXx---
Shirabu Kenjirō was a living, breathing pillar of salt. And it was rightly so. He was the friend, the shoulder to cry on, and the person that everyone viewed as reliable. This was not entirely a bad thing, since he was viewed as much more dependable than others. And this idea was not limited to volleyball. But being placed in that category separated him from the very people who put him there. The girls viewed him as, at most, a friend. He was the king and leader of the friend zone.
It was the end of his second-year and he would soon be taking over as captain of the boys’ volleyball team. He justified lack of love life on the fact that he had bigger things to focus on. And after their crushing defeat, Shirabu reasoned that Shiratorizawa needed a focused captain to lead them to victory.
But the road to triumph was… rather lonely.
Shirabu had his team with him one-hundred percent and silently appreciated them for their confidence and own unfailing determination (he won't admit out loud!) But it seemed like he was surrounded by couples. His kouhai, Goshiki Tsutomu, found comfort in another first-year that was a regular on the women's volleyball team.
Couples were disgusting.
Of course, majority of the members of the male volleyball were single. Ushijima was a super volleyball idiot and his focus seemed to never stray from the sport. But even with his cinnamon roll personality, the female base of Shiratorizawa seemed to flock to him. He was undoubtedly very handsome and tall. His grades were well above average and his fan club was incredibly prominent. Ushijima had all the makings of a great man and was noticed as such by a large pool of the student body. The difference was that Ushijima was willingly single.
Shirabu, deep in the non-explored depths of his heart, wanted to be noticed like his Senpai. When playing volleyball, Shirabu strived to be the type of setter that went by unnoticed and drew out the strength of his ace. And he knew the consequences of such. But still. He was the main setter on a highly prominent team and his skills are not hard to notice.
Maybe it was his rough personality? Pft. He would never change that for a person, no matter how special.
Shirabu was above average height and had amazing grades in a prestigious powerhouse. What wasn’t there to like? His sense of style was trendy and he was complimented on his clothes more than once. He as not too preppy like Goshiki and not too wild like Tendou. Was it his looks? His bangs were unusual, but they weren't as bad as coconut-head/bowl/Goshiki. Since entering adolescence, he failed to ever break-out and was blessed with marvelous clear skin. On more than one occasion, he would stare at the mirror and truly wonder just why.
Why was no one interested?
Enter you.
You attended Shiratorizawa in both middle and high school. Coming from a wealthy family, there was nothing standing in your way. You were fairly popular and had seen the multiple personalities flit through your advanced classes. And in your first-year came Shirabu, an outsider to Shiratorizawa from a lower-class middle school. After being in the system for three-years, you knew almost everyone and seeing a new face was refreshing.
From the very start, you wanted to bet to know him more. But he was incredibly reclusive and mysterious to the general student body. Nobody could answer your questions. Well. Nobody except a certain Salami and volleyball idiot. You shared an advanced statistics class with the two third-year volleyball players in your first year and from them you were able to peer more and more into the life of Shirabu Kenjirō.
“Why do you want to know, (F/N)-chan?” Tendou instigated, “You have a crush on him?”
“Please, Salami calm down.” He raised his hands and gasped, “Come on. There isn’t a single person in this school who I don’t know and suddenly nobody knows anything about him?”
“He is smart and adaptable.” Ushijima chimed in.
“And a little shit, that’s for sure.” Tendou stated. You rolled your eyes and returned your attention back to the statistics teacher. Sure, you wanted to learn more. But this class was hella hard and you still needed good grades. Eventually, you were able to gradually acquire more information and Kenjirō. You learned that he was the only player from the boys’ volleyball team to not get into Shiratorizawa with a sports scholarship. Instead, he got in on his own accord through the arduous exams and good grades.
The more you discovered, the more you liked him.
Shirabu had a work ethic that you hadn't seen in a while. Being in this particular school-system for so long ruined your perception of it. You perceived most of your classmates to have a truly pretentious or judgmental personality, but showing to be as sweet as honey to your face. Of course they wanted to be your friend, who wouldn't with your last name?
He hadn't.
Shirabu was straight-forward with a tongue laced with salt. Sign you the fuck up!
He had no qualms about talking back to you and you looked forward to your daily banter with an odd smile. It was strange. You could get any nice, sweet boy in the whole school. But what was the point if they didn't mean it? Shirabu was honest - a trait that should never be given up, even if it offended others. You would rather have someone give you genuine advice - even if it was mostly mean - rather than an empty friendship.
You had majority of the same classes together for the second year in a row. And you were the only person who would had the immediate desire to sit next to Shirabu as a partner. You silently viewed him as a friend, but there was always this barrier that you could never get over for your friendship to deepen. His time was always dedicated to volleyball. And you did not play any sports anymore.
You watched the volleyball team's crushing defeat to Karasuno and the heartbreak it caused to so many people, Shirabu included. The women's team was resorted to tears and you could not even look at the men for too long. Reon and Semi were so sweet and you wished you could protect them for all the bad in the world. You had never seen Shirabu cry before.
Shirabu... He seemed to only display emotion around his team. And this made sense since those were the people that he was closest too. The rare occasion you had seen his smile was when you had watched a game. They had an overwhelming victory against Johzenji High and you spotted the small grin on Shirabu after he scored the winning point. Your heart could barely take it. You only wished that he showed that side more to you...
He was friendly, but distant enough for you to want more. Shirabu was not cold to you and his harsh chitchat did not hold any true malice behind his words. But he never opened up to you. You wanted to learn more about him personally and if you wanted to, you would have to pry and almost force him to speak. He would give curt answers and then be done with the conversation. But, on more than one occasion, you would spot him typing away on his phone. It was no secret that the boys’ and girls’ volleyball team were fairly close and had a groupchat shared amongst them. You silently wondered if he was texting a girl from the team.
That thought had you instantly deflated and made you wondering if you ever had a chance with Shirabu. You were not one to be easily defeated, but with every brief conversation and blank expression he gave you, you considered giving up altogether. This happened around Valentine’s Day of your first-year. Shirabu was abnormally delighted and even smiled in the classroom at someone’s joke. You figured that sure, it was the day of love and he probably had something lined up for himself and his significant other – that was why he was so happy. And it hurt your heart. He smiled, but it was never because of you.
From there forward, you tended to avoid him to evade the imminent heartache every time you saw him. This was hard since you literally sat next to each other in most classes, but something entirely doable. You would leave the classroom immediately after class, show up right before it started, and not initiate conversation. It was always you that had previously opened up discussion, so when you had stopped there was little to none at all.
Shirabu caught up to your change and silently questioned it. On multiple occasions, you would catch him observing you from the corner of your eye and you silently hoped he would not question you outloud. Within a week, he was ready to corner you.
You were at your locker right after class, ready to pack-up and head over to photography club. He was silently bounding towards you and when you closed the locker he was standing right-there before your eyes.
“Did I do something to offend you?” He asked the moment your locker closed.
“No…” You stated haphazardly, clutching your backpack.
“You’re never his quiet or shy.” He noted, “Did something else happen?”
“I have to get to photography club…” Shirabu put his arm on the locker and blocked your exit. He was tall and there was no way you could out-run him, you were trapped.
“Don’t lie. We know it starts in twenty-minutes. You might be on the executive board, but you have a lot of time.” He sighed out, locking to the ceiling and then back to you. “Why are you ignoring me?”
“… Am I your friend, Shirabu?”
“Of course.” He did not hesitate to answer. “And it’s Kenjirō.”
“What?”
“Call me by my first name.”
“Oh.” You paused and let the name roll of your tongue, “Then you should call me by my first name too, Kenjirō-kun.” His eyes widened at the added suffix and a rosy dust covered his cheeks.
“Was that it?” He asked, “Come on, (F/N). That’s an immature reason to ignore me.”
“How was I supposed to know?” You questioned, “It never seems like you actually want to talk to me.”
“I’m talking to you now.”
“Outside of this!” You were beyond frustrated, “Ugh I’m fine now go away.” You lightly pushed his arm, but he did not budge.
“As if that would convince me.”
“You are so annoying.” You commented, “You never initiated conversation. I thought I was just bothering you.”
His gaze on you softened and you could not break the eye-contact, “You’re an idiot.” He teased and then ruffled your hair. That was the first time he had ever done physical-contact with you and you almost exploded then and there.
“I’m an idiot?” You repeated before walking away mid-sentence, “I’m hoping you treat your girlfriend better.”
He paused and let us hand drop down to grab your elbow before you go away. “Girlfriend? Where did this come up?”
“I thought…” Shit, you let that thought slip out-loud, “The men and women volleyball teams are close. And I’ve only ever seen you hang-out outside of class with them and those girls. I just assume...”
“You assumed wrong.” He quickly cut-off, “Ugh. What am I going to do with you?” He asked as he grabbed you into a hug. You returned the affection and you knew that a blush must have stained your face! And what was that question?
Shirabu continued, “So was that the real problem? You were jealous of my supposed ‘girlfriend?’” He laughed at his question and you were going to die from his smile. God it was so rare and you wished he graced you with it more!
“No! Don’t get too ahead of yourself!” You yelled back, but it was muffled against his chest. He leaned back to see your face and teased you for your embarrassed expression.
“You’re an idiot.” He laughed again.
Since then, your friendship with Kenjirō was gradually improving. But it seemed that there was this silent barrier that you could not overcome. You could talk about your problems, but not about his. And since then, he had not initiated any physical contact. If you ever brushed hands or simply leaned against him, he should shift away and pretend it never happened! Did you really make any progress?
Finals were coming up and that was giving you one last chance to spend time with Shirabu before the end of the schoolyear. Sure, you could always ask your father and he had the power to put you two in the same class again next year - But! Did you want to waste your last year together pinning after him?
Your study group was comprised of yourself, Shirabu, Kawanishi, and two people from his class. Kawanishi was in Class 5, which was also advanced, but he was so damn lazy! You saw his potential and only wished that he tried harder and quit fucking around.
The three other members of the group were missing that night and the two of you were left alone to grovel over English. Your English was better than Shirabu’s but the opposite could be said about history. You paired each other well and aided the other's faults.
You commented on this once jokingly, saying, "You complete me!" He simply rolled his eyes and brushed it off before continuing to study.
Damn. This boy cannot take a hint.
You attempted to show the boy your advances. But it seemed Shirabu would shut you down at every try, almost like he knew what you were doing and was firmly against it. A part of you considered backing down. He had made his intentions clear for two straight-years, maybe you should not waste another year on someone who obviously does not want your attention?
That thought last for a second before you waved it off. There was no one else you were even remotely interested in. If he said no, that’s fine. But you were probably not going to peruse anyone else.
Both you and Shirabu were spacing out from over-reading the textbook and happened to make eye contact. "What's on your mind?" You asked.
"Things you cannot understand."
"You really think that low of me?"
"No. I'm going to be the captain of the volleyball team in a few weeks."
"Wow."
"There's no way your pampered ass would get it."
"You think about my ass?" You teased, but he pretended to ignore the question. You spent enough time with him to notice the minute narrowing of his eyes and the slight curve in the corner of his left lip.
Damn, this boy had you bad.
"I'm sure you'll do fine, Kenjirō." You comforted, "You're very smart and reliable. I believe that your training won't betray you."
"Reliable..." He murmured. "That's exactly what I'm talking about."
"What do you mean?"
He scoffed at your question, "Exactly. You won't understand."
"Then explain it to me!" You exclaimed.
"Why should I?" He seemed just as inflamed.
"Because I care about you! You big, dumb, idiot!"
Shirabu paused before fully looking at you, surprise evident. "Well, everyone expects this idiot to be reliable and lead the team. But..."
"But...?"
"That's all that people expect from me. To be the smart one. To live to everyone's expectations and shoulder the border of living up to the name ''powerhouse.'" He was getting more agitated and louder with each word.
"Woah, calm down."
"I can't calm down! In a few weeks, I'll lose the ace that I've admired for years and majority of our regular team! How am I supposed to fill in their shoes when we're losing one of the top 3 spikers in the country?"
You had no shame in grabbing his chin and turning his full attention to you. "Listen here you idiot. Don't interrupt me! I said don't! I stopped sports, but I know this is something entirely inevitable. Your senpai's are moving onto the next phase of their lives, but it's not something you can stop or change. You have to accept the future and make the most out of it and I know you will. Shiratorizawa is not the only school with graduation. Your rivals and others will lose their precious third-years and its then will you be able to analyze them and attack. But you need to calm the fuck down."
Shirabu was hanging onto every word. Nodding at some parts and fully taking in what you were trying to convey. At the end of your speech, he pushed your hands away from his face with a slight rosy dust on his cheeks. No woman, outside of his mother, had ever done that to him before.
"You're a real pain, (F/N)." he started, "But thanks. I needed that."
"No problem, I just want you to know that I can be here for you." You extended your hand to cover his own on the desk.
His eyes latched onto your hand before he averted his gaze and attempted to pull his hand away. You kept a tight enough grip to keep it in place, but not enough to hurt. "Must you touch me so much?"
"You are such a tsundere, oh my god." You commented, "Of course, I had to like you."
He stilled and looked directly into your eyes, as if that would confirm your previous statement. "Are you really that surprised?" You asked. "You're really handsome and you have the type of personality that I find most attractive."
"Tsundere?" He joked.
"No. You're honest." You admitted, "You're not like the rest of them, who only see dollar signs when they see me. You've roasted my ass multiple times in class and I wouldn't have it any other way. You say the truth and don't sugar-coat your words for anyone."
"I like you." You simply stated. You watched the words seem to finally reach something in his mind and at this point he seemed to panic. He pulled his hand away and you did not hide your outward hurt. Shirabu made a lame excuse and quickly packed up his stuff to leave.
You never felt more sad and alone.
XXXXX
Shirabu was freaking the fuck out. He wanted someone to notice him and it had to be you??? You were beautiful and nearly perfect in every way. Your beauty went beyond the physical level and you were blessed with intelligence and an even greater family tree.
None of this mattered to him before. You were his friend and classmate and probably the one person in class who did not endlessly irritate him. How could you possibly have feelings for him? He didn't deserve you, not a bit. He had an endless list of faults, including his knowingly sarcastic personality, and you were the friendliest person in school! No way. You could be happier with literally anyone else.
He could not deny all your positive traits, even though he made an effort to ridicule you. You were an overall amazing person and he could not deny his latent crush on you. But he had squashed it since your friendship was mostly comprised of friendly banter. You could never have feelings for him, he previously thought. So he would rather treasure your friendship and watch you from the sideline.
However, Shirabu had to admit that it was a dick move of him just to leave you there after your confession. He was usually the type to speak his mind and your feelings must have blinded his brain. He set-out to clear the air and admit why.
In class the next day, you were nowhere to be found and refused to respond to calls and texts. Seeing you so affected, Shirabu could not help but feel like a huge ass. He owed you big-time, but he had to start somewhere: an apology. Shirabu had to clear the air and make it known that he appreciated your affections, even if he had to deny them. He was not above annoying you and did such continually.
Knocking on your dorm room, he showed up right at your front door.
Shirabu heard movement inside, but not closer to the door. He called your phone again and heard the ringtone go off from within, just for you to mute it. He knocked about eleven more times before you opened the door.
"What do you want?!" You asked as you swung the door open with full force.
"To clear the misunderstanding, (F/N)."
"God, you are so annoying. Did you know that?"
"You are too. Now hear me out, you crazy."
"Excuse me?!"
"Please." You sighed and moved aside for him to enter and he did such. He uncharacteristically took your hand and guided you to sit-down on your bed.
He paused, as if to fully think about his words, before sitting next to you. "You need someone who has time for you."
"What?"
"I'll be the captain soon and I do not want to disappoint anyone. I'll be busy and unable to be the proper boyfriend."
"Is that your only complaint to this relationship?"
"No."
"What else?"
"You deserve someone who can make you happy."
You gave a small laughed and asked, "Who says you don't already make me happy?"
He stared at your for a moment before asking, "What?"
"I don't want someone who you think will make me happier with kind words or bullshit. I want someone honest." You candidly admitted, "And we are friends already. I know you're dedicated to volleyball and I don't want that to change. I already know how you are and that’s why I like you more than anyone else. You alone can make me happy. For someone smart, why is this so hard for you to understand?"
He sputtered, unable to give a cohesive reply and for once you saw be great Shirabu struggle over his usually articulate words.
"Wait." You realized that he had multiple complaints about this relationship before you interrupted him. "Just be straight with me. Do you have feelings for me?"
It was at this moment that Shirabu had the clearest view of you. You were in the closest proximity than ever before, sharing a seat on your bed! He could gaze clearly into your eyes and sense the distress and vulnerability from your previous words. He stretched the silence and you took that as a rejection. He immediately rectified the situation by grabbing your hand and placing a light kiss at the top.
"I never thought you were interested in me." He admitted, "I thought I was deep in the friend zone. So I would have rather kept your friendship than risked ruining it."
"You're an idiot." You smiled grabbing his wrist to pull him closer. He obliged and allowed you to place a light kiss on his cheek.
"Now will you be my boyfriend or will I have to convince you?" You whispered in his ear to tease him and could literally see the shiver go down his back as he stiffened.
When you pulled away, his eyes were half-lidded and you silently wondered if his dominant attitude translated romantically.
You didn't have to wonder long since he returned the favor and went even further, nibbling your ear lightly before placing butterfly kisses around your neck. "Maybe you'll have to convince me."
You laughed before wrapping your arms around his neck, quickly taking command and enveloping his lips against your's. However, you did not have it for long and the setter was quick to flip the positions and hover over you. He gave one his rare smiles and you felt one breaking out across you'rs, stretching from ear to ear. Shirabu, who was in no rush, descended back down to your silky lips - noses bumping and hands fisting into each other's hair. His grip was firm, but not tight enough to hurt. You moaned, unintentionally, and he took that as an invitation to lick the entrance to your cavern. You parted your lips quickly, eager to feel his tongue against yours. The rest of the day went by ignored, the two of you enveloped in each other's affection with not a single care in the world.

Hi there! How would the twst boys react to their s/o being slapped by Eliza 😂. Thanks for feeding us the wonderful headcanons! 💜
I love writing for such brilliant ideas , enjoy !
