During the Brotherhood's halcyon days, when all that concerned them was the creation and development of new rahi to inhabit the young universe, this Makuta became enamored with metamorphosis and transformation, how rahi could shift their form into something completely different in their natural life cycle. They poured all their research and development into this phenomenon, creating species that changed their shape in such wonderful ways. They even began to body this philosophy physically, becoming fluid in form, a decision only aided by the Brotherhood's evolution. They would eventually pass the threshold and create rahi capable of willful and fluid shapeshifting, their magnum opus being a species the Onu-Matoran of Metru Nui would later rather generically dub the "Archives Beast". Eventually, when the Brotherhood gave into their darker natures, the need for a proper conquering legion arose. Rahkshi, due to the costly nature of their creation, wouldn't cut it, despite their effectiveness. Hagah teams were also out, thanks to the limited number of Toa and their far more rigid moral compasses. So it was decided that this legion would be a species of rahi, and several members of the Brotherhood attempted to be the one to create such a force, this Makuta included. The species they created was truly ingenious, not only capable of perfectly mimicking the shape of other rahi and beings, but their abilities as well, and could even take on hybrid forms, mishmashing the features and abilities needed for any situation. They seemed to be perfect, and test runs indicated so, but then a problem arose. When this species shifted into other forms, they also acquired those beings' intelligence, which lead them to rather suddenly gain true sapience. This presented a problem for the Brotherhood, after all, it's quite troublesome if your mindless attack legion start questioning orders, and getting rid of them would also be a query, given their strength. Then an enterprising Makuta by the name of Chirox presented a twofold solution: His creation, the Visorak, would be used for the legions, and in one of their first test runs, they'd wipe out their competition. Teridax approved of this, and the Visorak were sent to exterminate their rival species. Said species creator was horrified by this, viewing the sudden sapience of their creations as a true mark of mastery, and tried to stop this. They failed, and the Brotherhood had them killed, and the Visorak laid waste the shifters, the mutagenic venom reacting to the shapeshifting in quite fatal ways. What survivors that do exist are scant and mostly rumors, the only truly known one later taking the name "Krahka". Though in private, members of the Dark Hunters who both know of this species and the operative Triglax strongly suspect a connection.

Thales will equip the U.S. National Air Guard F-16 fleet with Scorpion HMD

Thales has received a request to supply its Scorpion Helmet Mounted Displays (HMD) to the U.S. National Air Guard (ANG) F-16 Falcon fighter aircraft fleet.

The initial request was made under the NATO Support and Purchasing Agency's aviation program to facilitate the acquisition of Scorpion HMD and other associated equipment by NATO nations.

It will allow the replacement of the existing common helmet-mounted signaling system (JHMCS), without any modification to the platform.

Under the contract, the company will provide Scorpion retrofit kits for the National Air Guard's F-16 Block 40 and 50 fighters.

Once equipped, the new Scorpion systems will become the standard HMD solution for the entire fleet of F-16 aircraft in blocks 30, 40 and 50 throughout the National Air Guard and the U.S. Air Force Reserve (USAF).

Thales' Scorpion HMD system was also chosen for the fleet of A-10 Thunderbolt aircraft of the National Air Guard and the U.S. Air Force Reserve.

"The change of its entire fleet from F-16 to Scorpion is proof of the capacity, quality and low life cycle costs that Scorpion provides to fighters and the Air Guard," said Thales Defense & Security President and CEO Mike Sheehan. “A Ninjago Hybrid AU is an alternate universe (AU) of Ninjago where some or all the characters are a cross between animals and humans, hence the title of hybrid. However, there is a shortage of fanfiction featuring this idea of hybrids. Ninjago fans should write more hybrid AU fanfiction because they allow plenty of creativity, applying animal features to characters is fun, and it opens the door to more storylines. Hybrid AU’s may seem random or ridiculous at first but once you look deeper can begin to see why stories such as these should be wider spread across the Ninjago fandom.

