Here are some family friendly Halloween movies that I recommend especially for children. We want them to love Halloween, we don't want to scare them away from it!
Do be werry, Monster House is on this list and that is definitely a little more on the scary side for children IMO so please do keep an eye on your children when watching it together.

Marcel the Shell with Shoes On (dir. Dean Fleischer-Camp)
-Jere Pilapil- 10/10 Listen, I, too, cannot believe that I’m giving a maximum rating to a full-length movie that is an expansion of(?), a sequel to(?), or a reimagining(?) of a 3-minute stop motion short from a dozen years ago. There were two sequels to that short in the interim, the material barely totaling more than 10 minutes. The premise of the shorts is simple: Marcel (Jenny Slate) is a shell, with shoes. A documentarian interviews him about his life in a seemingly empty human house, all of the details cute, wholesome and funny (Marcel’s too little to have a dog, so he ties a string around a bit of lint and pulls it around, that kind of thing). The movie starts out similarly (and, I think, reuses some jokes from the original shorts), but we get a bigger and more modern perspective: turns out Marcel and his grandmother Connie (Isabella Rossellini (!!!?)) are the only two shells left in their (full-sized, human) house, after their community was accidentally whisked away following a domestic dispute (between humans). What’s more, in the aftermath, the house has become an AirBnB site. Resources are scarce; Marcel and Connie have made do. But it’s unsustainable. They need their community. If Paddington 2 is a 10 in being one of the sweetest, most fun movies imaginable, Marcel the Shell with Shoes On is at least a 9, and I’m gonna say it’s at least a spiritual successor. The stop motion animation behind Marcel is extremely limited, but Slate’s Marcel voice is extremely endearing. He’s like a child, and the movie almost gives the feeling of watching a child fend for themself. The search for Marcel’s family takes some quirkily poignant (but funny) turns, such as Marcel’s realization of just how big the world outside his house is. There’s a lot of optimism here that’s in short supply elsewhere (gestures vaguely into the air), and it’s hard not to get swept away by it here. It’s not a completely light and airy story - obviously Marcel’s A-plot resonates deeply, but director Dean Fleischer-Camp inserts himself in the story (as the documentarian, reluctant to insert himself into the story) with his own sad backstory. Dean’s and Marcel’s stories complement each other perfectly, and in between there’s some fun but not overbearing commentary on the nature of internet vitality and fame. After Everything Everywhere All At Once, this is my second favorite movie of the year. Not in the sense of “second best”, but the second movie this year that made me think “This is my favorite movie of them year.”

The Last Unicorn really created one of the most terrifying monsters in animation and said it was rate G.
(There’s a lot of other mature themes in this film, but that this was all in the first act)

Made a tier list of dog related movies from 1990-1999 because I don't want to go thru all the Air Buddy films honestly they deserve their own tier list.
Requirements
- has to be intended for children or a family friendly audience.
- must be live action with animal actors.
- The dog should either be the main protagonist, a significant supporting character, or be integral to the plot.
Perks
- if the dog talks
- if there's an over the top dog hating villain
- if there's more than one dog
- if the dog has a love interest
Docked Points
- the rules of who can and can't understand the talking dog are unclear.
- the dog dies or is severely injured
- the movie is not memorable
- the dog lacks personality
Please discuss whether or not my rankings are fair or if I forgot a movie.

Watched the fnaf movie, 0 out of 10 Sun wasn't in it
Slight spoilers below
jk jk it was fine, not scary at all in my opinion as a horror fan, which is a shame bc I felt like I could've been an actually pretty spooky flick if they just let it be a rated R since lets be honest most fnaf fans have grown into adults anyways... Oh well. BUT I'm sure some people will find it rlly scary and that's awesome!! I unfortunately am hard to scare so that's no fault of the movie.
It was fun, a fine experience if you just want something goofy and it stands alone fine if you aren't super caught up on the billions of hours of lore. I enjoyed the main character's storyline more than I expected to, tho some might think it takes away from the action... ehh, I'm cool with it. I thought it had some heart.
It's especially a shame cause some part of me hoped against all hopes it would get enough popularity it'd spawn a sequel or two buuuuut I haven't seen many ppl talking about it at all and the rating isn't good, soooooo... I sad. Shouldn't have hoped but still did like an IDIOT. (If I am wrong, which I SO HOPE I AM, I can die happy)

It's been over a year and I still cannot get over how bad Hocus Pocus 2 was. It has given me a a greater level of respect for Hocus Pocus than I ever thought possible. It's made me think better of almost all "bad" horror movie sequels I've seen, because say what you will about the later Friday the 13ths and Nightmare on Elm Streets, but at leas those were actual movies instead of 90 minutes of bullshit strung around a few set pieces that are just retreads of better ones from the original.