Tumblr media
Riddle Rosehearts
Riddle goes blank for a second , unsure what to say or how to react : Half of him wanted to act in and condemn ghosts for their arrogance to lay a hand on you but on the other hand , he knew that he didn't have the right to ; It was their brides choice and she did have the right to do it - which wasn't really pleasant -
You give him a sad look , expecting a show of mercy of sympathy , but he didn't move an eyebrow
You run to a silent corner to cry , and he comes after you . Riddle gives you a hug and apologizes that he couldn't help anything back then
He criticizes your movements as well , how you didn't present yourself properly and why Eliza could've changed her mind
But in the end ; he gives you a small reminder : " Perfect or not , know that you're enough for me ,"
Trey Clover
He got slapped himself so he understands how the world flashed before your eyes for a second
You look a bit down about failing so easily while you were trying to help ; but so did Trey . You get each other on that point
He barely notices it but he literally doesn't know how to flirt , but he tries his best to cheer you up "Ah don't give me that face ! At least you were waaay better than me,"
Well , maybe you weren't such an overly perfect being but neither was Trey , he was just an ordinary guy you'll get to see everyday ; not a stunning prince . It seems like the two of you come from a rather similar level
Perhaps that's why the two of you get along pretty well
Cater Diamond
You didn't expect him to even put his phone down for you but he eventually did ; you find it pretty odd to see him this eager about anything without wanting to share it via Internet , but it also means that he does care for you
He doesn't bother touching your cheek and asking if it hurts
He plants a small kiss on your blushing face and then goes salty again : " So glad that she didn't get you , means you're still all mine ! "
He brings up his phone and before you could've recognized , takes a selfie of him kissing an all shocked you . You beg him to delete it but he isn't listening , but he insures you that this one's a private issue so he won't post it ; perhaps the first selfie he isn't going to share anywhere
Ace Trappola
Trey and Riddle grab his body and mouth before he could do something stupid , how dare she , how dare she slaps you !?
Ace ws already tired of this drama with the hopelessly romantic bride , and you were the final shock .
" SHE IS A HUNDRED TIMES BETTER THAN Y-" Ace tries to shout at Eliza but Riddle grabs him by collar and puts a hand on his mouth : "YOU IDIOT WHAT ARE YOU..."
You come to calm him down , insisting that it's really nothing important , you didn't care . He still seems to be really pissed off at Eliza : " Huh , does she really think that she's any big deal ? My- girls are really crappy sometimes ,-"
Ace refuses to believe that you don't feel any offended so he pulls you to his embrace and keeps on sending you positive vibes non-stop : " You're gorgeous (y/n)! I mean it ! You're smart , talented , dignified ..."
Deuce Spade
He is low-key happy that you two join him at the losers bench . At least you won't now see him as the awkward loser he was in front of Eliza ; not too much to say
"So you too got slapped ?" he tells you he has no idea how to start the conversation
He knows that he is supposed to do something better but he is just blank about it
One half of him wants to hug you and tell that it's fine , then ask if you think he's awkward or something . But the other half just doesn't know what to say
He says that you two must learn some social skills together , that's the most he can do to flirt now : He soft boy
Tumblr media
Leona Kingscholar
He actually doesn't mind insulting you a little for getting slapped . He's pissed off himself so he appreciates teasing you
From putting on a cocky smile and smirking to playing with you using sarcastic words
His very last sarcasm seems to be the worst : " I can say that you are way lower than royal standards ,"
But he puts a different end to his words : "...But since I as well got rejected , I guess we're now rejected mates ,"
Is it his sarcastic way of saying a small "I love you" ? Yes it is
Ruggie Bucchi
He didn't bother to come and try proposing , but wasn't expecting for you to try either . He lets out one of his Hyena-like giggles and comes to you
" Was that bride this savage ? Then I'm thankful that I didn't show up ! " he sneakers
He disappears for a second and comes back with an ice-pack : " Geez , it's my third time doing it today . Come over ," he tells you
He already did it for Leona and Jack because he was told to , but he is all ready to give you all those services and more to you
He does enjoy teasing you , but nursing you in situations like this is another hubby of him , after all you're an exception
Jack Howl
He kinda feels guilty about you getting slapped ; he shouldn't have let you tried it anyway . The possibility of you making it was low and you weren't a NRC student anyway
He knows that everyone else were the same but when it was you who got slapped right in front of everyone , he fears it being an issue
He quickly checks on you to see if you're fine and or need a doctor
He is a bit worried about your face swelling so he takes you school's nurse
On your way back , you thank him because of caring for you and he starts to blush and denies it all : " What do you mean ? It was nothing important . No need to thank ,"
Tumblr media
Azul Ashengrotto
Azul grabs your hand , wishes Idia a happy marriage and the two of you leave the rest in the middle of chaos
He nags under the lips , telling how he wished others to let him turn her into a little clam
He telles you what an unfortunate soul Eliza is , not only did she die on her marriage day but she also lost perfect lover such as you
He doesn't care about the rest now , so he decides to leave them on their own and instead , have some free time with you
While you wear having some tea at mostrolounge , he shakes head and insults Eliza : " You are surely too much for her , my dear (y/n) . Ghosts always envy humans ; specially when it comes to someone as great as you ~"
Jade Leech
Eliza is now pretty odd to him , first she dislikes the flowers , and now , she rejects you ? Ghosts seem to be even weirder than surface creatures , he thinks
He understands the high standards required while choosing a partner , but you don't seem to lack anything ? How strange
He even cares to ask Eliza about what she might have disliked about you since you don't seem to have any problems , but he avoids it anyway because he isn't ready to get secondly slapped
He offers you a short walk with a bright smile , and you accept
" Miss Eliza surely has weird standards , (y/n) sweetie . You were perfect enough to win ,"
Too bad Crowley insists on them respecting their ghost visitors as long as the stay , Jade is really encouraged to give them a lesson . But uh , he has to have a hold of himself as Octavinelle's vice dorm leader
" Too bad she is dead , flowers would have had an interesting effect if she weren't ," he sighs
Floyd Leech
This bride is getting on his nerves , loud , dumb , in love with a blue , awkward chicken and finds silly excuses to reject everyone proposing to her. If she weren't dead , Floyd would wish her to be . Some brats are better dead
He doesn't see any need to spoil you , but he decides to spill somevtea since it was you " Don't worry shrimpy . You may not be perfect , but she's worse than you , " he flirts .He gives you a tight hug and squeezes you , rambling that it's because Eliza didn't let him do that
He actually finds the red mark on your face cute , saying that it makes your skin color just similar to a shrimp .
He can't help loving your -shrimp-like face - and so , he lowers his head and gives it a small kiss
Tumblr media
Vil Schoenheit
If Eliza were alive , Vil would love it now to burn her alive in a huge dig of poison . Or maybe feed him to the dogs , both seem nice
He gently holds your face within his hands and carefully looks at the mark Eliza left behind
He curses under the lips and then pulls you into a soft hug : " Don't mind her love , lowly creatures are unworthy of true beauty , don't let their though bring you down," he mumbles
He absolutely hates being disrespected like this , so he leaves it to Rook and Epel ; though he doubts them being any helpful
He takes you to Pomefiore for firstly , making sure that your slapped face won't swell and then , giving you a full day spa . From extreme showers to putting on your makeup
When you're done , he stares at you through the mirror and smiles : " What an idiot she was to lose this stunning beauty of yours ,"
Rook Hunt
This bride keeps fascinating him , first Vil and now you ? Good god , she is pathetic
Rook really looks up to both of you as a symbol of beauty , grace and in general , perfection . Seeing the two of you being insulted like this is a real pitty
He is being relied on as one of the only four guys who didn't get slapped so he sadly doesn't have much time to comfort you now ; so he comes up with a new idea :
He asks you to give him the pleasure and be his : Bride model ; he has got plenty of tricks up his sleeve , but he still needs to practice them on someone
His long and beautiful poem which was hiding an I love you within its words , and his brilliance ways of winning one's heart leave you speechless ; not ever imagining that he might be this much of a romance man
He practices literally anything he was planning to do with you , and then comes up with the final words : " Dearest (y/n) , would you give me the honor of being your servant of love for eternity ? "
Epel Felmier
You got...what ? Epel was a normal guy at least in his own opinion , Vil senpai was surely beautiful but...not perfect either . But why you ? You didn't seem to have any specific problems . He doesn't like this thing with proposing anyways , so he was hoping someone , specially you , to succeed before he has to...
He is supposed to be practicing dos and don'ts of being a perfect groom , but he just can't do it without checking on you
He comes to you and gives you a tight hug , asking if you're alright
He confesses that he as well is now really scared since he has never even kissed a girl before , but he's going to try his best and put an end into this
He isn't the best of his own , but if a prince on a white horse is what this Ghost needed , he is going to make it , and prove it to you that he can
Tumblr media
Kalim al asim
He doesn't know what is going on when you face him with your half red face , he gasps and worriedly starts asking questions : was there a fight ? Did you get hurt ? Was someone trying to bully you ? Who on earth had dared to do this to you !?
You explain the whole issue with he ghost bride and how almost everyone got slapped , making him calm down a bit
He now wants to have a word with this bride , it's rude to slap people just because you don't like them and that really bugs Kalim
Jamil stops him by reminding that it's none of Scarabia's business and as the dorm leader , he has to stay here taking care of more important stuff
Kalim has to agree but he isn't quite satisfied , but he comes up with another way to cheer you up :
" Imagine you're the bride and I'm proposing to you , let's see if I get slapped or not ! "
Jamil Viper
Just as Kalim , he can't imagine why you got slapped for at first but when you explain , he chills a bit
Most of the brides Jamil know gave in to marriage after being given tons of gold and jewelry , but since it is with a ghost , he wondered what might actually attract her. Princesses have to marry people from the same level as themselves , probably a prince or someone pretty rich ; so he isn't really fascinated that you and others all got slapped
He can't help it much , but perhaps insulting all other guys losing their chance is something he would appreciate talking about . It isn't clear if he wants you to feel better by neglecting every other guy or is just trying to chill a bit ; anyways it's joyful for you to talk and having him spending some time with you alone
Tumblr media
Idia Shroud
Idia is locked inside the room ,, but he hears sound of you trying to propose to Eliza . His feeling are a bit complicated , both hopeful that Eliza would give up on him because of you and jealous of Eliza , whom you proposed to. No one's here to see him can freely admire your beautiful words coming one after one , and then an unexpected sound : You got slapped
Idia now has lost both his very last hope to get freed and his temper : His hair is slightly turning read . This crazy bride made him lose the global championship league of his favorite video game (since he was tied up by her ) and now slaps you !?
His thoughts are really wild now , especially because of how he can't do anything at all . He wishes he could see you and tell how beautiful and great he thinks your proposal was , hopeful that it'll make you smile
You still went out of his way and tried to free him , and that was more than enough for Idia . All he wishes is to see one more time and get to tell how he feels for you♥
Ortho Shroud
This ghost : Kidnapped his brother and now , slaps you
Who says robots can't feel anything ? Because now , Ortho is mad
He really does want to hack all of NRC's servers and share pictures of ghosts who dare kidnapping and insulting students without the principal doing anything . That'd be an end to Mr Crowley's career but since he isn't doing anything serious , he deserves it
You apologize him because of failing to save his brother , but he just gives you a hug telling how scared he is
You and Idia are the most important people in his life , he just can't stand having you hurt . Not even imagining what he might do if he loses any of you
Tumblr media
Malleus Draconia
He wasn't there to recognize this any sooner , but Lilia and Sebek did tell him everything .He shouldn't show up in front of any other students (because they might spoil his real name ) and shouldn't show up in front of any ghosts (because they may catch him and force him to propose ). He was thinking of meeting you in front of ramshackle drom ; your regular corner but since there as well is haunted by the ghosts , he can't help but to wait for this drama to cool down
When you finally return to Ramshackle dorm in the middle of the night , your unexpected guest , tsuno-tarou , is waiting for you
You are suspicious that you didn't see him at all today , so he explains that due to some reasons he couldn't make it . He says hat he doesn't really know what had happened since he stayed in dorm all day , so you go on telling everything from the very beginning . He already knows everything but wants to hear it all from you one more time . He likes to see what they all might've looked like into your eyes . When you're done telling him the story , he giggles and asks one more question ; just curious to see how you'll answer : " So didn't you try proposing , or did you as well get slapped...?"
Lilia Vanrouge
This day was getting more and more complicated... First getting rejected for being too cute and having his 500+ year reputation ruined like this and now , you being the second to get slapped ; this isn't fair
He can help but to let his tears fall , if he's too cute then it's fine for him to cry . Sebek and you freak out in fear of him being through some sort of serious pain or injury , then he just laughs and tells you that he's alright . He just needed to comfort himself but freeing those tears
He doesn't see any need of today getting worse , so he doesn't mind flirting a bit . He jokes on whatever you rejected for not being more frustrating than being too cute and laughs
He thinks that you may like to talk more , so he brings up a more interesting issue : His hundred years experience with women
You are fascinated at how many times he has joined ladies for dances or drinking , yet has never been on a serious relationship
He's actually trying to spill more tea of his low experiements with relationships , hopeful that you get his point
Silver
You return along with Lilia and Sebek. , all of having half of your face red . Silver wasn't there to know what was going on or why Sebek is shouting at him for being a coward not trying to propose like a real man . Poor boy is just blank
Lilia takes Sebek along with him and leaves the two of you alone , so you start telling everything over . He tries his best to hide his laugh at the point where Sebek got slapped but he failed , then Lilia and finally , you
You tell him that you really feel frustrated about failing others and not being good enough , but it makes Silver gently laugh : " Well , from Leona Senpai to Mr . Vil , they all got slapped one by one , doesn't it sound a bit weird ? "
You surely don't get hos point so he continues : " When someone keeps rejecting everyone one by one , it means that they don't really know what they want. They're seeking perfection ; but no one's ever perfect enough for them . Through lovers would still love each other aside lacking too much on their own , and that's what makes their love last : They complete each other "
His words really move you and make you ask how he can tell all these words so beautifully
He gives you small smile and adds : " Well , it's because I've experienced it all with you "
Sebek Zigvolt
Having both master Malleus and you insulted on the same day : This is too much !
You shouldn't have been the one forced propose while others like Silver were laying comfortably on a sofa dreaming of rainforests and colorful birds , it wasn't your right !
He doesn't even ask , he immediately takes you to the nurse office to put a stick on your slapped face . You insist that it's be too much but he isn't listening
He then , apologizes for about an hour for not talking you out of something that wasn't even your duty and promises that there won't be a next time on it
You really get concerned at how stressed out this boy suddenly gets over nothing , so you cut him off by pulling yourself to his embrace and giving him a hug . He freezes at first , but then relaxes and hugs back
" Promise that I'll never let you down (y/n) , never"

hb a scenario where reader and tobio are best friends and they are practice kissing and it leads to a make out session 👀 and he’s actually a really good kisser so it throws her off guard
practicing kissing with kageyama
nonnie, this shit is GAS
also my plot was like ,,,, also making this kags first kiss so i hope that’s ok !
update! ok pt.2 is : here
“and hinata always talks about how i’m not popular with girls! he can sometimes barely talk to shimizu senpai… and we’re with her everyday!”, kageyama yelled. you laughed at his complaints. kageyama was going off on another tangent about hinata while you helped him with his homework in his room. “i meannnn, he does have a point,” you added. kageyama gasped, probably because you agreed with someone he had just complained about. “that’s not true. i have you,” he reasoned. you rolled your eyes at him. “that’s not the same, tobio! we’re best friends; we already had a relationship established. just say you’re pressed and go,” you argued. kageyama lightly threw his notebook at you to retaliate.
“have you ever even kissed a girl, tobio?” he folded his arms and nodded. “WHAT???”, you shouted. “in first grade. she came up to me and kissed me. and i ran away crying,” he said. you stared at him blankly for a few seconds before bursting out with laughter. “AHAHAHAHAH!!! YOU’RE JOKING!”, you wheezed, trying to catch your breath. “i meant an actual kiss, idiot.” kageyama narrowed his eyes at you but relaxed them again. “never… why? how many people have you kissed?”, he asked. “i dunno…three? four?”, you answered. he seemed a little shocked but hummed as a response nonetheless.
kageyama soon spoke up again, “were you nervous? like… have you ever wondered if you’d be bad at it or not?” you thought about his questions for a moment. “not really… although i do regret my first kiss. i was super nervous for that one, so it was probably a bad kiss,” you answered honestly. “why?”, you asked. “i would probably be nervous for my first…” you pushed yourself back to lay on his bed. “maybe we should practice then,” you suggested sarcastically. “really??”, kageyama asked. you immediately sat up again. “woah, i was just-“ kageyama cut you off, “i can practice with you so that i won’t be nervous for my first real kiss.” you stared at him in disbelief. you started laughing but stopped when you realized he was being completely serious. “i-i guess?”, you said.
you and kageyama had cleared all the notebooks and textbooks off of his bed and sat next to each other. “well… um. from personal experience, i usually just start kissing someone normally. like this…” you leaned in and gave kageyama a short kiss. you pulled away and noticed that he was slightly blushing. “obviously it’s more than one, though.” you leaned in again, except this time, kageyama started puckering his lips to kiss you back. his lips were surprisingly soft… and he wasn’t rushing anything. you two kissed like that for only a little while longer, then you pulled away. if you were being honest, you were kind of flustered. you were expecting him to mess up or something. “then…then uh, either myself or the person i’m with will start using tongue… i’ll initiate it since this is just practice for you, but you should also learn how to do it yourself.” kageyama stared at your lips in anticipation.
you leaned in again. when your lips were against his, you slowly sneaked your tongue out to lick his lips. you don’t think kageyama realized what you were trying to do, so you kind of opened his mouth yourself by pushing your tongue through his lips. you felt his breath hitch as you did it. he gracefully moved his own tongue against yours. damn, he wasn’t so bad at this… you automatically placed your hand on his thigh and felt him tense underneath you. for some reason, it made you excited. you slid your hand up a little and squeezed, causing his breath to hitch again. you felt yourself grow hot so you decided to pull away. however, your face stayed only a couple of inches away from his.
kageyama’s face was flushed with a beautiful shade of his pink and you noticed that his eyes seemed darker than when you two first started. you thought you guys were done, but kageyama leaned in… to the point where your noses were barely brushing up against each other. he titled his head and shoved his tongue in your mouth. it caught you off guard so you gasped, allowing kageyama to give you an open mouth kissed. he reached one hand over you and placed it on your waist. he squeezed your hip and pulled you onto his lap.
as you moved on top of him, kageyama sucked on your tongue. you weren’t sure if it was an accident or on purpose, but damn did it turn you on. you could feel that kageyama was hard under you and you subconsciously grinded on him. you accidentally let out a moan and froze. kageyama looked into your eyes and let out a deep breath before pushing down on your hips, kissing you again. his kisses grew rougher, but you couldn’t complain… he was really good.
your tongues continued moving against each other, but only for a couple more seconds… because you ended up getting a phone call. you jumped off of kageyama’s lap and answered. “-yup, okay! got it.” you hung up the phone and turned back to look at kageyama. “it was my mom. i have to pick some things up at the store… and she wants me to be home soon,” you said. kageyama cleared his throat, “oh uh, yea. okay.” you started packing up your things to try to avoid him but you could still see him awkwardly stand up and fix his pants in the corner of your eye.
you two stood near his bedroom door since you were just about ready to leave. “y/n… thanks for uh, helping.. me today.” he seemed unsure by his “gratitude.” you bit your lip out of embarrassment, “no problemmm.” both you and kageyama awkwardly stared at each other for what was probably too long. “well, bye!”, you blurted, quickly opening his door. “yeah! see you tomorrow!”, he babbled.
this fr has potential for a pt.2 but idk,, it can go SO many ways … if u guys have ideas lmk😌😌

Past, Present, Future
Starring: Yuuji Itadori, Nobara Kugisaki, Megumi Fushiguro, Satoru Gojo, Reader, Sukuna
Pairing: Satoru Gojo/Reader
Warnings: Cheating is mentioned, Satoru might be ooc
A/N: I don’t condone cheating. I wanted this fic to be light and fun but it turned out a bit differently. I hope you enjoy it anyway! Also, in this fanfic, Satoru was an a** when he was younger.