To start off, you can take a lot of creative liberty when it comes to creating the AU. You must decide which characters are crosses of which animals or if they’re even hybrids at all. There are infinite numbers of combinations. For example in one fanfic they had Zane as a falcon hybrid while another had Zane as a snow leopard hybrid. This shows that variation in what kind of hybrids (or if they’re human) characters are a choice you can make depending on your personal opinion. Experimenting with different animals is actually very fun. This one creative factor itself is a reason to create AU’s and write more fanfics to share your ideas.

Second, giving our favorite character animal features, whether physically or behaviorally, is adorable. Animals by themselves are adorable, this probably rings true to lots of animal lovers. Taking these traits and giving them to our favorite characters just increases the beauty of it. Giving them wings so they can fly is really cool and animal ears or tails can be super cute. But physical additions aren’t the only choices you have. Maybe one of them is part nocturnal so they find it hard to sleep at night, or maybe they are protective over their friends like a bear is over her cubs or a wolf over it’s pack. Details like this make the story more interesting.

Next, there’s the need for a story line. A very common plot is that hybrids are seen as less than humans or freaks of nature. They are mistreated and tossed aside in society. This plot offers loads of potential stories to write about. But you don’t have to use that idea, you can come up with tons of other ideas. As hybrids the ninja will most likely have different abilities such as advanced hearing or flight. These abilities offer countless possibilities for fanfics. All you have to do is find them and write them.

On that note, some might complain that all hybrid AU stories are all the same. The idea that humans hate hybrids is indeed used in almost all hybrid AU fanfics. this might become repetitive or boring to readers and writers. But although that might still be an idea in the story it doesn’t have to be the main idea. The ninja can just have a good time together away from the negative view of humans. No one is making you use this idea of hybrids being considered lesser beings. You can change it up all you want. The type of hybrids that the characters are might be repetitive as well. If you don’t like the way someone has written a hybrid AU and you think it should be different, the easiest solution is to write your own hybrid fanfiction.

In conclusion, fans of ninjago should write more hybrid AU’s because of how much creative liberty there is, the idea of hybrids is very interesting, and there are plenty of stories to write about a Ninjago hybrid AU. There is a sad shortage of these types of fanfictions. Young Avengers in the MCU

UGH! Damn you, Endgame and Phase 4, for making me think more on how the Young Avengers will join the MCU. And now I have a film trilogy plus a crossover Avengers movie set-up. I kinda want to turn it into fic series but am too busy.

BUT HERE’S THE IDEA ANYWAYS!

Pre-Young Avengers film - Falcon and the Winter Soldiers sees Eli being introduced and taken in under their wing much like the Hawkeye show will do for Kate. - Doctor Strange 2 ends with Wanda gaining her reality-warping abilities/chaos magic and her time journeying with Strange throughout the multiverse sees her seeking a family. She creates teenage Billy and Tommy so in the MCU, but they don’t die/get devoured like their comic counterparts. So they stay Maximoffs

Young Avengers 1 (a mix of Sidekicks and Family Matters) - Captain Marvel and Fury return to Earth to alert the other Avengers of a Kree-Skrull threat. Also bring with them Teddy who they introduce to the Avengers as the son Mar’Vell and Princess Anelle, a Kree-Skrull hybrid who both sides want for different reasons. The Kree want to weaponize him, while the Skrulls are torn between having him as the Crowned Prince and a radical wing of Skrulls want him dead due to his hybrid status, so the Avengers promises to protect him and keep him hidden. Those who are loyal to Teddy or neutral are already on Earth or in that space-station seen in Far from Home. - Dorrek/Teddy meets the other Young Avengers who are the kids or apprenticing under different Avengers. Quickly gets attached to them, especially Billy (WINK WINK). - Teddy and his future teammates sneak out to a party, which ends with Teddy and Billy kissing before Teddy gets accidentally exposed as a Skrull. There are Kree and Skrull spies at the party who call in their armies to distract the Avengers. The Young Avengers are told to stay hidden at the base as the Avengers don’t take the kids seriously. - Meanwhile, Yon-Rogg returns and the Skrull send the Super Skrull. They mostly fight each other as they go after Teddy. The Young Avengers decide to suit up to save Teddy and barely manage to defeat Yon-Rogg and the Super Skrull when the Avengers arrive after their battle with the Kree and Skrull armies. - Avengers formalize Teddy’s asylum and get rid of the Kree and Skrull. They also recognize the Young Avengers as an official team. Meanwhile, as the Skrulls leave, they send out a transmission to begin “invasion protocol.”