It was not their fault they thought their sensei was single. While beautiful, Gojo was so immature that it was hard to imagine him with someone. This person deserves a trophy for being able to put up with the ball of energy and immaturity that was Gojo Satoru. Besides,...after the Kyoto Goodwill event, they heard some...ahem...interesting rumours concerning the white head. Apparently, their beloved idiotic sensei cannot settle down. There were so many rumours surrounding the strongest; some were hard to believe because of their level of ridiculousness, others were not so hard to believe because...well...it is Gojo Satoru. He could make anything possible. One of them, while ridiculous, seems highly probable. It was Utahime-sensei who told them about it when they pestered her about Gojo-sensei in his adolescent years. They wanted to be able to relate to him a little bit more. What they heard though, left their mind reeling with questions.
"Gojo-sensei dated more than twenty girls in a month?!"
That sounded so ridiculous, cruel, and impossible. However, Utahime was not one to lie or slander one's reputation like that. Even if it was someone as annoying as Gojo. After that, they were unable to picture their sensei as the type to settle down. It was just impossible. Even if that little anecdote was years ago, as Megumi specified to his friends. It was possible that Gojo changed and was not the same man anymore. But the other two’s minds were set on the fact that their sensei is a player. Or a serial-dater. Although, they have yet to catch him in the act. As of right now, they haven’t seen Gojo with anyone. Maybe Utahime did exaggerate his reputation a little after all. But their curiosity was already set. They wanted to catch their sensei in the act. So, they decided to trail their sensei when the latter was seen heading out in casual clothing and his horrible out-of-style glasses. Kugisaki sighed in despair when seeing the infamous pair of glasses on his face. She was persuaded that he couldn’t be heading out on a date with this offending accessory.
Low and behold, they were able to trail Satoru without getting busted yet. Their training with the second-year students must have paid off! Or so the three ‘spies’ thought. Truthfully, Satoru noticed them a while ago. Actually, it was as soon as they left the school. But he thought their little game was amusing so he let it go on. After all, it wasn’t like he was trying to hide where he was going. If he was, he would have teleported to the alley near the cafe he loves to go to. Just thinking about the cafe and the sweets which they sell makes him salivate. He couldn’t wait to go and try out the new Friday special. So, with a new spring in his step, completely forgetting about his poor students who didn’t have long legs like his, he practically jogs to his favourite cafe, the new sweets calling for him. The three students curse as they are forced to practically run to catch up with their excited sensei. In their mind, Gojo was late as usual, and to not make his date angry, he was hurrying to their meeting place. An angry woman is scary. The proof of that statement lies in Kugisaki and Maki-senpai. Both were scary when angered.
The little cafe was quiet. There were not many people dining in. In fact, it was a perfect place to have a date in, Yuuji noted. Particularly if you don’t want to get caught dating multiple girls at the same time. Luckily for the three of them, the windows were see-through. They could easily see inside as their sensei plops down on one of the comfortable seats. Immediately, a waitress comes and takes his order. Yuuji and Nobara squint as they try to somehow decipher the exchange between the waitress and Gojo.
‘‘Do you know what they are saying?’’
‘‘Of course not you idiot! They are too far.’’
The only proof of Gojo being on a date will have to be to see someone sit across Gojo then. The three of them desolate over that fact. Knowing their sensei, it could take forever before they realise he is, in the end, not on a date.
‘‘I don’t think he is on a date.’’
Nobara and Yuuji look at Fushiguro with question marks on their head. The latter sigh, before pointing at their sensei.
‘‘If he was on a date, I think the date would have been waiting for a while now. No matter the circumstances, Gojo-sensei is always late.’’
‘‘Don’t you think he would try to make an exception for a date?’’, Yuuji ponders.
‘‘If he is dating around, I don’t think so. He could care less if he is on time.’’ After that, Nobara and Yuuji fell silent. They were losing their time after all. Sad and looking like kicked puppies at their failed mission, they were ready to head back to the campus when they noticed a young woman watching them with inquisitive eyes.
‘‘Ah, uh, we were...uh’’
Yuuiji was not making any real sense as he tried to explain why they were hiding behind the bushes in the park. He quickly relaxes as she lets out a little laugh. ‘‘I see. So you are these guys then.’’ Before they could question her on what they mean, she continued. ‘‘Do you want to come to the little cafe? It’s on me.’’
That offer sounded suspicious but they were jujutsu sorcerers in training. They were sure they could handle a civilian. She doesn’t seem to have any curse energy. And if she was indeed linked to the group of curses after Yuuji, they could always count on their sensei who was currently typing on his phone. The woman’s phone went off at the same moment. Multiple arrays of texts follow each other. They felt sympathy for her phone as it seems to be getting bombarded by numerous texts. All of which she ignores as they follow her to the cafe.
The inside of the cafe was as nice as they expected, if not much better. The smell of coffee and sweets was overwhelming but in a good way. Their sensei was seated at the far back of the cafe, meaning if they were noticed, they were screwed. They couldn’t really find any explanation on why a stranger would invite them in a cafe. One that is coincidentally the same as their sensei. Before they could steer away from the back though, the woman grabbed their shoulders and gently pushed them towards where their teacher was sitting. The latter was frowning at his phone, typing some more before the woman made her presence known.
‘‘I’m here. There’s no need to send me multiple messages again.’’
Rolling her eyes, she pushed the three frozen students in front of him. ‘What is happening,’ is the only thought ringing in their minds as their teacher waved at them, grinning widely.
‘‘Oh? You found my beloved students?’’
‘‘They were hanging around in the bushes. You could have invited them in, instead of just sitting and dreaming about all the cavities you will get.’’
The woman sits in front of their teacher as the three young adolescents sit near her. They didn’t really understand the peculiar situation anymore. ‘Was this woman dating sensei?’ ‘She is far too nice to be dating him.’ ‘Oh no! She must not know about sensei’s reputation!’ These were the thoughts that simultaneously rang in their heads. One thing for sure, they had to warn her. She was nice enough to invite them on their date, they felt that she didn’t deserve the heartbreak. In fact, no woman deserved to be heartbroken by the cruelty of their sensei.
The couple were discussing their respective days while waiting for the sweets Satoru ordered earlier. Both seemed to be on good terms, laughing at each other’s jokes. They were in all, having a good time. Yuuji felt guilty. What if in the end, Gojo-sensei was serious about her? But knowing their sensei, he had so many secrets that they felt they must at least tell her about Gojo’s habits.
‘‘So...Uhm...Miss?’’
‘‘Ah. How rude of me! I didn’t introduce myself, did I? I’m (Y/N). You can just call me that. I don’t mind.’’
Her smile was so sweet that Kugisaki felt it was her duty to kick Gojo if he was indeed playing around.
‘‘How did you two meet? Are you a sorc- oof’’
The kick in the angle was by Megumi. The gloomy boy glared at Yuuji while drinking his drink silently.
‘‘Funny thing is, we actually met when we were in high school. I didn’t go to that fancy school of yours though. I went to an all-girl school. I was in dire need of some sweets when we ran into each other and I spilled his drink. All over myself.’’
She glared at Gojo who only smiled innocently. He was not innocent, however. The students knew why the drink was only spilled on her while he remained spotless.
‘‘And then did you start dating since then?’’
‘‘No. I hated him.’’
That statement did not surprise any of them. Gojo feigned hurt while he clutched onto his shirt.
‘‘How could you hate me?! I am as sweet as a strawberry cake!’’
‘‘Maybe if someone poisoned it. Then yes. You would be the strawberry cake.’’
The students watched them banter back and forth.
‘‘Then...when did you start dating?’’
‘‘Hmm...When did we start dating Satoru?’’
‘‘After I declared my love for you during our third meeting anniversary of course!’’
The students sweat-dropped. That sounds like something Satoru would do.
‘‘But then...what about all the girls Utahime-sensei said you were dating? The twenty girls in a month?’’
Both Megumi and Nobara froze. As soon as the shock from Yuuji’s bluntness faded, they stomped on his feet. He winces at that. Even Sukuna, who didn’t mean to spy on them, but was curious about the annoying sorcerer let out a sigh at the lack of tack of his vessel.
Satoru’s smile seemed frozen on his face. Nobody moved as they waited for the young woman’s reaction. The waitress brought in the sweets at that exact moment but no one dared to dig in the delicious food. Finally,
‘‘Oh, that. Yeah. I knew about it. Although it wasn't really twenty. It was five girls. He thought he was so slick with it too. He dated one of my ex-friends. I’m pretty sure you forgot about her though.’’
‘‘Ah...uh...I can’t remember…’’
Satoru seemed sheepish and awkward. Such a strange and alien sight of their always composed sensei.
‘‘Of course, you wouldn’t. You dated so many people I’m surprised they never found out. I would have slapped you if I was one of them. You got off easy.’’
(Y/N) drinks her coffee as if what she just said was a mere comment on the weather.  Satoru glances at his girlfriend every now and then while Yuuji was feeling awful.
‘‘I am so sorry Gojo-sensei, (Y/n)-san! I shouldn’t have brought it up!’’
The female cocked her head to the side, throwing a slight smile in his way.
‘‘It’s fine Itadori-kun. It’s not like I wanted to date him back then. I told you, didn’t I? I hated him.’’
This time, it was Kugisaki who was curious.
‘‘Then, how did you and sensei date? He dated your friend right?’’
(Y/n) shrugged carelessly, digging into her cake with her fork before thrusting it in Satoru’s face. The man was far too silent for his own good.
‘‘It was into our second years of being frenemies. He was awful as you must have heard. He was a true player back then. But then, mysteriously, he cleaned up his act. He broke up with my friend and seemingly with the other girls too. I didn’t see him hanging around the city with any girls for a good year, nor did he get any calls from any one of them when we hanged out. After all of this, my friend, the one who dated him, came to meet me after class and started shouting at me. Apparently, Satoru was in love with someone for real and after some digging, she came to the conclusion that it was my fault since I knew him as well. For her, I was jealous and tried to seduce him. It was a ridiculous and frivolous idea. Or so I thought. Because a year later that dork comes and tells me he loves me.’’
Yuuji and Megumi were in awe. So, their sensei really did go and date multiple girls at once?
‘‘How were you certain he would never cheat?’’ This time it was Megumi asking the question. Surely, you must have had some reservations about dating such a character.
‘‘I was unsure of it too at first. I rejected him and stopped talking to him. He was persistent and wouldn’t stop. So I agreed to one date, which turned into multiple ones. As of now, I haven’t caught him cheating. But if he does, then I will get sad and leave him. I can’t stand cheaters. What he did is disgusting, but people do change I guess. That is, only if they really want to. A lesson for you kids. Don’t go and date someone who is horrible to you and think you can change them. In the end, only they can change themselves. They are not worth your time if they are stubborn and refuse to see the wrong in their actions.’’
She reaches over to squeeze Satoru’s hand. The latter was still quiet about it all. The silence continued even after the kids’ excused themselves, having been called back to the school by Nanami.
‘‘Aren’t you going to finish your cake? It’s your favourite, you know?’’
‘‘You know I would never cheat on you right? I was young and dumb and an asshole. And while I can’t take it back or apologise enough, I would never cheat on you.’’
(Y/n) only smiled at that. ‘‘I know. You have changed. You are not that guy anymore. You can’t change your past, but you can change your present self. I’m glad I met your students. They are a joyful bunch. When we have children one day, I hope they will be like them.’’
Satoru grinned, slowly reverting back to his old self. ‘‘I don’t know. I was thinking another me would be perfect.’’
‘‘If our child turns out like you, I’ll fear all my hair will turn as white as yours, dear. Now finish your cake. I want to go and check out that pet store you mentioned.’’
‘‘Right away, vanilla bean!’’
‘‘What did I tell you about nicknames Satoru?!’’

One Bed. [Haikyuu!! - Kagehina]
Tumblr media
Kageyama and Hinata realize that they have to share a bed during training camp one weekend.
Word count: 2779
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“WHAAAAAAAA?!”
Hinata and Kageyama cried out in unison the moment they opened the door to their overnight room. Their outburst attracted the attention of their team captain, along with Karasuno’s third year setter.
“What are you two hollering about?” Daichi implored as he passed by, Sugawara following closely at his side. “Is something wrong?”
In truth, nothing was particularly off about their assigned sleeping quarters, except for...
“THERE’S ONLY ONE BED!” The two underclassmen shouted in a chaotic harmonization, pointing their fingers in disbelief at the setup before them.
The third years looked at one another before looking back at their juniors in shared confusion.
“What’s the big deal? Sugawara and I only have one bed in our rooms, too.”
“Wait, what?!” The color drained from Hinata’s face hearing Daichi say something like that so matter-of-factly. He looked over at his now-roommate and saw him donning his typical frown. The aspiring ace paused for a moment, lost in thought as he imagined his team captain and the third year setter snuggling up together as if it were a normal, everyday thing. He wondered if Kageyama and him would end up doing the same...
He felt his cheeks grow warm, but shook it off before anyone else could notice.
“It happens every once in a while,” Sugawara said with a sheepish chuckle as he scratched the back of his head. “Sometimes the training venue is short on rooms, so some of us have to cozy up with someone else. If it’s an issue then one of you can just sleep on the floor.”
“But… but…” Kageyama started to protest, his own mouth agape with shock, but was shut down promptly by his superior.
“It’s only for the weekend,” Daichi cut him off, his displeasure increasing as the conversation went on. “If you can’t manage this, I don’t know how you’ll be able to work together when the tournaments begin. Maybe we made a mistake letting you first years on the team. You said you could work together, so prove it.”
His guilt trip was the final nail in the coffin. Hearing him suggest he regretted his decision, even if it was just a threat, felt like a spear to the heart for both of them. The two boys sighed in resignation as their next complaints faded away into nothing. Daichi and Sugawara walked away, looking over their shoulders
“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Sugawara whispered when they were out of sight. “They’re still getting used to one another. I’m worried they’ll argue themselves to death before our first practice game. Maybe I could switch with one of them?”
“They formulated their fast attack together. I think they can handle sharing a room for two nights,” Daichi replied. Although he spoke with confidence, deep down he was still a bit concerned for his younger classmates.
He silently prayed for them to make it through the first night without killing each other.
~~~~
The sound of rapid, heavy stomps reverberated down the hallway in the late evening, starting from the bathroom and moving past the shared dorms, sending fear through the hearts of the resting Karasuno players.
Nishinoya peeked his head out from behind a door to see what was the cause of the ruckus and almost lost his nose when two determined athletes rushed past him. He watched as they continued blazing their trail, still feeling the afterwind from their movement all the way down the hall. Tanaka opened his own door and barely caught a flash of black and orange hair disappearing around the corner.
“What the hell are they doing?” the bald student asked the libero.
Nishinoya shrugged, just as oblivious to their shenanigans as he was.
In the meantime, Kageyama and Hinata were neck and neck as they raced to their shared room, the latter with a small lead due to his superhuman agility. Their focus was on one thing and one thing only, and neither dared to break their concentration with stakes as high as these. When they reached the door, they pushed and shoved one another until they nudged themselves in the door frame, neither of them able to move an inch.
“I wanna sleep in the bed tonight!” Hinata whined as he tried pushing off Kageyama’s hand, which was pressed into his left cheek.
“Hell no! I called it first!” Kageyama yelled back, grunting after Hinata stepped on his foot.
“Well, I’m older than you, so I have superiority!”
“Well, I’m taller! I need the space!”
Their bickering grew in volume, echoing off the walls and down the quiet hallway until their scuffle was interrupted by a loud, booming voice that shook them to their cores.
“ENOOOOOUGH! Stop arguing and go to sleep already!”
The captain glowered at them from around the corner, putting a stop to the fighting at once. The two younger boys froze up before slapping their hands at their sides and bowing meekly.
“Yes, Daichi-senpai!!”
And that was the end of that. Daichi disappeared once more, and the duo glanced at each other before turning their attention back to the full sized bed. Somehow, it seemed like it was waiting for them.
“Well… maybe we could both… squeeze onto it?” Hinata suggested in a meek, quiet voice. Kageyama moved forward with a dissatisfied expression.
“Whatever. Just stay on your own side.”
“Huh?”
The setter said nothing more. He plopped down on the edge of the bed and sighed in exhaustion before rolling over to face the wall. Hinata watched him curl up into a fetal position, his long legs still almost reaching the edge despite his adjustments, and suddenly felt a little embarrassed. It already looked pretty uncomfortable for the taller boy, and he was sure it’d be even worse for him if he took up the remaining space. Maybe he should’ve just let Kageyama have the bed, after all…
“Uh, Kageyama, I…”
“It’s not a big deal. Just lay down and shut up. I’m tired.”
He realized that was Kageyama’s way to say “it’s okay” without sounding like too much of a sap. With that, Hinata hopped over and flopped down on his side, causing the mattress to shake and Kageyama to bounce a bit as he lay there. There was plenty of room at the end for his legs to stretch out, so it wasn’t too bad all things considered. He realized there was more space than he originally thought at first glance; if he didn’t stretch out his arms too much, he basically had a good chunk of it to himself.
The only problem was not stretching out.
He tried his best to stay still, he really did, but the habit of fidgeting in bed to tire himself out was impossible to break in a single night. An hour had passed since the captain called for lights out, and both athletes were still wide awake. Every time Kageyama felt himself drifting off, he’d be awakened by an accidental backhand to the face or an unwelcome knee to his side. Hinata was proving to be an extremely restless sleeper, and it was starting to get on his nerves.
“Stop moving around so much!” He barked out after Hinata elbowed him in the ribs for the seventh time. He rolled over to face his orange-haired teammate, who seemed just as frustrated by the predicament.
“I can’t help it!! I can’t get comfortable…”
“How do you think I feel with you hitting me every five seconds?! And get your feet off me!”
“I’m not even touching you right now!!”
“Yes you are!”
“Am not!!”
Kageyama mumbled something that sounded like a curse under his breath, then turned around to face the wall again. The truth was, Hinata wasn’t lying; he had curled his limbs back into himself after the last accidental bump, so truly no part of him was touching his crotchety teammate. Seeking revenge for being yelled at (while also experiencing a streak of somewhat uncharacteristic mischief), he took the opportunity to tease his taller classmate.
“I’m not touching youuuu…” he taunted in a childish sing-songy voice, one finger hovering right next to Kageyama’s side.
“Leave me alone, Hinata.”
“But I’m not even doing anything…”
A wave of misguided bravery suddenly overcame Karasuno’s greatest decoy. He moved in closer until his hand was right next to his companion’s side.
And then he poked him.
At first, Kageyama just flinched. He arched his back, tension spewing throughout his body, and the sound of a stifled squeal rang out through the quiet, darkened room. In a flash, Kageyama rolled over once again to face his former middle school rival.
“Hinata! You - AAAGK!”
This time, Hinata really caught him off guard by poking his side again. The setter’s arms immediately went to his sides, hugging himself in protection. The decoy’s eyes widened once he understood what was happening.
“No way! Kageyama, you’re-!”
He was silenced by two strong hands gripping both of his wrists in midair and one single, ominous word of warning.
“Don’t.”
Still unfazed, Hinata kept pressing him. A devious smirk was slowly creeping across his round face.
“Don’t what? Don’t do this?”
He slipped one hand out of his grasp somehow and pinched his side again, but this time Kageyama let out a small yelp before flinching away. He tried grabbing Hinata’s hand, but the decoy had learned from the first time and slid away before he could be caught. He tickled every spot he could reach, seeking out unprotected areas. Skittering on his sides, poking into his ribs, clawing all five fingers on his belly, he was always one step ahead of the setter.
As his tickle attack continued, he noticed Kageyama was having a harder time holding back his laughter. For the most part, it was still fairly controlled, but hearing some little tittered giggles break through every few seconds was satisfying enough.
“Nghh! Mmmph! Hhh… ha…! … Hinata…! Sto - aha! -op!”
Kageyama’s struggles became more determined and purposeful, and soon the tables were completely turned. After a brief struggle with all four limbs involved, Hinata found himself pinned to the mattress with both wrists above his head and a very cross Kageyama glaring down at him.
“Hey, wait!! Kageyama, please!!”
“You shouldn’t mess with people who are bigger and stronger than you.”
In one swift, fluid movement, Kageyama took hold of both Hinata’s wrists in one hand. No matter how hard the underclassman pulled, he couldn’t break free from his iron grip. He wasn’t exaggerating when he said he was much stronger. It was a terrible time to learn such a fact; Hinata had made a grave mistake letting himself get stuck like this.
He was laughing frantically before Kageyama even touched him, and his laughter only grew in pitch once his free hand started kneading his ribs.
“Wait, wait, wahahahait! Nononononononono-OHOHOHO!!”
Unlike Kageyama, Hinata didn’t have the willpower to hold back whatsoever. His giggles floated through the air freely, like musical notes from a singing choir. And it seemed like everywhere the setter touched garnered an intense, over the top reaction. Worming into his underarms made Hinata howl with laughter. Wisping gently over the now-exposed skin on his stomach after his T-shirt rode up his torso made him squeal like a little kid. And digging into his sides made him cackle like he’d heard the most hilarious joke ever told. On top of that, he was thrashing around as if being poked with hot coals. Even with Kagayama pinning most of his body down with his own large frame, he was still wiggling around quite frantically.
Kageyama’s lips twitched upward in amusement, only adding on to Hinata’s torment.
“KAGEYAHAHAHAHAMA!! Pleheeheeheease no mohohore!!”
“Nope. You started this. Now I’m finishing it.”
“Gahaahahaha! Noooooo! Pleaseimbeggingyouimgonnadie!!!”
Yet, Kageyama did not stop, making sure to hit every one of Hinata’s weak spots and tickling it until he was satisfied. He was proving to be one giant tickle button, screeching with wild laughter no matter where he touched.
“Shorties like you should learn when to shut up and listen,” Kageyama gave him one last piece of advice before finally letting up on the ruthless tickling. His hand still held Hinata’s wrists down, but with a bit less pressure. His teammate’s involuntary spasms ceased, although a few leftover giggles still fell from his lips.
“You might... be taller…” Hinata gasped, doing his best to swallow as much as possible during his little break. “But I’m... faster!!”
Kageyama had let his guard down thinking he’d tired him out, forgetting about his high level of endurance, and Hinata took full advantage of that by yanking his wrists free and immediately clamping his hands in Kageyama’s underarms. He took him by surprise this time, which made the setter burst out into unrestrained laughter. He crashed down onto the mattress, causing them both to bounce as he tried shaking off the decoy’s hands. Hinata had to laugh along with him; he rarely saw his teammate show any sign of joy, let alone a full blown belly laugh, and he planned to soak it up as long as he could while he still had the chance.
Kageyama attempted to squirm away, flailing each of his limbs aimlessly in an unsuccessful attempt to kick him off, but came face first with the wall and found himself stuck with nowhere else to go. Again, Hinata tortured him by leaping from spot to spot, relentlessly tickling all of his most sensitive areas without mercy.
“Nahahahahaoooo! Hinataahahahahaha!! I’ll kill you!”
“Take that! And that!! And this too!!”
Their little game went on for a few more minutes, Kageyama spluttering out empty threats through forced giggles as Hinata began to throw in a few “tikitiki” sounds while tickling the absolute snot out of him. However, their fun was soon interrupted by their less-than-pleased team captain, who practically knocked down their door aflame with rage.
“What the hell are you two doing?! You woke up the entire floor!”
Both underclassmen stopped dead in their tracks, mortified at the fact that others had overheard them. Fear struck through their hearts upon seeing Daichi’s irate expression. Dark circles lined his eyes, an unpleasant accessory to match his deep scowl.
“Uh…”
“Stop playing around and go to sleep!” He commanded in a disciplinary tone. “We’ve got practice games tomorrow!”
“Sorry senpai!! It won’t happen again!!” The two shouted simultaneously, once again bowing their heads in shame.
Daichi grumbled under his breath before making his leave.  When the door closed, the two of them collapsed back onto the mattress. Kageyama, still winded and out of breath, took a few seconds to calm himself while Hinata replayed the last few minutes in his mind over and over again. They sat there in awkward silence, neither one willing to speak of what had just happened.
“Sooo…”
“Not another word,” Kageyama silenced him swiftly, turning over to face the wall yet again. Suddenly, Hinata felt a bit lonely, twiddling his thumbs in silence for a little while longer before piping up one last time.
“So, you’re ticklish.”
“I said not another word.”
Kageyama’s order was final, but he sensed the shorter boy shuffling next to him and braced himself for yet another awkward conversation.
“Can I say one more thing?”
“Will you shut up if I say yes?”
Hinata sat up beside him, and as he spoke Kageyama could hear the smile in his voice. It made his next few words all the more flustering.
“You should really smile more often. It suits you better than a frown.”
The setter’s breath caught in his throat and made him choke, causing him to let out a few weak coughs as if he’d been kicked in the stomach. He felt a warm flush over his cheeks and thanked whatever deity was watching over him that Hinata couldn’t see. He clutched the blanket next to him and pulled it over his head, signaling that he was done for the night.
“Goodnight, Hinata.”
A few seconds passed, then he felt Hinata lay down beside him. He made a few more adjustments before finally settling down into a comfortable spot. Kageyama felt his eyes fluttering shut, but before he drifted to sleep he heard a small voice cut through the silence.
“Night, Kageyama.”
~~~~
When he woke up in the morning with sunlight in his face, Kageyama stirred a bit before realizing there was an arm wrapped around his waist. He glanced over and saw Hinata sleeping peacefully, his tiny body curled up into his own. Shocked at first, his initial discomfort settled down when he noticed his own body relaxing at the unexpected display of affection. It was a cute gesture, one that made his cheeks flush with warmth and his stomach erupt into a flurry of butterflies.
He knew that it was almost time for them to get up for practice, but he figured laying in bed for a few more moments wouldn’t hurt.
secret relationship; h. shouyou
Summary: Hinata and male reader boyfriend keep their relationship a secret.
Love Interest: Hinata
Format: Headcanons
Notes: This is my first time writing headcanons, so they’re probably not the best. I hope they’re okay!
****
When Yachi is asked to be manager-in-training, she asks you to go with her because she was scared about everything.
You go meet the team with her and have to calm her down from seeing all of the ‘scary tall’ guys.
She once told you that you weren’t scary because you weren’t tall like all of those people (5’5) and you were too pretty to be scary.
Anyways, you were best friends with Yachi through your mothers knowing each other.
She knew you were gay and had frequent fleeting crushes (basically you’d say you were in love one day and have no interest the next).
Well Hinata became one of them. (Or so you thought)
It started because she had asked you to help her tutor Kageyama and Hinata, and you couldn’t say no to her, especially when it was scheduled during the time you two typically studied.
Hinata made you feel excited and alive.  He was so lively and intriguing that you just couldn’t help forming a crush on him.
You believed it was a fleeting crush until you found out he helped Yachi with her self-confidence, and you were a goner for him.
“Yachi, I have a problem.  It’s really bad,” you said in the middle of studying.
“What happened, Y/N?  Do we need to call the police?”
Yachi is full on the verge of freaking out, looking for her phone.
“Yeah, you may kill me.”
She stops and stares at you as if she may be able to read you somehow.
“What?”
“I may think Hinata is really pretty,” you say very quietly because you know you’re going to be killed.
Pillows are thrown at you.
“You’re not supposed to get a crush on one of the boys!”
Defensive mode happens because who said you had a crush on anyone? It was obvious though because you called every guy you’ve ever liked pretty.
“Okay, as long as it’s one of your usual crushes, Y/N.”
Sadly, it’s a real crush for once.
You’re pissed at how much you like Hinata, and it’s worse because he always compliments you for some reason.
“Y/N, you have pretty eyes!” He exclaims when he sees you during lunch.
“Y/N, your hair looks so nice today!” He exclaims at morning practice.
“Y/N, you’re getting better at understanding volleyball! It’s so cool!” He exclaims when he sees your journal of volleyball stuff.
It’s a new compliment every day and you can’t stop swooning, but you can’t hate him for it.
He’s just trying to be your friend, but of course your brain just has a thing for niceness.
Suddenly you’re confessing right before practice, you have him cornered in the club room.
You would’ve preferred it to be slightly more thought out, but you get what you get.
“I really like you, Hinata.  I understand if you don’t like me the same, sorry to bother you.”
You’re about to leave when he grabs you by the arm and looks you in the eye.
“Why wouldn’t I like you?  You’re so cool and pretty and funny and smart!”
Definitely not what you were expecting, but you’re not mad at all.
He tells you he wants to date in secret.
Goes into a ramble how he isn’t ashamed of you, but he just wants everyone to be safe because gay relationships aren’t really accepted where you live. He also doesn’t want to distract the team because they’d make a huge deal out of it.
You have to reassure him that you’re not mad at him because it’s a safety thing and he wants what’s best for the team.
You’re also used to not acting on physical things like kissing or hand holding with other people.  You’ve never really been in a relationship before though.
Neither of you act different and you realize that he has always been extremely touchy with you.
You really don’t know how you could’ve missed it.
There’s either an arm around your shoulder, him jumping to be on your back, arms brushing as you walk next to each other, etc.
You can only guess you missed these things because your feelings weren’t as strong when it was just a crush (you also weren’t AS close before)
You’re jittery when it happens now though, but you can’t do anything publicly about it.
Yachi figures it out before you can say anything
“Y/N, what do you think you’re doing!” She screams at you when you enter her home.
“Being in a gay relationship.” You deadpan.
Definitely got hit by a pillow for that one.
Hinata walks you home every night and it’s somehow actually on his way.
He takes you on dates on the weekends when you two are free.
You go to the park, lunch, museum, just anywhere to spend time together.
One day you study at your house and he rants to you about the stress he’s been facing because of Spring Interhigh Tournament because he wants to beat Oikawa and Ushijima so badly.
You comfort him with taking breaks to go outside and try to help him practice, and it does help him calm down.
He really likes you and you make him so happy
Hinata explains that he wants to be in a public relationship, but he’s still scared of how others will treat you.  He also still worries about the team
It takes you by surprise that he’s only worried about you because he says he just doesn’t care what others will think or do to him.
You’re fine with things being private for now until suddenly all you want to do is kiss him.
There hasn’t even been a first kiss, but it’s all you can think about.
Eventually, you just kiss him mid-sentence one night on the way home after making sure no one was there.
It wasn’t perfect, but he had no experience and you had ‘experience’ (kissed two girls during spin the bottle isn’t experience, but you’ll say it is)
You guys start having more affectionate when walking home, which helps the urge to just want to kiss him constantly die down a little bit
Tokyo training camp rolls around
It comes to find out that Hinata told Kenma about you two dating, which Yachi knew so it was fair for one of Hinata’s friends to know.
It would’ve been nice if you had been told Kenma knew though.
Kenma is a guy you’d definitely have a fleeting crush on if you didn’t have such a liking for Hinata, but you don’t say anything (Yachi later points it out though).
Kenma gives you looks when you’re too close to Hinata, as if you were being too obvious about dating.
If anyone was being obvious, it was Hinata with his tucking loose hairs behind your ears as he smiled at you.
Your heart was so full because of him.
Suga notices Kenma’s looks at the two of you and Hinata’s looks of admiration before anyone else does.
You’re not even sure how no one hadn’t noticed Hinata’s behavior around you, it really amazed you.
Suga pulls you aside and asks if you’re dating Hinata.
You think it’s a really stupid question and you know Suga isn’t going to discriminate against you, because he doesn’t seem the type.
“What do you think?”
Suddenly you’re having to explain everything to him and how you’ve been with Hinata for a while now (you think, you don’t actually remember the date you guys got together).
“Okay, just tell him to tone it down a bit, okay?  He’s being extremely obvious.”
“I’ll try, Suga-senpai.”
When you tell Hinata what happened, he gets extremely flustered.
“I’m sorry! Gaah, I thought I was being secretive.”
All you can do is kiss his temple because there’s not much to say.  You really don’t want to explain how obvious he is
He does back off, and maybe too much
Not too much for you, because you know if you ask for affection, he will give you some
The team notices how he isn’t as close to you anymore and Tanaka is demanding for you two to stop fighting
(You never realized the team paid that much attention)
You come up with a lie that you don’t want some sweaty guy rubbing up all over you.
Your worst lie yet
Everyone except for Suga (and maybe Daichi) believe it and you literally have no idea how
Kenma asks how you managed to get Hinata to stop being as affectionate, and you just say that one of the other teammates found out and that’s enough motivation you guess
Hinata gets back in being touchy with you after the training camp is over
He may be slightly even more touchy as if he has to make up for time he lost.
The tournament in November is exciting for both you and Yachi, but mainly nerve-wracking for Yachi.
You end up being the one who has to calm everyone down from their freak out, even if it’s not the best.
“This is a new tournament everyone.  You guys have improved, so just fix the mistakes you made last time.” You say as everyone is freaking out during warm-ups.
“What if I can’t?!” Yamaguchi asks and you wonder if he’s about to cry but go for the aggressive route either way.
“Well, you’re going to.  Get your shit together.”
You’re cheering for Hinata from where you’re seated with Yachi.  You’re probably cheering the loudest.
Yachi is trying to get you to stop screaming as much and being aggressive towards the other team.  It’s apparently not acceptable to say they suck extremely loud.
You’re with Kiyoko when Terushima is harassing her for her number, and you’re trying to get him to leave her alone.
“She obviously doesn’t want to talk to you, asshole.”
“This doesn’t involve you, brat.”
You are about to fight him when Hinata comes to save the day with his outrageously high jump.  Kiyoko also pulls you away from the captain, worried you’re going to start a fight when he walks by.
You’re the first one to tease him on his lunch cloth and Kiyoko teases him in front of the team.
They beat Aobajohsai and you have never been this happy in your entire life. Your team did that!! Your boyfriend scored the winning point!!  Yachi is trying to get you to calm down because you’re vibrating.
“Come on, Y/N, you need to calm down.  You’re going to do something stupid.”
She’s right, you’re going to do something stupid.
You see the team and immediately start running (Yachi is screaming for you to calm down)
“Y/N!” Hinata exclaims and he’s about to go on when you tackle him before kissing him.
You realize what you’ve done when everyone is silent and just whisper “Oh shit, sorry.”
Most of the team is actually surprised?? You’re not sure as to how because Hinata could barely keep it a secret.
Tanaka and Noya are upset that two of their kouhai are in relationships when they’re not.
“How dare you get a boyfriend before us!” Tanaka yells and Noya is nodding.
“We only both have boyfriends because we are each dating each other,” you say slowly, because you’re not sure they understand any of this.
Daichi and Suga tell everyone to talk about it when they get back to the school because everyone is tired.
Hinata and you finally get to sit next to each other on the bus without it seeming weird when he passes out on your shoulder early into the drive back.
Next day, you are probably the loudest person cheering in the entire gymnasium (besides Suga when he screams at the team) as you scream how that’s your boyfriend
“Number 10 is my boyfriend and he’s crazy!  Did you see that spike!”
Yachi is trying to get you to quiet down, but Hinata keeps smiling at you and Saeko is encouraging you being loud
Everyone at Karasuno knows you two are dating at this point (hard for them not to) and you’re bragging about Hinata now because you finally can
No one was ready but at least you and Hinata are happy though.
nothing is so loveless as the break of day
AO3
Cold dawn A waning moon With no companion— Since our parting, nothing is so loveless As the break of day.
—Mibu no Tadamine
 Haiji wakes up on his first morning in his new apartment and decides it’s too quiet.
Getting a team of almost complete rookies to the Hakone Ekiden in less than a year is an accomplishment. It’s noteworthy. While Haiji hadn’t been thinking of his future prospects in his last year of college (he just wanted to run), the fact is, what he did should have been impossible, as Kakeru said. Over and over and over.
This, as it turns out, makes him very employable, and somewhere in between his emergency surgery and his final exams and his packing, he gets a job offer to be an assistant coach for a corporate team. He doesn’t really have anything else going for him, so he takes it, and he, Yuki, and King all graduate from Kansei to the cheers of their teammates.
Haiji’s heart is heavy as he steps out of Aotake for the last time as a resident. He knows the team is in good hands, with Kakeru being unanimously voted to succeed him in captainship and several incoming freshman eager to be part of the team that seeded in their first year at Hakone, but it’s bittersweet. He got one year. One year. One year out of four.
“Call me if you need anything,” he tells Kakeru.
*
Kakeru doesn’t call.
*
“Hey, Kiyose-san!”
Haiji startles, looking up from his training journal to face one of the runners he’s been charged with inducting to the world of professional running. Tamura Shou, his mind supplies. He’s a bit older than Haiji, with dark hair and brown eyes. “Tamura-san,” he greets, closing his notebook to hide his notes. He knows from experience (from Kakeru) that runners seeing their own stats isn’t always the best idea. “Did you need anything?” The group Haiji is in charge of is taking a break right now so another group can run time trials, so he doesn’t see the harm in a little bit of conversation.
“Well,” Tamura says, looking a little sheepish all of a sudden, “Yoshioka and I have a bet running, and I wanted to ask you straight out, so, do you have a girlfriend, or something?”
(“By the way… Kakeru, do you have a girlfriend?”)
“What.”
Tamura flushes. “F-forget it!” He blusters off to a cluster of other runners.