Young Avengers 2 (a mix of vol. 2 and New Avengers AIM) - The team continues training and bonding. Meanwhile, it is revealed that Loki was reborn as Kid Loki (unless Thor 4 does that then Kid Loki just shows up there). Kid Loki spends time talking to a “mysterious figure” that he refers to as Mother. - Billy notices Teddy retreating in his shell after the Kree-Skrull drama. He decides to find some way to help but sees him diving into a mystical solution when Kid Loki shows up and attempts to steal his magic. Their fight leads to the Mother being released who seeks to unleash her son, Moridun, into the world. Before Mother can capture Billy, America arrives to save him and swats Kid Loki away. - The Young Avengers team up with America to take out Mother as they notice all the adults fall under her spell. Cannot rely on the Avengers for help. Meanwhile, Mother continues to try using Kid Loki, but Kid Loki’s ulterior motive starts to slip out as he begs the Young Avengers for help. - After another attack by Mother, Noh-Varr appears to help the Young Avengers. He reveals he stayed on Earth during the Kree-Skrull fight but choose to stay and hide as he loves the Earth. - Billy gets conned into helping Kid Loki who ages him up to Teen Loki, showing signs of Billy’s powers crazy growth. - The final battle with Mother has her refer to Billy as Demiurge. Not clear what that is as she attempts to use his powers to release Moridun. Wanda arrives, seemingly broken through Mother’s spell to help the team. However, Mother kills Wanda, which causes Billy to snap as Tommy holds their dying mother. Billy obliterates Mother and everything appears over but as the credits start to roll, its shown that Moridun did escape and is living inside Billy now.

Young Avengers 3 (a mix of Children’s Crusade and New Avengers AIM) - X amount of time passed, the Young Avengers still together with Loki gone. However, signs of Billy losing it becomes more apparent as he gets more aggressive with the villains they face. - Loki returns and sees something odd with Billy. Teddy worried too and eventually it is revealed that Billy is indeed possessed by Moridun as he attacks the other Young Avengers. - America tries to get everyone to safety but fails as Moridun gets access to Billy’s abilities as Demiurge. Specifies what Demiurge means as America manages to get only Teddy, Tommy, and Loki to safety. The others left behind to fend off Moridun. - The rest of them decide to go to Strange for help, but can’t get to him. Tommy decides that they have to find a way to bring Wanda back to life when they find out her body is missing. The search for Wanda takes them off-world which brings them to a group of Skrull who they learn are hybrids too. Wanda is shown alive and well with the hybrids bowing before Teddy and get him to Excelsior, a magic-space sword. - Before they can return to Earth, Moridun appears and drags the other Young Avengers with him as he attacks. Excelsior helps Teddy to disrupt Moridun’s possession of Billy who freaks when he sees Wanda alive.  - America opens a portal to send everyone back to Earth before Moridun can kill the hybrids. When they arrive, Moridun resumes his rampage to kill everyone when Wanda casts a spell to trap Moridun. She works with Loki to send Teddy to Billy’s mind to free him from Moridun, which manages to work. - Billy blasts Moridun out of his body and again uses his power as Demiurge to vaporize him. Reunites with Teddy and his family. Flips again when he sees Wanda alive who mentions that the last thing she remembers is the events of Young Avengers 1. - Teddy proposes to Billy. - Post-Credits shows people digging out Wanda’s grave and pull a body out. Revealed to be a Skrull with the gravediggers being Skrulls too. Turns out to be a flashback and hints to Secret Invasion.