Haiji blinks, a little stunned. What would have made him think Haiji had a girlfriend?
*
Cooking for one is hard. Haiji always makes too much.
*
He still talks to Yuki and King, sometimes. Yuki’s trailblazing his way through both the legal track and several women’s beds and is always eager to talk about each conquest. Haiji enjoys his career talk and tolerates his womanizing talk. King finally found work as a guidance counselor at a nearby middle school, and he’s the faculty supervisor for their men’s track and field team. Haiji never lets him forget how reluctant he was to start running in the first place.
The three of them meet up for drinks every once in a while. Haiji considers proposing inviting the older members of their old track team, but decides against it. Seeing them feels sad, like trying to relive that last glorious year of college would be betraying his friends.
“Haiji, King,” Yuki slurs one night after a few too many drinks, “you need to get girlfriends already.”
King blushes. “Shut it! I’m busy enough as it is without a woman getting in my way!”
Haiji sighs. First Tamura-san, and now this. What is it with the world prying into his romantic life? “I’m content,” he tells Yuki. “I already got everything I could ever want. What else can I ask for?”
*
He almost goes to a track meet to see if Kansei is there. He decides against it.
*
His team goes away for a training camp. Haiji can get around pretty well with his crutches by now, so he goes with them.
Okinawa is beautiful in the summer. Haiji leans out the window of the van his group takes and watches the passerby, the teenagers on their skateboards and the families walking together. He remembers how much the twins wanted to come here last summer. (He wonders where Kansei went this year, if they went anywhere at all.)
Watching the runners run is always hard. He wants to run with them, feel the wind in his hair, use his muscles that have become lax in the months since Hakone, hear his heart thunder in his ears. Wants to see if that white line that was always under Kakeru’s feet is anywhere else.
(He doubts it.)
He helps cook the meals for the team, like he used to for Kansei, but it feels wrong to cook with someone other than Kakeru next to him. He’d only had company in the kitchen for a year, but he grew used to it, and cooking without Kakeru is foreign.
He wonders if Kakeru cooks with anyone new at Aotake. He wonders why the thought makes his stomach twist up in knots.
*
He doesn’t visit his parents very often. What would they even have to talk about, other than running?
*
He’s off his crutches by then, but he still doesn’t get to go watch the Ekiden in person. Training starts that day, after all, and he’s too new to be able to beg off to watch his former team compete in a relay race. Instead, he watches the highlights when he gets back to his lonely apartment both nights.
Not everyone from last year is running the race. Prince, Jota, and Nico-chan-senpai all act as supports rather than runners, but they’re wearing their track suits, so Haiji knows they’re still on the team. He’s surprised at Nico-chan-senpai not running. It’s his last year.
The team is strong, much stronger than when Haiji was captain. He knows that’s because of their success last year. If they hadn’t made it to the Ekiden already, their team would be pretty much unknown. But the sight of all these strong runners working together with his friends makes something ugly bubble up in Haiji’s chest. He wants to be there with them. He wants to be running that race.
Kakeru beats the section nine record again. Haiji watches him hand the sash off to the last runner, some first-year, and remembers when that was him.
Kansei finishes eighth.
Kakeru doesn’t call him.
*
After their graduation, Shindo and Nico-chan-senpai join their nights out. Shindo’s working as a business analyst for the corporation sponsoring Haiji’s team, so they see each other more frequently than the others already, and Nico-chan-senpai is still doing his freelance programming.
“Whoa,” Yuki says the first time they meet up, “you cut your hair!” His fingers brush Nico-chan-senpai’s newly-short hair almost reverently. “You almost look like a functional person!”
“Thanks, I really missed this,” Nico-chan-senpai snarks, but his eyes are unbearably soft.
The conversational inevitably turns to Kansei. “It’s so strange,” Shindo muses one night, before he gets too drunk. “I got so used to it just being the ten of us that working with all those new people was weird.”
“They just kept hangin’ around Aotake, too,” Nico-chan-senpai grumbles. “As if the twins weren’t loud enough already.”
Shindo groans. “And they’re even worse now that Hana-chan’s at Kansei. They have some sort of pact to not pursue her until they graduate, but they’re so moony. Musa and I were never like that.”
What?
Haiji’s glad he’s not the only one confused by this statement. A quick glance around their table tells him the rest of his former teammates look just as shocked. Well, except for Nico-chan-senpai, who just nods in agreement, like this is a reasonable thing for Shindo to be saying. “Uh, Shindo?” he says. “What are you talking about?”
Shindo looks at them like they’re all stupid. “Uh, me and Musa? We’ve been dating since last year’s Ekiden?”
“HAH?!” Yuki slams his hands on the table, jostling everyone’s beer.
“Wasn’t it obvious?” Shido’s neck is red, now, and not thanks to the alcohol for once. “It’s not like we were trying to hide it or anything!”
“I-I thought you were straight, though!” King says, flushing red under his tanned skin. “You had a girlfriend!”
“Bisexuality exists, you know,” Nico-chan-senpai drawls. Haiji doesn’t miss how his eyes flicker over to Yuki as he says this, or how Yuki stares straight at Shindo, ears red. Huh.
*
“Kakeru misses you,” Shindo says to him after the others leave for the night (or early morning, whichever is more accurate). “You should give him a call, sometime.”
“He could also call me,” Haiji points out.
What good could I ever do to him? he wonders silently. I can’t even run anymore.
*
The revelation of Shindo and Musa’s relationship is one Haiji can’t help but dwell on. Looking back on it, he realizes the signs were there. They were always close, after all, and Musa ended up dragging a drunk Shindo back to his room on more than one occasion. It was weird to see one of them without the other close behind.
So, he thinks, maybe this was inevitable.
He imagines their relationship, sometimes, when he’s alone, lying in bed in his too-empty apartment. They’re probably easy. Comfortable. They don’t have to fill a silence. They’re content to just be with each other.
He wonders if Kakeru has anyone like that.
He hopes not. Does that make him a bad person?
*
Now that he knows about Shindo and Musa, Haiji can’t help but wonder if any of his other former teammates are like them, so he does what he does best: he watches.
It only takes a few more guys’ nights out to notice how Nico-chan-senpai keeps looking at Yuki. He only does it when he thinks no one is looking, but his eyes are soft, affectionate, loving in a way that makes Haiji ache. Has anyone ever looked at him like that? Like he hung the stars in the sky? Like he’s the answer to everything?
“Why haven’t you said anything?” he asks Nico-chan-senpai when Yuki heads back to the bar to hit on a girl. Shindo and King are talking loudly to each other about their respective jobs, both already three sheets to the wind, so Haiji’s not concerned with either of them overhearing.
Nico-chan-senpai doesn’t pretend to not know what he’s talking about. “I’m content with how things are,” he says, looking wistful. “I’d rather have his friendship and pine than risk losing him over a confession.”
Haiji nods, even if he doesn’t really understand. Then, a little quieter, he asks, “How many of the original team do you think are…?”
“Queer?” Nico-chan-senpai supplies. Haij flushes. “Well, Shindo and Musa for sure, and me, obviously. I have my suspicions about Kakeru, but I’m not sure.”
Haiji feels his world stutter to a stop. Kakeru?
*
He can’t stop imagining it, now. Has Kakeru ever kissed another boy? Did he sneak around with his classmates in high school? Is Kakeru with a boy right now, in his room at Aotake?
Haiji hates the thought.
He pulls up his phone browser and types in “what does it mean if i get mad at the thought of my friend with a guy” and deletes it. He already knows the answer.
*
He throws himself into his coaching to try and distract himself from his new intrusive thought. His runners aren’t thrilled with his newfound enthusiasm, but it gets results, so none of them can really be mad about it.
“What, did you get dumped, or something?” Tamura jokes.
“Five more laps!” Haiji tells him with a cheerful smile.
*
When Hakone rolls around this year, Haiji watches the replay of Kakeru beating his own record once again, and Kasei takes fourth place. After, Haiji pulls up Kakeru’s contact information and stares at the call button for a good minute.
He decides not to call.
*
The first time Musa and Prince join them after their graduation, Shindo downs five beers in ten minutes and spends the rest of the night in Musa’s lap. Musa (who has a goatee, now, and it suits him pretty well) manages a surprisingly normal conversation around his clingy boyfriend, and that’s how Haiji learns he’s staying in Tokyo for grad school.
“Visas are complicated,” he says. “Until the laws change and Takashi and I can get married, the only way I can stay here for now is as a student.”
Musa calls Shindo by his first name. Haiji’s not sure what to make of that.
Prince got a job as a shonen manga editor. “I’m not going to be working on any major projects for a while,” he grumbles. “What’s the point of editing manga if you don’t get to touch the big ones?”
“Hey,” Haiji soothes, “at least you get to work with manga! And who knows, maybe you’ll be tasked with a sleeper hit!”
“That’s what my girlfriend keeps telling me,” Prince groans.
Yuki almost drops his glass. “Girlfriend?”
King whirls around and grabs Prince by the collar. “I can’t believe you got a girlfriend before me!”
Nico-chan-senpai makes a considering noise. “That’s three of us with actual partners, huh? Shindo and Musa, and Prince.”
Musa laughs. “Four, soon, if the twins have their way!”
“I thought they were waiting until they graduated to ask Hana-chan out,” Haiji says.
“No, no, they are. They’re trying to set Kakeru up with a guy they met at this year’s Ekiden.”
Haiji’s blood roars in his ears.
“Oh, that guy from Rikudo?” Prince asks. “What was his name? Miyamura?”
“Miyamoto,” Musa corrects. “Miyamoto Jurou. They went against each other in Section 9. Jota saw him checking Kakeru out and decided they should get together.”
“I swear to god,” Yuki grits out, “if Kakeru loses his virginity before I get a steady girlfriend, I’m going to murder someone.”
So will Haiji, he thinks.
*
Nico-chan-senpai pulls him aside as everyone else leaves the bar. “I saw that look earlier,” he says. “What’s got you so upset about Kakeru?”
Haiji really doesn’t want to talk about this, so he says, “I’ll tell you if you promise to ask Yuki out by our next guys’ night.”
And so the subject is dropped.
*
He goes home that night and looks up Miyamoto Jurou. He’s a third year at Rikudo, studying literature, and he’s tall and good looking, and he gave Kakeru a run for his money at this year’s Ekiden.
And he can run.
*
In what feels like a breach of their semi-distanced guys’ nights, Haiji finds himself at Shindo and Musa’s tiny apartment a few weeks later for a housewarming party.
It’s been Shindo’s apartment for a year now, but with Musa moving in, it feels kind of like a home. The decor is a healthy mix of Shindo’s country sensibilities and Musa’s colorful Tanzanian culture, and the two young men seem so at ease in this space they’ve made with each other that Haiji kind of wants to cry.
More than anything (okay, maybe not more than running) he misses this. He misses living with someone else. He misses the noise and the companionship. Every morning, he wakes up to his empty apartment and he feels lonely.
He’s so caught up in this feeling that he misses Kakeru, Jota, Joji, and Hana-chan arriving until he hears something hit the floor. His head whips around and he sees Kakeru standing in the doorway, mouth slightly open in shock and a convenience store bag filled with what looks like plastic bottles of green tea at his feet. Haiji feels his heart stop.
Because Kakeru is gorgeous. He’s always been good looking, Haiji knows, but that was a lot easier to deal with when he saw Kakeru on a daily basis. Now, it’s been a little over two years since the last time he saw him, and he’s wholly unprepared.
But everyone is looking at him, now, and he knows Kakeru kind of hates being the center of attention and that’s what’s going to happen if he keeps staring at him like an idiot, so he forces his face into a smile and waves. “Hi, Kakeru. Long time, no see.”
*
Things are more than a little tense, even if everyone pretends the atmosphere is normal. No matter where Haiji goes in the tiny apartment, he can feel Kakeru’s eyes on him, burning a hole in his skin.
He tries to make the most of the party. He catches up with the twins and Hana-chan, who have all fallen into leadership roles as the years went on with ease. Now that Hana-chan is a Kansei student herself, she can help them full-time, which has, apparently, been very helpful. “Plus,” Joji whispers to him, already drunk, “having a cute manager is a huge morale boost!”
Jota and Joji are sort of like sub-captains, from what Haiji gathers. Kakeru is the main authority on all things running, but Jota and Joji, who specialize in sprinting and long-distance running respectively, have been overseeing those aspects of the team’s practice. “We have almost twenty guys now,” Jota says, “so it’s hard for Kakeru to give them all one-on-one attention, so Joji and I focus on the broader things while he nitpicks.”
“That’s a great idea,” Haiji praises, and he can’t help the smile that overtakes his mouth when he sees how Jota preens. This feels right, advising his former teammates like this. It’s different from the feeling he gets coaching the corporate team, because that’s a team, but this is Haiji’s family.
He wishes he could turn back time. He wishes he could live in that final, wonderful year of college for the rest of his life.
He wishes he could run again.
*
He can’t avoid Kakeru forever. Nico-chan-senpai makes sure of that, because when he escapes to the balcony for a breath of the cool night air, he hears Nico-chan-senpai say, loudly, “Oh, Haiji? Yeah, he just went out those doors! You should go check on him.”
Is this revenge? Haiji wonders. Is this him paying me back for trying to make him make a move on Yuki? It must be.
He doesn’t look up when he hears the sliding door open and then close again, or when he feels Kakeru walking up next to him to lean on the rail. “You never called,” he says, staring at the city streets below, still alive even in the dark.
Kakeru sighs. “I figured you would be too busy, with your rehab and your new team and all.”
“I’m never too busy for you.”
“Yeah, you say that, but you would do something stupid, like sleep less, to make time to talk to me.” Haiji finally looks over at him, his profile glowing a little from the light inside, and, god, he’s so beautiful. “You can’t do that to yourself again, Haiji-san. It was scary enough the first time, and we were still living at Aotake, then. If you collapsed again, I might not even find out.”
“Alright, point taken.” Despite the earlier awkwardness, this feels natural. It feels like quiet nights in the Aotake kitchen, listening to Kakeru clumsily chop carrots while the prepared dinner together. It feels like home, almost. “You’re doing a great job, Kakeru. I watched the last two Ekiden highlights, since I couldn’t go watch in person. You’ve become a great leader.”
Kakeru flashes him one of his genuine, tiny smiles. “I learned from the best.”
*
It’s easier, after that.
Everyone comes to the Aotake demolition party to say goodbye to the building that used to be home, and they split up to help Kakeru and the twins move into their new apartments, and things feel normal, for once.
Kakeru’s new apartment is tiny, but Kakeru, by his own admission, probably won’t spend too much time here in the next year before he graduates, so he’s not too bothered by it. Between his classes, training, and the part time job he’s picked up in the shopping district, he has a busy fourth year ahead of him.
“Years ago,” he tells Haiji when he sees him to the door when his taxi arrives, “you said you wanted to know what running was. Do you remember that?”
“Of course,” Haiji says.
“Come watch Hakone this year. I’ll tell you when it’s over.”
Haiji could say no. Should say no. He has his own team to think about now. But when Kakeru looks at him like that, Haiji would say yes to just about anything.
*
The next year passes in a blur. Haiji works harder than he ever has before, like he’s making up for having to take the first few practices of the new year off months in advance. The guys’ nights happen with a little less frequency (or, at least, Haiji attends less of them than he used to), but they’re fun when they do happen.
“I finally have a girlfriend!” King says one night, triumphant, and the table explodes into raucous cheers and applause. “Her name’s Noriko, and she’s the second year social studies teacher at my school, and damn, is she cute!” He whips his phone out of his pocket to show them a photo of a woman who is, indeed, damn cute.
“Ugh,” Yuki groans. “Life isn’t fair. How did you get a girlfriend before me?”
“Being a whore might be a factor, there,” Shindo slurs.
Yuki growls when the rest of their friends laugh. “But really, who’s next?” He spins to glare at Nico-chan-senpai, who’s hiding his grin into his beer glass. “Are you gonna pop up with some girlfriend next? Huh?”
“Nah, I’m too old for that shit,” Nico-chan-senpai says, waving the comment off with his usual affable air. “I’ll just be the cool, childless uncle who spoils all your kids rotten.”
“So, that just leaves Kakeru,” Prince muses. “Has anyone heard anything else about that Miyamoto guy the twins were trying to set him up with?”
The mention almost makes Haiji’s blood boil, but before he can rile himself up too much, Musa shakes his head. “Hana-chan told me that he asked Kakeru out, but he turned him down. Apparently, he already has someone he likes.”
Around Haiji, his friends start debating who, exactly, Kakeru likes.
Haiji has an idea, though.
*
Before he knows it, the Hakone Ekiden has arrived. Haiji arrives at the finish line for the first day before the race starts, a livestream already bookmarked on his phone, and he finds the rest of the original Kansei team there, as well. “Hey!” Yuki says, slapping him on the back. “You made it this year!”
“Well, it is the last time any of the original team will be racing,” Haiji says. “What’s everyone running this year?”
Musa looks at his phone. “Jota is Section 1, Joji is Section 2, and Kakeru is Section 10.”
Haiji blinks. “Not Section 9? Why’d he change up sections?”
“If I had to guess,” Nico-chan-senpai says, “he wants to cross the finish line in his last Ekiden.”
Haiji thinks back to his first and last Ekiden and nods. “That makes sense.”
*
Kansei ends the first day at fourth place, which is very promising for the return leg. Their fastest runner is at the very end, after all, and Haiji knows damn well how many runners Kakeru can pass if he’s serious about it.
Haiji stares at his phone in his hotel room that night and thinks about calling Kakeru. He knows he shouldn’t. Kakeru needs his sleep if he’s running the last section of the race tomorrow. But then he remembers their conversation on Shindo and Musa’s apartment, and he hits the call button.
Kakeru picks up very quickly. “Hey,” he says, voice soft. “Did you watch today?”
“Yes. Your team is really good. You’ve got a chance of winning tomorrow.”
“Don’t say that, you’ll jinx it.”
Haiji laughs. “Since when are you superstitious?”
“It’s my last chance, Haiji-san. I want to go out with a bang.”
“You’ll do great.”
“Will you be waiting for me at the finish line?”
“There’s nowhere else I’d rather be.”
*
Haiji is a nervous wreck for most of the next day. He remembers this anxious feeling from when he was running the Ekiden, but now it’s combined with a feeling of helplessness. There’s nothing he can do but watch, and he hates it. He wants to be running alongside Kakeru, working with him, helping him cross the finish line.
But he can’t.
So he watches.
*
Kansei keeps doing well. They’re a far cry from the haphazard team Haiji put together all those years ago. These men are trained runners, athletes who have spent their lives preparing for this moment. There are no Princes, no Nico-chan-senpais, no Kings.
They are a group of Kakerus.
Where am I? he wonders as he watches them run. Did Kakeru find someone to take my place? Was there room for someone like me in the team he’s made?
*
The Kansei runner who runs Section 9 doesn’t beat Kakeru’s record from last year. Haiji can’t help but feel incredibly smug about it.
*
Haiji limps his way to the finish line as soon as he sees the sash get passed to Kakeru, who’s in first place. First place! “Go on ahead of me,” he tells the others, who try to slow down for him. His knee is on fire, but he’s going to see this through. “I’ll just slow you down.”
“What the hell kinda talk is that?” Nico-chan-senpai asks.
Prince nods and puts a hand on his shoulder. “You and Kakeru didn’t leave us behind, no matter how slow we were. The least we could do is return the favor.”
“We’re the Kansei Ten,” says Jota, since he and Joji joined the rest of their former teammates after their sections. “We finish this the way we started it: together.”
“‘Kansei Ten?’ What kinda name is that?” Yuki scoffs.
Haiji’s heart feels full, and he and his friends, his family, walk to the finish line together.
*
When they see Kakeru coming around the bend, everyone starts yelling. Haiji can’t help but think about that second track meet, where only half of the guys ran, and how the spectators just went buck wild. This is the same thing, except there are nine people cheering and one person running.
Well, more than nine people cheering. The rest of the current Kansei team has joined them at this point, so their shouting is deafening. Haiji knows there are several cameras trained on them, but he can’t bring himself to care. All he has eyes for is Kakeru, running towards him. Was this how Kakeru felt, all those years ago, when he was in Haiji’s place and Haiji was in his?
There’s my dream, he thinks again. It’s taken form and it’s running.
Kakeru has always been his dream, even if he went over twenty years without knowing it. And now that he knows it, he can’t escape it.
“Kakeru!” he yells, cupping his hands around his mouth to make himself louder. “Last spurt!”
His friends laugh at the phrase and join in in sync, but he’s not paying attention. All he sees is Kakeru, speeding up, making a beeline to him. He knows, logically, that of course Kakeru has gotten faster over the years, because that’s how progress works, but Haiji swears on everything good in this world that he’s never run as fast as he is now.
When Kakeru crosses the finish line (in first place!), Haiji rips the blanket out of the twins’ hands and throws it over Kakeru himself. “You did it!” he gasps, and he’s positive Kakeru can’t hear him over the cheers of the rest of the former and current Kansei team members, but he says it again. “You did it, Kakeru!”
It seems like everyone is trying to touch Kakeru. There are hands on his arms, on the blanket, on his back, in his hair, but Haiji refuses to be dislodged. He has an arm locked around Kakeru’s shoulders and he’s not letting go. Not for anything.
Haiji sees the reporters hovering outside their circle of celebration. He should let Kakeru go talk to them, should let this incredible man get interviewed for the nation to see, but he’s selfish, so he still doesn’t let go.
*
“And there we have it! Kansei University has won the Hakone Ekiden, led by captain Kurahara Kakeru! There, we can see Kurahara-senshu’s teammates congratulating him, along with the original Kansei University Hakone team. In the center of the celebrations is former captain and current works team coach Kiyose Haiji-senshu. Some of you will remember that Kiyose-senshu had to quit running after his first and last Ekiden four years ago…”
*
“Kurahara-senshu! How does it feel to have won the Hakone Ekiden?”
“It feels amazing, but, at the end of the day, the times don’t really matter. I got to run with and against extremely talented runners, and that is what I’m most grateful for.”
“Do you plan to continue running when you graduate from university?”
“I’ve had some scouting offers from works teams, but I haven’t committed to anything yet.”
“What do you have to say to young athletes?”
“I want to say that running isn’t about who’s fast and who’s slow. It’s about strength, and everyone has the strength to start. And, no matter what, you’re always running with someone.”
“Thank you for your time, Kurahara-senshu. And, again, congratulations!”
*
The team and their supporters retreat to a nearby bar to celebrate. Haiji still refuses to leave Kakeru’s side, finding excuses to touch him as often as he can. He’s probably being too obvious, but, then again, next to Shindo and Musa, he’d be surprised if anyone noticed.
King’s and Prince’s girlfriends meet up with them at the bar, too, so everyone gets to meet them. King seems a little suspicious of Yuki when they walk through the door, but he’s a perfect gentleman about the whole thing. “They’re great guys,” he says to Noriko-san and Chihaya-san, Prince’s girlfriend. “I’m proud to call them my friends.”
Everyone stops dead at the surprisingly earnest expression from Yuki, and Nico-chan-senpai pulls him into a noogie, saying, “Damn it, Yuki, why’d you gotta get all sentimental?” and then everyone laughs.
*
As the night winds on, Haiji finally has had enough, and he tugs on Kakeru’s elbow to pull him away from the noise of the celebrations. They wind up outside the bar, leaning against  the building, arms just barely brushing. Haiji knows his knee is going to hate him tomorrow, but for now, he’s just focusing on Kakeru. “You said you’d tell me what running is,” he says, trying for conversational and probably failing.
“It’s you,” says Kakeru, characteristically to the point. “You’ve always been the answer.”
Haiji just stares for a moment. Then, for lack of a better reaction, he tilts his head back and he laughs.
Kakeru, of course, flushes bright red. “W-what?”
“Oh, no, not you,” Haiji says, having doubled over. “I’m not making fun of you, I swear.”
“Sure seems like you are,” Kakeru grumbles.
“I swear,” Haiji repeats. He straightens up, because he knows he has to be serious about this. “It’s just, I thought something similar about you.”
The younger man perks up. “Really?”
Haiji nods. “When I saw you running, that first night, I thought, ‘That’s it. That’s my dream.’” He laughs again, this time, soft. “We’ve both been idiots, haven’t we?”
“I think so,” Kakeru says. He’s breathless, like he just finished running, and Haiji can’t help how he delights in being able to affect him like this. He reaches a hand out, just this side of shy, and tangles his fingers with Haiji’s.
“Hey, Kakeru?”
“Yes?”
“Can I kiss you?”
Kakeru pulls his face down in response.
The first meeting of their lips feels like coming home.
“You know,” Kakeru mumbles against his lips when they draw back just enough to breathe, “my lease is up in a month.”
“Move in with me.”
“Yeah.”
And then they kiss again.
*
“Oh, fuck you guys!” Yuki yells when he pokes his head out the door a few minutes later to see them still kissing.
*
A month later, Haiji wakes up in his apartment, Kakeru snoring softly into his ear and his leg thrown across his hips, and decides, maybe, it’s not too quiet, after all.
Girl, this just a q. Hahaha what do you think's the love language of the HQ boys? You can name the obvious ones and wild guesses. Been thinking bout it for a day 🤣
Hi!! Sis i'm sorry this came out late, but i kinda did the receiving/showing love language too if that makes any sense. i hope you like it haha! i think i may have gone a little extra on the others (but that's bc ur special to me 👀)
(Do take these with a grain of salt, because ngl no one is strictly just one type of love language, you could be a perfect mix, 20% of each type haha! And these are all opinions anyway, based from what i've seen/watched/read.)
Haikyuu!! Love Languages
Words of Affirmation (Showing)
these boys show their love verbally. they let you know they love you with little unexpected notes or texts. they're usually good listeners who would always have something to say, and that something to say feels so right in that moment and usually makes sense 100% of the time.
sugawara koushi. we all know he has a way with his words. let's not forget that he is 'mr. refreshing' because of how good he is at communicating with his teammates. also the "negativity begone!" moment? asahi? when he made hinata realize stuff about kageyama when he was teaching him how to receive? yeah seems just about right to me.
probably hinata shoyou. but it's so adorable though because he's gonna be sooo shy about it! i mean the way he encouraged a lot of his peers–he has his awkward moments and blushy blushy times but this boy always knows what to say even if it seems stupidly simple–but that's how he is and that's why he's so lovable.
Words of Affirmation (Receiving)
these boys on the other hand, enjoy or prefer hearing verbal validation from their partner. they love it when you listen to what they have to say, or when you praise them and push them to be better with words. or when you appreciate the little things they don't usually do for others but makes exceptions for you.
definitely bokuto koutarou. and goshiki tsutomu. no explanations needed.
tanaka ryunosuke. call him senpai and he's yours maybe. i mean his mental strength do be high but he loves it when he's being praised.
oikawa tooru. i mean, maybe he doesn't enjoy it much when he's being ranted to but if you give him the privilege of listening fully as he lets out his deepest issues/insecurities? without judgment? he's good to go. always remind him of how good he actually is and acknowledge his hard work genuinely. always check up on him with little texts throughout the day or send him memes/quotes/photos and tell him "this reminds me of you" to cheer him up. push him towards greatness at the same time push him to rest. (got carried away with this one i'm sorry)
Physical Touch (Showing)
obviously the all-touch body language gang. prefer to convey their love and affection when they're with you physically. holding hands, hugs, not necessarily clingy but there's always a way or another that they're touching you even in the slightest of ways–can be a hand on your low back or even just fingers entwined loosely.
kageyama tobio. have you seen him hold and memorize the feel of a volleyball? practically the same thing with you. the amount of times his fingers have traced every line on your palm when you two were idling about somewhere–it happens all the time, it's become routine, it's made you volunteer your own hand too esp when you find him stressed.
nishinoya yuu. damn have you seen him just all over everyone? i mean, he isn't exactly clingy but in little background stuff, he's always touching someone? and doesn't he like touching the ball? kskisks
idk i'm just gonna say tendou satori too because... his fingers give me that vibe. and shit, i almost forgot about akaashi keiji. ma'am his little finger fiddling habit??? he'd love to fiddle with yours too. he's so gentle with how he holds your hand he thinks it's immaculate–he'd even ask permission first omg 🥺👉🏻👈🏻
Physical Touch (Receiving)
basically they love being touched or having skin-skin/close contact initiated by you. they love it when you give little hugs or just idly resting your head on their shoulder or lap.
iwaizumi hajime. this cuteass hedgehog–i been simping for him for a week already 😭 i feel like he craves touch even though he doesn't explicitly say it. smooth your hand over his cheek or forehead you'd already see a difference that his brows relax, his lips part slightly for an exhale. when you make it a point through your touches that you're there, for him, even if it's just choosing to sit beside him during lunch is already 👌🏻
i think... miya atsumu. the opposite of iwa's tho. this boy is handsy-handsy. this might as well be his way of showing love too. run your hands over his muscles madame, or brush fingers through his hair if you feel that it looks out of place. a sucker for you clinging onto his bicep when walking. idk i just think that for new/early on in a serious relationship with him, he's gonna be big on showing you off to the world so physical stuff are important for him because he knows words can be faked or scripted sooo yeah
Receiving Gifts (Showing)
"it's the thought that counts" kinda dude. they give you little things they think you might want but moreso things that you need. it doesn't have to be any "thing", it could even be something as simple as a bottle of water or energy drink. they make you one of their top priorities in life.
miya osamu. bruh he's chef's kiss cooking. that's it. i feel like he's the one who's gonna be making bentos for you (or you two can do that together as bonding too!) but i feel he's the type to remember food you pointed out once or watched on youtube, and i tell you you're gonna see it wrapped nicely on your desk a few days later.
yamaguchi tadashi. i feel like he's the type to just pick something up from the convenience store on his way home from training, then next morning he's going to shyly give it to you. "i just thought you might need a new one," his cheeks are flushed and a bashful smile on his lips when you thank him gleefully!
kozume kenma. just because this boy is sugar daddy material. can easily buy something online that he saw you window shopping for on your phone. he does this not to show off his cash, but because your happiness comes first 🥺👉🏻👈🏻 he's not really that good at handling emotions he's so closed off so i think this is the way he finds and uses to show love to you.
Receiving Gifts (Receiving)
sounds redundant, but these boys fall for you harder when you remember them through little things you drop on them. can be from a well thought out gift to something so mundane like a single piece of candy. (but thoughtful gifts are better!)
daichi sawamura. he's not materialistic don't worry (ngl daichi's like, one of the most virtuous characters in haikyuu). but can we not forget that little charm michimiya gave him (the team)? i hc that he's the one who kept it, it's somewhere in his room on a shelf. i mean, anyone could keep that right? they could put it in the clubroom (even after they graduated) but he just decides to keep it. anyway, he's not going to expect you to give him extravagant gifts in particular–he just... enjoys seeing little things that you give him (it can be a pen or ink refills, a phone case, or anything at all) and he's bound to treasure it for a long while, and will always be grateful for you (because you're the greatest gift you've given him)
just a freaking guess but... bokuto koutarou. he's one of the more simple minded folks so if you remember to buy him a shirt he was eyeing or just basically bring him cute matching charms, he'd be sooo soft for you. big buff baby.
Quality Time (Showing)
these boys show their love for you by spending time with you–no distractions (to some, maybe no phone-using too!). not meant to sound restrictive or toxic in any way, but when they're with you, whether if it's a drive home or just lazing about the house, they'd appreciate it if you're attention is fixed on them.
ushijima wakatoshi and oikawa tooru. they're both hella busy with killing each other getting better, they're practically married to mikasa the volleyball. so they show their love for you by clearing out their schedule, or reserving just a day or two with only you. and if they do that, shower them with all your focus, love and attention. (esp oikawa if he comes to visit you from argentina). y'know the feeling of "the world stops and it was just us" kind of vibe. anyway the point is, they'll make time for you to make up for missed dates or calls. a lot of understanding needs to happen here, and if you respect their dreams and support them, sis ya got the 💍 coming
Quality Time (Receiving)
these boys on the other hand prefers alone time with you; maybe has something to do with not being so keen on PDA but if it does, only by a little bit. they don't say it but they love it when you share a bunch of small little moments together without interruption from nosy senpais/brothers/cousins.
tsukishima kei. this tol salty french fry... you don't even need to be talking, or touching each other. he likes the comfortable silence between you, and he loves spending time with you even if that's hard to see or realize. the only giveaway is that, only one of his ears is covered by his headset when he's with you doing homework; meaning he's ready to hear if there's anything you wanna say.
sakusa kiyoomi. bro just clean your room or the house for him and he's sold. i'm not kidding. he loves doing chores with you and going grocery shopping (especially in aisle 15 for the cleaning wares).
Acts of Service (Showing)
no they're not slaves for you, they show their love for you by doing stuff for you, from something so little that's hardly noticeable to even grander gestures–they're willing to go out of their way just to help you in anything and everything that you need. homework? chores? you don't even have to say anything and they'll pipe up with "i'll help".
aone takanobu. :( big, giant, softie. he'll do anything and everything for you. you'll notice stuff from the cupboard have been taken down, especially when you tell him you're gonna cook something and he knows what ingredients you'll be using. he's a man of very, very few words so please know that he loves you whenever he brings it upon himself to carry your stuff for you, and blocking away all negativity from your life.
akaashi keiji. bro you've seen him grab a glass of water for a choking kageyama. that's just the veeery tip of the mf iceberg! this boy is so well mannered that helping others just comes naturally for him–but with you he even does it a little more extra. will always bring water for you (esp if he knows how little you drink), will bring your fave snacks to you when finals are coming up, you'll notice that your work desk is a bit neater lately; he's just so pure and wholesome and you know if it's him, you're in good big hands.
Acts of Service (Receiving)
they become mush when you do stuff for them voluntarily. like no you didn't have to, but you did–it's you who did that for them–and they just fall in love with you all over again
yamaguchi tadashi. no i didn't say this just because his specialty was his serves. i just feel like his heart is gonna combust when he sees you doing something for him. omg imagine if you were the one who holds up a plastic bag of shimada mart and you're his reset point??? omg??? that's so soft??? like there's a lot of people there but all he sees now is you and just courage 100 worries 0
another motherflippin guess but yaku morisuke. not bc he'a good at receiving serves. he's like the mom of nekoma so he's used to being the one kinda telling people off and keeping the kids in line–he's got that responsibility on his tiny and firm shoulders. so if you decide to do stuff for him (or even the team) like bringing extra towels for everyone, making food (and a separate packed one for him), he's gonna be sooo proud of you and spite kuroo about it lolol
Part 1 || Part 2 || Part 3 || Part 4 || Part 5 || Part 5.5 || Part 6 || Part 7 || Masterlist
The relieved sighs and voices of students echoed through Karasuno High as the student body wrapped up exams. The volleyball club was reaching its goal through donations thanks to the posters that you had made and posted up throughout the school and town. It first started off with just Kageyama and Hinata but then the rest of the team pestered you into making posters of them too. This only happened because Nishinoya had tagged along on your weekend photoshoot and ever since he saw the way you captured the two of them on camera, your best friend constantly bugged you to do one for him. When you guys got to practice, the rest of the team overheard his complaining and they all ganged up on her. You gave in when they all came together and gave you the cutest pouting faces you’ve ever seen with the exception of Kageyama and Tsukishima. Kageyama was minding his own business since he already got his photo taken while Tsukishima just scoffed but still met her gaze before shrugging as if to say ‘It’s up to you if you want to include me or not.’ In the end, the following weekend ended up being a whole photoshoot with the team to highlight all of their specialties as well as a team photo before getting the rest of the posters printed.
Although exams had ended, it was another practice day for the boys and Shimizu had pulled you away for a moment so the boys could get ready for their welcoming surprise for you. Word had spread that you were officially going to be their manager through Tanaka who couldn’t wait to share the news in the team’s group chat after he overheard you talking to Takeda after school earlier that week about your final decision. After gathering water for the boys, you were back in the gym and found that the team had lined up by the door to greet you. Shimizu joined the boys as Daichi walked up to stand next to you to make the official announcement.
“So, we’ve finished our exams, and starting today, (L/N)-san will officially be one of our team managers.”
You gave everyone a small smile as Shimizu walked up to you with your team jacket.
“Here.” she said.
Everyone watched as you held up the jacket in front of them before hugging it to your chest. They all gave you bright smiles with Tsukishima and Kageyama nodding their heads at you. Daichi ruffled your hair before leading the chant for everyone.
“Ready and…”
“Welcome to the Karasuno High School Volleyball Club!” they cheered.
With teary eyes and a new found determination, you bowed and exclaimed, “It’s a pleasure to work with you!”
“ALRIGHT! (Y/N)-CHAN IS BACK IN THE GAME!” Tanaka cheered as he stripped off his shirt and began to wave it around. Hinata and Nishinoya joined in on his cheers as the third years walked up to you.
“We’re looking forward to seeing what you’ll bring to the table, kiddo.” Asahi smiled and patted your head before grabbing his water bottle.
“I knew you’d say yes, (Y/N)-chan.” Sugawara said and gave you a hug.
“We wouldn’t have it any other way.” Daichi finished as Shimizu nodded her head and patted your shoulders.
“Now all that’s left is the boys’ test results.” you murmured as you watched the boys begin their practice.
--
“(L-L/N)-san…”
You looked up from your cellphone to find Hinata and Kageyama approaching you in the classroom. You weren’t going to lie, you were nervous to find out their test results because Nishinoya had already texted you that he and Tanaka barely managed to pass. You could only sigh as you read their expressions and put your phone in your bag to listen to what they had to say.
“Trust me when I said we really tried our best! We didn’t mean for this to happen!” Hinata pouted as he slowly slid his results towards you.