Avengers: Secret Invasion (not fully fleshed out yet) - The Skrulls fully initiate the Secret Invasion protocol and quickly take over Earth as they eliminate the heroes who they haven’t replaced. - The Young Avengers largely unaffected and work with the remaining heroes to save Earth. Teddy attempts to stop the Skrull when it’s revealed that the leader of this faction is his aunt Veranke who leads the radical faction that wants him dead. - As the heroes are being wiped out by Veranke and her Skrull forces, the heroes receive aid from the Kree-Skrull hybrids and the Skrulls loyal to Teddy. The Avengers lead everyone they can to Veranke’s fortress. Ends with Teddy beating Veranke in single-combat and declares the invasion over as he formally addresses himself as Prince Dorrek VIII. - Teddy has to leave Earth now and Billy agrees to leave with him. First, they get married with all their friends gathered to celebrate their union and not long after Teddy and Billy leave Earth to live with the Hybrids, bringing any Skrulls with them who choose not to live on Earth. 4. Have you made any outright changes to the canon material in order to write your muse the way you wanted (entire scenes you chose to omit, chapters you say never existed, things you assume were never said, etc.)?

(( It took me a while to address this question, mostly because it was one I really, really needed to think about.

I don’t know if I’m in the minority or not, but I am someone that both cherishes whatever games Star Fox was able to release, someone that enjoyed the fanon approach, and also enjoys the canon as well. And yet, I pick and choose what I want to use whenever I want to use it because I decided not to cheat myself out of the possibilities that both canon and fanon could offer.

There are things I prefer, and I will list them. I just want to stress that I am intensely flexible to other’s approach to the series as well, and willing to change and adapt my portrayal from time to time when I feel is needed.

I guess this is why it took me a while because I really don’t... omit much. Just have preferences due to how I viewed Falco before any information was available to me.

Falco has blue eyes:

It was the first color I saw for his eyes due to FBF and Assault, and one that stuck with me since. I don’t remember what kind of eyes I have him as a kid and I probably went with full on black at the time. But yeah, this is an old canon piece that I prefer over the current canon only because it was the version I grew up with.

Falco is tall:

Another thing I always headcanoned and prefer over canon, especially now. With Starlink giving proper proportions to all of the characters, I find it interesting how they are height wise in comparison to humans. However, my headcanon for Falco’s height doesn’t include humans in the mix. It’s mostly an IN Lylat thing.

In Lylat, Falco is seen as a very tall and lanky individual. Our version of a 6′2 ft guy. Outside of it, I really don’t care if he’s seen as a manlet. AKA, I’ll cross that road when I get to it. But for me, my muse is a tall lanky fool.

Falco’s a falcon/pheasant hybrid:

Again, another one I run into that I honestly was more or less on the fence about since hearing it as the canon information never got to me when I was little, and I grew up with many different theories as to wtf Falco was. I just always assumed he was some sort of hybrid. And what do you know, that’s a much simpler solution in my opinion. Sure he has the colors of a pheasant, was based off of a pheasant, but his structure damn well isn’t of a pheasant--nor is Falco’s philosophy which is of a bird of prey.

If anyone’s wondering, he’s a mix between a Vietnamese Pheasant and a Red Throated Caracara Falcon.

Lylat has feral versions of it’s citizens:

This is probably the main thing I have changed.

I know what Pigma says in Zero. I am aware of the commentary in Command. I am also very aware that General Shears rides a feral hog after Fox in Farewell Beloved Falco. I am very aware of the existence of feral animals of the Lylatians. I just have a hard time finding logic to it. Thus, I omit them and replaced them with feral dinosaurs and alien animals that have nothing to do with the Lylatians. It just makes more sense.