Then you looked at Kageyama who silently looked down in frustration and slid his exam towards you as well. Taking in a deep breath, you closed your eyes and flipped both of the exams over. Hinata ended up getting 21 and Kageyama received a 38 and before you could think properly, you let your head fall to your desk. A loud thud was heard and you could feel your soul slowly leaving your body.
“(L/N)-san?!” they exclaimed.
‘I had such high hopes for them…’ you internally cried, ‘Wait a minute-’.
Looking through their exams once more, you clicked your tongue and whacked Hinata on the arm.
“HI. NA. TA. All of your answers were correct but you filled in all your answers off by one!” you hissed and he held his palms together to bow his head.
“Once I realized it, there wasn’t enough time to fix it!” he pouted.
You huffed then shifted your attention to Kageyama’s exam. After skimming through his answers, you pinched the bridge of your nose before handing their exams back to them. “Kageyama-kun, you need to stop having tunnel vision when it comes to studying...it seemed to be all comprehension rather than memorization…’
“...At least I tried and got a perfect score in Kanji... “ he muttered in defeat.
You took a deep breath and mentally reassured yourself that they couldn’t become textbook geniuses over night. Lifting up your head, you gave them an encouraging smile and shrugged. “There’s always next time, right? And if it helps you feel better, since you guys only failed one part of your exams, you should be able to make it to Tokyo in the afternoon. Usually the first exam is in the morning and if you have any other parts you need to work on, it goes on throughout the day.”
Their eyes widened in realization but also paused for a bit to notice the small red mark on your forehead.
“(L/N)-san, your head…” Hinata said as he pointed towards the small injury.
You laughed and touched it, only to wince slightly and Kageyama sighed. Taking out the second carton of milk he got for himself from his bag, he silently gave it to you and motioned towards your head.
“You idiot, you didn’t have to react like that and now you might have a bruise. Noya-senpai is going to kill us if he found out we were the reason for that.”
You took the carton of milk out of his grasp and smiled in thanks as Hinata quickly read the mood change and realized what was going on. He knew that the three of you were growing close as friends because of the daily study sessions and constant chats during practice, but he didn’t think that Kageyama would catch an interest in you. Smiling to himself, he watched as Kageyama huffed and you chuckled in response before placing the cold drink against your head.
“...idiot.” he murmured before walking away.
“Yeah, yeah Kageyama-kun. Thank you for actually caring about me.” you replied in a sing-song tone and waved him goodbye as he walked out of the classroom.
“Say...do you have a crush on Kageyama, (L/N)-san?”
You jumped in surprise and let out a small ‘eek’ as Hinata smiled cheekily. He grabbed a chair that was near him and turned it around so he could rest his arms on top of the backrest. You puffed out your cheeks and wearily eyed the orange haired boy in front of you. Swinging his legs back and forth, he waited for you to say something. You didn’t expect for Hinata to catch on so quickly. But it wasn’t like he was actually right about it, you just weren’t sure what to think of Kageyama. There was something about having this unspoken understanding with each other that you haven’t had with anyone else. You had only recently noticed this after he had picked up his notebook. No one was able to relate to how your mind worked whenever it came to volleyball and yet Kageyama easily saw through the façade you put up to cope with the mental stress that came along with your injury. Was it a crush? You weren’t sure, but with the constant presence of him in your mind, maybe Hinata was right after all.
“I wouldn’t say it’s a crush...He’s someone that I think I can get along with very easily…” you muttered in thought.
“It’s okay to admit that you have a crush on him, he is pretty good looking even if he does come off as scary.” Hinata snickered.
“I don’t know yet, it’s too early to tell Hinata.” you retorted and rolled your eyes, taking out your notebook for the next lecture. ‘Damn it, Hinata is sharper than I thought...’  you observed and tried to distract yourself.
“You haven’t flat out denied it, (L/N)-san. Plus you can keep a secret with me! I can help you out with him too!”
“HI. NA. TA.” you threatened and he sheepishly smiled when you held your arm up to whack him again.
“I’m sorry, I couldn’t help but tease! I just have never seen Kageyama react like that with someone so I was just curious.” He quickly said while laughing with his hands held up.
You sighed and busied yourself by twirling your pencil, “Who knows?”
“What about this then to change the subject?” Hinata asked.
You looked at him from the corner of your eyes as he smiled at you. “Since I might be the first one to figure out your little secret, let’s call each other by our first names!”
You hummed in thought since you did feel immediately closer to Hinata after you first met. It also helped that you were the same age and you didn’t really have that many friends in your class. After taking a couple of moments to think about it, you smiled and nodded to his words. It felt good to grow close to someone like this again.
“Sure, Shoyo!” you happily replied.
Hinata cheered as the bell rang and he sprang up from his seat to get back to his class on time. “I’ll see you at practice then, (F/N)!”
--
You stretched your arms as you stepped away from doing meal prep with the rest of the managers. The team had arrived in Tokyo earlier that morning and had been introduced to the members that were on Nekoma. You laughed at the fan club that Shimizu had garnered but wasn’t surprised when their attention went towards you. Nishinoya and Tanaka did their best to act as your bodyguards when they went over towards the gym where the camp would be taking place. Once the boys were in their zone, you found it nice to be surrounded by the other female managers and joking with them. The girls all ended up making a group chat to keep each other in the loop for the schedule and with the promise of continuing on once the camp finishes.
You looked at your phone to see that the boys should be arriving soon, although you were  worried about Hinata and Kageyama’s safety after finding out it was Tanaka’s sister who was driving them. Hinata had texted you once they had finished and he told you that Tanaka asked Saeko to help out. Having your own experience with the older woman’s driving, you said a mental prayer for them. That woman really knew how to get to places and always cut the time by almost half of its original prediction.
It was break time for everyone and you needed some time away to recharge. Walking around the grounds, you let your mind wander before coming back to an empty gym. Going inside, you hummed to herself before stretching out your legs. Your knee still felt tight, but you recently had her last therapy session. Your therapist said that you should focus on restrengthening your knee before seriously thinking about going back to playing the sport. You grunted as you realized you couldn’t bend her leg as much as you could before and decided you could just serve some balls across the court.
“Oya?”
You turned around to find Bokuto, Akaashi, and Kuroo walking into the gym after doing a couple of serves.
“Oya, oya?” Bokuto asked as they looked at you.
“Oya, oya, oya.” Kuroo continued before smiling at you.
“Ah, Kou-kun! Tetsu-kun!” You smiled and they ran towards you at the same time, lifting you up in their arms for a huge hug.
“You goddamn giants, put me down!” you giggled.
“I didn’t think you’d come back to the scene.” Bokuto smiled as he ushered Akaashi to join them.
“I didn’t think I would either but I guess here I am.” you snorted and gave him a fist bump.
“Well it’s good to see you back, chibi-chan.” Kuroo added as he patted your head.
“This is Akaashi by the way, he’s a setter on our team.”
You smiled at Akaashi who gave you a wave and Kuroo walked off to pick up the ball. He smirked and tossed the ball towards you who caught it with ease.
“How about a small rally, for old time’s sake?”
Bokuto immediately brightened up and began to drag Akaashi to the other side of the court. “We’ll go against you guys!”
“You gotta take it easy on me you guys.” You said and gave them an exasperated look.
Kuroo raised an eyebrow at you when you walked up to him and snickered. “You say that, but your eyes tell a different story. You want to tear Bokuto apart on the court again.”
Bokuto pouted and said, “Hey, that’s so mean (Y/N)-chan! Either way, we’ll still beat you, HAHAHA.”
You playfully rolled your eyes and went towards the serving line without any objection. “What I’m saying is that you both tend to play on very intense levels. You need to tone it down because I’m still, oh I don’t know, crippled.”
“Hey that’s nothing to joke about, chibi-chan.”
“Whatever Tetsu-kun, let’s just get at it, shall we?” you smirked.
“Oh and there she is, ladies and gentlemen. (L/N) (F/N) back in the game, oh how we’ve missed the Firecracker.” Bokuto playfully announced.
“Yeah, yeah.” you  murmured before bouncing the ball up in the air for a jump serve.
At this point the four members on the court zoned in on their fun game when the others of the camp started filing back into the gym to continue the mock tournament. They watched as the small and agile girl who was only (x) centimeters tall kept up with some of the best players in the prefecture. Your friends that have seen you play smiled in pride as they finally got to see the specific smile you had whenever you’re  on the court while those who haven’t seen you play were surprised at your skill. What not many people knew was that you had gone to the same Youth Camp as Kuroo and Bokuto and that’s how you became friends with each other. Your father lived in Tokyo and you stayed with him during the summers where he signed you up for volleyball. Ever since that day, it was the start of your journey with the beloved sport.
The coaches called for the game to stop so they could get back to schedule and it was tied between the four of them. It was Bokuto’s turn to serve and you gave Kuroo a signal. He smirked and just as Bokuto served the ball, Kuroo let you take the game to its end. You quickly dived for the ball and hit it towards Kuroo who set it up in the air for you. Running towards the other side, you bit your lip and ignored the pinch in your knee as you jumped and spiked the ball right in the middle of Bokuto’s arms as they tried to block you. The gym watched in awe as the ball hit the ground and you let yourself fall onto your back. Slowly, the bystanders began to clap as Bokuto and Kuroo screamed in joy and ran towards you to help you up. Akaashi looked at you in awe as they surrounded you and the court began to fill in with teams to resume practice.
“You still got it!” Bokuto cheered before picking you up in a hug and spinning you around.
“That was some one of the most fun sets I’ve played in a while. Let’s play again this weekend if we can.” Kuroo grinned before ruffling your hair and meeting up with his team.
“You were amazing, (L/N)-san. We’ll see you around.” Akaashi complimented before bowing and dragging Bokuto towards their respective team as well.
You laughed and turned to look at Karasuno who was just staring at you in awe. Meeting the gaze of your best friend and still riding the high of adrenaline that you loved so much, you gave him a thumbs up and the brightest smile you’ve had in a while. Nishinoya took in a deep breath as he held in his emotions and was about to run towards you when the doors of the gym bust wide open to see that the anticipated duo had finally arrived. Their determined eyes landed on their team and quickly ran over to only change their expression to see that they had missed something. Nishinoya muttered them a short greeting before jogging his way towards you to make sure you were alright and they looked at Sugawara for some answers.
The third year smiled and nodded towards your figure on the floor who was getting reprimanded by Nishinoya. You were laughing as Noya helped you stretch out your knee while yelling all of the things that could have gone wrong with that game. They looked back at you to see that you were sweating and your braid had slightly come undone. A volleyball sat snuggly in between your arms and Kageyama quickly put the pieces of the puzzle together.
“She played?!” he asked with wide eyes and HInata’s jaw dropped.
“And we missed it?!”
“There, there. Maybe this can serve as inspiration to pass next time.” Daichi laughed as he slung his arms over their shoulders.
“Who did (F/N)-chan play with?!” Hinata asked as they slowly made their way to their respective spot on the court.
‘(F/N)-chan…? Since when were they on a first name basis?’ Kageyama thought as he listened in on Sugarawa sharing the details with them.
“We came back into the gym because our break was over, only to find her playing with Kuroo-san, Bokuto-san, and Akaashi-san.”
“Eh?! She was able to play against those three?! Woah, (F/N)-chan you’re amazing! I can’t believe we missed it!” Hinata cried as he hurriedly ran up to you and pouted.
Kageyama was impressed and made his way towards the group to see how you were doing. Hinata had helped you up to your feet and you grabbed the carriers that held the team’s water bottled. You smiled at the both of them when Kageyama reached you and shrugged. “Maybe I’ll play with you guys soon, so don’t be too sad. To be honest, it was just a game on the whim. I wanted to serve by myself before anyone came and before I knew it, I got swept up in a mock two versus two with them.”
“How do you know them?” Yamaguchi asked as you smiled and passed him his water bottle.
“We went to the same youth camp when we were younger. Well...just Bokuto and Kuroo though, I just met Akaashi-san today.” Haya explained.
‘Just how good is her actual skill? If she played with Kuroo and Bokuto at a young age...I want to see her play.’ Kageyama sighed as he let his thoughts roam and grabbed his bottle out of the carrier.
Coach Ukai called over to them and he instantly knew it was time to get focused. He and Hinata were already late so it was time to make up for all the time that they missed. Kageyama would have to find out about your past later either from you or Nishinoya because curiosity was eating him up inside. He needed to know because of how much he’s heard. The strong were always on the court and there was a part of him that wanted to find out just how strong of a player you could be, especially growing up with one of the top players from Tokyo.
"Y/n, we've come here today to talk about a problem regarding you."
You looked around nervously, and began your verbal diarrhea. "Okay, um, first of all, I want to say I'm sorry. I know it's our number one priority to make the clients happy, and I was side tracked, and that's on me. I'm really sorry. I shouldn't have been unprofessional with Alarico and that's super my fault. I know I need to get 100 guests and I'm only at 39 but I can do better, and again I'm really sorry for everything about yesterday, and—"
"Y/n," Kyoya cut you off. "This has nothing to do with your quota, or Alarico Gonzalez's behavior."
"Oh." You said dumbly.
"This is about your anxiety attack."
"Oh." You grumbled, though you quickly regained your composure. "I'm sorry you had to see that senpai."
"It was no trouble, and I've read that they can be very sudden and frightening to those who get them." He stated.
"We're really worried." Hikaru said.
"Yeah," Kaoru agreed. "When Kyoya told us, we had no idea how to help."
"You have to take care of yourself y/n-chan." Honey clutched usa-chan.
"Yeah." Mori said.
"That is why," Tamaki said, pointing to you. "We've decided to set up an appointment with the school therapist today!"
"Woah, let's not take it that far. I'm okay guys, really."
"You didn't look okay when you had trouble breathing yesterday." Kyoya stated.
"That was just a little hiccup!" You explained. "Things happen. I'm okay now, which is more important, right?"
Tamaki stepped up to you. "You're going to therapy, and that's final!"
"No." You said forcefully. This struck his feelings, and he sulked in the corner. You sighed. "I'm sorry I worried you all, and I'll be careful next time. I don't want to waste time and cut any classes so a therapist can tell me depressing things. I just want to forget about sad stuff here."
You gave them a smile. "Well, she seems unmotivated." Hikaru stated.
"But how are we going to get her to agree?" Kaoru asked.
Mori then thought of something. "Squishy ice cream."
That struck a nerve. You gasped and carefully looked at them, and Tamaki then got up. "That's right~ You were so busy last episode that you never got to try any, did you~?"
"Did you hear that?" Hikaru whispered mockingly. "She's never even tried squishy ice cream before. Isn't that sad?"
"Talk about a tragedy." Kaoru whispered back.
You nervously laughed. "C'mon guys, you don't really think of me as such glutton because I'm poor and never had it that I'd force myself to go to some therapy for some ice cream would you?" You kept nervously laughing, and everybody else smiled at you. You then quietly asked, "What time is the appointment?"
"We knew it." The twins said.
You scoffed and smiled. "You guys are something else. Why do you even care about this?"
"Don't refer to yourself as this!" Tamaki exclaimed. "If you need anything, know that I'm always here for you."
"You mean all of us are here for her?" Hikaru asked.
"As I said before, you are all the homosexual supporting cast!"
You let out an involuntary laugh. "Really senpai? Supporting cast?" You asked, walking over to them. "That's a little self absorbed of you." You then thought of something. "Can you guys do me a little favor though? Let's keep the therapy sessions to ourselves. My clients get worried easily and I feel weird when they get curious and ask me about my issues."
"Well, your appointment is right after the physical exams," Kyoya explained. "So that might be an issue."
"Alright then," Tamaki announced. "Gentlemen, it's time to enact The Keep Y/n's Secret Safe Plan!"
Later that day you walked with the twins to the physical exam, though the line was going to be too long to not miss your therapy session. When you went in there, your mouth hung open. "What the hell is this?!"
"It's just a regular physical exam." Hikaru said.
"I've seen malls smaller than this." You whisper shouted, speed walking to hold each twin by the arm, timidly looking at all the people and fancy stations. "This is so out of place for me. I feel so awkward."
They paid no mind to you gripping onto them, or at least tried not to. "Seriously y/n, you need to stop being amazed and scared at everything here." Kaoru said.
"I was amazed and scared of the host club when I walked in. Look at us now." You offered. Neither of them said anything but looked down at you. You then saw Mori and Honey dressed up in doctor attire. "Wait, what?" They put their fingers over their mouths shush you. "So obvious." You muttered.
"I have those two for back up in case this plan doesn't execute properly." Kyoya came out and explained.
"Why are they in doctor uniforms?"
"It helps set the mood." He pushed up his glasses. "Disguises make our mission feel like a real espionage."
You watched the doctor encourage a girl as three other nurses clapped for her. "This is weird." You said. "All the staff here are actually nice."
"Of course." Kyoya said. "All staff is chosen by the chairman. It is a school, but it's also a business. He wants the students to be happy, and most students here already have their own doctors for their families. So this, is just a formality."
You quietly scoffed and shrugged, shaking your head. You and the twins kept walking when someone bumped into Kyoya, and Kyoya's gaze lingered on him.
"Huh." The twins then began taking off their shirts to do their exams, and girls started squealing. "See now?" Kyoya asked. "Physical exam day is quite popular with the ladies."
"Hm. My physical exams in y/c had us also do exercise. Everybody was rude and just wanted to get everything over with, and that makes more sense than this." You then shook your head. "But girls here would probably still be squealing for that too because sweat is apparently attractive too."
The twins were being themselves and girls continued squealing. Mori and Honey took this as an opportunity to push you into a corner nobody was in. Tamaki then caught you from behind. "I've been waiting for you princess." He said in your ear.
"Tamaki senpai?" You turned your head.
He giggled in your ear. "You're so cute when you're surprised." He then stepped back. "This is it, the inevitable moment."
"What are you gonna do?"
He shushes you with his finger. "Don't worry, I'll protect you." You felt your cheeks tingle. That was until he put on a wig and stepped into the exams area. "I am ready to take the exams." He announced in his best impression of your voice.
"Hey, is Tamaki trying to dress as a girl?" One girl asked.
Tamaki was shocked, as if he didn't realize people would notice. The twins then bursted out laughing. "He actually did it!" Hikaru laughed out.
"I can't believe he didn't know that wouldn't work!"
Tamaki blushed and angrily grabbed Hikaru. "Why didn't you tell me it wouldn't work?!"
"It's payback for calling us homosexual supporting cast!" He laughed out.
Tamaki looked over at you shyly with big sad eyes. "Um, listen y/n," he timidly said.
"Did you really think that would work?" You asked, and your tone showed that it was a genuine question. He said nothing but pouted, causing you to glare at him. "Big words senpai. Small execution."
"Come this way y/n," Kyoya said. "There's a private room waiting for you."
"Senpai, you look like your enjoying this." You smiled at him. Tamaki dropped to his knees in the background.
Kyoya was smiling as well. "Well, I did need to get my revenge too. I don't appreciate being called supporting cast, homosexual or otherwise."
You both walked away as Tamaki weakly reached for you while fading away. You then went into a room with a female nurse. "Good morning Miss Y/l/n. It's a pleasure to meet you. I've been informed of your circumstances, so we can hurry along this process."
"Thank you ma'am."
"Of course. Step right this way please. You can undress in there." You nodded and stepped inside the dressing area.
The boys were listening to this girl cry about a doctor who supposedly made a pass at her. "I've never been so terrified." She cried.
"How scary!"
"Do you think he was a pervert?" This girls were huddled around her for comfort.
"I had a feeling this might happen." Kyoya thought out loud. "Earlier today I saw a strange man in a white lab coat, though clearly not one of our doctors.
"Shouldn't you have said something sooner?" The twins asked in an annoyed manner.
"I'm sure it's no big deal. I'm sure the security guard will catch him." Kyoya offered.
They still listened to the group in the back. "Tell me," said a doctor. "Did you see where this man went?"
"Yes sir, he was headed towards the private clinic down the hall." The boys were all silent as they realized that he was going to your room.
You had just unbuttoned your shirt, leaving you in your bra. You were about to take off your pants when a man went into your changing room and was peaking outside. It was almost like he didn't see you. "W–um, excuse me, but—"
He rushed over to you and covered your mouth with his hand. "No, it's not what you think. Please just be quiet."
"Y/n!" You both turned to see Tamaki in the air. "Tama-chan~ kick!" He kicked the man in the face and sent him flying into the wall. Tamaki then spun in the air a few times before coming down to the ground.
The twins then appeared. "One. Good looks that attract the public eye."
Kyoya then stepped out of the shadows. "Two. More wealth than you can imagine."
Mori then spoke up. "Three. Chivalry that will never be able to overlook,"
"The hideous wickedness of this world." Honey finished.
As you hugged yourself Tamaki gently placed his own shirt over you. "That's what make up the Ouran Host Club!"
They posed, with an exception of Mori and Kyoya, saying, "We're here, watch out!"
"Please don't hurt me! Spare me my life!" He bowed as you buttoned up Tamaki's shirt. He then got back up. "I run a small medical clinic in the next town over."
You were taken aback by the sudden fact. You looked at Honey, whispering, "Why is he telling us his life story?"
Honey shrugged, and you all listened. "My name is Yabu." You suppressed your laughter, since Yabu is another word for quack doctor. "You see, I came to find my daughter. My wife left me a month ago and took my daughter with her! I know that my daughter goes here."
You sat down to be at the same eye level with him. "Well now that I'm invested into the story, I gotta ask. What happened to make them leave?"
He explained that he kept giving people money and they don't usually pay them back. The latest time was the last straw, and they both left. "I can never say no to anyone. I don't blame them for not wanting to constantly live in debt. But I wanted to see my daughter one last time, so I wandered through the streets and was pounded by rain until I came here. But once I entered I was mistaken for a doctor, here to examine students!"
You smiled. "You mean they mistook the guy wearing a lab coat as a doctor? That's... wow."
"And then it happened," He ignored you. He then explained how he asked a girl for directions and she ran away screaming. "And before I knew it, there were all kinds of people chasing me!" He was bursting with tears.
"So tragic!" Tamaki was also crying.
"Pardon me," Kyoya said. "But I think you may have the wrong highschool. Are you looking for Ouran Public Highschool?"
"Yeah?" He stopped crying and looked up.
"I figured that might be the case. This is Ouran Academy, private institution. Your daughter doesn't go to school here."
He looked shocked, and the twins began to voice their opinions. "Man, you don't even know where your daughter goes to school? That's pretty sad." Hikaru said.
"Yeah, I bet your relationship's messed up because you don't pay attention to them, not because of some stupid debt."
"Wow Kyo-chan, you figured that out pretty quickly." Honey congratulated him.
"Well, the daughter of such a small business man could never afford to go here." You scrunched up your nose I'm response.
"Kyoya," Tamaki said. "Could you make a map of the public schools in this area? I'd like to help this man."
Kyoya looked surprised for a second, but smiled and regained his composure. "Whatever you say."
As the man got up you stepped in front of him. "If you'll allow me to give some advice." He nodded. "If you get there and school is still in session, don't just go in. Wait until she's finished with school, or else you're gonna look like a creep and she'll be too angry and embarrassed to talk." He said nothing and nodded, bowing. He left soon after, and you were all still in the private room. "Well, sorry to do this, but can you guys please leave now?"
Everybody looked surprised. "Y/n, are you still angry with me?" Tamaki said. "You're not going to quit the host club are you?"
You turned to him and smiled, patting his shoulder. "Don't be silly senpai. I need to get to that stupid therapy sesh and you need to put on a shirt. I just gotta take the physical exams and I'll give it back to you." You then turned around and smiled. "Let's get this straight though. I'm not doing it for some food, I'm doing it for my debt."
You giggled, and Tamaki smothered you with a hug. "I can see right through you! I know you're doing it for some squishy ice cream!"
He was smothering too much. "Okay, stop it! The shirt's riding up!"
"Red card!" The twins said in unison. They then dragged Tamaki out and everyone else followed.
You finished your exam fairly quickly and was guided by your nurse to the room of your therapist. "Good morning." She grinned. "Please sit anywhere you'd like."
You had decided right then and there that this was going to suck. There was fancy decor and expensive looking items. There was a nice looking couch and even nicer looking chairs. She had a desk that looked like it costed way too much, and she wore expensive clothing. This was all too much. You didn't belong in this room.
You silently sat on the couch. "I hope you feel your most comfortable self with me, so we can talk about anything you want." Her grin was still on and her tone was still chirpy. You said nothing. "Do you want to begin the conversation?"
You hesitated before speaking up. "May I ask about your background?"
"My background? Well that's an incredibly boring subject, but go ahead! Let's not have any secrets between each other, okay?"
You were silent for a moment again. "How were you brought up? Was it surrounded by things like this?"
You didn't try to smile. You didn't want to be here. There wasn't anything wrong with you, so there wasn't a reason to be here. Besides, this room itself was giving you anxiety. "Things like this? Well, I'm not really the materialistic person, but if you're asking me if I was born into a wealthy family that helped paved the way to my position, then yes. I was born into this."
Her smile never faltered, and you didn't like it. You didn't like the feeling of any of this. Exposed, you felt so exposed. It made you put your head down in shame. "Then don't you think you're a little overqualified to be talking to me right now?"
She was taken aback, but began writing in her notebook. She slightly nodded to it, as if she had decided something. "My, is that what you think?"
What the hell would she even write from that? That you have self esteem issues? That you're self conscious about yourself here? You deserved so much squishy icecream for this. You only shrugged.
"You don't seem very relaxed right now. Maybe we could talk about why that is." You shrugged again. Her smile almost left her face, but she hung onto it. "We can't make any progress if you we don't put in effort dear."
You sucked up your annoyance and smiled, bringing your head up. "If you want me to be happy about this, you could've just said so. And the reason why I'm uncomfortable is because this room is making me uncomfortable."
She then wrote in her notebook again. "I see. Is it the atmosphere? We can go outside to the garden if it makes you feel any better."
"Is this session a one time thing?"
She chuckled. "That's not how progress works."
"Then we can stay in here so I could get used to this feeling."
It was like she cornered you. She knew exactly where to strike. "Do you always feel like you need to comply to things? Like you have to be the one to adjust?"
You frowned. "Where did that come from?"
"Please answer the question dear."
"I don't know, I guess. I have to though. It's not like everybody else has to change their viewpoints to accommodate only me."
"Do those viewpoints make you upset?"
"No."
"I'd appreciate if didn't lie to me."
She seemed to have every one of your moves calculated. She suddenly knew how to outsmart you. "Sometimes, I guess. I don't know. They'll say a comment or two about how different commoners are to normal rich people. It's weird. I never considered myself normal, but I'm different for another reason here than before."
You wanted to slap yourself for saying that. She only wrote in her notebook again. "How were you different before?"
"It just sometimes felt like us against the world. The four of us were unbreakable and we didn't care that it was that way. I felt proud to be looked down on, in this weird way, because my friends were down there with me laughing at everyone else."
"And now?"
"Now I'm down there alone. Everybody looks down on me, but there's no one else to share that with. It just sucks sometimes."
"You have two separate friend groups that you mention. Do you feel differently towards the one back in y/c than here?"
"I never felt ashamed with my y/c friends, I guess. I don't know. They knew everything about me, and they still loved me for it. Maybe I feel like my friends here will just pity me if I open up more?" You brought your knees up and buried your face in between them. "Ugh, no offense doctor, but this sucks butt. I thought this was supposed to help me with my anxiety."
"And you don't feel anxiety when thinking about your new friends finding things out about you?"
You couldn't help but let out a laugh and fall to lay of the couch. "Damn it, you're actually pretty good."
"People can be more complex than you might think. Just as you feel like they won't understand you because of your background, you aren't giving them a chance because of their background." You looked up at her. She was still smiling.
You chuckled. "You really do suck." You then sat up straight. "Hey, how are other people like with your sneaky forwardness?"
She waved off the question. "Oh, I'm usually not like this at all. I normally have to go through this journey with them until they figure it out on their own. I figured you weren't like that and would prefer someone who wouldn't baby you. It's actually quite nice to get straight forward answers back."
You genuinely smiled. "I'm sorry doctor, I think I underestimated you."
She had a different smile on this time. "Hm. Tell me something that your new friends don't know about you."
"That's kinda hard. One of them ran a background check on me."
She chose not to push her luck and not ask about that. "Well, it can be a small fact."
You let out a sigh and looked down again. "I mean, I was at the store the other day and bought them all keychains. Once I brought them to school I realized how worthless this would be to them. So I just kept them.
"Pushing for a better relationship with your friends will maybe let them push with you. They might like the gifts. You don't know until you try it."
"Thanks doctor." You smiled at her.
"One last question, how did you act with your old friends? Were you touchy feely or more to yourself?"
"Um, touchy feely I guess." You then thought about how you and your friends never really had respect for each other's boundaries, though none of you cared. "Really touchy feely actually."
"Try to work on getting to that level with your new friends." She then checked the time. "Oh, it seems we just ended our session. I'm glad we got this far, and there's so much more to talk about. I'll see you next week."
"Yeah, okay." You smiled and got up.
"Oh, dear,"
You stopped. "Yeah?"
"Why don't you give your old friends a call? You seem like you miss them."
"Okay." You said, chirpy. "Bye!"
You walked back to the physical exam area, and everyone was just about finished. All your friends stared at you as you silently walked over to them. You didn't say anything and looked spaced out.
"Y/n," Tamaki quietly asked. "Are you mad at us for sending you to therapy? You're making a face."
"I'm just thinking senpai." You didn't look at him.
"About quitting the club?!" He grabbed you by the shoulders.
You gently poked his face and pushed it away with your finger. "About whether or not I should give you guys something." The bell rang and you looked at the twins. "Oh, let's go guys. Bye everyone."
Nobody said anything. You went to your class silently. "Uh, y/n?" Hikaru asked.
"Hm?" You turned to them.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Kaoru asked.
You smiled and hugged them both. "I'm sure."
After school you decided to use your phone and call the one person you know who also has a phone. The other two were also there, and the three were planning to see you as a surprise on Monday. Luckily, Jasmine can't keep a surprise to save her life.
You entered the host club with a big smile, setting down your bag to turn and see all the boys staring at you. "What?" You asked, still smiling. "Oh! The gifts."
"So you actually did get us something?" Kaoru asked.
"Yup." You brought them out of your backpack and walked over to Mori. You handed him a keychain of a small black belt. "I heard someone say you were in kendo, so I thought this would be nice."
He smiled and patted the top of your head. "Thanks."
You excitedly nodded and bent down to Honey, giving him a bunny keychain. "I thought it would kinda remind you of usa-chan if you two were ever apart."
His eyes shown as he held it in his hands. "Cute! Thanks y/n-chan!"
You walked over to the twins, handing them a tweedle dee and tweedle dum keychains. You didn't know how to explain this one, so all you did was nervously chuckle.
"Get it?" They only stared at it and back at you as you awkwardly walked away and went to Kyoya. You gave him a paintbrush keychain. "One of my clients told me you could paint?"
He smiled and took the gift. "Hm. Thank you y/n."
You grinned and walked over to Tamaki. He was like a puppy who was excited to get a treat. You didn't take any notice in the blush on his face, nervous yourself that he'd say something about the piss poor gift. You put a small bear keychain in his hand.
"I know you have a teddy bear like this, and I've seen your dorky led pencil with the bear on it." An arrow went through him. "So I thought this would be a nice addition."
"No offense," Hikaru said, staring at the gift in his hand. Everybody turned their heads to him. "But you know these are kinda useless to us right?"
You frowned, but quickly replaced it with a smile. "Yeah," you nervously chuckled. "I'm sorry. It's stupid, I don't even know why I got them. Sorry." You then quickly began to walk away. "I'm gonna get my stuff set up."
You made some special tea for your first guest since she mentioned last time it was her favorite. While you were doing this, Tamaki stormed over to Hikaru. "What was that about?"
"What?" He shrugged. "It's true. I don't get why everyone's acting like this is some treasure."
Kyoya began writing in his book. "According to my sources, y/n also gave her friends back home keychains. It's a gift that she can afford, but it seems to only be something that she only gives to those she holds dear." They all looked back at Kyoya, who was still writing. "Don't you think it's peculiar that right after she talked to her therapist, y/n said that she felt comfortable giving us each a gift?"
Kaoru didn't know what to say, and Tamaki grabbed Hikaru's shoulder. "Listen to me." He said quietly. "You have to apologize to y/n. She wanted to do something nice for you, and you showed your gratitude like a slap in the face to her."
He looked over to you in an annoyed manner, walking over and tapping your shoulder. You flinched but still mustered up a smile. Before he could say anything, the host doors opened.
He didn't get the chance to say anything for the next three hours, as you were always busy with a new guest. Over the three hours guilt began to plague him. Why was he feeling bad? It was a harmless fact. His chest felt heavy.
Finally when they were all gone, you began cleaning as quickly as possible. He tried to slyly get closer to you, but you noticed and kept moving to a new area quickly. It was annoying him. "Hey," he called out to you in a demanding tone. "Are you mad at me or something?"
You didn't look in his direction, busying yourself with cleaning. "No. Why do you say that?"
"Tch." He didn't have patience for the feelings inside him. "Why are you avoiding me then?!"
You, as well as the other hosts, were surprised by the sudden outburst. You let out a sigh, turning to face him and giving him a smile. "Did I do something wrong? I'm sorry that you had to raise your voice at me."
"Why are you still being nice?" He said in a quiet manner, embarrassed for yelling at you for no important reason. "I just yelled at you."
"Um, I'm sure you're used to having people's full attention." You offered a shrug, your smile still sticking. "People who're raised by hearing a lot of yes's are usually bound to be more demanding. It's only natural, so it's whatever."
"No it's not!" He raised his voice again. "You should be getting mad at others being rude to you. Don't be such a pushover!"
His words stung, and you dropped your smile. "Don't call me that." You said a little forcefully.
"You know what? Next time you go to therapy, work on that!" You didn't say anything and angrily continued cleaning while everybody stared at Hikaru. Tamaki was being held back by Kaoru, while Hikaru was just staring at you. Damnit. This was supposed to be an apology, but he made things worse. "Y/n—"
"No."
Your simple demand got everyone's eyes to you. Kaoru and Tamaki held each other from how scary you looked, while Hikaru stepped a few paces back. After a few seconds he was ready to retaliate with another comment, but before he could he was pulled back by Kaoru.
"Hikaru, try to calm down." Kaoru offered.
This got him angrier. "I don't even need her to forgive me! It's always been me and you, and we never needed anyone else! Why should that change now?"
They both stopped when they noticed you sadly staring at them. You then looked back at your cart full of dishes and rolled it away. When you came back you only saw one twin bashfully staring at you.
"Look y/n, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said those things, and—"
You began to giggle. "Wow, I never knew people thought of me as so much of an idiot to really not think I can tell some twins apart. Nice try Kaoru." He looked at you, shocked. You kept walking, before stopping to quickly say "I appreciate you trying though."
You walked over to the other twin, who was tied up and squirming under Tamaki's foot. You motioned for Tamaki to back down, which he did as you sat down next to the tied up twin, pulling down the tie over his mouth. "What was that for boss?!"
"If you cannot respect a woman properly, you will have to handled improperly!" You flashed Tamaki a smile for the comment, and he began rolling on the ground and muttering about how cute you are.
You turned to look at Hikaru, who angrily looked away from you. "So, I get it now." You grinned.
"Get what?" He shyly looked over to you.
"Why you're so nonchalant about everybody. It's because you're used to only relying on one person your whole life." He looked at you in awe. You really understood that. "Honestly, it's pretty amazing to look at. I wish I had a life companion like that."
"But don't—"
"Nope, still not gonna talk about that anytime soon. The point is, I get why you weren't concerned about my feelings, and the important thing is that you're thinking about them now...kinda. As long as you're actually sorry then all is good."
He looked away from you and muttered a sorry. You nodded and untied him, standing up to face the others. You let out a sigh and bowed politely. "I sincerely apologize for the unnecessary drama I brought to the club."
You felt a strong hand pull on your arm to lift you back up. You looked up to see Tamaki gently smiling. "Don't think you have to put your head down for us, and stop thinking of yourself as an outlier. We all enjoy your company."
You smiled back, and remembered what your therapist and you talked about. Try to become touchy feely with them. They're all still your friends.
You wrapped your arms around his neck, quietly saying, "Thank you senpai." You pulled back and saw Tamaki as a blushing mess, causing you to quickly yank back. "Sorry! Ugh, I knew I shouldn't have listened to my therapist about being more touchy feely."
"Actually," the twins said as they came to each of your side, back to their flirty selves. "You can do that with us!"
You let out a breathy chuckle. "You guys are so bipolar and I love it." You then walked over the Kyoya. "Are we all still hanging out tomorrow?"
He wrote in his book. "Oh course. Have you decided where we'll go?"
"Yup!" You grinned. "The swap meet!"
"Swap meet?" The twins asked.
"Well, I think you guys call it a flee market here in Japan." You then looked back at the twins. "Call me tomorrow morning so we can pick everyone up and go."
"Roger!" They saluted.
"Wait, y/n," Tamaki said.
"I'm sorry I made you uncomfortable Tamaki-senpai. I'll be less touchy with you from now on."
"Wait y/n! I did like the hug, I promise!" He sobbed.
You giggled. "You don't have to lie to make me feel better. Well, gotta go. Bye guys!" And with that, you left.
"Mama~"
"Is there a problem Tamaki?" Kyoya slyly smiled.
"What if y/n won't hug me anymore?! Who else would she hug?"
"Hm. Well, she could always come to any of the other host members—"
"Are you saying you would let my little girl hug you and smother you with love?!" He barked.
"Hm, if it helps her, then I suppose." Everybody else left Tamaki crying in the music room.
